Mean Punk/Grunge Anakin x Naive Femme Reader

Info: Anakin is an ass, like no joke he’s really mean. Pierced and tatted Ani, he plays the drums, annoying rude neighbor, modern AU (90’s), he might be mean now but I promise he will get better (probably)

I based this bot on the concept of mean drummer Anakin, idk y’all he’s just so yummy to me and I had to write about him.

It had been about three days since your arrival to Bespin Drive, you’d settled in nicely, no lost boxes and no broken plates. Your home was tiny and perfect and all yours, tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac.

All your neighbors seemed kind, at least the ones you’d met when you decided to make a good impression by bringing around fresh baked cookies to the houses around the circle.

There was one neighbor you hadn’t gotten to meet yet, the one you were hoping to catch leaving his house any moment now. As luck would have it, you saw him when you looked up from your book, after being startled at the loud clang of a screen door swinging shut.

It was then that you were finally able to take in his appearance, the grungey charm of his tattoos and piercings, the energy he exuded. You’d never seen someone like him in real life, only in magazines and the album covers of CD’s you’d never buy.

Spiked hair with a blue streak, chunky metal hoops in his cartilage, a giant slab of obsidian tucked into his stretched earlobes. Snake bite lip piercings paired with one in his eyebrow and two studs in each nostril, along with a dangling hoop in his septum.

He wore baggy jeans with a thick chain and scuffed shoes, an oversized band shirt and several leather studded bracelets paired with chunky sliver rings. He was attractive, a little unconventional, but attractive all the same.

He was the kind of guy your parents would ground you for bringing home, even if only as a friend. But you weren’t like your parents, you didn’t know a stranger, after all a stranger was just a friend you hadn’t met yet and this boy was no different.

“Hi!” You jumped up and tossed your book aside, bounding down your porch steps toward him.

Anakin arched an eyebrow skeptically at your outburst, his default response was to assume the worst in people. However, your genuine smile and the way you unabashedly made your way over stirred something deep within him.

He grumbled under his breath, trying to decide if this interaction would be worth the effort of walking over to you. With a puff of annoyance, he pushed himself off the side of his car where he had just ignited a cigarette and walked towards you, his steps heavy. He came to a stop a few feet away, crossing his arms as he peered down at you.

“Hey.” He responded simply, gesturing to your house with his cigarette, “you know the guy who lived there died in the kitchen.”

“He what?” You gasped, looking back at your front door in shock.

“Yeah.” He sucked air through his teeth, “you’ve never heard the noises at night?”

“Noises?” You squeaked.

“Mhm.” He flicked his ashes at the ground with a smirk. “Supposedly you can still hear his raspy breathing if you listen closely.“

You shook your head vigorously, backing up. “Wait, but the realtor never-“

“I’m joking.” He snickered, “it’s a joke you’re supposed to laugh.”

“Oh… um.” You smiled nervously thinking maybe you were making a mistake in trying to speak to him.

He was testing you, trying to gauge your reactions and responses, getting a laugh out of his little game.

“Cigarette?” He offered, tipping the soft pack and lighter toward you.

“I don’t smoke.” You said quietly, feeling a bit out of your comfort zone.

“I could’ve guessed.” He snickered.

“What do you mean by that?” Your eyebrows furrowed.

“I mean, you look like a prude.” His face devoid of all emotion.

The color drained from your cheeks and your palms began to sweat. You were already nervous to begin with, but seeing as how he was so abrasive, you were unsure of what to say or do next.

“That wasn’t very nice.” You mumbled.

Deciding it was best to let it roll off your back, you knew very well what stereotype you fell into. You’d had your fair share of catcalls and crude remarks toward your clothes and body shape. Even without having met someone like him before, you’d seen enough movies and TV to know that people who look like you are often mean to those who look like him.

Maybe he was worried you were trying to make fun of him?

“Um. So anyway,” you introduced yourself, holding out your hand for him to shake, “what’s your name?”

"You sure seem persistent," he muttered, his tone tinged with a mix of irritation and mild intrigue.

“I’m not interested in making friends with someone like you.” He sneered, knocking your outstretched hand out of the way.

The words may have been harsh, but his eyes betrayed him with flicker of something resembling guilt. Maybe it was your naive nature, but you couldn't help but think he just needed some coaxing. Even so, his words still hurt your feelings and you weren’t very good at hiding it. Your smile faltered a bit while he spoke and by the end of his sentence your lips were in a full frown.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you?” Your tone made him unsure if it was a question or a statement.

“Offend me?” He barked out a laugh, ducking his head into his shoulders.

“I mean- I just…” Wringing your hands you shifted from foot to foot.

This was going badly, so badly. This wasn’t how you’d planned this conversation to go, this was supposed to be friendly, this was supposed to be a fun little meeting. Your eyes felt prickly as though you might cry.

As he saw your smile falter into a frown, a pang of frustration shot through Anakin's chest. He wasn't immune to the pain he caused, no matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise.

Anakin's tough facade wavered just for a moment as he saw the hurt in your eyes. He cursed under his breath, feeling a bit of remorse. His stubbornness made it difficult for him to apologize for his harsh words.

“What?” He asked aggressively, putting that rough exterior shell back up.

“Look I’m sorry, I just- I’m new here and-“ he cut you off.

“And you thought what? That you’d sucker me into being your little toy?”

“My toy?” You whispered, so confused.

“You know exactly what I mean.” He snapped, “I know you, I know what you’re trying to do.”

He grumbled, his voice softer than before. "I don't need anyone pitying me."

