mothman
sup so my last infodump post didn't get a lot of notes but im here for fun not for reach so lets fuckin go lads this is also one of my top 5 cryptids i love mothman also doing research for this i found out the mothman museum does mothman coffee and i need to purchase it now (heres the link for anyone else who feels the same abt mothman coffee) the majority of sources for this are wikia and wikipedia pages as the lore surrounding mothman is difficult to decipher and I am in the UK so i cannot access some american sites as I say here, therefore I would urge you to take that for what it is and understand i can't find everything.
Mothman is a creature of West Virginia folklore who is humanoid and is primarily spotted around the Point Pleasant area. Sightings of mothman are said to have started around November of 1966. From what I've seen the existence of the Point Pleasant Mothman (or any other mothman) hasn't been proven (unfortunately), and most photographic evidence is debated and primarily any other evidence is anecdotal.
The first documented record of mothman in a newspaper was in the Point Pleasant Register, dated at 16/11/66 (or 11/16/66 for American folks) titled: "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something". The story then continued to spread when more national papers picked up the story which spread it across the states. The mothman is considered by skeptics to be sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons.
Mothman was popularized by the book "Mothman Prophecies" in 1975 by John Keel (which was later adapted into a film in 2002) and there is an annual festival dedicated to Mothman every third weekend in September at Point Pleasant. There, there is also a mothman statue which has a camera streaming on it.
The original sighting was, the 15th of November 1966 and Linda Scarberry, Roger Scarberry, Steve Mallette and Mary Mallette were all driving towards a remote "hang-out spot" in Point Pleasant known as the "TNT Area" (which was the site of a former ww2 munitions plant). They then claim to have seen two large red eyes which reflected the light from the car headlights. It was noticed first by Steve, who pointed it out to the rest of them, which is when they realized the eyes belonged to a creature. The creature was later described by Linda Scarberry as a "slender, muscular man" and around 7 feet tall, with white wings, although she couldn't discern its face due to a 'hypnotic effect' from it's eyes. Panicking, the witnesses drove away rapidly and claim that the creature followed them, flying and making a screeching sound. They said that it pursued them until Point Pleasant city limits.
In the following days, after local newspaper reports, people reported similar sightings, however these were believed by Mason County sheriff George Johnson that these sightings were due to an unusually large heron.
There have, however, been mentions of specific traits of the mothman such as when a flashlight was aimed at the mothman (by contractor Newell Partridge, according to him, the eyes glowed "like bicycle reflectors". He also blamed buzzing noises, believed to be from his television, and the disappearance of his german shepherd dog on the creature.
Wildlife biologist Robert Smith, at the West Virginia University spoke to reporters and told them that the descriptions and sightings seem to fit the Sandhill Crane and the bird must have wandered out of its migration route and therefore it was unrecognized initially.
Following the Silver Bridge collapse of 1967, which brought about the untimely death of 46 people, the incident brought about the legend of Mothman being an omen, which connected the sightings and the collapse.
Mothman has become more of an urban legend, developing into part of the Point Pleasant tourism trade, including as mentioned the yearly Mothman festival, which I someday hope to go to. There are numerous different photos of mothman, which to my knowledge haven't been proven, however that's the extent of my knowledge on them as the websites are blocked in my country.
So yeah, that's the man, the moth and the legend.

Hello everyone! How long has it been since one of my Overly Long Analysis?
God, I missed being able to do this, so, to celebrate, this one will be a 3 parter on yesterday's lore!
As always I'll be talking about the characters exclusively unless stated otherwise.
The Dialogue is color-coded so we'll have: Sapnap, Eryn, Michael, Punz, Tommy, Sam, Jack, Dream
Everything under the cut
First up is Sapnap's stream: Late Thanksgiving Stream On Dream SMP (LORE) FINALE because after the last 2 streams my boy deserves to be in the spotlight
Starting off strong with a "wtf is happening, why is Sapnap like this?". In all seriousness though, they were just messing around and having fun at the start. Sapnap, Punz, and Callahan just goofing off together.
Sapnap canonically hates NFTs. George is still sleeping.
Tumblr media
Dadboyhalo moment, reminding his kid to feed the horse he stole properly.
Eryn may have just joined Kinoko Kingdom. Karl is canonically watching Over The Garden Wall (good choice).
The bell in the Prime Church is gone, which could become an interesting detail for later.
Glad to know that Sapnap's first instinct when seeing any type of pet is still murder.
"Why is he [Dream] in there? I've barely gotten the whole- why is he even in there?" "He's in there because he didn't pay me enough" "He's in there because he did some fucked up shit Michael" "What- what did he do?" "He wanted to control everyone on the server and he, well, he tried to take everyone's-"
We finally got someone trying to explain to one of the newcomers what Dream has done. It's interesting that Punz immediately made it about himself while Sapnap was trying to explain that Dream had hurt everyone.
"Okay Michael fine, you wanna know- you wanna know why he's in there?" "Yes" "He's fucked up, alright? He was my friend but he's fucked up, okay? He wanted to control everyone" "So do you think he should be in there?" "Yes" "For how long? (...) Because I never got a straight answer. I don't know what he did past trying to control people" "He did fucked up shit. You see this fish [Beckerson] Michael?" "Yeah?" "You see this fish? Beckerson? He took- he tried to take Beckerson from me. Beckerson! You know who Beckerson is?!" "I don't know who Beckerson is" "Beckerson is the first pet on the server" "And he tried to take- why?" "Because he wanted to have power over me like he wanted to have power over everyone"
I apologize for cutting out Eryn's lines here, but this is rather long as is and he was mostly just agreeing with Sapnap. That said it's really interesting to see Sapnap try to explain everything, mostly because we finally have someone who is trying, but also because he has such a unique perspective on things. He used to be Dream's friend and still cares about him and it hurts him that Dream would try to have power over him. It hurts him to know what kind of person his friend became.
And Michael's skepticism makes sense in the situation. As he mentioned, he never actually got an explanation about anything. He never got specific actions, just general statements on why Dream's a bad guy.
"But I still love him, Michael! I still love him" (reiterating the point that Sapnap never stopped caring)
"Listen, listen, Michael, you just need to listen to the man, he said he's [Dream] fucked up-" "And what did he do to you? What did he do to you?" "I- I don't know. I'm just in it. I'm just in it" "So you are blindly following then?" "No no, I just, Michael, I just don't care" "But have you heard any other opinions?" "I mean, I mean. At the end of the day Michael..." "I don't think you've heard any other opinions"
I think this one was a really interesting exchange. Both of them are new and both of them are completely ignorant to the history of the server, but it's interesting to see how differently they approach their lack of knowledge.
Eryn doesn't really care that much. Just in general. The two things he seems to care about so far are chaos and Tommy. Everything else is just generally inconsequential to him. Whether Dream is actually a bad guy or not it doesn't impact him.
For Michael it's the exact opposite. He wants to get to the truth, that seems to be his main character drive. He isn't satisfied with just adopting someone else's opinions on the matter, especially not if he's not provided with any compelling reason to do so.
And it's very clear that they don't understand each other. They're talking past each other because to both of the the way the other has of dealing with life is inconceivable.
"Michael, even though Dream is fucked up I still care about him-" "Do you?" "But he's gotta stay in prison" "For how long?" "I don't know. As long as it takes for him to stop being fucked up"
Another little thing I wanted to point out here: Michael keeps asking how long Dream deserves to be in prison for, because that's how it normally works. You serve your sentence and that's it. And that's how some people in the fandom seem to view it as well. But, here's the thing, Dream wasn't locked up to be in prison. He was locked up because he had the Revive Book, otherwise, he would have been killed. The prison was the only option for him to stay alive because nobody on the whole server felt safe with him being out.
"He took away everyone's most prized possession! He took away my fish, he took away Tommy's Axe of Peace" (...) "I think he took Tom's discs also" "Oh yeah shit, you're right, that's way more important. He took away Tommy's discs" "Yeah I heard that one" "He tried to take Skeppy, he tried to steal Skeppy!" "He tried to- he took Skeppy. He took a whole ass person!" "He took him and put him in a box" "That's fucked up he literally kidnapped Skeppy" "Okay, like, Michael, he- he- he put Skeppy in a box to control Badboyhalo" "See nobody had explained that part to me, that is pretty fucked up. Now that I think about it maybe it's good that he is in there [the prison]"
Okay, 3 things I want to quickly say about this:
1) Sapnap recognizing the importance of the discs out loud is so important to me. Just anyone that isn't Tommy recognizing that, yes, they've had a huge impact. They are important even if they're pretty basic items.
2) Eryn is surprisingly knowledgeable for someone who generally doesn't care to ask. I'm guessing he probably learned about the Skeppy cage and Tommy's discs off-screen. No idea if it was from stumbling on the attachment vault or from Tommy himself.
3) To all of those thinking the Skeppy cage was just a silly bit with no consequences: how does it feel to be so wrong? Because that's what convinced Michael of the fact that Dream should probably stay in prison. Because everyone here was pretty horrified by Dream's actions.
"Micheal, Michael, Michael, from what I've heard, from what I've heard he bombed an entire country just for the shits and giggles" (okay, he definitely learned his information from Tommy because Tommy was one of the few who heard Dream's spiel about destroying L'Manburg because it was fun)
Eryn actually mentioned seeing the 3/4 Syndicate members and finding it rather shady, so it's nice to see that that had consequences.
