Unearth the Night of Power: 5 Authentic Signs of Laylatul Qadr Revealed!
Can we see Laylatul Qadr? Laylatul Qadr could also be seen with the attention, for the one whom Allah helps to see it. That’s by seeing its indicators. The Sahabah (could Allah be happy with them) used to acknowledge it by its indicators. However not seeing them doesn’t imply that one won’t achieve its reward, if one spends that night time in prayer out of religion and the hope of reward.…

Ya Allah, allow this tired, sinful soul of mine to reach the opportunity of participating in Ramadan, year after year falling short of the goals I set for myself, forgive me my Lord. Allow for this Ramadan to be different for me and to really bask in all the opportunities to worship, and gain benefit. Allow us Muslims to come closer together and continue to reap the fruits of what we were able to achieve throughout this blessed month. Give us the full reward of Ramadan and Laylatul Qadr, write for us a beautiful story with an amazing ending and Jannatul Firdous please ya Rabb. Forgive us Ameen.

The last 10 of Ramadan are around the corner. Leave the dunya behind as much as you can and turn to Allah with your entire heart. When you recite Qur'an, recite it for guidance. When you pray, pray the farewell prayer. When you ask for paradise, ask for Al-firdaws.
Start making dua that Allah makes you from those who reap the benefits of Laylatul Qadr. Many say, "allow me to reach that night" but reaching it is not enough, it is about making full use of it. May Allah grant us tawfiq. ✨
Also
Pls see this post as a reminder to pray for the people of Palestine, especially North Gaza.
May Allah grant them help and may we learn sabr and real QADR from them and their sacrifices.
Aameen
Thanks for reading :)

Ramadān Tips:
By Shield of Taqwa
1. Limit your use of social media and spending excessive time on it socialising. Every second of Ramadān is precious, so don’t waste your time online if it won’t bring any benefit. However, online platforms should be used for spreading reminders and benefits, and one shouldn’t stay away from it completely if they are using it to benefit the Ummah.
2. Eat healthy. Don’t overeat and stay away from unhealthy foods as it will effect your quality of ‘Ibādah. Drink plenty of water when you can.
3. Don’t waste time after you break your fast like many do and excessively socialise. It’s best to stay away from such gatherings in the first place so you don’t fall into doing and speaking about harām things.
4. Always make extra effort and do more as Allāh has made ‘Ibādah so easy for us in this blessed month, alhamdulilāh.
5. Utilise the early hours of the morning well after Fajr, as they have so much barakah in them. Use this time to recite a lot of Qur’ān, memorise and reflect over it and remember Allāh.
6. Recite as much Qur’ān as possible! If you struggle with this, base your recitation around the prayer times and try to at least read a page before and after each Salāh and increase as you go. Although there’s nothing wrong with completing the Qur’ān as that’s what the righteous of the past used to do in this blessed month, don’t forget to also read the tafsīr and reflect over the meanings. This will have a greater effect on one’s Īmān, Taqwā and Salāh, inside and outside of Ramadān.
7. Get a decent amount of rest so you can wake up frequently if able in the last third of the night to do extra ‘Ibādah. There are special times where du’ā is more likely to be answered, now imagine the likelihood of it being answered in the last third of the night, during Ramadān, in Sujūd, and even more so if that night was Laylatul Qadr!
8. Seek Laylatul Qadr every night in the last ten nights, especially the odd nights, and refrain from singling one night out and ignoring the rest. Allāh will only allow the true, sincere ones who make effort with ‘Ibādah to witness this amazing, blessed night.
9. Help your brothers and sisters whenever you can with their needs and hasten to do good deeds even faster in this month.
10. Be humble in front of Allāh and turn to Him in repentance every day and night of Ramadān. Only Allāh knows how many sins we have accumulated over the year so we need to beg Allāh for His forgiveness during these blessed days and nights, and think well of Allāh always.
These are a few tips, but there is so much more that can be done to maximise our ‘Ibādah in this month. Also don’t forget to make plenty of du’ā for the entire ummah; those living and those in their graves.