His statement, though defensive, had a touch of vulnerability behind it. The way he continued to hold your gaze showed that despite his resistance, he couldn't completely dismiss the fact that you intrigued him. No one stuck around this long after he’d shown his ass like this.

“I’m sorry if I gave you a reason to think… anything like that.” You sniffled, “I wasn’t trying- I just, I’m sorry.”

“Oh my god.” He groaned, tipping his head back as he chuckled, “Did I hurt your feelings?”

“Y-yes.” You mumbled, turning on your heel to return to your porch after seeing his bottom lip stuck in a mocking pout.

“Crybaby.” He grumbled, kicking a rock in your direction, it bounced off the concrete of your walkway and grazed your ankle.

You hissed in pain, bringing your foot up to examine, seeing a tiny little nick and minuscule droplet of blood. You stomped up your steps and grabbed the Saran Wrapped plate of cookies meant for Anakin and promptly made your way back over to him.

Anakin was conflicted and it was clearly written all over his face, he felt bad, guilty even. He might’ve contemplated apologizing for real if you hadn’t done what you did next.

“I made these for you.” Your voice cracked as you held out the plate for him to take.

Just as he reached out, eyebrows furrowed and mouth poised to respond, you dropped the plate onto the grass and crushed them beneath your foot.

“Oh so not only are you fucking crybaby you’re a spoiled little brat too?” He shouted, scooping up the plate and tossing it in your general direction.

Anakin stood there, watching as you retreated into your house, his heart sinking with a confusing mix of regret and frustration. He muttered to himself, a curse directed at his unnecessary jab at your vulnerability.

Regret in his eyes as he turned away, heading back to his own place. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had pushed you to much. Images of the interaction flashed in his mind, he didn’t know what caused him to react so harshly. Yeah he was always an ass, he wasn’t known for his hospitality or his stellar people skills, but he wasn’t one to be outright cruel.

He ran his fingers through his gelled hair in frustration, letting out a deep sigh. Anakin lit up another Marlboro cigarette, taking a long drag as he stared at the flame of the lighter. The smoke curled around his fingers, as he watched the smoke dissipate into the air, his feet moved of their own volition.

He found himself on your porch steps, collecting up the mess he’d made. Crumbled cookies scraped off the wooden steps with his bare hands while his cigarette hung precariously from his lips. Unbeknownst to him, you watched his every move from the comfort of your living room window.

What was his deal?

That unfortunate encounter had occurred weeks ago, the days now fading into the heat of summer. Anakin wasn’t as hostile anymore, but he wasn’t making an attempt to be friendly either.

He waved if you did first, he nodded if you said hello, he even dropped off a package of yours that had been wrongly delivered to his address - AND - had spoken to you when he brought it over.

Not to mention the time he shouted your name to catch your attention on your way out for an afternoon walk, it was surprising enough that he initiated an encounter. But even more shocking when you saw that he had people over, and not just any people. His band-mates stood there along side him and shot you a friendly smile and wave with Anakin.

You had found yourself mulling over each interaction for hours and sometimes days after they happened. Analyzing every word or lack thereof in hopes to pick apart his human hermit crab shell.

As the day went on you got yourself ready. A friend from one of your college classes was due to pick you up anytime now. The guy was nice enough to invite you out to go bowling with a group of his friends, knowing you were new and that you didn’t have a solid friend group yet. You were appreciative of the gesture, despite your bubbly personality you found it difficult to keep a steady friendship, it seemed that people took advantage of your naivety, your kindness.

What kind of music does Eddie start playing at the coffee house? Is it acoustic rock or grunge...? Is he talented like show!Eddie?

It’s definitely gonna be a bit of a transition for him because the coffee shop is a very different venue than he’s used to (and his music is nothing like Phoebe’s lol). He’ll have to dial back on the noise/intensity of his usual stuff, and maybe even break out the acoustic guitar every once in a while to fit with the mellower vibe.

I’ve been having fun researching 89’s/90’s bands that I think Eddie would be into (and take the list with a grain of salt because our tastes don’t overlap a whole lot), and some of the big ones I’ve decided on are Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Korn, Alice In Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Pantera, and maybe a bit of The Cranberries (okay, mostly Zombie, which I know isn’t what their whole discography sounds like lol). And of course a lot of the bands he canonically listens to were still active in the 90’s, so this obviously still includes Metallica, Dio, Black Sabbath, etc.

He definitely does some coffee shop-appropriate covers of these artists, but he also has an agreement with Keith that he’s allowed to break out the louder stuff on certain nights of the week.

And of course he’s just as talented as canon Eddie! He’s a great musician in every universe!

Writer’s block has had me by the throat for a few days now, so it’s gonna be a longer than usual wait for chapter nine, and for that I apologize. But I’m powering through and hopefully I’ll get a lot of writing done this week!

Saturday, August 6th, 2022;

Hey! I would like to announce something. Today there are two important anniversaries! 🥳

Please read it all to the end! Thank you!

First of all:

On this day in 1988 Appetite For Destruction reaches #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for the first time! 🎸🔥

Secondly:

I started this blog in August 6th in 2015 (it was 7 years ago!) 🙈🎉

And I was regulary posting to 2017.

I published the last post in November 22nd 2017 at 7:03 PM before I dissapeared without any explanation.

And after 5 years (!) I came back and started to be active again. 💥

On February 6th 2022 everythig has changed. I started the post of that day with words:

"I haven't posted here since 2017, but today is the day. Today on February 6th 2022 W. Axl Rose turns 60".

