Some of my CDs.

Owl City, Ocean Eyes losing the quality battle since there's no lyric booklet. The booklet only has credits inside. The CD case was also damaged by me (oops). This album is known for Fireflies of course but I'm way partial to Dental Care, Hello Seattle, The Bird and the Worm, and basically anything else. The Saltwater Room is on this album too but I won't lie I prefer the "Maybe I'm Dreaming" album version of it.

Kaizers Orchestra, Maestro has a 360p video of the song Maestro's video in it that you can watch on PC. The CD also has an installer for an audio player which unfortunately doesn't work anymore since it's meant to be verified from a page on the website, still brilliant though. For the rest of these I haven't played them on a PC so I don't know if there's anything but music on them.

Buck-Tick, Darker Than Darkness -Style 93-, I could go on about it, it's such an amazing album, and I'm not just talking about the songs! The booklet's pages are mostly gold with a few that are black, and there's photos of the band members inside as well as the song lyrics. I have mentioned this elsewhere but there's beauty in the actual experience of putting the CD in a CD player and watching it count up after track 10 (Die) plays. 11, 12, 13, ... Until 93 where D.T.D plays. Genuine hidden track, which I hadn't experienced before!

Buck-Tick, Kurutta Taiyou, another brilliant album. This CD is the 2002 remaster version and the booklet just has lyrics inside. It's another great album but the CD is just normal. As far as I'm concerned, Taiyou Ni Korosareta is one of the greatest songs of all time.

When it comes to Enstars I really won't lie it was a phase but having these in my collection is still cool so I don't regret it. I never let myself regret purchases. The CD is very pretty especially the Album Series one with all the signatures on the disc. In the end it's capitalism 1000 though so I can never trust too hard.

Eve, Official Number CD is pretty typical as well, though it came with a sticker which I put on my laptop. To me it isn't as strong but I was obsessed with Demon Dance Tokyo and there's some other cool tracks that I like.

La Roux CD, is also pretty typical. I grew up with this album and I found this at the charity shop so that's why I have it. I'm pretty fond of almost every one of the tracks and that's what makes it worthwhile to me. The booklet has a cool spread page picture of her, very retro looking.

I don't tend to buy CDs that often, it's only when I get obsessed with an album which means fondness for 9/10 songs and an urge to listen to them on repeat for a long time. I'm also music first with artists. I'm not usually so concerned about the members (Enstars was the exception of course and I've become a different man from that time).

I do a fair bit of streaming and I also don't bring the CD player out that often, you know? So these albums are cool functional collectibles to me that represent a time in my life. Next on the list is going to be The Cure, if I could actually choose a favourite album!

How to run an African economy.

1. First comes the heavy external borrowing from bilateral lenders, from the IMF, from the World Bank.

2. Next comes the ritual wastage and thievery of monies so borrowed.

3. Next come two options; borrow some more just to pay off accumulated interest on external loans, or beg the IMF, World Bank, et al., to give you more time to sort yourselves.

4. Finally, lather, rinse, repeat.

Kenya's August tax revenue collections fell by 5.7% to KSh 153.3 billion down from the KSh 162.5 billion raised in the same month last year. This is a rare drop which could be a result of the failure of the Finance Bill 2024 and the demonstrations that followed. The weakening economy is also a factor.

It was recently revealed that the government had to borrow to pay KSh 20 billion in interest. This is a clear sign of debt distress. It is like borrowing money to pay rent which is obviously not sustainable.

Internationally, the US this week lowered interest rates for the first time in four years. Yields on Kenyan Eurobonds have declined despite the recent ratings downgrades.

This might open an opportunity for the government to borrow externally at affordable rates. But such a move needs serious thought. External loans can be cheaper if the shilling remains stable but can be quite destabilising if the shilling weakens significantly.

Our debt needs to be restructured in order to lower its servicing costs and reduce the prospects of a debt-driven economic meltdown. We need to lower domestic interest rates to sustainable levels. This will help lift economic growth while keeping the debt servicing burden low.

Class of '09 So for reasons I think should be too obvious I kinda thought Kylar was hot as fuuuck. Yeah it's probably because he's a rapey white racist homophobic fratboy type who I would want to get shafted but you know how it is with me... If he's too nice I need him gone, if he's too horrible I need him gone. Fuck him up. Good thing he gets his legs ruined twice (the roof and the meds mixing) and or dies, and you know how I feel about guys I like dying. Not a big deal but persistent thought in the back of my head the whole time...

