So, 911twt is absolutely crazy right now and we can see a few ring leaders emerge
But please remember, Buck and Tommy are probably texting right now about future dates so let’s keep our heads high as we do not need to theorize about “Lesbian Abuela”, or “Lasagna Theory” and the likes to put our characters together, because they already are
Enjoy the arts : fics, edits, manips, I even saw people RP Buck and Tommy which is a true sign that the earth is healing imo
Enjoy our side, check on theirs in case they get to rowdy just so you can prepare yourself but ignore them, that’s the best we can do
3 weeks left and then a few weeks of crazyness when Buddie isn’t canon and we should be at peace for the summer once they get distracted by an other show
Let’s keep at it 🫡

Most BuckTommy shippers adore Buck and Eddies friendships. None of us are celebrating anything but the B*ddie shipper losing their minds and imploding. Most of us are laughing at the crazy theories they are coming up to twist Ryan’s words to prove B*ddie is happening next season.
They wanted a cheating storyline, they got it.
exactly. i'm not gonna say that no bucktommy shippers want the friendship to crash, we are not immune to the bad apples, we've just gotta make sure we're tossing them out of the bushel when they crop up, and i have seen people getting called out, anons getting shut down, but for the most part we understand and agree that buck and eddie's relationship is extremely important to both them and the show.
but yeah, so long as they're gonna mock us for thinking that our canon ship that has shown no signs of being anything other than happy is somehow gonna crash and burn in 2 eps (since lou's also not in 708), we're gonna mock them for thinking that reposting a 10 second clip and talk of a failed lasagna means their ship is gonna go canon

How are the gay firefighters? What's the couch theory?
Gay firefighters are great, 911anon!
Couch theory hmmmm how best to summarize.
There’s a lot more layers to this but on a base level:
Earlier this season, Buck is cooking for Eddie and Christopher (Lasagna and it’s his third try) when Christopher makes fun of him for not having a couch. Buck reveals that he associates his couches with his relationships and that he’s worried about picking a new one (couch/relationship).
In the last episode, we see that his mother (who he’s largely estranged from) has bought him a new couch. Try as he might, Buck can’t fall asleep on it both due to interruptions and apparent discomfort. When feed up with people visiting, he heads to Eddie’s where falls asleep on Eddie’s couch before Eddie even returns from the kitchen with drinks.
Buck’s actor (Oliver) has revealed that the couch Buck’s mom bought won’t last.
More in-depth analysis here, here, and here
Basically, couch theory is a canonical idea about Buck relating couches to his relationships with people.

Wasn't the couch theory connected to buddie because of overanalyzing shippers? I like buddie amd read fics but when i watched the seasons before reading fanfics i never really saw them as a ship before i just got into the ship because of a good fic
Want to start off by saying that I got caught up in the hype of "couch theory" during/after 6x01, so when I post about the signs being there re: Buddie not gong canon this season - or maybe ever, with that finale - it's because of what happened from episode two -> onward. Couch theory was a perfect storm of circumstances. Brand new season = brand new story. Buck and Eddie both single at the same time since 4A. Buck confiding in Eddie about how he connects couches to girlfriends. Buck making lasagna not just for himself and Eddie, but Chris, too, showing the audience how the three of them still are their own family unit (in their own way) through everything. Add to that the blessing (and curse, depending on how people look at things) that is Ryan and Oliver natural, subconscious (reminder that Oliver used that word specifically back in 2021) ability to connect on screen, to the point where some people want to believe every single detail is purposely for the benefit of a Buddie love story (instead of two friends and actors who can't always explain what makes them "work"), and... ...the reaction was inevitable. Things took a turn when people could not and would not separate couch theory from Eddie *despite* what we were watching on a weekly basis. Buck and Eddie have no more personal moments together after 6x01? It's all part of the grander plan. Aisha says Ryan doesn't really know much about the coma dream? She's teasing us. Of course Eddie is going to play a central role. Eddie doesn't end up getting time alone with Buck at his bedside or making an appearance in the coma dream? CLEARLY there are good reasons for that! Trust the process! And it just kept on going like that literally right up until Buck and Natalia became canon, because the hope from fandom's POV was that Buck was going to realize they weren't a good fit and end the season hanging out with the Eddie (+ maybe Chris) on the Diaz couch. Once people made up their minds that season six was going to be THE year, there was no looking back. People wanted canon!Buddie, but they also wanted to be able to laugh in the face of everyone who thought it wasn't going to happen. Now that it didn't work out the way they wanted? Who cares who's "right" about Buddie in the end? We're all just here for a good time! (The folks who've had to read the words "long form storytelling" and "media literacy" for months would beg to differ, but this fandom isn't known for acknowledging mistakes. They just block/mute/unfollow anyone who points out when they jump the gun, lol.)

