Bad Habit
Bad Habit (NSFW) Characters: Levi x Hange Word Count: 1147 words Canon Universe So, this links a couple of things together…
Fiercely, Levi yanked Hange’s leg to his heaving chest, lifting her hips up so that he could sink his weight into her. Beneath him, Hange’s head was thrown back against the pillows, his name escaping her in strangled gasp. Insatiable, Levi pushed deeper, more insistently into her. Strangely, he found he was no longer concerned about the noise they were both making.
This felt different to the last time they had been together… That had been a quick, messy, sweaty affair; half-dressed and leaning against a block of straw. Hange remembered the clumsy, desperate kisses; her hair still wet from the rain; her cold lips against Levi’s neck. There had been no time for self-consciousness, for they had only stolen a few precious moments together. Afterwards they had found it hard to look at one another; clawing pieces of hay from tangled hair, hastily buttoning shirts and fastening belts. There had been no time to think about their next meeting, or to question the events which had passed inside the stable… Before she had even acknowledged the line she and Levi had just crossed, Hange had found herself rushing back to the castle with her jacket held up over her head.
But this time, things were different. Hange hadn’t been expecting company that night. It seemed as though hours had passed as she had sat upon the lounge chair in her room, eyes glazed. She had been too exhausted to cry any more bitter tears. Hange stared at nothing; her body bowed forward so that one elbow rested upon her knee. Fretfully, she gnawed upon a bitten-down nail. One ugly thought surfaced, then another rose to take its place. Increasingly wild theories were emerging, leaping over one another; giving persistent chase around her mind.
A sharp knock had brought her back to her surroundings. Hastily rubbing her face, Hange approached the door. There was Levi, bearing a china cup and saucer. Of course he’d brought tea. Was it a pretence? She had hardly entertained the thought before glancing over his shoulder first one way, then the other up the darkened corridor.
“Did anyone see you?”
“No…” Levi raised his eyebrows. He held out the cup to her, but did not cross the threshold. Hange turned her back to the doorway. There came the sound of a click.
“You never make two. You didn’t think I’d ask you in, huh?”
Hange coughed out a tearless sigh as Levi set the tea down upon a small, round table. He offered a half-shrug. Hange returned to her chair. Hesitantly, Levi made a brief motion as though he was about to leave again. Instead, with a gentle thud, he kicked off his boots by the door and took a seat beside her.
Seemingly, Hange felt like talking after all. The conversation wound itself in convoluted loops, beginning with the deaths of Sawney and Bean, before meandering through possible theories. First, Erwin’s, which had been the outcome of the little information they had managed to gather. Soon their talk wandered through the labyrinth of Hange’s thoughts; twisting into complications which neither could explain. What would the attacker’s next move be? The expedition teams were leaving tomorrow; it could not be delayed. There were those who knew. There were those who could never know. Hange’s tea had grown cold in its cup, the colour fading from golden brown to milky grey.
“It’s not just about the titans…” Hange’s voice was hoarse. “It’s…”
She gestured uselessly, buckled under the weight of such weariness. No. It wasn’t grief for Sawney and Bean but the wasted effort. Her heart ached with it; the risk to those lives who had helped to capture the titans. And what was there to show for their preparation and sacrifice? It was all for nothing. Worse, the Scouts were bound to face the same danger all over again if they were to learn anything new.
“I know,” came Levi’s reply, filled with doubtless reassurance.
Exhausted, Hange sank against him. Her cheek rested on the collar of his jacket.
“I know it's more than that. And we’re all just as sorry for it.”
Beside her, he was real and solid and warm. For a moment, the horror of the situation wasn’t entirely insurmountable. They would find the perpetrator, one way or another. Even if it wouldn’t bring the test subjects back. Even if it meant putting even more lives at risk… alas, that was the Scouts’ burden to bear. Hange shifted slightly against him. Her forehead rested against Levi’s chin. She could feel the rise and fall of his chest. As his fingers stroked her hair back from her face, Hange released her breath slowly. Levi had remained still then. Hange turned her head towards him. He did not move away. Then she gently brushed her lips against his.
Everything had happened quickly after that, like a series of choreographed movements. They were learning each other’s patterns, rhythms, inclinations, as though by instinct. Their bodies were no longer strangers to one another. It was suddenly easy to undress each other; safe to lose themselves completely. It was becoming a habit.
Now Hange’s head was pressed into the pillows scattered upon her bed. Her legs were draped over Levi’s shoulders, so slick with sweat that they were slipping out of place. Levi’s hand clutched her ankle firmly. Hange was lost to an all-engrossing heat; one that was building so sharply, so agonisingly close. She hardly noticed when Levi’s fingers threaded through her own, gripping her hands as his thrusts became more desperate.
Her whole body rocked on a wave of ecstasy. As the sensation crested to its peak, Hange choked out a few incoherent words between her sobs. Heat flared within her. Every muscle in her body clenched. And then, the sting of pleasure was ebbing away.
Levi’s movements were slowing. His eyes were closed; brow slightly furrowed in concentration; his cheeks flushed. Dark hair stood up, uncharacteristically unruly. Hange’s chest pulled tight. Her hands slid up Levi’s back and into his dishevelled hair. Breathless words left her in a sigh. Levi’s body tensed. He drew back enough to look down at where she lay beneath him. Her eyes were half-closed; face aglow.
She knew he would not answer. Not until he was sure of what he had heard. Both shared the same secret but were too afraid to reveal it.
Hange took Levi’s warm face in her hands. Their lips met silently, softly. She held him there and Levi showed no inclination to draw himself away, or to continue moving against her.  He was still inside her; stomachs pressed together; skin warming one another, as he kissed her again. Their bodies moulded naturally, as though they were made for only this. As though they could remain this way for the rest of their days.   ... Levi x Reader version is here.

