In my YouTube video today I mention that M found an old camera with pictures of our #homeschoolroom from before it was a #homeschoolspace (!) . . I’m still trying to find the cable so I can download them into my computer... but I just had to share them with you anyway I can do that you can see the difference. Also look how tiny they are? 💗💗 . . s w i p e >> for a few more shots. Before we turned it into our hub for all of our supplies and things... it was a playroom with their toddler beds 🛏 turned into a reading couch sort of day bed. . . In the part 2 video you’ll see we kept the green rug here because repurposing anything g you can helps out sooo much when you’re just starting out. You also DONT NEED a room to start homeschooling. We were just blessed to have a spare room to use. You can use a bin by your coach, your dining room table and a buffet... a cabinet in the kitchen or an old dresser to store things. Even a hallway closet. If you do have space you can use - or even a corner in a room... in a big believer in creating designated intentional spaces for things to help decrease stress in searching for things AND because spiritually when we create space for an area of our life I’m a big believer the universe & our guides take notice... and it sends a powerful energetic message out. . . And it does help ✨you in your path. . . • E’s been learning about how to make an outline ✍️🗒this week • : this is a growth area for him - writing. his attitude + willingness to write has improved very much compared to a year ago and #writingorganizers like #writingoutlines and #brainstormingthoughts on a dry erase board has helped greatly (dry erase vs paper is great if your babes dont like crossing out things and keeping their slate clean). : One of the things I’ve learned the most when #homeschooling2e is - to be patient in their #asynchronousdevelopment and areas. fine motor skills can get to develop in other more enjoyable ways like sketching + coloring for instance (and lately) - which will eventually feed into the writing space. : If your child enjoys dictating thoughts + stories to you but is still not ready to do the dual process of craft the word dialogue in their minds AND write - be their scribe until they’re ready. : There was a bit of a block in thought flow when we tried this out signaling that readiness was not yet there, and so you adjust accordingly 🖤. : We’ve also taken a break from our byl lit read aloud copy work and have been discussing copying song lyrics for a change. e has been dusting off his unfinished art sketchbook ... and showing an interest in art again (it’s been a few months). . . we were all oooh and ahhhing over his own today 🦉. . . meet the “wall of china” as the kids have come to call it • it comes out during their spelling test, or whenever I (or they) don’t want to see each others answers. . . kids in the kitchen • making #vegetarianstuffedshells 🥄 . . I started on dinner early today and before I knew it I had 2 curious faces peeking at the doorway wondering what I was making... . . We had an impromptu cooking lesson + they had a blast stuffing the shells... while watching them cook in he oven. . . we enjoyed activity no. 1 of my Fall Mini Unit extension activity - going along with my fall bucket list item #1..Drink Apple cider ☕️🍂🍎. . . It’s not cool enough to turn on the heating... bit cool enough that warm mugs help take the chill from playing outside 🌲away.. . . Afterwards as part of our art lesson we created an augmented reality (AR) art gallery (with build your library 📚). . they then painted a Halloween mini canvas we found at the dollar tree... . . Made some changes around the #homeschoolroom over the weekend to accommodate the #logicofenglish materials and board - as well as the #allaboutreading set up. . . It’s also a great hub for our group work for the 3 subjects we’re doing together: spelling, science, and history. . . We’re starting our day with spelling after breakfast for the past 2 or so ish weeks and it’s been working smoothly 👌🏻. . . E has a desk he uses for his individual subjects and we’re shopping for one to add to M’s individual area (this long white one is the one she was using). . .
