I am absolutely utterly obsessed with all of the women simultaneously realizing they now have to tell F.R.I.D.A. about fresh cut grass and all of the men simultaneously responding with some version of “uh, YEAH, where have you been???”
the way liam weaved the story of this circle together. we started looking for these bones, took a little detour to visit an old friend and discovered he was FUCKED and corrupted with some weird powder. then back to the bones and the discovery of the ancient sorceress they belong to, who ties BACK into their old friend and his circle and the powder, all of which lead them deep into the abyss. it all lead into that cavern, that vault, and depth. they had no choice but to end up there.
Finally finishing up the 3rd episode of Circle of the Crimson Mirror today and I gotta ask, had Liam been reading about the Chernobyl mushrooms before he ran this?
I haven't CR-posted in a while but I've finally finished the first campaign and I'm watching the wrap-up ep and this shot of them all, 3.5 hours into discussing the whole campaign and the possibilities and their characters' feelings and the body language between all of them and how relaxed and comfortable and reminiscent they all are, it just gave me a swell of emotion.
Here are some friends who have lived a lifetime together. The big finale has happened, the story has officially ended, but we've been granted one last chance to relive it all before moving on.
I finished my rewatch/relisten of the Vox Machina campaign in mid-December (although I recently re-embarked on the second half of the Chroma Conclave arc hoping season 3 of TLVOM will be announced (released?? 🤞) by the time I reach "A Bard's Lament"). Predictably, I bawled, AGAIN, but by then I'd already been scribbling and sketching ideas for this for... a couple of weeks? Hence the little WIP preview last month.
I'll never shut up about this moment. It's just as beautiful as it's heartbreaking, in- and off-game, especially taking into account all the context of characters/people involved.
Also, bonus, because after I finished sketching that 6th frame I thought a hug was needed.
