Disclaimer: I do not own Lego Movie/Lego Movie: The Second Part. However, this is my own personal fanfic that I am merely using these wonderful characters for. This is mainly for my own enjoyment but I am sharing it so that others may enjoy it as well.
Any possible future OCs used for world building are my own and you must ask permission before using.
This is, indeed, an AU. While I do like to stick to as much canon as possible, I may change some things for the sake of the story; don't hesitate to talk to me if there is any confusion.
Otherwise enjoy!
ALTERED TIMELINE; UNDAR
“It’s over Rex. Emmett’s never going to be you”
The words stabbed into the rough explorer like knives, as he slowly sat up to view his past self and his former love. They looked on at him with compassion.
Ugh.
There shouldn’t be such a thing as compassion for a monster like him. He knew what he’d become; a slave to hate and revenge.
“But you could be like him.” Lucy took a step forward. No matter how tough Wyldstyle liked to believe herself to be, she was still so mushy. Perhaps that's why she was so attracted to his past self. “You don’t have to be the bad guy.”
Yes he did. If he wasn’t the bad guy, then who was he? Just some nobody. He no longer deserved the right to be “The Special”.
“You could join us.” Emmett reaches out, speaking his own agreement with the ex-rebel.
“ I— I can’t…” Rex stood up fully, he could already feel the tingling down his body and into his limbs. The Flux Capacitor had been the only way to keep himself stable within this time period and in control in the event of this very possibility… him failing. It was the reason he’d kept it on his person. Why had he been so stupid as to show them it?! Stinking arrogant prick, he’d become!
Now… he didn’t even know what was going to happen to him, only the assumption that he’d probably stop existing.
“What do you mean?” Emmett frowned, thin eyebrows furrowed into worry.
“She came back for ya’. You're never going to turn out like me, which means—” he grunted, the tingles were turning sharper. It felt similar to when one cut off blood circulation. Not fun. “—I’m never going to exist.”
“Wait, wait, no!” Emmett took a couple steps forward but was halted any further by Lucy.
Rex gave out a strangled laugh as his right arm began disappearing. So, his theory was correct. He was going to truly, well, die. Man, were kid’s imaginations hardcore or what?
“”Look, I told— I knew it! Look, I'm back-to-the-futuring. Totally called it.”
“What’s “back-to-the-futuring”?”
“It’s a classic movie older kids get to watch. And now... it’s happening to me.”
Stupid Finn. What the heck? Killing his best-made-character-yet off? Not cool.
“C’mon, take my hand while you still have a hand to take!” His younger self sounded a little desperate, pulling against the restraining hands of his awesome "Very Special Best Friend". How freaking typical of Lucy to take advantage of his feelings and lead him on. Couldn't even properly call Emmett her boyfriend, like she did for Bats. How gullible he was back then to not realize it. He couldn't put more thought into, else he'd just be drawn back into the nigh inconsolable anger that had taken over his life.
“...That ain't how it works, kid.” He’d just wind up taking both his selves with him and that wouldn't be good.
“Rex!”
“It’s okay, I'm proud of ya’. You’ll grow up to be better than me.” And he truly believed that. This Emmett will turn out far greater.
Good for him.
Rex oddly felt calm despite this being his last moments. At least, he was feeling calm until the construction worker made what he would later call a really dumb move.
Emmett, in a rare show of stubbornness, ripped out of Lucy’s hold and sprinted at his Vest Friend. The Special wasn't planning on losing anybody today. Not even his rough, bad guy of an older self.
The other two froze in shock and unfortunately regained clarity too late.
Rex, by this time, had already lost both his legs and found that he really couldn't move. Like he was a stuck point in the space of reality.
Darn it Finn, Bianca… what the heck are you two up to?! Rex let out a low growl.
Lucy gave chase but Emmett had already dived for Rex with his best war cry, tackling the adventurer. The construction worker and what was left of his Vest Friend hit the floor. Hard.
It effectively knocked Rex out cold, as the back of his head had taken most of the impact, but neither Lucy or Emmett noticed in the fight to pry the Special off the now more quickly disappearing raptor trainer.. It was as if whatever force taking away Rex was aware that Emmett had latched on, and before Lucy could fully comprehend they were both just… gone.
The master builder collapsed onto her knees, staring at her now empty, shaking hands. She stayed in her horrified trance, even when those that she considered her family eventually found and surrounded her.
Questions like “Where’s Emmett?", “Wyldstyle, are you alright?”, and “Did we win?” Surrounded her. They shook her shoulders and tried to snap her back into reality but none of that worked either. She was too focused on the fact that they were gone. She’d failed.
She’d failed.
Those words made something snap and the last thing she remembered before passing out in silent tears were arms raising her up and moving her away. Soft murmurs of comfort and confusion blanketing her as she latched on to whoever held her.
———————————
ORIGINAL TIMELINE; UNDAR
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...aaaaaaa...aaaa...aaah…?”
Emmett’s throat felt hoarse as he held onto his Vest Friend with a death grip. Slowly, he opened one eye after another as he sucked in deep breaths. His heart was beating so fast.
Why had he thought latching onto someone who was disappearing was a good idea?!
When he finally focused on his surroundings, he found that… they really weren’t so gone after all. Huh.  Although they weren’t in the same place. Instead of being under an oversized dryer or within a rather colorful cavern, they were out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but an overhang rock nearby.
Other than that, Undar looked exactly the same, except—
“Lucy…?” He winced, his voice cracked from his totally-not-girly screaming earlier. The ex-rebel didn’t answer. She wasn’t there. Maybe they really were dead?