Niki joining trying to be as casual as possible and immediately making everyone suspicious because none of them had heard the alarm yet and she mentioned it unprompted. That's a big fail right there.
Sam comes in yelling at everyone to go toward the prison and finally, they actually do. Tommy also arrived. There's a bit of fighting where everyone suspects Sam of lying to them about Dream's escape.
"Tommy, Tommy, I wouldn't lie about this Tommy" (immediately going to reassure him instead of everyone else. Awesamdad moment)
"Tommy, where are you?" (Sapnap also looking for Tommy to keep him safe)
"If Sam isn't kidding and Dream's actually breaking out this is the worst possible fucking thing that's happened" "This is- this is not a fucking joke guys" "Tommy, Tommy calm down" "Don't- don't fucking tell me to calm down Michael, you don't know-" "Tommy they don't know, they don't know. They don't know Tommy" (general noises of confusion from Eryn and Michael) "Excuse me? What is wrong with Dream?" "They don't know, I've tried to explain it to them" "Eryn, You don't think Dream's that bad?" "I don't- I haven't met the guy!" "We just have not met him, we don't know" "Okay, you fucks listen to me: no matter what anyone tells you on this server, Dream- Dream is the worst man on this entire server. He's done thi- he's put me in exile, he's left me to die, he has killed me! Just- he's put me through shit that no one should ever see just for the sake of his own fun, alright?!"
So proud of my boy for being able to finally explain how much Dream hurt him even while having a full-blown panic attack. This is the closest he's ever gotten to mentioning the abuse as well. Also, Sapnap supporting him all the way through while also trying to explain that the other two aren't doubting him out of malice but just genuine ignorance.
"No nononono we, we know Sam Tommy and Sam- Sam doesn't fuck around like this" (Sapnap acting as the voice of reason after everyone started doubting Sam once more)
"Eryn, Michael, listen to me: if Dream comes near you, if he interacts with you, he is not a good man, alright? He'll dig his claws into you and manipulate you from within. Please, whatever you do, listen to me right now if he gets out then everything is gonna turn upside fucking down, alright?"
It's really fascinating how Tommy describes things. Wilbur's brand of manipulation is an insidious little thing, a bug crawling into your brain and making you take wrong decisions. Dream's brand of manipulation is more overtly destructive. It claws at you from within and warps your perception of the world, turning it upside down. Tommy's speeches are always really simple and direct, but they get the point across wonderfully.
"Sapnap just let me stay with you- let me st-" "Just stay with me Tommy, he won't be able to get you if you're with me" (Sapnap once more acting as a shield to protect Tommy from Dream, a nice callback to the Disc War Finale)
Dream, Techno, Connor, and Ranboo come out of the prison and Sapnap doesn't hesitate a second to start attacking Dream and yelling at everyone to help Sam.
"No I can't get hit by him [Dream], not again, I can't go through this" "Tommy stay back, just stay back" (In case anyone doubted that Dream's abuse towards Tommy was also canonically physical, here's your answer. Also Sapnap taking a moment from his fighting to help Tommy calm down)
"Michael, Eryn, listen to me, if he [Dream] makes any contact with you, if he makes any- any- any measure to interact with you do not believe anything he says. He's a manipulator and a liar" (Tommy still focusing on getting his point through to the 2 new members since they'd be more vulnerable to Dream's manipulation)
Sapnap mistakingly killed Cottonball and that's the first time you can hear instant regret for killing a pet.
"Don't focus the Wither, focus Dream!" "But the- but the Wither will destroy everything" "Who gives a shit, Dream will do way worse!"
Reminder to everyone that Jack hates Dream more than literally everyone else on the server. He was there to see him destroy everything time and time again, he was there to fight against him on Doomsday, he's seen what happens when Dream is free, and Jack is willing to get some of the server destroyed if it means avoiding that.
"Niki was spawning Withers! I knew she was a fucking part of this Punz, I told you" "Yeah, what a fuck?" (I suppose that even working with Dream, Punz wouldn't have known that. Either way, Niki managed to fool no one from the start)
They meet up with Hannah and Boomer again when chasing Dream and the Syndicate and Hanna is immediately in favor of killing Dream. I didn't remember whether she had an opinion on him or not but guess that answers the question.
Also, there is another bit of infighting where Eryn is saying that they should leave Dream and the rest alone, he mostly doesn't understand what's happening and is decidedly confused. On the other side, Punz, Sapnap, and Hannah are very vehement about NOT leaving them alone because they are aware of what they'd done and don't want a repeat of that.
"I know where he [Dream] went but I'm not telling you guys" "Why would you not tell us?!" "I don't think we should kill him! Everyone deserves redemption!" "Eryn, you were not fucking here to make that call!"
Jack being based as f*ck once more. The problem with Eryn's line of thinking here is that he doesn't know. Much like Phil or Techno his actions are based on ignorance. He doesn't know Dream, doesn't know if he'd even want to redeem himself and he doesn't know what he's done. And Jack is right, Eryn wasn't there, that isn't his decision to make.
Also, Michael's makes a point here that he is also interesting. He understands why Eryn is struggling with this decision because he too is ignorant. He never met Dream and it's hard to make a decision while they're under so much stress. But also he thinks that, after Tommy's speech especially, they have to at least keep tab on Dream's whereabouts even if the two of them don't intend to kill him.
"There's no time for this shit! Did you not here- Tommy not fucking get through your that he's a- what he's done?" (I have such a hard time thinking that this guy is supposed to still be one Dream's side with how upset he sounds about them not taking Tommy's words seriously enough)
The group splits up and Sapnap decides to only take Punz with him to fight Dream as they're the only ones who may have a chance.
"Who would be first on his [Dream's] agenda?" (Yeah, wonder who. I forget sometimes that the only people who are aware of Dream's obsession are Tommy himself, Quackity, Sam, and Jack. And now maybe Phil if he connects the dots)
They split up once again at Punz's insistence, and I'm guessing here is maybe where he meets up with Dream? Someone who watched his pov can tell me.
"We need to tell- Eryn doesn't know. Eryn, Dream is gonna be the worst person you ever fucking meet. He used to be great! He used to be my best friend, but he's changed. He's not the same. Just be careful, if you see him don't fight him. You won't stand a chance"
Honestly, I really appreciate the fact that Sapnap is one of the few characters that keep trying to solve the misunderstandings in the server instead of just not communicating. And, since he's not sure if he got through Eryn, he simply wants him to stay safe. He's not mad about it, just concerned. It's refreshing.
"Do I really have to kill my own best friend?" (Sapnap trying to come to terms with his own promise)
Also, Sapnap is convinced that Ranboo is one of the people who helped Dream escape. And he was the one to tell Tubbo that Dream escaped apparently.
"Are you a Dream apologist Sam?" "I'll kill you" (Welp, that answered that question)
After Sam arrived the group (made of Hannah, Boomer, Eryn, and Sapnap) started questioning him on how he could let this happen, with Hannah also bringing up that she's disappointed in him for that.
"I don't know anyone might wanna get him [Dream] out because he manipulates people, that's what he does! That's what he's good at!" (Sapnap proving once more that he knows why Dream is so dangerous)
"Where did Tommy go? I hope he's okay..." (There are 2 things Eryn cares about, I'm telling you)
Sam confesses to Sapnap that he thinks there is a mole amongst the guard because Techno couldn't have known how to break into the prison like that. So Dream has managed to create mistrust among them even without realizing so by giving Techno the blueprints. Apparently, even Sam doesn't suspect that Dream would go after Tommy immediately, huh.
"I know where he's gonna go" "Where?" "Sapnap I know where he's gonna go. Where is- who has his stuff? His armor?" "What armor?" "Oh no. I'm gonna go where- where the bunker was, where we arrested him. You try and go find somewhere else" *Sam leaves* "His armor. His armor. His armor? I know where he's going- I know where he's going next! He needs his shit!"
They figured this one out about 20 minutes too late. Still, though, they both managed to put their emotions aside long enough to think logically. It's more or less expected from Sam by this point, but it's impressive from Sapnap considering that he's usually a lot more on the impulsive side. Meanwhile this whole stream he's been a constant voice of reason.
Sapnap remembers that Tubbo was the one to take Dream's armor and heads to Tubbo's secret vault. Of course, he gets there in time because Dream was way too busy tormenting Tommy at this time, and manages to get everything from there, even wearing Dream's own armor.
Dream does in fact go to the vault as Sapnap suspected, even if he's already armored.
"Sapnap! Sapnap it's great to see you! Do you have my armor?" "Yeah, I do. I've everything" "Give me it. Come on" "Don't think I can do that pal" "What do you mean?" "I don't think I can just hand you over your armor. Why did you guys- why did you get out?" "Eh. It's my armor, I'd like it back"
Dream's tone just shifts drastically as soon as Sapnap refuses to comply with his demands. It's the closest we've seen Dream act like he does with Tommy with anyone else.