Monster Food Theories (part 2)
(A multi-part essay because I love world-building.)
In part 1 I discussed the theory that monster food is actually made from physical food that’s been infused with magic, and therefore monster food is limited to what can be farmed in the Underground.
In this next part, I’m going to springboard off that idea and talk about what foods exist in the Underground (and therefore what crops and livestock monsters likely have.)
The very first thing I want to look at is what food canonically exists in the game. I’m going to break this up into two sections...
1) Food We Interact With Directly (Healing items we can pick up and get information on.)
* Monster Candy - Has a distinct, non-licorice flavor.  Heals 10 HP. * Spider Donut - A donut made with Spider Cider in the batter.  Heals 12 HP. * Spider Cider - Made with whole spiders, not just the juice.  Heals 24 HP. * Butterscotch Pie - Butterscotch-cinnamon pie, one slice.  Heals ALL HP. * Snail Pie - Heals some HP.  An acquired taste. Heals one less than max HP. * Nice Cream - Instead of a joke, the wrapper says something nice.  Heals 15 HP. * Bisicle - It’s a two-pronged popsicle, so you can eat it twice.  Heals 11 HP. * Unicicle - It’s a SINGLE-pronged popsicle.  Wait that’s just normal... Heals 11 HP. * Cinnamon Bunny - A cinnamon roll in the shape of a bunny.  Heals 22 HP. * Astronaut Food - For feeding a pet astronaut.  Heals 21 HP. * Crab Apple - An aquatic fruit that resembles a crustacean.  Heals 18 HP. * Sea Tea - Made from glowing marsh water.  Increases SPEED for one battle.  Heals 10 HP. * Abandoned Quiche - A psychologically damaged spinach egg pie.  Heals 34 HP. * Temmie Flakes - It’s just torn up pieces of construction paper.  Heals 2 HP. * Dog Salad - Recovers HP (Hit Poodles.)  Heals 2/10/30/ALL HP. * Instant Noodles - Comes with everything you need for a quick meal!  Heals 4/15/90 HP. * Hot Dog...? - The “meat” is made out of something called a “water sausage.”  Heals 20 HP. * Hot Cat - Like a hot dog, but with little cat ears on the end.  Heals 21 HP. * Junk Food - Food that was probably once thrown away.  Heals 17 HP. * Starfait - A sweet treat made of sparkling stars.  Heals 14 HP. * Glamburger - A hamburger made of edible glitter and sequins.  Heals 27 HP. * Legendary Hero - Sandwich shaped like a sword.  Increases ATTACK when eaten.  Heals 40 HP. * Steak in the Shape of Mettaton’s Face - Huge steak in the shape of Mettaton’s face.  You don’t feel like it’s made of real meat... Heals 60 HP. * Popato Chisps - Regular old popato chisps.  Heals 13 HP. (Note:  I’ve chosen to leave the Hush Puppy off of this list, as its description refers to it as a spell.  I’m also excluding the foods that can only be found by digging around in the game files - Puppydough Ice Cream, Pumpkin Rings, Rock Candy, Croquet Roll, Ghost Fruit, and Stoic Onion.)
 2) Food We Only See, or Hear About Through Character Dialogue (I did my best to be thorough here, but please let me know if I missed any and I’ll add them in!)
