“Xiaoge…” Wu Xie turned back to the beast, patting the smooth, surprisingly warm scales with his other hand. “How…? Why?”

The beast made a grumbling, displeased sound and huffed again, making Wu Xie and the fox both close their eyes tightly against the scorching hot breath.

Right. No way to speak. Wu Xie’s questions were not helping, irritating at best.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Stupid question.” Wu Xie apologized, patting that hot snout again. “So I guess this means you fell in with me, yes?”

The huge head nodded, once, very carefully, the movement clearly unnatural.

“Okay okay,” he said, using one hand to pat the huge snout and another to pat the fox. It was making it easier to think this way. “I woke up in that large room. I was fine. Human. But you… you were already changed.” He frowned, trying to remember the exact layout of the space. “You were close, weren’t you? And already in this… shape when you woke up?”

That huge head nodded again, still very careful, and Wu Xie gave a slight hum as he thought. “Do you know what happened to Liu Sang? Did he fall in as well? I haven’t seen him down here.”

That red eye just blinked at him, and he felt a gentle nip on his leg. He looked down to see the fox looking up at him. Once it saw that it had his attention, it kept its eyes on him as it very deliberately gave his leg another gentle nip, not hard enough to even cause any pain. Wu Xie’s hand stilled in its fur as his eyes got wider and wider as realisation struck.

“...Liu Sang?”

The fox sighed, probably not accidentally mirroring Zhang Qiling’s tired sighs, and then opened his jaws wide and did his best to mock bite Wu Xie’s thigh. He could feel the press of teeth against his pants, but no actual pain. The fox rolled its eyes at him and then bit again and again.

“I get it,” he said finally, patting the fox on the still damp head. “I get it, I’m sorry for thinking you were just an ordinary fox!”

Liu Sang stopped mock biting him and then looked at Zhang Qiling, stretching his neck to carefully sniff at the huge shape.

it’s been a hot minute since the last time i did a year in review but i’m so glad i’m back to being active on this blog! this blog has been through its fair share of ups and downs but we’ve made it through a shithole of a year nonetheless. 

to the friends from this blog’s early ipd days, i’m sorry we’ve lost contact. you were all so important to me and the main reason why i didn’t archive this blog so i’m hoping one day we can get in touch again ♡ 

to everyone i’ve met along the way of reviving this blog, thank you from the bottom of my heart. i am inspired each day i open this app and that is largely because of all the wonderful talent i see all the time. we are undoubtedly the most wholesome online family i’ve ever met and i am so glad you were such an important part of my 2020 experience ♡

this year, despite its hardships, was also a pretty special year for me! 

i finally entered my roaring 20s (bit of an anticlimax i must say) and unveiled with it a whole new level of adulting i am wildly unprepared for 

i finished the pre-clinical portion of my degree maintaining an HD average and got placed in my first preference hospital for next year (!!!!!) 

i completely overextended myself in terms of committees and extracurriculars for 2021 but i’m still proud of how i handled an unusual application process in times like this year 

i don’t think i’ll ever be able to express my gratitude enough to the people who reblog my content and motivate me to keep this blog up and running. to all the content creators who find their way across my dashboard, thank you for being the best thing in my monotonous day, i don’t think i would have made it through 2020 without you ♡♡♡

hi friends! this year had its highs and lows and i’m ready to let go of it, but i won’t let go of the beautiful people i met on here in the past months, and those i already knew and who keep bringing joy onto my dash! i got into a new fandom that brought me many joys and new beautiful people into my life and i couldn’t be happier about that! you’re all cool so here’s my humble thank you to you ♡
