we don't know what happened in the immediate aftermath of the remaining PDs running into the heroes in the building, so we don't know what exactly they told the heroes about what happened with ashe. from what we've heard in s2, it seems like they didn't say anything about the trickster at all? so the heroes maybe (likely?) don't know that ashe has been possessed. ok. fine. whatever. that's not really the point of the issue here.

the point of the issue is that ashe is gone. and whatever else the heroes do or don't know, they know that much. they know that where there are supposed to be four, there are now only three.

why would they not tell the people they sent to go pass a message to the boys that the group was one member down?

are we missing some important information ourselves here, or...????
