i try my best not to think of it and i havent in years but the fact the only people who were ever supposed to be my friends irl would always dump their love on me and then to leave me & say they dont like me over and over and over again only so they could watch my reaction n make fun of me together maybe did affect me huh
Tumblr media
#i am normal i am not affected ii do not see ◡_◡#[distant sounds of me crying & screaming && gasping for air &&& ripping myself to shreds like a bear]#i was always an autistic lil freak who didnt speak so i guess i shouldnt be surprised#but like. i always just wanted them to like me#i always just wanted the chance to like them back and let be allowed. always just wanted someone to be pals with. someone i could trust to#have my back for once vs everything else#i remember such a specific moment right#and we were going on a roadtrip w her and one i already had#and they ended up talking before we left#the worst part is i had to keep seeing them. i had to just keep reliving the humiliation over n over again n it got so deep in me#& the og one had a plan that we would sit together in the back n n we had like. tons of stuff brought we could do n snacks n all this#n then at the very last second literally as i had just sat down she was like . actually. i dont want you back here. i want her she's way be#better#and i remember so specifically she was like. LOL look at ur face..........#and so i had to sit up front alone w nothing to do the entire ride but listen to them make fun of me for it#i feel like it would be better if they had left it at that but then they always came back n treated me so sweetly so i was like . ok i have#a chance#maybe they do like me#like the same girl went on to share cookies she had bought w me and we sat on the lawn for hours hanging out n eating them#and then she did it again#and again#but i was so alone in the world otherwise that i stayed#for years n years#my therapist always talks about how because of how long ive had anxiety means itll take either equally as long or longer to recover#and all i can think ab is how i lived with everything horrible at home#always just wanting to escape#to living through bad things outside of it too#just piling on top#from 6-16#and i kept going back

HI BESTIE, can i request some fatgum fluff? maybe where he comforts us because we are insecure ?
OFC BESTIE, hope you like it :)
FATGUM FLUFF ❊
Pairing: FatGum x Reader
Genre: Fluff
~ Everything was great until she got into your head. Thanks to her, you started to doubt yourself and your relationship. You kept wondering if you’re enough to stand by Fatgum’s side; after all, he is a highly recognized hero. He could have any other girl in the world, so why is he still with you?~
Word Count: 2.8k
Tumblr media
You and Fatgum have been dating for a few months now; it all began when you started working in the same agency. He claims it was love at first sight, leaving snacks for you here and there, always waiting anxiously to help you with anything. You thought it was cute; of course, it felt good to have someone around giving you all the attention you never thought you would ever get from someone else. Eventually, one day while you both were on patrol, you decided to bring up his actions.
“You know, I bet you do this with all the girls, right?” Fatgum’s face flushed with red; he stopped in his tracks nervously scratching the back of his head.
“W-what? Do what? No, I don’t really...you’re just really pretty, you know?” He stuttered. It was amusing to see such a big man acting nervous.
God, I want to kiss him so badly, you thought.
“So...you think I’m pretty?” You questioned as you watched him nod his head, a goofy smile on his face. Your cheeks were growing sore with how hard you’ve been smiling; Fatgum was  attractive in both his regular and skinny form, and his personality was just so sweet it was unbelievable. He was definitely a way better man than any of the other guys you have met before, and it seemed like he really cared about you.
Grabbing his hand, you looked up at Fatgum, barely meeting his eyes because of the height difference, and squeezed his hand. “Do you like me?” His eyes widened, and he slapped his free hand across his face to hide his rosy cheeks. It made you laugh so hard seeing him stuttering like crazy. “A-a-and if I do? God, Y/N, you’re so pretty, and I always thought that I was never your type. So I never asked you out and just kinda hoped  that you got the message with those stupids cookies and candies I left for you. Yes! Yes, I do like you..very much at that.”
PRESENT DAY:
Even though it’s been a few months, your relationship with Fatgum has been...AMAZING. Every day is just filled with so many good moments; it was still crazy to fathom that there was someone who loved you so so much. At the moment, you both shared a small apartment big enough for you two and a small dog you adopted a week ago together. A small Yorkie named Gummy was a present from Fatgum because his little surprises were endless.
“Gummy! Y/N! Could you please grab Gummy, her little dress? The white one with those flowers we bought yesterday, I think the press would love it.” That’s right, you both were going to attend a banquet for pro-heroes, and Fatgum insisted on bringing Gummy to show her off to his colleagues. Going to the small chest you kept in the living room, you pulled out the white dress and dressed Gummy for the occasion. “Honeybear?” Ah, you loved how he always called you sweet little nicknames. “What do you think?”
Fatgum was in his skinny form dressed in a classic black and white tuxedo, with his hair slicked back and a cheeky smile on his face; he looked so good you wanted to jump on him right there. “Sexy as always babe, come here.” With Gummy dressed, you stood up and walked over to Fatgum with your arms stretched out. Hugging him, you looked up and stood on your tippytoes to plant a kiss on his cheek, making him then grab your chin and plant a small peck on your lips. After kissing your nose, he looked down at his watch. “You ready? Let me grab you a coat.” Pulling away, he went into the room you shared and dug in the closet for a coat. “Come, Gummy.” You were already dressed in a long white gown with your hair straightened and your makeup perfect; you and Fatgum definitely looked like an elegant pair, making you feel confident. Even your Yorkie matched!
LATER:
Eventually, you both had arrived at the banquet, and there was a long red carpet leading to the entrance, both sides filled with reporters, fans, security guards, and cameramen. The day you and Fatgum started dating, he quickly announced his relationship to the public and happily shared photos of you two on his social media. The public’s reaction was supportive, and you both have already received so much love from people. Yet, here and there, there were definitely some people jealous enough to send you all kinds of hate because of your happy, healthy relationship. You never let it get to you though, after all, Fatgum’s love is like no other, and he constantly reassures you whenever you’re feeling down. Those hate comments and posts online would never affect your relationship, and Fatgum would never leave you for someone else like they said...right?
Maybe it was just the nervousness talking, but you couldn’t shake off the negative thoughts that were running around your head until Fatgum opened the car door and offered you his hand. With a smile, you grabbed his hand, and with Gummy wrapped in your other arm, he led you to the red carpet, where all kinds of noise greeted you. Fans were screaming for an autograph, reporters were shouting for a comment, and the security guards struggled to hold everyone back. It made you laugh watching the sea of people crash against the poor guards. You and Fatgum turned left and right, posing together for people to get in some photos before heading inside, where other heroes and their partners greeted you.
The banquet consisted of heroes gushing about Gummy and your relationship with Fatgum. But since the event was made up of mainly heroes, it was a bit difficult to hold conversations with people for long as everyone eventually moved on to talk to Fatgum or any other hero. So you sat back, relaxing at one of the tables, enjoying some of the food that was available; Fatgum was busy showing off Gummy to his colleagues, so you were doing some alone time. You were sitting there peacefully savoring your meal when a random girl walked up to you, glass full of wine in hand. “Hello, you’re Fatgum’s girlfriend, right? Nice to meet you.”
“Oh yes! Hello, I’m Y/N...can I help you?” The girl had an unsettling smile that sent shivers down your spine, yet you stayed polite and smiled back. She set down her glass oddly close to you and cocked her head to the side. “I just wanted to come and say hi, maybe even shake your hand?”
That’s odd. You thought, but whatever, nothing bad ever came out of a handshake, right? Just as you were about to bring your hand up, her hand shot out, knocking her glass over, resulting in the wine getting all over your dress. Jumping back in surprise, you looked down at your now ruined dress; the white was stained with red, and it was all over. The girl quickly apologized as she grabbed some napkins and started to try to wipe the wine off. "No, no, it's okay! You don't have to" All of a sudden, she grabbed your hands tightly and dug her nails into your hands. "Ow, what are you-"
"You're a slut." She whispered with a wicked smile on her face. Her comment left you baffled, a stranger...calling you a slut? She didn't let go of your hands, and your eyes were stuck glued onto her's. "You'll never be good enough, you know? All of us were waiting for the right moment to ask him out, yet there you were, wagging your tail at him like a damn dog. You're lucky he agreed to date you because honey..." She looked at your body up and down and, with one hand, reached up to tug at your hair, twirling it around her finger painfully. "These, other little heroes are stupid. You tell them you love them and praise them, and they'll give you everything you want. But, him? He's the one everyone wants. And you're not cut out to stand next to him."
Her eyes reminded you of a snake as they glowed, her hands snaking up to your cheeks where she slowly moved your head to the side towards Fatgum. It was as if time was going to slow; you were forced to watch as women of all kinds surrounded him. Some were gushing over your dog, but many were talking to Fatgum, most with their hands touching his shoulders or messing with his hair. A gross feeling of jealousy burned over you as you watched him, not pushing anyone off or shying away from their touches. The girl's whispers were not of any help at all.
"See? They're so much more prettier than you and fit his image better." It was like her voice was starting to echo in your head, and you began to feel dizzy. Your body refused to move as if it was under a spell, and you felt tears rushing to your eyes. She laughed in your ear before pulling away, your body suddenly feeling like a weight has been lifted. She crossed her arms and snickered before looking over at Fatgum. "You might want to go change your dress; if anyone sees you like that, just imagine what the press would say." Looking back over to you, she continued, "I can see it now... Fatgum's girlfriend makes a fool of herself at the pro-heroes banquet. And you know those reporters love a juicy story.
"Why are you doing this? I don't even know you." You cried; it was humiliating enough to be standing there with a ruined dress and gross emotions washed over you. You watched as the girl shrugged and turned her back on you. "You're ugly, you're fat, your hair is a gross color, the way you smile is disgusting... shall I go on?" Taking your silence as an answer, she looked back to wink at you before heading her way to Fatgum.
Feeling violated and humiliated, you grabbed your coat that was draped on a chair and rushed to the bathroom. Running down the hall, you found a bathroom nearby and checking every stall before locking the door to be alone. Putting your back against the door, you struggled to catch your breath before sliding down the door, your hands covering your mouth to try to muffle the sobs that escaped your lips.
So many thoughts were racing your mind, trying to process everything that strange woman had said. Am I not enough? Why didn't he push those girls away, knowing I'm sitting right there? Why? Why? Why?
You brought your knees to your chest and hugged yourself in an attempt to control your shaking body. You stayed that way for almost fifteen minutes before you slowly stood up and headed to the mirror. Your eyes were red from crying so hard; your mascara stained down your cheeks and your nose red. Your hair was messy from running, and the stain on your dress only seemed darker now. Sniffling, you quickly cleaned yourself up the best you could and wrapped yourself up in the coat you grabbed. Getting your phone from the coat's pocket, you left Fatgum a message telling him you were feeling sick and headed outside. You had to take another entrance in order to avoid the press and fans, waiting outside at the curb for a taxi.
At home, the second you closed the front door and made your way into your room to change, the sobs made their way back up your throat. While crying your eyes out once again, you quickly stripped off your dress and changed into pajamas. The crying didn't stop even while wiping the makeup off your face or brushing the knots out of your hair before going to bed. Shutting off your phone, you wrapped yourself up in the blankets and eventually cried yourself to sleep.
It was 2 AM when Fatgum finally arrived home. He had a sad expression on his face as he shut the front down and let Gummy down to let her roam around. In the middle of conversing with all kinds of people, he had checked his phone, shocked that you had gone home without telling him in person. Worried, he rushed outside for privacy and called spammed your phone with a hundred texts and a hundred calls, all of which you didn't answer.
"Y/N? Honeybear?" He slowly opened the door to the room you shared and sighed when he saw you sleeping in the bed, the quilt and sheets messy and wrapped around you. Stepping into the room, he slowly looked around and bent down to pick up your stained dress. He inspected the stain and folded it up with a pained expression before setting it down on the drawer near the bed. He was worried after calling and texting you; it took him forever to finally leave the banquet because more and more heroes wanted to strike up a conversation with him. Sadly, he changed out of this tuxedo and changed into the PJs. He said nothing as he cleaned up the room and then carefully took out some wipes before slowly making his way to you.
Leaning over, he carefully moved you to face him and winced seeing your red tear-stained face. "Y/N..." He whispered as he began to wipe away your tears. "Honeybear...what happened?"
You woke up to Fatgum kissing your cheeks; looking up at him, he smiled softly, but it only made you turn your back towards him, covering your face with the sheets. "I don't want to talk about it, Gum." You were exhausted from crying so much, and you didn't want Fatgum to see you in such a sorry state, but he only leaned over more to grab the sheets and gently pulled them off to reveal your face.
Cupping your cheeks, he turned you to face him again and he began to smother you in kisses all over your face. "Gum-" You wanted to be angry. At yourself, at him, and those girls. But his butterfly kisses were so sweet they made you melt into a laughing mess, which made him smile cheerfully. Giving you one last kiss on your lips, he looked down at you, unsure how to start. "What...what happened tonight, Y/N?"
You sighed, sitting up. You scooted over and made space for Fatgum to sit before sharing what happened at the banquet. Listening to you go on and fighting back your tears, he held back from going rabid. His hands were shaking from anger as he replayed your words over and over again in your head.
"It was a terrible feeling, s-she made me feel so disgusted with myself. Gum I-...before this, I never let my insecurities get the best of me, but she-" Your chest was heaving with sobs as you struggled to find the words to explain what you felt. You felt gross, broken down...ugly. But it stopped when Fatgum gently grabbed your hands with a sad smile, "And did you believe her?"
