After ROK Munakata decides to take the Alphabet Boys to yoga classes to lower stress. To his surprise, Fushimi is very flexible and they can't help but watch him every time they do a new exercise. So most of the squad is imagining things about Fushimi.
For once being a skinny nerd is in Fushimi's favor. So maybe Munakata's decided that everyone seems highly stressed lately and that a nice stress-relief bonding activity is in order. He does a bit of research and discovers that yoga is considered a very good outlet for relieving stress as well as helping a person keep in shape. Munakata signs everyone up for a class, Fushimi of course complains that whole time and doesn't see why he has to come along. Munakata says he thinks this will do Fushimi some good, it will teach him some splendid relaxation techniques. The rest of the squad are actually pretty into this though, like yoga doesn't sound too bad (especially compared to what Munakata usually signs them up for). Hidaka is super disappointed that Awashima didn't come along too though, she went to a separate yoga session with the S4 ladies so Hidaka doesn't get to enjoy the sight of her in a sports bra. He's hoping for at least a sexy yoga instructor but it's just some buff guy and he's a little deflated.
That is, until about halfway through the session when he starts to notice that Fushimi-san is actually very good at yoga isn't he. Fushimi turns out to be very flexible and he's just doing even the more difficult poses with complete ease, like his face says 'ugh get me out of here' but his body could do yoga all day long. Munakata praises him for being so focused and Fushimi clicks his tongue irritably, doing another pose perfectly. Hidaka pipes up that Fushimi-san is...sure...flexible...isn't he. Hidaka realizes that his mouth has suddenly gone a little dry as he watches Fushimi do some kind of complicated spread leg pose. Akiyama starts coughing a little like okay everyone let's pay attention to the instructor but he keeps looking back at Fushimi too. It's pretty clear that most of the room is watching him, the squad keep falling over each other because they're so busy watching Fushimi they aren't paying attention to where everyone else is. (Somehow they get through the session and Hidaka's like just in time, that was getting dangerous. Thar's when Munakata reveals that he's signed everyone up for another session, this time they will be doing the so-called 'hot yoga' and the squad aren't sure they can take hot sweaty Fushimi doing those kinds of poses.)

2. Phitsanulok
Close enough to the world background website at Sukhothai for a pit stop, however left out via all but some, this sleepy provincial metropolis preserves one the country’s holiest and most lovely Buddhas. 3. Koh Samet
It’s three hours by way of car from Bangkok, then forty five mins via ferry from Ban Phe Pier – but once you’ve arrived, you’ll discover it was worth it, and you truly need to go away. Out in Thailand’s eastern Gulf, little Samet island ticks all of the bins iciness-escaping visitors require: crumbly white beaches, obvious warm waters and a laid-lower back vibe that sets it aside from larger spots such as Phuket. Positive, busy inns do exist – Hat Sai Kaew (Crystal Sand beach) is a buzz of banana boats and energetic accommodations. However head for the likes of Ao Nuan, Ao Wai and Ao Pakarang (Coral Bay in Thai) and you’ll discover life has all the urgency of a swaying hammock. Crack open a chilled bottle of Singha beer and do nothing till the scattered seafood eating places beckon for sizzling prawn lunches which could remaining hours.
4. Trang
Yes, there are nonetheless unspoilt seashores and islands in Thailand. Especially within the southern province of Trang. Right here the ramshackle timber capital stands next to an extended stretch of wooded area-sponsored bays and creamy white strands, covered with the aid of Hat Chao Mai countrywide Park. Offshore islands include Koh Muk, Koh Libon, Koh Phetra and Koh Kradan, ringed with reefs, trimmed with white-pepper-sand and – for now as a minimum – devoid of the large resorts that clutter the coast of neighbouring Krabi province.
5. Bangkok
Neon-frantic and temple-tranquil, the Thai capital is actually unmissable, with stacks of things to see and do but you fancy spending a while. Delivering reams of cultural and historic attractions, BKK also flaunts a present day facet with muscular skyscrapers and myriad outbreaks of current structure, appropriate artwork galleries, and captivating museums. While you want to spend, the city is prepared to sell: in frenetic markets (among them the floating range for which the Thai capital is one of these hits) in addition to mega malls, and the dining scene is a spin, from gourmet restaurants to avenue food. After dark matters are buzzing, with pulsating nightclubs, live music, cocktail bars, high-quality rooftop bars and adrenaline-laced Muay Thai fights. Getting around is straightforward, the BTS sky education, MRT subway, numerous buses, taxis, and tuk tuks. Perhaps great of all, you’ll discover accommodation to fit your needs – something your bag and your budget.
6. Chiang Mai
It’s often dubbed the northern capital, and in its own manner, Chiang Mai gives Bangkok a run for its cash, with a mad whirl of lifestyle and nature. You won’t run out of spiritual shrines – there are more than 500 temples to appreciate. In the meantime, for youngsters, and adults, too, there’s Chiang Mai night Zoo. In case you want to stretch a leg, strive trekking in lush jungles and rafting along boiling-white rivers. At Thailand’s highest point, Doi Inthanon, you’ll get to fulfill ethnic hill tribes, witness an international of amazing waterfalls and feed watermelons and bananas to remarkable elephants at an ethical sanctuary. Not like Bangkok, the nightlife right here is low-key, however don’t take that as a demonstration to live indoors as soon as the sun goes down. There are lots of bars to unwind in, and if you’re itching to stock up on brightly colored Thai pots, bags and shirts to present the oldsters lower back home, the night bazaar has your call written all over it.