Reckless Behavior - Part 2
Pairing: Levi Ackerman/Hange Zoë (Attack on Titan) Rating: Explicit. MDNI Warnings: Nipple play. Vaginal Fingering. Oral Sex. Unprotected Sex. Additional tags: She/Her pronouns for Hange Zoë on this one. Wordcount: 3k Read part one here >>This is smut. Minors please do not interact<<
Levi was a skilled man, but right now he was struggling with the small sphere that refused to leave the confines of Hange’s shirt. Of course, the button was just a scapegoat, the real culprits being his hands, which trembled in anticipation as they revealed new inches of her skin.
It was conflicting. His mind wanted to savor this moment, to commit every gaze, sound, and touch to his memory. Levi wanted to hold time in his hands, unroll it like a ball of yarn so that each moment would last forever and tomorrow would always be one night away. His body, on the other hand, was taken with desire. The rampant beast that for long Levi had managed to stifle with layers upon layers of ‘It's never gonna happen’ was now thrashing fiercely inside him, threatening to burst its prison of flesh and devour the Squad Leader right then and there.
Levi let his forehead fall to her shoulder, overwhelmed by the dispute between the expectations he had built in his mind and the reality that his own flesh was imposing on him. The captain inhaled deeply, letting the smell of oily hair and old books wash over him.
The aroma had inhabited the captain’s desires for months now. It was difficult for Levi to focus on the Senior Officers’ meetings sometimes, especially after Hange picked up the habit of sitting next to him. A couple of minutes in and Levi's mind would be invaded by the image of himself buried in the crook of her neck. Erwin’s voice would fade in the distance as her panting and soft whimpers echoed in the corners of his mind. Levi thought, in those moments, what he wouldn’t give to know how it would feel to drown in Hange, what she’d look like while he was pounding into her, what she would sound like as she was coming around him.
His heart picked up the pace, fueled by the fresh memory of the delicious sounds Hange had been making for him so far.
He would find all of that out today.
As the thought occurred to him, the final button was undone.
Time slowed down as Levi took in the scene before him. Both sides of Hange’s shirt opened like a curtain revealing the skin of her neck, reddened in the places his tongue and teeth had explored just moments ago, some purplish spots proving his suctions weren’t as soft as he had believed them to be. She looked so fucked out already. Messed-up hair. Flushed cheeks. Red, swollen lips. Hange was the one against the wall, but her eyes were that of a predator that cornered its prey.
Her chest heaved up and down, and Levi was hypnotized by her breasts. Silky skin, lighter than her usual complexion, contrasted with the dark brown areolas that sat atop it. His mouth watered at the tempting sight. Even though they weren’t very big, Hange’s tits looked plump and heavy, like ripe fruits ready to be tasted.
Levi wet his lips, eyes glued to her hardened nipples,  “Can I-”
“Yeah” She breathed out through a smile, and when his gaze lifted to meet hers, her grin faltered into a pitiful desperate expression “Please, Levi.”
A shiver ran across his skin, raising every hair on his body and making his cock twitch inside his underwear. He dove back into her, hands kneading at each of her breasts, lips locked around the velvety skin of one of the brown nubs. Hange’s fingers grabbed at his hair and her moans were music to his ears. Levi sucked thoroughly on her nipple, then let his tongue swirl around the flesh, before pulling on it with his teeth, which elicited a throaty “fuck” from her. He replaced his mouth with his fingers, moving his lips to the other side to do the same thing.
Levi wanted to protest when Hange let go of the firm grip she had on his locks, but the captain had a mouthful at the moment. Then, she started fidgeting a bit, one leg dancing between their bodies, then the other. When Levi finally let go of the task that was keeping him occupied, Hange was already shaking the remaining pant leg off of her feet. With a final kick in the air, the item of clothing flew away, landing on the floor near the wall adjacent to them. The shirt joined it next. So much for being careful not to wrinkle their uniforms…
But his mind didn’t stay long on the evidence of their rendezvous, not when Hange Zoë stood before him in nothing but panties. Not when she had that gorgeous wide smile that made him go to heaven and back every time he caught a glimpse of it. Levi stepped forward, one of his hands unceremoniously sliding down her stomach and right under the waistband of the undergarment. His eyes were fixed on her face as his fingers explored the outside, feeling the prickling of her thick bush and the way it contoured her slit, then the warmness inside, the frailness of that naked skin, and then-
Fuck.
So fucking wet.
Hange’s eyes fluttered closed and Levi melted away when his fingers finally dove in between her folds.
Her head fell onto his shoulder, her panting occasionally broken by a whimper, as Levi alternated between dipping his middle finger into the pool that gathered at her entrance and rubbing circles on her clit with his coated digit. Her lips were so close to his ear, every little gasp or moan falling into it and traveling straight to his cock, which he’d unconsciously started rutting against her leg.
It felt so good.
A little more of this and Levi was sure he would make a mess on his uniform, and if the way Hange’s body was starting to wriggle was any indication, she was close too.
Levi’s wish was to speed up his ministrations, have her come on his fingers, and then in any and whichever other way she’d like, but, for once, reason spoke louder. After all those months fantasizing about this, stroking himself late at night in the communal bathroom over the thought of the faces she’d make during her high, he couldn’t have Hange hiding in his neck when that finally happened. That wouldn’t do.
Still, it was hard to stop.
Levi let his finger slide down from her clit to push at her entrance, and the way her slick walls sucked him in had him lightheaded. Even though the captain was a disciplined man, It took him every ounce of restraint he had to remove himself from her.
Hange started to protest but her words became mumbles and then silence fell as she stared at the digit disappearing between his lips. Levi’s eyes fluttered closed and he moaned at the tangy scent and the slightly salty taste of her.
“You drive me fucking crazy,” he whispered, hoisting Hange up by her thighs and diving into a deep kiss. She wrapped her legs around his waist, arms holding on to the back of his neck and his shoulder.
Hange rutted her hips against his clothed cock, following the rhythm of their tongues, her warmness and wetness radiating even through the fabric.