“No, no, no. This can’t be right. This can’t—” Emmett stood up and nearly tripped over Rex’s reattached legs. “Ow, what?!”
His eyes widened, just having noticed his Vest Friend being fully, well, together. He also noticed that Rex wasn’t conscious.
“Oh no, Rex! Buddy, are you okay?!” The construction worker crawled up and shook his older self lightly. Shoving just a little bit stronger, when he was given no response. “Oh boy…”
What was he gonna do? No Lucy, no Rex, no… anybody.
Alone.
Wasn’t this what he was trying to avoid?
Emmett leaned away from the explorer and sighed, running a hand down his face tiredly. This had already been a long day. Had it only been a day? Maybe like a couple, or perhaps even a week. Overall, it had been long and weary.
A double decker couch would be really good about now, too. It would be comfy to lay on, at least. Too bad the last one he’d made was on the Rexcelsior…
The construction worker blinked, then jolted in realization. The Rexcelsior! He could get some raptor’s to pick them up. Surely Rex had some type of communication device to keep them in touch?
The Special reached for the many, various pockets that made up his older counterpart’s vest. Most seemed to include items that Emmett was sure were some type of dangerous. From knives to grenades, Rex had them, and all with his favored color scheme.
His nose crinkled. Geez, what did he need those for?! Had he been carrying them the whole time? The man’s Master Breaker punch was honestly explosive enough, as was his temper.
Finally, Emmett latched onto what looked like a walkie-talkie. It seemed a little outdated, considering all his other tech, but right now Emmett couldn’t care less.
He wasn’t nearly as alone as he’d thought!
With a crackle, he managed to bring the communicator to life.
“H-hello? Cobra? Ripley? Uh, o-other raptor’s —oh gosh, I’m sorry about forgetting all your names but I’m kinda freaking out right now! Is anybody reading me?” Static was all that could be heard. His grip on the device tightened. “Hello, Emmett here! I-I really need some help about now —Rex’s hurt! I think it’s his head. Kinda, ha, kinda scared to check it… don’t want to mess up and jostle… anything…”
The Special slowly let his hands, walkie-talkie and all, rest in his lap as he frowned in the distance. Static filled his ears but it went unnoticed as all his recent failures filled his mind. It seemed lately, all he could do was get in the way of everyone else —including his own self!
Ever since they managed to end Lord Business’ reign of “perfection'' he'd… just gone back to being ignored and set aside like he wasn’t good enough. Even his friends had started to not believe that he was capable of truly taking care of himself in Apocalypseburg. They would go so far as to take turns in chaperoning him around. Which he honestly hadn’t minded then, considering it meant hanging out with his friends!
It wasn’t until he met Rex that he’d begun to see just how much the people he’d begun to view as his family seemed to baby him. Seemed to believe he wasn’t “tough” or “strong” enough to do what they did in protecting their home.
He’d felt… so useless when that came to his attention. Which was probably what Rex was going for. Keep Emmett interested in staying with the raptor trainer, where he was “more wanted”, than in staying with “those who would just hold him back and keep him weak”.
Funny how both parties seemed to want the same thing and proclaiming how “it was best for him”, just with different methods. It seemed they had forgotten that he’d been alone and taken care of himself far longer than he’d known any of the others.
Except for Rex. Rex was him. Technically they’d known each other all their lives, right?
The communication device sprung to life, startling the Special into nearly dropping it. Static-filled growls and snarls came out from the speakers, sounding viscous as ever.
“[Emmett we read you! This is Jack, current Acting-Captain of the Rexcelsior. Did you say the boss is injured? Have you at least checked his vitals?]”
“Uh, so… funny thing…”
“[Yes…?]”
“I really don’t know what you’re saying.”
“[That’s wonderful. Look, just sit tight and we’ll get a lock on your location. Hopefully it won’t take us too long to reach you. Captain Jack out.]”
The walkie-talkie crackled then fell silent, leaving Emmett to listen only to the slight wind of the desolate planet.
He debated picking it back up and speaking again but figured that he’d gotten his point across; while he didn’t understand raptor, he sure knew that they understood english. Rex was constantly having conversations with his scale-y crew.
Man, though, a raptor space crew was so cool. Emmett still was a little star-struck on that, despite the whole recent adventure he’d had.
After a few moments, the man sighed. With nothing left to do but wait and watch over his older self, Emmett began to whistle.
He tried his best not to think of how he was beginning to feel heavier.
———————————
ORIGINAL TIMELINE; SYSAPOCALYPSTAR SPACE PORT
Within the walls of the newly made space docking port, a 1980s-something-space-guy was literally floating off the walls in glee. Everything was so fresh and new! And with plenty of spaceships too. Though there still didn’t seem to be enough for the man and there, probably, could never be.
He just couldn’t help it, he LOVED space vessels with an undying passion!
Which is why the couple of friends that he came with found the excitable astronaut cleaning and shining every vehicle in sight. The pink cat with a unicorn horn and the cyborg space pirate, an odd sight against the uniform lines and colors of the station’s decor, were chuckling at their blue-suited pal. It was always so nice to see him so happy; even if he was almost always happy.
He was just normally down and, well, blue at this time of the year. Normally they all were. It was the week that finally brought peace from the five year invasion through the uniting of Apocalypsburg and the Systar System.
It was also the week Emmett died.
The thought caused a frown to come upon the sea captain’s face, though he didn’t allow Unikitty or Benny to take notice. Instead, he turned away and toward the monitors that messages and updates came in for the Space Port’s staff. He vaguely recalled being told what it was called but couldn’t find it in him at the moment to think about it.