May Allāh accept our worship and help us truly give this blessed month its rights.

The last 10 nights will be here soon during it?
An advise was given before and would want others to benefit too. Plan to do even one single good deed that will be consistent for the entire last ten days such as charity, reading qur'an etc. perhaps through that manner we will not miss the laylatul Qadr. 🤍🕊️
May ﷲ allow us to witness Laylatul Qadr. ‎أمين

Ways on how you can make the most out of these last 10 days. Read below ⬇️
❥ These ten nights of Ramadhan are the greatest ten nights of the entire year, and one of these nights is greater than 1000 months. Every deed you do is multiplied immensely. Take advantage and don’t waste any time, even if it means forcing yourself through phases of laziness and procrastination; you’ll have no regrets working hard in these nights, but you will have regrets if you waste them. If you didn’t do well in your first 20 days of Ramadhan, you can make up for it by finishing strong. Aisha رضي الله عنها narrated to that the Prophet ﷺ would strive hard in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadhan more than any other time.[Sahih Muslim 1175].
❥ Memorize and keep reciting the du’aa that you should make throughout these ten nights while seeking the Night of Decree, as was taught by the Prophet ﷺ –Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni *(O Allah, You are forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me). (Sunan Ibn Majah 3850)
❥ The exact date of Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree) is not known with certainty and it could fall on *any* of these night tens. Do you really want to risk losing out on the reward of 1000+ months of worship? Whoever stands in prayer on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Sahih al-Bukhari 1901]. This is the night in which the Decree is shown to the Angels as well, and it reflects one’s provisions, blessings, trials, punishments, life, and death, so strive hard to be of the people who are worshiping Allah on this night.
❥ Prepare a list of du’aa and put your heart into it – these are nights of increased acceptance! One of these nights is the Night of Decree, so make du’aa for yourself, your family and loved ones, and our brothers and sisters around the world, especially the oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters in فلسطين, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan, Congo, Uyghurs Muslims, Rohingya Muslims and all around the world. The people you pray for will benefit from your du’aa, as will you.
❥ Try to nap during the day so that you can worship Allah more actively at night. Intend to sleep for His sake so that you can wake up energized for worship, and that sincere intention will bring about His blessing in your energy. If you have work or are busy with children, then at the very least find some time to pray qiyaam before sleeping or before Fajr – to your best capacity.
❥ Try to detox yourself completely from social media or reduce it to a minimum. Focus instead on your relationship with Allah سبحانه و تعالى as much as possible.
❥ Include a lot of Qur’an recitation (and translation, if applicable), dhikr and adhkars, lengthy prayers, and a lot of du’aa. If you have work or school during the daytime, keep your tongue busy with the remembrance of Allah as much as you can.
❥ Be patient through your other tasks, such as work, school, raising children, etc. Know that you have been given a huge blessing by being alive in this blessed month when many others have passed away. Imagine this is your last time to experience these ten nights and motivate yourself to excel as much as possible as if you’re bidding farewell to Ramadhan.
❥ Give charity throughout these 10 nights in order to be guaranteed that your charity falls on Laylatul Qadr – better than 1000 months of worship.
❥ Motivate others – your family, friends, and community to take these ten nights seriously. Remember that the nights are very short and extremely precious; this is the most valuable time of the year which cannot be wasted. Wake up your family if possible and worship Allah سبحانه و تعالى together. Truly, the deprived person is the one who misses out on Laylatul Qadr and the blessings of Ramadhan. May Allah bless our time and accept from us on Laylatul Qadr. Aameen.
(DID NOT INCLUDE CUZ NO SPACE) Ya Allah, allow our good deeds to continue throughout the year as a sign of the acceptance of our deeds in Ramadhan. Aameen 💛

📌 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀
How is our Ramadaan going so far? For some, the excitement might slowly fizzle out nearing the end of the first week. Let me share this really amazing hadith to get us back on track, in shaa Allah.