"I-...well..." You struggled to continue. What happened to the confidence you had? What happened to never listening to strangers? To haters? ...What happened to believing in the ones you love? You rested your head on his shoulders as you sighed. "I just...I don't know how to feel right now. Gum, it was like she was getting in my head."
He nodded, he wasn't even able to comprehend what you went through, but he wanted you to understand that you were enough. That you were perfect, all your flaws and insecurities? He loved them all. Your goofy smile in the morning, your scent, the way you jump at scary movies, the way you gush at baby clothes, and more. He loved it all. Never in a million years would he ever leave such a perfect person for someone else. And he told you that, holding your hands, rubbing them with his thumbs.
That night you and Fatgum talked a lot. About what happened, about how you felt, and about how much he loved you. He was gentle, trying to comfort you slowly as not to make you feel rushed or panicked. Every time you squeezed his hand, he went to work smothering you in cheeks before you could continue with your conversation.
Eventually, everything was out. Now, you both were sitting in comfortable silence, holding hands. You were grateful to have such a patient, gentle, loving man by your side who truly made you feel loved. Thank god I convinced him not to hunt that girl down though, that would be on the news right away. You thought with a small laugh, even though what that strange woman said hurt you deeply, thanks to her words, you and Fatgum were closer than ever before.
"Let's go shower?" Fatgum questioned with a little wink. His large hands moving away from yours to slowly rub your thighs, making you twitch in anticipation. Turning your body to wrap your arms to hang off his neck, you gave him a deep kiss and pulled away with a smile. "Just don't forget that we have work tomorrow."

How they propose w/ Oikawa, Iwaizumi and Kuroo
Request: Oikawa, kuro and iwa proposing to their long term girlfriend??? -anonymous
Hi it’s me back again. *if anyone knows from which song this is I’m gonna give them a cookie no cap*. I’m back with another one and this one is just the cutest thing ever. Oikawas’ is a little dumb and goofy but I believe he would do something like that. Love ya. 💖💖💖

warning: fluff and some dorkiness.
Oikawa Toru
Tumblr media
-Okay so he is obsessed with tik tok....and his proposal kinda made it on tik tok.
-Its a nice cutesy proposal I swear he’s just overly proud of himself.
-You had just moved in with him in Argentina.
-Somehow you managed to get a job in your field in the town next to his place so when you told him that well you were moving to Argentina he didn’t hesitate to ask you to move in with him.
-He misses you way too much, the distance makes it hard for him to feel your comfort.
-He would never dream of breaking up with you; he would make it work even if it killed him.
-So it’s been a month and a half of living together and he is in heaven.
-He knew that he wanted to marry you for some time now.
-Since that moment at the airport the day he was leaving.
-Iwaizumi was there along side Matsu and Hanamaki.
-The three dumbasses were bawling their eyes out while you were semi chocking him.
- “Call me when you land okay? I wanna know how jet lagged you feel.”
-The sad smile on your face was enough to make him spill them tears, a sad smile of his own taking its seat on his face.
- “You’ll make fun of me again.”
- “It’s part of my duties as your girlfriend you beautiful dumbass.”
-And right there with you hands on either of his cheeks and tears in your eyes he knew that he would wife you up.
-Now he has been planning this for some time.
-He went all the way to California to find Iwa so they could pick a ring together.
-Both of them needed a ring but anyways.
-After obtaining the ring....he hid it for a few weeks.
-He would wake up everyday ten minutes earlier than usual and just ask you to marry him while you were still asleep.
-Once he was satisfied with the amount of times he has said it he gets up and is out the door.
-He took you to meet his team.
-he wanted to do it then but he chickened out.
-So what does he do?
-He sulks on tik tok.
-Until he comes across a video of a girl stepping into the shower with her boyfriend and pretends that she wants to ask him something important.
-Of course that was a very dumb way to ask you something so big but he got an adrenaline jump and five minutes of dumb courage.
-He sets up his phone right outside the shower curtain and just walks in with you.
- “Hi?!”
- “Hi”
-*giggles* “Can I help you mister?”
-And here is where things take a turn because doubts start to make their way into his head and his palms are getting sweaty-
- “Toru love are you alright?”
- “Marry me.”
-The video went viral, the squad clowned him until your first child was born and your kids laugh with the story till this day.
Iwaizumi Hajime
Tumblr media
-Unlike his best friend he took this wayyyy to chill.
-It popped up in his head one night before one of your visits.
-His roommate had asked him why he stayed in a long distance relationship.
- “Is she really so worth it man? You could have a chick in your bed every night and not wait for her visits every three months.”
- “You cannot imagine how worth it she is.”
 - “You sound like you wanna marry her dude.”
-And from that point on he couldn’t get it out of his head.
-Sure he had imagined your future before.
-The house you’ll have and where he would like to go on your honeymoon, what your kids might look like and what kind of mom you would be.
-But all of it was pure speculation.
-He just wanted to see how it would feel to be so domestic.
-So here he is almost a whole year after that night, choosing a ring along side Oikawa.
-This dumbass had taken the decision to get married too quickly and had called Iwa very VERY panicky and in need of some comfort.
-They both picked their respective rings and hid the velvety boxes deep in their pockets, the two best friends saying their goodbyes and heading off to their missions.
-Now Iwa wanted this to be as lass forced and too thought out as possible.
-He believes that these things are best  done in privacy and only netween the two partners.
-So he doesn’t plan anything out.
-He waits for the moment when it feels right.
-And that’s why it took him over a year to actually ask you.
-Of course it wasn’t such an improptu move like Oikawas’, he was a little less tik tok-y???
-You had ordered tak out and were eating in your shared apartment.
-After graduation you got transferred to the USA and were placed near Iwa so now just like Oikawa you lived together.
-It has been a nice calm year of just domesticated fluff.
-You were telling him about your day, how one of your co-workers ate your boss’s pretchel and they flipped.
-Or how you saw a dog dressed as a hotdog right next to a hotdog stand.
-And that’s when he just drops the bomb.
-He has been keeping the small velevt box in his pocket ever since he bought it.
-Wordlessly standing up he makes his way to your side of the table and drops to one knee.
- “I’m pretty sure you know already that I believe you are my soulmate. My other half and I couldn’t begin to imagine my life without you in it. Not even a month without you. That being said, it would make me the happiest man in the world if you would give me the honor of calling you Ms. Iwaizumi. For the rest of our lives; until we are old and wrinkly with our family running around us. Y/N L/N, will you marry me?”
-You were crying at this point, nodding your head since the moment he called you his other half.
-Of course you said yes and some bomb sex followed.
-Oikawa and his now wife, were so happy to hear that Iwa finally gathered the courage to ask you.
Kuroo Tetsuro
Tumblr media
-Baby!!!!
-He may be nasty but he is my og husband.
-Actually my second og husband.
-The first one is Akaashi.
-He bought the ring the same day he decided to ask you.
-He had been in a meeting and he was bored out of his mind so he texted you.
-You two started off by making fun of each other and ended up playing one of those dumb facebook games.
-He was letting out small giggles here and there which mind you were barely audible but the guy next to him heard them alrtight.
- “Talking with the missus eh?”
-Kuroo couldn’t control himself when he answered.
- “Yeah.”
-His coworker let out a chuckle at the sight of Kuroo’s face of surprise at his own words.
- “It was about time you wifed her. You two are so in love it almost makes me jealous.”
- “Jealous that you don’t have a beating heart Kai?”
-He got slapped....moving on.
-So with that he called you once the meeting was over and informed you of his plans for tonight.
- “Get dressed baby I’m taking you out for dinner tonight.”
- “What’s the occassion mister?”
- “It’s something special. Be ready by 9 I’ll pick you up from our apartment. Oh and could you please wear that gorgeous red dress of yours?”
- “The satin one? The one I can’t wear a bra with?”
- “You without a bra is just a bonus baby.”
- “You are a horny idiot Tetsu.”
-Now he was out on a mission.
-The mission of the ring.
-So he needed to call on the fellowship.
-Thirty minutes later Kenma, Yaku and Daichi were waiting for him at the local Starbucks.
-Alas the fellowship of the ring.
-These four idiots could barely agree on a single thing.
-Gave the shopkeepers a headache.
-But finally FINALLY they decided on one.
-Patting their friend on the back they were off, hoping that you would say yes.
-Apart from Kenma who prayed to the rain gods that you finally open your eyes and see what you are dating.
-While at the restaurant he was quieter than usual.
-He would let you talk and talk and talk about everything and anything with giving you only small nods or hums.
-He was so caught up in his head that he couldn’t see th worry in your eyes.
-  “Tetsu, is everything okay? “
-And there was his oportunity.
- “Actually something is kinda bothering me and you are the only one who can help.”
-He slowly got up and made his way to your side.
- “You remember a few months back when you joked about us getting married? Or that other time when you said that I would make a great dad? Well I guess tonight will determine all of that.”
-He kneeled down and opened the small box rubbing your knee with his other hand.
- “Y/N L/N will you help me make those dreams reality?”
-Kenma disapproves.

Cliffany part 2
O-kay, and that’s it! I don’t know if I’ll write a continuation tbh since it was just a silly little idea that came out of nowhere. (Although I did have some ideas for more!) I haven’t really been active on my fanblog lately so it’s not like it’ll make much of a difference though haha. By the way, I’m thinking about making my blog more "Dulcet-oriented" rather than just SE. I hope you guys don’t mind? Recently, I’ve been getting more and more into Black Tarot! So expect my blog to change a lil 🔮🕯🌌
--------------------
It had been a couple of days now since Tiffany’s last interaction with Claire, and while she was still ignoring her like before, Tiffany’s efforts in doing so had increased. The moment she spotted her in the corner of her eye, she would move at a faster pace, as if running away. Was it guilt after all? No, she just didn’t have the energy to deal with Claire’s annoying and unnecessary empathy. The empathy that she knew she didn’t deserve which made her feel even more frustrated towards Claire.
All she should be worried about right now is getting more followers on Instaglam, not avoiding a nobody like the plague. On that note, spring was coming soon, the flowers started to blossom and the days were getting longer which meant... that the "cottagecore" tag on insta would go trending soon, no doubt! And of course, living on the Arlington campus as one of its students, this gave Tiffany the access to its beautiful garden. Although honestly, she only ever went there to take pictures and this time wasn’t any different. She had prepared some tea sets and dresses for the occasion, all of which she would throw away once spring went away along with its "trends."
Carried by her confident footsteps, she walked to the garden. That confidence was only a facade though. She knew exactly what kind of people and who in particular went to take strolls quite often in this goddamn garden. But hey, it was 7pm and the sun would soon start to set. Knowing that Claire always arrives 15 minutes in advance to any meeting and most likely always wakes up at 6am, there was nothing to be worried about. Chances are, she was either doing her homework before going to bed like a goody-two-shoes or watering her weird-ass plants. Tiffany always had the horror of seeing these at Raquel’s parties. It just didn’t fit at all with the rest of what was going on in the room and ruined the whole "party" vibe.
In any case, there she was, searching for a good spot to take pictures and set up a fake picnic. That basket filled with different colored blankets, tea sets, biscuits, tea and a pie was way heavier than Tiffany had initially thought. Maybe she really should’ve asked for collab pictures with Trisha from the fine arts department. She didn’t really like her but when it came to follower count they were surprisingly close, although Tiffany was still number one of course. Still, if she had asked for a collab they could’ve carried those heavy props together.
After finding a good spot next to the pond, Tiffany set everything up in an aesthetically pleasing manner and got down to taking the pictures. She was taking different shots to post them one by one throughout the week and give out the illusion that she was taking those the same day she posted them. She was ready to upload the first one, call it a day and go back to the dorms without touching any of the tea or cakes. It’s all just useless calories anyways. As she was putting the tags on the picture, she started wondering what were the names of those flowers in the background.
"Ugh, fuck. What are those orange shits called again?"
"Marigolds."
"Ah right, thank y-"
Tiffany immediately snapped her head back. This annoyingly gentle voice could only belong to one person.
"...What the fuck, Claire. Where did you pop out from?!"
There’s no was she was there the whole time, right? It’s true that Tiffany could get lost in what she was doing once she was focused but it wasn’t to the point where she became completely unaware of her surroundings.
"I came by a few minutes ago... Y-you looked so invested in what you were doing that I didn’t want to bother you! I didn’t mean to pry."
Well, Tiffany could always upload those damn pictures from her room. Claire’s arrival just meant that it was time for her to leave. However, seeing that Tiffany started packing up her things, Claire panicked thinking that it’s her fault. Which was in fact, her fault... in a way.
"O-oh! You’re not going to finish your picnic? I’m so sorry, I’ll just leave! Throwing all of this good food away would be such a waste-"
"Are you fucking dumb?"
Did she not get that this was all only a set-up for taking pictures? It was obvious that Tiffany didn’t have any intention of eating or drinking any of that. Not to mention that after everything that happened the other day, she was still not scared of approaching her?
"I don’t give a damn about the food, it was just for my social media accounts you dumb bit- ... dimwit. I was already done anyway so you don’t have anything to do with the fact that I’m leaving."
"I see! T-then maybe I can help?!"
Help? What did Claire even know about- Actually, on second thought. This whole "cottagecore" shtick was a great fit for Claire. She probably already had all of the things Tiffany bought last week for those pictures, even better and more authentic-looking ones probably. This was maybe the one and only time Tiffany would let Claire "help" her. But from her point of view, she was mostly just using her.
"Hm. Is that so? How can you help me then... Claire."
