i love it when caroline’s sent over to do a Covert Mission and not exactly seduce klaus but occupy his time, to be the distraction so to speak *rolls eyes for an eternity* and then they get to talking and she finds she actually enjoys hearing about him/getting to know him, and while caroline’s definitely manipulating the circumstances to her advantage klaus and caroline also enjoy each other’s company

and i mean it’s superficial at best if the writers don’t develop it but also their dynamic is insane, thematically speaking, and no one else was able to replicate it (which is not entirely a bad thing but i digress)

Is it just me here? Because I feel like Jeremy could have had interesting stories about him but somehow especially after season one he just became a prop and a decoration. Everything around him and about him was never properly used. He ended up either in uninteresting love stories (really boring stuff...........................) or as a plot device just so we could see Elena's troubles, Elena's story, Elena's suffering, Elena's whatever......

Damon is desiccating and he appears to Caroline through a connection he has created with her. It is like a mental image and hypnotism.

I am so sorry that the writers have abandoned all those interesting traits in the show. They could have really played with them more.

Many people say that it was Caroline's vampirism that changed her into a better person. I am calling bullshit. Being a vampire didn't make Caroline any better because simply vampirism enhanced what was ALREADY there.

Going through the motions and surviving through abuse and challenges and becoming stronger instead of giving up was what made Caroline better. And that happened and started happening LONG BEFORE she became a vampire.

I am watching 1x05 and here we have the aftermath of the founder's party where Damon tried to kill Caroline after he had made her his chew toy sex slave. Caroline speaks about the holes in her memory and you can see how troubled she is and how changed she is from the girl that was introduced in the pilot. She faced death and abuse and rape and she might not remember it because Damon mindraped her too but she can definitely feel it. And she fights through it.

You can claim that she is superficial and not mature enough and whatever and I won't dispute you completely because she has traits like that in her character but Caroline still stands on her own two feet and fights back and accomplishes everything without needing emotional and financial crutches by using others and she does it with a smile and with positivity and by maintaining part of her girly innocent and refreshing immaturity (part of her age and actually healthy) were others use what life throws at them as an excuse for becoming monsters and for hurting others.

There was a quote that has been circulating in tumblr that says:

“Just because your pain is understandable doesn’t mean your behavior is acceptable.” — Steve Maraboli

And this is why so many people are rooting for Caroline. Because she is not using her past and current pain as an excuse. She fights back through actions and she becomes better while others succumb to it and become worse. And Caroline is not trying to change or redeem anyone. She is not there to serve any pathetic dream of redemption for villains and broken things. She is just being herself with all her flaws and irritating traits but also with all the parts of herself that make her a decent person. She is not a saint. She has darkness now and her morality is skewed yes but she has a personality. One that was there before vampirism.

In conclusion Caroline had been changing into a better version of herself ever since she was human long before she turned and vampirism then amplified it. And this is why she is so special. Not because of magic. Not because of what she can physically do. Not because of her new abilities. She is strong now, ageless, fearless. But she has been strong before and that is what made her fearless later.

And in tvd 1x05 Stefan (my precious drama queen lol) says to Damon:

During the dark ages when a vampire's actions threatened to expose or bring harm upon the entire race they would face judgment. They sought to reeducate them rather than to punish them.

And this is EXACTLY why I got SO MAD with the Originals and with HOW MUCH they ruined that show even before it aired!

Can you imagine all the LEGENDARY storylines they could have given them? From secret societies that still exist in the modern world to magestic flashbacks, to danger and to showing the very roots of vampirism and showing their psychotic persona, their experiences through time, all the knowledge they gathered, their connection with a supernatural underworld, elegance and carnage and plotlines that could give them crazy ratings and instead of that they ruined the Originals and they delivered teen artless and talentless OOC plothole pregnancy drama 101.

The last scene were Caroline is shaking and crying in Elena's arms saying that she is fine is very powerful and shows how beautiful Elena's and Caroline's friendship used to be. Before the writers messed it all up.

And here you can see how terrified Caroline was. So there you have it. This is why I couldn't deal with season 4 (especially) in so many levels.

The writers have lost ALL CONNECTION with the characters and it is a sad thing to watch.
