A/N - Thanks for the request!! Here’s a silly little sickfic
Summary - Ace wasn’t sick. Or at least he kept insisting that. Levi disagrees.
Tumblr media
-
Ace Markey wasn’t sick. He wasn’t. He was completely fine. Just… coughing a lot. And sneezing. And generally just feeling like garbage. But he wasn’t sick. His alarm had gone off that morning at the usual time, but Ace simply refused to roll out of bed on account of how terrible he felt.
Knock knock knock,
“What?!” Ace called out, not bothering to get up and get to the door. He would say more but he was cut off by his own coughing.
“Ace, you did not meet us at breakfast this morning. I figured it would be best to come and ask about your absence.” The voice said from beyond the door. Though it clearly belonged to Levi Fontana, Ace’s closest friend. “Whatever– I’m fine!” Ace coughed again, before rolling over and curling up in his blanket, “Go tell everyone to take a shit and mind their own business!” He added harshly. “I… do not believe I will repeat that.” Levi replied.
“Just–” Ace sighed in a frustrated manner, “I’m fine! Just go away.” He insisted. “You do not sound very fine.” Levi responded and faced Ace’s door. “Ace, are you quite sure nothing is wrong? You sound… ill.” He observed.
“I’m not–” He coughed again. Though it more sounded like he was hacking up his guts than anything. “I’m not sick!” He insisted. Levi didn’t exactly believe that. “May I enter your room for a moment?” Levi asked. “As long as you’re not gonna be a pain in the ass!” Ace shouted in response, his voice noticeably more gravely from his sickness. “I will try to avoid that.” Levi replied as he reached for the doorknob, finding it was locked. Which was typical for Ace, considering his paranoid manner.
Ace meanwhile, rolled himself out of bed to go and unlock the door. Ace tried to ignore how impossibly sweaty and heavy he felt. He stalked over to the door, clicked it unlocked, and flung the door open, nearly hitting Levi with the door.
“Ace–” Levi murmured in a concerned tone, startled at the start of him. Ace was slightly hunched over, with dark bags beneath his eyes. “What.” Ace croaked, though it sounded far more like a demand than a question.
“You look in need of medical care.” Levi stated and commented on Ace’s disheveled appearance.
“Whatever. Just come inside I guess.” Ace murmured, though that statement was followed by some incoherent mumbles and grumbling as he staggered back towards his bed and threw himself back down on it.
“You seem to have a fever… Or certainly some sort of illness.” Levi commented as Ace crawled under his blankets.
“How’d ya guess?” Ace replied sarcastically. “Well, you’re lack of energy, your trouble with movement, your physical state, your reddened face–” “It was a figure of speech.” Ace croaked as he buried his face in his pillows.
“Ah. I see.” Levi responded. “Well, since you are certainly ill, you should drink water. Hydration is necessary for health.” He added. Ace grumbled something as he basically put his pillow in a headlock because he needed to cuddle against something to fall asleep properly.
Levi went over to Ace’s desk where a half-drank bottle of water had been resting. Levi took the water bottle off the desk and approached the bed Ace was burying himself in blankets. Ace’s sickness was apparently a lot worse than Levi had thought, because Ace’s face was indeed becoming further red, and he was having definite trouble moving. “Here, drink.” Levi suggested as Ace laid back. All Ace did was murmur something incoherently. “Ace.” Levi repeated his name and put the water bottle in Ace’s hand. Levi’s eyebrows raised as Ace glanced over at Levi. Ace’s gaze was heavy, clearly due to the illness.
“Mhhmmm… thanks.” Ace muttered and took the water bottle from Levi, brought it to his lips, and took a sip before setting it down beside his bed.
“You should probably sleep now. It may help you recover faster and healthier.” Levi suggested. “Got it…” Ace grumbled in response, once again, something else incoherently added beneath his breath.
“Good.” Levi stated in response. “I will leave you be now.” Levi said as he turned towards the door. “What– hey! Where the… f-fuck do you think you’re going?!” Ace had trouble speaking, as he coughed and sniffled all through the sentence. “I thought you wanted me to… go away, as you had said.” Levi replied and turned back to Ace. “You… Can stay.” Ace murmured and slightly evaded his eyes from Levi. “Oh.” Levi echoed in a bit of a stunned way. Levi couldn’t help but smile, it was soft and delicate as he sat down on the bed beside Ace. “Hey– don’t get–” He coughed, “Don’t get too close, dumbass! You’re gonna get sick too.” He exclaimed and glared over at Levi. “Ah, you’re correct. That was foolish of me.” He said, though he couldn’t help but chuckle at the behavior, as he stood back up and sat down in a chair in the corner of Ace’s room.