7. Phuket
Thailand’s largest island and one of the most-visited and most-visited within the usa, Phuket has many faces. First-timers often head to the thronging sands of Patong, on the west coast, regarded for its no-holds-barred nightlife and watersports. Past, although, there are beaches to match all of us. Seize a boat to the scenic Freedom seaside, switch off on Karon seashore, drink within the views from Kathu seashore, and put together for lots greater. Promthep Cape is the place to move for liquid-lovable sunsets. After darkish, the leisure cranks into existence: there a international-magnificence shows and exhilarating Muay Thai fights; food is, without exception, scrumptious, from the smart eating places of Phuket town to the simple, scorching seafood grew to become out at road and night time markets. For fun and giggles, Baan Teelanka (the upside down house) and Phuket Trickeye Museum are the biz.
8. Ayutthaya Thailand
Even if you hate the idea of history on vacation, this vicinity will convert you: effortlessly reached from Bangkok, the Unesco-listed Ayutthaya is one of Thailand’s elegant historic cities. Evocative ruins take you on a journey lower back in time to Siam’s golden age. Wat Yai Chai Mongkorn is mainly photogenic, with tall stupas which you are permitted to climb, surrounded by rows of Buddha statues swathed in saffron tones. You’ll need to make a date with Wat Mahathat, in which the famous stone Buddha head peers out from the countless roots of a banyan tree growing around it. See, too, Wat Ratchaburana and Wat Si Sanphet. The old Dutch and Portuguese regions are really worth a visit and the floating market is an awesome area to choose souvenirs. An employed bicycle– or, in case you’re an experienced rider, a scooter – is the most effective way to appreciate Ayutthaya. That said, tuk-tuks amass on each corn
9. Krabi
Considered one of Southern Thailand’s most famous provinces, Krabi can’t fail to seduce: it has existence-changing reviews for vacationers each at the mainland and on its islands. Koh Phi Phi is frequently said to be one of Thailand’s most picturesque islands; check out Maya Bay and Phi Phi perspective to see why. Koh Lanta is an extra laid-back affair, with long, sandy seashores, chilled-out beach bars, mangroves and a Moken (sea gypsy) network. Animal lover? You’ll need to volunteer at Lanta Animal Welfare, now not just for the feel-true element but to help make a difference. Koh Jum and Koh Rok are more than one the province’s smaller and lesser-visited island favorites. At the mainland, Railay is a rock climber’s paradise, Ao Nang is a bustling seaside motel, and Krabi city has an enticing local-Thai vibe.

Hi, could you maybe translate this article for me? Apparently it says that Ziga Jelar and Peter Prevc are struggling with knee injuries and I would like to know how bad it is. Thank you! w w w.dnevnik. si/1042935808/sport/skoki/peter-prevc-in-lanisek-brez-medenih-tednov-
hi! of course, i’m glad you reached out to me.
here is a short summary of it (and also a couple of other articles about the same topic):
they all had a training in Kranj, where they were also interviewed
Lanišek, Zajc, Peter Prevc and Jelar are the ones who are currently the best (Lanišek especially)
6 Slovenians will be on the competition in Wisla (Anže Lanišek, Timi Zajc, Peter Prevc, Žiga Jelar, Rok Justin, Jan Bombek, Lovro Kos)
Domen Prevc is currently in a bad form, but he should be prepared in winter
Pero and Jelar have light injuries in their knees
FIS published 3 formats of competitions that could happen in winter (A-everything normal with all spectators, B-normal competitions without spectators, C-closed group of ski jumpers with competitions on nearer hills (i don’t really get this one??)
everyone will have to test themselves for covid before every competition
they oficially said goodbye to Jaka Hvala yesterday, who will apparently go into cooking
they had a lot of changes with equipment and Timi Zajc has the most problems with it, because he has less fabric between his legs
that’s basically it, let me know if you see anything else you want me to translate

Mountaineering in Slovenia
The first time I met Slovenian mountaineer Ales Cesen, we were snowshoeing across an ice cap in Iceland, about 2,000 miles from his native country.
It was only October, but winter had come early that year, and the climate was particularly dour, even by local standards. Unhindered by the mist and hail, Cesen made just one noise: a rhythmic slooping sound as his feet dragged along the glacier. Perhaps it was his hiker’s stoicism. Or maybe he was just peeved about the weather.
I’d been in Reykjavik on business when an old friend and seasoned expedition leader, Siggi Bjarni Sveinsson, invited me to explore the country’s southerly expanse of volcanoes and glaciers. I was lured by the promise of new adventures but unprepared to share them with such a veteran climber. I could barely keep up.
We paused when the wind subsided, and Cesen’s wife, Polona, exhumed a plastic package from her rucksack: a bag of hermetically sealed doughnuts, like the ones you find at the gas station that will survive the apocalypse, and we qualified our shared sweet tooth indulgence as “cultural exchange.” Cesen abstained, and as he blazed ahead to explore a fissure forged by the cataclysmic eruption of the volcano Eyjafjallajökull back in 2010, Sveinsson signaled for me to pause. He leaned in and said in his aspirated Icelandic accent: “You know, Ales is—how do you Americans say it? Ah, yes—a ‘big f—ing deal.’ ”
This was 2016. Cesen was on a survey mission in Iceland hoping to understand what sparked the country’s tourism ascendancy and figure out how to replicate it back home. In many ways, the Slovenia of today bears striking similarities to the Iceland of a few years ago: There are vast expanses of uncorrupted nature to explore, freshly farmed meals to enjoy, a population of kind and indomitable souls, and a paucity of visitors.