Instead his mind brought up this current week where everyone else would celebrate the union of two people and the peace that followed it. The week that the group of Masterbuilder friends spent, instead, in mourning for their Special.
At least, that is what they had done the last four years.
Now, they figured it was time to move on. Emmett wouldn’t have wanted them to be mopey. So, they weren’t going to be any longer. This year they were going to join in on the week-long celebrations. celebrating for their people and their Special Masterbuilder, who had never once failed to bring joy to their lives when he was alive.
A small red light came to life near one of the keyboards. It blinked in alert at the pirate.
“Ey, Benny… is yonder light ‘posed ta do that?”
“Huh?!” The astronaut broke his focus on the spaceships! and turned to his friend. “Light? What ligh— OH, that light! The station must have intercepted a message.”
Unikitty and Metalbeard shared a look. What did a space port need to “intercept messages”?
“Why is your communications station intercepting other people’s space conversations?” The cat tilted her head, a confused smile on her face.
“Yes, matey. What be any need, a’ our’s anymore, of interceptin’ messages? We ain’t fugitives no more.”
Benny had enough sense to feel embarrassed. They were right, of course. It wasn’t necessary but… Old habits were hard to get rid of.
“It’s only for safety purposes.” He defended, scratching the back of his neck as he slowly floated back to the ground. “And it only catches messages with keywords that I had input into the system.”
He walked over to the monitors and began typing away.
“Like what? Parties and rainbows?!” The cat had stars in her eyes as she skipped over to Benny. The pirate slowly came up right after, still a bit apprehensive.
“No…,” Benny, having sat down in one of the chairs, swiveled around to face his friends as they came up to him. He was waiting for the triggered words and message to load, “it’s more like things like “bombs”, “injuries”, and—”
“Emmett?”
“What?” Both the men blinked as the pink princess gazed in shock at the screen.
Benny turned back around at the monitor and Metalbeard leaned over.
KEYWORDS FOUND:
EMMETT
FREAKING OUT
HURT
The keywords struck fear into the three and Benny, noticing that the communication was still live, quickly butted in. They were greeted to frightening snarls of a beast they didn’t quite recognize.
“[...current Acting-Captain of the Rexcelsior. Did you say the boss is injured? Have you at least checked his vitals?]”
“Uh, so… funny thing…”
“[Yes…?]”
“I really don’t know what you’re saying.”
There was a lull in the conversation as whatever was growling seemed to stop in shock or realization.
The three Masterbuilders were beginning to figure that whoever was making the animalistic noises were probably some type of alien species that they hadn’t yet met. Else their… words would have been translated by the communications station.
That didn’t seem to matter too much to them at the moment, though. Emmett was alive! That was his voice speaking clearly within the live transmission.
“[That’s wonderful. Look, just sit tight and we’ll get a lock on your location. Hopefully it won’t take us too long to reach you. Captain Jack out.]”
And he was in trouble.
Their response was immediate in sending out word of what they had discovered to the rest of their friends and making preparations for takeoff.
——————————————
ALTERED TIMELINE; THE REXCELSIOR
The bridge was in controlled chaos as the crew of extinct reptiles ran to and fro in tandem to get ready for take off.
Acting-Captain Jack watched them from overhead, awaiting the navigation team behind him in locking coordinates. They were, unfortunately, having a hard time finding Rex’s signature.
The raptor swiveled and tilted his head in the direction of Snake Eyes, head of the Navigation team. It seemed the silent reptile was staring down one of his underlings, who was spewing out excuses left and right.
“[W-we can’t get a reading on the boss! It’s as if he doesn’t exist.]”
Only a sputtering rumble could be heard from Snake Eyes. Scars on his neck were accentuated by the flashing red lights and klaxon blare that Rex had insisted on during times of emergency. Something about needed drama?
The raptors really didn’t care, save for the fact it made their Alpha happy.
The disfigured predator snapped at his subordinate a couple times before tapping one of his long hunting claws in morse code, like the boss had taught him.
[Are you telling me that you believe Emmett a liar?]
“[No, no! I didn’t— I didn’t mean that! I’m merely saying—]”
[When you call Emmett a liar, you are calling our Alpha one too!]
“[I’m not—]”
[EXCUSES!] The scarred Navigations Officer snapped again, this time much closer to the poor raptor’s neck. Too close.
Captain Jack turned fully and decided it was time to intervene. He whacked the Navigation Lead with his tail
It stung but it got the normally level-headed reptile’s attention.
“[Enough, Snake! I understand that everyone’s on edge but there is no reason to treat a brother in such a manner.]”
[Yes, Captain. I was out of line, forgive me.] The scarred raptor bowed lowly, tail flicking in shame. Without prompting, he turned to his subordinate. [I apologize, brother. Can you find it in you to excuse my poor behavior?].
The raptor relaxed, relieved that the tension wasn’t near as thick as before.
“[You’re forgiven. We’re all not at our best, considering the situation. We should be trying harder…]”
[No, I know for a fact you are trying your hardest —I trained you. We are just not searching in the right direction.]
“[I agree.]” Jack nodded. “[May I make a suggestion?]”
[Please.]
“[Try our timeline.]”
“[...What?]” The lower ranked raptor blinked. That couldn’t be right! What other timeline? They went to the past, didn’t they? He should know, he helped bring them there.
He looked between his higher rank in worry when they shared a look.
[You think that…?]
“[No, I know. This is Rex we’re talking about, of course he broke it.]”
