It’s definitely awkward to watch shows Dubbed, especially when you know the other roles of the voice actors.
I even have some other examples of characters who have the same VA like a DCLA Character.
Gérman and Angie are the Sheriff and the Therapist from Wednesday.
Maxi is Klaus Baudelaire.
Tamara is Larissa Weems.
Some swedish DCLA voice actors:
Francesca is Carly from ICarly, Mirabel Madrigal and as a kid she dubbed Lilo in Lilo and Stitch (I've literally GROWN UP with her voice). She also dubbed Kiki in Kiki's delivery service. Francesca got another voice actress in season 3 and she has dubbed G4 Pinkie Pie. She's also Jazmin in SL, iirc.
Esmeralda is literally EVERYWHERE and has been since the 80s essentially. She dubbed like half of the my little pony characters in the G3 films, also half the mlp characters in a re-dub of the 80s movies (the 80s dubs were unlicensed so they had to re-dub them xD). She was Sailor Moon. She was Jessie in Pokemon. She's someone in every Disney Channel show. I think she also dubs Sharon??? From the little I heard from the SL dub?
I am 70% sure that whoever dubbed Luna also dubbed Stephanie from Lazytown.
Nina's voice actress, when I heard her... she's been dubbing Skipper in every Barbie movie/show. I've also heard her on several disney channel dubs.
I've also heard Leon's voice actor quite everywhere.
Violetta's voice actor randomly dubbed Vanessa in Phineas and Ferb for some eps, otherwise Vanessa has another voice actress.
Marotti's voice actor is EVERYWHERE too. He also was in a swedish kids show in the 90s, so I've heard his voice as a teenage boy irl, and also heard his adult voice in various dubs.
And yeah, Gery is also Ámbar, and that's why I have trouble watching the swedish SL dub because I don't wanna think of Gery when I hear her.
I've SEEN MARCO'S VOICE ACTOR IRL. He was in a play I saw. I sat there like "???? I recognize his voice ???"

Y’know one of the things that really pisses me off about Sirius (besides the Ainu racism, mocking treatment of Ryoko, and overall flattering picture it paints of imperialism) is that it unironically treats Larissa and Tamara like innocent children. They committed genocide of the werewolves right along with everyone else in ep 3, and are much older than they look. The show likes to ignore that fact.

Hi! i made the very ambitious goal of watching 180 films directed by women this year. I study and love film so i know about the big female directors like Varda, Coppola, DuVernay, but i was wondering what were some hidden gems you would recommend? Im open to all genres, eras, languages, just hoping to watch and learn a lot
Sounds like a lot of fun!
Okay, so I might double up on directors you already know because even when talking people who seem to be familiar with women film directors there are usually knowledge gaps even with directors with prominent careers who have won major awards. With the more prominent directors you can just go to imdb and go diving through their careers since they’ve done a lot of work worth seeing. For the more obscure directors I’ve highlighted some of their prominent films in parenthesis.
Prominent directors:
Kelly Reichardt, Vera Chytilová, Ann Hui, Naomi Kawase, Ildikó Enyedi, Maren Ade, Céline Sciamma, Maïwenn, Dorothy Arzner, Elaine May, Shirley Clarke, Doris Wishman, Barbara Hammer, Amy Heckerling, Lina Wertmüller, Gillian Armstrong, Margarethe von Trotta, Sally Potter, Lynne Ramsay, Andrea Arnold, Nicole Holofcener, Lucrecia Martel, Joan Micklin Silver, Susan Seidelman, Penelope Spheeris, Helma Sanders-Brahms, Larissa Shepitko, Barbara Kopple, Ida Lupino, Lone Scherfig, Tamara Jenkins, Mia Hansen-Løve, Allison Anders, Catherine Corsini, Anne Fontaine, Susanne Bier
More obscure choices:Cheryl Dunye (The Watermelon Woman), Maja Miloš (Clip), Claudia Weill (Girlfriends), Rama Burshtein, Cate Shortland, Sandra Goldbacher, Rebecca Zlotowski, Ronit Elkabetz (Gett), Kathleen Collins (Losing Ground), Daniela Thomas (Vazante), Reed Morano (I Think We’re Alone Now), Alice Wu (Saving Face), Eliza Hittman, Chloé Zhao, Julia Loktev (The Loneliest Planet), Wanda Jakubowska (The Last Stage), Valérie Donzelli (Declaration of War), Chloé Robichaud, Anna Muylaert (The Second Mother), María Luisa Bemberg (I, the Worst of All), Gillian Robespierre, Ana Lily Amirpour, Agnieszka Smoczynska, Aurora Guerrero
Also if you are looking for more recs I just put out my 52 favourite films of the decade list so that might be worth perusing.
Anyway please hit me up if you need any more suggestions or even just to let me know if you loved or hated anything I recommended! Have fun!