"I don't know Dream, I'm not gonna lie it kinda- it kinda feels good on me. Dream, I told you to stay in there [the prison], didn't I?" "What are you saying?" "I told you to stay in there, why did you get out?" "What do you mean why'd I get out?" "Why did you get out?" "What did you want me to rot in- I was getting tortured! Did you want me to rot in prison forever?" "You were getting tortured? Who was torturing you?" "Yeah Quackity was torturing me" "Quackity was torturing you? What do you mean he was torturing you? Like literally torturing you?" "He was trying to get the revival book and so he was torturing me" "The revival book? What revival book?" "It's a long story" "Do you have it on you now?" "No, I don't. Just give me my stuff. Give my stuff and I'll leave, I'll be out of here"
Taking another break from transcribing this long-ass dialogue to point out a couple of things here:
1) Sapnap, much like Tommy, is immediately sympathetic to Dream for what he went through, showing once again that the torture was not something anyone on the server approved off, no matter how much they dislike Dream, or, in Sapnap's case, how much he thinks that Dream deserves to be locked up in prison
2) This is not the first time that someone who was at the Disc War Finale seems not to know about the book, despite the fact that Dream having that was the literal reason why they locked him up instead of killing him, which makes me wonder if people thought that Dream's revival powers were something he simply had instead of having been acquired from somewhere else
"What are you planning to do? I think I deserve to know" "I was planning to leave and get away and just be away from everybody" "You're just gonna leave and get away and live on your own? Away from everyone? That's your plan?" "Yes, if you give me my armor I'll do that. I'll go away" (...) "Dream I can't do that"
So, of course, we don't know what Dream's actual plan is. We don't know the details of it, nor his end goal. But, considering the fact that, at this point in the stream, he already spent quite a bit of time psychologically torturing Tommy and telling him that he would make him immortal it does seem extremely likely that he's lying to Sapnap.
And, since I know some people are wondering if that was just Tommy's hallucination, right after this conversation Dream gives Techno the Axe of Peace that was previously buried in Logstedshire. He had to have been there and we as the audience have no reason to believe otherwise as of now.
Either way, Dream gives Techno his ax back in exchange for him and Tubbo leaving and blocks himself and Sapnap in the vault with some obsidian he had.
"Dream! You're not the person- you're not just gonna live off in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere, are you?" "Okay, you're right! Look, I won't, I'll live here but I'll be peaceful everyone- everyone will see that" "Dream, I would love that, I really would. That's all I want. But that's not you. And the fact that you broke out of that prison is just a testament to that"
There are a couple of things to note here. For one thing: Sapnap saw right through all of Dream's deception. He's aware that his old friend is a liar and he doesn't let his promises deter him. But also one thing that's very clear all throughout this interaction is how much he still cares about Dream. So much so that Dream being out and being peaceful is all he wants. And he has to go again his own affection for his best friend to stand his ground because that's the right thing to do.
"Dream, you left me behind once before, I'm not giving you the opportunity to do that again" (The difference in perspective. Dream and Sapnap both claim to be the ones who've been abandoned. I'm inclined to agree with Sapnap here though, Dream abandoned him when he gave a speech about how he only cared about controlling Tommy)
"What have you been up to the last couple of months Sapnap? How about the last year? What have you been up to?" "Working on a kingdom. With Karl. And George. You remember George, don't you?" "Ah, kingdom, where is that located at?"
If anyone remembers this is the way Dream fishes for information about people's attachments. He did the same with Techno when they were talking in prison, only this time it's made a lot more obvious with the intention of being intimidating. After all, what Dream is after right now is his armor, not Sapnap's attachments, and he's more likely to falter if he's nervous.
"I bet George misses you a whole lot" "I bet he does" "He definitely never talks about you, I'll tell you that much" (Sapnap is trying to use a similar tactic to Dream's here, trying to hit him where it hurts. Sadly for him, he gets no reaction since Dream hasn't really cared about him or George for a long time now)
"Dream, if you want it [the armor], take it off my dead body, I'm not handing it to you. You can say you're trying to negotiate with me all you want, I'm not budging" (This was just cool)
"If I give this to you I don't even wanna know what you're gonna do"
Deciding that that's probably a fight he can't win since Dream doesn't have that many resources at the moment, and even less after he used some to torment Tommy, he decides to change tactics, get out of the room and threaten Kinoko instead.
"If you really wanna live that way in a house, in a cottage then you don't need this armor, just go and do it. But I'm not giving you stuff that's gonna enable you to hurt other people, not again Dream"
Once again, Sapnap is being extremely rational in this stream. He realized that Dream really wouldn't need weapons and armor if he was telling the truth. But he isn't. And Sapnap can see right through him.
Dream still manages to evade Sapnap's chase and leaves him telling him they'd see each other again.
Sapnap heads back to Kinoko and meets up with Karl to try and explain everything. Karl disagrees with Sapnap actions saying that he believes that Sapnap has made Kinoko a target.
They end their conversation agreeing that they'll have to prepare. Make a watchtower, get more people, and so on.
Sapnap throughout this stream truly impressed me. He managed to keep his cool for the most part and think before he acts, which brought him to both be able to predict Dream's next move as well as to be able to see through the bs. It's also interesting that, while Dream most likely doesn't see Sapnap as an equal, he still sees him as a definite threat, at least pvp-wise.
It makes me really curious to see what kind of role Sapnap will cover moving forward.

C!disc duo anon here :D
c!tommy is obsessed but not to the degree c!dream is. Before exile, c!tommy was willing to destroy friendships. And also c!dream is probably still obsessed with c!tommy but I wouldn't jump to conclusions that he actively wants to go after him since he only went to go see punz then went to go return the axe to techno. He bumped into c!tommy by coincidence. I would like to expand on this if you'd let me and my last ask wasn't meant to be rude :D
(Also btw I'm a c!discduo enjoyer + I don't like cc!dream if that eases your worries :D)
i am a c!prime enjoyer myself anon not just a c!inniter. your opinions of the cc don't really make me worried or not worried! my tone for this is /nm (neutral tone)
Again I'll say that describing c!tommy's response as "obsession" is missing the mark of the c!Prime dynamic. The dynamic at current is c!tommy wanting to be safe, that is his only goal (+ to stick by the side of those he loves like c!wilbur and c!tubbo). And he wants absolutely nothing to do with c!Dream. He is not obsessed with him, he's quite frankly concerned about being trapped/dying again/being killed repeatedly/etc because c!Dream is actively after him. It's a perfectly valid and understandable response for someone who is danger from the person that abused him to be hyperventilant at the mention of c!Dream and the reminder of the fact he "doesnt know where he's at". To say that c!Tommy even seeks him out is false, he more so is trying to stay safe, which is why he had the bunker house comissioned.
And you say "don't assume", but he most definitely is after him. Watch the Green Smile that Haunts me stream. Watch the prison streams in which he told c!Tommy exactly what he'd do when he got out. Watch c!George's lore stream in which his dream suggested c!Dream may be going after Kinoko (which matches his thoughts to c!Sam and others in the prison). Watch specifically the parts of prison break in which c!Dream tries to trap c!Tommy within logsted until he luckily makes it to c!Phil in time with the promise of torturing him forever. He did not bump into c!Tommy by coincidence his first goal upon leaving the prison was to reinstate his power over c!Tommy and hurt him (even c!phil says something along the lines of "i cant believe the first thing he does is come after you" (paraphrased))
If you're going to enjoy the writing of the c!prime dynamic you have to understand their dynamic is one of power imbalance, that c!Dream is obsessed and is actively trying to control and hurt c!Tommy as a part of his many plans for the server, just like he did in exile. It's well written, i love watching it, but it's so fucking horrifying. Minimizing what c!Dream's done not only is incorrect about their dynamic, but it's disrespectful to the writing that the cc's have done

dsmp unsolved: the mystery of george's shield
as we all know on karl's last stream george showed up with this shield
Tumblr media
for those of you who don't keep up with the lore, this shield has the same design that dream used to use during george's reign as the king of the smp
Tumblr media
so i thought, well, sapnap might have gotten it from dream when he died after tommy killed him and stole his armor, so i decided to look for a recent video of his enderchest.
Tumblr media
no shield.
maybe it was inside george's enderchest?
Tumblr media
also not there.
during karl's stream i really thought sapnap had been the one the give him the shield, but apparently he never had that shield, also it was so strange how fast george showed up with a lead (which are not that easy to find) and this specific design on this shield.
i'm not saying anything, but we know very well who's the person who tends to give george all that he wants on the server and has access to creative and is known for associating that design to george.

MCYT Demographic Survey Part 2 RESULTS
IT’S TIME!!!
Once again, thank you so much to everyone who participated! 1,654 people total responded to this - about four and a half times as many respondents as the first survey. It’s honestly incredible. I’m so happy the rest of you are as interested as I am in this stuff :D
The increased turnout is also why these results are being posted two days later than I’d intended. I want to give a HUGE thank you to my friend @quincepastey and my sibling @orestes-swimming for helping me out, and by helping I do mean they did basically all of the technical stuff for me, because my knowledge of spreadsheets was not up to the task. So thank you to Cupid for organizing all the data from questions 3 and 4 into something comprehensible for me, and thank you to Kal for making the charts! They are absolutely the MVPs and everyone reading this should go check them out. Thank you guys so much <3
Reblogs of this post are very appreciated. It would be awesome if the info about the results could reach everyone who submitted a response, so if you reblogged my first post about this survey, please consider reblogging this one as well!
For your convenience, here’s a link to the results of the first survey I did six months ago. Now - on to the results!
Question 1: What is your age range?
