there's this hilarious phenomenon on the dota 2 subreddit rn where like. whenever valve initially introduced more brutal behavior score punishments, reddit was overjoyed. many threads about how their games were so much better, teammates were more positive, etc. flash forward to now and there's constantly reddit threads like "IT TAKES TOO LONG TO GET YOUR BEHAVIOR SCORE BACK!!! I have to play so many games while being a good boy to raise my behavior score and it's AWFUL :'(" like have you considered not being a cunt in an online video game? maybe that would help

i've noticed a bit of discourse over the span of me being back here about peer recognition &what that does to a person's mental on socials.
idk if it's because of my inactivity or because i've just been on tumblr for 10+ years but it really puzzles me when i see someone fretting over the amount of notes and/or social engagement their posts seem to lack. of course we as humans love peer recognition &validation but i'd hate to think that's all some people care to focus on when it comes to their blogs.
i think we all should be posting whatever we want without trying to calculate how many notes we'll receive on any one single post because that's setting yourself up for disappointment. if you're a simblr.. i'd like to assume you came here because you enjoy playing your game, creating content or using it as a creative outlet to express your form of individuality.. the notes in this case should sort of act as a bonus.
people have lost their heads.. ranting in txt posts about their content "flopping" or feeling like they don't belong here.. &it's just like.. take a deep breath.. it's okay.. you'll survive. also idk what flopping is when it comes to simblr, because.. if i get anywhere between 10-100 notes from loyal followers that have engaged with me from day 1, can recognize my OCs &are genuinely paying attention to what's going on (because they care that much).. that's a hell of a lot more rewarding to me than amassing 500-1k notes because a popular simblr randomly decided to reblog me that day.
please learn to love your game, your blogs, your cc & yourself. because what's the point of notes if you're not even genuinely happy with your game in the first place? you'll continue to have unrealistic expectations &end up in that rabbithole of forcing yourself to do tzrs, spam liking &reblogging others just to get that in return &trust me it comes off super fake &people will notice that too.

Today, I saw an Instagram reel complaining about how fanfic authors apologize for late updates in the notes of their stories and that readers “don’t want to hear it,” they just want the fic to be updated and there are a ton of comments like this one in agreement
and frankly, as a fanfic writer, I just have to say this kind of attitude is really consistently disappointing and frequently makes me not want to write for fandom anymore. I don’t know how many times we as creators have to tell readers that you are not entitled to our work before y’all comprehend that. Fanfic is a privilege, not a commodity.
Readers need to learn how to be aware that there’s a real person with a real life writing and sharing this work. And you complaining that you had to “beg” for an update is not the time-consuming difficulty you think it is in comparison to how long it takes a creator to actually make something. We don’t just shit out content when it fits our fancy.
Fanfic is something people do for free with their own valuable time. We are not machines just cranking out random half-assed works. We come up with ideas, we plan, and we spend God knows how many hours and days actually creating our content because it’s something that we enjoy doing, and are excited to share with others, not something we feel an obligation to create for you. And the second that readers start acting like they’re entitled to our work is when it stops being fun.
In short, please just learn how to be respectful and kind to creators and understand that we literally owe you jackshit and if you treat us with this kind of attitude, we will stop making content for you because you simply do not deserve it.
TL;DR: if you act like fanfic authors don’t have lives outside of fic, you’re a cunt, and we deserve better.

congratulations!! you most deserve it!!
ooh a baby blurb about riding mean!eddie while he’s smoking 🚬
BABE sorry for taking so long to get this out, it literally got lost in my inbox 😭 cw smut, daddy kink, smoking
"Eddie!" you whined, gripping his shoulders tightly as you rolled your hips down onto him. "Eddie—"
"S'that all that's in your dumb little head?" Eddie asked with a smile, a wolf's grin as he grabbed hard at your hips with one hand. His other hand was occupied, a lit cigarette, and Eddie slotted it in his mouth and drew in a dragging breath. He worked you on top of him, controlling your pace, and you bit your lip hard. He was going too slow, it wasn't enough for you; you were so close to your release, and his teasing slowness was unbearable. "Just me? Just your daddy?"
"Daddy, please," you whimpered, and he blew out a mouthful of smoke into your face. "I'm so close, Daddy! Please, just a little faster."
"I don't wanna go faster," Eddie said plainly, cigarette hanging in the corner of his mouth. "I'm perfectly happy with this."
A whine left your throat as you tried to work against his strong grip, moving faster or harder or any way to cum, and he finally dropped his hands from your waist with a sigh. "Go on, make yourself cum," he told you, and he bucked his hips up into you. "Make yourself cum, slut, if you're so fuckin' desperate for it."

one thing i really like about qbad as a character is how aware he is of certain consequences. if you murder someone, their family will be sad. if they have a cat or a dog, that cat or dog will starve without them there to feed them. there will be little ripples, little bits of horror that spread out from this one event, and he knows this. but it doesn't matter to him. it does not matter unless it's happening to someone he cares about, and that is fascinating. he doesn't hide away or excuse his actions or doubt himself- if someone needs to die, they need to die, and that's that. such a shame for the family but at least they get first dibs on the meat. he knows, explicitly, what pain is caused when people die, and he acknowledges it, and it doesn't tie in to his decision making at ALL. it's like chopping down a tree, to him. if you need fuel for a fire, the tree has to die. if the tree is in your way, it needs to be removed. that's all there is to it

So remember when I said I would post the first chapter of Get Babied Idiots in a couple of days? Yeah, no, I lied.
Summary:
A seemingly ordinary mission leaves Mikey the as oldest, his brothers magically turned into babies. Now he has to figure out how to turn them back with the help of an unlikely 'ally', Baron Draxum.
Inspired loosely by the cut episode plotline where all the turtles get turned into toddlers except Mikey. Set during Season One.