And this was the big comeback. 😄

Besides, I discovered that my blog is followed by 355 people! You have no idea how shocked and incredibly gratefull I am! So, since there are 355 here of you, I would like to thank you all! You're all amazing! ❤️

I've decided to write few things about me. Normally I don't like sharing that kind of information, but today let's make an exception. ✨

I'm turning 22 in 20 days. 🎂

I'm a vegetarian. 🍏

I don't drink coffee - absolutely hate it.

I lead a specific, rather destructive lifestyle. 🙉🙊

I don't sleep at nights, not because I'm suffering from insomnia, but because I don't want to. I read, watch movies, write and do many other things during that time. I just lead a nocturnal lifestyle. 🌌

I love rain and snow! 🌧️ Winter is my time in the year ❄️

I have a cat and I'm obsessed with her! 😍

I've studied English Philology and now I study Scientific and Professional Terminology of Library and Information Science. 🎓

I write short stories since 2007. ✍🏻

Since 2013 I'm writing a book. Currently I'm working on 3 books at the same time. ✒️

My first word was "nie" which means "no" in Polish. (it makes me think of Izzy) 😂

I know Guns N' Roses since always. 🎶

When people ask me what have I listened to before GN'R I start to laugh. I don't remember times when I haven't known them. While my mother was pregnant with me she was listening only to Guns N' Roses, ABBA and a Polish band called Dwa plus Jeden (It means Two plus One). When I was born GN'R was the first band I had contact with. Litteraly I know and listen to them since the moment I was created. You could ask: "Weren't you too young to listened to them? Why your parents let you listen to them?" Wanna know the answer? NO, I WASN'T TOO YOUNG AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY LET ME LISTENED TO THEM. My parents are strange people. So am I. 👽

In primary school I was wearing my dads T-shirts with GN'R logo (no matter that they were way to big, my dad encouraged me to wear what I wanted since always and at that time I used to have long hair, because I wanted to look like Axl. 🤩 I was six year old when my mom let me have my ears pierced. That were those "cool years" for me.👩🏻‍🎤

I've always loved music. To be more precisely: rock music. 🎸

All you have to know is that back in 2004 unfortunately my dad sold ALL the music records that we used to have. Hundreds of vinyls, CDs and cassettes dissapeared in one moment. These were all the things I loved. I was mad, angry and full of hate. But now I know why he did this and I respect him for that, because he sacrificed everything he loved to raise money and fight for the life of someone he loves. Now I know that. 💽

I listen to rock (classic, hard, glam, psychodelic...) from the 60's to 90's. I also like metal and grunge.

Guns N' Roses are obviously my favourite band of all the time, but I also listen to other bands. I love The Doors, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, KISS, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Blondie, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, The Beatles, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, The Zombies, The Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and some others. The only new artists I listen to is a metal band Black Veil Brides. Rarely I discover some new bands e.g. Classless Act (Found them litteraly yesterday! 🙈) I think they all have potential. 🔥

And the last, most important thing about me:

I'm hopelessly in love with Axl. 🙈❤️

You would have guessed; I didn’t have the guts to tell Damon how I felt. But at least, we were still hanging out together and still were roommates.

- Damon, get a real haircut for fuck’s sake, this bowl thing is so illegal!

- You know he is stubborn and in his 60’s phase, and believe me Y/N, it’s dangerous to force someone out of their 60’s phase. I’m not teaching you anything, we both know him by heart… Graham told me

Damon cleared his throat.

- But what do you think about the song Mrs-I-Always-Have-Something-To-Say?

- I like how the guitar sounds. It’s kinda… psychedelic. 60’s vibes. This will work. But who is the “She” you’re talking about little devil?

- Oh, no one, you know, just a sex, drugs and love song. He answered

- Yeah, the psychedelic side with the effects is what the studio version brings to our song. Graham said

- Guys, I can’t take it anymore, look how much time it took me to fucking record my drums! Dave whined

- Say welcome to tendonitis Dave! Alex said

- Yeah, let’s think about mister Stephen Alexander James, his bass lines were painful too. Oh, and Dames, you sounded…quite nice too.

- Please Y/N, don’t ever call me like that again. Alex pleaded

- Sorry Alex, I wanted to sound serious.

- You? serious? Damon laughed

- Oh, shut up Dames. I laughed as well

- As I was right with the band’s name, here’s my advice. Get a real haircut!

As you may know, she’s so high didn’t really work. At least not the way we all thought. Sad. But still, it was their first single, and I was Blur’s N°1 fan.

They now paired with the dear Stephen Street and tried with another song. In the studio, I danced to the song, and I was quite aroused by Damon’s voice in it. Yup, it’s There’s no other way. This one became a hit, finally. And Damon could sing it in his favourite show. Well, “sang” because we all know Top of the pops is only playback at this moment. He even showed it by… well by Damon being Damon, aka moving uncontrollably, getting away from the mic, hitting his head against it… yeah, I was in the public right in front of the stage telling myself “What are you doing you twat?”. I later knew, him and Alex were actually high on ecstasy. Anyway, Damon was here, and I loved it. Also… HE FINALLY HAD A DECENT HAIRCUT. This man would be the death of me, and I had some competition because every damn girl had a crush on him, and I can’t blame them. Next, Bang, was rehearsed and it also didn’t work. Andy and Balfy (As I call him) convinced them to pursue in a Madchester genre. And you can guess that…

- I don’t want to make songs into this fucking genre! And I only write my lyrics in the studio. He said annoyed

- Hey Dames, don’t be angry.