Tumblr media
Compared to the results of the first survey, we can see that things have changed a bit! Specifically, the fandom has shifted just a little bit older. The solid majority of the fandom is still in the 15-17 year old range, but it’s gone down from almost half to closer to 40%. Almost a third of the fandom are ages 18-20, up from close to a fifth six months ago. 21-25 year olds have increased from about 10% to about 14%. And the youngest segment, 13-14 year olds, have gone from almost 20% of the fandom down to 12% - the sharpest change of all.
Finally, nearest and dearest to my own heart, there are now 26 whole people in the fandom aged 26-30 and 9 people aged 30+. Old Squad is growing, folks. We are... the 2% 😎 Special shoutout to the person who said their 15 year old kid got them into the fandom. I hope you know just how cool you are.
These results are interesting, but it’s also impossible to say how accurate the data is. This survey and the previous one were only posted on my blog, and they only reached a wider audience through the reblogs of my followers. So do these changes reflect actual changes in the demographics of the fandom as a whole, or is it just that my followers (and the people who follow them) have shifted older? To try to avoid this bias in the future, I may reach out to some well-known younger bloggers and ask them to reblog the next survey I do so that I can reach a more even audience.
Question 2: What is your gender?
Tumblr media
Apologies for the small text, but there were so many unique write-in answers that I wanted to include them all. You may want to open the image in a separate tab for better quality.
In contrast to the age question, the gender spread of the fandom has remained pretty much the same. About half the fandom is still female, the nonbinary crowd has increased from 20% to 25%, 7% of us are male, almost 7% are genderfluid, and about 5% are agender. Just like last time, most of the write-in responses fell into the vague categories of either genderqueer or questioning.
No surprises on this one! The fandom continues to be overwhelmingly female and queer. Next time I think I’ll include genderqueer and questioning as options to try to catch some of those people into a formal category. All y’all are so valid, especially the person who wrote in their gender as “soup” <3
The results for questions 3 and 4 will be under a cut, because I don’t want to completely destroy people’s dashes.
Before I get into the last two questions, a couple notes. First, I want to explain how I came up with the list of creators, since a lot of people were either excited or disappointed by the fact that a few different people were on there.
On the last survey, this question was a write-in, and I had to transcribe and collate all the answers by hand to come up with the actual number of people who followed each creator. For this survey, I simply took the list that came out of the previous one and pasted it in! I also added a few people who no one wrote in six months ago but who are much more prominent now (Ranboo being the biggest example). So if you were excited to see your favorite small creator listed as an option, they were there because someone wrote them in last time! And if you wrote in your favorite small creator here, they’ll be an option on the next survey. The list is entirely crowdsourced and it will expand with each survey.
That said, the same also applies for more controversial creators. Specifically, I’m talking about CallMeCarson. Several people questioned my decision to keep him on the list - and to be honest, I considered taking him out. But in the end I decided to leave him in as an option for the sake of completeness and consistency with the previous survey. I want to emphasize that this is not me condoning his actions. But for the sake of the data, I felt that it was best to leave him in.
That said, let’s move on to questions 3 and 4!
Question 3: What creator(s) do you primarily follow?
Tumblr media
So, it’s harder to compare with the previous survey on this one, and that’s purely because on the previous survey I didn’t have the help I did here. The chart I was able to make for the results back in October was frankly trash. Also, the fact that I split “followed creators” into two questions - primarily and casually followed - definitely throws things off. However, we can still do a certain amount of comparison!
The most obvious change is Ranboo. He straight up was not on the previous survey at all - I think he’d been streaming for less than a month at the time. Now, about 55% of respondents listed him as someone they primarily follow. The Dream SMP itself has also jumped dramatically. Previously, about 5% of people wrote in Dream SMP. That has increased to over half. Quackity has gone from less than 2% to about 30%. Karl has gone from 4% to 30%. Phil has gone from about 8% to a little under 50%. The SBI have jumped from 11% to over 40%.
Techno has gone from about 50% to over 60%. Tommy has gone from 45% to over 55%. Wilbur has jumped from 43% to 55%. Tubbo has remained steady at about 38%.
Dream has apparently dropped some of his following percentage-wise, falling from 50% to about 35%. However, George, Sapnap, and the Dream Team itself have all jumped from 10-12% to almost 30%.
I’m not going to go over the rest of the list, because that would just get way too long. However, I will drop a link to the spreadsheets of data for this survey and the previous one, so anyone who wants to can do some comparison of their own!
Question 4: What creators do you casually follow?
Tumblr media
I won’t do as detailed of a comparison on this question, because there’s nothing to compare it to - this question wasn’t on the previous survey. However, it’s interesting to see how many more people follow Fundy, Nihachu, BadBoyHalo, Captain Puffy, Eret, Awesamdude, and Jack Manifold casually rather than as a primary favorite. Out of the top twelve, Karl, Quackity, Phil, and Tubbo are the only ones who don’t have a major discrepancy between the amount of people who follow them casually versus primarily.
I would be curious to hear people’s thoughts on why that’s the case! Personally, I would guess it’s a combination of each of their approaches to lore on the Dream SMP, the frequency and times of day that they stream, and the people they tend to make content with and be associated with by the fandom. I may go into that more later, but this post is already very long, so I’ll hold off for now. Here’s a link to this question’s spreadsheet for anyone who wants to take a closer look!
...And that’s a wrap! Good grief, this got long. Kudos to anyone who actually read the whole thing because I know my attention span would be challenged. I’m already thinking about the next survey - a couple people suggested that I add in questions about orientation and nationality, and while I want to keep the survey pretty tight in its scope, I am considering it. It would be even more data to process but it would be interesting to know!
I would love to hear people’s thoughts on these results! I’m only one person, so I know there’s interesting stuff I must have missed. Please, please feel free to reblog with your thoughts and observations! A lot of work went into this (both from me and from Cupid and Kal! Thank you guys again!), so I’m really hoping to hear what people think about it :D
I plan to reblog this and reply to some of the things people wrote in at the end, so stay tuned for that. And once again: thank you all for your interest in this project of mine <3 See you with another one in six months!

So I’ve been thinking about Kinoko Kingdom and what’s happening there. Karl, the time traveler, said he built Kinoko Kingdom to protect his friends and it’s members are and Karl stresses this, the members are Karl, George, and Sapnap. But why protect George and Sapnap? Surely they aren’t that important to the overall plot of the SMP...unless...
Kinoko Kingdom is literally surrounded in mushrooms. Some of the library walls are made out of mushrooms, the big mushroom tree in the middle of the library was the first mushroom built and famously kept the three citizens warm the first night. This mushroom tree is sacred, it’s not to be taken down. Mushrooms are very important to this place. “Kinoko” translates to “mushroom” so it’s literally a Mushroom Kingdom.
Which brings us to George, the mushroom king. George is known as the mushroom king because he built a house made out of mushrooms during the second L’Manburg war and then was made king during the same day- look it’s some of the only George lore we’ve gotten so we’re holding on to it, okay?
It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that the “Mushroom Kingdom” and one of it’s three citizens is the previous “Mushroom King” and his knight, Sapnap. Who else was a previous knight of the mushroom king? Dream.
This brings us to George’s shield which we saw in Karl’s latest stream:
Tumblr media
For those that might not be aware, George’s shield is an exact replica, maybe even the same shield that Dream used while he was one of George’s knights.
Tumblr media
Now my lovely mutual @gogynist theorizes in this post that maybe someone, who has access to creative mode, gave George the shield with that specific design. So are you thinking what I’m thinking? DreamXD, the protector god of the server that has shown himself in a whole 3 hour long stream that he is the biggest George simp - he is all too ready to help George and kill whomever he wants to make George happy, tells George he’s there for him, and loves to give George whatever he wants from the creative mode inventory.
Now awhile ago, I had this little theory that “The Inbetween” is actually DreamXD’s castle, who’s student, Karl, tries to stop bad things from happening on the server. One of those things DreamXD and Karl could be trying to stop, is Dream turning into a villain. We established that DreamXD is a George simp so he’s going to try to keep George safe and happy, when did George’s fantasy of having a “big happy family” on the SMP end? When did Dream really take a turn for the worse? It was when Dream dethroned George.
We know that the relationship between the Dream Team was forever fractured (on the SMP roleplay) when Dream dethroned George from being the king, and Sapnap chose George’s side and the two of them ran off and away from Dream. That was the last time George has spoken to Dream in canon.
I mentioned earlier this idea of a “big happy family” that George wanted. There’s this theory that I explained here about George wanting the server to be like “one big happy family”. That George is the one who wants to return to the time of happiness and peace on the server and Dream saw that and made it his mission to make the server “one big happy family”, but it was just a domino effect because Dream started spiraling down in an effort to bring his friends back to his side but it never worked.
But what does this have to do with Kinoko Kingdom? Well, I’ll tell you. I don’t know. But what I do know is Karl is a time traveler who is maybe working for DreamXD who is a George simp and Karl built Kinoko Kingdom to protect his friends and one of his friends is the previous mushroom king who has a replica or even Dream’s exact shield from when he was a knight of the mushroom king and also his friends are George and Sapnap who are also best friends with Dream the main villain of the server who’s now in prison for his crimes.