That’s why Cesen decided to create Midgard Experience, a customised trekking outfit and mountaineering academy for all levels that opened in June. His goal is twofold: first, to devise a series of technical courses that can initiate hikers into the impenetrable-seeming world of alpinism. And second, to turn his native Slovenia into the latest must-visit adventure destination—the next Iceland.
A view of Slovenia’s Julian Alps from Jasna Lake
In Slovenia, Cesen, 36, could best be described as climbing royalty. His father, Tomo Cesen, is an acclaimed mountaineer known for his solo ascents of several perilous peaks in the Alps and Himalayas in the 1980s. The southeasterly passage to the summit of K2—the world’s second-highest mountain and a significantly more difficult climb than Everest—is called the Cesen Route in his honour.
Ales has since become the torchbearer for his family’s shared climbing passion. Polona, also 36, is an accomplished climber in her own right; they’ve even named their eldest son Rok. In 2015, Cesen won a Piolet d’Or—the Academy Awards of alpinism—for completing the first ascent of the north face of Hagshu in the Indian Himalayas with fellow Slovenians Luka Lindic and Marko Prezelj. And, among other honours, the Alpine Association of Slovenia, a conglomeration of 285 smaller climbing and hiking societies, recognised him as mountaineer of the year in 2017.
The next time I see Cesen, it’s one year later to the day. He’s working out the final logistics of his adventure climbing outfit and has invited me to spend some time in Slovenia to give his new alpinism product a trial run. As I touch down amid a sharp crown of peaks near Ljubljana, the country’s capital, I realise that the small international airport is positioned on what must be the country’s only strip of flat terrain. The craggy geography explains the cult of climbing that exists in Slovenia—think of it like California’s branded surfing lifestyle but at 8,000 feet above sea level.
The Alpine Association of Slovenia is the country’s largest nongovernmental organisation. An affiliate of the Olympic team, it has more than 57,000 registered members. That’s roughly 2.9 percent of the nation’s 2 million inhabitants. Each year the association leverages a margin of its profits, and about 29,000 volunteer hours, to maintain 10,000-plus kilometres of trails and a network of 181 bivouacs and mountain shelters. Last year it collected €21 million ($24.4 million) from guided hikes, canteen purchases, and bunk accommodations, not including the taxes and revenue from private enterprises such as Cesen’s.
In his new role as founder and private expedition leader for Midgard Experience, Cesen is an unofficial ambassador for the Julian Alps who’s memorised each crest and crag of the range, similar to the way we intrinsically know every wrinkle and scar on our own bodies. He’s not ebullient by American standards, but he’s warm and welcoming during an introductory hike along the shores of Bled, a glacial lake famed for the spire of the Church of St. Martin that seemingly floats in its middle.
As we stamp our way up to lookout points and hidden waterfalls, I prod for insights about what physical challenges we’ll tackle in the days ahead, but really it’s Cesen who’s sussing me out, gauging my abilities and interests to tailor a mountaineering experience that will push me just far enough outside my comfort zone. At the end of the day, Polona, who came on the hike, insists on a group selfie before popping open the trunk of their Peugeot and unveiling some cultural exchange—a tray of intricate, homemade petits fours, which we inhale.
The next day, Cesen leads me on my first technical climb. He chooses a towering rock face in the nearby Kamnik Alps, a sparsely visited collection of ridges along the Austrian border where he and his alpinist peers ready themselves for Himalayan expeditions. The look of it is daunting for a beginner like me: It’s 8,000 feet high and fully vertical to the naked eye, with teeny ledges to rest your legs spaced 30 feet apart.
With little ado, harnesses are latched, helmets adjusted, and ropes unfurled; then we steadily hoist ourselves from ledge to ledge, inching farther above the Technicolour tree line. Each lift of the leg is a riddle that needs solving. Finding suitable footholds and finger grips in a sheer cliff is like putting together a 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle.
Cesen leads the way with ease, a loose rope connecting the two of us like a mobile belay—or the mountaineering equivalent of training wheels. Exerting little or no effort at all, he inserts spring-loaded cams into stone crevices to create a system of hooks for our safety ropes. His first lessons come quickly and cover three critical skills: spotting unlikely grooves and fissures in the stone, trusting one’s instincts, and learning to play the mountain like a game of chess. With the latter, I realise that mountaineering is as much a feat of mental endurance as it is physical exertion. You have to appreciate the gravity (literally) of each move while setting yourself up for a successful path ahead. Gradually, Cesen loosens our link, creating distance between us and testing my newfound ability. Slowly and carefully I build a sequence of steps and grips together—a “rock ballet,” as Cesen calls it. And as the ground rapidly peels away from me, I realise this isn’t merely a guided climb, but a master class led by the Daniel Day-Lewis of mountaineering.
We reach our first crest around midday and follow a thin dragon’s tail of stone toward a second, higher peak. By the end of the afternoon we reach the summit, a craggy moonscape freckled by snow puddles and alpine moss. Our reward is an extended overnight break at a small but surprisingly modernist bivouac cabin—it’s almost Scandinavian in style, built from blond wood and geometric panes of weatherproof glass. Inside, five ergonomically designed beds extend from the walls, each lined with a thin, yoga mat-like pad. A weathered journal sits on the table by the door containing the scrawled signatures—Slovenian, mostly—of other tired climbers who’ve overnighted in the hut.
With the warm setting sun still gleaming, we enjoy our packed provisions on the smooth shale outside: creamy farm cheese from a dairy near Bled, homemade prosciutto cured along the Italian border, and morsels of a decadent chocolate cake that (unsurprisingly, by now) Polona had packed for us. Cesen briefly breaks the silence between chews: “I can tell that you belong in nature,” he says. His words, though characteristically succinct, feel like the most gratifying compliment I’ve ever received. Exhausted but beaming with pride, I stare thousands of feet down the valley and take in my accomplishment.