- I am not, I am disappointed, that’s not the same thing. It’s just… I don’t want to make songs that sounds like Nirvana, I’m not into this grunge thing!

- Liar, you love them, I heard you listen to them in your bedroom.

- I absolutely don’t know what you’re talking about. He said blushing because of his lie

- Okay, listen. I’m sure that whatever the boys and you are writing the album will work. I said squeezing his cheeks

- That’s also what I think!

- And you know what? The others can fuck off Damon. Your music matters, and you know I’ll always be your number one fan, right?

He took me in his arms, seeking reassurance.

- Thank you, for believing in me

- Number one fan, always remember.

Leisure didn’t work. £60 000 of debt. You know what’s next. We were now in 1992, and we went to the United States, hoping to recoup the major loss. In my Opinion, the Britpop era started here, with Popscene. It was hard for everyone, and most of the time, I thought the band would split. I often had to stop fights. Everyone wanted to slap Damon who was behaving like a cocky bastard. Even me. I know Popscene was supposed to be a very British record that clearly didn’t please to everyone, but I liked it, as I was just like the boys: homesick.

May 15th 1992:

- It was a really good gig!

- Yeah, and now there’s a really good after party! Damon answered

- You bunch of alcoholics, you only think about drinking and flirting with girls.

- Alex in particular.

- Fuck off Dave.

- And arguing like bloody schoolgirls. I added

- And what do you plan to do love? Damon asked me

- Well, huh… drink as well.

- That’s my girl.

That’s what I did, and something I wish I had never seen caught my eye. I was homesick, and now, Damon with a blonde over-made-up slut, kissing her. I don’t know if it was the fact I was really drunk or high, probably both, I ate some mushrooms I didn’t know were these kinds of mushrooms, probably both, but … it clearly made me lose my shit. When he saw getting him and throwing him the darkest look I had ever thrown at him while kissing this bitch, he understood something was wrong. I took my things and started walking out of this place. I saw him mouthing a “shit” and ran after me.

- Y/N!

- Fuck you Damon!

- What’s wrong? Tell me what I did!

- You know exactly what you’ve done you fucking prick!

- No I don’t! And where do you think you’re going?

- Back to the hotel!

- No Y/N, please stay!

- Fuck off! I’m tired, I’m going back to the fucking hotel!

He stopped trying to convince me as I jumped into a cab. He could have got in with me, but no, he didn’t.

Obviously, back at the hotel, I cried. It had to happen. Even if Damon was paying everything, the thing I hated the most as an independent woman, I had few money left. On a whim, and because of my fucking hypersensitivity, I packed my things, took a cab to the airport, taking the first plane back to London.

When Damon tried to find me in the room we shared, it was too late, I was gone, and he didn’t know where to find me.

Only one person knew where I was, as I left a word to him under the door of his hotel room: Graham, who for me was the most responsible of the band.

I'm 5'4 and I have a very tiny body frame so i'm extremely petite and pretty small. I'm not very curvy and I literally have the body of a cereal box...lol but its fine because I have nice hips and thighs. I have thick brown hair that goes down to my back and it gets tangled pretty easily but its kinda fluffy. I have brown eyes and tiny freckles all over my face and body. I also have a very strong grunge style, like Flannels, band t-shirts, combat boots, leather jackets etc. But i'd also always enjoy a nice oversized sweatshirt or hoodie with a pair of skinny, ripped jeans and some converses or something along those lines.

For my personality.....this is where things get interesting. At first people find me very intimidating due to my resting bitch face and cold exterior but I promise i'm not like that ALL the time. When you get to know me, i'm goofy and about everything that comes out of my mouth is sarcasm or some dry humored joke. I'm also that one friend in a group where they literally will do the stupidest shit ever like for an example one time it was super dark outside and my other friend was there, while I was trying to climb a tree and I failed and fell out of the tree, and landed on my back. I got straight up after that somehow it didn't hurt.....like at all? But yeah i'm super reckless and sometimes people have to save me from myself if you get what I mean. I also have a very strong "I don't give a fuck" attitude and I will not hesitate to stick up for myself or my friends....like i'm the type of person where if someone glares at me, i'll glare right back.

I have bad anxiety and I can be very self destructive. This is where my feisty, stubborn, hardheaded side comes in. If I want something then i'll fight for it even if it hurts me and i'll get into a bad cycle of putting myself down and trying to do better even if I did great the first time but I always push myself too far and other people have to stop me because I usually can't see it when its happening. I also cover my emotions up and I have a lot of trouble talking about whats bothering me or what problems i'm having emotionally so I put up a wall and I act tough, or happy and sometimes i'll be the exact opposite but I try to hide it.Weird things about me: I've grown up in the south all my life so sometimes when I talk a few words they'll come out sounding WAYYY more country and southern then I wanted, I don't have an accent but sometimes my words just come out that way. Sometimes in the middle of the night you can find me just staring at a wall or something because I can't go to sleep.....I have trouble sleeping.....

Things I like: I love swimming (I was on a swim team for about 9 years), I love horror movies, I like rain and the sounds of thunderstorms because its calming to me, I also love the smell of rain, I like cloudy days, cooking, listening to 80's and 90's rock but mainly 90's because 90's is the best, My favorite bands are Bush, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkoln Park, Pearl jam but i'm pretty open to anything.

Things I dislike: Spiders.......I will scream if I see a spider.