Talhah radi Allahu ‘anhu narrated a story about two men who became Muslims at the same time. One of them would strive much harder in khayr, and fought for the sake of Allah, and was martyred. The other man remained for a year longer before he passed away.
One day, Talhah dreamt about them:
❛I saw in a dream that I was at the gate of Jannah, and I saw them. Someone came out of Jannah and admitted (into Jannah) the one who had died last; then he came out and admitted the one who had been martyred. Then he came back to me, and said: Go back, for your time has not yet come.❜
The next morning, Talhah told the people about his dream, and they were amazed by it! Because logically, the first man to enter Jannah should have been the martyr, who also strove harder in khayr. So how come it was the other man who was admitted into Jannah first? To this, Rasulullah ﷺ said:
🌸 ❛Did he not stay behind for a year? And did not Ramadaan come, and he fasted, and he offered such-and-such prayers during that year? — The difference between them is *greater* than the difference between heaven and earth.❜ [Sunan Ibn Majah 3925 | Graded Sahih]
Notice that Rasulullah ﷺ mentioned Ramadaan in the hadith — Allah has blessed us with another month of Ramadaan too. And if we truly take advantage of this blessing, if Allah allows us to benefit immensely from Laylatul-Qadr, perhaps we too may exceed the rank of a shaheed, bi idhnillah. May Allah accept from us all.

Sha'abān and Ramadān
Something that benefitted me, from a student of knowledge from Mauritania who studies Fiqh and the depths of the Arabic Language :
Do you know what is the difference between Sha'abān and Ramadān when it comes to our deeds?
Sha'abān is the month when our deeds are raised up. The hadīth around this is reliable - high degree of authenticity.
Sunan an-Nasa'i
Usamah bin Zaid said:
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as Shaban.' He said: 'That is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to the Lord of the worlds, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting."'
Grade: Hasan
We know that deeds are raised all the times, at night before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day before those of the following night...And there is the yearly raising of deeds.
The deeds of the entire year are raised up to the Heavens for Allāh 'azza wa jal in Sha'abān - SubhanAllah
As for Ramadān, it is the تقدير - taqdīr (writing of the decree) of what will happen that year. It is during Laylatul Qadr - The Night of Decree, that this happens.
Tumblr media
The people of misguidance and innovation confuse the two matters, hence the need to clarify.
Allahumma ballighnā Ramadān
O Allāh allow us to reach Ramadān

If you've wasted the last week, then now is the time to step up your ibaadah ! Tomorrow, ( the day of ' Arafah ) utilise your time wisely, seclude yourself in worship without any distractions. How to benefit from the day of 'Arafah ? 1. Set your alarms for the last third of the night. Make a firm resolve and make duah asking Allah ta'ala to help you wake up. 2. Prepare a list of every single Dua you wish for (even small ones). 3. Wake up in the time of tahajjud and pray 2 rakah or 4 or whatever you can . And seek forgiveness 4. Eat sahoor while intending the fast for the day of arafah 5. Pray Fajr and do not rush to your phone or other things. Instead sit back and do all the adhkaar after fajr salat and remember Allah till sunrise. 6. If you pray salatul AlDuha after sunrise , then the reward is like complete hajj and umrah. 7. Recite a page or two from the Qur'an and begin your day. 8. Keep reciting the best supplication on the day of arafah , all day. 9. Do not sleep through dhuhr and asr. Pray your fardh salaat and try praying nawafil as well. 10. Between asr and maghrib , use the precious time for seeking forgiveness, ask Allah all your wishes (Dua list) Spend time reciting some pages of the Qur'an because each alphabet has a reward of ten good deeds. 11. Do not forget the takbeer after each fardh salaat. PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY, Stay far from social media. WHY? The Blessed Laylatul Qadr is NOT KNOWN , yet we strive hard to find it so that we can get its blessing. The Blessed Day of Arafah is KNOWN , will we not do enough to reap its blessings? How we strive during Laylatul Qadr is exactly how we should strive in the Day of Arafah ! Such Blessed times occur only ONCE in a Year ! Strive hard... @islams_message #muslimah #hijabi #sabr #islam #islamicquotes #arafat #islamicreminders #muslimillustrator #madewithlove #doodlesofinstagram #usdoodles #illustrator #notmyquote #doodlesoftheworld #dayofarafah #muslimquotes #quranicverse #alhamdulillahforeverything #arafa #digitaldrawing #mashaallah #allahisthegreatest #doodle_art #instamuslim #muslimhijab #islamisbeautiful #islamic_art #quraan #prophetmuhammad #islams_message https://www.instagram.com/p/CfsqUWnKcj3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS THAT MARK LAYLATUL QADR?