Cesen doing what he does best.
Today, Cesen’s exclusive adventure outfit is fully operational. The private three-day, two-night itineraries are custom-tailored and start at €980 per person including overnight accommodations and instructional guiding. Whether he’s taking guests on advanced ascents along the north face of the Julians, setting on multiday treks through the Valley of Seven Lakes, or practicing rock climbing techniques at the arcing walls of Crni Kal, Cesen imbues each trip with a sincere passion for nature and sport. Intentionally or not, he’s also succeeded at something the travel industry often struggles to achieve: bridging authenticity and adventure.
“Why is it that when it comes to conquering a mountain, most travellers sign up for factory-fare treks like the Kilimanjaro parade or the overcrowded Inca Trail?” I wonder aloud to Cesen, recalling when I visited Machu Picchu and witnessed a zombielike flood of hikers pouring through the legendary ruin’s Sun Gate.
“It’s a bit like faking romance in a brothel,” he replies, deriding the prevailing trend of these so-called checklist climbs. If he’s successful, Cesen says, he’ll supplant travellers’ desires to summit Everest with the gratification of mastering an intimidating (but surprisingly accessible) adventure sport.
Currently, Bled and its sister lake, Bohinj, get the lion’s share of Slovenia’s international traffic—mostly from tourists who trundle through on bus tours and assume the twin lakes are the country’s only drawing card. Holidaying Slovenians, however, take to the Alps, where Cesen’s operation is based. Ascending Triglav, the country’s highest peak, is like joining these locals on a rite of passage; roughly 60,000 nationals overnight in the scatter of mountain huts there each year.
Being an alpinist and being Slovenian are two sides of the same coin. Undoubtedly, this propensity for fitness and nature has played a role in the country’s high standards of living. (Slovenia regularly ranks toward the top of the Global Peace Index.) It certainly explains why Slovenia claims 759 registered professional climbers—the highest number per capita on the global competitive circuit—and 13 of the coveted Piolet d’Ors awarded in the last 26 years.
It turns out that Slovenia, much like Ales, is—how do you say it?—ah, yes, a big f—ing deal.

The Burning Book: A WIP
The Burning Book is basically a lore-book, so most of the entries are histories without much (if any) direct character interaction. This might be boring, but I figure that its the best way to keep my lore straight. I’m trying to write it so that it could be used in-world as a sort of religious text, to read to children as a warning or some such. Also, sorry about the gibberish names, I do have a dictionary/pronunciation guide in progress.
Pai Gandarin ed Geleventar – The Creation of the Other-Kin
For nigh on eight hundreds and a score of years after the ending of the Campaign of Supreme Right, the world was at peace. The Menata had displaced the Elata to the highest peaks of the world, and the Darata to the deepest depths, but there was a peace. The Menata spread as the Chosen Children of Eltava, unhindered, taking what they pleased. Forests were razed, and deer hunted for food and for sport, and great tracts of land were disturbed and planted with cities and villages and fields.
Now this greatly displeased Eltava’s sisters, whose domains were being raped by the dominion of Man, and they began to make hinderances for the Menata. And so Kyra, Queen of the Plants, brought into created thistles and nettles, and great thorny trees, and the spiked brambles and bushes, and all the deadliest of plants to punish the Menata. But they persisted, and learned how to avoid these, and use them to their own devices. And so Xeda, Queen of the Animals,  brought into existence the poisonous beasts of the world, and the great hunters of the wilds. But these too man subdued in large part, and they became naught but nuisances. Now Malada, Queen of Fungi, whose domain suffered as the others did, created the poisonous fungi, and created the flesh-eating fungus. And these resulted in great death and fear among men, for they had no cures for such ailments. Now did Stroda, Queen of the Insects, create all the scorpions and spiders, and other poisonous insects to spite man, and she created the locusts to devour their crops, and the roaches to devour their stores. And man found these to be most troublesome, and many a township and kingdom did starve during the first years of these maladies. And Rima, Queen of the Fishes, and ever close to Baris, created the great sea predators, among which rank the great sharks and squids, and the poisonous fishes. And these caused man grief for a time, but it was not overly great, and they were soon overcome.
But Casta, Queen of the Birds, and ever close to Chismo, had no direct quarry with the Menata, and so she created crows to pick at their crops, and great predator birds to steal the weakest of livestock, for her sisters were adamant that the Menata be punished by all.
But the sisters found none of these to be overly deterrent, and in many cases only caused greater destruction of their realms. Now this puzzled them greatly for a time, for they could find little difference between the Children of Eltava and the creations of her twin Xeda. After many centuries passed by Man’s reckoning, they found their answer. The difference was not in their constituency. It was in their creation. For Eltava had ceased to be after the creation of her various Children. Her life-spark had split into the millions of souls that inhabited each of her creations.
And the sisters thought for a time, and came jointly to the conclusion that they must follow in Eltava’s footsteps, and cease to be singular entities, but to live in their creations. And in great mockery of the First Children, they set to work.
Kyra, Queen of the Plants, did create the guardians of her forest realms, and of the great plains and hills of the world. For the forests, the Dryads took the task; their woody fingers to evermore tighten around the throats of the unwary, their rudimentary tools to split the skulls of the foolish, and to poison the cowardly. For the plains and hills, the various Sprites, the flower-children who are alone but pests, but in great amounts deadly, for they carry ever the threat of the poisonous flowers, and they ride upon the bees and the wasps and other such members of  Stroda’s realm.