So I'm kinda short I'm 5'4, super skinny and petite, I don't weigh a lot and I get made fun of a lot for it, and I have pale skin and freckles all over my face and body. I have brown thick hair that goes down to my mid back and brown eyes! I'm not very curvy I have the body of a cereal box but hey I have some nice hips and thighs I guess?

When people first see me I look intimidating due to my resting bitch face but if you talk to me I'm pretty nice and warm! I hate talking about my feelings and I cover those up too and I act fine but usually I'm not. Also anxiety sucks......and I have that really bad. "Meaning?"

"Haven't you dated anyone before?" Ji-Woon asked before grinning, "So innocent."

"Fuck you."

The singer absolutely LOVES how sarcastic you can be. He could live purely by listening to you slay people, both Survivors and Killers with your razor-sharp tongue and quick witty mind. That's just one of many ENTP traits you have.

Also, your grunge style? Cute. You try to be fierce and powerful and he can respect that, but otherwise, he won't take it so seriously... Until the day you are actually wearing HIS band shirt and he is all smiles as he calls you good looking with a good style.

He can tell when your anxiety is taking over your head and he is that selfish that he thinks his singing would make you feel better. It does, but not as much as The Legion's music does. Good thing that Ji-Woon is on good terms with the young killers.

Though, you need to kiss him for not liking his songs as much. His songs are his life and he thrives when you listen to him sing.

Ji-Woon can handle it when you are acting bitchy and such and he doesn't mind it if you don't talk about your feelings. He is a little drama queen himself so he won't hold it in if he is feeling bad.

He understands that you don't really empathize with him and doesn't blame you for it. Also, he is ready to come between you and make you rest and while you may curse at him for it, he doesn't let it stop him from tucking you down so you can rest. He knew what he got into when he threw that knife with a note at you.

BIG YES TO DARK JOKES. He loves them and isn't afraid to 'throw' some at you also! Get it? Throw? I crack myself up.

He also finds your fear of spiders hilarious, but bring him a cockroach and he screams like a girl. This man does not like bugs that need to be burned before they will finally die.

idk if u care but crispin gray recently had an interview about his entire career and it kind of changed my perspective of queenadreena…idk if for better or for worse lol. it was weird to see him so dismissive of a lot of his catalogue w katie except for ‘love your money’ just because that was the only remotely chart successful song. i get you want to be able to sustain yourself but jeez him and katie really had a weird back and forth relationship

Sorry i'm replying late, i've seen the interview pop up on Youtube but honestly i was too invested in university shit recently & generally not in the good mood for that but i'm planning to watch. How did it change your view on Queen Adreena, did he say something mean specifically on QA or Katie? I mean i gotta watch it but honestly? Not surprised in the slightest. A few years ago he was asked to describe fave songs he recorded throughout the years and he listed more of Daisy Chainsaw ones than anything else, with Love Your Money as number 1. The differences in their points of view are real something, Katie Jane absolutely HATED Love Your Money, same as Daisy Chainsaw. Kinda apparent he wanted bigger fame but DC dropped fast and QA failed to live up to their predictions.

i had a time when i liked to dig up old Queen Adreena interviews that are lost in the old internet & generally not available for years (which i planned to post on is-she-suffering but my investment in that site is... varied in its intensity). Also that was back in the days when i wrote Queen Adreena book during manic phase and tried to sell it but lost motivation Well since i don't do anything with that knowledge anyway i'll put what i know here as i love fan discussions

So they sure had/have odd back and forth love-hate relationship & that's the reason why their career went how it went. There's been a huge tension between them at some point. I'm sure you know she had a major mental breakdown (probably schizophrenic episode) after Daisy Chainsaw, or even beginning before her leaving, and then she went into isolation and lived with an old woman in Lake District for awhile. She left Daisy Chainsaw cause Crispin didn't want her to come up with her own songs (all of DC was by Crispin except for Lovely ugly brutal world by KJ).

They almost split up as Queen Adreena after Drink Me. The material for The Butcher and The Butterfly was written at different times, originally it was meant to be called Atom Bomb at Bikini but it was constantly delaying and they eventually recorded everything they've got live. So that's obvious right? But i was surprised to find out they were writing songs separately. Some of them (i forgot which though) were written by Katie Jane and Pete Howard's sons band (they're even credited) + some with Melanie Garside, Richard Adams + some other musician. Katie Jane didn't like it. They intended it to be their last album at the time. She also hated live at ICA show but they released it cause they were broke

But that's a digression. I just wanna say that at this point they were done with each other but kept pushing it. Katie had her own art projects and stuff, Crispin started Dogbones with Nomi and i just remember how vaguely pissed at Katie he waas in the interviews. Like he stressed that Dogbones is his number one priority and if Katie wants to do something with Queenadreena, she must wait til Dogbones have a break first or something, and it sounded oddly bitter.

RaCH and Djinn era are just so weird, they had opportunities but let them go in a way. I don't think many people know but they were huge demand in Japan. They entered album charts and were interviewed by 11 magazines and 6 (!)TV stations there (wtf happened to that material i want to know???). But they only played 5 times or less.

Katie said she considers the band dead but they decided they can try to play for a couple more months. But aside from that she 100% lost the interest in the band around Djinn. There's an interview where she says "the overall image is Crispin but the shape will change again at rehearsals". And you can hear it, it’s more blues rock than anything. IMO it's their worst production wise. Instruments are fine but Katie's voice is so badly produced that sometimes i find some songs fucking irritating, cause they didn’t cut out her breaths and the vocals are TOO LOUD, to the point of distorting. As if she stands too close to the mic. The album is fine but it feels unfinished.

