3d things

edited an old 3d meao head model i had to show the difference between xatpan meaos (flat faced) and ixuí meaos (long faced)

looks a bit funny from above hehe

this is done in sculptris so i cant really move those around freely... when im a lil better at blender i'll be making some poseable meaos for sure.

A lil headworld lore bit: Xatpan meao live in colder areas than ixuí meao and call themselves irqi! This affects how other tribes call meao too... in their region meaos would be known as irqi ixuí and irqi xatpan.

Also my current blender situation: I'm trying to use what I learnt and remember of all those isometric bedroom blender tutorials to make a lil guy... this what i came up with!

i thought it might be nice to give it a mouth... truly a learning experience lol

its neat because earlier this year i couldnt even move a cube in blender, and althrough i havent practised 3d as much as i wish i did, i've been making progress and i can make some things without following a tutorial now! its neat, learning new things is cool :)

where to start with coding and game creation

ambitious yes, but does anyone know what sort of videos, resources, game creation engines, etc i could use that's beginner friendly? or just something i can use to dip my toe in the water?

Learning Blender part 2: Dungeon Door

The donut tutorial was great to learn the program, but all I did was following along. This dungeon door tutorial focused on sculpting and gave me way more creative freedom.

I feel like I got a grasp on sculpting now, obviously I need years of practice to get good, but I know how it works. Sadly can't say the same for shading and texturing, so guess that's next...

He has entered the third dimension

he is.. Kind of rigged. The cloak rig in particular is truly a disaster - so much so that for the statue i just poly-modeled it into shape. the topology is also a bit challenged in the joint areas - so he is far from perfect, but I love him and I learned so much making him!!!

Thinking in 3D

Learning the basics in Maya... It's challenging & exciting to learn a new program. LinkedIn 2024 Essential Training, Youtube videos and in-class tutorials have been very useful. Taking notes has made it easier to remember where all the features and menus are!

That one cutscene where Kris talks to Tenna alone makes me a bit sad...

I've also realized that even if I draw Kris entirely normally, as long as they're next to Tenna they look like a tiny child the size of a pea. This can also make me a bit sad if I try hard enough

Learning Blender! I did the donut tutorial in 3 days. This is the result.

3D tutorials has come a long way since I attempted to learn Maya in 2008. I've learned more in a week now than I did in two months back then.