Xeda, Queen of the Animals, did create a wider assortment than any other, for she felt most strongly against the Children of her twin, for they were so violently different than her own. And so she created many of the twisted, half-men that now roam the world. She created the great Giants, with their one leg and long, powerful arms to traverse the mountains of the world, and set a single eye in their skulls to forever watch and a ravenous in their guts, to forever devour their victims. She created the Straventar, the plains-kin, to walk the plains, and disrupt any construction that Man may make; their legs are long with too many joints, and can easily outpace even the fastest of horses, their arms long and like the wind, for they are both swift and powerful. What weapons they use are long and made from the bones of the fallen. Hers are the trolls that guard the swamps and lakes of the world, waiting like her great lizards from just below the surface. Hers are the Velbianliben, the skin-changers, whose at once appear perfectly human and perfectly as predators. They are among her greatest guardians, for at need they can infiltrate the cities of Man and become animals, killing with wild abandon. But Xeda created also the nightmares of the world with her malice, and there is no room here to name them all, for they number legions.
Stroda, Queen of the Insects, did create only the wisps of the world, which lure the unwary to their deaths in the night.
Rima, Queen of the Fishes, did now create her own guardians. Hers are the great leviathans of the sea, the sea-dragons and the krakens that drag the ships of Man into the depths, and leave the corpses to be nibbled upon by the fish and to drift to shore. Hers too are the Selkies and the merfolk, who lure the mourning and the lonely to their deaths. And in the depths of the sea there are likely a great many more, waiting to rise and punish Man.
Now did Casta, Queen of the Birds, cast her bid. She created the Nerbivisentar, the winged men, who roost in the mountains and wield blades of stone and of ice, and drop great rocks upon travelers through their eyries. So too did she create the various winged lizards, the dragons and the wyverns, which rain down fires and venoms upon travelers and hunters, and upon the settlements of Man. Hers is the Rok of the sea, which snatches ships out of the water and feeds the sailors to their roosts. But hers are also the gentlest of the Geleventar, the Pegasi and the Gryphon, and the Crow-men who aid the lost and frightened.
Of all the sisters, only Malada did not create a mockery of Man: she had no need to. Her toxins and the spores of her fungi devastated those who came near enough, and in a short time the flesh-eating diseases that her creations inflicted were enough to drive even the bravest of the Children of Eltava away.
But the sisters spared one of the First Children, an Elatan child, who had lived her life in the forests of the north, and was cared for by the creatures there, and who defended that wood from the encroaching Menata. To her they granted their last soul fragments, and so in her lies a part of each of the Seven Queens, and her word is Justice, and her life is as that of Jiama, and she is known as the Forest Queen.

Levidromes
A levidrome is a word that when spelled backwards makes another word. Well, at least not yet. It is not in the Oxford English Dictionary. Levi Budd is a six-year-old boy from British Columbia in Canada who has coined the term 'levidrome' after spotting that the word 'STOP' spells 'POTS' backwards. After realising that there is no such word in English for this phenomena, a social media campaign has started to get this word in popular usage (hence this post). I wrote a short Python script this morning that will pull all of the levidromes from a dictionary file. The full list is copied below.

It is interesting to note that some levidromes are also palindromes. I wonder whether we need a new word to describe this phenomenon also?  Furthermore, there is no word in English for "a word that you make up in order to make another word make sense". I suggest: "emordivel" ?

Sanctuary, part 8 (RR/Lylla)
The Guardians meet some of the other Uplifts who were rescued in the operation that recovered Lylla.
*****
It wasn't a long ride. The hovercar followed the ring road that ran around the edge of the park, or what used to be a park before Ego's sprout attacked. Nova Corps, in an abundance of caution, had used something (probably a squadron of hovering fighters) to burn the remaining mass after it went inert. The explosive growth of the Ego-mass happened in two stages, corresponding to the two times Peter was used as a "battery", and Nova wasn't about to assume the once-again-inert mass would stay that way. As a result most of the memorial park was a field of congealed lava and scorched vegetation.
"They've been scanning it daily to make sure we didn't miss a single crumb of whatever Ego was made of," Dey said as he drove. "Another week and they'll call it good and start rebuilding."
A fringe of trees remained at the edges of the park, and Dey drove down the ring road until they passed through a guarded gate. Ahead was what was once and would be again a sports field, twenty acres of grass surrounded by trees. An air-transportable field hospital sat to one side, as did several prefabricated buildings.
"Rocket," Lylla said, her face pressed against the window, and the raccoon was right there beside her, for on the grass next to the hospital two Uplifts were sparring.
Both were similar in size to the raccoon and otter, but were clearly of differing species. The taller was gray-furred, rounded of head and short of muzzle, with a long cylindrical furry tail and retractile claws that appeared and disappeared as he fought. He stood on two feet, while his opponent used a more feral style.
This second Uplift was built somewhat like Lylla, cylindrical of body and short of leg, with a powerful triangular muzzle and a bushy tail as brown-black as the rest of him. Though the gray-furred Uplift was fast and skilled it was immediately obvious the feral was easily the deadlier of the two. It only took ten seconds for the low-slung creature to bait the gray into a kick, dart beneath, run right up the gray's back and deliver what would be a fatal neck-bite in a real contest.
"Brrr," Peter said. "That one's fast."
"That's Sharptooth," Dey said as he brought the cat to a stop. "Deadly little guy. The doc'll explain but we've found that there are different 'types' or classes of Uplifts among the rescuees. Some got a mixture of skills, like Rocket here has piloting, weapon skills, and mechanical skills. Sharptooth is a pure combat model. He was built to kill and he is very good at it."