So a couple of friends talked about this game and I was hand sewing gloves and doing whatever so I had some time to watch it and also since it's fully voiced I could put it on in the background and pay attention entirely. I would have considered playing it but my computer is still broke and I hate my phone.

It's about Nicole, after a messed up upbringing moving to a new school, gets immersed in drug addiction, needing to never be sober, teen life and interacting with some of the worst people in the vicinity. It's described as an anti-dating sim since Nicole brings her negative manipulative energy into every relationship she's in. Like the unappetising flavour of a cantaloupe...

Teenage girls walking a tightrope over a pool of hungry pedophile sharks and white boys. Amazing voice performance from all the characters. The men sound stupid, the girls talk like junkies in a teen drama show and very realistic too, and the teachers and half of the guys talk like anime or South Park characters.

Another story to me where the women are very humanised and the men are like objects from top to bottom. I was even surprised there were so many different male tropes to choose from.

The story with Emily is very beautiful and makes a lot more sense than some of the others. Emily gets attached to Nicole, goes off her meds and her unregulated self proves to be more dangerous than Nicole wants to take seriously. I think this route is a situation where Nicole is less of the aggressor. Emily gets unhealthy attached to Nicole to the point where she's violent at every chance and at the end thinks they only have one choice left and it's dying together.

Another favourite was Nicole seducing Hunter to get revenge on Megan and I guess I like that one because it was kinda hot in ways 'steal your man' story. She gets Hunter to write stuff on his body and send photos of his dick and whatever. But he's also a Christian and I guess has no sense of mind about this kind of stuff. The art style makes me laugh. It's so anime that it feels satirical and I guess it's meant to? I used to love these satirical VNs years ago, Kusoge and a few others. Never got enough of them so I have some nostalgia for this presentation. Women with the dewdrop eyes and wrists thinner than a piece of paper and then there's all the geezers.

There's the original game, simply Class of '09 and then Class of '09: The Re-Up and I watched both. Original is her first year in this new school and Re-Up is the second but they're quite different. The first seems really edgy for sure. School shooter, lots of suicide, racist cult, Mein Kampf mentioned etc. Re-Up gets edgy with Nicole being shot by a cop, her mom dying after they abuse her last pill, and burning down a gay girl's house. I guess it's pretty comparable but a lot of the endings felt more artful and made more sense. Less outlandish than the first game. . Nicole is also a little less cruel in the original. In Re-Up she really comes into her own, is a lot more divisive and shit stirring like I think a lot of her drama and predicaments are self made as opposed to being something she walked into. I think her voice performance is also more fierce and impressive in Re-Up.

These days the edgy stuff doesn't matter to me but I thought some of it was funny like all of the pedo teacher's dialogue and line delivery. Also laughed so hard at Kylar being hospitalised and the EMT looking for his big gulp jug and the dialogue in general is funny I was always laughing. The situational comedy is a little less frequent in impressing me but in Re-Up I think it's a lot better. Karen skeeting scene, at the sex addict rehab, all of that.

I think it's pretty good and really well written but I dare not call it peak or life changing or anything like that but it has given me some stuff to think about especially for writing a more realistically based story (even though it's clearly exaggerated) there are some truths to be seen. I guess you can tell the writer clearly loves South Park.

The Hustler Fund's second product is introduced by President Ruto.

Kenya's sixth Madaraka Day, which was dubbed a "Celebration of Freedom and Enterprise," saw the launch of the Hustler Fund, also known as the Financial Inclusion Fund's second product. President William Ruto stated in his Madaraka Day address that the fund will bring collectively driven competitive market enterprise online and will make it easier for individuals to access funding through groups. "The Hustler Fund will use groups like chamas and saccos to overcome exclusion and obstacles to participation in credit, savings, social security, health insurance, and other socio-economic amenities in order to promote inclusion. This is the means by which we will utilize strategy and mechanical advancement to standard our lifestyle. The President stated, "We are committed to utilizing fintech to ensure that no one is left behind in the financial and entrepreneurial inclusivity revolution." The Head of State expressed his appreciation for the Hustler Fund's first product, individual loans, which he described as revolutionary and has "turned around the country's fintech, transforming it from a predatory ecosystem to a more responsible one."
