I just finished playing the dlc of the lies of p, and honestly I don't think my emotions were well rested enough for the show I had after finishing the game…

Spoiler Alert : it was a lot of O<O moments where I just had to pause the game, write the lore down and then check it, trying to connect and correlate data...

I just have this one nagging ich, if Lea Monad died with Romeo when Geppetto arrived; that means Romeo became the King of Puppets in the future but what about Lea… Well I do have a deranged theory of what she became….

Overture Timeline Thoughts

Up to Zelator labs and while this might change later so far they've been pretty cagey on exact years and dates. What I've managed to glean regarding the timeline so far:

Spring being a kitten vs full grown in the main game means P went at least a full year back, probably longer. Cats usually stop growing at around 18 months. If I had to guess I would say he was probably a gift to Antonia to celebrate the Hotel's grand opening.

At the same time we know that the Frenzy has either not started yet or just barely started. So far the only hostile puppets I've run into have been at the circus and that could be either a fluke or a experiment/soft test of the Frenzy on Gepetto's part. We never learn exactly how long the Frenzy has been going on in the main game, but it clearly went on a while- enough time for the Stalkers to attempt to contain it, fail, and then basically be wiped out with Krat only then becoming a ruin. To me that always felt like months at least, probably closer to a year.

Based on Antonia's letter and the state of the hotel we can also assume that Carlo's death is pretty recent. It seems likely that Antonia shut down the hotel in order to take Carlo on a tour of Europe (an old aristocrat tradition to signal coming into adulthood) and only recently returned and began work on reopening the hotel. That means Carlo probably died right after returning to Krat and Gepetto refusing to mend fences one final time (this DLC is already giving me tons of thoughts on Gepetto but that's a separate post).

We know from Carlo's memories on the beach in the main game that he and Romeo tried to get the Legendary Stalker to train them and she brushed them off, then felt guilty after Carlo died, blaming herself. That brush off probably happened prior to Carlo leaving on his tour of Europe, and based on the letter you can find in the zoo and Lea's message for Markiona, it seems likely that Lea took on Romeo as an apprentice in response to Carlo's death, as a way to try and assuage her guilt. Given they need time to get close that would put Carlo's death at a few months ago- a half year maybe. Given Romeo's emotional state was likely very volatile after Carlo's death that seems like plenty of time for him to start clinging to his new mentor as his sole lifeline. Which of course raises the obvious specter of...what happened to Lea that would leave Romeo in a position to be willing to become the King of Puppets and cooperate with Gepetto's plan to bring Carlo back?

Anyways all this to say is, I'm wagering two years back in time, a half-year after Carlo's death.

2. What if she picked up a stick and lopped you across the head fifty times in the blink of an eye

Imagine her sword breaking, so she menacingly approaches you. Fully intent on creating a full-on round of applause with nothing but a severed puppet arm, herself, and the almighty one-handed clap.