Levi moved them away from the wall, turning around to let her fall onto the mattress, ass right at the edge of the bed. He pulled her panties down her gorgeous long legs, taking a minute to marvel at the sight of her glistening pussy before falling to his knees.
He caressed Hange’s thighs, then pushed them down until they were flush against the mattress. Levi thanked the flexibility the Survey Corps training gave its soldiers as he watched her open herself as much as she could to him.
Hange shivered at Levi's kisses on her inner thighs and at the light circles his thumb traced on the sensitive skin near her knees. He made a path towards her hips and lay a final kiss on her slit. Only then he licked a stripe from her entrance to her clit. Levi closed his eyes for a second and he let out a throaty groan as he finally got a taste of her straight from the font.
“I can’t believe we’re doing this, Four Eyes” he breathed against her pussy. “You’re so good.”
Hange arched her back away from the bed and grabbed his sheets as his tongue prodded at her hole. Then, she was arching in the opposite way, back pressed hard against the mattress, head up, fingers once again tangled in Levi’s hair, holding his head in place as his lips latched on to her clit, soft tongue alternating between flicking it up and down and making circles all around it. She seemed to like the circles best.
Levi sped up his pace, marveling at the sounds Hange was making for him. Her sharp breaths were slowly and steadily being replaced by moans, which grew louder and quicker at each roll of his tongue. As her back started to rise from the mattress once again, and as her hands pressed his head down harder against her pussy, he knew she was close. His eyes shoot up to her, ready to burn the image into his memory. Her face was red and sweaty, eyes shut tightly, mouth agape, lips so swollen and glossy from their kissing. Hange looked like a goddamn goddess and Levi was worshipping her the way she deserved.
Hange's moans became shorter and shorter building up until a drawn-out whimper took over. This was it. Levi pressed his tongue flat and hard against her clit, and her whole body tensed up under him. Her legs shivered and her thighs tried to rise from the bed, but Levi pushed them down with his palms again, his tongue now pressing small firm circles on her clit, dragging out her orgasm 'til the last drop.
Her whine morphed into an anguished cry of pleasure as Levi’s tongue gradually slowed down, still firm against her oversensitive nub. When he finally stopped, Hange was pushing his forehead away from her. He sat back on his ankles to watch her with a cocky smile on the corner of his lips, her arousal smeared all over his cheeks and chin.
“Levi,” Hange panted “I had no idea you could fuck like that.”
“I haven’t fucked you,” Levi stood up, then added: “yet.”
His reply made her giggle, but as Hange sat on the bed and glanced at his pants, her eyes widened in silent panic.
Levi looked down to find his briefs and part of his open fly damp, with whitish stains starting to form in the drier parts. His blood froze during the split-second he believed he had cum in his pants just from eating Hange out, but, to his relief, it was the result of her rubbing against him earlier.
Given his natural clean-freak disposition, Levi would’ve thought something like this would annoy him, instead, it made his cock throb under the soiled pants.
“Sorry, Levi! I’ll get them cleaned when we-”
Levi took a step forward to hover over his colleague, one hand pushing her torso back to the bed, his knee nudging one of her legs to the side so he could shove his middle and ring fingers into her. Despite the abruptness of this intrusion, he slid in without resistance. Hange gasped and he cursed as her walls clamped around him.
“Looks like you’re ready,” he said, making a hook movement with his fingers as he pulled them out. Levi removed his shirt and hung it on one of the pegs behind his door. He used his ruined pants to wipe his hands and face, then discarded them next to Hange’s clothes on the floor.
There were no barriers between them now, no secrets, Levi thought, as he stood naked between Hange’s legs. Her hands traveled up his abdomen, soft palms tracing his muscles, making him shudder under her light touch. She pulled him closer for a kiss while retreating to lay further back on the bed. When they reached their destination, she shifted her weight to the side, showing him what she wanted.
Levi obeyed, laying on his back as she positioned herself above him, legs on each side of his hips, wet pussy lips hugging his dick, pressing it against his stomach.
Hange started out slow, rolling her hips back and forth, the sway of her body so fluid it had Levi hypnotized. He tried to get a hold of her breasts, but Hange caught his wrists, trapping them behind his head. She lowered herself on his chest to lay little pecks on his lips, which soon became deep kisses. She moaned in his mouth each time his tip poked at her clit.
Hange freed one of her hands to play with Levi's chest. He watched unblinking as she dipped her thumb and index finger in her mouth before trapping one of his nipples between them. She twiddled with nub and Levi couldn’t hold back his moans, the sensation completely overwhelming.
“So sensitive,” she smiled down at him, and the sight was so divine Levi wondered if maybe he’d died and was in heaven. He was so entranced he didn’t have time to react when Hange guided him to her entrance and sank down.
“Fuck! Han-” his words melted into an incomprehensible mewl.
An eternity fantasizing during the Senior Officers’ meetings wouldn’t have prepared him for how fucking fantastic it felt to be inside Hange. She was impossibly tight and yet it was so easy to slide in and out of her. Hange didn’t give him time to get used to her grip, setting a steady pace from the get-go. Levi would occasionally snap his hips to meet her thrusts, and every time he did so her pussy clenched around him, making him see stars.
The best part was feeling all of this while watching Hange’s face contort in pleasure, her usually innocent big brown eyes, now half-lidded, shutting hard whenever he hit some secret spot deep inside of her. When her lips parted to let out a moan, he couldn’t help but capture them in a kiss, swallowing her sounds. The feeling of her tongue gliding through his somehow made the pleasure he was feeling skyrocket. If heaven felt like this, he didn’t care if he died tomorrow in the expedition.
His soul just about left his body when out of nowhere Hange tightened more than he thought possible around him. Levi looked up in confusion, only to find a mischievous grin on her face. She did that on purpose and oh fuck-
Again.
And again.