Levi brought the kind of comfort that Ace needed. Ace often found himself afraid of vulnerability, but Levi’s presence was so genuine that in situations like this, Ace’s fear was put at ease. But even then, Levi’s presence was the kind that brought a kind of happiness that no one else could. The kind that made Ace feel mildly at peace while he felt like he was dying. “Levi.” Ace croaked, his voice still as gravely as it had been that day.
“Mh?” Levi hummed in response. “Thanks.” Ace muttered. He was still a bit out of it, the illness probably getting to his head. “I love you.” He added offhandedly, as he rolled over and closed his eyes. Ace must’ve been sleepy or something. He said the words offhandedly as he started to doze off.
Levi seemed caught-off-guard by the words, letting out a small noise of shock. And yet, a smile returned on his face. After a small moment of hesitance, a voice that Levi didn’t quite know he had spoke in the back of his mind. Levi decided to allow his heart to go over mind, even if he failed to understand heart at times. “I love you too.”
A/N - metaphors and stuff are great but the classic “i love you” always hits for me lol

"Night Fright"
Summary - Ace has a nightmare about what happened with Nico, and the pure fear he feels makes him feel like someone is watching his every move. He can’t sleep. So he goes and seeks condolence in the one person he’s not afraid to be vulnerable around. Levi Fontana.
Tumblr media
TW - Mentions of an eating disorder, throwing up, and displays of violence.
-
Ace remembered every single second of that moment. Ace refused to call that moment for what it was… He chose to misinterpret it. And for the first few nights after that moment, the moment where Nico attempted to kill Ace in cold blood, it worked. But after all, there were millions of lies out there, but only one truth. And that truth was that Ace should not have pushed Nico so far. Nico had never done anything bad to Ace. So why did Ace always act like that towards Nico specifically? He always claimed it was because Nico was a weakling, that they were pathetic and filthy. But in reality, Ace was jealous. Nico was so comfortable in their own skin, despite their shyness. That’s something Ace had always wanted. And yet never was capable of getting. Not once. Not ever. But even then, it was more than that. Ace hated how he felt like he was the true weak one. He was so afraid of vulnerability, that he would do anything to feel like he had some sort of impact, even a negative one. And yet, Ace ignored this truth anytime it dared come to escape the back crevasses of his mind and slips into forefront.
But it was late at night when Ace was confronted with this truth again, in his dream, where there was no running from the truth of his own complex.
-
Ace murmured something. He was back in the gym again. Ah, now he remembered! He was exercising to get strong or whatever. He had just shaken Levi off and was minding his own business. Wait– didn’t he just go to bed? And he couldn’t really remember when he chose to go to the gym. “Eh, that’ll probably… work itself out.” Ace muttered and shrugged before continuing to do the lifting he dedicated so much time too.
Click
The sound of the door opening protruded the air. “Tch- I thought I told you to fuck off, Levi!” Ace shouted, not even bothering to turn around as he lifted up the dumbbell with his right arm. He heard the sounds of footsteps approaching. And now that he thought about it, they were far too light to be Levi’s footsteps, but Ace was never smart enough to notice that. “GhAH!” Ace yelped out as cold, sharp, metal wire snagged his throat. Everything about that very moment was engraved in Ace’s memory. The sickening smell of bloody copper as the feeling of the wire digging into his flesh only became more and more known, tearing through layers of skin, warm blood splattering. Ace’s hands clawed at the wire, but fell back. He smacked into one of the weight-lifting machines. CLANK!
Surely someone had to hear that, right? No, no one was coming for Ace.
