Sneak peek from my post-canon Bingqiu fic, written for the @svsssbigbang in collaboration with the absolutely fantastic @sintiadaria and @vebokki whose wonderful art I cannot wait for you to see! It couldn't complement the story more beautifully. I’m also endlessly grateful to my beta readers @lieutenantruby and @sun-turner for their invaluable feedback!

A story of healing, where love grows not despite their struggles, but because of them.

Excerpt from 'Helpless is the Heart' by matsinko

Binghe lifts his head, meeting his shizun’s gaze again. That small, gentle smile has returned, and it pulls at something raw and aching in Binghe’s chest. He wants to say something, anything—but the words stick in his throat. He feels pathetic, facing this man who means everything to him, and yet all he knows is that he does not deserve him, not like that.

Instead, he reaches out, his hand brushing lightly against Shen Qingqiu’s as if anchoring himself. One touch—selfishly, he’ll allow himself as much. He’s not sure what he’s holding onto—this moment, this fragile peace, this man who is everything he’s ever wanted.

Shen Qingqiu follows the movement, gaze sinking into where their hands meet. He does not scold Binghe, nor does he pull away. Instead, he asks, “Do you not trust this master, Binghe?”

The words are a well-calculated question, gentle but pointed. Shen Qingqiu knows how to press where it counts—not out of cruelty but to elicit the answer he wants. He’s always been like this, and Luo Binghe would always follow. He stiffens now, feeling affronted despite himself.

“There’s nobody that I trust more, Shizun,” Binghe replies quietly, though the tension in his voice betrays his turmoil. His fingers curl slightly, brushing against Shen Qingqiu’s again. How can he even begin to express his fears?

When someone commissions me, I absolutely love getting a rough sketch/doodle of their concept—it makes the first steps of an illustration (composition/posing) so much easier.

I'll never ever judge a client for a messy sketch!! (And also, no pressure to send something like this if you'd like the artist to take the creative reins on your piece.)

Decided to do dragon's breath opal! I might do honeycomb / snakeskin too at some point. Anyways for opal your best friend is the Glow Dodge color layer

fjghfgjf fun fact i am,, legit terrified of aliens. i get dreams abt em sometimes and they’re probably,, one of my least favourite dream topics. honestly i probably would NOT get very far in an alien invasion. padpayellow for the shipping meme?

falls asleep on the couch: we all know padparadscha is very prone to falling asleep most anywhere, at any given time. Imagine yellow covering them with a blanket when it happens

makes friends with the neighbors: paddy is a master of small talk but both of them like to exchange a word or two with the neighbors from time to time

is the adventurous eater: padpa. yellow prefers traditional food

hogs the covers at night: yellow, padpa teases them because old people are frail and need to cover themselves well or they’ll catch a cold. yellow usually flips them off and keeps stealing the blankets

forgets to do the dishes: both of them, yellow more often than paddy, but both of them are liable of this. kudos for padparadscha inventing new ways of eating and cooking out of the food packages so as not to use any dishes. yellow draws the line at covering the plate in tinfoil

tries to surprise their partner more often: padpa is very good at surprising yellow, but it’s a natural gift, they’re not really trying. so yellow puts in extra effort to reciprocate. it would help if paddy weren’t so curious 

leaves dirty laundry on the floor: yellow diamond, but for the simple reason that padpa doesn’t wear a lot of clothes. forcing them to stop hanging around town barechested was already a success, but it only lasts until spring comes around  

stays up til 2 AM reading: yellow diamond, they have a hard time falling asleep. padpa will fall asleep on the couch or curled up on yellow and yellow will keep on reading or watching a movie

sings in the shower: padparadscha, yellow chimes in if they’re around. they both like country music, rip neighbors

takes the selfies: neither of them, what’s this technology you’re talking about? phos takes them for the two old pals

plans date night: padparadscha. yellow will forget about anything

supreme lore tldr in case you want it still: the goddess of the moon used to have a younger sister who was the goddess of mystery but she got unmade and her name erased from existence. Everything associated with her was turned into something else and she ceased to exist. The crown of the nightmare king can anchor a being into the material plane so thats why she wants it probably
