Siberian Ice Maiden Tattoo (5th century BCE) / "Transi de René de Chalon (Cadaver Tomb of René of Chalon)" (c. 1545-1547 - Ligier Richier)
SIBERIAN ICE MAIDEN TATTOO: I used to doodle flower antlered deer in my math homework long before I knew about this piece of history, and it makes me crazy that people have always been fundamentally people. (anonymous)
TRANSI DE RENÉ DE CHALON (CADAVER TOMB OF RENÉ OF CHALON): [no additional commentary] (@rhytons)
(The tattoo belongs to the Siberian Ice Maiden, a mummy found in 1993 in the Ukok Plateau. She is currently placed in a special mausoleum in the Republican National Museum, and further excavations have been banned in the area she was found in, but there is debate on whether the effects of climate change may destroy any remaining tombs. Some more information can be found here.
The "Transi de René de Chalon (Cadaver Tomb of René of Chalon)" is a sculpture done in limestone with black marble by Ligier Richier. The sculpture is approximately lifesized and is visible at the Church of Saint-Étienne at Bar-le-Duc.)

Transi de René de Chalon by Ligier Richier
This transi has become one of my ‘milestone subjects,’ I tend to take a stab at it after a year or so has passed and usually find myself pleased with the progress I’m making as an artist. I also appreciate the fact it’s helping me figure out which brush settings in procreate work with me rather than against me.

Hey Angel! This is probably a very random question, but I'm curious. You seem to have a very contrasting aesthetic, with one side being cutesy children's books illustrations, and the other being really dark musical artists, paintings and poetry. So, I'm wondering: which of those do you enjoy more? Do you have a favorite artist or painting?
hello !! this is an interesting question :O i guess i enjoy the balance ? i lean more towards the creepy stuff and my heavy music and dark themes and visuals, but i'm not always in the mood for all that so sometimes i like to look at really soft and comforting stuff instead ^-^
for theme purposes, i also chose my cute mouse illustrations because i want people to have cute stuff to look at while they visit my profile and stuff :D
as for favourite artists,,, i assume you mean the visual arts kind (?). in which case it's francisco de goya (entirely predictable, but i did a very extensive school project on him once and he's really cool), van gogh (really pretty stuff), and basically everyone from the renaissance. also ligier richier, when it comes to sculptures :]
(in the event that you meant musical artist, then it's sleep token and cradle of filth :D )
thanks again for the cool question !! have a great day or night !!

Among the main works of the French sculptor Ligier Richier - born in Saint-Mihiel on 15 September 1500 - we find the tomb of René de Chalon, Prince of Orange, in the church of Saint-Etienne in Bar-le-Duc, where you can see the statue of a skeleton who, with his arm raised, offers his heart. 🫀
This sculpture - from the raw anatomical realism that reveals, together with the bones, shreds of flesh and skin - and others similar deriving from his workshop refer to the macabre taste typical of the Gothic tradition of northern Europe, represented, among others, in painting by contemporary Hans Baldung Grien. ✨✨✨✨

"Transi de René de Chalon (Cadaver Tomb of René of Chalon)" (c. 1545-1547 - Ligier Richier) / "Head of Christ" (c. 1495 - Leonardo da Vinci)
TRANSI DE RENÉ DE CHALON (CADAVER TOMB OF RENÉ OF CHALON): [no additional commentary] (@rhytons)
HEAD OF CHRIST: I went to watch this documentary about his art throughout his life, in a cinema, and despite all the sketches and paintings presented, that's the image that struck me when I saw it, that made me truly wonder for a moment, and understand a little more the beauty of people, the aesthetism of the male form, the care an artist can put in replicating this beauty. there is such gentleness in the traits of christ and man it makes me wanna cry.