If Snake could chuckle properly, he would have. Instead he settled for giving Jack a sharp, toothy grin.
Masterbreakers were too much.
[Obviously, he broke the Flux Capacitor. It does make sense that, since we knew we were going to be altering the past, we’d make a completely new reality.]
“[Exactly.]”
The head of navigation turned to his team.
[Set course for our Alpha’s original time and place. Make certain that it is the original timeline!]
A chorus of roars were his acknowledgement that they would get right on task.

ORIGINAL TIMELINE, A COUPLE HOURS LATER; UNDAR
He couldn’t exactly remember just when it became hard to breath and it felt like gravity was crushing him. His throat was dry and his eyelids were heavy.
He had luckily managed to drag Rex and himself near that rock overhang, allowing them just that little bit of shelter but… he wasn’t certain how much good that would do for them.
It was okay… everything was okay… the raptors were just minutes away.
Yeah.
Emmett smacked his lips together, trying his best to swallow, as he slowly succeeded against the violent weather and swiveled his head to look at Rex. His gaze was unfocused, roaming over the explorer’s rough features. His rough, older features.
The construction worker’s eyes closed shut.
He was getting so tired…
But he needed to stay awake. He— he needed to… needed to take care of his Vest Friend. The Special’s hand found his older self’s arm and squeezed with what little strength he had left. He lost the battle with unconsciousness a mere few moments before a spaceship landed not too far from them.

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Kai lurched forward with a sharp gasp. Eyes wide and hands clutching the sheets. His gaze zipped around the room frantically, and when he recognized it as his bedroom he slowly started to calm down.
It was only a nightmare.
He caught the sight of light flickering out of the corners of his eyes and he cursed when he realized he had accidentally lit his sheet on fire. "Ah fuck-" He smacked at the flames until they went out. Huffing before leaning against the bed frame.
Sweat clung to his shirtless torso, glistening in the pale light of the moon peeking through his window.
Kai ran a hand through his hair in clear agitation. Trying his best to still his racing heart.
He knew it was just a dream. His mind playing sick jokes on him. But he couldn't help but worry. Her scream's lingered in the back of his mind, and he knew he couldn't just sit here. He had to see her. He had to know she was going to be okay.
⎯
The window squeaked as he slid it open and Kai visibly winced at the sound. He slipped through the opening, feet landing soundlessly on the floor. He did his best to close the window more quietly but it still squawked irritably at him. Kai swore under his breath, clicking his tongue in annoyance. He shook his head to himself before turning around.
His gaze immediately softened at the sight of her. A soft lump in the middle of her mattress. Most of the blanket tangled around her legs. And her pillows strewn about on the floor.
Kai couldn't help but smile. He padded softly towards Y/n, grabbing the pillows and placing them back on the bed before slowly and carefully untangling the blanket. He draped it over her before removing his mask and gi, tossing it off to the side and changing into the spare clothes he left here. Which consisted of sweat pants.
Kai slipped into the bed, snaking his arms around Y/n's waist and pulling her back flush against his bare chest. He held back a tired groan as he let his body sink into her plush mattress. Placing a few tender kisses to her shoulder.
Y/n stirred and he winced at the sight of her pretty e/c eyes squinting up at him. "Kai?" she was groggy and still half asleep, but she didn't hesitate to turn around so she was facing him.
"Hey princess, sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." He whispered, tucking a few strands of stray hair behind her ear.
Y/n hummed, "S'okay. I don't mind." She leaned up and pressed her face into the crook of his neck. Kai let out a shaky breath and pulled her closer towards him. Resting his chin atop her head. "You smell good." He laughed softly at her muffled comment, humming in appreciation.
"So do you.." he rubbed slow circles into her back and the two drifted off into silence for a few moments. Kai assumed Y/n had fallen back asleep, but he himself was wide awake. Allowing his thoughts to consume him.
He could still see the blood pooling around his feet.
"Your heart is beating really fast." He almost jumped at the sound of her voice, surprised she was still conscious.
"It is?"
She hummed.
Y/n pulled back so she could look up at him, squinting in the darkness of her bedroom. "What's up?" Kai was silent for a moment, and she searched his gaze quietly. Awaiting his reply. Her eyes softened when realization struck her. "Are you having nightmares again?"
Kai's lips pulled down in a frown for the briefest of moments. He reached up to run a hand through his hair nervously. "Yeah.. But uh, don't worry about it. It's nothing."
Y/n shook her head, "It's not nothing, Kai.. It's okay to be scared." she leaned up and planted a kiss to his lips. She slipped her arm around his neck, fingers playing with the hairs on his nape. Kai's eyes slid close for a moment in content.
"I know," he mumbled, peeking his eyes back open to catch the worry in her eyes.
"Do you?" She wet her lips with her tongue out of habit and his gaze followed the motion.
It felt like cotton had been shoved down his throat, and so he nodded to answer her question. Y/n didn't look convinced.
"You're welcome any time, Kai. No matter how late or early it is. And if you want to talk about it, we can. But if you'd rather we don't, that's okay too." She shrugged, running her fingers through his hair, nails gently dragging along his scalp.
Y/n knew just how to make him feel better. His heart squeezed at her words and he leaned down to press a tender kiss to her forehead.
"I just want to be here with you." He breathed, and she smiled. Sliding her hand up and cupping the side of his face. Her thumb slid along his cheekbone softly, and Kai couldn't help but lean into her touch. Letting out a heavy and content breath through his nose. Ruffling a few of her baby hairs tickling his skin.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." She mumbled, leaning forward and pressing a tender and loving smooch to his chin.
