my feelings abt nct taeyong r so complicated because i wanna say hes overrated because everybody acts like hes the specialest boy in the whole entire world and im a natural contrarian however. he is honestly maybe correctly rated because he is definitely bringing the dancing and the visuals which is all anybody cares abt anymore anyway.
like the man cannot sing or rap for shit but like. its an sm group and theres 9 of them so its also not like they really need him to be doing either of those things. and arguably having somebody who is so immediately visually memorable is sometimes better for a group because way more ppl stan because they see a good fancam than stan because they hear a good vocalist. especially since nobody really sings live anyway. like he and skz felix serve essentially the same function in their groups but i would argue ty does it better because hes a genuinely technically impressive dancer

HELOO!!; this is my first post so I wanted to rate my favorite new release!! It's 'Kill My Doubt' by Itzy!!
1. Bet on me. I loved this since before it was actually released on streaming services. It's so good and I love the meaning behind it! It's deep and reflects their feelings perfectly. I also saw someone point out that yeji never stops running because she's the leader and can't really give up and take time on herself so the whole group isn't in shambles. Overall 10/10 for me lmao
2. Cake. TJIS SONG IS SO FUN!!!!; I love yunas little part and the whole song is so cute and fun!! Literally there's not much to say other than it's fun and very itzy like I think its a 9/10
3. None of my business. I love this because it's just like so carefree and the way they sing it really portrays that. It's really nice and fun!! Just like the "It's none of my business 😋" makes them seem so cool LMAO! 9/10
4. Bratty. I LOVE THIS the best at the begining has me literally shaking ass rn. Makes me literally ascend up to the heavens idk what it is 10/10
5. Psychic lover. (I had such a hard time typing that) BUT SO GOOD TOO!! Literally I love the way the chorus hits you it's literally so danceable makes me want to scream LMAO 9/10
6. Kill shot. OMGGGGGGGGGGG I cannot fathom how much this song is so good. I love the instrumental and they way they sing is so so so so so k so so fitting. Literally in love 100/10
My overall rating is 10/10. I love this album so much every last song is so itzy sounding they keep releasing hit after hit it's so impressive.
**REMEMBER**
This is just my opinion. You do not have to agree but atleast be nice about it because arguing about it isn't gonna make me change my mind! But if love to hear opinions!!

jk has armys so he wont crash and burn but he also isnt new justin, far from it. armys would never believe it but seven is not a hit for an american industry scale. he is staying on charts thanks to radio and crazy amount of remixes and his biggest streams are from thailand. he is not gonna become huge pop star just for having abs and singing generic repetetive songs. he is still just bts member that had many streams on his new song and thats it. but well we will see what scooter will mold him into beacause jk doesnt seem to mind anything if it will make him biggest pop star
I guess that was Scooter’s way of thinking.
Jungkook has a fandom because of BTS, BUT he is new at being solo. So Scooter doesn’t have to start from 0 while also being the one to take credit for “making” him and his stans and pjms too can say what they want but BTS is more well known and successful than any member (we’ll see if it’s going to change) do if Scooter succeed in making him a Harry he will see it as a win.
Anyways, these are the reasons I think it’s not going to work(no particular order):
-racism
-like anon said Jk is not fluent enough in English
-Kpop/armys have a bad reputation which is going to stop many people from taking Jk seriously(kpop is like anime: everyone’s heard of it, but outside of the country of origin it’s still niche)
-Justin blew up in a veeery different era and he was a phenomenon. Things were different a decade ago. Now we are in the digital era where people can pull crazy numbers without their music being actually a hit worldwide(ex:Bad Bunny, Bts, Jungkook himself)
-enlistment(even if Jk doesn’t enlist for the 2025 “reunion” he still has to at some point so the only chance for Scooter to make him mainstream is before that)
-having Gp hit is very different from having Western’s pop stan’s respect. They are heavily into pop girls and are very critical of the men stars for doing the bare minimum(including JB) so if Scooter’s team doesn’t give him something “unique” like Harry’s clown clothes and queer image and let’s him be straight up a copy of JB (basic songs with basic vocals and basic dance-now that I think about it that’s why the choreo was so bland cause Justin has easy choreos too lol) he will not have these people’s “approval” and will be a laughing stock
---
I think the fans thing is a very good point. It's real. Most of these groups or even soloists aren't taken seriously because of their fans. Nobody likes dealing with people who take everything personally and are fighting others on internet about who has the most monthly listeners on Spotify. One direction had some really good, geniunely catchy pop-rock music but they weren't taken seriously because of their fans. And the same happened to BTS. Mind you, the SK goverment would use BTS for clout and brownie points but they never respected them as a group enough to give them exemption. They're definitely more popular than Son Heungmin or any other sports figure, but does popularity equal respect? No. Never has, and never will.