“This is your fault! You’re making me do this!” The voice of Nico said. Ace finally saw the culprit of his attack standing over him. Nicos hands were firm and their expression even more so. “S-Stop it! Stop struggling, j-just stop!” Nico hissed through gritted teeth as they forced Ace onto the ground, digging the wire in further. “Ghh! Hhh!” Ace let out muffled and disgusting sounds of desperation as he desperately attempted to fight back against Nico. Though it was in vain. “W-When do you ever stop? When do you ever listen to anyone but yourself? A-Ace Markey, Ace M-Markey, you’re just like the rest of them!” Nico said as their grip tightened. Ace began to see black dots plague his vision. Ace’s face began to turn a startling shade of red. Ace remembered that feeling. Like every one of his atoms had been scattered across the universe, and yet all he could hear was the sound of him desperately trying to breathe. Like needles had been pressed through every cell of his body. It was a feeling so sickeningly wrong.
“So just– l-let me do this!” Nico insisted. The dots grew larger. Ace’s ability to fight back became weaker and weaker. Until it was nothing at all. Nico made one final tug and then—
“GAhaH!” Ace screamed out as he jolted upright in bed. His heart was beating out of his chest, his body involuntarily trembling and shivering with each passing moment. Ace remembered that pain as his throat was sliced open. He had felt some sort of lingering phantom pain through that dream. And that only made it worse. Ace’s hand went to his throat, the feeling of the bandages covering the barely healed wound failed to very much aid Ace’s worries. His room… it suddenly felt a lot bigger. Like someone was watching him- no, like everyone was watching him. They were laughing at him. For being so pathetic- so worthless. He had no impact on anything because he was worthless- and he deserved to suffer for that. He was vulnerable, anyone could hurt him– anyone. And he’d die. He’d die and no one would miss him- no one would remember him, one day someone would think their last thought about him and it’ll be like he never even existed. All because Ace thought he was weak. Or at least that’s all that Ace told himself.
He was sweating, cold sweat running down his back. Ace took a shaky breath. He turned in his bed and went to stand up. He still couldn’t escape that feeling of being watched. It made Ace’s lip tremble with anger and fear.
“Tch-...” Ace muttered. He didn’t feel safe- he felt so vulnerable and weak. Like some kind of lost kitten. And when Ace felt like that, one of a few options happened. One, he desperately tried to take control of the situation by shoving a straw so far down his own throat that he threw up, because it had been engraved in his mind that the less you weigh, the better you are, and the better you are, the more you’re worth. And the more you’re worth… then you’re worthy of being cared about. Then there was the second option. Put other people down to make him feel mildly better about himself and make him feel powerful. Well… Ace looked over…
“Oh g-great… Three AM.” Ace muttered at that as his eyes landed on the clock, and in thin red letters, it indeed read three AM. He sighed. Where the hell did he leave that straw? He hated the idea of using his fingers- it just brought a whole new level of shame. He walked over to the bathroom and flipped on the light. “Godamnit…” Ace muttered to no one but himself as he failed to find what he needed. Though perhaps that was for the better. He sighed. Ace really didn’t feel safe. His fear of vulnerability was kicking in, and it wasn’t pleasant. But, a voice in the back of Ace’s mind spoke up. There was one person in this godforsaken killing game that he believes he can trust, one person who doesn’t think he’s a feeble-minded, idiotic, inferior coward. One person who looked past everything about Ace to try and reach out to him. Levi Fontana. Or… At least that’s what Ace thought Levi was like. Ace had thought Levi looked past everything, but he hadn’t. During that first trial, Levi looked him in the face and called him a coward. Ace had thought that Levi was the one who didn’t think he was some idiotic coward, but that was just… thrown in his face. And on top of that, Levi threatened him with death. It made Ace feel… taken advantage of. He trusted Levi, Levi made him feel safe, like he didn’t have to be afraid to be vulnerable… But it was all just thrown in his face like a cream pie at a clown. Levi had apologized plenty of times. But always for the death threat. Never for the name he had called Ace. It made Ace so upset that Levi didn’t even know what he did. But Ace felt… so terrified. And some voice in the back of his head compelled him to see Levi.