"Wait just a second! I’ll be back right away!!!"
She ran immediately towards the dorms. Well, she'll probably bring a bunch of random stuff. In the end, Tiffany was really torn between the idea of staying and waiting for who knows how long and the idea of leaving right now. Surely, Claire would make a hilarious expression when she’d realize that she was played with and abandoned. While trying to laugh it off, Tiffany accidentally remembered what happened a few days ago, along with Claire’s crying face. Damn... Okay, fine. She’ll wait for her but only because it would be annoying if she bawled again like a damn toddler.
And so she waited until, from the corner of her eyes, she saw a girl with a pink dress running towards her. That girl, of course, being Claire. She carried a picnic basket with her too, but much bigger and more practical. For half a second, Tiffany thought that Claire actually looked maybe, just maybe, a little bit pretty. She erased the thought in a hurry, covering it with harsh words as usual.
"Wh-why did you change your clothes? You think I’m gonna take pictures of you?"
"Ah, no, well..."
Claire looked at the beautiful picnic set-up and the cyan dress Tiffany was wearing.
"I just wanted to fit in with the rest of what you put up, I guess. Also, don’t you think that we kinda match? I brought some of the cookies I baked and my favorite teas and tea set. I think mine will look better with your picnic blanket! Uh- N-not to say that yours looks bad!!!"
She was trying so hard to make herself likable that it was painful to see... and kinda cute. God, Tiffany was really hating her thoughts today. She was just going soft because of Claire’s aura or something. Again, this was definitely the first and last time she was letting Claire help her with anything. I’d be bad if she turns completely brain-dead and clueless like her.
"...Whatever. Show me what you got. I’ll decide if it’s good enough."
Claire was pulling everything out of the basket one by one. Everytime, better and better items were pulled out after the other. Her cakes and cookies gave off a "homey" feeling which was more fitting with the aesthetic rather than Tiffany’s store bought patisseries. Claire was staring at her, wide-eyed and excited.
"W-what do you think, Tiffany? It looks good, doesn’t it?!"
"Uh. Yeah, it’s fine, I guess. I’ll take a few pics."
That was a lie. This looked so much better than the try-hard bullshit Tiffany had done. She was good at riding on the "trend wave" but Claire was a natural when it came to this one specific thing. Tiffany was trying to look as poker-faced as she could so as to not show her satisfaction, but clearly, her apparent enthusiasm for each shot was  betraying her. Sometimes, she would accidentally take one with Claire in the shot and ask her to move.
"Hey. You’re ruining the picture with your ugly fac- dress. Move to the right."
Before Tiffany could even do anything about it, Claire was already pouring some tea into 2 cups.
"Woah woah woah, put the teapot down. I didn’t agree to this."
"But...This is a kettle, Tiffany. Not a teapot."
"Oh, shut it!"
Claire gave off such a dejected face that Tiffany, once again, felt like she was kicking a poor puppy to the ground. She held back on going off on a rant.
"But we’re already here and the weather is so nice! It would be such a shame not to use any of this at all..."
Claire looked around, observing this beautiful setting, not to mention, the sun was finally starting to set. Going home right now would be like an insult to the utter beauty of this scene, it almost looked like it came right out of a fairy tale picture book. Without mulling it over any further, Tiffany took a sip out of her cup.
"I’m only doing this because I feel compelled to, got it?"
Claire’s eyes lit up nonetheless.
"Alright! Please try out my cookies too!"
Tiffany contemplated them for a second... is it true that home-made stuff is more healthy? Surely, that’s just a myth, right? A cake from the store and a home-made cake will have about the same amount of sugar in them regardless of who made them and how. Well, she did see Claire share her food from time to time with her friends and while she would never admit it, it is true that she was a bit curious about trying them herself. What was the last time she had eaten anything "home-made"? Or did it ever even happen?
"...Okay, whatever. I bet they taste shitty."
Tiffany reluctantly took a bite... It was surprisingly really delicious!
"It’s bad."
"R-really?"
As much as she wanted to lie about it, she couldn’t after seeing Claire make that dejected face again.
"Uhhh. No, um. Hmm... On second thought, it’s pretty average. It’s okay-ish."
Tiffany really hated herself right now. Being mean has never been this hard before. She couldn’t wait for the moment where they would be done with this ridiculous play-pretend and go back to her room. She tried drinking and eating as fast as she could without making it look like she was in a hurry to run away from this awkward situation. And God, it was so fucking hard...
Unsurprisingly, they were both pretty silent the whole time. Well, it wasn’t like they had anything to converse about or things in common. Right as Tiffany was about to get up and pack up her belongings, for real this time, Claire spoke up. Nervously fiddling with the hem of her dress.
"Um. So you know, I have something to confess to you, Tiffany."
Oh God, not now. As much as Tiffany found this timing annoying, she couldn’t help but poke fun at that poor choice of words.
"Confess? Oh my, so you like me in that way, huh? That explains everything."
"Wha- N-no! That’s not it! I mean, realistically speaking, t-that would never even happen!"
Was she implying that she could never like someone like Tiffany? Well, Tiffany herself was the one who brought this up but she was a bit offended at that statement. Regardless though, the way she was trying to deny it so hard was kinda cute. No. Not cute at all! If this went on, Tiffany would really become crazy before the end of this day.
"Last time, you said that I was only being kind towards others to profit off of them and I didn’t say anything but... that wasn’t true at all! I always wanted to help you because I thought that you needed it, I swear. Not to satisfy myself! ... Well. Except maybe..."
"Except...?"
"T-today. I admit that I kind of had ulterior motives."
Now that piqued Tiffany’s curiousness right away. Suddenly, she didn’t want to leave as much anymore if it meant that Claire would finally admit that she did some things for her own benefit. Why was it? Did she want to post a picture of herself on Tiffany’s Instaglam to fish for compliments, knowing that she had a lot of followers? Claire hid her face behind her hands and muttered a few words.
"I... wanted you to warm up to me."
"...Huh?"
That’s it? That was it? Claire’s ulterior motive was for Tiffany to "warm up to her."?
"So like, you want us to be friends or some shit?"
"Oh no! Not necessarily that far, just... good acquaintances!"
Is she stupid? There’s no way that she genuinely thinks those "motives" are bad. Tiffany sighed in exasperation.
"Listen. I’m just really tired right now, I don’t have the energy to assimilate all the shit you’re saying. I’m packing all of this up and going back to the dorms."
In complete silence, they gathered all of their belongings and walked to the dorms while keeping a fair distance between the 2 of them. As if to say, "we’ve got nothing to do with each other." Surprisingly, Claire didn’t try anything anymore. Didn’t even wish for a "good night" or a "good evening" which was weird to say the least. Tiffany tried to ignore it and when she got back and unpacked all of the props, she noticed something that didn’t belong to her. One of Claire’s lunch boxes with cookies in them and... a note?
Here’s my number just in case ;3 Please give me my lunchbox back once you’re done eating the cookies!♡
"...Your note makes me wanna barf."
So that’s why she didn’t try anything. That sneaky little... she must've slid that into the basket when they were packing. She already knew that Tiffany would eventually be forced to talk to her again... as if! Who says she’ll return it? She can just throw all the cookies away along with the box... Or so she thought. Tempted, she took a bite, then another one. And another one. Her diet was ruined for sure now. Damn you Claire and your stupidly great cooking skills, as if you needed another skill to be better and more perfect than you already are. Tiffany put the box away, trying to forget the delicious taste and smell. Back to Instaglam she goes. Uploading the picture while adding the "marigold" tag on it. Going through the pictures again, she noticed that some of them had Claire in the corner. She was thinking of deleting them but... well whatever. She can just crop her out later if needed. Her dress looks pretty so it’s fine even if she does appear in the pictures. All we see is a bit of her hair, as long as her face isn’t visible, it’s okay. Yup. It was totally not because Tiffany was slowly starting to feel something towards the girl she was trying so hard not to get involved with.

Ladybug Week: Day 1 - First Date
Modern AU, 1.7k words
Ruby fidgeted nervously as she continued to stare at the front door to her apartment. Blake had told her she would pick her up at 6:30 sharp yet the green digital numbers on the nearby clock made he aware it was 6:40. She once again defaulted to smoothing out the skirt of her dress for the umpteenth time as she nervously wondered if Blake had somehow forgotten about their date. She soon shook off the notion as she realized there was no way Yang would have allowed her best friend to forget about her first date with her younger sister.
Ruby sunk into the old couch as she huffed with impatience. Why was it her idea to go to a fancy restaurant on their first date? She frowned slightly as she remembered Yang informing her that normally the fancy sort of restaurants she had in mind required some sort of a dress code. As a result, Ruby begrudgingly accepted the knee length red dress and black T-strap kitten heels her older sister had taken upon herself to purchase for her big night. Ruby hated dressing up, but this is what couples were supposed to do on their first date, right?
She glanced again towards the digital green numbers. 6:42 was displayed. Realizing only two agonizing minuets had passed, Ruby groaned as she threw her head against the back of the couch. The universe was really going to make her suffer in this stuffy outfit for hours before-
A knock as the door startled her to her feet; Blake was finally here! Ruby quickly scampered over to the entrance of the apartment before smoothing her dress for the final time. After a few deep breaths, she opened the door.
Sure enough, Blake stood on the other side. Ruby stared at her in awe as she took in the lovely cold shoulder purple gradient dress Blake had decided to wear that night.
“Wow, you look super pretty,” Ruby breathed out.
Blake couldn’t help but blush slightly at Ruby’s reaction. “Thanks, you look really cute as well.”
Ruby felt her heart swell at her date’s compliment. Perhaps her outfit wouldn’t prove to be such a downer to her night after all.
“Shall we?” Blake inquired as she moved over to allow Ruby to exit the doorway.
The duo began navigating their way out of the apartment building, making small talk as they went. By the time they had reached Blake’s car however, the conversation had been replaced by slightly uncomfortable silence.
“Um, Ruby, can I make a small confession?” Blake hesitated as they had finished buckling their seatbelts.
Suddenly feeling extremely self-conscious, all Ruby could manage was an awkward nod.
“I know going to this restaurant was your idea, but those sort of places aren’t exactly my…thing. I know I should’ve said something earlier, but I guess I was scared of disappointing you since you seemed so enthusiastic about it.”
Ruby could hardly believe the words she was hearing. Blake was just as uncomfortable with the thought of going to a stuffy high-end place as she was?
“Same! Honestly, I thought this is what you’re supposed to do on first dates. I didn’t really want to go either. I just didn’t want you to think the girl asking you out was this total lameo loser weirdo type of person…”
Blake couldn’t help but softly giggle at her date’s self- deprecating response.
“I don’t think you’re any of those things, Ruby. Believe me I’m flattered that you wanted to treat me to something so nice, but I’m quite relieved you feel similarly to the situation as I do.”
Ruby’s heart fluttered as she took in the genuine look of relief and appreciation on Blake’s face.
“Can I also confess something? I hate wearing these stupid things,” she muttered as she lightly kicked her feet against the car floor.
Blake found herself giggling again. Ruby seemed to have a habit of making her laugh more than she was used to.
“Well, I mean what I said back there. I think you look lovely tonight.”
Ruby diverted her gaze to her lap as she felt her cheeks warm.
“You can thank Yang for that. She went out and got me all this stuff.”
Blake hummed thoughtfully as she turned the key in the ignition. Soon after the old Camry purred to life.
“Since we’re in agreement then, how about a little change of plans? There’s this new coffee shop that opened on the other side of town that’s supposedly Edgar Allen Poe themed. I’ve been dying to go check it out, but only if you want to of course. I don’t mean to hijack your date idea or anyt-”
Let’s go!” Ruby interjected. She was practically bouncing in her seat with the giddiness of knowing Blake wanted to share this new experience with her.
~~
After 20 minutes of driving, Ruby and Blake arrived at the Nevermore Coffee and Tea House. Both girls grinned as the rich comforting scent of ground coffee beans met their nostrils. True to Blake’s word, the interior of the coffee shop oozed dark gothic aesthetic as the duo took in the dark colors and ravens scattered throughout the place. In the far corner a young women sat on a small stage with a guitar as she sang a gentle somber tune. Not far from her, a large book shelf covered the wall with rows of multicolored spines filling its shelves.
“I can see why you wanted to come here. This place is so cool!” Ruby bounced in place as she continued to soak up the atmosphere. “This so beats that dumb fancy restaurant.”
Blake smiled fondly at Ruby’s enthusiasm. It was so adorable how excitable she was over most anything. The anxiety and worry both girls felt earlier that evening had completely melted away and instead was replaced with the warm embrace of coffee and pastries.
After grabbing a table, both Ruby and Blake scoured the menu for potential treats. A truffle mac and cheese caught Ruby’s eye in addition to a cup of dirt (homemade chocolate pudding with a cookie crumble on top) and hazelnut hot chocolate. Blake meanwhile settled on French onion soup with an almond croissant and a cup chocolate rose tea.
Once both girls had placed their orders, Ruby noticed Blake’s gaze fixed on the large bookshelf. Apparently the shop had an “open book” policy in which you were free to take a book from the shop so long as you left one in its place.
“Ugh, I have so many good books I could’ve left here,” Blake huffed in disappointment. “I have to remember to bring one next time we come back.”
Ruby once again felt her heart flutter at the implication of Blake wanting to return to this place again. With her no less! The thought filled her mind with glee as they both navigated the bookshelf for something good to read. Ruby settled on an action manga she hadn’t heard of while Blake had selected an old poetry book.