In fact, I'd say Harry started being taken more seriously when he stopped having such a hardcore, pintpoint-able online "rabid" fanbase. Meaning, once he stopped being so associated to one direction. And that took a few years. 1D broke up in 2015, and in 2018 he was still "Harry from 1D". I think I started noticing a shift and more people acknowledging him just as Harry well after his first tour as a soloist was over, which was in like 2019. I barely see "harries" on twitter, too. They exist, obviously. But they're not really a strong online presence, like even Nicki fans are.
All BTS members are still "---- of BTS". I've said it even before the hiatus, and my opinon still hasn't changed. It's probably only Jimin who random people can say "Jimin" and others will know who they're talking about. It doesn't mean they're fans of him or anything, but just that his name stands for itself.
I'm what everyone would call a local, it sounds really stupid to say it like that but it's the only way I know how to say it. When I said this is just an online thing for me, I meant it. I don't have friends irl who listen to kpop or care about celebrities at all; I don't know people like that, people who are "fans" of anything. In 6 years or so I must've probably said BTS outloud like only a dozen times, and I don't really talk about them -or any other celebrity for that matter- with people irl. So I kind of gauge how "viral" and known something is through the people I know irl because if they're all posting a song on Instagram stories and whatever, then I know for sure it's reached the normies. That was Justin after 2015, Taylor after blank space kind of?? But more than anything after lover. Miley had that moment after wrecking ball, though she's had up and downs. Ariana only kind of picked up internationally in like 2020, but not even that. People here know who Ariana is, but they couldn't name you two of her songs. For Harry, it was watermelon sugar which was a song in his SECOND full album that was released five years after 1D. Anyone who thinks Harry got "international mainstream whatever" success right after one direction... is wrong. It happened in his second album. Even more so, despite one direction having had tours in stadiums, Harry's first solo tour was an arenas tour. He literally had shows for 15k, 20k people, not more than that. Any BTS akgae would've called him a flop. Hell, if they looked at his youtube/instagram/tiktok numbers right now they would still call him a flop.
Because that's usually how it goes for good, remarkable people who are meant to be remembered and even more loved as years go by. Olivia started off her career with a bang, but will people remember her 10 years from now? That's yet to be seen. Deep down, that is the ultimate goal for a lot of people. They want to make an impact and be rememberd in the long haul. Frankly, I believe that's the real definition of "success". Or at least the only respectable definition.
I'm working as a teacher right now, and the other day I asked my class of teens (they're all around 15 years old) who are they listening to these days so I'd take them a song to work with during class, and all the girls in the class immediately said Taylor Swift. I was so pleasantly surprised! I liked Taylor Swift in 2009 and back then nobody I knew listened to her.
I'm seeing Taylor in November, me and my little sister bought tickets to her show. My sister is 15 right now, about the same age I was in 2009 when I started listening to Taylor. One of her classmate's mom called me to help her get a ticket because they weren't able to the first time and her daughter cried the whole day. Now, that's legacy. How is Taylor, two decades into her career, still gaining fans and still getting bigger and bigger everyday? After getting the tickets I mentioned to my brother how I was listening to Taylor when I was 15 and now our sister is litening to her at 15 too, and he was like "it's not easy, having that kind of career especially right now when everything comes and goes so fast; she's almost like coldplay or the rolling stones now." You know, those bands that will always have an audience no matter how many years pass. I think BTS as a group is definitely in that category, but I can't say the same for any solo member as of right now. Ask me again in 10 years, maybe.