Hange kept this up, bouncing faster and faster on his cock. Indescribable pleasure built up in him, the sensation so intense and overwhelming that Levi didn’t even have it in him to moan. So he panted, louder and louder, quicker and quicker, until, with a final long squeeze Hange tipped him over the edge, and then he was shuddering, spilling all he had inside of her.
They lay side by side for several minutes, first catching their breath, and then breathing silently. The mattress shifted when Hange propped herself to get up, but Levi got a hold of her wrist before she could leave the bed.
“Where do you think you’re going, Four Eyes?”
“To clean myself up” she replied, moving to leave the bed, but Levi wouldn’t budge. “What? I thought my tidiness would make you proud” She joked, getting an amused puff from him, but his hand remained in place.
“Stay. Please.”
Hange lay back again, facing him, and Levi sighed in relief. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer to bury his face in the crook of her neck, his nose drowning in her hair. His lips found the shell of her ear to plant his confession “I wanna go again”, to which she replied with a chuckle and a light caress of his hands. A truer confession, however, would be that he simply didn’t want this night to end.
“As much as I’d like to, I gotta be able to ride my horse tomorrow”
Right.
Tomorrow.
His thoughts must have been made transparent by his expression because Hange’s playful demeanor changed to a serious one. She lay on her back, staring at the ceiling in silence for long minutes.
“Do you think we’ll ever see this thing through?” She said, finally.
He tilted his head to the side, and she looked at him out of the corner of her eye.
“Titans. The walls. These expeditions” Hange elaborated, looking at the ceiling again, “I know these things take time, generations even, but I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see an age without Titans in our lifetime.”
“No.”
She smiled weakly at his honest reply and the expression looked so out of place on her face. Levi’s heart felt suddenly heavy.
“I thought you liked your research.”
“I do, it’s just- wouldn’t you rather have a choice, Levi?”
He would, but having grown without the luxury of taking anything, not even sunlight, for granted, he knew better than to entertain false hopes. He should be honest.
“Maybe we have a chance,” is what Levi found himself saying, instead. “Maybe tomorrow we’ll kill every last titan outside of the walls or you’ll find some secret poison or come up with some incredible weapon that will wipe them out. Maybe tomorrow will be our last expedition.”
She smiled a strange smile, melancholic and complicit, her eyes reflecting exactly what he was feeling. It was a conversation without words.
Thanks for lying for me. Thanks for lying with me.
Hange turned on her side, this time with his back to him, and pulled one of his arms close to her chest.
“Yeah. Maybe.”

hear me out
back in the underground, whenever levi and co were doing a heist (or you know the day to day activity of running from military police), and levi was on ODM, tasked with finding isabel, her only signal was to shout with her arms raised and bent above her head in a heart shape. doesn’t matter the context. she’s in some trouble? levi or farlan gets the heart signal. it’s morning and isabel is wandering out to greet them? she stretches and gives them both a heart, and yells “MORNIN!” much to levi’s continued annoyance.
so unnecessary, so cheesy, levi is allergic to affection, etc.
but after they died, he still remembered a lot of those moments a lot, but for no reason he can really name. he gets viscerally embarrassed at the idea of doing something so dumb.
hange though never failed to remind levi of isabel in a lot of ways, especially in how silly and upbeat they were, and isabel before she died.
to some degree, hange did die after retaking shiganshina - their spontaneous and carefree spirit mostly extinguished by the trauma, crippling responsibility, and the morbid reality ahead of them.
levi notices, because he notices everything. but levi? - not that great at the whole “cheering up” skill.
but one night, they’re together, and hange is slumped on the couch in their quarters with him. exhausted, but not in the way that can be helped by sleep. it takes, like, a whole fifteen minutes of sitting in relative silence for levi to psych himself up enough to finally, maybe, put what isabel unintentionally taught him to use for the first time ever.
he never imagined he would. but it’s hange.
so he sits up on the couch, back against the side cushion and grumbles their name real shyly. he’s actually nervous. but he’s in too deep to turn back now that hange is giving him an inquisitive look.
so he raises his arms and does the stupid mushy painfully cute heart thing.
their eyes widen, and in a split-second levi decides it’s worth it. because he hadn’t heard them giggle so brightly, or throw their head back laughing like they used to in years.
it looks like this btw:

Only You
A short Levihan piece that started out as a poem for Hange's birthday, but know I have no idea what it is now LOL. Please enjoy!
Hange's first birthday after their demise.
!read this after reading the piece!
I like to think levi and the 104th set up a memorial in marley for their fallen comrades, and levi always visits it. He'll always bring white flowers for everyone. But not for Hange. He'll always bring them new flowers, odd flowers, stinky flowers, all that. When I was choosing what flower he'd give to them on their birthday, I had two choices; the lavender and the sunflower. I wanted lavender bc, levihan colors, and I wanted sunflower bc thats my username! Both flowers mean something along the lines of devotion ofc, but I ended up with sunflower since 1. I think it's a flower hange would prefer 2. It also means unconditional love and 3. According to google, its a perfect gift for a loved one you adore. ITS PERFECT!
A basket on my lap.
Being pushed on my way to you.
Do you know?
I'm sure you do.
I reminisce.
When you told me of the red strings of fate
Connecting souls to their other halves
To be their paths toward home.
Red lines marking the lovers' bonds.
You never fully agreed with the belief of them being tied by some spirit.
You much rathered thinking it was the lovers' who tied the ends to each others fingers.
I think it's more romantic that way, don't you?
The bonds and hardships shared and formed by the lovers are what would make up the thread
The time they spend together… the secrets… and the warmth and comfort of each other.
"Soulmates are made. Not found." is what I think, at least.
You told me with a giggle.
Your eyes looking at mine.
And yet again,
When your eye stared deep into my soul.
"Hey, Levi… when one of the lovers die, what do you think happens to the thread?"
"It's your birthday, why are you thinking about that?"
"Just wondering. I think it would be soooo beautiful if it stays on. But also, I think it also would be good if it gets cut."
"All of this is hypothetical."
"Yeah but it's fun."