“’Demon Slayer’ huh? I think I heard about that one from somewhere,” Blake though aloud as they both made their way back to their table. “I think it’s supposed to be good. You’ll probably like it.”
Ruby beamed at her selection knowing it was Blake approved.
“Well I don’t see what can be more fitting to read at an Edgar Allen Poe coffee shop than a poetry book. I’ve never been that good with words though,” Ruby admitted.
“I’m not that fond of writing poetry either, but reading it can be enjoyable. Some people are a lot better about articulating their thoughts and feelings than I am.”
“Tell me about it,” Ruby agreed wholeheartedly.
After several minutes of comfortable silence with each girl fully engrossed in their reading selections, their food had arrived to their table. Blake started with a small sip from her tea and was pleasantly surprised to how good it was. Ruby meanwhile sank her spoon into a glob of mac and cheese admiring the stretches of cheese still attached to her spoon as she bought it to her mouth.
“Oh my god I’ve never had mac and cheese this good before,” Ruby gushed with her mouth still full. She swallowed before continuing, “Yang’s isn’t even as good as this. Oh, don’t tell her I said that though.”
Blake smirked as she bought the piping hot cup of tea to her lips once more. “Don’t worry, it’ll be our little secret,” she said with a playful wink.
The rest of the evening went extremely well with both girls talking about whatever came to their minds: the books they were reading, what sort of character tropes they enjoyed, how the live performer definitely forgot the last verse to her own song. Unlike earlier that evening, the minuets seemed to fly by like cars on the highway.
By the time Blake and Ruby returned to the apartment building it was nearly 11pm. Yang had given Ruby a “soft” return time of midnight, but Ruby didn’t want to leave Yang awake all night waiting for her to get home safely (which she would definitely have done).
“Tonight was so fun! Thanks for changing the plans Blake, I had an awesome time!”
Blake made no effort to hold back the grin that was spreading across her face.
“I did too. Thank you for asking me out. Next time you can chose where to go.”
Ruby narrowed her eyes affectionately as she stretched her hand out.
“Pinky promise?”
Blake followed suit by wrapping her own pinky around Ruby’s.
“Absolutely.”
“Good,” Ruby replied simply. Before Blake could say anything more, Ruby went ahead and quickly placed a chaste kiss on her lips.
“See you soon!” She blurted out before dashing out of the car and into the building out of sight.
Blake sat there stunned, her arm still outstretched. She didn’t need to look into the rearview mirror to know that her face was red as a tomato.
“Oh god, I hope my breath didn’t smell like onions...”

April 3rd Five times Matt is impatient for Katie/Pidge to grow up, and the one time he wishes he had been patient.
Happy Birthday, Pidge!
(Also on my AO3!)
i.
He’s so young when his grandparents take him to the hospital to see his parents and his new baby sister, and yet, despite how young, he still remembers the day she was born as if it was yesterday.
He remembers running into the hospital room, seeing his mothers weary but smiling face as he holds a pink blanket in her arms, and his father telling him to come forward. He’s lifted up and set on the bed, while his mother shows the little girl that is in the bundle of pink blankets. Her face was so chubby, and so rosy, and she was so small. He wondered if he was that small, and wonders if she’ll be afraid of him because he’s bigger than her. All the nerves are coming to him as he looks over his sleeping baby sister, not even realizing his mother asks if he wanted to hold her. It takes his father to call out to him a few times before he responds, and he ends up curling his fingers into his pants, biting his lip.
“I don’t want to hurt her,” he replies, saying to low, but loud enough for his parents to hear.
His parents exchange looks, then their smiles widen.
“What makes you think you’ll hurt her?”
“She’s so small! And what if she wakes up when she’s in my arms and she starts crying?” Now all these worries are filling poor little Matt’s head. “What if she’s scared of me? What if she hates me? What if I’m not--”
“Matthew,” his mother calls out, keeping him from babbling his worries more. “relax, sweetie. Katie’s going to love you, and you’re going to be a wonderful big brother.”
Matt blinks then his eyes light up, “Katie?”
“Kathryn Elizabeth Holt,” his mother says. “Katie, for short. It’s a great name, isn’t it?”
“..Yeah.” Matt looks at his baby sister again, then a smile goes on his face. “I wanna hold her.”
His mother laughs, “I thought so.”
His parents help him get Katie into the right position in his arms, and he’s staring down at her sleeping face while his parents and grandparents watch with wide smiles on their faces. It’s only seconds later that Katie makes noises and Matt’s ready to freak out and hand her back, but her eyes open and the two of them make eye contact for a moment and it seems like all of Matt’s worries and doubts faded away just like that.
Matt’s smile could light up the whole town, “Hey, Katie.. I’m your big brother..”
And Katie blinks then smiles and there’s baby giggling and Matt freezes.
“She smiled at me. She smiled at me!”
“See? I told you she’d love you.” his mother says.
“I’m going to be the best big brother to you,” Matt tells Katie, even though she’s only minutes old and doesn’t quite understand him yet. “I can’t wait until you grow up so I can teach you so many things.”
ii.
It’s her first birthday and Katie’s still small.
It raised concern, and they tried to feed her more, but she eats so slow and doesn’t finish her bottles. It could be because she’s still developing, and they’ve been to the doctors for annual check ups but her weight seemed normal to them. It’s just that Matt had been a chunky baby and ate a lot, but was also spoiled rotten so that explains why the Holt parents are so concerned for their second little one.
Matt had helped his mother bake a cake for Katie’s first birthday – a small cake all to herself! Vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting and piping around the edges and a big pink and white candle in the shape of a one in the middle of it. The whole family is over, and there’s presents for Katie to rip apart. They sing happy birthday and have her blow out the candles. At first she looks at the flame a little confused so Matt steps up and shows her what to do. Instead, she grabs a fistful of cake – without blowing out the candle – and shoves it in Matt’s face.
“Katie! No!”
“Share!” Katie shouts, but her smile is wide. “Share..with.. Matt!”
“You have to blow out your candle first..” Matt mumbles. “I’ll do it with you?”
Katie’s smile is wider and she nods quick. Matt grins and counts down and Katie prepares herself to blow out the candle. Except, Matt blows it out, and as soon as he does, Katie shoves him, face first, into the cake that was meant for her.
There’s gasps coming from the family, which is followed by giggles. Matt lifts his head up, wiping cake and icing off his face. He’s not pleased, and yet he’s not going to yell at Katie because she just turned one, and he knows she doesn’t know any better. But she’s clapping her hands and laughing like mad, her pale cheeks turning red from how hard she’s laughing. Matt huffs, wiping some icing off his face and spreading it on her cheek. And then the laughter stops for a moment, and Katie blinks at first, processing what happened.
..And then she goes back to laughing.
“Well.. she wanted to share with you,” his father says between laughs. He bends down with a washcloth, helping Matt wipe his face off. “Looks like she did.”
“Oh, just you wait,” Matt says, narrowing his eyes at his laughing baby sister, a smirk across his laugh. “Just you wait until you grow up. I’m going to shove your face into a cake one day.”
iii.
Katie’s five, and she’s been growing bit by bit, though she still eats like a bird – slow and doesn’t eat much. Matt came to the conclusion that Katie was part bird, and with how interested she seemed in pigeons when they went to the park, Matt decides to nickname her ‘Pidge’. Which Katie hates, and pouts and whines when he uses it, and Matt laughs each time.
She’s about to start kindergarten and she’s nervous – so so nervous that she can’t sleep. Her parents bought her new clothes, new hair ties and ribbons – new everything for her to be prepared for the biggest day of her life: Going to kindergarten. Preschool was one thing, but now she’ll be in the same building as other big kids, and they’re going to be huge compared to her. She’s all tucked into her bed, her parents out at work for another hour or so, so Matt’s been looking after her. He had left her so she could sleep, but when he walks past her bedroom – dimly lit by her nightlight – he notices her eyes still wide open. Concerned, he steps in, knocking on her bedroom door, which makes her jump at first.
“Can’t sleep?”
“No..” Katie admits, and pushes her blanket off of her. She sits up, fingers curling into her comforter.
“Do you want me to read you another story?” Matt suggests, going to her bookcase. “I could read to you about astrology and the constellations--”
“Matt,” Katie calls out, but doesn’t make eye contact with her brother. “..Is kindergarten gonna be scary?”
Matt blinks at first, but his lips curl up into a smile and makes way to Katie’s bed, where he sits on the edge, “That’s what has you awake?”
Katie nods.
“It’s not scary,” Matt tells her. “and I’m being honest here. Kindergarten is fun – with snack time and nap time, plus my teacher was great! There’s going to be sing-a-longs, and story time, and each kid has a special job to do every week. One cleans up the art supplies, one is the line leader, one is in charge of bringing snacks for that week..”
“Sounds like a lot of work...”
“It’s not,” Matt reassures. “It’s really fun and you’ll make a lot of new friends. I promise you that.”
Katie bites her lip, still unsure but she should trust her big brother. After all, he’s been through all of this so he should know what he’s talking about.
“W..will you read me another story? The star one?”
“The constellations, you mean?” Matt questions and Katie nods her head. “Of course. And when you get to kindergarten, you can impress all of them on how much you know.”
Katie grins wide, “Yeah!”
“I can’t wait until you’re a little older so you can come with dad and I when we stargaze,” Matt says as he retrieves the book and joins Katie back on the bed. “You’d love it, Pidge. You’re a smart girl, I’m sure you’d be interested in space.”
iv.
She’s done with grade school and into middle school now, and she comes home one day, running to her room in a rush and shutting her bedroom door with a slam. Matt flinches when he hears it, and he glances over at his wall in concern. It seems like everyday, Katie is coming home in a bad mood and crying her eyes out, and demands to be left alone. Matt sometimes leaves her, other times he brings her cake or cookies and tries to get her to talk but she doesn’t respond. This time, he decides that he’ll go to her room and not leave her until she talks. Besides, that’s what he signed up for when he wanted to become a big brother so badly.
“Pidge?” Matt calls out from her door. “Can I-”
“Go away!”
Matt sighs, wondering he even bothered to ask when he was just going to come in anyway. He turns the door knob slowly, pushing open her door and shutting it behind him. There Katie lies, face down on her bed, but her face buried into her pillows. She yells at Matt, though it’s muffled through her pillow, and even though she yelled, Matt shows no sign of moving anytime soon – not even if she threw something.
“I’m not leaving, Pidge,” Matt declares, leaning against her bedroom door. “You’ve been coming home really upset and I’ve had it. I want you to tell me what’s been going on at school.”
“None of your business!” she shouts. “And I told you not to call me Pidge!”
And there goes the pillow, being thrown at Matt’s head, but Matt ducks in time, where it hits the door behind him. When he looks back up, he sees the angry look on Katie’s face but there’s tears running down her face and he feels his heart break into a million pieces. Who is making his sister so upset? Who is making her cry this hard? Matt has a serious look on his face, slowly walking forward towards Katie’s bed, where she pulls her knees up to her chest and buries her face into her knees. Matt sits on her bed, but makes no more movements.
“Please talk to me, Katie,” Matt begs. “I’ve left you alone all this time, thinking you’ll come to me at some point, but you just seem to be hurting more and more with each passing day.”
Silence.
“Please. It breaks my heart seeing you like this. And I won’t tell mom and dad if you prefer it. I promise.”
Katie sniffles and looks up from her knees, “..Promise?”
“Cross my heart.” Matt says. Katie thinks about it for a moment, and she sniffles and hiccups. It’s then that Matt comes closer, hand on her back, rubbing it slowly. “Something is going on at school, isn’t it?”
“They call me a nerd,” Katie mutters. “they call me a nerd because I know too much, and participate a lot in class, and get high grades and so much praise from the teachers.”
“And being a nerd is a bad thing?” Matt questions, raising an eyebrow. “Your big brother is a nerd.”
“You’re studying to become a pilot though! And go into space! It’s different..”
“Mm.. not really,” Matt shrugs. “Katie, all I’m saying is.. being a nerd isn’t a bad thing. I know how much it must hurt – actually, I do know. I was called a nerd a lot back in middle school and it hurt. It took talking to mom and dad about my problems weeks after that started when they told me not to look into the now so much. Because.. so what if you’re a nerd? You’re learning about things you love, and what you’re passionate about. And if it makes you a nerd to learn more about space and what’s out there, then so be it! They’re just jealous because they don’t have a Holt brain.”
“..A Holt brain?”
“A Holt brain contains so much knowledge. We don’t knock anything out – instead our brains get bigger and bigger and suck up everything like a sponge,” Matt says. “How do you think I know so much?”
Katie blinks, thinking for a moment, but doesn’t come up with an answer.
“Because I’m a nerd,” Matt answers for her. “and it’s fine to be a nerd, Katie. You’re studying alongside me to get into the Galaxy Garrison one day, too. Just you wait until that happens. When you’re older, your old classmates are going to be praising you instead of picking on you! They’ll be begging to be your friend then!”
Katie smiles a little, “You really think so?”
“I know so.”
A small laugh escapes Katie and she wipes away her tears with the back of her hand, “I guess.. Thanks, Matt.”
“No problem, Pidge.” Matt pats her on the shoulder and gets up from the bed. “Now, come on. Let’s go downstairs and steal cookies before dinner.”
“I told you not to call me Pidge,” but Katie’s smile is still wide. “But I’ll let it slide, just this once.”
v.
It’s a week after her fifteenth birthday when the news flashes across the screen.