“If I feel like I’m being watched might as well actually be watched, I fucking guess…” Ace mumbled to himself as he fought back his fear to even move. Small ‘taps’ followed Ace’s steps onto the ground. He vaguely got himself together, wiping the sweat off of his face before walking towards the door. He opened the door to his room before poking his head out of the cracked-open door. He looked back and forth like he was crossing a road. Just making sure no one was awake. It was three am though, so it wasn't likely. Surely Levi wouldn’t mind being woken up though, right? Whatever. Ace shut the door to his room behind him before quietly walking over to the door labeled ‘Levi’ in bold, black letters. Ace knew the walls were thin so if Ace randomly screaming didn’t wake everyone near him, then knocking on Levi’s door probably wouldn’t do it. So, Ace balled up his fist and knocked his knuckles onto the door fairly boldly. Ace put his other hand into his pocket. He realized he hadn’t thought this through all that much. The heck was he gonna say to Levi? ‘Oh Levi!! I had a nightmare and I need you to hold me in your big strong man arms!!’ Ace imagined. He rolled his eyes heavily at that. Knowing Levi, he’d probably say something really stupid… but sweet. But stupid. Ace didn’t have any further time to think about it before the door to Levi’s room slowly opened.
“Pardon?” Levi’s voice said as he peeked from the door. As soon as Levi saw who had done the knocking, he opened the door. “Ace… You’re here.” He said and stared down at Ace. “Yeah.” Ace replied. His words became lost to him. Usually, Ace didn’t care if people liked him or not, but he didn’t really love the idea of Levi hating him. There was a silence between the two. “Do you need something? It is quite peculiar to come to me so late at night… or is it early in the morning?” Levi pondered. “I had a nightmare.” Ace stated bluntly. He shut his eyes, avoiding Levi’s gaze. “Oh… I see.” Levi replied, seeming a little surprised but not unwelcoming of Ace. “Would you like to…” Levi’s voice trailed off as he moved to the side, saying Ace could enter. Ace didn’t even wait for Levi to find his words and entered Levi’s room.
“Thanks or whatever…” Ace murmured as he sat down on the edge of Levi’s bed.
“Do you… wish to talk about it?” Levi asked. “Eh?” Ace replied, seeming confused by that. Levi scratched the back of his head and sat down next to Ace. “Well, speaking of strong emotions helps to express them. It, in a way, gets such emotions out of your metaphorical system. I’d suppose that would help you. So if you do wish to talk about what you dreamt, you may. I read that on the internet, so it must be true.” Levi explained. Ace took a moment, his brow furrowed. He looked away.
“I’m being a wuss. It’s not a big deal.” Ace muttered.
“But if it is bothering you to this level, then it does matter, regardless of what it is.” Levi stated. Ace looked over at Levi with a pitiful expression. His expression turned sour. “Why do you care?” He spat. “Because you do.” Levi said quickly. That certainly made Ace go silent for a moment. He turned away. Levi reached his hand forward to put his hand on Ace’s shoulder, but hesitated. Afterall, the two of them had not been on the best terms up until that point.
“Why do you put up with me?” Ace muttered. Levi’s head perked up.
“Put up with you? You mean… Why I seek out your company?” Levi replied and tilted his head. “I don’t fucking know.” Ace responded and shrugged a bit. “Do you actually want to be my friend or were you just pitying me because everyone else thinks I’m a worthless idiot?” Ace questioned sharply.
“Do not even imply that about yourself.” Levi chastised.
“Tch, whatever.” Ace grumbled. “Don’t dodge the question!” He added. “I-I apologize, I did not intend to… ‘dodge.’” Levi replied, slightly confused. “The reason for why I enjoy your company is due to… how I somewhat relate to you. I see part of myself within you, I mean.” Levi explained. “Eh? But I’m nothing like you! Hell, we’re exact opposites!” Ace shouted slightly. “I wouldn’t say that.” Levi said and chuckled. “I too have a rather active temper, but I’ve learned to control it more. And it is often overpowered by my care for others. We are similar in the regard of intense tempers.” He stated. “I guess that makes sense.” Ace replied in a murmur. “And, well…” Levi simply chuckled again. “You have your own positive traits that make you enjoyable to be around. You’re very easy to talk to once you begin to allow your guard to drop.” Levi said. Ace tilted your head. “Did you get hit on your fucking head or something? I’m nothing like that.” Ace said with a slight smirk on his face.
“You may think that, but I quite enjoy your company. And… you do have admirable traits.” Levi stated. Ace couldn’t help but laugh. “You’ve gotta be fucking joking!” Ace laughed, “You’re kidding, right?” Ace questioned.