As for music, sometimes songs are a hit in the US and not the rest of the world. Sometimes they are everywhere else in the world but not in the US. More often than not, a certified Hit song happens when it's a hit both in the US AND worldwide. Like it or not, the world still looks to the US for "approval" in a lot of things, if it's cool there then they'll think it's cool anywhere else. I don't like in the US so I don't know if Morgan Wallen is a "household name", but he's already got the longest running #1 or whatever, even more weeks than as it was. Yet I've never heard his song, meanwhile everyone knew as it was. Either way, even "hit songs" have an expiration date. People don't hold on to one-time wonders for a long time, the next one comes and they forget about the previous one.
And then there's that thing I've talked about before related to trends in music and how the world seems to have moved on from pop songs and are more into a "mature" sound, and a more developed sound, something that sounds like people actually worked on them.
If we're talking about hits in the US, just look at these numbers. And it's a song with no remixes or anything. She barely did any performances for it. She literally didn't even try.
Tumblr media
This isn't really relevant, just a shameless Harry plug, but I wish people knew more of Harry's music apart from watermelon sugar and as it was lol. I also liked him better before the clown clothes (tho he used to dress like that even when he was in one direction, he's always been ~quirky and no, he's not forcing that trait, he's just really always been like that since he was young). I actually don't even like as it was, and his last album is my least favorite one. I like this style of his:
youtube
It's understandable though, that singers like to experiment and try different things, they like reinventing themselves, and that's okay.
youtube
And this one is a song that he wrote but then gave to Ariana Grande. And he doesn't change pronouns even if the song is sung by a woman. If I recall correctly, I think even the original leak of the song had these lyrics, as if they were written about a man (but don't quote me on that because it's been way too many years and I can't find the original leak).

Hii- i just have an opinon/question. it's kinda weird/uncomfy so feel free to ignore.
It's just that, I was scrolling through instagram, and it was on of the reels where- people have to tilt their heads to choose between kpop groups. Being a stray kids video, the creator only showed where people were choosing SKZ.
I went to the comments of this video- and i noticed one person talking about how RM (BTS) had found the MANY fanfictions written by army, and said how it made him uncomfortable, the commenter then went on to tell us (STAY) that we should completely stop writing fanfiction because of how it might make the boys feel. (which I understand and i dont have an issue with this part)
What do you think about this? Because when I read it I felt... really conflicted, i might ask one or two other creators on tumblr to see their opinions. but what's your take?
(Again- you can completely ignore this, I just wanted to see your opinion on this issue..
-- thank you <33
i personally am uncomfortable writing member x member fic. that's the most common fic that exists in fandoms like this one so i get that most people are fine with it. some people think reader fic is the worst kind. some people think fic about irl people in any form is wrong. i've seen ppl say if you write fic about irl people u should kill yourself. i've seen people say writing fic about fictional characters from live action media isn't any better because people are still picturing the actors or whatever. some people think smut in all forms is wrong (god i could rant about this one all day).
my point is people have all kinds of opinions and it's based on what makes them uncomfortable so it's something you have to make your own mind up about. if something makes you uncomfortable, don't engage, don't search, just block/ignore. your opinion should determine what you engage with, not what you think others should engage with.
i think where clear boundaries are crossed is if you send it to people who did not ask to see it, including the idols themselves. don't put it in their faces and keep it in the correct tags so only people searching for it find it and we're all good. that's my opinion.

I still don’t understand if you think Jikook are actually together or you just like shipping them?😭😭😭😭 like I do think there is something going on because there is so many evidence but also not really because there is something missing. Like I’m DEEP in the Jikook lore but still very confused about their relationship. Like I’m 100% sure they have feelings for each other ( romantic/sexual or both) but idk I’m just confused about your stance on them😭😭 also do u actually like bts? Girl you’re confusing and I would really like to hear your thoughts
Ah anon
Patience, patience. I am posting from 2017. Would you be a diehard jikooker in 2017? Not many were. I love shipping them and reading fics and seeing fanart. I also have no doubt that, had I not left the fandom and stuck around, following all the right people and experiencing all the lore in real time, I very well could have been the one tinhatter to rule them all. As is, I'm still catching up on content. Which means my opinion is bound to change. So stick around!