Kerberos Mission Failed due to Pilot Error. Her fathers picture, her brothers picture, and Takashi Shirogane’s picture flashes across the screen along with the caption. She remembers coming down the stairs and seeing her mom staring at the television screen completely frozen. Katie’s frozen, too, standing at the steps and listening to the news report from there.
It was just a week ago that their scheduled call goes through, and the whole crew wished Katie a happy birthday. Matt even went and sang ‘happy birthday’ to her, totally off key, which made her embarrassed but laugh so loudly that made her father, Matt, and Takashi smile wide. They apologize for not being there for her fifteenth birthday, and Katie says they’ll make it up to her next year when they’re back from their mission to Kerberos.
And now Katie feels as if she jinxed that, because she’s not even certain if her father, brother, and Takashi are going to come back home. But Takashi was an amazing pilot – there had to be something the Galaxy Garrison was hiding from everyone.
“You better come back. Or I’m coming up in space to get you.”
She still has a year before she could enroll into the Garrison, but with a little hacking she could change her birth date. She even debates changing her name, too, so none of the teachers give her sympathy about what happened to the Kerberos crew.
And after she’s kicked off the Garrison property, she decides to hack into the Garrison and change her name, birth date, and age. She even goes as far as cutting her hair short.
“I’m coming for you, Matt,” Katie tells herself in the mirror, after all her long hair is gone. It’s choppy, and messy, but with some styling, who is going to notice? “I don’t know how long it’ll take, but I’m coming.”
Meanwhile, somewhere in a Galra prison, Matt has his knees curled up to his chest, wondering how much he’s missing Katie grow up stuck there, and how much he’s going to miss, depending how long he’s stuck there.
+i.
Hunk had created something that converts Altean time and dates into Earth time, though he doesn’t think it’s exact – most likely far from it – but it’s the closest thing they have. He hasn’t really worked out the time, but the dates and year was another thing.
Matt looks it when the third of April is circled. His eyes widen. Katie’s birthday. Or well, he should say Pidge’s birthday now, since she doesn’t seem to hate that name any longer. It’s funny how his little sister grew up from hating the nickname to using it to get into the Garrison.
He searches out for Pidge, only to find out from Coran that Voltron is fighting Galra at the moment, but their fight is nearing the end so the paladins will be coming back shortly. Matt should have known – he had woken up to the alarms, but had ended up going right back to bed. And besides, his little sister is a paladin of Voltron, and she has a job to do, and just because he’s back and their father is (hopefully) back on Earth, he can’t expect her to stop everything and stop fighting the Galra. There’s still several that are rebelling against Lotor and they have to do all they can to change their minds or make sure he’s not killed on his throne.
After all, Voltron and Lotor are a team now, even though it sets some of them off. But Allura has no doubts or worries in the slightest.
Matt counts the ticks until the paladins come back, and Matt waits in the lions hangars. Specifically, he waits in Green’s, and when the lion zooms in, Matt has his arms at his side and hands balled into fists. He waits for his little sister to come out of the big mechanical lion, but she comes out slower than expected, and when she does come out--
“You’re injured..” Matt says, eyes wide and filled with worry. Heart thumping hard against his chest, he runs to Pidge, though she shows no sign of pain nor does she look like she’ll topple over any minute either. “What the hell happened?”
“Stupid sentry got me with their gun,” Pidge explains, taking her helmet off and running a hand through her hair while her other arm holds her helmet. “It’s not as bad as it looks. Besides, I’m used to it.”
Matt doesn’t know if his eyes could get any wider. She’s used to it? Matt swallows, his eyes stinging with the tears that threaten to fall. He should have known. After all, his little sister is a paladin of Voltron, and has been fighting Galra for a long time, with so many stories to tell and with her getting stronger with each passing quintant. She’s grown up so much since he’s been gone, and he’s missed so much of it. Take him back to the day where she was first born, and her first birthday where she shoved his face into the cake. Take him back to the day where his little sister would come into his room with nightmares, where she clung onto her older brother and wouldn’t let him go. Take him back to the past, where he’ll tell his younger self to be patient with her growing up, because in a blink of an eye, you might miss something.
Over the years, he’s been looking over her. He swore to himself he’d be a great big brother, and as she grows up, he’d be teaching all these things. He was impatient with her growing up, but knew he had to try to be patient, since babies are still developing and it’d take her a while to understand certain things or do certain things. But that didn’t stop him from teaching her about space and rocket ships and constellations as she was growing, and by the time she was thirteen and about to enter middle school, she knew all these things about space and impressed her teachers. (Not so much her fellow students, though.)
He remembers telling her when she was in middle school, when she was picked on for being a nerd, that she should wait until she grows up and she’ll be someone famous. And now it seems like that went by in a blink of an eye, and his little sister is a paladin of Voltron, defending the universe, and getting injured so many times that she’s used to it by now. He misses when she has sick as a kid, and he’d worry about her and wait on her hand and foot, not even wanting to go to school. Or when she injures her ankle tripping over a root in the ground when the family goes camping, and he carries her on his back the whole time.
And now she grew up, to where pain is nothing and a shot to the side is barely anything to worry about. God.. where did the time go?
“Matt?” Pidge calls out, pulling her brother from his thoughts. “You’re crying.”
“I’m crying?” Matt is in disbelief, but he raises a hand to his cheek, where he feels the tears on his cheeks. “Huh.. guess I am.”
“What’s the matter?”
“Nothing,” is Matt’s response at first, but Pidge raises an eyebrow. “..You-- you’ve just grown up so much, Katie.. I’m just reminiscing. You’ve grown up so much and I feel as if I missed so much of it. I looked at the calendar Hunk made, and it’s the third of April..”
“Seriously? Time goes by fast.” Pidge comments, still messing with her hair. “..I didn’t even notice.”
“Mhm.”
“I also know I grew up a lot. I had the thought of you and dad keeping me going, never making me stop studying or searching for both of you,” Pidge continues on. “I had a great big brother to look up to as I was growing up, so I guess I was impatient with how long it takes me to grow up when I wanted to be like you.”
“Well, you copied my hairstyle and stole my glasses--”
“You gave me your glasses, thank you,” Pidge interrupts, huffing. “and I had to cut my hair. The Garrison kicked me off the property. But I mean.. I wanted to be as strong as you, and be the one to protect you at some point when you’ve done so much for me.”
“You’ve protected me, mom and dad, and thousands of others on Earth and in the galaxy because you’re a Paladin of Voltron,” Matt tells her. “So I think you’re plenty strong, and you’ve done what you wanted to do. Even though in a blink of an eye, you went from being my small baby sister, just minutes old to.. this.”
“Yeah, well.. Just because I grew up so fast, doesn’t mean I’m still not your baby sister,” Pidge notes. “Not really small anymore, but I’m still your baby sister, Matt.”
“Heh.. I guess you have a point.”
“And I could really use my big brother right now to give me a piggy back ride to the infirmary,” Pidge adds on. “My side doesn’t hurt bad, but I could still use more disinfectant and a proper bandage.”
Matt grins wide, and turns around, going down on one knee so Pidge could hop on his back, “All aboard the Matt Holt Express.”
Pidge snorts, “You’re such a nerd.”
“Takes one to know one, Katie.”

Being best friends with Bill Denbrough would include:
I know exactly why I’m crying in the club. Why? Oh it’s because I’m not best friends with Bill Denbrough and did I mention that he isn’t real? Yeah. He isn’t real.
Brb lemme take my ass to a corner and cry thanks
(A lil irrelevant but I’m posting another imagine or headcanon after this just bc I reached 500+ followers yayy💓💓 thanks smmmm ❤️)
Tumblr media
Him lending you his flannels and him giving you his sweater whenever you get cold.
You going to each other’s houses to hang out, do homework, watch movies, or to simply just talk.
You sitting on the back of his bike whenever you guys go to places
He would pick you up every morning (with Silver of course) and go to school and he also drops you off home
Your parents trust and love Bill so you frequently had sleepovers
During the disappearances, Bill was so protective of you because he didn’t want to lose you like he lost Georgie:
“Do you need a ride home?”
“Bill I’m fine walking home, really.”
“I can’t let you w-walk home by y-yourself, what if s-something happens to you? I don’t want that t-to happen Y/N.”
“Bill, really, it’s fine.”
“It’ll m-make me feel b-better knowing t-that I took y-you home, p-please just let me t-take you home.”
During the disappearances, he would always hold your hand whenever you two hung out at night outside. The other losers would tease Bill about it, but he doesn’t care. He feels at ease while holding your hand because he knows you’re there and you’re not going anywhere. Pennywise would have to tear his fucking hand and arm before he could take you away.
When Bev was kidnapped by IT he didn’t want you to come with him and the losers to rescue her because he was afraid that IT would take you too. He literally yelled at you to stay home and he felt so bad about it afterwards like oh my gosh he cried.
You protested though, you wanted to beat the shit out of that clown for taking Bev so you ended up going and you best believe you beat the shit out of that clown.
Him spoiling you despite your protests. He would always offer to buy you something: Have your eye on a certain chocolate at the convienience store? He’ll buy it for you. Popcorn and drinks at the movies? He’ll pay for it, etc.
During your birthday he goes all out with your gifts. He doesn’t do store bought gifts by the way. One time he wrote you a song (with the help of Ben and Richie lmfao) and he actually performed it even though he was nervous as fuck (that boy can sing holy shit). Another gift of his was a large painting of you sitting at the edge of the quarry (he painted it by memory) fuck it was beautiful. You hung it front and center above your bed headboard and whenever you’re sad you would look at it and instantly felt better.
Sleepovers with Bill are always so fun. You would blast music on your record player and you guys would dance together. Now Bill isn’t really the type of person to just go wild like that, but with you he loosens up a bit.
One time during one of your many sleepovers, you two climbed on top of your roof to stargaze.
One time you dated this guy and he turned out to be a big douche bag, so Bill pulled up outside of the guy’s house (with the losers) and they kinda just gave him a piece of their mind.
You two would always go to school dances together. Some girls would ask Bill to the dance and he would immediately turn them down bc he’s already going with his best friend. You would also do the same.
You guys met when both of you were around 5 years old. He shared his cupcake with you and bam instant friendship.
Whenever you’re feeling down or sad, Bill would always give you flowers.
Piggy. Back. Rides
He would always ask about your day and he genuinely listens because he loves listening to you talk about how your day went.
Whenever he misses Georgie, he would always come to you for comfort.
You’re mostly the subject of his drawings and paintings. He likes drawing and painting you.
Richie would always tease you two because of how close you two are to each other.
Richie would always hit on you and whenever he goes too far, Bill’s always the first one to step in.
You were sometimes Greta’s target for harassment and bullying. When Bill found out that she was bullying you oh man he was so angry. Angry to the point where he confronted her and told her: “Fuck off you annoying bitch, find something else to do other than trying to take down people who are much better than you.” He. Did. Not. Stutter. Once
You take care of each other when one of you is sick.
You guys would sometimes bake cookies together. It was mostly you who did the work though because Bill doesn’t know what he’s doing.
You slept over at Bill’s house one time and you guys stayed up pretttttty late. While staying up, you guys talked about the future. Ya know, marriage and all that crap.
You two made an oath that if neither of you is married before the age of 40, you would marry each other.
You ended up marrying each other by the way. You didn’t even have to wait until the two of you were 40 years old and lonely.
Hello yes, where can I get a Bill Denbrough? Asking for a friend.

The Saga of Geraldine (Knight Rook)
Summary: All kids have imaginary friends, and Alice is certainly no exception. Follow Killian as he takes us through the life and times of his wonderful daughter’s invisible invitee.
Hi! Here’s a little piece of Knight Rook fluff/angst/comfort that hit me last week like a truck to the face! Also, SERIOUS credit to @killianmesmalls for her inspiring a certain aspect of this fic.
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
Children had imaginary friends. This made sense Alice would too. Honestly, looking back, Killian would’ve been surprised if she didn’t, especially given her unique situation.
Geraldine was her name, and according to Alice, she was a white rabbit the size of a bear.
This also made sense. The first stories he read to Alice were about the adventures of fictional animals. Books with them were affordable, filled with beautiful pictures that could take her to the lushest of forests, deepest of oceans, and coldest of tundras, and were practically guaranteed to be child friendly, so Killian bought them for Alice as often as he could. When he read those stories, two creatures tended to stick out the most to his sole audience member: Rabbits and bears. Alice loved how the pictures in her books made rabbits look so soft. Bears, she adored for their strength and size. Alice, for as sweet as she was, was equal parts tough and strong as well. During the occasional tickle fight, Killian wouldn’t be shocked to find himself tackled or otherwise sore by the end of it.
Because of that, Geraldine had the appearance of the gentlest of bunnies (She described Geraldine as the “cuddliest friend on Earth”) and at the same time was fluffy and well-built enough that she could withstand her daughter’s wrath with ease.
Killian immediately realized what Geraldine was when they were introduced, and never for a second had any intention of taking this friend away from Alice. So, when asked to play along in her little game, no matter how small or large a role it required, he was more than happy to oblige. He often invited Geraldine to stay for dinner, cutting half of his own food to make a little portion for her, only eating the partial portion when Alice was well and fully asleep. When asked to cuddle with them, Killian would pretend Geraldine’s fur was softer than silk.