Kai's heart swelled at the action and he planted his lips to the top of her head before pulling her even closer to him. They stayed like that for a long time, simply holding onto each other and listening to the sound of each other's breathing.
Kai felt complete and utter bliss. Laying there with her head on his chest. Hearts beating in perfect sync.
And he finally fell asleep, knowing Y/n was safe in his arms.

Fanart of @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off’s Wobbly Hearts AU
I honestly don’t know how well you’ll be able to read my writing since it’s atrocious but hopefully you enjoy the art :D
I almost wrote a keyboard emoji heart but it looked strange on paper lol
The last three doodles are just me reacting to your fic. It’s so good ‼️‼️‼️
I tried to draw all the characters as close as I could get to the refs but I’m not super good at hyper realistic bodies so it just ended up being silly doodles 😅
Anyway I love your fic sm and I hope you like the fanart ❤️💕❤️💕

Hello hello!
I've been a fan of your writing for awhile and I just truly addoorrrreeeee how you write so amazingly!! (。・ω・。)ノ♡
But anyways, I was wondering if I could get some LEGO: Ninjago, the movie Lloyd HCs? I would love it if you can do both romantic and platonic!
But if you are rather busy please don't mind this oddly ducklings request! (;ŏ﹏ŏ) ⸺ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴇᴀʀᴇꜱᴛ, ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀɪᴏᴜꜱ 🍰✨
Movie! Lloyd Garmadon (Platonic & Romantic Headcanons)
WARNING: yandere, stalking, mild violence, social rejection, mentions of bullying, toxic mindset.
A.N. - Thank you! Let me know if you want more Ninjago characters.
Tumblr media
PLATONIC:
Step outside, breathe in the humid air of Ninjago City and get bombarded with dozens of cameras and microphones. Lloyd is overcome by guilt every time the press harasses someone who is involved with him, but the person who he thinks the most of has a one-way ticket to unwanted publicity.
The media circus begins when Lloyd approaches his friend in public. One snap of a picture later, and almost everyone at the high school is telling Lloyd that his friend wants nothing to do with him. Lloyd sometimes wonders if this is true, so he reaches out quite often in the hope of proving that he is worth keeping around.
Koko worries about the frequent phone calls that last anywhere from seconds to hours and the constant questions about whether it is okay to have his friend come over to her flat.
She warns Lloyd that he is getting too invested in someone he only met a few weeks ago, to which Lloyd swears that he has found the one who understands him and does not judge him for his lineage.
Lloyd is not the type that goes looking for a fight, but his temper does flare towards whoever upsets his friend. He comes home while dragging his feet and lies to Koko about the cause of his moodiness.
When he thinks back to the many jokes hurled like stones at his friend by the student body and media, Lloyd assigns the blame to himself. The jokes often revolve around living life as a Garmadon supporter whom everyone should shun.
Even though he does not enjoy the isolation it creates, Lloyd takes the opportunity to introduce his friend to the other Ninja and thereby provide more reasons to stay in contact with him.
Koko is called by whoever may live with Lloyd's friend, people who bellyache about Lloyd knocking on their door several days in a row with the intent to visit. Koko once again quizzes Lloyd about the nature of the relationship, but at the same time, Koko will reprimand anybody who phones her with a complaint against Lloyd.
Once upon a fight, Lord Garmadon notices that the Green Ninja is muttering something about a classmate laughing at his friend while he clobbers General Number One.
Garmadon may let slip a rare comment about how he finds Lloyd's aggressiveness a bit unusual, but overall, he becomes a terrible source of advice. His idea of fatherly affection is to have Lloyd use his volcano should Lloyd ever feel the need to shoot someone out of it.
If an argument takes a wrecking ball to the relationship, Lloyd dons his Green Ninja attire and attempts to live vicariously through whatever bond his secret identity can form.
Eventually, he gets tired of only talking to his friend when the city is under attack and decides to deliver an impassioned speech about how true friends forgive each other and stick together. It is his desperate attempt at rekindling a connection he has become dependent on, so if it fails, Lloyd appears as his regular self and begs forgiveness.
ROMANTIC:
He will deny it, but Lloyd has asked Zane to calculate his chances of securing a relationship with his prospective partner. If the probability is low, Lloyd despairs and, at least for a while, resigns himself to short greetings and brief farewells.
As time goes by, Lloyd's patience wears thin. He starts asking questions, such as whether his chances might improve if there are fewer people around to listen.
In the early interactions, Lloyd is insecure about himself and relies on Kai to be his wingman and Zane to inform him which compliments and gifts have the highest success rates.
He stumbles his way through most conversations and expects to be humiliated. When he is not, Lloyd gets attached and hurries to make these interactions a routine part of his day.
As he grows more comfortable with the relationship, Lloyd acquires a protective attitude. The Green Ninja in him urges him to correct others when they speak badly of his partner.
This frustration doubles if those responsible have bullied him before, although the worst his civilian self will do is brood and complain about it to his fellow Ninjas.
The rest of the Secret Ninja Force is supportive until one of the Ninjas catches Lloyd following his partner home in his Green Ninja gear. Lloyd explains that he is making sure the trip is safe, and challenging him leads him to defend himself by claiming that his partner is too kind to mind his questionable actions.
If this is untrue, Lloyd becomes much more cautious in his approach but does not give up. He resorts to finding his partner when alone and conversing via awkward small talk, which snowballs into him admitting that he needs to talk more consistently to be okay.