Lailatul Qadr, also known as the Night of Decree or Power, is a significant night in the Islamic calendar.
It falls during the last ten days of Ramadan and holds immense spiritual value. Here are some signs associated with Lailatul Qadr:
❄️Clear and Peaceful Night: Lailatul Qadr is characterized by a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The night feels calm, as if the world is at rest.
❄️Shining Moon: The moon appears exceptionally bright, akin to the radiance of a full moon. Its glow adds to the special aura of the night.
❄️Motionless Dwelling: The night seems still, as if everything is in a state of quietude. There is a sense of sacredness and divine presence.
❄️No Cold or Heat: Lailatul Qadr is neither too cold nor too hot. The temperature remains moderate, creating an ideal environment for worship.
❄️Sunrise without Rays: When dawn breaks, the sun rises without any rays—similar to the moon on a full moon night. This unique phenomenon signifies the arrival of Lailatul Qadr.
❄️No Shooting Stars: Throughout the night, there are no shooting stars. This absence contrasts with other nights and adds to the night’s significance.
❄️Devil’s Restraint: On Lailatul Qadr, the devil is prevented from causing mischief. His influence is curtailed during this blessed time.
Remember that Lailatul Qadr is a precious opportunity for seeking forgiveness, performing extra prayers, and connecting with Allah. May we all benefit from its blessings!

Asalamu Alikum, my name is Dalya Ayoub, founder of Life Matters Community.
Every year in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, I run the “Laylatul Qadr Charity Drive”, where I ask people to give every single night in the last 10 nights with the intention that their charity will be guaranteed to fall on Laylatul Al Qadr (The Night of Power, a night better than a thousand months!)…
As you know, I usually would choose various charities to distribute the total funds raised to maximize benefit, but as you also know, the current situation in G a z a is beyond catastrophic at the moment, and because of the scale of urgency and need, there is no better time than these blessed nights to give generously to provide some relief to our brothers and sisters in Ga za.
I will be distributing all the funds we raise in these 10 nights to life-saving projects daily in both the North and South Insha Allah.
These will include:
Iftar meals
Suhoor meals
Clean water distribution
Monetary support for those who need it
Your contributions no matter how big or small, will help our brothers and sisters in G az a DAILY in every single way possible in Sha Allah!
It’s the least we can do to help them continue to survive.
How You Can Contribute: Donate directly through the campaign https://bit.ly/StopWarsPatreon
Share the campaign with your friends and family on social media to raise awareness and support.
Thank you for your support and solidarity with us in these challenging times.
This is a call to action for all who believe in the power of humanity. Support our campaign for war victims https://bit.ly/StopWarsPatreon

Signs of Laylatul-Qadr
by Asma bint Shameem
❤️
Laylatul Qadr is the best night of the entire year and worship during it is more rewarding than worship of a thousand months.
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)
Nobody really knows “when” Laylatul-Qadr exactly is.
But we’re encouraged to look for it in the last ten nights of Ramadhaan.
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadhaan.” [Muslim 2/823]
So it could be any of the last ten nights of Ramadhaan and more likely in the odd nights.
The reason it’s hidden from us is because this way we will worship Allaah in all the last ten nights of Ramadhaan and thus earn even more rewards and have a greater hope of having our sins forgiven.