This also meant being creative when his daughter tried to use her friend for less than innocent purposes. One time, Alice, while he was out on a supply run, had broken a porcelain candle holder that sat by her bed, and when it came time to press her about the subject, she had blamed Geraldine. Killian, after a short period of deliberation, decided that as punishment, there would be no sweets after dinner for either of the girls, and while Alice pouted, justice had ultimately been served.
Through good days and bad, Geraldine served the part of making Alice’s childhood just a little less lonely, and she did it well.
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
“Papa!” Alice called, her tone clearly distressed.
It had been a fairly normal and carefree day. Killian, who had been relaxing on his armchair, half-asleep, sprung to life, taking a swordsman’s stance.
He looked around the room until he spotted his daughter. Alice, hardly a month past seven years, looked so panicked. She was jittering and her eyes were begging for help.
“What’s going on, Alice?” he asked, approaching her.
She gestured for him to lower to her level. When she was able to reach his ear, she cuffed her tiny hands around it and leaned in.
“It’s Geraldine’s birthday, and I didn’t get her a present!” Alice loudly whispered.
Killian went through a flurry of emotions over the course of five seconds. In order, they were shock, frustration, annoyance, and relief.
“Alice, my love. You shouldn’t scare me like that.” Alice guiltily looked down to her feet.
“I’m sorry, Papa. I just didn’t want to let her down.”
Her remorse clear, Killian was quick to forgive her. “It’s alright, my love.”
The question now put itself out there: What were they to get an imaginary friend for their birthday?
Fortunately, if life had blessed Killian with anything, it was the ability to think quicker than the very ship he gave up to be here.
“Where is Geraldine?” Alice slightly gestured her head backwards and to the side. He gave her a grin. “I’ve just the thing.” His daughter released a hushed squee and hugged him fiercely. “Shall we go over there and give it to her?” Alice nodded, and the two went over to the spot she pointed out.
“Hello Geraldine, and Happy Birthday!” Killian said to the open air.
“Papa,” Alice called. “We’re down here on the bed.” Killian chuckled, and turned accordingly.
“My apologies, girls.” Killian continued. “Well, as previously said, Happy Birthday, Geraldine. For this year, Alice and I have come up with a little song for you, one I will now sing.”
Once again, Alice squealed in delight.
Killian knew two things to be undeniable truths. The first thing was that he was quite the wordsmith. The second was that if his baby girl loved anything in this world, it was hearing her Papa sing.
“I call this “The Saga of Geraldine.”” Killian began tapping his toe to get a feel for the rhythm that the song required, and once he had it settled, he started clapping to the beat too. The end result was very much like the sea shanties he grew up hearing.
Geraldine, Geraldine A friend like you has never been seen You’re always nice, not ever mean So we sing of the saga of Geraldine
By the end of the first verse, Alice was doubled over in laughter. It was times like these where Killian was happy that it was just the two of them up here. He was pretty sure he’d be eternally red if anyone outside of this tower ever learned that he had sung a song for an imaginary bear-sized rabbit.
Geraldine, Geraldine Your fur has the prettiest sheen And you’re so damn tall, it’s almost obscene But we still sing the saga of Geraldine
“Papa, language!” Alice playfully scolded. Killian had accidentally swore in front of her quite a few times, but always walked back on them and told her not to use such language. Alice always giggled when he dropped a swear word, and after a while, it became a joke between the two of them.
Killian, still keeping the beat, stuck his tongue out at his daughter just before continuing, much to her amusement.
Geraldine, Geraldine You’re the best friend to my little queen You make her laugh ‘till she hurts her spleen That’s why we made the saga of Geraldineeeeeeeee!
As he held out that last elongated note, Killian smiled at himself. Not only had he come up with a song, practically on the spot, but had managed to give it a big finish. Alice certainly appreciated it. She was on her side, laughing so hard that Killian was worried she might lose her voice or her breath if she didn’t stop soon.
Of course, an encore was demanded, and then an encore after that. By that evening, Alice had the song down by heart. Killian would later be tempted to wish himself deaf after a few days of the song, but Alice’s smile was worth its annoying catchiness one hundred and twelve times over and then some.
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
It was only when Alice was eight that her grandest illusion was finally destroyed.
“Geraldine’s not real, is she, Papa?” Killian, after getting over the shock of the question itself, bit his lip. He knew this day was coming, and he knew no matter what, it would be a hard one. It would be the final farewell to the closest thing that Alice could call a friend in this cursed life she’d been unfairly saddled with.
“W-what makes you say that?” He knew he couldn’t stop the truth from hammering down, but he wanted to understand why it was happening. He had still played along with the idea of Geraldine just as he had since she first appeared in his and Alice’s lives.
Alice was now blubbering. “I-I don’t see her the way I used to. It used to be that she was just there. Now, I have to squint and focus to make her appear, and it’s just harder and I realize…”
Killian bent down onto his knees so that he was at her eye level. He placed his hand on her shoulder. “What was it you realized, darling?”
“I don’t have to do that with you.” Alice answered. “When I want Geraldine to go away, I can just make her go away, but I can’t with you. You’re always here, and I don’t have to make you be here. When you’re mean or bossy, you’re still here with me.”
For a moment, Killian simply marveled at how perceptive his girl was. Her mental state for someone imprisoned for so long was impressive. Her childlike imagination was as strong as any others, but when the time came to admit that dreams were dreams, she was able to do it.
And now he had to play his part in laying them to rest.
Killian didn’t want to do this. It was like telling a child that Santa didn’t exist (He himself then realized that that would be a sad confession for another day).
Just before he was about to fully end things, to tell her once and for all that Geraldine wasn’t real, he asked himself: Did he need to?
Well, of course he needed to. He wasn’t about to open the door to something unhealthy like prolonging the inevitable, especially when she had mostly reached the conclusion on her own.
However, there was another angle to take, one that would still honor all that Geraldine had been to Alice, and one that wouldn’t leave her feeling bare.
“Alice, Geraldine isn’t a creature made of flesh or fur or hair or bones like you and I,” Killian admitted softly. “But she is real. She’s the adventures you went on. She’s the stories you told her. She’s tea parties and cookie jar raids and tickle fights. She’s memories. Do you understand?” Alice nodded, though she still looked confused and worse, sad. “Everything that you two shared, all that time. Geraldine by herself might not be real, but that all is.”
A smile, now only a touch sad appeared upon his daughter’s face. Killian pulled her in for a hug. She was still crying - he could feel it through his shirt, but he knew that when the hug ended that she had accepted the story as best as she could. He offered her a handkerchief from out of his pocket, and she took it, releasing a few wayward tears. For a while they sat there, remembering and practically playing mourning to the friend who while, not gone forever, would cease being a constant in their lives.
After a tearful reprise of “The Saga of Geraldine,” Alice’s stomach started to rumble.
“How about some lunch?” Alice smiled, her fingers using his handkerchief to wipe the remaining tears away.
“Can I have an orange marmalade sandwich?” she requested, as sweetly as the preservative she desired.
Killian once again bit his lip as he was poised to deal with yet another difficult situation.
“Actually,” Killian said, slowly and awkwardly. “We’re all out of marmalade.”
“What?” Alice asked, her tone incredulous. “You just got a full jar last week!” Killian could see Alice studying her. “Papa, did you eat it?”
His cheeks reddened. “N-no,” he muttered.
Alice raised an eyebrow and folded her arms. “Then who did?”
Killian suddenly felt quite nervous. Heat flushed his cheeks.
He found that he could only squeak one thing: “Geraldine?”

“Tilly, what’s that you’re humming?”
Rogers and Tilly were in the midst of their weekly round of chess. Rogers had just secured her knight and while deciding her next move, she started humming. She often hummed when they played, as if to play up her own confidence in her victory. However, something about this song that now buzzed through the air struck him as familiar.
Tilly bit her cheek. “You know, I don’t remember. Song just came to me, as they usually do. Want me to stop?”
While he couldn’t explain why, Rogers shook his head. “No, don’t. I like it, and it helps you concentrate. Besides, you’ll need all the help you want to beat me.”
An expression as crazy as a fox appeared on the face of his young friend. “Don’t underestimate me, detective.”
“Wouldn’t for a second,” Rogers answered as he welcomed back her joyous hum.

Forget Me Not
Forget-Me-Not 7
"Oh! Isn't this the cake you made for my birthday 2 years ago, Double D?" Nazz chirped as she and Sarah looked through the recipes Edd brought.
"Yes, it is. I'm happy you remember," Edd smiled brightly.
"Of course I remember! It was amazing!" Nazz smiled just as brightly, remembering how much of the cake she ate that day. "Are we gonna make it for Saturday? I can't wait to eat it!"
"Yes, of course. As requested, we will make 2 cakes of different flavors and a dozen cupcakes," Edd chuckled. Most of the food they had requested were deserts, which Edd didn't approve of, but decided it was okay once in a while. He'd be sure to make some other healthy snacks alongside the sweets.
"I'm just gonna say 'no' to the plain salad sandwich now to save everyone from barfing later on," Sarah scrunched her nose at the sandwich list. Edd huffed and Nazz giggled.
"Excuse me, Sarah, but Ed, Rolf, Jonny and I happen to love them," Edd harrumphed.
"You guys and all the other weirdos in this town," Sarah countered, snickering at Edd's narrowed eyes.
"Fine then. No plain salad sandwiches. I'll just have to add lots of veges into the other sandwiches," he snatched the list of sandwiches from Sarah's hands and cancelled the salad sandwich with a pen. Sarah stuck her tongue out in disgust. Nazz poked her cheek.
"Oh come on, Sarah. Veges are delicious!" she said sarcastically. Edd rolled his eyes. Just before he could reply, Nazz's doorbell rang.
"It's unlocked!" Nazz called out. The door opened and Jimmy poked his head in.
"Hi girls! I got the stuff you needed!" he said cheerfully. Sarah perked up.
"Jimmy! Come on in!" she hopped off the counter stool she sat on and walked towards her best friend. Edd smiled as he watched Sarah hug Jimmy and pick up the bag of groceries while they linked arms. His smile faltered as soon as his eyes met Kevin's. Kevin smiled nervously and slowly walked towards the kitchen, eyes never leaving Edd.
"Kevin! Didn't I tell you not to come over?" Nazz blocked him and put her hands on her hips. Kevin looked down to her.
"Oh, hey Nazz," he smiled awkwardly, resisting the urge to look back up at Edd and focused on Nazz while she talked.
"You're stubborn with or without your memories," she rubbed her temple, then noticed the bags in his hands. She smiled and took the bags. "Thanks for the help, but you gotta leave now," she put the bags on the counter and pushed Kevin to the door.
"Whoa- Hey, Nazz, wait!" he protested, looking over to Edd as if asking for help. The look he gave was desperate, and Edd, being the kind soul that he is, just couldn't avoid it.
"Wait!" he called in a panic, and everyone in the room froze. He felt embarrassed as everyone watched him, "We um- might need him for uh- something," he stammered, avoiding eye contact from Kevin, who could feel his cheeks getting warm. Nazz lifted an eyebrow and eyed the embarrassed genius.
"You're okay with him staying?" Nazz asked slowly. Edd nodded, looking everywhere but Kevin. "You're sure?" Nazz asked again. Edd hesitated, and for a moment Kevin was afraid he had changed his mind, but when Edd looked up at him with an awkward smile and nodded, he was sure he had just gotten the chance he wanted.
"W-We um- don't have an eggbeater-," Edd stuttered, "a-and my physical strength isn't that great, so..." he trailed off.
"Well, I guess you're right. We could use him to beat the eggs for us," Nazz's bright smile returned. "Alright then! Let's really get to work!"
After they finished making a dozen different sandwiches, which took longer than expected because Jimmy couldn't help himself, they started mixing in the batter for the first cake. Kevin had helped them with retrieving utensils and ingredients, washing the vegetables, and even cut the sandwiches into triangles. He made sure not to disturb Edd as he worked. Edd had also kept a distance from him, though they shared a few glances and exchanged a few shy smiles.
"He's so skilled..." Kevin mumbled to himself as he watched Edd swiftly crack eggs into the batter, not a single drop on the counter or himself.
"What was that?" Jimmy asked, thinking Kevin was talking to him. Kevin looked down at the preteen and smiled.
"Nothing. Sorry, I was just thinking out loud," he smiled awkwardly. Jimmy smiled back and went on with wrapping the sandwiches. Kevin glanced over at Edd again, but his view was blocked by Nazz.
"Double D, can we just use all-purpose flour for the cakes? Apparently Jimmy bought this instead of cake flour," Nazz asked, raising the already opened packet of all-purpose flour. Jimmy protested.
"I couldn't find any cake flour! It was either that or corn flour," he huffed. Kevin tilted his head in confusion.
"What's the difference?" he asked, looking directly at Edd. They made eye contact, and Edd chuckled nervously.
"Well, you see, Kevin," he cleared his throat. "Different flours have different effects in baking. Cake flour is very soft and very low in gluten, and it rises with an even and soft texture. Corn flour is gluten-free, and is best used for making hard batter, like bread or cookies," he finished with a smile. Kevin smiled back, stepping closer to the genius. I just can't stay away.
"Okay, then what's the difference between cake flour and all-purpose?" he cocked his head to one side and gave Edd a smile that made his insides melt. "Well, sweet angel?" Kevin smirked as he rested his folded arms on the counter right in front of the blushing nerd. Edd could hear the fits of giggles around him, which only made him more nervous and totally embarrassed.