The feral Uplift popped up on its hindpaws to look at them as they exited the car, and quick as a flash it shot over to them on all fours, followed by the gray. "Ah!" said the feral, rising once more onto its hindpaws. It was unclothed, save for a black harness that blended into its fur, and male. "It is Rok-ket and Nine-Six-"
"Lylla," interrupted the otter as Rocket was opening his mouth to say the same thing. "I'm Lylla now."
The gray-furred uplift, who wore a pair of shorts unlike Sharptooth, stuck out his hand awkwardly. "Hello Lylla, Guardians, Dey," he said. "I haven't picked a name yet, so I just go by Foxtrot."
"But you're a cat," Peter said, causing Rocket's elbow to thump into his thigh on one side and Gamora's to whack into his ribs on the other. "Ow! That's not what I meant!" He said defensively. "I know what 'Foxtrox' is. But you're a Terrain cat, and Sharptooth here is a weasel or something. And Rocket and Lylla - you're all from Terra!"
"The doc will explain," Dey said patiently. "Sharptooth, Foxtrot, you'll get a chance to talk to the Guardians at dinner with the others. We have to go see Doc Foster now."
"See you at din-ner," Sharptooth said, which would have been less disturbing had the carnivorous Uplift not been looking them over much the way a hungry man looks at a steak. He and Foxtrot then returned to their exercise. No bolts showed through the feral's thick pelt but the usual signs of Uplift and surgery were visible on shorter-furred Foxtrot's back as he turned away.
"I know that movement," Gamora said as she watched them. "Lylla does that one too." The feral Uplift once again closed in at lightning speed to mock-bite the gray, who at least got in a clawed swipe this time. Both were holding back in the perfectly measured way that intense training, or programming, leads to in sparring.
"By the way, don't pet Sharptooth," Dey said. "Or rather, don't try to pet Sharptooth. He's working out some socialization issues." He unconsciously rubbed his hand.
"So is Rocket," said Peter.
"Yeah, yeah," Rocket grumbled, and Drax laughed, Lylla giggled, and even Gamora smiled.
The passed between two prefab buildings. One was open on the side, exposing a long work area with tables and workbenches. Three more Uplifts were here, two long-eared ones with white and brown fur and a long-furred black and white creature with a great bushy tail. All were so engrossed in working on their projects that it wasn't until Peter spoke that they looked up.
"More Terran creatures, Rocket. Bunnies and a -"
The black and white one jumped, dropping a piece of the rifle she was disassembling. "Rok-ket," she said. "It is Rok-ket!" The others leapt up, tearing off their welding goggles to look.
"Um, yeah," the raccoon said, edging away from the intense gaze of the three. "Yeah, its me."
"Rocket, please," the white-furred long-ear said, and pushed a tray of parts across a table to him. "If you would."
"Oh," Rocket said, and felt across the parts with his sensitive little hands without seeming to do more than glance at them. "All right."
The Guardians had seen him do it before, the intuitive grasp of shapes and mechanisms that was his greatest skill. Snap! went two parts as they were joined, then a series of clicks almost too fast to follow as he fitted them together. What seemed a random collection of components became a pulse pistol, a higher-tech sibling of the Gauss gun that used miniaturized gravity generators in series to accelerate projectiles.
"Power cell's a dud," the raccoon said as he set the completed weapon down. "Too light. No storage core. For safety while training, right?"
"Yes Rok-ket," said the black and white one. "Thank you for showing us." She already had the pistol half apart again, showing the same intuitive grasp of its design as Rocket, though to a lesser extent, perhaps due to lack of practice or less aptitude.
"Not used to being a rock star, are you," Peter said as they finally approached the clinic.
"I am Groot."
"I don't know what that means either buddy," Rocket said, but he was still looking over his shoulder at the workroom. He stopped dead when he turned around and saw the sign over the door.
Welcome to Sanctuary, it read.
"Sanctuary..." Lylla chirped, and Rocket nodded. At that moment he saw her ear flip around. He'd learned early on that her hearing was better than his but even he heard a faint footfall and looked for the source. Gamora, too, was suspicious about it and turned to look, her hand on her sword.
There was nothing there. Wait, no, not nothing. There was a distortion in the air, as though part of the building wall was closer than it should be. Rocket sniffed, listened, looked.
"You still cast a shadow, dumbass," he said, and watched as something - an Uplift! - faded into view. He was quite naked, solid black of fur and wearing silver goggles with red lenses. It was as he watched the Uplift's fur lose the color and pattern of the wall behind it and resume its natural hue that he realized what was going on.
"Active camouflage!", he exclaimed, and slapped his forehead. "Why didn't I think of that! Lylla, that layer under your pelt. It has to be active camo!"
"Hi Rocket," the long-eared Uplift - Peter would later call him a "bunny" like the two at the workbench - said. "I'm Blackjack. We met when you rescued me."
"Oh yeah, the guy who was being operated on," Rocket said, and accepted a handshake. "I'm glad you got out. I lost track of you when we got to all the cages." And I nearly died, he didn't say.
And then it was finally time to enter the clinic. There was one more surprise waiting for them there, and it wasn't a pleasant one.

Post rok. Yata began to notice that he could not see objects far in the distance, but believed that this was overwork. His boyfriend Fushimi began to notice that Misaki often squints, but Yata refuses to acknowledge the problem. Until Anna and Fushimi trick him into an optometrist and it turns out that Yata is short-sighted. And now the three of them should buy Yata glasses (or rather a few) so that he sees better and lenses (tricks on a skateboard are not very good for preserving glasses).