So this is when I go into theory mode, what if, stay with me, Karl’s continues to try and to fail to prevent bad things from happening to the server and in a last ditch effort he goes to the past and tries to warn past George and Sapnap about the upcoming evil turn of Dream? Or what if Karl brings George and Sapnap back to the past to confront past Dream?
Or what if Karl tells past Dream not to dethrone George and Karl gives Dream Kinoko Kingdom George’s shield as proof of the bad things he will do. Karl tells past Dream that he will lose his friends forever if he chooses to dethrone George and he tells past Dream about all the atrocities Dream commits in the future that starts with Dream dethroning George. Then past Dream has to decide if he is going to go through with his plan to try and protect George by dethroning him or change the path and leave George as king with the threat that he would be unsafe.
Or if the “big happy family” theory is true then the last time Dream and George talked was when George was dethroned and Dream takes a turn to the villainous side because he wants to win George back, right? So what if Karl travels back, let’s say, before Techno and Dream blow up L’Manburg and Karl tells Dream that George still cares for him. That he doesn’t have to do it. Karl shows Dream George’s Kinoko Kingdom’s shield, a sign of happy times when George and Dream were a team, and tells Dream that George carries it around everywhere and won’t let it go. Dream realizes George still cares for him and Karl returns back to Kinoko Kingdom, but George and Sapnap are gone because they are running around with Dream and are best friends, a team, again.

I’ve been knee deep in dsmp lore streams and I just want to ramble about it
Dream smp lore is so good, it’s so good!!! Not only is the story itself just fascinating, but how it’s presented so uniquely through the medium of minecraft of all things is just so cool. One of my favorite parts of the lore is seeing how everyone on the smp has their own “style” they present it in, and watching them find the way they find the most enjoyment in is so cool. Literally no two streamer’s lore stream quite like each others and it’s just incredible! It just speaks to the flexibility of roleplay as an artistic medium and really shows everyone’s individual personalities.
Wilbur was dramatic as hell and wrote eloquent speeches. He started a drug operation under the guise as a country, and it lead to a revolution in which he was able to explore the spiral of a man who loses control of everything he had built. And after his arc and he wanted a break from the server? He created ghostbur, an amnesic comic relief with just enough touch of tragedy that he is still able to make heartbreaking monologues when he wants to.
Tommy is able to run around with his friends and cause as much chaos to his heart’s extent, but there is so much more than meets the eye. He is incredibly social and isn’t afraid to start conflict with a lot of people, bringing them into the roleplay. He doesn’t back down from storytelling either. His character goes through terrible situations and he fully explores the trauma that comes from those experiences. His character goes against the “stereotypical” trauma I see alot in media; instead of being shy or scared he’s reactionary, he’s angry, he’s violent, he’s depressed. I’m actually really impressed with the heavy subject matter this 17 year old teen has managed to portray (I’ve connected with it quite personally at certain points), while still being able to keep the light hearted fun that’s so intrinsic to his personality.
Tubbo isn’t really interested in serious lore as much. Even in dire moments he tells jokes and just has fun. So, in his recent lore, he just streams as normal while putting mysterious writing on screen that he doesn’t acknowledge or have to explain, which I think is just a genius work around for him to participate in lore. He still has his dedicated lore streams sometimes, and when he is in the acting zone he has some of the most powerful moments out of everyone on the server.
Ranboo, while having stake in the greater smp lore, is much more character focused. He presents his lore through long monologues and fucking heart-wrenching voice acting. He loves working in themes of horror and causing a specific feeling in the viewer. So he chooses specific music as a themes for events/characters and creates visual queues in his overlays to draw out that desired reaction. He also values improve a LOT, if something unexpected comes up he just runs with it and he has made huge changes to his lore as early as 30 min before a stream.
Technoblade, while arguably one of the most powerful people on the server, prefers a more light-hearted yet dramatic approach to lore. When Dream was at his house looking for Tommy, Techno had no problem joking around and making fun of him for being homeless. He tore down an entire nation on the server and had so much fun doing it! He’s more of an antagonist than a true villain in my opinion. And lets not forget how dedicated he is to the game, he’s cracked at the craft. He spends hours grinding and creating farms on the smp, for amazing pay offs (his several vault reveals, the withers, etc), most of which weren’t even on stream!
Karl Jacobs is extremely social, so he created Tales from the smp as a way to involve TONS of people in lore while exploring the past and future of the server (it was also a way for viewers who weren’t that well versed in dsmp lore to join and not have to worry about it!). And through this premise, he took the opportunity to develop his own character on the smp; making an incredibly tragic story of a time traveler trying to save his home while slowly loosing his memories. Not to mention the beautifully shot cutscenes of the Inbetween and the Other Side. He includes so many people behind the scenes as well, collabing with other members on lore, hiring building teams and people to make intros and credit scenes, and promoting fanart and fansongs from the community!
Quackity explores his lore through heavily scripted events and amazingly shot cut scenes. While the way he expresses his lore comes at the cost of improv, the payoff of the visuals and story is well worth it! The shots he makes of the smp is downright gorgeous, no to mention he’s the first person to include irl footage in his lore (not counting facecams)! He’s not afraid of thoroughly examining his own character, being one of the only people I can think of that shows us “past events” leading up to something that has already happened.
Badboyhalo, Antfrost, Ponk, Skeppy, Captain Puffy, Punz, Awesamdude, Hannahxxrose all work together on shared lore and the payoff is amazing! By introducing the Egg, a constant antagonistic force that constantly pulls on character’s relationships with each other, everyone is able to stream together to battle for or against the egg! There’s also plenty of room for people to do individual lore that's more intimate to their respective character. They spend hours changing vines, putting up posters, slowly shaping the smp in a way that makes it exciting to watch streams to see just what has changed everyday. Because there’s so many people necessary to tell the egg’s story, it does comes at the cost of time (the egg has been around FOREVER). However, they all work together super hard and I just admire their commitment to the story they’re trying to tell!
And Sam! He has several different “Modes” his character is in (and an entirely separate character, Sam Nook) that he gets to explore lore with. He’s a terrifying warden, he’s a money motivated businessman, he’s a conflicted lover, he’s a traumatized victim of the egg, and just so much more. Through having so many different “roles” in the rp he gets to explore relationships and plotlines with a whole array of people. Not to mention he’s absolutely cracked at redstone and has some of the most impressive builds on the server.
And Puffy! So much of her lore is calling into question the morality of the server and really makes you step back and think critically about the characters. Her character also has, in my opinion, one of the most interesting relationships with Dream, the main antagonist of the entire server, which is just fascinating to watch unfold. Not to mention she’s one of the first people to start exploring the backstory of her character!
George doesn’t exactly do lore. In fact he’s slept through so much of it it’s become a meme. And you know what? That mad man took that and ran with it. He explains his absence in the story by having his character literally being asleep through it, creating mystery where there used to just be an absence. He’s able to goof off with his friends and have borderline nonsensical streams, then at the end sucker punch the audience emotionally by “waking up” and have the viewers question just what was real and what wasn’t?
The smp has the freedom for people who want more independent lore to be able to explore their character’s that way as well!
Hbomb, Connereatspants, and Purpled don’t have a lot of lore on the smp, generally only coming on to have fun with everyone, but when they do have their moments it unfolds in very interesting ways!
Sapnap, Eret, and Schlatt maybe aren’t as active as some other people, but when they are on they actively participate in lore and have lasting impacts on the story (Ex: Eret’s betrayal, Sapnap’s visit to dream in the prison, Schlatt becoming president).
Philza mostly does his own thing, improving the server or making some bomb ass builds. He has incredibly devastating roles in lore (killing wilbur, blowing up L’manberg for the final time, starting the syndicate with Techno), but he also has quieter moments that speak to the depth his character has, such as fishing with fundy or reminiscing about his dead son and how it went so wrong. Like Techno, he doesn’t like to take lore completely seriously, often laughing no matter what’s happening or teasing chat after something big goes down, but his character is solid with a lot of potential for future lore.
Foolish has only started on his character and its already super interesting. The hints at his dark past as a “god of death” and his current conflict with the egg are intriguing as fuck. Not to mention the MASSIVE builds he does for everyone, helping to progress their lore as well.
Fundy has a lot of freedom with his character to participate however much he wants in lore. While generally he’s a trickster who loves to prank people he has enough tragedy build into his backstory he’s able to break the viewer’s heart with a flip of a switch. Not to mention his recent, almost surreal, stream that explored his character’s disturbing dreams that may or may not predict the future.
Niki is very character driven, exploring her character's grief of losing her best friend and her anger of being ignored in the very country she helped create. She has incredibly emotional moments, and even though she’s on her own building an underground city she still participates in other lore via teaming with jack manifold or the syndicate.
Jack Manifold’s lore is VERY character focused, and while he’s described his story as a “B plot that occasionally intersects with the main plot”, the story he tells is still fascinating. Being pushed aside not taken seriously his whole life, his character develops into a fun cartoony-esque villain who begs to be taken seriously, that has the depth of a truly conflicted person who is torn between wanting revenge on everyone who’s done him wrong and just wanting a friend.
Last but not least, the man himself, Dream. The most fascinating thing about his lore is that absolutely none of it is from his pov. All we know about his character is only from what we see from everyone else’s povs, and in his case it leads to a very intimidating villain! Not to mention, mans owns the damn server and yet has made himself the main antagonist! He is the only character I consider a “true villain” on the smp. His voice acting and writing is downright sinister. I could write a fucking essay on how his character’s obsession with power has led him to the point he thinks himself an unstoppable god
Everyone on this server is stunning and I love all of them!!!!!

