Hi! Hope youre doing well! Can we get your review of Walker 2x15 please ?
Cordell and Cassie are on the case of money counterfeiting ring that brings back Twyla Jean, who is half-way through serving her term for bank robbery and happens to be the ex wife of the ring's middleman, Pete Davis. Twyla was also Cordell’s ex-lover when he was undercover investigating the bank robbery ring Twyla was involved in and he ended up putting her in prison. I'm always impressed that whenever Cordell and Twyla reunite, rather than painfully awkward as it should be, instead it carries a tone of honest regret from the emotional torch they have for each other. Cassie lightens the mood with suggestion of a sting operation that she pretends is based on her Dallas experience but is actually lifted from an episode of ‘90s tv show Hawk Shadow, about a vigilante that vowed to keep citizens safe from rabid bears. Twyla, also a fan of the show, recognize the episode inspiration and immediately bonds with Cassie.
Humor aside, Cordell is having trust issues. Despite the very mature breakup between him and Geri in the previous episode, Cordell feels betrayed by her who was not only his lover but also his best friend since childhood only to see her pursue a relationship with her birth family, the same family that stole Cordell’s ancestral land and ranch. The same ranch is currently being mismanaged by the new owners and endangering the horses by allowing poisonous hemlock plants to grow in the pastures.
Cordell and Twyla go undercover as crpyto currency dealers to find the head of the counterfeiting ring by approaching Davis. Cordell’s distrust of Twyla that is a spillover from Geri’s betrayal, and Twyla’s anger at Davis who had left her with their “mountain of” debt just before springing her with a divorce (implying this is why she got involved in bank robberies), threatens the sting operation. Twyla is forced to improvise and Cordell is forced to put his trust in others in order to salvage the sting operation and nab the ring leader.
Twyla earns her early parole and a fresh start, something that Cassie can understand as Cordell gave her a shot at a fresh start when she returned as a ranger. Cordell admitted he couldn’t keep his promise to visit Twyla in prison because he put her there in the first place, and further explains that there was always “lies and a badge” every time they meet, there was never a honest resolution or even a breakup prior to her prison sentence. Twyla forgives Cordell and he reintroduce himself to her as if for the first time, a fresh start.
Meanwhile the rest of the Walker family is shopping for a new ranch to buy when Stella discovers the poisonous hemlocks plants growing on their old ranch land. She convinces Bonham and Dan to put aside their difference to clear out the hemlocks before the horses, himbos of the domestic animal world, finds them. Poor Dan realizes he is way over his head trying to manage the ranch and ask for Bonham’s help. Normally I would say to hell with the Davidsons, let them accidentally poison the horses. But since we know the Walkers will eventually get their land and horses back, then I say it’s very big and generous of Bonham to agree to help his worst enemy as a way to honor his family’s legacy.
My score: 9.5 out of 10. Good case of the week, better resolution to the emotional fallout of past episodes and even past season, great closure (for now). Half point deduction for the Walkers still not getting their land back.

It’s the fact that limbo shouldn’t even exist. It literally came out of nowhere, there is no explanation for it. There was never any mention of it or indication that it existed in any of tvd/to. You’re telling me with all the people who died in those shows that we wouldn’t have heard about it? There was the other side, there was Cade’s hell, there was the ancestral well, which were all destroyed. But there had never been anything about limbo, and not in legacies either until 4x03. Landon died in 2x15 and was literally about to go to peace in 3x01, he was walking to the light, and it was not limbo. Yes, he was in a sort of limbo state, but not the actual limbo dimension. He didn’t have to cross a lake, there was no dock, no ferryman. We’ve seen characters end up in a limbo state in the other shows too (like Bonnie in the forest with Elena or Stefan at the high school with Elena in the tvd finale, for example). Which is sort of like their own personal limbo where they’re at temporarily before either coming back to life or finding peace. So it made sense to see Landon in a similar state in the cemetery before he nearly went to peace. And he certainly didn’t need a coin or anything to do that, it was just right there waiting for him, which is consistent with the other shows. Then they decided to create this literal limbo dimension, which was clearly just for the sake of having a place to trap Landon in to make him suffer even more. And they provide no real explanation for it or how it exists or how it came to be. Or why Landon didn’t end up there in 3x01, why literally no other character before 4x03 has ever ended up there. It’s just there all of a sudden for no good reason, or we’re supposed to believe it’s always been there, and now everyone who dies ends up there? We’re supposed to believe the other characters who died in the past, like possibly Klaus, ended up there? (And somehow all these dead people, like Elvis, happen to be in Mystic Falls as well?) It’s ridiculous and makes no sense. It’s like they’ll retcon whatever they have to just as a way to keep screwing Landon over.