Here are some signs that only “point” to the timing of Laylatul-Qadr but these signs are NOT “absolute”.
1️⃣  The sun rises without rays
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"On the morning following Laylatul-Qadr the sun rises not having any rays, as if it were a brass dish, until it rises up."(Muslim)
2️⃣ The moon is like half a plate
🍃Abu Hurairah radhi Allaahu anhu
said :
"We were discussing Laylatul-Qadr in the presence of Allaah’s Messenger so he said : 'Which of you remembers [the night] when the moon arose and was like half a plate... ?” (Muslim)
3️⃣ The night is very calm, tranquil and pleasant.
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"Laylatul-Qadr is calm and pleasant, neither hot nor cold, the sun arises on its morning being feeble and red."
[at-Tayaalisee, Ibn Khuzaimah and al-Bazzaar with a Hasan Isnad].
🍃Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen said:
“Laylatul Qadr has signs that are occur during the night and signs afterwards.
As for the signs that occur in the night, they are:
- Strong light in that night:
This is a sign that in this present time cannot be noticed except by those in a land far away from the lights
- Tranquility:
the tranquility of the heart and expanding of the chest of the believer.
He will find a comfort and tranquility and expansion of the chest that night more than he will find in other nights
- Dream:
That Allaah may show person the night in his dream as it happened to some of the Companions radiallahu anhum
- Enthusiasm
That a person will find pleasure and enthusiasm in the standing for prayer more than he will find in other nights
As for the signs afterwards:
Then from it is the sun will rise in the morning smooth without rays, which is not its custom in the remaining days.
As for what is mentioned of decrease in dogs barking or not barking at all, then this is not correct, as sometimes a person notices all ten nights that the dogs do not bark and are not quiet.
A person may say: what is the benefit of the signs afterwards?
The answer: is to give the hard worker a glad tiding in the night and to strengthen his Imaan and affirmation.
It will increase his hope in what he did that night“[Sharh Mumti’ (6/497)]
🍃And he said:
“From amongst the signs of Laylatul-Qadar is that it is a calm night and the believer's heart is delighted and at peace with it, and he becomes active in doing good actions, and the sun on the following morning rises clearly without any rays.”
(Fataawa Ramadhaan - Volume 2, Page 852)
🍃In another hadeeth, the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“Laylat al-Qadr is a bright night, neither hot nor cold, in which no meteors are seen.”
[al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, Ahmad; saheeh]
4️⃣ There might be light rain
🍃Abu Sa‘eed al-Khudri radhi Allaahu anhu said:
“The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“I have been shown the Night of ‘Qadr’, but have forgotten the date, but it is in the odd nights of the last 10 nights.
I saw in my dream that I was prostrating in mud and water.” In those days the roof of the masjid was made of branches of date palm trees.
At the same time the sky was clear and no cloud visible, but suddenly a cloud came and it rained.
The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam led us in the prayer and I saw the traces of mud on the forehead and the nose of the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam.  So it was the confirmation of that dream.”
[al-Bukhaari (2027) and Muslim (1167)]
These are “SOME” of the signs of Laylatul-Qadr.
But just because ‘some’ or ‘all ‘of these signs are there, it does not mean that it’s Laylatul-Qadr for sure.
🍃 Shaykh al-Albaani said:
” …The tangible signs (for Laylatal Qadr) are signs which don’t necessarily prove that whoever witnesses them or experiences them has indeed seen Laylatal Qadr, this is obvious…”
But we HOPE with Allaah that we may have witnessed this blessed night and we make duaa that Allaah accepts it from us.
So do your VERY BEST.
Strive HARD in worship in ALL the last ten nights of Ramadhaan.
Make FIRM resolve
Seek SINCERE Taubah.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Don’t let it go.
And Allaah knows best
by Asma bint Shameem
❤️

HOW TO PERFORM I’TIKAF
What greater reason could there be to perform itikaf than to be kept away from the Hellfire? Here are some things about itikaf that you may not know. And even if you do, a reminder is always a powerful motivator!
