Fun thing that I hate abt social media is lgbt history and queer theory is actually a VERY difficult subject. Queer theory is one of the more complicated in my experience and even remotely advanced articles and papers can take a while to really parse through because the vocabulary sums up entire novels or decades of ideas and evolution of those ideas down to a few words. The history itself is messy and sometimes our own community has in fact spread not true “facts” for our own survival—which isn’t a moral failing but is worth pointing out. Communities inter fight, don’t get along, and have often had conflicting needs that have had to be carefully negotiated and dealt with separately. There have been really awful parts of our history from horrifically graphic depictions of violence to crises of mental health and substance abuse and how to tackle it to how we can handle domestic and sexual abuse to rampant racism and bigotry against other members of the community. There is a lot of romantization too and this is also not a moral failing because of course in our lives filled with so much pain sometimes we just want a feel good story too like how cishet ppl get. And in brushing over those very uncomfortable parts of history we excuse a lot of violence as well, we erase our own history, and we erase our ability to look back and see how not yo repeat it.
It is not a linear history. The issues are consistently debated and workee around, sometimes to suck a degree very little work actually can get done by academics. Oftentimes experts in the field are used as “advisors” on the topic only to have had their entire advising work not taken into account at all but with their name slapped on it. Often times it gets super uncomfortable, painful, and very complicated to think about. Queer theory and lgbt history is about untangling myths and facts and collective trauma all from real events, bigotry, and fables.
You cannot just find the first article that agrees with you or the first book on google you haven’t actually read in full and say you’ve studied it and “known your history” because it’s not that simple. I know. I was going into it, going to minor in it, and I had to quit bc the work loads combined with triggering content was massive. It had the highest workload of any of my classes comparable only to my capstone. And ultimately I had to make the call that the workload and pain I was putting into it probably wouldn’t have really beared any fruit given my anthro emphasis was in archaeology. This is to say I’ve done the work and seen the people who put in so much time and got told by professors who thought I was excellent at it that if I wasn’t able to deal with the combined brunt of trauma and very messy work and debates that they understood. It’s not for everyone. It’s important work that needs to be done by people willing to make that commitment, are able to care for themselves, and are willing to give it the time and care it needs. It’s still a relatively knew field itself after all compared to others. Don’t take this as me saying not to do it, if you are passionate you should! Just don’t be alarmed when good programs are challenging and the history is actually much more messy than the stories you hear.
It just actually does get very disheartening to see. I know it probably wont be listened to by the people I feel really need to hear it but maybe someone else will take it to heart. If you claim to care so much about preserving our history stop disrespecting it. We owe it to each other to stop acting like it’s linear and perfect and never flawed (unless it’s the people you are disagreeing with them THEY are just like the flawed ppl). Our history is messy, our theories complicated and beautiful in their complexity, and it’s so much bigger than can be summarized by linking to one thing you didn’t even really read properly.

when I heard about the 227 collusion I was really surprised and I knew there was something wrong but I never know how to Conect the stories I knew there was a black hands behind the collusions. I was completely confused a lot and I didn't really know what happened how it happened when it happened. I was just the Lost sheep. I knew there was something huge behind this massive collusions. but after I have done my research I can understand and I can connect the dots about the story. so what I can tell the things were well premeditated, in my opinion I can say that things begin when the untamed was filmed. Wang yibo and his company they have their plans. when I have watched the behind the scenes videos. you can see from this videos the cameraman was focusing them. if you are using your mind properly you will understand the cameraman was assigned to them and to monitor them each and every act they do. so what I think their plans was if the untamed become succeed they will stolen from him (xz). we can say this videos were the hidden cards. but unexpectedly the untamed become the most popular in the industry in 2019. the new well that was wy hasn't participated in the untamed except for 4o todays. so the reason why the untamed became famous was because of XZ. the things got ugly when XZ was nominated the award as  the first lead . Wy, his company and  his fans they became very jealous and they were unable to accept the truths. So when I come back to the bts and the interviews thy had togathe it was also premeditated, coz u can see the intense in his actions, his gaze and movements he was conceiving to the ppl thy relationships its more than friends even his modify was same when he invited him to DDU too. After the untamed was broadcasted, a new door open and it was none than the cpf. I think at this point the cpf weren't under the YH involved, since the cpf were large number than wy's fans and more, YH wanted to hv the cpf in the their side since thy can benefit them while thy were planning their scheme behind the closed doors.
