Today, my mom and I had an argument about my license and school. She thinks I'm not trying, but I feel like I'm giving it my all. I've sought advice from friends and tips from other adults, but talking to her always ends in an argument or me crying and getting frustrated. She accuses me of playing the victim, but it feels like she’s not validating my feelings and sees me as just a disappointment and a crybaby.

We had a conversation before this where I asked her to acknowledge that I’m trying my best, to encourage and empower me, and to stop belittling me. The reason I got so upset today was because I realized she didn’t take that conversation seriously. I just wanted to be happy before my birthday, but now I don't even want to celebrate. I just want to be alone and sleep through it.

She knew I wanted good vibes but completely ruined it, turning every good moment into a lecture. At this point, I’m done caring