↓ 1. There are 3 types of Itikaf
a) Sunnah itikaf: this is performed only in Ramadan and in the last ten days only. It is narrated by Aisha (RadiyAllahu 'anhaa) that,“The Prophet (SallAllahu 'alai hi wa Sallam) used to practice itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan till he died and then his wives used to practice itikaf after him.” [Sahih Bukhari] The Sunnah itikaf cannot be practiced outside of Ramadan.
b) Nafl itikaf: this is a nafl (voluntary) form of itikaf and can be done for any number of days (even a one-day itikaf) in which one decides to devote oneself to the worship and remembrance of Allah SWT.
c) Wajib itikaf: this form of itikaf is done when someone vows to do itikaf for two reasons: intention or condition. Meaning that a person could either vow to sit in itikaf just for the purpose of itikaf or vow to do it if a condition is fulfilled (for example, one could say, “If such-and-such thing happens, I will sit in itikaf.”)
Don’t forget to go through these Things To Do On Laylatul Qadr and Last Ten Days Of Ramadan.
↓ 2. Different Itikaf Rules For Men & Women
Itikaf is a spiritual practice that is practiced by both men and women. However, men can perform itikaf only in the mosque, whereas women should perform it in a room of their house. Some schools of thought allow women to perform itikaf in the mosque as well if proper segregational arrangements are made for them.
In addition, women must ask their husbands for permission before itikaf. And no, this is not due to any patriarchy-related reason, but because of the sanctity of marital relations. This year, however, with the coronavirus preventing congregations, some schools of thought have allowed the itikaf to be performed at home. However, the majority maintains that itikaf for men is not valid anywhere other than the mosque.
↓ 3. Benefits Of Itikaf
Of all the itikaf benefits, the greatest one is that it strengthens a person’s relationship with Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'laa)
It makes the person more used to spending long hours (and days) in the worship of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'laa).
It reminds Muslims that their purpose is to worship Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'laa) and takes them out of the worldly life that they were so caught up in It strengthens their hearts against evils and the whisperings of Shaytan. It holds major rewards for Muslims
↓ 4. Conditions for Performing Itikaf
For anyone to perform the itikaf, there are certain conditions that must be fulfilled for it to be valid.
The mutakif (one who does itikaf) must be Muslim
He/she must be of sound mind.
Women must be permitted to sit for itikaf by their husbands
It is compulsory for men to perform it in the mosque
The intention for itikaf must be made, and it should be to please Allah (SallAllahu 'alai hi wa Sallam) only.
The mutakif should be in a state of wudhu.
The mutakif should be fasting. The Prophet (SallAllahu 'alai hi wa Sallam) said, “The sunnah for the person in itikaf is that he should not visit the sick or attend funerals, or touch his wife or have intercourse with her, or go out for any but the most pressing of needs.
There is no itikaf except with fasting and there is no itikaf except in a masjid.” [Abu Dawud] However, for medical conditions (not illness) it is permitted to sit in itikaf without fasting.
5. Things Which Nullify The Itikaf
Wrong intentions for performing itikaf (such as to show off)
Leaving the masjid or place or itikaf (except for answering the call of nature). If a mutakif has no one to get them food or water, it is even permitted for them to go out and buy food but return as soon as possible.
Arguing
Conducting business transactions
Sexual intercourse (including any other form of pleasure)
Menstruation or post-natal bleeding
Mutakif not being of sound mind or body
Any sinful act.
We also recommend that you read our earlier post on Ramadan Duas Complete Collection and 30 Daily Duas For Ramadan
↓ 6. Kaffarah for Invalidating Itikaf On Purpose
If the itikaf of a person is broken on purpose (such as leaving the place of itikaf without any pressing need), they have to give kaffarah, which is a penalty for breaking a commitment.
The penalty for breaking the itikaf is to free a slave and if that is not possible, then to fast for 60 consecutive days, and if that is not possible, then feed 60 poor persons.
If the itikaf is broken without meaning to (such as due to menstruation), then the person has to only make the qadha for it next year and there is no kaffarah.