"…I think it would depend."
"Oh?"
"Age, how deep the relationship is, y'know, that shit. It depends."
"Indeed… Say… Levi… what if—"
"Stop stalling."
"Ah, but it's embarassing!"
"You embarrass yourself in front of everyone everyday. I seriously doubt anything could be embarrassing as the time in the kitche—"
"Ok, ok, I get it! So, What if the red strings aren't just for lovers. They could be for friends! And I was thinking, maybe… they could…also…be for us…"
What was it?
Your head practically laying on my lap?
The red on your cheeks, or the warmth of mine?
The flutter of my heart, or the still in time?
"You high or something, glasses?"
"C'monnn, this is why I didn't wanna say it!"
"So, why'd you bring this up."
"Just curious. If we were connected by the red string. Would you want the string to be cut or not if one of us dies."
"If you die I will personally make sure hell has the worst torture prepared for you."
"Pff- Ahaha! Ahahahahahahahahaha!"
There was something so special
About that night
Was it the smile on your face
Or the one on mine?
"Woah! So you do smile!"
"Shut it. This isn't the first time you've seen it."
"So, does this mean you wouldn't forget me when I die?"
"You won't die, glasses. We've been through hell together."
"Aww, you can't face your true feelings!"
"I will kick your ass."
"So you do want to keep our connection, even in death."
I hate this.
When you know exactly what's on my mind
But then again
This only proves what you thought, right?
On this same day, five years ago.
A basket on my lap.
Being pushed on my way to you.
Have you found the answer?
Tell me, Hange.
Can you see the thread that ties us eternally?
Because for me, I need no confirmation.
I'm sure of it.
You'll love this sunflower.

It was quiet in his apartment in Marley. Rarely anyone visited so that left Levi in his own presence. This resembled much of his life, alone always. Today he chose to read a small book on the wondrous concept of time travel. It fascinated him to no end so you could imagine his annoyance when he heard knocking at the door.
“Go away!” He yelled out, hoping the person would go away but the knock grew louder until he could no longer ignore it. Levi marched up to the door expecting one of the 104th brats to be standing there but instead, he found a peculiar girl with a notebook in hand.
“Hi is this the residence of Mr. Ackerman?” Mia asked.
“Whose asking?” Levi retorted, turning defensive in an instant.
“Mikasa told me to come here. She said you could answer my questions about my father’s sibling.” She outstretched her hand but Levi declined to shake it.
“Whose your father’s sibling?” Levi asked, annoyed at her vague answers.
“Hange Zoe. My name’s Mia Zoe,” she said. Levi dropped the book that was in his hand and stared for a long time at Mia. Sure Hange had told him stories about the three-year-old niece she had but he had assumed her family wanted no contact with him.
“You can come in,” Levi whispered, sidestepping and allowing the girl to come in.
“You have a nice home.”
“Thanks.” There was an awkward silence that Levi attempted to fill. “Do you want tea?”
“Sure, thank you.” She nodded at him in thanks and continued to observe his humble abode. There were few belongings but the space felt lived in somehow. The shelves were lined with different photographs ranging from the rolling tides to portraits of what Mia assumed to be fallen comrades.
“That one’s Hange,” Levi said. His finger pointed to a portrait Kirchstein had drawn of Hange for him. Levi remembers the young soldier telling him it was to help him never forget their faces.
“They’ve got a nose like mine!” Mia laughed a little at Levi’s bewildered expression. “Sorry, everyone in my family has smaller noses but mine’s unique.”
“You act like Hange,” Levi grunted while handing Mia a teacup. “They were fascinated by every little thing.”
“Oh,” Mia whispered. Her family had refused to discuss Hange after their death in the Rumbling, this was the first piece of information she had heard about the mysterious family member. They both sat on Levi’s couch and he waited for a question.
“What’d you wanna ask?”
“What were they like?”
“Go away, four-eyes.” Levi flipped through some mindless paperwork.
“Not until you look at this!” Hange shoved a paper in front of Levi’s face. He sighed and pushed the paper away. “Please shorty!”
“Fine!” Levi snatched the paper from Hange’s hand. The paper was on Eren’s titan ability and some finer details Hange had noticed. It was interesting but Levi would never let Hange know that.
“Well?” Hange drawled out.
“I already knew this,” Levi growled out, shoving the paper against Hange’s chest. He resumed his paperwork and tried to ignore the laughing from Hange who enjoyed pissing Levi off so much.
“Oh well,” Hange loudly sighed. “I guess I’ll have to show you tomorrow’s report and if that doesn’t work then the day after that and the day after that and the-”
“Get. Out.” Levi gripped his black pen hard in his hand to the point where it snapped in half.
“Have fun shorty!” Hange yelled out, but not before leaving the paper on Levi’s desk which infuriated him even further.
“Infuriating but funny at the same time.”
“Meet Sawney and Beane!” Hange introduced Levi to the captured Titans. Moblit stood a few paces behind her with a tired look in his eyes at his superior’s antics.
“You named them?” Levi questioned, keeping a good distance from the greedy beings.
“Of course!” Hange ran up to Sawney and threw their arms around the neck of the Titan.
“Section commander!” Moblit yelled out before Sawney tried to move its head to bite out Hange. The section commander expertly dodged but not before petting the titan on the head and landing next to Levi.
“That happen often four-eyes?” Levi snarkily asked. He crossed his arms over his chest, unimpressed at the scene before him.
“They’re just energetic today!” Hange began to loudly laugh maniacally until they dissolved into coughing. “Anyways you can tell Erwin he’ll have a daily report and briefing.”
Levi nodded, accomplishing his purpose in coming here, and began to head out before Hange stopped him. He glared directly into Hange’s eyes before they spoke again.
“Make sure to add that in the briefings it would be nice to have some of the captains there,” Hange smirked at Levi’s annoyed expression. It was too easy to mess with the shorter man.
“Fuck you, shitty glasses,” Levi whispered as he stomped away.
