I was wondering if any of you would be interested in joining a Discord dedicated to the White Rose? The setting would be more intimate and friendly. It would allow us to learn, share and question even more. I have thousands of things to say that I don't want to publish, because I consider the information incomplete or unreliable. To have a place where I can share all this would be fantastic. Let me know if you are interested.

I don't care what skincolor nightcrawler has, if they cast him for another live Action movie, but for the love of god finally get someone german or someone who can actually speak german
If i get another american/australia guy doing a bad german accent i'm losing my fucking mind
I bet there would be enough black german actors who would be happy to have such an opportunity
I have a add on to my last ask, because i just had an epiphany: if they want to cast a nightcrawler for a new life action movie they should take elyas m'barek
He is a tunesian austrian actor and would fit kurt so well!
Sorry that it doesn't fit your nightcrawler being black headcanon though
__________________________
ok so honestly its not that hard to find a Black german I did a quick google and found this list.
HOWEVER
I did look up Elyas
Tumblr media
And honestly its not that apparent in this shot but in others his hair is p curly and honestly I think he's a PoC like to me he doesn't look white but I know that some non black north africans do refer to themselves as white. So honestly yeah its not that hard to find German speakers of color. And honestly i'd rather see a lightskinned man painted blue if they still wanted to do that.
Thanks!

"There is a point at which the law becomes immoral and unethical. That point is reached when it becomes a cloak for the cowardice that dares not stand up against blatant violations of justice."

I have colored these two pictures of the "Weiße Rose" (White Rose) resistance group. You can certainly get more out of it. I still find it fascinating how a little bit of color makes the picture much more real.

Photographs of Sophie Scholl, martyr of the White Rose, during her time in the Arbeitsdienst, or National Labor Service. Under the Third Reich all Germans were required to serve six months in the Arbeitsdienst at the age of nineteen. Proof of service was required to enroll in university. She had tried to avoid service by studying early childhood education and working as a kindergarten teacher after graduating high school in 1940, but when she tried to apply to the University of Munich she was told this substitution was no longer allowed.
Sophie detested the controlling rules enforced by the Arbeitsdienst- the prohibition of all books, the ban on church attendance, the uniforms, and the constant indoctrination. She looks miserable in the few photographs from that time, even in the top picture of her celebrating her twentieth birthday at Krauchenwies Camp near Sigmaringen, in the south of Germany.
Halfway through her six months of service she was told that she would be required to serve an extra six months as a wartime auxiliary. This delayed her enrollment so long that she didn’t begin university until 1942, when she was twenty-one.
At the University of Munich, while studying biology and philosophy, Sophie joined the White Rose, a resistance group started by her brother Hans and his friend Saint Alexander Schmorell. For her role in editing, printing, and disseminating anti-Nazi leaflets she was beheaded, along with Hans and their friend Christoph “Christl” Probst on February 22, 1943. Saint Alexander Schmorell, Wilhelm “Willi” Graf, and Professor Kurt Huber were beheaded in the following months, and nearly fifty people received jail or prison time in connection with the group.
Remember the German resistance!

Kurt Huber, no date.
Kurt Huber accepted full responsibility for having led his young friends on this path and said “My goal was the awakening of the student body not through an organization, but rather through a simple word. Not to any act of force, but rather to moral understanding of the existing egregious damages of our political lives. A return to clear moral principles, to a constitutional state, to mutual trust of a man to a man. This all is not illegal. Rather it’s the restoration of that which is legal. Within the meaning of Kant’s categorical imperative, I asked myself what would happen if this subjective principle of my actions were to become law.”
“Every morally responsible person would raise his voice with us against the menacing sovereignt of naked power over justice, against the menacing sovereignty of mere caprice against the will of what which is morally good. That was what I wanted to do, which I had to do…”

Here. Have some cute Family Von Snap pics on me.
Just ignore the fact that a chunk of Kurt’s foot is missing when they’re rocking the hammock.