My previous kpop fandom was much smaller and I was completely insane consuming and producing content about my bias simply because no one else was. I simply don't know Jimin or Jungkook like that. Yet. The plethora of already existing analysts is discouraging to say the least. But I'm trying to not let it get to me and develop my own opinons organically! I don't wanna be a sheeple.
TL;DR: it would actually be much easier to make funny jikook shitposts is I was fully convinced they WEREN'T dating.
I'm like you, anon. I think there's SOMETHING there. You say you're deep in the lore. Please become my friend so we can talk about it!!! Please!!!!! We can work out what we truly think about them together!!!!

Hey friends and foes...
Although I’ve been into kpop since sometime in late 2014/2015, I only recently started to write out album reviews, opinons, and such a couple of years ago. This little side blog will now be where I archive them all. There is quite a bit of backlog to get through, but here goes nothing! I’ll start posting them shortly. If you’re reading this, feel free to recommend new groups to get into, songs you think I’d like, and that includes k-indie/k-rock artists and soloists; I’m not picky

My Thoughts on JYP Entertainment
Founder/CEO: J.Y. Park - Good but problematic
I have complicated feelings about JYP as a person.  I think that as a business man he is smart and knows his business.  I also think he knows how to train his trainees, but as a person and creator he has done some questionable things.  Mostly he is very misogynistic towards his female trainees, along with his own music lyrically.
Two examples of this is during Sixteen he told Jihyo that she was too fat...to a 17-18 year old girl.  She also wasn’t what people would even considered fat.  His reasoning was not a good one, it was simply a stylistic look choice of a dancer’s body that he wanted and thus a 17-18 year old girl who was probably going through puberty wasn’t the ‘right size’ for him.  He also said this to another girl who was 17 on the nizi project in 2020.  Only five years later, his views unchanged.
The second example is his questionable lyrics that he gives TWICE.  Not only in Cheer Up which is basically telling a guy, even when I say no, keep pestering me.  And Yes or Yes, basically disregarding that No isn’t an answer.  If either one of those songs was sung in context of a boy group, they would have been accused of disregarding the probablemic argument that as a society of a whole, women face daily.  There are other songs for example Girls Girls Girls by Got7, and I will probably go into a deeper separate post about cheer up and Yes or Yes, even other songs he has written as well, but I wanted to give examples here.  (Also not trying to put down TWICE or GOT7, counting that they didn’t write the lyrics or choose the song.  I’m talking about the Song writer, a man in his 40’s.)
Company as a whole: Not the worst, but not the best.  (But really is any company)
As a company, to me at least, they always wanted to be seen as a creative and forward thinking company rather then looking at it for money reasons, but how they treat their groups scheduling wise, future groups, and even trainee’s it seems to be more about money then what they want you to think.  It sometimes feels like a shady company that wants a sugar coat cover to hide what they do.
JYP Entertainment is always praised for their look on mental health in their company and health in general.  Which is a good quality to have, but they also are just doing the bare minimum.  They are not doing it proactively, instead of only doing it after it’s a huge issue to the point were it affects business.
Such as with Mina, it’s good that they didn’t force her to be on stage when she has a panic disorder, but also they let it get to the point where she couldn’t even go on stage.  With how much they promote and with no rest really given to the group until it’s absolutely necessary, meaning the girls’ are constantly working, I’m surprised only one member seems to have broken.
Their trainee system: They don’t seem to care so much about talent
For their trainee’s they seem to pick nice, wholesome people who work hard.  Which isn’t bad qualities at all.  They also have strict rules that they have to follow, such as the dating ban, the no going to bars ban (which makes sense to me considering the burning sun scandal and so on).  They don’t seem to have a diet for trainee’s, but from the views of their Founder, I think it’s probably an unspoken rule.