“Bye, captain!” Hange called out while laughing.
“Had a knack for science and an affinity for Titans if you’d believe it.”
“Nobody ever stays by your side forever.” Hange looked down at their new desk. Commander of the Survey Corps. The death of their entire squad weighed heavily on their mind.
“I’m visiting Erwin’s grave today, did you want to join?” Levi asked. He dropped some paperwork onto the new commander’s desk.
“I need to get out of here,” Hange whispered, grabbing their coat and already heading out the door. The walk was silent as they finally made it to the shared graveyard of most of the Corps' dead soldiers. Matching gray gravestones lined the yard as they both quickly found the new plots and found who they wished to mourn for that day.
Levi stared a moment at Erwin’s stone, he picked out the engraving himself since Erwin had no family. Leader, Commander, Visionary. It was cheesy. He said some things in his head that he hoped would reach Erwin before lifting his head to Hange a few graves away.
“Thank you, friend,” they whispered. Levi watched Hange kneel to touch the gravestone before standing back up and dusting off their uniform. He noted the slumped posture in their shoulders like they had lost a reason to remain upright. Like Hange had lost the reason to remain poised.
“We have to make their sacrifices worth it. That’s our duty to them,” Levi said. Those sentiments had gotten through difficult times as well, through losing his friends, through losing his entire squad.
“We ride past the walls in a few months, it’ll be worth it,” Hange whispered. They removed their glasses for a moment and wiped their eyes. “I should head back, I got loads of paperwork to do.”
They attempted to laugh but it came out as pathetic. Levi nodded his head and followed silently behind them. Their shared walks had rarely ever been this quiet, usually filled with Hange’s rambling and Levi’s annoyed comments. He thought he would enjoy the silence but instead, it felt suffocating. He prayed inside his mind Hange would say something, anything that would tick him off but they said nothing.
“Check in on who survived. Historia demanded they all get psych evals.”
“Ok,” Levi replied. The lack of nicknames mixed in with their conversations unnerved him. Then again, out of their whole group, it was now just the two of them left, there was no one else to joke around with. How depressing.
“They were never the same after we went back to Shinganshina the first time. It was only Hange and me that survived out of the rest of the higher ranked in the Survey.”
“Is that why they stopped journaling during that time?”
“Journaling?” Levi asked.
“Yeah, Hange kept all sorts of journals in our family house. My parents wanted to throw it away but I kept them. Here’s one.” Mia handed the journal to Levi. He flipped through the pages and spotted his name a few times but saw the entries abruptly stop around the time they got back from Shiganshina.
“They became commander after we got back, more work and all.” Levi paused. “The writing probably reminded them of Moblit too.”
“Moblit?”
“He was sort of a research partner to Hange. Sacrificed himself for them to survive on that expedition.”
“Thank you for this information,” Mia said. She quickly jotted down some notes in another notepad she pulled from seemingly nowhere.
Just like Hange.
“Did you see Hange off in their final moments? All the historical accounts said you did.”
“I-” Levi paused. Memories he wished to submerge into the crevices of his soul bubbled up.
“Hey…four eyes,” Levi said, his face was forlorn.
“You understand. It feels like…it’s finally here, you know? My big moment. I want to look as cool as I possibly can right now so just let me walk away,” Hange whispered as Levi blocked their way. Sweat palpitated on their forehead as they stared at the ground, avoiding eye contact with the beings who would most likely take her life in a few mere moments.
“Dedicate your heart,” Levi whispered. His fist collided on Hange’s chest, over their heart. He faced away from the colossal, the very beings that would take away the last of his comrades that he once knew.  He began to walk away but heard a joyful Hange turn back around at Levi’s words.
“Ha! That’s the first time I’ve ever heard you say that!” Hange yelled out with joy, genuine joy, in their voice. None of that produced happiness to put on a front for people Hange had practiced in the past few months. It was real, it was tangible. It was behind Levi as he continued to walk away from the last semblance of normality in his life. Hange was a constant, despite everyone dying around him, he had Hange Zoe. That was gone, however. Levi wondered for a moment what living without a constant felt like, he figures he will know in a few moments.
“Ah, titans truly are magnificent,” Hange whispered to themself. Their final words were heard only to the skies.
Levi watched from the battered airship multiple colassals go down, more than any other person could manage. It was incredible to see the extent of Hange’s determination in action. He stared at the retreated scene, spotting a ball of fire descend from a titan. Hange. He turned his head away, they flew too close to the sun. If anyone could have done that it would have been Hange, the one who never understood boundaries.
Levi considered depicting those last moments with Hange but decided to save it for another time. It was too depressing for anyone to hear, it was a wonder he could shoulder that trauma alone.
“I have to head to the market but you’re welcome to stop by anytime.” Levi got up from the couch and began to put the tea cups into his sink. Mia got up as well and gathered her things including the journal Levi left on the table. She thought she had pushed the man too far but thought this was the best method, it is what Hange advised in their journal on how to get to know the allusive Levi Ackerman.
“I’ll take you up on that, hey has anyone ever told you that you’re short?” Mia asked, genuinely curious. She leaned up against the kitchen doorway.
“Get out.” Levi stopped his scrubbing into the dishes and stared directly into her eyes.
“Right sorry!” Mia raced out the door but Levi could hear her laughter faintly down the hall.
Yeah just like Hange.

something about hange has a lot of levi’s walls regarding physical affection thrown out the window. if anyone else gets within a 10ft range he’s practically hissing at them like a feral cat, but hange can jump onto him like a human backpack and only get thrown to the floor 40% of the time

You move with almost frightening speed around the countless buildings, escaping the hands of the blonde male behind you by razor’s edge. Why the hell are the survey corps so much stronger than the military police? So skilled with the 3D manoeuvre gear that it’s almost scary, haunting after you so fast that it’s getting harder and harder to escape their grasps. But everything is going according to plan, right? You need to get yourself caught, you need to join the survey crops, you-
“Move to the left. Just keep going and don’t look back. You are skilled enough to escape them alone.”