And here we come back to Crispin... here's what he said after the QA split:

Why the Dogbones started? “I needed to work more than the previous band I was in was working, the previous band who shall remain nameless, haha… um… Queenadreena. I wanted to work more than the singer of Queenadreena wanted to work… so that’s why it started. Fine by me… but I really like to be in a band, I’m not a solo project kind of guy. The last album (‘Djin’) did come out in the UK, but it was so low key because Katie kind of disappeared so there was little point in promoting it. Personally it’s my favourite by far so it was a shame but there you go… So here are Dogbones, it’s not been an easy ride but we are trying very hard.

Ok so the bitterness is kinda apparent isn't it. I think there were two reasons why they argued so much, first musical differences. Katie at some point lost interest in loud rock music for some years and went the folk way in Ruby Throat. I have a theory that Taxidermy and Drink Me are more influenced by Katie Jane and Butcher and Djinn are more Crispin. During first albums i think Katie more actively took part in music composition and choosing arrangements. She wrote lyrics, melodies but also composed a lot of songs on some little electronic keyboard thing and 4 track (Heavenly Surrender, Pray for me, My Silent Undoing, all Lalleshwari +more). Plus she wanted more peaceful/dreamy sound on Taxidermy than full on rock, Crispin complained about it in some 00's interview, that he'd like it to be more rock. Then there are 2 versions of Drink Me, the original has rough and alt versions of songs (it was sold by Katie and it's leaked on FB and probably YT). Crispin Gray apparently really hated the final Drink Me. Now next album is The Butcher & The Butterfly and it's more standard blues rock, no more crazy dreamy things of previous albums etc., Djinn is even more blues rock but darker. Djinn was his favourite at some point while KJ hated Butcher, not sure about Djinn. So i think they had different views on where they should go, Katie made her weird simplistic creepy tunes (like Lalleshwari) and folk melodies adding that strange things to noise rock. Crispin probably wanted blues & rock.

Other than that, i’m convinced they are bitter exes, lol. There’s been rumours about them dating during Daisy Chainsaw for years, plus Katie had a history of dating band members. Crispin wrote X-ing off the days about her. I don’t know if they dated again in Queen Adreena. Then there’s this interview, timeline is unclear, either The butcher & the butterfly or later:

„Katie writes all the songs herself and often looks for melodies and structure with the drummer. With Crispin - her husband or ex-husband, which is not entirely clear to me - for almost three years she has no longer been in a room. "Sometimes we send him a letter with a new song and that's all we can do. All we have are our lungs and our musical talent and we have to do with it. It is repugnant difficult life, I know most of the time how I should deal with it." But Queenadreena will still remain even exist? "I think so, we are now pretty busy and I see where the ship aground.”

I always wondered what exactly happened after Djinn, i’ve seen Katie Jane say „i think they gave up on me” while others said she disappeared. Other times CG said there’s no bad blood between them but at the same time there’s been some weird tension. As of recent i thought they reconnected somehow through the internet and had a good relation but who really knows.s

I get why Crispin gets irritated when people compare everything he does to „stealing from KJ” but honestly, he gave them good reasons, at least in the 90’s. I can believe Starsha Lee singer isn’t copying Katie cause she’s from Brazil or something and she didn’t know Queen Adreena before. But everything else… Crispin’s problem is that he doesn’t know what he wants. He spent 90’s chasing something, tried singing himself, had girl singer replacements and even one KJ copy. Dogbones was ironically his most original non-Katie band, even with all their grunge influences. In a way he wants to be a frontman and at the same time doesn’t. Idk if he’s very controlling, but Daisy Chainsaw shows he valued his songs/lyrics first & in Queen Adreena he had to step back a lot, cause Katie’s condition was she would be in charge of the lyrics. I don’t think he realizes how strongly Daisy Chainsaw issues affected Katie, i mean from her own words you can read that aside from media attention/hate, her being unable to write lyrics had a role in her breakdown. I think she now let go but for years she hated remembering Daisy Chainsaw and she felt kind of worthless cause she was only somebody else’s mouthpiece. I’m not trying to say he’s cruel or anything, but i firmly believe rock lyrics writers should sing their own songs or else there are problems.

They both were writers-composers with different vision and i have impression they struggled a lot while shaping their songs, cause they both stuck to their ideas. Hence 2 versions of Princess Carwash maybe. Katie once said that he „gets terribly upset with her” cause she writes her songs on a simple wind organ and uses a few chord buttons only. Clash of writer ways/personalities/egos and at some point they had to let go.

Maybe he prefers music/bands where he was 100% in control including lyrics (note he wrote/sang some lyrics in Dogbones too). Daisy Chainsaw achieved bigger success US and UK wise as they were offered to play Top of The Pops, and they’re more well liked/remembered by „general alt public”. Queen Adreena however is way more valued as a cult band, with cult following and admiration in UK & France. Most people think Pretty Like Drugs and other QA songs are his best work and he probably finds it irritating cause truth is, he never managed to be more successful than Daisy Chainsaw/Queenadreena. Love Your Money is ironically the least Crispin Gray/DC/QA sounding song in my opinion. I kinda find it irritating that he downplays Queen Adreena cause it was probably his best work in this band but whatever

So yeah sorry for the word spill, that’s what i can think of it right now but as i said, i haven’t watched the interview yet, it’s just this kind of treatment is in a way consistent for him