Dream SMP Recap (December 5/2020)
It’s the aftermath of yesterday’s exile, and everyone is still reeling. Though a calmer day, it’s going to take some time to get used to the new status quo.
(Disclaimer: As always, I may be missing or messing up information)
---
- Ranboo grinds for resources
- (Youtube Stream) Badboyhalo finds Logsted during his stream to prank the SMP. He leaves them a present.
- Tommy logs on and sees Bad. Also, Logsted has gained a lovely campsite cabin built by Ghostbur off-stream.
- Sam has been paid 64 diamond blocks by Dream to build a maximum-security prison that no one would be able to escape from...it’s unknown who Dream is planning on imprisoning.
- Bad and Tommy listen to the music disc Bad gave him - Chirp. Tommy says it reminds him of death. They spark a new friendship. Could this be a continuation of Bad’s potential alliance with Mexican L’manburg against Dream? As Sam is working for Dream on the prison, and the Badlands still have plans to get the contract signed with Eret, it seems the Badlands are still having conflicts of interest.
- Dream shows up, explodes the present. Tommy tosses Bad the Chirp disc back and tells him to take it and run. Dream threatens Tommy again and robs him. Sapnap joins the call as well. Tommy asks Dream why he’s being tortured. Dream says that Tommy is the only person who refuses to listen to him, a little bug that he has to get rid of, but also says that just because he exiled Tommy doesn’t mean that they aren’t friends.
- Sapnap comes over and Dream and Sapnap bully Tommy together. Meanwhile, Wilbur logs on. Dream gives him a book as a gift, and Wilbur gives it to Tommy (who immediately starts writing How to Sex 3)
- Tommy builds a tent outside the campsite so that he can look over the sunset.
- Ghostbur, who isn’t fully banished, goes back to L’manburg to take some pictures of the city to show Tommy
- Tommy goes to the ruined portal and asks Dream if he’s allowed in the Nether. Dream says yes, but he can’t go through the portal back home or else Dream will have to kill him. Tommy gets some diamonds, mines obsidian, repairs the portal and steps inside.
- Since he’s only a couple thousand blocks away, the Nether Hub is very close by. Tommy builds a bridge and pathway to it as he’s followed by Dream and Sapnap. He makes it to the Nether Hub as they tell him about Puffy’s Christmas decorations. Ghostbur takes a picture of the tree with Sapnap. Tommy can hear them laughing joyfully and having fun, but he can’t join them. Tommy stares longingly at the portal but doesn’t go in.
- Dream enters the portal to join Ghostbur and Sap. While they laugh, Tommy steps just out of the hub onto the bridge and stares down at the lava, silent.
- Dream comes back through and pushes Tommy back, building a dirt platform at the edge. He tells Tommy it’s not his time to die yet.
- Tommy returns back to Logsted, asking the others, “Guys, how do you know when it’s too much?”
- Everyone almost forgets, but they have to leave to attend Fundy’s wedding, which Wilbur is officiating --
-- I’ve seen some people confused about this but the wedding isn’t in the Dream SMP which is why Tommy is there. Dream and Fundy have made the wedding canon within the SMP but it isn’t an SMP-specific event.
- A Mooshroom named “Mushroom Henry” is dropped off by Ant at Logsted
- Technoblade streams!! He meets with Vikk and Lazar to tell them his side of the story, as they are building their retirement home as well. Technoblade shows them his house in the Arctic.
- Technoblade and the Boomervillians then head to Logstedshire.
- So it turns out Technoblade sometimes dies...of fall damage...
- Vikk and Lazar talk about the retirement home with Hbomb94 and offer him a property in Boomerville.
- Sam shows the Boomervillians his base and Ponk’s Thiccatron.
- Punz, Eret and Ponk all work on their various building projects.
- Karl’s brother logs into the server on Karl’s account and messes around Sapnap, Quackity, George and Dream. They build a monstrosity of a house above George’s house.
- Dream spawn kills Sapnap a crap ton of times, George’s house gets griefed again
- They check their death counts. Dream has 118 deaths, Karl has 353 deaths, Quackity has 592 (at the middle of the stream at least) Poor Quackity
- He repeatedly asks George if George truly cared about being king. George is hesitant to answer and mostly just says “king is pretty cool” and that’s it.
- 593
- George makes Sapnap apologize. He does so, emphasizing the fact that George is an “ex-king” and claims he only did it because he had some “Dreamon blood” in him and was possessed (this was a joke lmao don’t worry) and says that they should put their differences aside for the good of M.L.
- Karl fishes for people and catches a Sapnap. 594. Quackity sacrifices his life for George via fishing pole execution. 595.
- They all argue over George having to die in return for Sapnap dying as well. George says he doesn’t want to die but Dream says he’ll die either way, now or later.
- George misses the countdown. Dream says he made up his mind. George will die later and Sapnap will get all his things. He says he’ll tell Punz and Awesamdude to hunt for George whenever he logs back in as well and they’ll be coming for George too.
- George finally gives in. He logs in while The Last Post plays in the background and is slaughtered by Dream as o7′s spam the chat. (o7)
- Dream says he wants to kill whoever destroyed George’s house and take all their loot.
- The George dethronement wasn’t part of the script, George just didn’t want to be involved in the lore so Dream was confused at why George was pretending to be sad.
- Sapnap: “Friends don’t lie.” (still too soon...)
- Karl’s brother gets officially exiled from the SMP
---
Tumblr media
---
Upcoming Events:
- HBomb will be hosting Niki and Wilbur’s L’Cast tomorrow at 4pm EST
- Karl will be touring around Pokimane next week
- The results of Fundy and Dream’s marriage (monkaS)
Potentially Scrapped:
- Elytra Challenge
- Badboyhalo and Skeppy’s plan to burn Tommy’s disc

i remain consistent with the opinion that the masquerade was the best tftsmp episode, mainly because i think that one actually has the most connection to current lore with it's inclusion of the egg and what avenues it opened up regarding the nature and the history of it.
i just don't think we found out much about the world of the dream smp from this other than more connor and schlatt lore. which is fine - they're really fun inclusions and i know connor has the whole hating minecraft streamers bit, but his little inclusions in the lore are really fun and refreshing to see. the problem is that connor and schlatt don't really have any connections to mainstream lore outside of tftsmp.
in the village that went mad, we got hints that dream might be older than he lets on through the inclusion of cornelius. in mizu we got a heap of potential ranboo lore. in the masquerade we learnt more about the history of the egg. in the wild west we learnt about some history of church prime, and we get some tiny teasers about egg lore with billiam's poster and the bird's nest.
but in the haunted mansion we got what glatt does in his free time.
it was fine, it was just lackluster. there was simultaneously too much and nothing at all going on. you could have easily cut characters from the episode. this isn't to rag on these cc's or characters specifically, but you could have probably omitted sapnap, george's and techno's characters and you would have had the same outcome.
and another point that i wanted to mention is that, while the builds for tftsmp are fine - probably the best aspects of the episodes - a lot of it feels overproduced at times. i think karl might be under the assumption that every episode must be bigger and better than the last, which is fine for motivation, but it can lead to a kind of blown out fuse of an episode. the inbetween sections feel a lot more overproduced now with the third person perspective and the books to the side.
i think production value is fine, but i think in some cases less can be more.
keep the credits sequences, keep the build team - just don't go overboard with details we'll never even see. keep the inbetween segments in first person and cut the book graphics, and limit the cast to around 5/6 crucial characters per episode, only exceeding that if absolutely necessary (such as with the larger cast of the wild west and the more restricted cast of mizu).
i think this episode was a victim of being overhyped. i myself was hyped for some ghost lore from the smp, and especially with tommy's plotline it could have delved more into how the afterlife works and how ghosts work in the world of the smp. the entire episode was just glatt doing a landlord bit. it would be funny for a regular stream, but i don't think it's good for tftsmp. hyping it up as being lore-filled when it had a very similar jokey semi-lore tone to the beach episode made it fall a bit flat.
there could have been very interesting discoveries about glatt's relationship with the afterlife or whether or not glatt and the schlatt that tommy talked about in the afterlife are the same entity, similar to the disctintion between wilbur and ghostbur.
the episode feels like a lot of wasted potential.

I ANALYZED ALL OF THE NEW SONGS ON RANBOO'S LORE PLAYLIST - HERE'S WHAT I FOUND
Back in March, I listened to every single song on Ranboo's DMCA Lore Playlist. I came up with a solid theory, published my evidence and that was that. My work was done.
But nope! Ranboo's back and he's deleted a ton of songs and added more. And so I listened. Again. And I'm back with a theory, and it does not look good.
This new batch of songs shows us that this is a new era of c!Ranboo. Redesign Your Logo is meant to tell us that things are changing, and so is c!Ranboo. This could be do to the fact that something bad is most likely going to happen to c!Ranboo in the near future, probably the taking of his first canon life. Songs like Eyewishes and Goodbye heavily point to the ending of a chapter (or life) of c!Ranboo. The song Blue Monday isn’t anything revolutionary, as we were already well aware of the toxic relationship between c!Ranboo and c!Dream. Another thing to point out is that Everybody Wants To Rule The World sets up an interesting take on nuclear weapons, a thing that c!Tubbo has and c!Ranboo doesn’t know exists. If c!Ranboo were to find out about the nukes, it could lead to the two fighting over whether or not they were a good thing. Going into Time Moves Slow, the narrator there discusses a relationship that just ended between them and their lover, meaning there could be a c!Beeduo divorce arc in the near future.
