She's not listed on my carrd and I don't talk about her much because, y'know ... Project Moon brainrot, but her name is Aria and she's originally from Johto. I don't have a set team for her, but she's childhood friends with Morty and Eusine (though the latter relationship becomes romantic later on) and likes hunting for shiny Pokémon.

I had someone wanting to see my art a while ago ... I'd taken my sketchbook with me to dinner so I could work on some art I was doing for my birthday (platonic/familial ships at the time) and someone asked to look through it.

I said no, but then got called rude and like ... it's my personal sketchbook so I have the right to decline?

Like, I'm fine sharing my art, but not with someone who's an acquaintance and will ask more questions about the characters. It has to be on my terms.

Anyway ... yes. I had a mild panic moment and then felt bad ... but I stuck to my position. I know the feeling better than I'd care to admit.

You definitely have the right to decline someone to see your sketchbook, like I understand people being curious but to call you rude for it is ridiculous! It’s your stuff who are they to feel you owe them a look?

But yeah I know what you mean, which is why I usually just draw at home then take stuff with me because of this.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to spending the evening with you! I've drummed up a list of places we could go for dinner, and they all have at least one option that I know for sure I'll eat. Mind you, that's not to say I won't consider being a little adventurous!

Afterwards, how about we relive a bit of the honeymoon by doing some clothes shopping? If only because I found this cute little black dress last time I went browsing by myself, (you know the place), and I'm keen to see if you love it, too. I wonder if you'll find a set piece or two to dazzle me with in turn... It's about time we refreshed our wardrobes, methinks.

Don't worry about Nasrin and the dog; Thorani's agreed to babysit for us while we're out. Let's make sure we bring something back for our little rascals, okay? After all, you know what my philosophy is about Valentine's Day, so it's only fair that we show Rin and Nitya how much we love them, too.

How book lovers are called across Europe

In French, the word for “bookworm” is “rat de bibliothèque” (library rat). In German, it’s “Bücherwurm” (bookworm). In Italy, the most common way to describe a book lover is “topo di biblioteca,”  which is a library mouse. The same in Spain – “ratón de biblioteca” is nothing else but a library mouse.

Her first order of business was an introduction to her Sephira, Yesod. As far as initial impressions were concerned... Freya found him simultaneously intimidating and intriguing. As they spoke - fundamental formalities about her expected tasks - she felt his sharp gaze bore into her heart. A subtle warning, percase, to stay in line, lest she meet with a gruesome termination.

And yet, ever the idealist, she wondered if there was more to him than met the eye….

Summary: Lan Zhan had thought today would be like any other day working at the library. He had been working at this branch for nearly three years as the Youth Services Librarian, and he had his routine down to an art. From planning programs to culling books and replacing them with books more children would enjoy to holding animal therapy sessions with his Flemish Giant rabbit Tofu, he was as set in his routine as one could be working with the general public. Little did he know, however, his peace would soon be disrupted by none other than Tofu himself, who was usually a model employee. OR Lan Zhan is just trying to do his job, but his pet rabbit has other ideas - namely, finding himself and his baba a husband. Kay's comments: Ah, just the fluffiest meet-cute feat. librarian Lan Zhan and his flemish giant Tofu and avid reader Wei Ying and his liddol bunny Peanut Bunner. So cute! Excerpt: “Is there something I can help you with, Mr. Librarian?” the man asks, voice light and teasing. Lan Zhan shakes his head, opening his mouth to explain Tofu’s shenanigans, but as he raises his eyes to look the man in the face, he once again struck speechless. The man is beautiful, and he is cradling his tiny rabbit with both hands near his face as if he had just kissed the rabbit’s tiny, fluffy, head, and his smile is the sun and his eyes are the stars and oh no, Lan Zhan is being SO unprofessional right now. “Ahem,” Lan Zhan clears his throat, willing himself to act like a normal librarian, like a professional. “Tofu here,” he says as he gestures to the rabbit snoozing atop his Oxfords, “suddenly leapt away from the reference desk, and I was looking for him when I saw the lid of your cup move. I am sorry I startled you.”

The power of books

I used to volunteer at the elementary school library reshelving books and other simple chores, because the librarian was supposed to be handling three different jobs and I enjoyed helping him out. Also enjoyed being there, in the library, when my kids' classes got their library period. It was fun all around, but there were some unforgettable moments.

Such as the time when Mr. F decided to read the kids a nonfiction book about wolf snails. He taught them that a 'radula' was a tongue with sharp teeth on it, and the snails would scrape their prey to eat them. Never has a librarian more fully commanded the attention of an entire fifth-grade class.

Also the time the third grade teacher, Mr T, had something important he wanted to tell me about a situation on my son's bus. However, Mr T, a massive man with a booming voice, was unable to whisper. While library class was going on, and I was standing at the reshelving cart, Mr. T was LOOMING over me trying to whisper but only managing to yell a little less loud than normal. He spilled the tea, all right. I felt lucky that we weren't asked to leave.

Good times, good times. I will never forget the word 'radula', that's for sure. I wince every time I see it.
