Allurance:

Do they cuddle together? YES. Allura mostly curls in on lances chest or his back while Lance allways has at least one arm on her and maybe leg

Who stays up later? Do they read in bed and cuddle or come to bed quietly later? Allura keeps wanting to do more meanwhile Lance would not want to skip his beauty sleep <333 (I don’t think either of them would read but they’d converse)

Who falls asleep on the couch/elsewhere by mistake and who pouts because they were left alone in bed? It depends is only one of them is watching tv or both! And they both would pout but I like to think allura does more because she’s gotten used to having the weight of Lance on the bed :3

Separate blankets? Separate beds? Same bed and I think they would have extra blankets so they could! I just imagine they have a big blanket though

Who wants all the pillows and who shakes their head in disbelief from their very reasonable single pillow? They’re both pillow hoarders <3 allura has multiple for her head and Lance likes them on his arms (they’re just like me fr)

Snoring? Maybe Lance for snoring?? 🤷

Restless sleeper/kicks in their sleep? Allura but when she’s really stressed :( Lance just slightly moves his foot side to side

Talks in their sleep? Allura, I mean I’m pretty sure she canonically does it?

Who has worse nightmares? Allura :( she survived a genocide and her first waking memory is her trying to reach out to her father

How do they handle their own/each other’s nightmares? Lance gently wakes Allura up (if she doesn’t herself) and rubs her back. Allura starts talking to Lance to soothe him and holds him (they both hold each other but u know what I mean)

Do they have trouble sleeping when they’re apart? YES. Allura likes the weight on the bed and Lance is used to having people all the time

Who wakes up earlier? Do they wake the other, slip out quietly, or just laze contentedly for a while? Lance wakes up naturally early but doesn’t get out of bed meanwhile Allura will stay sleeping <333

How do mornings go once they’re awake? (On relaxing days or an average day?) They both wash their face masks off together and Lance makes breakfast (he is a house husband you can’t change my mind)

Yes! I have a headcanon that Ryou kinda has a fucked up self regulating heating system so even though he’s bigger than Lance his body doesn’t know how to stay warm 💔 (it’s not that badly fucked up but he wants to be toasty) so they both share one but Ryou has an extra just for him

i find it so funny that after witnessing Hunk get launched into the air and knocked unconscious by a single punch, Lance's immediate first reaction was to angrily ask the guy who did it what the hell he was doing. Hey man I think you mi ght be in danger a little

New Fic: Training Program

Summary: Lance knows his close quarters combat isn’t the best, so when Shiro tells Lance he’s going to train him he should be relieved because maybe now he can actually protect his team. Except the training seems to be more of a beatdown punctuated by both fists and cruel words and now Lance has to hide the results of such before he makes tensions in Voltron even worse. But that’s harder than planned on as Keith is both very observant and very, very concerned.

“Do you think the Galra Empire will care that you’re tired?” Shiro interrupted him. “Do you think they’ll go easy on you because you’ve been fighting all day?” “No, but—” “There are no buts, Lance,” Shiro cut him off. “Either you want to be a Paladin your team can count on or you don’t.”

Story snippet:

Lance was not going to make a big deal out of this when Shiro had just been trying to help him and it wasn’t Shiro’s fault Lance was just that pathetic and it was Lance’s fault that Hunk had gotten hurt and then all of this was going to make things even more awkward and tense and it would be Lance’s fault and—

And oh, Keith was staring at him.

He’d said something, Lance realized.

And he hadn’t responded.

“What?” Lance croaked, feeling his cheeks heating again but Keith continued to only look more and more worried.

“I asked what happened,” Keith said, blunt as always.

“Nothing,” was the first thought that came to Lance’s mind and thus the first thing out of his mouth and Keith’s eyes narrowed.

“Nothing does not make you fucking faint in the middle of the kitchen, Lance,” he snapped. “This is not noth—” he broke off, eyes zeroing in where Lance could feel his wide-necked pajama shirt had slipped to expose a bit of his shoulder and oh Dios, there wasn’t—

“Are those bruises?” Keith cut himself off. “Are you hurt?”

“Lance.”

“Dance? I don’t think it’s a time for that.”

“Lance.”

“–a-Lot. Quite the nickname. I’ll go for it.”

“Stop changing the subject!”

“We’re not in class right now.”

“Lance!”

“Class is over! Time to go!”

“This is your room!”

“Exactly! See you in training!”

“Lan—Where are you—”

Dashing out of the room may not have been the best choice, but what other option was there?

When in doubt, follow the idiot’s choice.

“Lance!” Before the doors shut, Keith went through and out in the halls, immediately spotting the paladin in calling feet away from his head start. A part of Keith held an annoyance, though; for a guy that had longer legs with a history in swimming, it’s no surprise how speed can pick up in both a panic and jeans.

Good thing Keith’s stubborn.

“You can’t run forever!”

“Watch me—Sorry!”

“Lance?” Shiro questioned before his raised eyebrow went to Keith. “Keith, what are you—”

“Don’t worry! Got it under control! See you later!”

As much control he can get in running than how his mind was racing a recycled track of those words. Words that need valid verification, or else he’ll lose it worse than now. He’ll know it. He would play it off in missions, but he’ll know – and eventually Shiro when this is over. The last he needed was for anyone else to notice about this cat-and-mouse chase.