Lloyd is not one to bear his heart unless tensions are high, so he is prone to telling white lies when the truth spells conflict. He is terrified of making his partner fed up with him and losing what he sees as one of the few good things in his life.
It is a fear he will do almost anything to avoid facing, including coercing those who would leak his secret identity before he is ready to tell his partner.
Lloyd is not quick to stand up for himself, so if his partner ever did it for him, he would hope that the action has a special meaning behind it. The knowledge that it is politeness and nothing else would crush him.
As the Green Ninja, Lloyd sometimes goes off on his own and refuses to admit that he spent this time watching over his partner's home. He views it as an act of service and is not inclined to think otherwise unless he is spotted, at which point Lloyd will be too embarrassed to return for a while.

I am very disappointed in you Lego Ninjago Fandom.
Where is my 50k+ angst with happy ending, found family, lego ninjago movie fanfiction on how the team got togheter and included Lloyd as their leader, seeing past his parentage and getting to know him with a lot of focus on Lloyd himself as the depressed lonely teenager that he is, huh?
WHERE IS IT NINJAGO FANDOM?!

Whumptober 2023 Day 5 - Pinned Down
Day 5! And this one is MOVIEVERSE! I REPEAT: MOVIEVERSE! I wanted a bit of a challenge so a few of these are going to be set within the movie! Also movie!Jay is an absolute bean but he swears like a sailor and I will die on this hill.
@splinnters fifth tag! You better be asleep by now good sir
Words: 2.2k
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Garmadon wasn’t supposed to strike during the middle of the school day, his plane wasn’t supposed to get shot down out of the sky, and he was not supposed to crash it directly into a building that was already crumbling from the attack. Jay had tried to hit the eject button only for it to fail, so he had no other choice than to sit tight and hope that the impact didn’t kill him.
It didn’t, but Jay could still feel the whiplash that hit his neck as his head slammed against the console, his helmet the only thing saving him from certain doom. He had been knocked out almost instantly, and when he finally came around there were voices screaming at him over the still-functioning radio and blood trickling down from his forehead.
“Jay!” Cole yelled, and Jay could hear the sounds of missiles detonating over the comms. “What the hell happened?!”
He must’ve been talking for some time, so Jay fumbled to press the button and activate his mic. “Cole? I’m here.”
‘Oh thank the First Master,” Lloyd sighed, and Jay winced from his volume. His mask must’ve gotten shoved up closer to his mouth. “Did anyone see where he went down?”
“He is near the corner of Main and Fourth,” Zane chimed in, and Jay’s heart started sinking. Nobody was patrolling in that direction, which meant that there was no one nearby and they were all still fighting a battle. He was on his own.
Which immediately posed a problem when he tried to move his leg.
A short scream escaped his lips when he tried to pull his leg out, and Jay felt the tears sting at the corners of his eyes. Glancing down, the sight of mangled metal buried in his leg almost made him sick. White-hot pain shot up his thigh from his calf, and Jay bit down on his hand to keep from screaming again as his head hit the back of his seat.
He was trapped.
The others must’ve heard him, because Nya was hurriedly clicking onto the channel. “What the hell was that?”
“I’m stuck,” Jay said, “m-my leg’s pinned. I can’t get it out.”
“How stuck?” Kai asked, and Jay heard the screeching of metal on metal through the comms before Kai’s flamethrower ignited, the whoosh familiar as well as the yells of whoever Kai was fighting against.
Jay really did not want to look at it again, but he did have to assess the injury. His leg was burning with pain, his nerves alight with the sensation as he leaned down to try and get a better look at what had happened. Of course, it looked like one of the pylons had gone straight through his leg; not enough to take it off, but definitely enough to pin him in place and start to cause problems.
Why was he so calm about almost having his leg forcibly amputated?
“It’s gone through my leg,” Jay said lightly, his voice betrayed absolutely none of his inner turmoil, “so I can’t move. I also can’t remove it because I don’t know what’ll happen or if it’s structurally sound.”
Silence rang over the comms, and Jay waited patiently for his team to respond. It wasn’t like he was going anywhere. “Buddy, are you okay?” Cole asked hesitantly.
“Oh yes, Cole, I’m just peachy! I’m stuck in this stupid fucking cockpit and there’s a metal rod stuck in my leg and I dunno how to fix it and there’s enemies everywhere and you guys are across the city and I’m going to flip my shit because what if I lose my fucking leg?!” and there it was. Everything was falling apart around him, literally and metaphorically, and Jay’s vision started to tunnel as he struggled to take a deep breath. He wanted to pull his knees up into his chest and bury his face in them, but any movement of his leg only brought more tears to his eyes.
“Breathe,” Nya tried to say, but Jay only took a harsh inhale through his nose in panic-fuelled rage.
“My jet is fucked! My leg is fucked! I’M fucked!” Jay yelled. “So what do you mean ‘breathe’?!”
“It’s not going to get better if you keep panicking, so I need you to calm down,” Nya said soothingly; the others stayed quiet, trusting her to take control of the situation. “I’m on my way, okay? Just hang tight, we’ll get you out of there.”
He couldn’t calm down. The rod shifted, making him see stars as his head knocked against the side of the cockpit. All it took was one sob to open the floodgates, and suddenly he couldn’t stop. “I’m scared, Nya, I’m scared and it hurts and I don’t know what to do-”
“I know,” Nya said, “I know, that’s why I need you to breathe for me, Jay. In for three, hold for four, out for seven, can you do that for me?”