Below are the analyses on each individual song and the added and deleted songs
Deleted: Prologue (StarKid), Introduction to the Snow (Miracle Musical), Dream Sweet in Sea Major (Miracle Musical), Turn the Lights Off (Tally Hall), The Mind Electric (Miracle Musical), The Ruler of Everything (Tally Hall), Ain't No Rest for The Wicked (Cage the Elephant), The Bidding (Tally Hall), Stranded Lullaby (Miracle Musical), Hidden in the San (Tally Hall), & (Tally Hall), I'm Gonna Win (Rob Cantor).
Added: Redesign Your Logo (Lemon Demon), Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears), Blue Monday (New Order), Eyewishes (Lemon Demon), Bystanding (Lemon Demon), Goodbye (Bo Burnham), Time Moves Slow (BADBADNOTGOOD and Samuel T. Herring).
Redesign Your Logo (Lemon Demon) - This song is about a pdf that went around during 2009 about the Pepsi company logo. In it, the Arnell group is trying to sell Pepsi a new logo, so that they can make tons of money. I feel that this song symbolizes evolution and growth, we’re entering a new era of c!Ranboo. He’s redesigned and rebranded. This song could also be on this playlist because of a fan animation on youtube set to the same song by Shyshui.
Everybody Wants To Rule The World (Tears for Fears) - This song was written about the Cold War between The Soviet Union and The United States that happened during the 20th Century. The main line of the song ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ is about how everyone wants power, and the misery that it brings with it. This is a theme we can see clearly on the DreamSMP, with many leaders such as c!Eret, c!George, c!Bad, c!Wilbur, and c!Dream all leading lives of misery in one way or another. This is also important for c!Ranboo, as he is the most powerful man on the server. It tells us that his power will soon be his misery. Also a small little thing I’d like to point out is the line ‘Say that you’ll never, never, never, never need it’ which is meant to be about the use of nuclear devices during that time period. Many governments had them but claimed they would only use them if another country was launching a nuclear attack. This could translate to c!Tubbo owning nukes and c!Ranboo possibly finding out, which could cause discourse between the two.
Blue Monday (New Order) - Blue Monday is about the singer pondering the mistreatment of their person by someone they trusted. The person seems to be manipulative and toxic for the singer but the singer is too far under their control to leave them. Immediately we can tell that this song is most likely about the relationship between c!Ranboo and c!Dream. c!Dream uses c!Ranboo as his errand boy, making him do all sorts of tasks, although this hasn’t really happened since the Disc War Confrontation. However, we know the c!Dream still has some sort of hold over c!Ranboo because we saw c!Sapnap trigger an Enderwalk episode by giving c!Ranboo a message from c!Dream.
Eyewishes (Lemon Demon) - Eyewishes is a song about a distraught man who has no eyelashes, as he used them all on wishes, and now he can make no more wishes. The man pours out his frustrations and then resolves to committing suicide. While I don’t believe c!Ranboo would take his own life, I believe that he soon will die. The last line of this song is ‘So take care of my plants and pets and now I’ll say good-’. c!Ranboo has many pets in his care and he would want them taken care of after he dies. I could see him saying this line to a character like c!Tubbo. However, c!Ranboo is still on three canon lives and would not perma died if killed.
Bystanding (Lemon Demon) - Bystanding is the direct sequel to Eyewishes, starting off with bi, completing the phrase ‘goodbye’ started at the end of Eyewishes. Other than this, the song has no real points of interest as it’s just the singer repeating different words, working his way up from 2 to 5.
Goodbye (Bo Burnham) - I’m going to split this song up into two sections, just because I think there’s a lot to cover here. Let’s start pre-bridge. For context, Goodbye is the final track from the comedy-musical special Inside, done by Bo Burnham. Bo says the special was a long project for him as he filmed the entire thing in his house during COVID-19 Quarantine. The beginning part of this song talks a lot about how Bo doesn’t want the special to be over because now he has nothing else to do, and he’ll just have to live his life. This could translate into c!Ranboo losing a lot of things that he worked for, such as his valuables (totems and riches) and just being a normal person again. It could also signify an ending of a chapter for him, maybe his marriage ending, his partnership with the Syndicate ending. However, I believe that its most likely to be c!Ranboo’s neutrality ending. During the recent lore stream he did with c!Wilbur, we finally saw c!Ranboo pick a side. He chose Wilburger over Las Nevadas, losing his trademark neutral stance. c!Ranboo thought his neutrality made him more than others, that he was the one able to see over the conflict, but now he’s just like everyone else. He has a side and an enemy. Let’s move into the bridge and ending of the song now. The first line I’d like to call specifically is ‘Wanna guess the ending, if it ever does.’ This line could maybe signify the fact that throughout the history of the SMP there have been many times that the conflict and story feel like they’ve finally come to a close, only for everything to start up once again. The next lyric is ‘If I wake up in a house that’s full of smoke, I’ll panic, so call me up and tell me a joke.’ This is a callback to another song on Inside, Comedy, in which Bo talks about using his comedy as a way to help people, but really it was he who needed help. c!Ranboo acts as a protector for a lot of characters, most notable c!Tubbo and tried hard to please most people and aid as many as he can, but most of the time he’s the one needed the most help. Similar to Bo, c!Ranboo doesn’t realize he needs help until it’s too late.
Time Moves Slow (BADBADNOTGOOD and Samuel T. Herring) - This song is about a person who’s lover has left them, and although it’s painful they know its for the better. This could, unfortunately, suggest a c!beeduo split but there is another part of this song that I’d like to touch on. ‘Running away is easy, its the living that’s hard.’ This is the chorus for the song and it talks about how running from your problems is easier than facing them but having to live without them is hard. Throughout the story, we often see c!Ranboo ignore his problems, most recently with the vandalism of c!Tubbo’s cookie shop. c!Ranboo found it and decided to fix it and tell no one it happened, which lead to a hostile confrontation between c!Quackity and c!Tubbo.

Vicea...I don't mean to bother you, sorry if you don't tend to get asks like this!! I've been really boggled down by a lot of the Dream discourse both here on twitter and tumblr because I accidentally went DEEP into the criticisms and controversies. I was wondering if you had any particular best comfort videos, streams, moments, etc. with Dream and/or with the Dream Team? I'm trying to distract myself from all the toxicity online but I feel like I keep going back to the same videos.
Thank you for all you do for dreamblr. Your positivity and bright posts from the last few days have certainly helped ease some my worries 🌟🙌
<333 *virtual hugs anon* (or *high fives*) don’t forget that you can always block and mute terms if it gets too much! but yes, I have some very nice clips, videos and streams to ease the stressed mind:
this stream isn’t quite as known but always a pleasant treat to watch because dream and george are so feral here and bbh is just barely “tolerating” them as they play hypixel games.
here is one of my favorite dream smp streams (no lore! there are even time stamps too) because it has the brotherly dynamic of tommy and dream :( and wilbur and george joins with their iconic impersonations of each other.
this stream, such an iconic stream. it’s when dream exposed george of wearing his dream hoodie and there is so much of dream’s comforting laughter and- they just go so feral. not to mention dream’s and quackity’s dumb made-up albeit super funny story after the superbowl.
my absolute favorite dream team videos are probably, Minecraft, But Three People Control One Player, Speedrunning WR 1.15, and X-Ray is Always On
here is a really sweet twitter thread for those who find dream as their comfort streamer. it made me tear up but very /pos ! :]
and i don’t know if you went through it yet but i do have a tag specifically made for these poopy moments (i go through it a lot myself lmao) that consists of (mainly endearing) dream clips that should make you smile, laugh, help with the distraction of the negative feelings...
beloved @gibbyslounge made a quick list of dream comfort clips/compilations here too :D
take your time, go at your own pace, drink water, don’t worry and breathe! everything will be okay :] just take care of yourself above all <3

Haven’t watched Sapnap’s lore yesterday, so here’s a few thoughts from watching it today:
“Where is Quackity?” it took a few months to ask, but at least they he got there in the end
“Do you know that gods of death like apples?” Is- is that a Death Note reference?
George: “I did some cleaning up the other day”, no he didn’t. That was Tommy and his entourage of babysitters
They fixed the El Rapids poster
MEXICAN DREAM!!!!
Ghost MD???
Sapnap and George not figuring out that MD is a ghost until he tells them is just further proof that they are a couple of himbos...
“George, why id Dream always hurting our friends?” 🥺. Because he’s an asshole and Sapnap and George both deserve better
Well... Sapnap is not wrong. Dream, Eret and co ARE the ones who destroyed Mexican L’Manburg. Quackity destroyed El Rapids, not Mexican L’Manburg. It’s also interesting that this implies that MD only lived with them towards the very beginning of their country
“George has a sleeping issue” it’s finally acknowledged in canon, so now I can be happy!
Okay, MD canonically opened a store in the afterlife. Also he definitely interacted with Wilbur, Tommy and Schlatt. Which generally makes me think that it’s not as lonely over there as we thought?