"W-Well, K-Kevin, When I was- um," he gulped, feeling his cheeks warming feverishly. He broke the long eye contact and looked down to the large bowl in front of him. I swear there is some kind of switch for this man! How could someone change from clueless to sexy so quickly! "When I-" he breathed out, "created the recipes, I was using cake flour. Cake flour weighs less than all-purpose flour, so..." Edd looked up to see Kevin watching him with a quirky smile. "Wh-What is it?"
"I like it when I make you blush all nervous like this," Kevin laughed. Edd pouts, feeling his nervousness slowly subside at the lighter mood. He smacks Kevin lightly on the arm, which only made the redhead chuckle more. Edd huffed and folded his arms.
"For that, you won't get any cake tomorrow," he joked. Before Kevin could retort, Nazz cleared her throat to get their attention.
"Sorry for interrupting your cute flirting, but we still have two cakes to bake, remember?" she said as she lifted up the recipes to show them. Edd smiled awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. Kevin stood up straight from the counter just as awkwardly.
"Right, sorry. I'll just uh-" he gestured back to the front counter where he wrapped sandwiches with Jimmy, "I'll be there. Just tell me if you need me," he smiled widely.
"Okay..." Edd smiled and sifted the flour. He could feel his insides tingle as he finally accepted the fact that Kevin definitely likes him. I'm so happy I could die! Oh, I can't wait to tell Eddy all about this!
DING! Nazz stood from her couch and hurried over to the oven. After they were done with the batters and put them in the oven, the group decided to watch t.v. together. The couch was occupied by Nazz, Edd and Kevin, with the blonde in the middle, but once she got up, the two boys tensed. Even with all the flirting, they still felt awkward being so close to each other.
"Oooh! They're done!" Nazz carefully took the cakes out and inhaled the sweet smell. "Mmm, they smell so good!" she sighed happily. Sarah and Jimmy immediately jumped from their shared armchair to take a whiff at them. Edd also stood up, followed by Kevin.
"Can we eat some now?" Jimmy asked, staring intently at the cake. Sarah shook her head.
"I think you've been hanging out with my brother way too often, Jimmy," she sighed. Nazz giggled. It was true. Ever since Jimmy started hitting puberty, he had become more attached to Ed and Edd, though Sarah would always be his best friend. Jimmy smiled guiltily, then the doorbell rang.
"Come in!" Nazz called out. The door opened and the other two Eds stepped inside. "Hi Eddy!" Nazz greeted with a smile. Eddy gave her a small wave as he neared the first counter.
"Hey Nazz. We came to pick up our Sockhead," he pointed a thumb to Edd, who was in the middle of pouring icing into a Ziploc bag. He glanced at his wristwatch once he was done.
"Oh my. I didn't realize it was so late," his eyebrows furrowed at the time. He quickly handed the bag to Sarah and pat himself clean. "Nazz, Sarah, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to decorate the cakes yourselves," he apologized and gave tips on decorating neatly as he took off his apron.
"Alright, Double D. Thanks for all your help!" Nazz waved him goodbye as he and the other Eds walked towards the door.
"Wait, Double D!" Kevin called out, stopping the genius halfway out the door. Edd turned to him quickly, already feeling warm from the closeness.
"Y-yes, Kevin?" he stammered. Kevin hesitated, but took Edd's hand in his own.
"Will you-" he started, but stopped. He wanted so badly to say it, but he knew the time wasn't right. He stared into Edd's eyes, half-expecting the redhead to continue, but fearing it would be what he thought. Kevin squeezed his hand. "Will you sit with me tomorrow?" he changed the question. Edd felt relieved, but at the same time disappointed.
"Sure, Kevin. It's going to be a long trip though, so we might change seats a few times," Edd smiled as he slipped his hand out of Kevin's grip.
"Nah, I'd rather sit closer to heaven, so you'll be stuck with me for a few hours," Kevin said with a smirk. Edd blushed slightly, and just as he was about to give an OK, Eddy made gagging sounds behind him. Edd gave him a small glare as he pulled the genius' arm.
"I'm glad you two are finally getting somewhere, but I'd rather not watch you devour each other on Nazz's doorstep. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got a marathon to get to," Eddy teased as he dragged a fully embarrassed Edd out of the neighborhood, with Ed tailing them with joy.

June 17th tweets...
you know what's cool? Gas spring wall mounted monitors...you can turn the monitor in any direction, raise it higher, lower, whatever...the gas spring is key...
so i bought Ugg Men's In House shoes...(do men call these slippers?! i dunno)...I went through several pairs from exchanges/returns. Why? The fuzz or fur inside is being pulled out/apart in all directions, right out of the box...Come on Amazon...aren't you guys about quality?!
So I saw "Superman & Louis" on the CW app, the other day. Lara (would like that name for a potentialDaughter, but moving on..), a.k.a. Superman's Kryptonian mom was revealed 2be married to 1 man, had a child, &then married Superman's dad, Jor-El-whom she later fell in love with.-
- this was said in passing on the show, as part of a different theme. But it makes you wonder...Are all women like this? Constantly out to seek "the best deal", regardless of stage of life? After having a son with 1 man, she falls in love with another and has another child...-
- what happens to marriage vows? Are these just empty words among America's pandemic of empty promises, hopes, and help? These words of through sickness and health, whatever, are meant to have power. These kind of things give life meaning and power...-
- Things aren't working out with your partner? Work things out. The option of divorce, I feel, makes people try  less harder. Your partner is literally supposed to be ur other half. You are one being. There are extreme cases of people being abused, but the rest is ego. -
- U marry me, ur stuck with me for eternity and beyond...think about it...u being my half is like my hand which is part of me...not going anywhere without my hand...duhhh...huhhh, womennnn...
moving on... From Run Girls, Run!, YouTube anime song “share the light” - kinda girly, but catchy jingle...
YouTube “Ultra instinct (trap remix)”
On a differentNote, U can learnSomething fromThe IndianConcept of arrangedMarriages, America.. Whereas U have theOpportunity of datingAround, findingPeople who share in ur hobbies/interest, make U feelExtraordinary, Indians, for centuries&beyond have been paired by theirParents.-
- If you talk to Indian couples, who probably have nothing in common, they say, they and their spouses have a "deep bond." They're bound by simply having the constant presence of another...someone to talk to, someone to care for them, and so forth...-
- This American thing about common hobbies/interests, making you feel special - these are biological feelings/impulses. You need to expand ur mind: "who will always be there for you?" Astrology and hobbies aren't what forms a "connection." It is the answer to that question...
Check out "Mud Wtr" on Google, as an alternative to caffeine…nothing to do with actual "mud" - that's just what its called...good stuff, but expensive...
If regular coffee doesn't do it for you, you can search and find coffees like "Kion Coffee", or, on the other extreme, "Death Wish Coffee." But remember, different stuff holds the potential of working for different people. Looking for options? Give one of them a try..good stuff..
I want to get to a point where I’m traveling and have a secretary. I want to get to a point where when I go downstairs, breakfast is ready...when I need something, it’s before me…don't want to worry about the little things...
Try the " CoreStretch " from Amazon...quick way to stretch your back and other muscles...
After shaving, there isn’t a single after shave out there that reduces post shaving sensitivity, preparing u 4 tomorrow’s shave. Ive found a cream in Indian Ayurveda, alleviating that “ahhh it burns/stings!!!” post shave feeling by piling on the cream when no 1 supposedly looks.
So I found out that Miranda Cosgrove, Nickelodeon's "Carly Shay" from iCarly, made $180,000 per episode from a legally/appropriately run show...for this illegal relaying of me, from lawsuits and salary-never-received, I'm going to say $180,000 per relaying is the base line...
so moving on...now...don't get me wrong, but i'm not into, getting into the following subject. but the majestic orchestrators of "the situation" frequently keep talking about a girl "I knew 'of' " and don't in fact know. I don't know why. -
- By "knew of", Im not even sure what she looks like. Sometimes I remember her tall or with meat on her bones or sometimes short or skinny..Im not even sure if all these were the same girl, when I saw her. Whoever she was, I remember liking the girl in the black North face Denali? jacket. Then amidst these versions of this girl, there was another look alike who rode the white Van type taxi called “Best Taxi.” Then there’s the short skinny version with the red stroller suitcase. I know facts about this individual from simple things like her last name.-
  - last names can be an indicator of where ur from, origin wise. But I don’t even know what she exactly looks like. From wishing her HappyBirthday on facebook, without a response back, I no her birthday is on june 24th. I know that&remember that b/c I did it once, & in high school, my memory was so good, Id memorize my notebooks.-
- ladies, something to know about me. i'll never forget a birthday or anniversary. -
- with all the talk about this girl, you get curious what she's up to, and through google, you can find out she went to columbia. a smart cookie. and in the random times i bumped into her, -
-i remember her telling her friends jen and valerie or whoever (i can remember even small details) that she wanted to transfer to columbia in her first or second year, but didn't. i happen to be walking by at that moment when she was talking and her mother or whoever -
- picked her up in a white infiniti. In a part time job on that campus as a telemarketer, on the computer system 4 calling students homes, her mothers name & address popped up on my neighbors call screen, so I even know random things like her mother's name &she's from  New Jersey. -
- this is what I mean, I don't know her. over the years of explaining things over and over, for one reason or another, it seems like i knew this person. Please stop with the talk. Now the orchestrators, with the sounds projected, want me to-
- think this girl, who never so much as responded to a Happy Birthday, is chasing after me, and has gone mad in a massive game to prevent women from talking to me, when its the orchestrators instructions. Never a moment to reset the mind on that subject. It just shows neither -
- the girl, her wackadoodle friends, and the orchestrators know a thing about me, and just want me to talk all day. Its not even fair to the girl, if she has the time to see this. What'll she think?! Find a new subject, orchestrators...
- and about people i bump into, people from the dorms in Binghamton...i remember it all...in binghamton dorms, they have everyone's names stickered onto the doors. i don't know that girls friends either. -
- ladies, something U should know about me...b4 we become girl friend/boy friend, or even friends, what U see in "this situation" may not be what U get, inPerson. Im different w/different people. Just b/c Im soft w/my brother doesn't mean Im going 2be soft w/some1 on the street.-
- those who cross me, in certain cases, I forgive, but I never forget. Guys, girls, I do not play games. I'm in my very early thirties and I don't have patience for a majority of the things that go on in this...
- going back 2 the girl, 1 last thing. i think the desperate orchestrators want 2give their meaningless cr*p of a program some kind of twist, by hooking me up w/some1 I don't even know how they look, for the sake of their program. After allThis, Im sure I have some1 who hates me-
- through no fault of my own...
It just isn't wise for me to put out anything really, because the orchestrators who have nothing to talk about, who don't know me, who think by seeing me everyday we're besties, then get stuff to harp on. -
-When I do hear them, not always, out of pity I'm telling them something verifiable, if you have a lie detector, u know none of what's said carries any relevance or significance. Its just noise, both literal and figurative.
- then the nonsense about my appearance...what are we 10? am i teenage girl? I'm an average guy, and a regular guy in real life. Everything that goes on is hype from constant chatter through an unresolved and ongoing crime...
moving on...
so moms...my mom never listens 2 a thing I say. Partly b/c she's in a rush to speak what's on her mind. As I continue talking, shell go so far as to walk around or decide to literally hammer away at something for some coincidental purpose.-
-My mom is not how I want my spouse 2be. She claims "there's no talking to me." over the simplest of things when its her stubbornness and clouded mind against my clarity. I'll be in the middle of making a point or saying something insightful, shell tell me she's not into it.-
- if i run into a woman like that, goodbye. maybe its her busy day inciting lack of patience. But then my day...i got her randomness, the randomness in my environment, the randomness from the orchestrators, the randomness at work...it's all very tiring...-
-that's how the orchestrators get material. through tiring randomness...

Are You My Forever After? -part 2-
@celxstialclan
As the years went by and Tsukimi's friendship with Aiko deepened, so did her attachment to Takashi. The moment she began studying kanji and was told the meaning of the writing on her wrist, Tsukimi wished to spend more time with her friend's older brother. It was partially because of this that she often stopped by the Kamiyas' place first before returning home. She enjoyed doing things that girls her age did like reading fashion magazines, but also was pretty active and often shared with Aiko her judo movements, which always ended in playful struggling.
But when they reached the age most girls had their first crushes, Tsukimi would often talk about boys with Aiko as they were considered two of the cutest girls of their middle school. It was during their first year that they agreed to prepare Valentine's chocolate after reading lots of cooking magazines.
"Tsukimi, you're supposed to melt the chocolate over hot water!" Aiko screamed while turning off the heat without getting burnt with the spilling chocolate.
"Shoot, I forgot!" Tsukimi groaned and began cleaning her own mess. "Sorry, I am so nervous. This is the first time I do this without Mom's help. But I want this chocolate to be the best of all!"
"I know but if you're not careful, we will die before that happens."
"But seriously you're alright with giving your chocolate to Aburame?" Tsukimi asked, looking at the butterfly-shaped mold Aiko intended to use for her chocolate. "He's so gloomy, always appears out of nowhere and talks of nothing but insects. There must be another Shino around the globe!"
Shino Aburame was a guy from another class and supposedly was also Aiko's soulmate. She wasn't as effusive about love as Tsukimi was, but it was pretty obvious she was interested in knowing Shino better before she could decide if they were truly meant to be for each other. Until now, things between them were going smoothly.
"What about you? Do you know another Takashi besides my brother?" Aiko replied shrewdly.