Imagine Yata declaring loudly that he doesn’t need nerd glasses right in front of Fushimi and his big thick nerd glasses XD Yata would probably deny that he was having a problem as long as possible, feeling like no way he’s having eye trouble his eyes have always been awesome. Fushimi is the one who notices it first, he’s well aware of what the signs of this kind of thing are. Fushimi stops by to see Yata after work and maybe they go to get a bite to eat, and Fushimi notices that Yata’s squinting to look at the menu. Fushimi teases him like ‘maybe you’re going near sighted in your old age Misaki’ and Yata’s a little too heated when he tells Fushimi to shut up.
Fushimi starts noticing more and more after that, maybe Yata even messes up a skateboard trick because he misjudges the distance to the ground due to not being able to see right. Afterward he’s a bit banged up and in a bad mood, not wanting to admit why he messed up that trick. Anna’s concerned about him too, like he’s sitting on the couch at the bar nursing his bruises and Anna puts a hand on his leg and says his name. Yata tries to give her a smile but it’s shaky and she knows he’s hiding something. He changes the subject when she tries to ask though, saying he’s going to go get cleaned up. Kusanagi sees Anna watching him go and asks if she’s okay, Anna says she needs help and can Kusanagi drive her to Scepter 4.
So a few days later Yata’s all confused because Anna pretty much begged him to take her somewhere and when they get to the address she provided it’s this big office building and Fushimi’s standing there waiting for them. Yata’s all wait what’s going on and Anna’s like ‘Saruhiko, now,’ as she grabs Yata’s wrist and together Fushimi and Anna drag Yata inside. Yata’s like wait what the hell, stumbling inside and looking around as he realizes that they’re in an eye doctor’s office. Anna says she made Misaki an appointment. Yata insists he doesn’t need his eyes checked and Anna looks crestfallen, Fushimi clicks his tongue and is like ‘that’s not how you speak to girls Misaki.’ Yata looks at Anna and he pretty much knows he has to give in, like he can’t say no to her sad face and he has no choice but to quietly go into his appointment.
Of course it turns out he needs glasses, Fushimi gets to tease him about who’s a nerd now and Yata’s all shut up and help me find some cool glasses. Anna is very determined to help him find some too, imagine her picking out all these red pairs for him to try. Fushimi finds him like a sports pair that Yata can wear while skateboarding, Yata grins and thanks him while Fushimi looks away and mumbles that it’s nothing (also maybe Misaki looks okay with glasses, just a little bit).

Ko Lanta, also spelt as Koh Lanta, is a beautiful island off the southwestern coast of Thailand, part of the province of Krabi.
Surrounded by the Andaman Sea, the warm clear waters lap up against the pristine white beaches where you can laze away a sunny day, before experiencing a fiery beachside nightlife scene that will have your hair standing on end. Average temperatures hover around 30 degrees C (86 F) and the area is thought to be one of the origins of the Thai people, with evidence dating back to the prehistoric period. Ko Lanta is a place to relax, where the words island life seem to resonate with ubiquity.
1. Grab a bite from the Traditional street markets
When in Thailand, going to a street night market is a must. As in the rest of the country, Ko Lanta proudly hosts such markets everywhere. Perhaps the best of the markets is the night market in Baan Saladan on Wednesday evenings. Market stalls are open all day long, but the night market really gets going at around 4 pm and goes through until around 9 pm. An array of food, clothing, and souvenirs are available, at often very cheap prices. If you like to eat your street food from a skewer, you will very much enjoy this market. You’ll find meat on a stick, fish on a stick, and deserts on a stick. In fact, if the vendors found a way to achieve it, I’m sure they’d sell massaman curry or pad Thai on a stick too. The clothing and souvenir stalls will be like many you have seen throughout Thailand if you have been elsewhere in this wondrous country. There’s definitely something that will appeal to you here with all the numerous things to do and sights at the street markets.
2. Let the Fire shows take your breath away
No evening spent on Ko Lanta would be complete without taking in one of the breathtaking fire shows that can be seen on beachfronts up and down the island. Watch the sunset away in the distance and retire to one of the many beach bars and soon enough you will be able to spot the glow of fire along the shore. A typical example will see between 2 and 5 young Thais with fire sticks, throwing them high into the night sky before catching them, often behind their back, between their legs, or with their arms outstretched above their faces. One particular show I took in saw an electrifying tightrope performance in which the performer juggled with fire sticks whilst walking a rope suspended above the gathered crowd.
3. Explore the Khao Mai Kaew Cave
A collection of caves and tunnels found in the centre of the island of Lanta Yai, Khao Mai Kaew Cave will leave you in awe of the power of nature and a little sweaty. The hot air inside the cave can be stifling for those not used to being literally inside the earth. You will find an underground lake in one of the caves as well as a whole host of wildlife including bats, snakes, and spiders. Visitors will need to dress appropriately for the caves as it takes around 2 hours to complete in humid conditions and will involve a lot of climbing, walking over naturally formed rocky terrain, and some crawling through very tight spaces at times. The visit also requires a short trek through the jungle to arrive at the cave’s entrance.
4. Take a leisurely boat tour
Walk along any main road on Ko Lanta and you will find no shortage of tour operators offering boat trips to neighbouring islands, back to the mainland, or even to Langkawi, an island belonging to Malaysia. One particular tour operator – Lanta Dream & Paradise – offers private longtail boat tours daily to islands such as Ko Rok and the Phi Phi islands as well as snorkelling sites around each island.
