自由に空間を浮遊している作品があるせいか、目線がいろいろなところにいってしまう。一体何を見せられているんだというのが最初の印象。

映像と音響と照明と浮遊感とかランダムな動きとか、言語がわからない分、何が起こってるのかわかってないんだけど、いつも日本でみてる展示とは全然ジャンルが違うものをみているので、空間にいるだけで面白かった。

見せ方がさらに多様にあるんだなと気付かされるのと、おそらくこの時にしか見れないものをみているし、それが大事なものになる。

コレクション展は、ほんまに展示台がなんか違うくて、それが気になった。天井から展示ケース吊ってある(？)のとか、絶対日本では地震の関係で無理では？

文章とか言語が違うとわからないので、ものに対して視線が集中すると思うんだけど、ものを見るだけでも色々発見することがあり、良い体験🫶🏻

美術を通して遠くまで行けた気がして、本当に有り難いし、どんな体験も大事だと思う。

Ladies imitates art

Two ladies having fun with selfies and mirrors outside Leeum Samsung Museum of Art.

This sculpture is "Tall tree and the eye" by Anish Kapoor, 2011.

It consists of 73 polished steel spheres in three axis. And the viewer is not only challenged to see nature in the metal, but also to play with the spheres reflexion. Including the spectator's appearance in them.

No wonder creative selfie-takers take the opportunity to have fun. As the artist intended.

The Samsung Showroom of art and tech

The Leeum is situated in the hills overlooking the more famous Gangnam area of the Republic of Korea Capital. It contains a large collection of Korean contemporary and historic art. In addition, some special exhibitions for shorter or longer time in a separate wing of the museum.

Leeum was based on the art collection of the late Ho-Am Byung-chull Lee, the founder of the Samsung Group. It is operated by the Samsung Foundation of Culture. The three wing building in itself are three masterpieces of architecture, designed by three international renowned architects.

Being run by the largest smartphone producer in the world and a behemoth of digital technology globally, the museum is of course supported by the latest technological innovations. This enhances the experience and not least the accessibility of the art exhibited.

“Today’s weather is letter.”❄️💌 All the untold letters will fall as snow flakes and be delivered to your person. I’ve been to Leeum Museum in Seoul. I loved the a-historical exhibited way that Korean traditional art and contemporary art were exhibited in the same room. The technology used in the museum was futuristic and inspiring. Staffs of the museum were wearing stylish pale cream colored uniform and looked like k-pop idols matching with the atmosphere of the museum. well, not good, but you know what I mean

i agree! i think a lot of us history teaches belgian as the martyr of wwi (“poor little belgian”) and king leopold’s ghost is pretty foundational in addressing the brutal colonization of the congo. i’m following it up with dancing in the glory of monsters by jason k. stearns, and i highly recommend both if you have the time.