↓ 7. Preferred Acts of Ibadah For Mutakif
Apart from the obvious worship like the obligatory prayers in congregation and taraweeh, there are other recommended acts of worship to undertake during itikaf:
Recitation and memorization of the Holy Qur’an. There is no better time to learn more Surahs than in the period that is devoted to itikaf:
Durud
Du’a
Istaghfar (repentance)
Voluntary prayers
Tasbeeh
Dhikr, remembrance of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'laa).
Learning and teaching others about Islam. While other conversations are discouraged, gatherings of Islamic knowledge are considered acts of worship.
A Word of Advice
While some rules of itikaf are universal, there are certain differences of opinion amongst schools of thought so it is better to consult a scholar from your own school of thought if you face any confusion apart from the ones we have already mentioned above.

Best dua for isale sawab
Tumblr media
Turn towards Allah Ta’aala with sincere regret and shame over sins committed and make a promise never to return to sin again and seek forgiveness from Allah Ta’aala. Every Muslim should therefore value this night. The virtue of this night is established from these Ahaadith is that from the very beginning of the night Allah Ta’aala turns with special mercy and attention towards the creation and forgives those who repent and seeks forgiveness. Moulana Abdur Rahman Mubarakpuri writes in his commentary of Tinnidhi “The sheer number of Ahaadith regarding this night serves as proof against those people who refute the excellence of this night.” Some of the pious predecessors used to specially devote this night for Salaat. He says: “So many Ahaadith and reports exist regarding the excellence of the fifteenth night of Sha’baan that one compelled to accept that this night possess some virtue.” Whilst even Allama Ibnu-Tayrniyyah, a scholar notorious for refuting such things, also accepts the virtue of the night of Bara’at. The Muhaddith, Ibnu-Dihya, has also agreed that neither has anything authentic been narrated regarding the fifteenth night of Sha’baan nor has any specific Salaat been narrated for this night via reliable narrators. Moulana Yusuf Binouri (RA) says: “I have not come across any Sahib, Marfoo or Musnad Hadith regarding the excellence of the night.” None of the narrations regarding the excellence of this night of Bara’ at are void of criticism and comment by the scholars of Hadith. The foundations of the Shari’ah is the Qur’aan, Sunhat and the lives of the Sahabah (RA). However, it should be borne in mind that a vast majority of narrations declaring the benefit and virtue of this night are in fact quite weak. It is due to this reason that it is called “The Night of Bara’at” (ie the night wherein judgment of saviour from Jahannam and punishment is passed). Amongst them is the fact that countless people are forgiven by Allah Ta’aala during this blessed night. Several Ahaadith extol the tremendous merit of this occasion. In the same mould is the fifteenth of Sha’baan. Some explicit examples of these occasions are the month of Ramadaan and Laylatul Qadr. May Allah grant him long life.Īllah Ta’aala has presented his bondsmen some special occasions wherein they have a golden opportunity of earning the mercy and forgiveness of Allah Ta’ aala. This leaflet is a summary of booklet by Sheikhul Hadith Hazrat Moulana Fulur Rahman Muni of Darul Uloom Islamia, Azaadville. All praise is to Allah Ta’aala who has blessed us with a Deen wherein little actions reap tremendous rewards as expounded by His Beloved Rasul, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), and blessings upon the Sahabah (RA) who spent everything for the upliftment of the Deen.

The Benefits and Sunnah of the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah
This year, Dhul Hijjah will begin either: from Maghrib on 20th July 2020, or Maghrib on 21st July 2020.
The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are almost upon us and we don’t want to miss out on a single blessing. There are no days in the year more beloved to Allah than these days; just like the last ten nights of Ramadan, these ten days are crammed with opportunities to earn reward. Even if you are not going on Hajj, there’s plenty you can do to make the most of Dhul Hijjah at home.
Do dhikr (remembrance of Allah) The Benefits and Sunnah of the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah ...