5. Help out with the Lanta Animal Welfare
Ko Lanta, similarly to the rest of Thailand, sadly does have a culture of stray animals. Roaming dogs and cats are taken to Lanta Animal Welfare to be cared for in a shelter that gives the animals the care and attention needed. Visitors can help the shelter with cash donations, animal adoption as well giving their time to help look after the animals. Dog walking is encouraged by the shelter and organised walks are offered each day to fit around the searing midday heat. The shelter provides medical services to many homeless, abused, and injured animals and is working to educate its visitors on the causes of distress to these unfortunate animals.
6. Let's go to the beach
Ko Lanta is blessed with some of the best beaches you will find in southern Thailand. Long stretches of white sandy beach are flanked by crystal blue waters on one side and relaxed resorts and beach bars on the other. My favourite beach is Klong Dao Beach in the north of the island. Around 1 mile/1.6 km from the pier in Saladan, the beach has golden sand, a gentle wave break, and is lined with young and old alike enjoying the pleasures of being beside the sea. The west coast of Ko Lanta is where you will find all of the beaches on the island, which means each beach will enable you to watch the sun set on the horizon. I stayed at Lanta Summer House, which gives direct access to the beach from the hotel front.
7. Take a stroll around Lanta Old Town
Lanta’s old town is a beautifully preserved village on the eastern side of the island. Originally a sea gypsy settlement, the town was once the main trading port of the island. A historic feel runs through the town with a distinct Chinese influence coming from the settlement of Chinese traders over the last few centuries. Houses built on stilts jut out into the sea, with views of the mainland and at high tide, the waves crashing beneath your feet. The first full moon of March sees the Old Town host a festival of culture, known as the Laanta-Lanta festival, which lasts around 3 days and invites revellers to enjoy local food cooked by some of the islands best chefs as well as live music performances. Shine Talay restaurant is built on stilts above the sea and features a wooden swing overlooking the bay, offering excellent photograph opportunities.
8. Visit the Koh Rok Island
Clear blue water, coral reef and an abundance of fish make Koh Rok Island a must see when on Ko Lanta. Beautiful beaches and warm seas make for a memorable day trip swimming with the abundance of tropical fish that the Andaman Sea houses. Around an hour speedboat ride from Long Beach on the south of Lanta Yai, the Koh Rok islands form the southern part of the Mu Koh Lanta Marine National Park. Wether diving or snorkelling is your activity of choice, the Dive and Relax tour company give travellers the opportunity to witness the wonders of the sea, from your very own Finding Nemo challenge to diving with native sea turtles.
9. Pay a visit to the Mu Ko Lanta National Park
Opened in 1990, Mu Ko Lanta National Park is home to a diverse array of animals including coral reef animals, tigers, and cobras. It consists of many islands in the south of Krabi Province. Once on the main island, you can participate in water sports such as boating, scuba diving, and snorkeling. You can also hike through the islands through the mountainous terrain, rain forest, and beach forest. After an exciting, but perhaps exhausting tour of the park, you can lounge on one of the park’s iconic beaches. The park is well known for its pristine beaches with impossibly blue waters and fine white sand, so you will definitely love your beach experience.
10. Browse the wares over at the Hammock House
Is there anything more relaxing than a store that sells vividly colored hammocks? The vibrant hammocks sold in this store are special. They are handmade by people of the Mlabri tribe of Thailand. Mlabri translates to saved because the tribe’s way of life was threatened by deforestations. The members were displaced and have sustained themselves by making and selling their quality, hand-woven hammocks. Not only can you get a beautiful, durable hammock but also, you can help the tribe prosper.

Vietnam held the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup trophy again after 10 years after beating Malaysia 1-0 in the second-leg final of the tournament that took place at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi, on December 15 night. Nguyen Anh Duc heated up the atmosphere at the stadium and outside when he scored from a wonderful volley inside the box in the sixth minute.

Earlier, Tran Dinh Trong was fouled right in the beginning of the match. Vietnamese goalkeeper Dang Van Lam received a yellow card after a clash with Malaysian forward Zaquan Adha in the eighth minute. In the tenth minute, Malaysia's Mohamadou Sumareh took a backheel shot but it did not go in.

Nguyen Trong Hoang received a yellow card for fouling a Malaysia player in the sixteenth minute. Tran Dinh Trong got a yellow card, a third for Vietnam three minutes later. The 44th minute marked an excellent save from Dang Van Lam as he blocked a shot from outside the box of a Malaysia player. The score was maintained until the end of the first half.
Vietnamese footballers celebrated the first and also the only score of the match. (Photo: VNA) During the second half, the Vietnamese football players were proactive in attacking and coordinated with each other harmoniously. Lam made another amazing save from a header of a Malaysia player in the 50th minute and saved a free kick from outside the box in the 53rd minute. Nguyen Phong Hong Duy took a shot from long distance but it went over the bar. In the 78th minute, Malaysia's Muhammad Syafiq was given a yellow card for tackling on Nguyen Quang Hai. Just one minute later, the team’s captain Mohd Zaquan received a yellow card for fouling Dang Van Lam, the fifth for Malaysia. The second half had four additional minutes. No more goals were scored until the referee blew the final whistle, and football fans nationwide are expected to enjoy a big fest tonight.
Vietnamese football fans outside My Dinh National Stadium on December 15 night (Photo: VNA) Vietnam stormed emphatically into the final of the AFF Cup after the team drew Malaysia in the first-leg final of the AFF Cup at the Bukit Jalil national stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 11. Speaking to reporters at the pre-match conference in Kuala Lumpur on December 10, coach Park Hang-seo pointed out that it has been 10 years since the team has played in a major final. At the press conference on December 14, the head coach also said he would meet Republic of Korea and Vietnamese supporters’ expectations by keeping the AFF Championship trophy at home. A fan raises Vietnamese and RoK flags.
