HAPPY SKYRIM DAY In an effort to actually use up some of my pile of sketchbooks and work on painting things other than portraits/character design I’ve begun a new moleskine watercolor sketchbook recently for the sole purpose of painting some of my video game screenshots with gouache. It’s been a challenge, but with time and practice I’m hopeful that by the end of this sketchbook the improvement will be noticeable. I hope you’ll follow along on this journey with me into new and exciting territory! Today’s painting, which is actually the first page in this sketchbook is a quick study of some mountains and trees from one of my many Skyrim screenshots, swipe for the image I was referencing while doing this warm up painting to get back into working with gouache. I’ll continue to use my other mediums while I work through this sketchbook, but every now and then you might see a gouache page pop up among the marker, watercolor, and digital illustrations on my feed.
