walt and mike's relationship is so underrated. like there are plenty of characters who hate one another, but there's usually some history between them, some protracted experience that has caused resentment or hatred to build up and bubble over. walt and mike are just two unrelated guys who abruptly became co-workers and subsequently descended into the kind of mutual loathing u typically only see from long married couples who should've gotten divorced before the wedding flowers were wilted. just unfiltered bitter hatred. there are nuances to every relationship on breaking bad because each character is so complex and every interaction so layered, but walt and mike's feels the most straightforward and simple of them all. they just fucking despise each other. in every universe, they would find and detest each other. no red string of fate: just a red string of hate.