Compared to other companies, talent wise, they seem to focus more on dancing skills then actual singing.  When they do have singing, they seem to have a more westernized singing rather than a technical one.  This is kind of made apparent on the show Unnies, when Tiffany recorded with JYP.  Tiffany was trained at SM Entertainment which is known for having a more technical singing education.  During their recording he showed her a more breathy way.  She even stated, it was more about feeling rather then technique.  Which isn’t bad.  Most theatre performances want to emphasis feelings rather then technique, but if you can’t hit a note, there’s a too much of a problem.  Plus this doesn’t necessarily mean a good longevity career wise, because if you are using improper technique for long periods of time, it could result in vocal issues in the future.
Moving on….
On how they treat Male Groups: They last longer then the girl groups.
Current Male Groups they have:
2PM + Soloists
Day6 - Band + Soloists
JJ Project
Got7 + Soloists
Stray Kids
Jus2 (sub Unit)
3Racha (Sub Unit)
J.Y. Park (Soloist)
Former Notable Groups they had:
2AM
G.O.D.
Rain (Soloists)
So with The boy groups, they seem to have a more usual staggered comeback release date, other then Day6 which for a year, they released a single every month.  From my past experience, they seem to promote Got7 over Day6 and now that Stray Kids have entered the chat, Got7 is now getting less promotions resources wise.  Which makes sense in terms of business, because they are already established while Stray Kids being the new kids on the block have less of a fan base.  That is normal for most companies, given that the Kpop system relies heavily on the already established fandom that they create in the first couple of years rather than a long term comeback and promotional system.
2PM is from their 2nd generation of idols, along with their counterpart 2AM.  They had a similar single release date between the two like got7 does with stray kids.
I am mostly excluding G.O.D. and Rain from this conversation because they are from the very beginning, where JYP was just starting out.  G.O.D. is considered a legendary 1st generation group, and Rain is considered a legend in term so of male soloists himself.
Just mainly speaking on Got7, Day6, and Stray Kids, their most active male groups currently, here is a timeline from their debut years and how many singles they each had.
2014 - got7 Debut
Got7: 4 singles, 2 Ep’s, 1 Studio
2015 - Day6 debut
Got7: 4 Singles, 2 EP’s 1 Repackaged,
Day6: 1 Single, 1 Ep
2016
Got7: 3 Singles, 2 Ep’s,  2 Studio
Day6: 1 Single, 1 EP
2017 - Stray Kids Debut
GOt7: 3 Singles, 3 Ep’s
Day6: 12 Singles, 2 Studio
Stray Kids: 1 Single
2018
Got7: 5 Singles, 1 Ep, 1 Studio,1 Repackaged
Day6: 6 Singles, 2 Ep’s, 1 Compilation, 1 Studio
Stray Kids: 3 Singles, 4 Ep’s
2019
Got7: 3 Singles, 4 Ep’s, 1 Repackaged
Day6: 2 Singles, 1 Ep, 1 Compilation, 1 Studio
Stray Kids: 5 Singles, 2 Ep’s 1 Repackaged
To note, in 2020, Stray kids have 6 singles already planned or have happened.  Out of the three, Day6 seems to have the least amount of promotions all together minus one year when they released a single a month.
On how they treat Female Groups: Milk them for they got then leave them to dry Once they hit a certain age.
Current Female Groups they have:
Itzy
Twice
Former Notable Groups they had:
Miss A + Soloists
Wonder Girls + Soloists
15& + Soloists
Jeon Somi/Trainee - complicated thing
Baek A Yeon (Soloists)
They treat their female groups  differently then their male counterparts.  For them, they either care or they don’t.  Which is a weird thing to say, but you can tell by how they promote and how many singles they have.  For most JYP Groups, they seem to be more of an afterthought with recycled concepts over and over again. With Itzy is too early to tell they path that they will go with.  Will it be like MissA whose single count capped out at 8, with only one member the focus of the group?  Will it be like 15&, who was never actually given the chance to shine and disbanded before they were even known as a group?  Or will they overwork them like Twice?  Wonder Girls started off good, but once they went to US and didn't get the results that I think JYP wanted, they were fazed out, as they grew older.  JYP with their girl groups, seems to not know what to do with them once they hit a certain age.  Which isn’t just a JYP problem, but a KPOP problem.  The only differences is, he doesn’t wait till they are close to 30.  They tend to stop earlier.
Let’s look at the numbers shall we….
15& - Deserved better!