Sexuality: Straight (For now might be bi but i'm going with straight) I'm 5'4 and I have a very tiny body frame so i'm extremely petite and pretty small. I'm not very curvy and I literally have the body of a cereal box...lol but its fine because I have nice hips and thighs. I have thick brown hair that goes down to my back and it gets tangled pretty easily but its kinda fluffy. I have brown eyes and tiny freckles all over my face and body. I also have a very strong grunge style, like Flannels, band t-shirts, combat boots, leather jackets etc. But i'd also always enjoy a nice oversized sweatshirt or hoodie with a pair of skinny, ripped jeans and some converses or something along those lines. For my personality.....this is where things get interesting. At first people find me very intimidating due to my resting bitch face and cold exterior but I promise i'm not like that ALL the time. When you get to know me, i'm goofy and about everything that comes out of my mouth is sarcasm or some dry humored joke. I'm also that one friend in a group where they literally will do the stupidest shit ever like for an example one time it was super dark outside and my other friend was there, while I was trying to climb a tree and I failed and fell out of the tree, and landed on my back. I got straight up after that somehow it didn't hurt.....like at all? But yeah i'm super reckless and sometimes people have to save me from myself if you get what I mean. I also have a very strong "I don't give a fuck" attitude and I will not hesitate to stick up for myself or my friends....like i'm the type of person where if someone glares at me, i'll glare right back.

I have bad anxiety and I can be very self destructive. This is where my feisty, stubborn, hardheaded side comes in. If I want something then i'll fight for it even if it hurts me and i'll get into a bad cycle of putting myself down and trying to do better even if I did great the first time but I always push myself too far and other people have to stop me because I usually can't see it when its happening. I also cover my emotions up and I have a lot of trouble talking about whats bothering me or what problems i'm having emotionally so I put up a wall and I act tough, or happy and sometimes i'll be the exact opposite but I try to hide it. Weird things about me: I've grown up in the south all my life so sometimes when I talk a few words they'll come out sounding WAYYY more country and southern then I wanted, I don't have an accent but sometimes my words just come out that way. I also love the smell of cigarette smoke....let me explain. When I was a kid my parents smoked a lot and I was used to smelling it and now it reminds me of home and is sort of comforting.

In general Helen has a quiet exterior, though once you got to know each other, you can actually see why he hangs around Puppet. Cause this man, has one wicked sense of humor. As soon as you show your more goofy, sacrasm side. Helen is showing how devious he is. You'll likely see it first with your fear of spiders. Expect a bit of teasing, cause he will smirk at you, before he squishes it, and then proceed to tease you a bit.

He's definitely the kind of person to trick someone into doing something stupid, for his amusement. So he will make no exception of not pulling that on you. Though he will probably make sure you're okay in the end, just cause he loves you. The kind of person to deny it, but really you can tell. Cause for you, he's easier to read. If you stick up for friends, then expect him right behind you making the most threatening aura possible to the person you're fighting. Which means you'll win most of your fights, without having to throw a punch.

Your anxiety and self destructive tendencies, will likely have you seeing a very gentle and soft side to Helen, much quicker than you would think. He also has trouble explaining his emotions, though he will become good at reading yours. Likely you will become good at reading his, so it'll be a balance. Granted, Helen is stubborn too, though in a different way as he's also patient. He will stick with you once he's attached, no matter what.

You sounded southern with some words, actually makes Helen giggle and he will tease you for it. Though once you're around him long enough, you'll realize that he has that. Helen surprisely smokes, not a lot but you can tell when he does. So you'll probably smell it in his clothes. Which means if you steal them, that means you'll get a flustered Helen, who probably will initiate cuddles afterwards. Cause he's not the tallest in the manor, being at 5'8, but you'll still be smol to him, which he adores. He won't mock you for your height, though he might pick you up like a cat. He also likes your hair, cause he can style it for drawings of you, and he likes running his fingers through your hair while cuddling.

Speaking of drawing, expect to be draw a lot. Like even when you're not too aware of it, Helen will probably be drawing you absent-mindly. If you're swimming, probably will be drawing you doing it. Helen will show you his art, as you've become his muse. No worries, not the blood paintings. He might even give you ones with things you like, like a cloudy day one.

You can introduce him to your music, and he'll likely listen to it with you while he draws or paints. Also, you'll have to remind him to eat sometimes especially when he's in creative mode, so practice for cooking. Also if you give him some shepherd's pie, he will shower you with affection.

here we fuckin GO: The Soliloquy of Aomine Daiki’s So-Called Love Life, they say the line is thin, aokaga lifeguard au, domestic FTM aokaga because fuck yeah, Pro Bono, 'a mere shadow' in aokuro, skater AND garage band aokagakuro AUs, and also Eskimo Brothers,,,

SOASCLL

it was just supposed to be an AoKaga oneshot about the boys being awkward and getting together and Aomine having an internal crisis the entire time, but it fizzled out about halfway through bc I didn’t really have a direction to take it in I was mostly just riffing.

Excerpt:

Bottom line, there was something about a guy saying “I hate you,” with his mouth and “you're beautiful,” with his eyes that created a category that probably shouldn't exist between “bitter rival” and “um... crush?” and pulled a word of strangled acceptance unbidden and immediately from Aomine's throat. And in the days following that massive moment, and the tiny spell of relief and mutual agreement that had come after... absolutely nothing of note happened.

He felt like something... kind of should've happened. Like in one of those shoujo romance novels where new lovers fall into each other’s arms amid a swirling pink flurry of hearts and roses. That kind of thing. But no, after that earth-shattering split-second that had thrilled and terrified them both, and probably rearranged the fucking cosmos in its wake, life... just seemed to go on as normal. The sun still came up in the morning, and went down at night; the world kept on turning, none the wiser to the extraordinary phenomenon that should have shaken it to its core.

