I haven't logged onto HypMic in like a month, so when I did I was shocked to see Ramuda 😭😭 absolutely had to get him. Took like an hour of auto songs + boost items and lvl up tickets. But he's finally home (and I can't even evolve him help.)

However with the lvl up things from the gacha, I was able to finally evolve this adorable Doppo card.

Aaaa I love them both sm!! :D I like the free event ssrs, especially when they're my favorite characters bc then I don't have to worry about not getting them. I can just do whatever while auto plays in the background.

Also! Hopefully everyone has a nice day! Might post something later tonight if I can finish it.

the thing is im kind of just conflicted now bc i did but also didn't care about getting the card... like happy birthday sunshine but i only care about gacha/nightmare cards if they're a rarity and sin type i need... i kinda wanted his card in swd bc i need more red cards (even if i already use a card of him), but i gave up bc the gacha wasn't being nice to me </3 BUT I GOT HIM IN NIGHTBRINGER. WHERE I DONT REALLY NEED ANOTHER YELLOW ONE. OK. I GUESS :/

idk i just feel weird bc this is like the first time i've pulled on the gacha for something other than gameplay. i've never cared about devilgrams aside from this one... guess im whipped for this geezer lmao

Hot take but as someone whose made bad life decisions by playing video games:

Genshin isn't bad. It's a solid gacha game all things considered. It's got good lore and some really nice designs.

It's just the Internet punching bag now because League has been shooting itself in the foot for the past two/three years. Since League has been dying rapidly since all the players have left it because it's become so hostile to any player not esports, the burden of "Hurr Durr Bad Game" has fallen to the next highly popular one--Genshin.

I play(ed) League too until again, they just ruined it for casuals. League also has a fantastic lore to it. Don't you holier than thou little shits go and say you loved Arcane and then call League lore garbage. It didn't come from nowhere.

Idk I'm just seeing a trend with how League was treated back in the day vs how Genshin is treated now and outside the playerbase, neither game is necessarily bad and its not a waste of time playing them.

Conclusion: Game Not Bad Cause People Are Dipshits

#league only really has toxic or hardcore people now which sucks #i stopped a week after i got the super hot sett skin and havent really looked back #it just doesnt have a pull anymore and the new season trailer didnt help #leagues lore is fantastic and genshins lore is also super fun #like dont call every aspect of the games shit cause theyre clearly not?#idk its just been something thats been irking me esp in the gacha sphere #if i had a dollar for everytime an arknights player called genshin bad id be rich #arknights is still a gacha ya dweebs dont think youre better #we're all in gacha hell its just a matter what RING of gacha hell we're in #genshin impact #league of legends #im tagging both of those cause this is my means to blazing the post as a broke ass ho

my phone got fixed exclusively to get my proseka account back (and some files) and my girl miku is DROPPING MY IMPUTS. we have moved on to persuasive speeches in comm class n bc we have so little time left in the semester they're gonna be partner debates, so i have grouped up with the guy in there with whom i started talking abt genshin a while back, n we're just like. "fuck it. let's just do the ethics of gacha games and whether they should be regulated like gambling in casinos"

#which is a very broad topic n i know we're not gonna touch on everything in the ten minutes we'll be allotted #so in my head i'm like running through the arguments you always see online #n it's fun to discuss too bc since we're both familiar w/gacha culture those aspects also feel like important things to discuss as well #bc like. on paper you can present gacha games as harmless bc you ''don't have'' to spend money on it if you have the self-restraint #and there Are kids who grew up playing these things who learned restraint along the way #n are able to engage w/these kinds of things with healthy boundaries n limits n stuff #n like kids Shouldn't be playing gacha games; many people say that the target audience of gacha games are kids but that's like.#that's literally not true. the target audience of gacha games are the whales who are all adults.#just bc they often attract the attention of kids as a side thing doesn't mean they're necessarily Made for them #but that doesn't negate the fact that hey! there ARE a lot of kids who can someday be harmed by this *as collateral*#and just bc they're not the target audience doesn't mean it's okay to just ignore them bc there are so many #(also the fact that gacha ecosystems revolve around balancing the needs of whales n f2p complicates this further)#(in order to keep the whales happy you have to keep your f2p around or else there's no one for the whales to flex on)#(so in a sense f2p are kind of like live bait to keep whales around)#(it doesn't matter who or what the f2p/low spenders are; as long as you have bottom feeders around to make up majority of players)#n since kids tend to have a lot of passion and spare time they often get pulled into games like gnshn which can unlock gambling addictions #since there's basically not a lot of oversight it's really easy for them to fall into bad patterns just bc of gacha culture n stuff #anyway since we have similar views we're both chill with taking either side of this debate presentation #i think we're both of the opinion that there is Something that has to be done but we're sympathetic to the people who disagree #simply bc we've both experienced this shit From The Inside #花話

I think they killed mine bc it was unprofitable (it was so so so ineffective to put real money into <3<3<3) and unpopular, but they really should've considered that i, the most important bird in the world, enjoyed it. Or some other reason that i could probably google *shrug

Duuuuude, I played Record Keeper for a bit when it was new!!!!! I heard it was just the global version that shut down but the JP version is still going, so yeah, global probably just wasn't making enough money to be worth running. So, ya know. RK's still kinda alive but ToC is dead and buried. Lmao, not to diminish the RK situation cuz I'm sure restarting on JP would just absolutely not be worth the hassle so definitely still kind of a Lost Lenore.

I kinda wish Opera Omnia would consider adding characters from the other FF mobile games cuz there's untapped potential there. Like add Tyro at least for RK rep. And Wol from Mobius FF, which I also miss a lot!!!! I don't want Mobius to ever be forgotten. Plus the BE crew, but that's the only one that's shockingly still going strong. Meanwhile Square's adding TikTok influencers to Be:WotV, so :/

Man this sent me down a rabbit hole of other Square mobile games. I played both Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin and Star Ocean: Anamnesis without knowing anything about the original series but I loved those games and they didn't really last longer than 2-3 years. Plus the global server for SINoALICE either shutdown within the last week or is shutting down real soon. Even the JP server is being rumored to shut down relatively soon, but idk if that's willingly or not cuz they're supposedly taking their time to wrap up the story at least.

Both Square and Bamco just seem so bad at keeping most of their gachas alive. And years of constantly having good gachas I like getting shutting down has really given me a fear for all of them that I play. I genuinely don't believe Ever Crisis is gonna last more than a year and everyday I play Star Rail I'm afraid it's suddenly gonna bomb suddenly and get shut down. Tho Hoyoverse seems real good about that not happening with their games, but still when I see people say HSR is dipping it makes me a little paranoid and I gotta remind myself they just got bored and wanna find a reason to justify it.

Like honestly, I know mobile games get a lot of shit for how many of them are low quality and the massive amount of gachas that want your money from your gambling addiction, but I love the genre so much. I've found so many good games that are gachas and it sucks that the state/economy/whatever of the genre is so so fragile that the slightest dip in sales means it's existence has to be ripped out of the universe regardless of how good it may be. It's not like they stop selling it but you still have your copy like it's a console game or you can just emulate it once it closes. When it's gone, it's gone. People can record cutscenes and rip models and assets, but you can never play it again. At least thank god for those one-in-a-million games that leave up offline versions when they shutdown, but in all my life of mobile gaming I've only seen two, KHUX and Tokimeki Idol.

Anyway sorry to ramble on about the topic, I'm just feeling mega sad now about it all and I don't know what could possibly be done to like, make the mobile game scene better? At least about this issue. But I doubt anything ever would be done in terms of not losing games forever anyway.