Debuted in 2012 at 15 (Both girls were 15)
1 Studio Album
5 Singles (4 of them on one album)
Disbanded after having a four year hiatus
Active only for 3 years (2012-2015)
Disbanded by at the age of 18.
Miss A - Should have focused on the group as a whole, not just one member.
Debuted in 2010 at average age of 19.5
2 Studio Albums, 2 single Albums, 3 EP’s
8 Singles...yeah just 8.
Active for 5 years (disbanded in 7 years)
Disbanded by the average age of 24.5 (2015) 26.5 (official Disbandment)
Wonder Girls - a Legend that had so much potential with their band concept!
Debuted in 2007 at the average age of 16.2
3 Studio Albums, 4 EP’s
15 Singles (with 2007 being their most releases in a year with 4)
Active for 8 years (Disbanded in 10) (In 2017 they had one goodbye song never promoted)
Disbanded by the average age of 26.8 (2017)
TWICE - Overworked for money
Debuted in 2015 at the average age of 16.8
3 Studio Albums, 2 Compilation Albums, 4 Repackaged, 9 EP’s (Still counting they haven’t disbanded yet)
23 Singles in 5 years (not counting the 1 in 2020).
They had 5 singles alone in 2017 only in korea
In 2018 they had 9 comebacks total between South Korea and Japan
Back to just 5 in 2019.
Average is 2-3 comebacks a year for girl groups for the first two years then 1 or 2 after that...TWICE’s least active year was 2016 with 2.  (Not counting their debut in 2015.)
As of 2020, their average age will be 21.8.
Also on solo artists, he has no idea what to do with them really, regardless of male or female.
Overall, I think I’m more critical of JYP as a company, because they try to hide the fact that they function like a business as opposed to YG or SM in terms of big three.  They want to be seen more of an artist themselves rather then a business, which I find hypocritical.  I based my opinions on facts and overall feel of the company that I get from them.
In terms of music, I tend to like vocal’s more, which also is not just a kpop thing.  It’s true for most music genres, which is a personal preference.
So To end on happy notes,
Groups I Like from the company:
Miss A
Wonder GIrls
Day6
Baek A Yeon
I know it’s a lot of former….
Some Songs that I like that you should check out from this company:
ITZY - Dalla Dalla
TWICE - What is Love?, Like OOH-AHH, Dance the Night Away
MISSA - Hush, Only You, I Don’t Need a Man, Bad Girl Good Girl
Wonder Girls - Tell Me, Nobody, Be My Baby, Why So lonely, Draw Me
Day6 - Congratulations, Out of My Mind, I need Somebody Lean On Me
Got7 - Just Right, Miracle, Hard Carry
Baek a Yeon - Sad Song, Shouldn’t Have, So-So Just Because
Stray Kids - Hellevator
Things to note in general:
Some of these are not just JYP issues, but also a kpop industry as a whole.  I tried to point those out, when I can.
It’s well known that Male groups are a gamble in terms of profit either they make a ton of money or the loose a ton of money, while Female groups always bring you money just with a shorter life span and don’t tend to out sell male groups (With some exceptions), which is why most small time companies debut female groups in order to gain money to debut a male group.
Also this just my opinion, so these issues might not be a problem for you, maybe you even prefer dancing groups to vocal groups.  Both are valid.  I’m just giving another opinion.

He can totally leave jyp !!
searsuly jyp is the best in terms of treatments, I know that by following 2PM ,twice, stray kids and got7 ,but lately Got7 trends on Twitter after any member's Instagram live , hinting that 'jype' mistreate them as we can see today mark confirms that he 'hate jyp'.
Honestly I think few Got7 members are mad that they not as successful as thier colleagues
***And jyp [the dude] is not jealous of anyone ,he let his artists produce and create their own music.

My Kpop Unpopular Opinons
The ‘K’ in Kpop is there for a reason....