And possibly Lance felt the same. Taking a left turn, a “Quiznak!” was echoed before Keith caught on, stopping finally for his body to breathe. He never went towards the area of the castle before. Otherwise, he would have recognized the lone door at the end of the hall. If it weren’t for the individual standing in between, darting at him and the door with a near madness - or an attempt to calm down when exhausted as Keith was – he’d be a little curious of what that led to.

Again, however, Lance was ahead in the mind game.

One dash that threw him off, and Lance was already at the knob. Keith made it just in time, grabbing the door with a strength resistance, preventing Lance on slamming his fingers on the shut.

“Lance, c’mon! This is ridiculous!” His voice strained as his hold. Even though training was different between the pair, Keith making a habit of it like a normal workout, there was no doubt of Lance bearing a good deal of muscle work himself.

This was the nearest position of arm wrestling they can get, but instead of pinning with arm, it was the result on the door closing or opening wide.

“Ever heard… of occupied?” Lance’s arm was straining as much as his voice, the exhaustion coming out more. “Some of us prefer our privacy, too, you know?”

“It’s not a bathroom!”

“How would you know?!”

He didn’t, but it was no matter.

“Because… you’re being ridiculous!”

“Am not!”

“Are so!”

“Release the door!”

“You first, dammit!”

“Boys!”

Both paused, eyes widening despite the sweat running down their faces.

Keith then grimaced. Of course Shiro wasn’t going to let them go so easily.

“Where are you guys?”

Third time in a row was Lance’s streak, but Keith picked up on it about half a second. His footing would have been caught off balance if he didn’t expect Lance pulling him inside the room and closed the door, the two now standing in complete darkness.

Hear me out:

Shance

But Lance likes crossdressing as a woman {Ya'll can make up his "female" name lol}. So much so that everyone thinks he's a woman the entire time because they met him when he was crossdressing nearly 90% of the time.

At some point Shiro {or if ya wanna be really fucking angsty, Kuro/Kuron} finds out Lance is actually just a dude that likes crossdressing, and promises to keep it a secret.

Platonic or romantic? Your choice!

Would Lance wear wigs when crossdressing? Yes!

Would Lance wear makeup when crossdressing?

YES!!!

Basically like a "Reverse Pidge" situation. But it's only happened because he's a crossdresser XD

1: why doesn’t anyone talk about how heartbreaking this scene is

2: why doesn’t anyone talk about this episode?!?!

it’s actually very well written and serves as a set up for the much darker twist the show is taking

in this episode we learn:

-pidge would sacrifice a good amount of the universe to save her father. they’re the most logical and analytical on the team, yet all that goes out the window when her family gets involved. there’s an argument in the beginning of the episode that is very reminiscent of when pidge was going to leave voltron in season 1 and keith yells at them.

-honerva remembers that lotor is her son. this is a HUGE set up for season 8. she begins the phase 4 of the kuron project which leads to keith returning and becoming the black paladin. but she does all of this because she knows zarkon will kill lotor. she’s ok with lotor killing zarkon bc zarkon is merely a husk of the man he used to be. that realization definitely leads her down the path of “how can i restore my family” (cut to end of season 8).

-on the topic of project kuron, we see the effects of it with shiro lashing out and not being… very shiro like… but he gives lotor HIS BAYARD in the hostage exchange without telling the rest of the team. honerva calls for the beginning of phase 4, and we can see that phase 3 was the shiro that been with the team since he returned in season 3. he’s been living this jekyll and hyde type life with half kuron controlled by honerva and half real shiro.

-we see lance step up and give orders to the team. lance is the red paladin at this point in the series making him the right hand of voltron and this is one of the first times we see him step into that leadership position. watching him grow into that leadership position and learn to feel valued makes the end of season 8 hurt even worse. plus when shiro realizes they need backup he says “lance we could use a little help.” he already acknowledges lance as his right hand man even if lance doesn’t realize it yet. that’s the shiro part talking. lance gives an order and the team says “copy that” which is how lance normally responds to orders. it’s a very clear role reversal that i think is lovely in lance’s character arc (if only dreamworks actually finished his arc smh)

-lotor killing zarkon is proof he really did want peace. he wants nothing to do with his father, doesn’t want zarkon to be his father, and has no hesitation in killing him. lotor and voltron are fighting for the same thing, but simply have different methods. when they fight lotor, he seems hesitant to fire until allura says he’s like zarkon. that’s what throws him over the edge.

lotor becoming emperor of the galra after zarkon’s death shows that having a galra ally on the throne could be the key to peace (hello keith after season 8) so think about the set back in the war efforts when voltron kills the emperor, a former ally, and then disappears. maybe this is why the galra attacked earth? in the beginning on the series, they’re looking at a star map showing that the galra’s progress in conquering worlds is getting closer to reaching earth but hasn’t quite gotten there yet. so either and conquering has sped up and an insane rate, or earth was specifically targeted by the galra while voltron was gone.

-when zarkon is about to kill lotor, the team saves him. the first lion we see fire is allura implying that j was allura that saved lotor a life. that’s kinda big in her development or maybe she was just firing at zarkon who knows

So I was thinking about Voltron again and if I remembered rightly without rewatching the show, Shiro is only vulnerable with Keith. I know that either he or Kuron tried to open up to Lance before S7 but Lance brushed one of them off. Keith, on the hand, is at least emotionally vulnerable with Hunk and/or Lance. Like, several questions VLD show people:

If I'm actually remembering all that right, what the fuck?

Are there any fics that actually fucking address that while being set before S7?