“Yeah,” and Jay tried, he really did, but the sight of Garmadon’s forces flying high over his head, twisting and turning through the air as they made a beeline for where the others were already fighting, drowned out any common sense that may have stuck around at the beginning of his panic attack.
If they saw him, he was as good as dead.
And they were getting pretty damn close.
“Fuck!” Jay cursed, pushing hard at his shattered windshield. “Come on, come on!”
“What happened?” Lloyd asked, alarmed. Jay kept banging at the windshield, ignoring the shards of glass cutting through his gloves and the pain radiating from his wrists.
“Garmadon’s army is coming!” he said, and he could hear the sharp intake of breath from the rest of the group. “I’m pinned down, and I can’t get out!”
“Cole, Nya, get to him now,” Lloyd ordered, and Jay felt his heart lift when he saw the green ninja’s mech shoot across the sky, already tearing through the hordes of planes flying through the city. “Kai and Zane, we’re running defense. Don’t let them get close until Jay is clear.”
“On it, boss,” Kai said, and Zane confirmed as well. Cole grunted, and Nya was silent, but Jay knew that she was just thinking of a way to get him out of here. Probably. Hopefully.
There had to be something he could do. His brain was racing a mile a minute as he looked around the cockpit for anything that he could use to pry open the canopy, or even something to help him start to free his leg. Adrenaline poured through his veins, dulling any pain radiating from the wound and making him shake with repressed stims. Finally he tore off a control panel on the side, steadying his hands long enough to start fiddling with the wires. Maybe he could get his jet’s cloaking ability to start working; that would buy him some time until Nya got there.
It only took a minute for the wires to start sparking, small arcs racing up his fingers and Jay quickly dropped said wires, but the damage was already done. The tips of his fingers were slightly singed, as Cole would so gracefully put it, and Jay quickly put them into his mouth one by one to soothe the burns. Hopefully someone was still on the line, he thought as he pressed the button to open the comm channel, his finger throbbing in protest.
“Uh, team?” Jay said, flinching when one of the planes flew a little too close for his liking, “I can’t activate the cloaking thing and I think I burnt my fingers.”
“Seriously?” Cole said angrily, and Jay’s heart dropped at his tone. “Don’t worry, Jay, Nya and I are almost there?”
“Can you turn your ‘almost here’ into actually being here, please?”
“Working on it, Blue,” Nya grunted, and Jay could hear the sounds of crabs hitting her windshield with dull thunks. “Hang in there, you’re doing great. How’s that injury looking?”
“Let me check,” Jay leaned down to look again and nearly lost his lunch for the fourth time since he had gotten stuck in this predicament. Nothing had changed, but it suddenly looked a lot more red than it did before. His boot squelched on the floorplates, and something was soaking into it and through his socks. Dizzy, Jay realized that he was sole-deep in a puddle of crimson red, of his own blood.
That…wasn’t very comforting. “There’s a lot of blood.”
“How much blood?” Nya asked.
Jay swallowed thickly, pressing the back of his head to his seat and shutting his eyes. “T-There’s a puddle, and it’s soaking into my shoes.”
An explosion, and Nya’s voice came over the speakers again. “These guys are not making it easy. Is there any way that you can staunch it? Or pull the thing out?”
It warmed his heart that in literally any other situation Nya would be flipping her shit, but she was keeping her cool; Jay liked to think that it was because of him rather than anything else. “I can’t move it. The pylon is attached to the main engine and I’m not nearly strong enough. Plus, this thing is already falling apart; I don’t know what’ll happen if I move too much.”
Case in point, the loud whine of falling metal as a section collapsed behind him, making Jay jump in surprise and stare with wide eyes. “You guys might wanna hurry, I don’t know how much longer this is going to stay up!”
“Going as fast as we can,” Cole assured, and Jay could tell that his best friend was starting to grow frustrated with the situation. He slumped in his chair, trying in vain to keep his anxiety at bay as the planes flew closer and closer. Rationally, he knew that Cole wasn’t mad at him, per se, but it sure as hell felt like it. Honestly, It was a miracle that he hadn’t been spotted yet.
He should’ve never thought about it.
Screaming through the air as they descended, Jay watched as the planes focused on his location with a plummeting heart. Their crab cannons swiveled to face him, and Jay was suddenly very aware of just how cracked his canopy was and the fragility of the cockpit protecting him. It wouldn’t last for very long at all.
“Lloyd!” he yelled, throwing his arms up and over his head as the crabs started raining down on top of him. “I’m in trouble here!”
“On my way!” and Jay saw the green dragon mech zigzag across the sky, tearing through the planes with its mechanical claws and firing missle after missle. “Guys, does anyone have eyes on Garmadon? I can’t see him from here.”
“I do,” Kai ground out, and Jay could tell that the fire ninja was not happy. “He’s on the south side, I’m gonna need all hands on deck to take care of him. He’s got a new barracuda mech? I think?”
“Zane, get to Kai,” Lloyd said, and for First Master’s sake they had to stop sending Jay on these emotional rollercoastsers. He could not function under these conditions! “I’m right behind you.”
“Wait!” Jay exclaimed, because even though there may have been no more planes attacking, there were definitely people on the ground that would be trying to make their way towards him. For the first time he noticed that his weapon was gone; it must’ve gotten lost as he went down. “I don’t have anything to defend myself with, you know! They find me up here and I’m fucked!”
“You’re fucked anyway if we don’t defeat Garmadon,” Kai said harshly, and Jay flinched even though no one could see him. “Cole and Nya are almost there.”
“About that,” Cole said, and for the sake of the First Master could they please stop delivering bad news?! “I’m a bit stuck too.”