“Is it so unbelievable that I genuinely do enjoy you as a person?” Levi said and tilted his head slightly. “Tch, a little bit, yeah.” Ace said in response. “Go on and tell me what’s so ‘admirable.’ Cause to me it feels like you’re just pullin’ shit outta your ass to try and butter me up or some shit.” Ace grumbled slightly at Levi, though a smirk was still present on his face.
“You do not hesitate to stand up for exactly what you believe in, even on something as small as a whim. I am… embarrassingly easy to persuade. But you, you do not hesitate to stand up for whatever it is that’s on your mind, regardless of what it may make people think of you.” Levi explained.
“Yeah, you’re a bit of a people pleaser. But I’d just say you're considerate. You’re likable. At least a little bit.” Ace said.
Ace and Levi giggled again, though quietly.
“I…” Ace’s voice trailed off. His smile faded. “It was about what happened between me and Nico.” Ace said.
“I see… It makes sense that such a memory would not fade fast.” Levi responded. “What did it feel like?” Levi asked suddenly. “The fuck?” Ace muttered in response. “Uh– I apologize- that must have been… rather insensitive.” Levi said, concerned for if he had upset Ace at such a vulnerable time.
“Yeah, that’s a pretty fucking strange question to ask.” Ace said sharply, “But I don’t mind. Just caught me off guard. I don’t really have the words to explain it outside of ‘painful.’” Ace stated with a shrug. “You can give me the words and… I’ll put them together for you.” Levi offered. Ace rolled his eyes and yet smiled a bit. It was oddly comforting of Levi. “It felt like even though I was dying, there wasn’t anything I could really think of. Like there wasn't even a real world anymore. Just this weird idea of what the world is based off of what got me where I was.” Ace did his best to explain as he looked at Levi. Levi put a hand to his chin as he thought.
“Mhm… So it felt as if instead of being inside looking out at the world, you were outside looking in?” Levi asked. “Something like that. That’s a… fine way of putting it.” Ace replied. “That was rather poetic.” Levi commented. Ace shrugged. “Sounds like metaphorical fuck-all to me, but you made it sound okay.” He said. “What had taken place really did scare you. I see that.” Levi murmured. “But that doesn’t make you weak. Not at all. In fact, you’re handling it far better than many people here could.” Levi encouraged slightly as a smile pricked at his face. Ace’s expression lightened. This is why Levi made him feel so… safe. It felt like Ace didn’t have to fight to be seen as worthy of love and safety. Like it was okay to be vulnerable. Levi still felt guilty for what he said. He imagined if what he had said to Ace had such a big impact on him as Nico’s attack had. Levi knew if it did, Ace would probably say something about it, but it still brought him great discomfort.
“You know… I am sorry for threatening you.” Levi suddenly brought up, his words uneasy. Ace bit his lip a little as he saw Levi’s pitiful expression. It was about time he told Levi. He had avoided saying the truth for so long because he was afraid of Levi lying to him– afraid that Levi was just pitying him when he claimed to want to be Ace’s friend. That Levi would stab him in the chest the moment he had the chance. But… if he really wanted to fix things with Levi… It would require being vulnerable. Ace was ready to risk that if it meant having Levi back. “It wasn’t ever about the threat, Levi.” Ace replied. Levi’s expression became a little shocked.
“Pardon?” Levi murmured in response.
“You… when you threatened me, you said… ‘If you are the coward I know you to be.’...” Ace began. The fact that Ace remembered what Levi said word-for-word did not help falter Levi’s guilt. “Tch– I thought that you didn’t think I was some idiotic coward like everyone else. I thought that you really wanted to be my friend. But that– it just made me feel like you were pitying me more than anything.” Ace’s expression looked genuinely sad, and that sent needles through Levi’s heart, “And… I just want to go fucking back.” Ace hissed. “To thinking that we really were friends–” Ace was cut off as Levi grasped Ace’s hand. “We are friends, Ace. I promise you that.” Levi said. Ace looked up at Levi.
“There is no justification for what I said. But I promise, I do not pity you. I genuinely enjoy your company. Nothing will change that.” Levi said firmly, in a very… comforting tone.
“I don’t want to be hurt again if it turns out that you’re lying… so you better not be fucking lying, Fontana!” Ace shouted. That was his way of accepting the apology, or something.