Your glossy eyes dart towards your husband in disbelief. No, he can’t be serious about what he just said. That would mean…
“But we’ll get separated”, you argue.
Levi is fully aware of what he’s asking from you. But given the neck-breaking speed and the skills of the people behind you, the risk of getting caught is greater than the benefit of staying together. And that man…Even though he promised you the world, Levi could tell by the sound of his voice that he isn’t trustworthy. He might go to hell, he might die in the process, but you.
There is absolutely no way in hell he’ll risk your life.
At least you’d be safe, even if it means he’ll be away from you for some time.
“I never intended on taking you with me, (y/n). If we’ll get separated, I will come and find you here. I promise.”
His words don’t make any sense while you shake your head in mistrust. But you agreed on going together, all four of you. Why would you stay behind, why would he even suggest something like that?
“(y/n), I don’t want to lose you because of a mission. Please, move left.”
You don’t know what to do, mind completely clouded by anger, fear and uncertainty. You would trust your husband with everything, laying your life right into his hands. But this? This means you might never see again, this means he’ll leave you here for who knows how long, this means your husband could lose his life for freedom.
“But what if I lose you?”
“You will never lose me. I promise I’ll come back to you, just trust me with this one. I love you, (y/n).”
You take a deep breath, the next intersection coming closer and closer. It’s time to make a decision.
Will you move left like Levi begged you to or will you move right and followi him like you initially planned?
With a load of gas you propel yourself past a building, moving with horrendous speed down the tight side streets of the underground.
One last glance. One last glance into the eyes of the man who is the only light in your life, one last glance into the cold blue eyes of the man who is now chasing after him.
“You better come back to me, Levi Ackerman”, you mutter to yourself while holding back bitter tears.
-a few years later-
“Take it or leave it. I will find someone else who’ll buy it.”
“Are you up on sale too?”
That’s enough. With a swift motion, you pierce through the man’s dirty hand with your knife before turning around and leaving his house in company of his pathetic screams.
It’s been years. Years since Levi go taken away from you by that blonde man with blue eyes, years since he promised that he’ll come back.
But he never did. With fast and skilled motions, you swing around, making your way back home before the military police starts getting on your nerves again.
Everything seems so cold since he left. Your worn-down house, the bed you used to share, your whole fucking life. Who knows what happened after they got caught. Are all of them still alive? Maybe something went wrong, maybe they die-
No. You shake your head vehemently. This is simply not possible. Levi Ackerman would never die through the hands of a titan, let alone a member of the survey corps. That’s absolutely impossible, unbelievable to say the least. Maybe he started a new life on the surface with his friends, lying under the sun right now while eating the most exquisite food.
Good for him. If you weren’t still stuck in this hell.
A few harsh knocks on the door rip you out of your dreams.
“Who the hell is this?”, you grumble to yourself.
You don’t expect any visitors today. To be exact, you never expected anyone to visit you. So who could this be? The man you threatened before? The military police officers you stole from? Whatever, you will figure it out somehow.
But when you open the door, you aren’t greeted by the face of a disgusting officer. No, you stare right into ice-blue eyes.
“When will you finally let me get her?”
He missed you every single day since you parted your way back then in the underground city. How are you? What are you doing? Are you even alive? Levi’s hands clenched into fist just by the thought of it. Countless lonely night that felt so empty without you by his side, countless people he lost during the process. If you knew what happened…
“Is a woman really that important to you? She must be someone really special if you’re still asking about her”, Erwin commented, staring at the captain sitting in front of him with eagle eyes.
Yes, he does remember you. The girl who took the left path back then, the only one him and his squad weren’t able to catch.
“She is my wife. If you don’t allow me to get her, I will quit my service”, Levi suddenly barked at his commander.
How unexpected. Even though Erwin could tell that you’ve meant something to him when he decided to leave you in the underground city, he never thought his relations to you would go that deep.
“Fine, if that’s what you wish I’ll go and escort her.”
“I will get her myself-“
“You have a job to do, remember? I will take Moblit with me, it shouldn’t take long, given she cooperates.”
Did he even have a choice? One look into Erwin’s face showed him more than urgent that this is nothing to be discussed. And even though he hates to admit it, somehow Erwin is right. These brats were unpredictable, along with Hange.
“Fine”, Levi finally grumbled.
As long as you’ll finally be back in his arms, he won’t complain.
“You”, you hiss through gritted teeth.
Your whole body begins to tremble in thick rage, eyes darting right through his spoiled soul. His eyes haunted you in your dreams, how he talked to your husband back then, how they pushed his gorgeous face into the dirt. You will never forgive him. No, nothing in the world could make you forgive the blonde man in front of you who stole your life away from you so cruel.
“Where is Levi?”
“Maybe if you calm down-“
“SHUT UP”, you immediately interrupt the other man behind him.
“You will pay for all these fucking years I had to live without him. You will pay for every sleepless night, for every tear that I cried. You will pay with your own pathetic life!”
With a swift motion, you lower the knife out of your sleeve, ready to hit his carotid artery with full force.
Until you suddenly fall to the ground, the last thing you are able to see being this asshole’s boots before everything turns black…
“I…hate…y-“
Silence, darkness, nothingness.
“You didn’t have to hit her this hard. Levi will definitely make you pay for punching his wife”, Erwin comments dryly before gently lifting your numb body over his shoulder.
“His wife, huh? No wonder she’s so feisty, what a pain in the ass”, Moblit remarks.
“I understand her anger. After all, I hid her husband for multiple years from her. Let’s see how she acts when she wakes up…”
-back at the base camp-
“Who’s this woman?”, Eren mumbles into his best friend’s ear, staring at the lifeless female body laying in front of Erwin’s feet.
“They just came back with her. But nobody seems to know who she is”, Armin clarifies.