* Hamburger  (For sale at Grillby’s) * Fries  (For sale at Grillby’s) * Cheese Fries  (Undyne likes them, for sale at Grillby’s) * Ketchup  (Found at Grillby’s / Sans’ Hot Dog Stand) * Mustard  (Found at Sans’ Hot Dog Stand) * Relish  (Found at Sans’s Hot Dog Stand) * Spaghetti  (Made by Papyrus and Undyne) * Lasagna/Ravioli/various other pastas   (Mentioned by Papyrus) * Brewskis (aka Beer)  (Mentioned in a prank call) * Sugar  (In Undyne’s kitchen) * Soda  (In Undyne’s kitchen / Alphys’ Lab) * Hot Chocolate  (Mentioned by Undyne) * Marshmallows  (Mentioned by Undyne) * Golden Flower Tea  (In Undyne’s kitchen / Offered by Asgore) * Grapes  (Undyne talks about Mettaton eating them) * Pizza  (Undyne and Alphys both talk about ordering some) * Limes  (Undyne mentions eating them whole) * Cucumbers  (Come up when Undyne and Papyrus talk about spa treatments) * Carrots  (Mentioned by Asgore on the tapes in the true lab) * Lollipops  (Papyrus mentions getting them from the lady who runs the inn) * Ice cream  (Mentioned multiple times by multiple characters) * Espresso (Mentioned by Red Bird at Grillby’s) * Cake  (Mettaton specifically breaks the ingredients down into SUGAR, MILK, EGGS during his cooking segment) * Artificial Ingredients and Chemicals  (Also mentioned by Mettaton)
(Note: I’m leaving edamame off the list because while Toriel mentions it, she does it as a joke because she’s after the pun.  It’s possible that monsters have edamame, or it could just be something she’s aware exists in the world in general.)
So! Looking at this list, and cross referencing with recipes to find the most basic necessary ingredients to make everything, I can break things down more neatly into categories of available food:
STARCHES * Wheat  * Potatoes * Barley
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES  * Apples * Grapes * Limes * Tomatoes * Cucumbers * Spinach PROTEIN AND DAIRY * Snails * Water sausages * Eggs * Milk
HERBS AND SPICES * Cinnamon * Mustard Seed
MISC * Salt * Sugar * Oil  * Coffee * Chocolate * Assorted artificial ingredients and chemicals  * Golden flowers (unique to the Underground?) * Hops (only because of the mention of “brewskis”)
(Note: I’m excluding a few healing items from contributing to this list.  The Astronaut Food’s origin is nebulous - it sounds like it could possibly be human food that fell from the surface and landed in the dump.  Temmie Flakes are construction paper and not actually food, even if they are technically consumable.  Dog Salad is clearly an outlier and should not be counted.)
When broken down to its base components, it’s a pretty small list.  Monsters don’t seem to have a lot to work with.
A lot of their foods revolve around the same few staple ingredients: Flour, eggs, sugar, and milk products.  From that we can take a guess that there are wheat fields somewhere in the Underground.  Likewise, they likely keep chickens as well for eggs (though other birds like ducks might be a possibility too.)  Sugar and milk have more options.  Sugar might come from sugar cane or sugar beets, while milk could come from a variety of animals, but I think goats or sheep are more likely than cows for a variety of reasons (mainly that cows might be too much of a resource drain to support long term.)
Interestingly, we never get any indication that monsters eat animals besides snails.  The information we get on the hot dogs and steak make it clear that they’re not made out of meat (and if the steaks aren’t meat, it feels reasonable that the hamburgers aren’t either.)  This makes sense, since the Underground has limited space and resources and might not be able to support farms dedicated to raising animals for meat, and/or might not be able to meet the demands of a populace that wants to eat meat regularly.  If it’s eaten at all, meat might be a rare treat.  Otherwise, it looks like the monster population could be largely vegetarian.
With a basic list of crops, we can also make a guess at what sort of alcohols might be available in Grillby’s bar. Monsters have apples, grapes, potatoes, and sugar, so we can guess that in addition to beer (since it gets mentioned specifically), monsters could also have hard cider, wine, brandy, whisky, rum, vodka, and moonshine.
If we want to be a bit more generous and include possible foods and foods that didn’t quite make it officially into the game, we can add back in edamame, pumpkins, and onions.
And, just for fun and going off of nothing except the environment of the game, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think monsters might be able to round out their pantries with a few other foods that occur naturally in the caverns.  Mushrooms show up in the damper areas of the game, so it’s not far fetched to think that there might be a few edible varieties available. Likewise, we see streams and marshes in Waterfall that support life.  It’s possible that there are fish, crayfish, or shellfish living in there, or possibly other edible plants besides the water sausage.
This went a bit longer than I originally planned, so in the next part I’ll talk about what might make monster food inherently different from human food (even without monsters intentionally doing anything to it), and possibly theories about how and why monsters ended up with this specific, limited variety of foods they seem to be working off of.