“Stuck? How are you stuck?” Nya asked, concerned. “Do I need to go back-”
“No, get to Jay,” Cole insisted, flicking a few switches near the mic and slapping a new record into his turntable. “I can handle it. I’m with you, girl, so lead the way.”
Jay knew that above all else, he trusted his best friend with his life; if he said he was with someone, Cole was going with them. Sighing in relief, the adrenaline finally started to fizzle out, and Jay sobbed as the pain started to set in again. It was blinding; the pool of blood had risen to his ankle and Jay was starting to feel the effects. Woozy, he tried to open up the comm channel, forgetting that he never closed it.
“Please hurry,” he slurred, and the fire racing up his leg made him yelp in pain. Vision blurred with tears, Jay let his head rest against his seat again, shutting his eyes and hoping that the world would stop spinning.
Until a shadow was finally cast over him. He cracked his eyes open, smiling at the sight of the battered water strider mech, the love of his life (even if she didn’t know it yet) giving him the world’s brightest grin as she grabbed her spear and saluted him. “You called, Blue?”
“I did,” he said softly, a chuckle bubbling out of him despite the grimness of his situation, “and they couldn’t have gotten anyone more gorgeous to answer it.”
Later, he would blame the flirting on the blood loss, but only he knew how much of a lie that really was.

Ninjago Fic Rec Week: Day 3
Prompts: Angst / Kai Recs! *aka the best combo ahahaaaa*
Angst Recs (get ready for a lot of Wu being sad):
The Tale of the Teacher: BASICALLY a look at Wu's very tragic life through the eyes of Wu himself, and my personal inspiration for all things, well, Wu and tragic (and you do need to be logged into an Ao3 account for this one). A must-read for all Wu fans, and especially for those who are not~
Photographs: Wu reminiscences on all he's lost in the midst of Season 11 through pictures of times gone by~
No Eye For These: Wu reflects on losing his brother, right after just banishing him ;w;
It Will Rain Again Someday: Not necessarily angst but fills me with enough emotional damage to feel like it is, Wu adores his older brother so so so so much, even when they butt heads, even when they have opposing but equal opinions, even when they're on opposite sides of the battle field...probably the most potent Spinjitzu Brothers thing I've ever read. Changed my brain chemistry, man.
for want (for nothing): the staff corrupted!kai story that speaks to me very specifically snksnksnk Reading the gradually (or not so gradually) descent into enveloping himself in all that power is maddening and awesome and so very painful
Cry Me a River: Kai Post-Seabound; short, bitter, visceral, and powerful in the deliverance of emotions~
Married to the Sea: In case anyone wanted to relieve the pain that is Seabound's ending again, but with a Jay-colored coat of paint <3
half hearted-boy, maybe we'll have more connection: GUT-WRENCHING thing on parallels b/w Lloyd and Harumi. I am not the same person i was before. Tragedy does not have an age limit.
Kai Recs:
All I've Ever Known: One of the best kind of fics- Kai having to cope with team bonding during the events of the pilots <3(I have very obvious tastes). But! Has a lot of introspective Kai moments and outrospective (?) moments with him and the future team he's one day never going to imagine a time without.
Spice, and Everything Nice: Kai, in both a show of brotherly love and brotherly pride, attempts to outdo his siblings in a test of all things spice and chocolate. It's just so cute aaaaaaa!!!!
Bonfire: Lloyd wants to make a fire, Zane tries to offer suggestions, and Kai makes it personal. Slice of Life fic that would have made for a nice little episode during Season 2, honestly! And a nice look at the characters outside of their normally hectic settings~
Flicker: A story about Kai and the warmth he brings to himself and others, doesn't seem like much at first but you will be gutpunched by love and softness by the end~
Bucket List: In the category of angst and Kai with probably a guilty pleasure fic of mine, Kai strikes a deal with Morro and a horrifying journey of self-discovery ensues. It get a little dark but it's funny, gripping, heart-wrenching, and will probably have you looking at Kai in a new light by the end of it.
N Stands for Neutral: Kai teaches Lloyd to drive, chaos ensues, nuff said
Why Birds Fly: Probably not for the squeamish around eggs, insects, or ear-related agony (it's not nearly as bad as I'm making it sound I promise just being cautious) BUT another non-life-threatening crisis story that has an amazing dynamic between Kai, Cole and Jay, and their tendency to be both the best brothers you could ask for and the absolute worst.
The Process of Making Amends: Kai and Garmadon butting head and it's goes about as well as you'd expect....but, there is one thing they can reach a consensus on.
Going, Going, Gone: Vintage Classic on kai's take on Skylor throughout Season 4. Definitely Kailor, but also not exactly "shippy". It really is more of a character examination in the form of lil snippets and it lives in my mind rent-free.
From What It Was: Kai reflects on all the changes in the team post-s7. It makes me misty-eyed every time ;w;
Kai and the Futile Fist Fight: Anyone wanna see Kai and Jay have a real fight during Crystalized, with 50% more awesome fight moves and 50% more raw emotion and 100% more Kai being distressed over his sister in his own way? Here ya go!
"Mr. Smith" At Your Service: Kai pretends to be Nya's father. Nya gets far too much of a kick out of it, and it goes about a well as you'd expect snksnksnk
broken pieces: More Pilots!ninja bonding, short and sweet and ofc with a special focus on Kai! Left a very big impression on me, haha
this isn't how it's supposed to be: MOAR PILOT BONDINGGGGGGG and UNGH it's so BEAUTIFUL, especially love the character dialogue in this one!