In the night of weibo award after I hv watched the full version of it XZ was avoided WY and vry uncomfortable wis coz he was fully aware wy's plans and schemes u c see if u watch it carefully while WY was trying to get near or to act obviously to get the public attentions. Even some cpf videos which I saw thy were saying that nite XZ was cold towards dd but unfortunately thy interpreted as XZ was avoided the public awareness 😂😂😂  what a delusion in life I hv never seen that pple want to join the northpole to the south pole 🤣🤣. Than we the Ao3 reported, 227 collusion and dropping candies and so on.
I really question myself if WY and his company will suck ppl's effort how long ll they keep doing. I really dnt who was his first victim coz he is an expert in this field and I wander who ll be his next terget.? Seeong how YH using money to sell wy's endorsements, awards, and so on am really questioning myself again how the hell did he bit the lay and Jackson in SDC3 final.? A big red flag.
After I hv learned the truths abt him i cnt hate him coz he z not worth of it. But I really feel pity for him and those ppl who are really thinking he z hardworking and straightforward him 😂😂 and his fans who are wasting their money on his greedyness and these cpf who addicted to these candies, and thy cnt survive with the it I hope their exe will stop work after learning the truths.
I never knew that he was elementary school matrial. Ppl says that he is first learner in everything especially at dancing. Am not denying his dancing is good, but however I hv no doubt that thy give him private lessons. At least I thought he was good at racing but unexpectedly event happened and he got exposed infornt of the professionally racers.
I really liked how the team who were in charge of the race thy ruled as an accident.
His company really don't care abt him thy saw him as source of income. When he cnt fulfilled they wish, thy ll despose him into trash cane. For these past 8 months thy made him over working  in order to gain the puplic image.
For the cpn I can categorized them into three types.
Type one :- the mastermind of these cpf who edit the clips and videos and manipulated the ppl abt their relationships as real. Thy are mostly are from WY's ppl. 4 these type of pple i wish they karma may catch them and turn up and down their worthless life.
Type two : thy are aware of the situations, and fully knw wat is going on but they really don't want to wake up from their fantasy, and don't want to eccept the trues. After u begin live 4 2yrs of delusion the truths seemed as false, thy want keeping /push these candies hoping will come true in thy force it, thy really dnt care anyone other than themselves neither dd or GG the reason thy r support to dd it z coz he keep give them candies and these are like drugs addiction, when drugs abuses don't use the drugs the got mad and ll do everything to hv their drugs so i dnt see any difference bt them. And as to why they are not even looking at XZ it coz his is not dropped any candy for them, so thy dnt really care whether he surfer or not  I wish dat thy may not wake from their delusional and pay the amount of distractions the caused.
Types three :- thy are new comes wis good intentions but not aware of the situations maybe some ppl missed lead them thy r thinking vry candy it true and wishing both of WY and XZ the best. Actually i hv meet two and i hv told the the truth and thy eccept it. And for these innocent individuals I wish they may open their eyes and questioning themselves before the poison goes deep in their veins.
As XZ when he first stepped into the entertainment industry, Xiao Zhan was as clean as a piece of white paper, with no foundation, no popularity, no capital Behind or powerful ppl behind, i read a heart breaking article it was b4 his popularity it is saying " enthusiastic fans blocked him at the elevator door and mocked and cursed him face to face without mercy. Amidst the sound of abuse, he lowered his head slightly, not knowing how long he had to bear it, and finally walked away silently, choosing to walk the stairs alone. At that time, he was only 24 years old, at a young age, but he lost the right to be willful."  and I was watching a video on red back when XZ wasn't popular and hasn't stepped on the red carpet 4 long and the host already said" we ll be ending the red carpet in 3 seconds coz there are still artists behind"  even the pen  he was using to write his name ended inn the middle of writing wn his name wasn't completely visible. Whn I watch that video u c see how he was 'his pride was crushed but maint maintained his coolness.
After his become popular he was inw the red carpet the host repeatedly said " xiao zhan, walk slowly give everyone to tale pictures"  the time between the first and the second was only yrs. So u can imagine he rise from nothing and got Where he is now, even his own company didn't support him or promote any of his work. In these incidents he learned alot we hv to be aware of our surrounding, when we are watching our enemy close by we, most be thousands time aware our so called friends coz the actions and words may deceive us and me let out gut feeling low.