Why is attraction to animals so normal in this universe...?
MD misses Mamacita... 🥺
“You’re telling me the guy who can fucking kill people, fucking exile little kids, fucking put him in- he can just stay in jail man? I’m gonna go in there an fucking kill him man! That’s what he fucking deserves!” MD is a Tommy apologist and that’s really all I need in life
Oh Sapnap knows someone tried to kill Dream but doesn’t know who? That’s interesting...
“Last time I saw him he wasn’t even talking” oh Sapnap... god I feel sorry for him. Because, like, Dream had no problems talking to Tommy when he went. Or Techno now. But he didn’t bother with Sapnap...
Sapnap just wanting to check on Quackity because he misses him is actually kinda sweet
“It’s okay to cry, you don’t have to hold in your feelings” Sapnap being the most well adapted person on the smp once again!
Hmm, more Limbo lore, this time from MD’s Limbo: he still got tired in the afterlife and needed to sleep. Ooooh, and he dreamed about that one George’s lore stream I guess? The one where George saw him again?
So killing a ghost while they’re holding the totem doesn’t work to bring the person back to life. Pretty sure the revive book is the only way at this point...
New Drem to add to the collection! This time it’s American Dream, not to be confused with Dreamwastaken, who is also american
They gave me a heart attack 2 times already making me think they’d kill Shroud. I swear if they do I’m becoming a Sapnap anti
Is Mexican Dream just a very high American Dream?
“Quackity, money, Las Vegas” that should be enough to figure out where Quackity is for them
They got to Las Nevadas!
Awww, and now MD has been invited to Kinoko Kingdom. Sort found family once more?
MD does have favourites among his friends, and he’s definitely another one of George’s simps
Welp. MD did say he would have to go back at some point...
And that was it. I’ll give a couple of my thought on it under the cut.
This was fun honestly! Not too intense, but it was a good way to reintroduce Sapnap (and George surprisingly enough) back to the lore. It also gave us some more info on George’s weird Dreams, specifically how some of them seem to be connected to souls in the afterlife.
Also, MD keeps being the most based character in the smp. Just saying, c!Dream would have been killed off in season 2 finale if he didn’t have the resurrection book and he would have fully deserved it. Also love how the 2 things that where enough for MD to decide Dream deserved death was being killed and Dream exiling Tommy. It’s a nice reminder of the fact that he did, in fact, see a bit of exile. And an acknowledgement of the fact that the exile was unjust regardless.
Also, it was a nice setup to remind us of Sapnap’s protectiveness over Kinoko Kingdom and to show how much he wants to see Quackity again. It was pretty simple in the execution but it worked well I’d say.

analyzing george's may 18th, 2021 stream
Okay. Time to analyze that stream's lore (with and without the fourth wall break) because it contains a lot of important information. And though it was what, 25 minutes or so, it had a lot packed in.
THE LORE
Tommy was writing in chat in full sentences with almost completely perfect punctuation, capitalization, and grammar, which is an immediate flag because he never does that. This led a lot of people to think this was a dream, because the way he was typing in chat is very unusual for his character (and the content creator).
Tommy's words were contradictory; as they approached the Prime Path, he told George to farm his last primes only to later say it's not the time for primes.
Another example is when Tommy wrote "YOU HAVE TO DO THIS." and also something alone the lines of, "do we have to do this right now?" and "Are you sure you want to do this?"
Tommy's hesitation and uncertainty may come from the fact that his last attempt to kill Dream ended in Ghostbur's death.
Tubbo is preparing the nuke to be used. Most likely, it will be used to nuke the prison, as we now know of George's intent to kill Dream.
The way this event was phrased in the in-game chat was misleading-- the actual event was never stated until George said it aloud. It was possible that George was going to break Dream out of prison, which would have even been more of a dream because c!Tommy and c!Tubbo wouldn't want to do that.
George took Dream's set of armor, Nightmare, from Tubbo, and puts it on, most likely to protect himself from if he has to face Dream or if he ends up in the blast area of the nuke.
In Quackity's stream in April, we saw George standing at the entrance to the prison. Several people thought that George was wistfully thinking of breaking Dream out. But now, given this information, was he contemplating killing him?
I'm sure there's more parts that i missed, so feel free to add on!
THE FOURTH WALL BREAK
From the beginning, you can see on George's facecam that he has green tones on his face (from the green screen). In any of his other facecams which take place at his home, that hue is not present.
The missing "broken" headphones fooled me, to be honest. Though saying "they just,,, broke" as an excuse doesn't usually work, George made it pretty believable, at least for me? George also mentioned it once or twice in the actual lore.
Right after George announced he was planning on killing Dream, Tommy pulled down that green screen and he, Niki, Tubbo, and Jack each came in and began cheering about George finally doing lore.
It's very clever of Tommy and the others to come in at that moment. Their arrival adds to the whiplash they gave their audience from George planning on killing Dream.
While adding on to the shock factor, it also makes the audience forget that GeorgeNotFound Lore, who is notorious for sleeping through major server events, is planning on killing the server's namesake.
WHAT IT MIGHT MEAN IN LORE (if the fourth wall break was canon):
This might not be canon, but if it is, then this might mean that c!George is controlled by cc!George, and every character's content creator counterpart exists.
It also may mean that this entire stream was a dream, and not real.
It might be another dream c!George was in. (He would have two dreams: one where he worked with Tommy and Tubbo to kill Dream, and the other where c!George sees his content creator self.) The stream's end may represent the ending to the dreams.
It's also possible that this entire stream was to set up for that fourth wall break, and the only main lore point was George announcing his plan to kill Dream.
However, this may NOT be another one of c!George's dreams. His dreams in the past have all been rather silly and not too closely ingrained with lore as this stream was; things are too specific for it to be 'just another dream'. Additionally, if c!George was dreaming about it (and his dream self was confident in this decision), does it mean that
Tommy's choice of not going into the water/soul sand tunnel maybe have been because cc!Tommy didn't have a trident, but it could also be interpreted because c!Tommy almost drowned in it the day after his revival, and therefore wouldn't want to go into it. c!George doesn't know this detail, so why would something like this be incorporated in his dream?
feel free to add any ideas you have/things i missed!
please don't let this flop

Watching George's stream on the smp got me thinking his relations to Quackity. Minus they kinda slept together in a bed idk wtf. Could be one of his dreams.
(All talk character and if i mention cc it will be noted accordingly)
I'm taking this into canon for absolutely no reason but a particular line caught my eye.
Transcribed by @findingjoynweirdstuff and full transcricpt here
Quackity: “The way you betrayed my trust and defied me, it could only lead to that...”
George: “Quackity no -- can you hear me? Quackity! I’m -- I’m alive! Quackity, I’m alive!”
Quackity: “George...You spent most of your life dreaming, and that’s how you’re gonna end up...dreaming, old pal.”
George: “Quackity! Quackity, no! You have to save me! Quackity, you have to save me! Quackity! Listen to me!”
Quackity: “I’m sorry...I’m sorry things had to end this way. But after Sapnap, Karl and you tried to bomb Las Nevadas, all I could do was protect myself.”
Discussion in the undercut:
I could not be the only one seeing red herrings, right?? Bare in mind this floats between semi-canon to none so take it as you will. Also if I miss a chunk of lore please let me know-
Anyways, this is fucking foreshadow. And with the double theory floating around his dreams having propethetic properties?
Bro. Like I'm sorry, bomb? You're fucking telling me the fiance or confrontation could possibly be war?? My god, what does cc!Quackity have planned.
Yes, the stream is just absolute shenanigans like any other dsmp stream on the main Georgenotfound twitch now days. But weirdly enough I don't see many people discuss why Quackity, is in most of those dreams?
Maybe because their relationship is a different jar. Look at it, pre-election George grew closer to Quackity than the Dream Team. Dream's spiral heck, even Sapnap and him slightly drifted apart. (mind this is very based I don't watch a lot of Quackity or just the El Rapids arc streams in general)
But I how think is that Quackity and George just has a stronger relation to George and Sapnap since the dethronement fall out. I'm as far to say Quackity was one of last tight bonds George had before falling into his dreamscape madness. I'm not blind to fact El Rapids was also a tight bond, it's that this is specifically Quackity.
So back to that conversation, and let's to say the theory. We know Sapnap also has upcoming lore right?
What if he initiates to bomb Las Navadas?
George finally, really wakes up and meets Karl and Sapnap to catch up. George spills that he met Quackity then tells Sapnap he is working on a country as well, bare in mind that Quackity wanted the details to kept to just "a country with entertainment." And this would be a good play with Karl's deteriorating memory not remembering who Quackity is or really faking that he does. Either way, so they go off to find this country, right?
When they do, Sapnap being his hot-headed, explodes and argues with Quackity that HE left THEM. So on so forth the conversation gets nowhere, huge fall out arc and angst. And Sapnap plots to destroy Las Navadas. Quackity still hurting, had no other choice than to defend his country. The country he made for them.
Maybe this could go along with Sapnap and Karl losing a canon life, Sapnap with his first and Karl his second. Another life lost by Quackity. They could be killed by a Las Nevadan(s). Because of course Quackity couldn't kill his own fiance's.
But George? Quackity somehow saved him last, maybe saving a final goodbye to a friendship, a life they could've had.
Georgenotfound was slain by Quackity.