It stands for Korean. Not American. I might be the only one who gets annoyed by how much Kpop groups are outsourcing to America. Mainly BTS since they got the farthest. But it honestly has become such a poisonous thing to me. I am half Korean and my family is very patriotic of their beautiful country. And it’s almost a colonization mindset or cultural appropriation to take a countries’ gem (such as Kpop) and demand it be taken over to YOUR country, to demand that idols learn YOUR language, to say that because Bts got praise in America they MUST be the best Kpop group. Is America the only country that matters? Should new Kpop groups try hard to appeal to Americans while their fellow Koreans take a back burner? Why can’t you let Korea have its own thing and enjoy it without trying to make it into something that’s easier for you to digest?
Stop Supporting Youtube Channels who are Using Kpop for Clout
The Talko, Watch mojo, Reaction channels and even fucking TRISHA PAYTAS. Youtubers be using Kpop for clout bc they know it’s gotten popular lately. But you hoes are the demand to the supply. STOP GIVING THESE HOES CLICKS. on a regular day, you’d hate a fake fan but are all ready to watch some YouTuber who ran out of ideas use BTS to get some views. And the info that The Talko And Watch mojo use isn’t even groundbreaking! They’d be like “did you know that Suga’s real name is Yoongi?” sis....no. Support Kpop news sites that actually are about the Korean industry as a whole and not just getting your view by using BTS.
We need to talk about the Kpop industry being ‘problematic’ and ‘slave contracts’
Idols signed up for this lifestyle. They signed up for restricted freedom, dieting, practicing a lot and working almost 24/7. Am I saying it’s right? Not necessarily...I think if an idol is fainting, very underweight and not getting their 8 hours every night then obvi the company/management needs to be handled. But we need to calm the witch hunt for some companies bc your oppa/unnie is fully aware what their career entails. And instead of coming for SM or any particular company, strive for reformation of the whole industry.
Idols are sometimes problematic....and we need to call it out
This is mainly aimed towards the problematic comments some idols have made about skin tone. I’ve seen a lot of people become upset by Wendy’s blackcent or the blackface history of Mamamoo’s past and they have every right to be. A lot of fans come to their defense and say things like “in Korea, pale skin is valued more than dark skin. (Idol name) just didn’t know better.” Well...if they didn’t know better then we should teach them better! And don’t attack other fans who are genuinely hurt about the comments/actions. I watched an unpopular opinion video and they said “people who are quick to call an idol problematic are annoying.” I’m sorry but who are you to tell someone what they can and cannot be offended by? Esp when there are TONS of black/dark skinned Kpop fans whose very skin was just insulted....
Anaylsis videos/posts about your fav otp is problematic.
Calm down. It could be real and it could not be. I already talked about this on my blog before so I’m not gonna beat a dead horse. But you’re forcing a narrative to satisfy your little fantasy.
BTS SHOULD GET MILLITARY TIME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE
In Korea, every man has to serve millitary time. It’s downright disrespectful to cherry pick a guy bc he’s famous and exempt him from his duties. Really? How the fuck should the rest of the Korean male population in boot camps feel that Jungkook got to skip his time bc he just so happens to have tons of fangirls who want to hop on his dick? Does fame get you everywhere? Is that the message you want to spread? Disgusting. If I see that in my feed, I’m blocking you hoes.
2NE1 and Big Bang ran so BlackPink and Bts could walk.
New Kpop fans want to act like Black Pink and BTS invented the fucking wheel. Wrong. Big Bang was a big inspiration to Bts and they were part of the first bridge between the western world and Kpop. Without Big Bang, Kpop wouldn’t be as big in America/other western countries as it is now. And if that didn’t happen, then Bts would loose the majority of its fan base now. And black pink is literally a copy of 2ne1, it’s not the girls fault but YG itself who knew they lost a big girl group. 2NE1 literally invented the girl crush concept and also made big leaps in the western world. Give credit where it’s due. Thank you, next.
Seungri shouldn’t have quit being an idol, he should’ve quit his businesses.
His businesses were the reason his whole scandal began. I’m not saying I was going to support him if he continued making music but like to come out and say “everyone, as punishment I’m quitting being an idol instead of the businesses that actually caused all this drama!” is the most un self-aware response.
If you stan one group, you aren’t a Kpop stan.
Korean Pop. Not BTS pop. Not BlackPink pop. Not EXO pop. Sis.....it’s like saying you know Spanish bc you can say ‘hola’. That’s a MOLESCULE to what the genre actually holds.