“Pardon if this is sudden, but I thought you didn’t care if people hated you?” Levi asked. Ace’s tsundere behavior was showing again. “I care about what you think. You…You’re my friend. Or whatever lovey-dovey bullshit. What I mean is if it’s some bum-fuck like Whit or Teruko then I don’t give a shit if they like me or not… But you… I care about what you think, as absolutely humiliating as it is to admit it.” Ace muttered and crossed his arms.
“Ace…” Levi began. And then he smiled. “I’m glad to be your friend. For I care about you too.” He said.
“I missed you.” Ace finally admitted before pulling Levi into a hug. Levi seemed surprised and became stiff at the touch. He never was the best when it came too understanding affection. “Geez, I feel like it’s been months since I slept alright… Can I stay with you tonight? You make me feel safe, as bullshit as it sounds, it is true.” Ace had no trouble admitting it now that he trusted Levi as he rested against his chest.
“Of course… If that is what you so desire, you may stay. I think I’d quite enjoy that as well.” Levi stated as he took out his phone behind Ace’s back as he rested against Levi’s chest. Levi sweat a bit as he desperately typed into google with one hand, his other hand patting Ace on the back, he typed ‘How to react to cute boy liking you’ into the search bar.
Eventually, the phone rested on the nightstand next to Levi’s bed. Levi and Ace laid in the bed beneath the covers. Levi held Ace in his arms, Ace slightly pressed up against Levi’s chest. Levi could feel Ace’s soft breathing as he was finally able to sleep soundly, at least a little. Levi too went to sleep with a soft, satisfied smile on his face.
Bonus:  *Ace and Levi leaving the room for breakfast* Whit: Oooo hey Ace, why were you coming out of Levi’s room this already in the morning… almost like you spent the night there or something Ace: SHUT THE FUCK UP
A/N - I feel like I am literally going to kick the bucket if I don’t get any Ace x Levi fluff pumped into my bloodstream this very second

THE LONG AWAITED SEQUEL
Tumblr media
was bored so drew the kids
Axel Fontana (LEVIACE) (10 yrs old) -Made him as a fankid way before this. Kind of a mellowed out version -The older one so he helps around and shit -Lowkey imagines his brothers exploding constantly -The one to get a nightmare emo phase -Likes motorcycles. Still cant ride a bicycle without dying
Dino Matthews (XANACE) (6 yrs old) -ADHD nightmare -Gets hurt all the time and its extremely clingy -Eats his own boogers -Despite his name, he thinks dinosaurs are stupid because they're dead -Bed wetter extraordinaire
David Chiem the II (ACEVID) (1 yr old) -Full name is David Alexander Dimitrius Alfonso the Second -Appropiately nicknamed "David Baby" -Kind of a psycopath ngl -This thing teleports around when no one's looking -First word was "Kill" second word was "Yourself"
These creatures are not bound to the "bad ending" timeline, they're just silly fankids so if for some bizarre reason someone wants to draw them. Dont worry. Ace doesn't need to get triple teamed.
Follow up for this thing

"hey guys I'm working on an 'Acevi' comic I might post it soon" they say, knowing damn good and well they were working on a Whace comic at same time and will finish it faster.
... so guys guess what (cut bc I talk a ton )
This isn't super serious! Or in character! About half way through I kinda went "Oh wait this is Whace. This is inherently goofy" and made it goofy. This takes place somewhere before the killing game, but Ace has his cooler hair bc I said so.
Anyway without further delay: here you go
woa look at all those drawings (some done months ago). This looks like a M.A.P (multi animator project not the illegal kind) with how much my artstyle shifts around
Bouns sketch panels I thought were funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly didn't keep the bite :// also it was all way more high energy in the sketch phase. "why do you live me" and "you're weird but in a funny" are iconic
Also the 1st (and only good) background on it's own bc I found it nice looking
Tumblr media
Idk why they have lockers in college.
Was thinking about waiting to release this bc I felt kinda shitty for teasing the. Kinda Acevi thing first. But whatever, I worked (kinda) hard, and I want people to see it.
The background audio is this piano cover of Creep by Radio Head
I elect to make Creep the official Whace song bc its so them fr. /... hj