@skymma | headcanon meme ( accepting )
🍸: does your muse drink alcohol?
Yes, she does. When and how much varies a bit between verses, but generally speaking, it was when she was undercover when Siri built up a pretty high alcohol tolerance, and after which when she’ll enjoy a drink from time to time. She doesn’t drink a lot very often, because she doesn’t like not having complete control of herself and her body at all times. But she does drink alcohol, she can probably drink a fair number of people under the table ( canon and modern jedi verses she, of course, has the advantage of the Force detoxing her blood alcohol level much quicker than a non Force-sensitive’s ) and from time to time she’ll go on a bender just to make sure she doesn’t lose her alcohol tolerance because she doesn’t drink a lot regularly.
🍟: what’s your muse’s favourite comfort food?
Whatever’s on hand? In theory she probably would like something warm and cozy as comfort food ( lasagna comes to mind ) but in practice 1: she can’t cook and 2: when she’s in need of comfort food she’s not going to go out of her way to find it -- or heat it up if she does find something comfort-foody and she’s just going to eat it cold.
Also probably ice cream, because it’s quick and easy and all you need is the carton and a spoon.
Another factor, though, is that Siri isn’t really a comfort eater. When she’s stressed or upset, she’d rather go find something to hit than find something to eat, or otherwise find something to keep busy. Sitting down and eating something isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind, especially when she’s alone.
☀️: is your muse an optimist, a pessimist, or somewhere in between?
She’d say she’s a realist, so: somewhere in between. Siri absolutely has pessimistic tendencies -- she’s seen some shit, some really bad people and situations, and regardless of verse her job always keeps her in the position of dealing with the not so shiny happy parts of life. She can get pretty dark about it sometimes, but at the same time, she does genuinely want to help make things better, and she does genuinely believe that they can. ( Otherwise what would be the point of trying so hard, all the time. ) She doesn’t believe in total despair and that there’s nothing no one can ever do even when things are seemingly hopeless, and she’s also very capable of keeping light and seemingly un-stressed when the going gets rough. In that sense, she also has optimistic tendencies, so she’s definitely somewhere in between. Which way she sways depends a little on her current mood and mental state.

magician!hal au
can i tell y’all what i thought was going to happen for literally my entire reading experience of the volstovic cycle?
I didn’t have a whole thing mapped out but i had this one incredibly specific and incredibly not canon idea that i was positive beyond doubt would happen
so get this i totally believed that hal was a magician and that everyone, including himself, simply didn’t know it yet
why? well because The Gay of course
because in chapter two while hal is reading to comfort royston’s sorrows roystons monologue reads
Tumblr media
and i was like “omg hals a magician and he has an antithetical talent to roystons and roystons going to train him and they’re going to be invincible together omg” (i could have sworn there was a part that talked about how duos with opposite powers were unbeatable but i cant find it it feels like the amery discourse all over again)
and so i continued to read the books with this firmly in my head and it just never happened but did that stop me from making olympic sized reaches to explain why every time hal says “i wish i had a talent/i wish i weren’t so useless” he was actually doing magic without knowing it?
no
for example, the most antithetical thing from combustion is chemically reduction (the process of gaining electrons during a chemical reaction, whereas combustion loses electrons). Likewise you could say that being less technical about it that because royston’s combustion is specific to flame, a true opposite would be extinction (as in fire extinction) but both these examples rely on chemical output.
and process control would be a way for hal to do things like manipulate chemical output of someone’s body for instance. or stopping royston from accidentally combusting something. and this is all very broad and held together  by strings but my theory was that the foreshadowing of royston talking about magicians and assistants was building up to a reveal of hal actually having powers and the climax of it seemed like it would be the plague, no?
so the idea in my head was that royston lived for however long because hal was unknowingly altering royston’s body chemistry to keep him alive during the plague “but if hal was a magician he would have it too” buuuuut not as quickly as royston because the magicians with the purest concentrations of magic got it first and the worst according to the esar and hal could easily be a “mutt” as one of the airmen put it
plus i just like to imagine the look on royston’s face when he realized this after royston accidentally blew up a lasagna and hal accidentally extinguished the explosion before it could do much damage and they both just stare at the lasagna in shock for like. 20 minutes.