Big Hit not Allowing girl trainees is highkey sexist.
Yes, I’m aware of what happened to the one girl group that came from Big Hit. But honestly that’s a funny excuse. One bad thing happened and now he’s gonna ban all females? I remember this tweet that resided with me about the Empire actor faking a hate crime. It said “If one faked hate crime is enough to make you question and judge all the others....it’s almost as if you were looking for an excuse all along.” (Paraphrased.) all I’m saying is all women aren’t evil so why are the rest of inspiring girls wanting to be an idols getting punished?
Ladies, we need to treat our fellow women better.
I want to see more support for girl idols. I want us to raise them so they can be at the same level as some of these boy groups. I know we find Bts, Got7, NCT, Exo ect to be very handsome and charming but we shouldn’t abandon other women for the sake of pretty boys. Let’s hype them up. Girl groups can be talented too and we would want support if we were them. Feminists where are you when we need you??
NCT’s concept is a flop.
People don’t wanna stan a group whose members are endless and always changing. We want a group that we can relax with, grow with and truly form a bond with. This is unable to do when we constantly are seeing new faces and trying to remember names.
(This is not at all forced on anyone but I want to see some ppl’s unpopular opinions. @goldngguk @chimchimsauce @yn-dere @yeollie-yeollie if you guys wanna share any pls do, I’m all ears and tag me in it.)

French Montana
When BTS announced that they were going to do a collab with Halsey, I was afraid. I was worried she would be given her own part and that it’d be an awful part. I was worried that there would be more emphasis on her than on BTS (which I wouldn’t have had a problem with if it was supposed to be Halsey’s song, not BTS’s song). I was worried she would be very unprofessional with the boys. I held my judgement until the music video came out and I was glad for that. She’s a wonderful addition to the song and she seems to adore BTS and BTS seems to adore her in a way that ARMYS and BTS do.  I didn’t have that fear with Monsta X and French Montana. I knew he’d have his own part of the song (because that’s what rappers do). But I was still disappointed in his part of the song. French is a good rapper imo (I’m not a rapper snob, educate me if I’m wrong) and his flow is good. But the lyrics... what? I didn’t understand him, first of all, even in the MV. And 2ndly when I did... Why? WHY? His lyrics have nothing to really do with the rest of the song really? Except for mentioning two other women but I think that’s a jab at cat fights within the female rapping community? It’s funny that in a song by people who can’t speak English as their first language, the American guest rapper is the one who I can’t fully understand. WHY.
Then there came the GMA performance. I had heard someone on YouTube comments say that they hoped IM would rap French’s part (hopefully changing the words so they make sense) but... nope. Why? IM has little to no parts in that song. AND HE’S A RAPPER. Why can’t he just take French’s part when French isn’t there?
THEN THE JIMMY KIMMEL
OH GOD
When I heard about it, I was like “oh you guys are over-exaggerating”. So I watched it for myself and... OH NO
NO
BAD MONTANA
GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM
LEAVE MONSTA X ALONE
Like every fear I had about Halsey came true in French Montana!!!
So unprofessional!
IM should have taken Montana’s part forcefully. Montana doesn’t deserve to perform alongside people WHO DON’T SPEAK ENGLISH AS THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE YET CAN BE FUCKED TO MEMORIZE A SONG IN THAT LANGUAGE meanwhile Montana can’t be fucked to remember a rap that lasts less than 30 seconds.
I’m so sorry, Monsta X.
I heard 2 rumors recently
1) That French Montana was drunk during the shooting of the MV [but I can’t find any evidence for that one so I doubt it but at this rate idk]
&
2) Monsta X is going to make more English songs [came from a news article saying a person from Monsta X’s American label said that]
I hope #2 is true.
Not all American artists are like French Montana!

Unpopular Opinion #idk
Got7′s music is not that bad, if people actually took the time to listen to their whole album, they’d know. Also, they get more creative freedom over their side tracks and b-sides than their title tracks. Honestly, if JYP would choose better title tracks, life would be so much easier for Got7. Like for example, the Flight Log: Turbulence album’s title track should have been skyway tbh