One thing I positively believe that XZ wll rise again coz he is sunlight and no one can block the sunlight, at the night he is the brightest star 🌟 in  the sky. Nothing everlast every storm ll pass.
As for me i ll keep rooting 4 me.

hey i saw that youre not taking mods under 18 but i think i could do a good job. im 17 in one month and i am really ok w seeing asks abt sex, considering that this is a writing advice blog i dont think there will be anything bad. i feel like 17 year old ppl and exactly 18 yr old ppl dont have that much separating them, and the ability to handle Sex Stuff really doesnt have much to do w age. u could make a sideblog for sex questions too. anyway can i still apply
In the kindest possible way, we are not going to budge on this. We are not making a sideblog for this purpose either (aside from it being not part of the ScriptFamily protocol to do something like that, it would not be enough, as this transcends even separating minors from sex questions).
It matters that you understand why this matters to us.
When I posted the application, explaining that the issue is about sex questions was a convenient summary that didn’t require TWs. The fact of the matter is that nearly every time we have made a statement that should be universal and obvious (like: necrophilia and pedophilia are bad), we get asks in retaliation that we ethically cannot post. That aren’t warned for and can be traumatizing, and are triggering sometimes for some of us.
A minor does not have the same level of support that people above 18 do. Even though I was paying my own rent and supporting myself in full at 17, I still wasn’t legally allowed to do most things without my parent signing off on it. Even with things that I legally had a right to access, they were still frequently barred from me because most people didn’t understand that. And I didn’t have the kind of power or sway in the world I would have needed if I’d had to deal with getting some of the asks that we get here.
This has also been discussed with the mod team and was a unanimous thing. Because this is a new rule, we had mods in the past who were under 18 when they started on the blog, who have since retired (for an array of reasons), who agree that we shouldn’t accept minors as moderators. While being 17 and 18 don’t feel very different for you, it matters for a lot more reasons than just psychologically. If it were just about psychology, I might even suggest raising the number higher.
Along with this, one of the qualifiers for people to be able to join a ScriptBlog is that we would be confident in our ability to answer questions on the topic as an expert witness in a court of law. (Think like, a scientist being asked to take the stand to explain the nuances of certain drug interactions, studies on the subject.) And being able to be cross-examined and have your research and expertise be questioned. Being able to answer questions with the quality of an expert in the field.
In this case, the field is LGBT+ topics and studies. Including our histories, medical issues, sociological determinants of health, subcultures, intra-community issues and dynamics, legal issues, prominent figures, how colonial forces impact gender, how to research LGBT+ historical figures (and what kind of coded language to look for and sometimes why that language was used), etc.
Being LGBT+ alone qualifies you with a lot of expertise, but we often get asked the kinds of questions that most researchers at the front of these topics haven’t even looked into yet. Sometimes, I have to use translators to access textbooks from 1920s Germany (bless the Hirschfeld Institute for having repatriated books online) just to answer a given question. It’s finding firsthand documentation, it’s reading textbooks and understanding what those textbooks say, and being able to develop your own independent idea of something because you’ve taken enough references (including your own firsthand experience) into account. It’s feeling qualified to write textbooks, even if just in theory.
Not that one person can know everything, but just as an example, I can list a bunch of names of Two-Spirit activists who I have learned certain things from, so I can refer people asking on certain topics where to go. I know that binarism is a colonial force of asserting a white colonial gender binary. That knowledge isn’t something that comes up on the first page of Google. (*cough* This was in the application and most people who answered it, got it wrong! But if you know this was you, you can totally go back to the link and edit your answer.) I know these things because I’ve done relentless research, over the course of years. I’ve been interviewed by Xtra (a gay paper, the gayper if u will). I’ve had a Medium article on my trans body experience selected by the editorial team at Medium as an article they wanted to hire someone to do a voiceover of.
These are just accolades. We don’t ask about accolades in the application, we ask what you know. We’re not asking what awards you’ve won for activism, we’re asking what you can advise on.
While I understand that young prodigies exist, that’s just not the norm. The majority of us are not experts in any field at 17. Or 18.
But we have to draw a line somewhere, and 18 is a minimum that falls in line with a lot of other important things. So it is the line we draw.