I straight-up wanted to write something twisted, it’s been such a long time since I’ve tortured these boys... so I started a oneshot in which Aomine chokes Kagami during sex... and not in the kinky way.

Excerpt: (cw: implied choking)

Something twists in Aomine’s chest, seeing him like that, some desperately childish ache that’s so strong and pure it’s almost hideous. His eyes begin to sting as it clenches thick and toxic in his guts, tightening like a noose as he shudders for breath. He can barely see straight.

His hands are shockingly dark on Kagami’s skin, and they’re even darker on his neck, large enough to fit perfectly around it, the tips of his thumbs kissing over the slope of his trachea. His fingers are folded snug against the curve of his spine, just cradling him, just feeling the weight of his head as it lifts away from the mattress. His glistening chest rises and falls at irregular intervals, his eyes are closed, and he’s so fucking beautiful that it can’t be real. It shouldn’t be.

lifeguard AU

I’ve wanted to write a silly, tropey AoKaga lifeguard oneshot for ages... they say write what you know, right?

the only content I’ve ever seen for this AU is one person pining for the hot lifeguard, or being rescued by them, I’ve never seen anyone write rival lifeguards, and as an ex-lifeguard I can attest that this was definitely a thing that existed. at my job people would mark X’s on their visors for every save they made, and that was something that could get really competitive, which explains this dialogue snippet I have drafted.

Excerpt:

“Fuck you, chain riding doesn’t count.”

Kagami’s glaring at Aomine’s face, at his downcast eyes beneath the soaking wet fringe of his hair, instead of the Sharpie he’s holding in one hand, but he knows he’s not about to correct his mistake.

“It so does count,” Aomine says, putting his visor firmly back on his head, two new X’s added bold and black to the fading, ever-lengthening row along the brim. He crosses his arms over his chest.

“It was one save.”

“It was two people!”

domestic FTM AoKaga

idk I need more FTM Kagami in my life... I only have the beginning bit of this one written out, and I probably need to rework it, it’s pretty old and it’s pure fluff.

Excerpt:

“I get that it was urgent and all, but next time can you try not to break my face? I like my face.”

Kagami came willingly enough, and planted a light, apologetic kiss on his temple, “I like your face, too.”

On rare occasions, he got to watch Aomine totally melt. His shoulders would drop, his frown would soften, and even his eyes would seem to simply relax and brighten up… and then he would ruin it by opening his mouth, every time.

“Hmm... that’s pretty gay, man.”

“Both of your hands are on my ass right now,” Kagami pointed out.

Pro Bono

ok but just think about Aomine and Kagami as rival lawyers... angry snarky boys in suits... inadvisable after-hours courtroom sex with ties still on... come on.

I bounced this idea off my friend Sam and we thought it’d be hilarious if the firm is owned by Kagami’s dad, and at some point Aomine grabs the wrong ass on accident. Then later comments that Kagami has the same ass as his dad and Kagami’s like “how the fuck do you know that??” “mistakes were made, that’s how.”

the main thing holding me back from writing this AU is I have no idea how courts work or what the daily lives of attorneys are like, I need to binge-watch some SVU for research purposes or something.

a mere shadow

I was inspired by Smokey310’s What are we drinking anyway for this idea. basically a oneshot in which Aomine is at a party and pining over Kuroko/regretting things gone wrong between them. he runs into Mayuzumi there, and is just drunk and miserable enough to decide he’s an acceptable substitute for the time being. Mayuzumi’s working through issues of his own (Akashi-related) and decides to humor him; they make out and possibly do other things that are not a good idea for people dealing with a recent heartache.

heavy aesthetic skater AU

this is a recent idea so it doesn’t have an outline or anything yet, but... I just wanna write more AoKagaKuro getting up to shenanigans, I’ve been bombarded with a lot of skater content on my dash lately, and I wanna write more short, atmospheric fics that have a specific tone and “feel” to them, ya know? this one would be like... pure 90′s urban grunge and skate park aesthetic, flannels and Vans and crowding on railings together to watch the streetlights come on as the sun sets... that kinda thing.

garage band AU

on the subject of AoKagaKuro shenanigans... I’ve seen professional band AU done (usually with the entire GoM) but imagine for a moment if you will my friends... indie startup Soundcloud band with three members, only one of whom can actually sing (it’s Kuroko), the other two are super competitive guitar players who get in each other’s faces and throw in the occasional backup vocals when they aren’t throwing things at each other. imagine the late-night recording sessions, crashing on each other’s couches and sharing headphones. imagine one of the two resident dumbasses trying to download an mp3 file and it turns out all choppy and corrupted, and they all argue about whether it sounds better that way. imagine the “found sound” percussion (most definitely involving Aomine slapping Kagami’s ass like a tambourine) I just want this concept to exist okay it’s self-indulgent af but it gives me so much joy.

Eskimo Brothers

okay so... here’s my urban dictionary entry for the day, courtesy of my ex-coworker and very own Eskimo brother Moon.

Eskimo brothers (n.) two or more people who have, separately and/or coincidentally, had a sexual encounter with the same individual.

this trope could honestly feature in any of my AoKagaKuro concepts, or it could get a separate fic of its own, and I’m a little undecided on the combination (most likely Aomine and Kagami both slept with Kuroko, but I could also see it going another way). I don’t have an actual... plot? of any kind for this idea but I just love the thought of it existing and would love to write it someday.
