The thing is, I think that Rex's friends didn't exactly not look for him. They certainly care for him to a certain degree, and they showed it horribly during apocalypseburg when they tried to change everything about Emmet. But I do think they did look for him.

That being said though, I don't think they looked for very long.

But if you really put it into thought, Emmet served as the group's main motivator throughout the first movie.

And I think that if you look into tv tropes, you would be able to see how well Emmet fits into the heart character (I might make a post about that someday, not rn though), as he did bring the group together, and was the closest person to stop the kragle before convincing Business to stop of his own free will.

The master builders all seem to give up easily and are quick to make hasty decisions. So what do you expect from them after they loose their main source of motivation?

They stop looking for him.

and leave him for years with the hope that they will finally find him

So yeah, they might do a couple of small celebrations every year in honor of him, maybe make a statue too, but they stop looking for Emmet, and that hope he has just

slowly fizzes out

And then he builds Rex from the ground up from that pain of being left behind and watching his friends get over him and forget about him that easily.

Of course, another, albeit smaller reason for this headcanon of mine is that it has so much potential for more angst (and Au purposes) because if Rex finds out they did look for him, he would probably experience a small glimpse of joy or relief they still cared, they didn't forget that's still left of his Emmet side.

But once he finds out how they just gave up on him in a few months, his anger is going to erupt again, the grief and pain that they never thought that he could survive without them is going to hit him all over again.

i had a vision and passed out while making this. /j

Look I just. I just love them. I haven't drawn anything of them except for now. I can't put it into words. But. Imagine realizing that you're deeply in love with someone after months of kind of both dating her and her boyfriend.

These are sketches of @burgycreeper405-blog TLM Superheroes AU

The 1st one is a group shot of from the bottom right: Rex/Breaker, Batman, Emmet/The Special, Lucy/Darkstorm, Unikitty & Benny(not sure what his superhero name is)

Most of these are @burgycreeper405-blog designs apart from Batman, I wasn’t sure what he was supposed 2 look like, so I just redesigned his Excalibur look.

The 2nd sketch was inspired by the ending of Rex/The Breaker’s Villainy Backstory (check out full backstory on @burgycreeper405-blog page)

It’s of Emmet/The Special & Lucy/Darkstorm giving Rex a hug when they are able 2 calm him down & learn who he is, Rex couldn’t hug back due 2 not being able 2 control his powers, but he still embraces the hug.

I’ve been wanting 2 draw this particular scene for quite a while & I’m very happy with the end result.

One of the first ones i have is kind of based on some fanfics I read, but in this au the cops are masterbuilders who are kind of undercover in business' corporation, but nobody except for Vitruvius knows, its kind of like dumbledore and snape, but! during the scene where the masterbuilders get caught, right after Vitruvius gets killed, bc pulls out a gun and starts to fight business, running over to the computer and releasing the masterbuilders before getting caught by business and thrown into the infinite abyss of nothingness. Eventually after a huge battle, and business is defeated, gcbc come back, (because finn and his dad redrew gc's face on) and has to deal with all the questions and reintegration into society.

i haven't written anything about it yet or decided on a name, but its the main au i think about :)

Encanto/The Lego Movie Crossover!

While Mirabel wonders across the village she stumbles across a toy store, selling odd colorful bricks. She buys a few of the sets and due to the magic of Encanto they come to life and become some of her friends.

Holy crap, I love this!

One day, an 8 year old Mira was walking in town unsupervised, when she saw the toy store.

She looked through the window, and instantly noticed a bunch of small colorful bricks. They look so pretty!

So, having a bit of money with her, she bought a small set, and headed back to Casita.

She unboxed the set in the nursery, and started building the small building. There was also a small figure, a construction worker.

Mira was just done building the small Lego building when Casita notified her of dinner. The girl rushed downstairs, but unknown to her, Casita had a plan.

The house’s favorite Madrigal was always left out, ignored, shoved aside and mistreated by the townspeople and the family, so why not give her a little friend?

So, Casita made the little construction worker, Emmet, come to life!

After dinner, Mira came back, and saw the little Lego figure move and…talk!

“You can talk!” The girl said happily.

“I can?” Emmet replied, a bit confused. “I can! Woohoo!”

The two quickly became friends, and Mira finally felt like she wasn’t alone😊

"What jobs do you guys have?"

Emmet is quick to answer, energetic as always. Android and Lucille let him answer first.

"I still have my job as an construction worker! The city is still getting bigger and bigger, and my team and I go to other planets to help too! I'm also a TV host for The Emmet Awards and my own show where I interview celebrities or people from other worlds! Android helps me on that!" He's enthusiastic, pointing at his beloved who looked very proud of his own person. "I'm also a galaxy defensor, and I've been thinking on opening a bakery and a flower shop at one point! And I have a side job as an inventor. Pretty neat, right?"

Rex and Lucy give him approving nods.

He now looks to both of his lovers with excitement. Lucy rolls her eyes, funnily, wanting to be brief.

"I'm a popstar again because of these two. Adding to that, a galaxy defensor, an inventor too, and a teacher."

Both the systarian and the human look at the android. A toothy grin could be seen on their face, and Emmet was more than ecstatic. However, Lucy wanted him to do it already.

"Come on, do the thing."

"I don't know what you're talking about, Lucy." He says, teasingly.

"The card presentation thing! Come on!" Emmet begs.

"Stop that. That's such a cheap 2019 movement coming from me. I am a creative robot."

There's a silence for some seconds.

Some presentation cards appear out of nowhere.

"GALAXY DEFENSOR, ARCHEOLOGIST, THERAPIST, SCRIPT DOCTOR BUT I ACTUALLY SAVED THE SCRIPT, INFLUENCER, TV HOST, RAPTOR TRAINER, FIRST BASEMAN, DETECTIVE AND A LEGAL DOCTOR! WHO ALSO LIKES BUSTING HEADS, MAKING FURNITURE, BAKING AND CRY BECAUSE I LOVE MY FRIENDS TOO MUCH!"

Emmet claps his hands with admiration, meanwhile Lucy does the same, encouraging him.

"What can you expect from a Rex? And most importantly, from Android Rex Machete Ninja Star Brickowski?!"