"W-who said it was for him? There are plenty of Takashi in our school!" Tsukimi blushed. Her attempt to hide her intentions was so transparent, that Aiko merely smiled while rolling her eyes and continued cleaning before repeating the chocolate melting process.
Tsukimi silently approached the garage where Takashi kept his prized car collection. He was so focused in checking everything was in place and changing the oil of the engines, that he didn't notice Tsukimi was behind him. Lately she had seen little of him and it was difficult to find him at home, but was glad that this time, Takashi was at home.
"Happy Valentine's Day!"
Takashi flinched and accidentally hit his head with the car's hood, he turned around rubbing his head and scowling at Tsukimi.
"Sorry! let me see" Tsuki reached for his head looking for injuries, but after making sure he hadn't gotten hurt, she let go of him. While he wiped his hands clean, she pulled out from her bag the valentine's chocolate she had made "I made this especially for you!"
Although Takashi wasn't fond of sweets, he accepted the chocolates  his sisters and female peers gave him. Tsukimi had always given him store-bought chocolate, but this one was different and he rose an eyebrow in suspicion.
"Is it edible? Did you poison it?" He teased her.
"How rude! I put my best effort and it was yummy when I tasted it!”
"Thanks, Kimi." Takashi patted her head and Tsukimi enjoyed the contact.
Sometimes, Takashi noticed that Tsukimi had a sweet smile and a special gleam in her eyes when she looked at him, which didn't happen with other people. Being close to Aiko meant she was also close to him, the one who watched over Aiko the most. Takashi had grown fond of Tsukimi, she made him smile with her antics, and he felt the need to protect her... like an older brother would do.
"For White Day I want a Louis Vuitton purse. No more marshmallows, Taka-kun!"
"So this is what Valentine's day is all about? Giving chocolate and getting more expensive stuff a month later?" he joked, wiping his sweat.
"Then how about a kiss?" Tsukimi closed her eyes, tiptoed and offered him her lips.
Takashi flicked her nose and chuckled. "Nice try. Wait until next month to find out."
Tsukimi pouted at his response, making him chuckle. He had to give her credit for always making such cute expressions, but actually the petition for a kiss had worried him for a brief moment, although he dismissed it as just a child's game. They knew each other for so long, it was impossible she saw him as more than a good friend.
Tsukimi happily walked off and went inside the house to give giri-choco to Haruki and then talk some more to Aiko about their day. But when they were asked about their crushes, the girls merely exchanged looks and laughed.
For White Day, Aiko and Tsukimi received a pile of gifts from their male classmates in return for the cookies they received from them. But Aiko was more delighted with the butterfly hairpin she got from Shino. As soon as Tsukimi arrived to the Kamiyas home, she began to look for Takashi but he was nowhere to be found and she sulked, much to Sora's amusement.  Nonetheless, when Takashi arrived home, Tsukimi was about to leave. She received him with an angry pout, as if reproaching him for making her wait, but he made it disappear with a single white rose. Roses were Tsukimi's favorite flowers.
"Thank you, Takashi-kun!" Tsukimi squealed, jumping into his arms and kissing his cheek. But this time, instead of patting her head affectionately, Takashi became stiff as a board and cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Yeah, sure."
When Takashi was all alone, he reminisced of the feeling of Tsukimi's body next to his as well as her kiss. this reminded him she was not anymore the little girl he used to treat for ice cream. Her embrace felt very warm, soft and full of sincere affection, but her kiss had been unexpected, and he found himself liking it. Nonetheless, Takashi berated himself for it, because he was supposed to stick as a mere older brother figure, not caring if her wrist said otherwise. How sick it would be if he played along with her romantic fantasies?
Besides, he already had someone that coud prove him and everyone that anyone could fight against fate.
During the next two weeks after White Day, Tsukimi began to notice that Takashi wasn't much at home anymore, but didn't give much thought into it because she was busy with the end of her first year of middle-school, making preparations for the start of her second year and her upcoming birthday. To celebrate all those events, Aiko had invited Tsukimi to spend the night at her home to have a sleepover. They had fun helping with dinner, but apparently Sora was thrilled about something, and when Aiko was told to add another plate to the table, she immediately guessed what was all the fuss about.
"Takashi is bringing his girlfriend. Oh my, he's going serious!" Aiko laughed to herself, because she could predict that night's dinner was going to be a comical show since it was the first time Takashi brought a girl over, and undoubtedly he was going to receive lots of teasing.
"His what?" Tsukimi was so dismayed, that she dropped the jar with miso paste. During all these years, she never contemplated the possibility of Takashi ever falling in love with someone that wasn't herself. Since he didn't possess a soulmate mark on his wrist, his choice of partner was endless.
"Mayuri went to the same college as Takashi. Apparently they have been dating for 6 months." Sora explained, already wanting to make jokes at his expense "I thought that little brother of mine was going to die a virgin."
Soon after this revelation, the girls heard voices in the entrance and while Sora and Haruki openly received Takashi and his girlfriend, Tsukimi and Aiko peeked at them from behind. The latter soon joined her siblings, but Tsukimi remained in the background and bit her lower lip as she contemplated Takashi with anxious eyes.
Seeing Takashi being close to another woman was something Tsukimi wasn't prepared for. Her fists clenched, and her insides felt like burning coal with its smoke filling her lungs, making her breathing more difficult. Tsukimi felt threatened, and when that happened, instead of running away from the problem, she directly confronted it. But that didn't mean it was always the best thing to do.
"Hi, you must be Mayuri." Tsukimi greeted Takashi's companion with a forced smile after the siblings were introduced.
"Who are you?" Mayuri was confused. As far as she was concerned, Takashi only had two sisters.
"Tsukimi. Takashi's future wife." Tsukimi was bold enough to show her the soulmate birthmark she had, and Takashi clenched his teeth. Mayuri on the other hand, smiled condescendingly.
"How old are you anyway, six?" Mayuri arched an eyebrow, not taking the girl's statement seriously.
"How old are you, fifty?" Tsukimi snarked back.
"I'm 27."
"Oh, so you are just a temporary fling."
Alright, now Tsukimi had gone too far with her jealousy and rudeness, but before Mayuri could act on her anger, someone else intervened on her behalf.
"Tsukimi, apologize to her now." Takashi ordered her, looking upset. It was the first time he was angry at Tsukimi for something, but he had to make her understand she couldn't keep acting like this. However...
"...I won't do it." Tsukimi stood her ground, feeling betrayed by Takashi. If he wanted to love someone why he hadn't chosen her over this woman? What was wrong with herself? "I won't!"
Takashi gave a reprimanding look to Tsukimi, understanding that even if he lost his temper, she wouldn't back off. During dinner, Takashi and Tsukimi remained very silent, avoiding to look at each other, and eating very little. To the very end, she did not apologize to Mayuri, and had repressed fury when he left with his girlfriend to take her home.
Back in Aiko's room, Tsukimi began pacing around trying to put some order to her thoughts while Aiko read a fashion magazine her friend had just bought, hoping not to find any fur clothing in there. Not only she had realized she had a love rival, but also, Takashi was mad at her for her childish behavior. Yet, Tsukimi absolutely refused to give up on him. Perhaps she was being silly and prideful, but her love for Takashi was genuine, even if she had yet to learn how to do it at its fullest.
"You seem to be quite fired up." Aiko said, putting the magazine aside "I think Mayuri is not that bad.”
“Whose side are you on?” Tsukimi inquired very irked.
“Yours, of course. But Takashi will always be my brother, and his happiness is also very important to me. If Mayuri can truly make him see life is worth it, then I will support their relationship.”
"She's not the right girl for him. I am more of a woman than her!"
"But Tsuki, we're not women yet." Aiko snickered, taking Tsukimi's hands between hers. This simple trick never failed to calm her down.
"...Right." Tsukimi sighed and looked down quite mortified at her flat chest "But just wait! I will grow up soon as well as my breasts, and I will be perfect for him!"
"Mm, do you want to practice how to be a woman?" Aiko asked, pulling Tsukimi from her wrist towards Sora's room.
When Tsukimi visited her friend, she greatly enjoyed trying on Sora's clothing that she herself had sewn, as she was a fashion designer. Actually, Tsukimi was interested in someday following the same profession, but in the meanwhile, she and Aiko liked to pretend they were flirty and thriving models. More often than not, Tsukimi also liked to apply on make-up, just to have a vague idea of how she'd look like in a decade. But according to everyone, she was bound to be a natural beauty and a heartthrob in due time.
Downstairs, Takashi brewed some coffee for himself and his siblings after returning from dropping Mayuri off at her home. He just couldn't believe Tsukimi would actually dare to be disrespectful to someone close to him, and the reminder that she had his name on her wrist made things even more difficult. Takashi wanted Tsukimi to be happy and love in her own free-will and not be biased by some 'absurd tradition'. Besides, she was still too young to know how to love someone.
"Behold the face of a wolf who'll eat up a 12 year old virgin." Haruki told Sora, observing Takashi's dead serious face with amusement.  It was no secret for him that Tsukimi had a very obvious crush on his brother, and his favorite jokes were around this very same fact.
"Is it satisfaction or disbelief?" Sora played along, smiling slyly. Tsukimi's attachment to Takashi was funny and cute, and had to pinch her arm to not laugh when Tsukimi picked a fight with Mayuri.
"Extreme satisfaction, of course."
"Shit, are you really my siblings?" Takashi groaned, sipping his coffee. He didn't like this situation at all, why they had to mock him for this instead of realizing how bad and wrong this was for Tsukimi and himself.
"Just give up, Takashi." Sora said, munching on a senbei "I like Tsukimi as my future sister-in-law, and with your influence, she might become your ideal partner."
"What about you? You're already past marriageable age and still single!"
"Hey, I am meant to break many hearts before settling for my true love." Sora wasn't mortified for her apparent lack of a soulmate. She actually had tiny traces of a name on her wrist, but since they were incomplete kanji, it was impossible to tell who was Sora's other half, therefore, she could be with anyone she wanted.
Without them knowing, Tsukimi had left Aiko's bedroom to get a glass of water. Walking around Sora's room while constantly changing into oversized clothes and listening to music like real runway models had made her thirsty. She saw lights coming from the living room, and heard the voices of Aiko's older siblings. At first Tsukimi thought of tiptoeing, discreetly fetch her water, and make a gracious leave; but when she overheard her name, she stopped.
"When I met Tsukimi, she was so adorable and enjoyed to be around her, that I encouraged Aiko to continue her friendship just to see her more often. But I was always afraid one day she'd read her wrist and say she loved me." Takashi was so tired of keeping his thoughts of himself, that he sounded deadly serious when talking about them. "I don't want such a thing to happen. I'd rather lock myself forever in a monastery rather than strip Tsukimi of the chance of finding her true love just because she is being led astray by the soulmate system.  She is not someone for me."
Neither Haruki or Sora dared to make any more jokes after hearing this. Takashi actually implied he didn't deserve to have someone so joyful and precious as Tsukimi by his side, simply because he had done nothing to win her love and was too ordinary for her. But Tsukimi and his siblings interpreted his last sentence as a refusal to see the girl in a romantic way. Takashi's statement disheartened Tsukimi, and made her doubt. What if Takashi was right and she only loved him because of her soulmate mark?
The doubts and her attempt to reassure herself she truly loved Takashi started her turmoil over keeping her true feelings a secret and remain a friend or try to win his heart and risk to lose him forever. At the end, she chose a third option: put on a brave face to not let him see how much he had hurt her with his words, and show him how dear he was to her. Besides, Takashi wasn't bound to her through a soulmate mark. They only had their friendship left.
Tsukimi returned to Aiko's room without drinking a single drop of water. She felt so cold that her thirst mysteriously disappeared, but now she felt her body numb and began wearing one coat after another in an attempt to feel warm again. Aiko was intrigued by her friend's lack of enthusiasm, but instead of pressing her for a reason, she held her hands, which felt like icicles.
That night, Tsukimi was unable to sleep and had tears in her eyes, but was able to doze off after Aiko held her close to her and told her everything was going to be all better. Takashi, on the other hand, was resolute in continuing his relationship with Mayuri and have a talk with Tsukimi to make sure she didn’t throw him another jealous fit and make her understand the soulmate system had its flaws and wasn’t a reliable way to find love.
But that wasn’t necessary, because after breakfast, as Tsukimi was readying herself to return home, she approached him to give a message in private. Takashi was increasingly nervous as Tsukimi stared longingly at him, but her words were not what he was expecting to hear.
"I wish you the utmost happiness, Takashi-niisan." Tsukimi said with the earnest smile she had ever done "Things between us don't have to change. I am still going to be by your side, supporting everything you want to do. If Mayuri makes you happy, then I think it's great." at least one of them deserved a blissful life. Tsukimi didn't want to destroy her beloved's contentment.  “I hope you and Mayuri-san will forgive me for being so disrespectful.”
"Sure, don’t worry about it.” Takashi patted her head again, and Tsukimi smiled. She had missed his contact so much. “Growing up is hard, You have confusing feelings that you eventually forget.”
“Yeah... I hope so.” Tsukimi didn’t want to forget she loved Takashi, but for his sake, she’d try.
After Tsukimi left, Takashi was left with a bitter taste on his mouth. He knew her well enough to know she now lacked the lively spark in her eyes and that she had been crying, probably because of him. But he felt proud of her prudent decision to give up on him and look for the affection she deserved somewhere else.
At least, it consoled him the thought that Tsukimi would remain Aiko’s friend and honor her childhood promise to be by his side. That was all he needed.