Everything hurts. Your back, your head, your limbs feel like falling off every second. You feel like hit by a horse…Did the military police catch you? Did someone come for you? Impossible…
You rub your head, lids blinking against the harsh light. Where the hell are you? And why is it so damn bright here? This definitely isn’t the candle in the middle of your bedroom.
You lift your trembling limbs off the ground, groaning when a new wave of nausea rolls over you. God, why do you feel so bad? You can’t even remember what happened last. You were at the underground, you made a deal with that asshole, you returned home, it knocked.
It knocked.
Your eyes widen in pure horror when his face lights up in your head. He. He was there. The man who stole your life from you, the man who took your husband with him.
“I’m glad you’re awake, he should return every minute-“
“You.”
Your eyes roam around without an aim until his cold blue eyes meet yours.
“You took everything from me!” you scream on top of your lungs.
The air around you heats up immediately, all the voices quieting down in an instant when your trembling index finger darts towards commander Erwin Smith.
“You took my life from me, you stole my husband and now you kidnap me! I’ve had enough, you’ll pay for all your sins, for how miserable you made my life! Do you know how many lonely nights I begged for him to return, that I even started praying for him to come back home to me? You promised freedom but caged me to the underground in my hopeless dream of him returning someday!”
Again, you shoot towards him with your knife in your hand. Fuck, you hate the way hot tears start to sting in your eyes and take your sight, but you can’t help yourself. This man in front of you is the epitome of living hell, the reason you suffered all these goddamn years. You aim for his neck, ready to slice him open like a fish along with a toe-curling scream that escapes your trembling lips.
“Don’t.”
The sheer force of a pair of fingers wrapped around your wrist is enough to make you stop. This almost sounded like…
“Levi.”
“I have to explain all this to you calmly. Please put down your knife, (y/n).”
“You have some fucking nerve”, you mutter under your breath, eyes darting towards him for the first time in years.
He looks just like you remember him, figure roaming over you for a few inches, eyes as calm as the ocean, hair neatly trimmed. Yes, he is just as attractive as you remembered.
And alive.
And this is the first time you see him, after so many years.
“Where have you been all this time, huh?”, you cry out.
You free yourself out of his grasp, now storming towards him.
“What about the promise you made back then, that you’ll return to me?”
Your hands push against his firm chest harshly, fists slamming over and over against his tight muscles while all he does is standing there.
“You left me without saying goodbye, without even thinking about me twice. Do you know how much I cried that day, how much I missed my fucking husband?”
Tears stream down your face like a waterfall, voice so hoarse that it’s hard to cough out a single word that makes sense.
“Why didn’t you come back? Why did you leave me in the dark? Why-“
He can’t hold back any longer. Before you continue your ramblings, before you are able to hit him again, Levi wraps his arms around you and buries his face in the crook of your neck. God, how much he missed this, how much he missed the simplicity of holding his wife in his arms.
“I love you, (y/n)”, he breathes against your ear.
You see stars, feel like fainting, want to push him away while all you want is to be held at the same time. Countless nights you imagined what it would be like to meet him again, countless nights you pondered about his life, where he might live, what he is doing.
And now he’s standing in front of you, pressing you tightly against his firm body while all you can do is break down and cry in his inviting arms.
“Back then, I have asked you to move left because I feared what lies behind the walls. And I was right, (y/n). The things I saw, the countless lives the titans took. Isabel and Furan, they… They died on our first expedition. It wasn’t safe to drag you into this world. Even if I wanted nothing more than to hold you in my arms again, I figured it would be easier to know you live as far away from the titans and me than being in danger…”
“You idiot”, you spit into the face you learned to love long ago.
“I would rather die by your side than live alone at the safest place. Don’t you understand that all I wanted was to be with you?”
Your words echo through his mind, the past years replaying themselves in front of his eyes like a movie. It’s been so damn long. He should have asked about getting you sooner, he should have moved hell and earth to get you out of the underground.
“I’m sorry about all those years, (y/n). You were the only thing on my mind this whole time, I was longing for your touch, for your presence. I wrote a list of things I want to show you. I know how much I’m asking for, but please forgive me, please be by my side right here and now.”
Is it really this simple? Is one look in his lovely face enough to forget all those years you’ve waited for him? Your heart pounds hard against your ribcage, all pairs of eyes seem to be set on you. What are you supposed to do?
“A simple sorry won’t take away all those years I’ve waited for you.”
Levi swallows hard, this usual cool composure slowly but surely breaking away. Fuck, he messed up. He should have gone after you immediately, he should have ignored Erwin’s advice. If you leave him right here on the spot…His eyes widen in thick fear. No, this would completely tear him apart. After all, you are his precious wife, the love of his life, the only reason he kept going despite all the people that died in front of his eyes.
“But I won’t live in the past with regrets. I was hoping forward for this day so long, let’s enjoy it.”
And then you return his hug, wrapping your arms around his ribcage like you used to. Levi lets himself fall into your touch, soaks in the decent smell of citrons on your clothes. God, how much he missed this, how much he missed you.
“We will never return to the underground, my darling. Your place is right here under the sun.”
You press your lips against his hungrily, soaking up this precious moment. This is exactly how you imagined your reunion. Maybe a few years earlier, maybe being escorted by himself. But god, you can’t help but get lost against his mouth, your fingers re-discovering the valleys of his well-toned body.
“Huh, what’s going on here? HUH, DID I MISS SOMETHING!?”
Levi slowly removes his lips from yours, cold eyes staring darkly behind you. You follow his gaze, looking directly into the way too near face someone wearing glasses.
“This is my wife, shitty four-eyes. Can you stop bothering her?”
“WHAT? You never mentioned anything about a wife! Oh, what a gorgeous woman she is! And you’re just as small as Levi himself. Huh, maybe that’s what comes with living under the ground, right? But don’t worry, you will be just fine here! Apart from some titans here and there, and maybe titan shifters and don’t forget those-“
“Shut.Up.”, Levi hisses through gritted teeth.