Let’s begin with a simple yet effective action - increasing your dhikr. In Makkah, the Talbiyah will be on every pilgrim’s tongue throughout the day and night; those at home have also been commanded to praise Allah constantly in these ten days.
The Eid takbeer is an example of dhikr that ticks all three of these boxes - tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed.
You can also make dhikr after your five daily prayers - Subhan-Allah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times, and Allahu Akbar 34 times.
Reciting Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Glory be to Allah and praise Him) one hundred times a day will wipe away sins - no matter how burdensome they are.
These simple measures will ensure you are remembering Allah throughout the day and benefitting from the blessings of Dhul Hijjah.
Erase all your sins
One of the most amazing things about Hajj is that, if your Hajj is accepted from you, your sins are completely erased and you are once more as pure as a newborn. But is there anything non-pilgrims can do to seek forgiveness on such a large scale during Dhul Hijjah?
The answer is - yes! Just like making Hajj to Masjid Al-Haram (the Ka’bah), praying in Masjid Al-Aqsa carries the amazing blessing of having all your sins wiped out. Of course, the Prophet (saw) was aware that many of us would find it difficult to make this journey, which is why he prescribed for his Ummah an alternative; gifting light to Masjid Al-Aqsa.The Prophet (saw) was asked, ‘If one of us cannot visit it [Al-Aqsa], what should we do?’ He (saw) said, ‘Then he should make a gift of some oil to be lit therein [in its lamps]. For indeed the one who gifts this to it, will be like the one who has prayed therein’. (Ahmad)By gifting light to Al-Aqsa during these blessed days, you will earn forgiveness for all of your sins, in sha’ Allah - just as you would on Hajj.Pray at night - and fast during the day!
It’s been two months since the last ten nights of Ramadan, and many of us are missing the ‘spiritual high’ of seeking out Laylatul Qadr through our nightly worship. But did you know that praying at night for the first ten nights of Dhul Hijjah is equivalent to praying on Laylatul Qadr?
The above hadith shows that Allah loves to be worshipped on these ten days, and one of the best ways to ensure you maximise your worship is by fasting all day and praying Tahajjud at night! When you sacrifice food, drink and sleep for Allah’s sake, you are truly reaping the benefits of these blessed days.
Fast on the Day of ’Arafah
If you are unable to fast for the whole ten days, try to fast on just the Day of ’Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah. Just as Laylatul Qadr is the most blessed night of the year, ‘Arafah is the most blessed day of the year. The Prophet (saw) said, ’There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than on the day of ‘Arafah’. (Muslim)
Like Laylatul Qadr, we should spend this day seeking forgiveness and availing ourselves of Allah’s incredible mercy. On this day, non-pilgrims have the opportunity to extinguish the sins of two years by fasting! The Prophet (saw) said, ′It (fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah) expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year’. (Muslim)
Give more Sadaqah
Not only are these the most beloved days to Allah - but He loves to be worshipped on them, and for us to put extra effort into doing good deeds during these days. Whether you’re helping around the house more, making a loved one a cup of tea, or simply smiling at your family, friends and colleagues - these actions become more valuable during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
Many of us maximise our Sadaqah during the last ten nights of Ramadan, but the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are just as valuable. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to earn extra rewards for simple good deeds! You can give to the Rohingya refugees facing the worst of the monsoon season, donate a water well to a poor community, or give Sadaqah to where it is needed most.
Give a Prophetic Qurbani
Abu Talhah (ra) reported, ‘The Prophet (saw) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his Ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’. (Tabarani and Ahmad)
For those who are able to, following the example of the Prophet (saw) and giving this extra Qurbaniis an excellent way to gain reward during Dhul Hijjah. Not only will you be reviving a forgotten Sunnah, you will be also doubling your impact by feeding even more families a rare meal with meat during the days of Eid-ul-Adha.
In sha’ Allah, these seven tips will help you make the most of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. From everyone at Muslim Hands, we’d like to wish you a blessed month full of good deeds, forgiveness and closeness to Allah.
