so essentially knives in this au is rlly similar to how he usually is, kill all humans such and such; his big plan though is to drown the world by slowly raising the tides with. Idk Siren Powers (trimax spoilers in a sec) probably similar to how he fuses with the plants in the manga but like. not actually fusing if that makes sense

and ofc the reason hes stinky poop is because of all the humans trying to hunt sirens to extinction; vash and him washed up onto a small island village, where rem found them and took them in without people knowing they were sirens

since theyre kind of an anomaly (normally sirens are pretty animal-like, and cant change their body to look like a human) rem was able to let them interact with the village a bit; vash and knives both had their own experiences with the villagers, leading to the starts of their opposite ideologies n such, and things were fine for a while until a group of pirates came to the island and destroyed everything; rem's sacrifice in this au is her distracting some of the pirates to let vash and knives be able to get away from the island safely

oh god i just realized this is getting p long uhhhh long story short they end up separating because vash wants to go back to living with people and knives is like "fuck them", at some point they meet back up again and thats when vash's arm gets yoinked by knives even though he insists its the humans' fault, and yeah Stuff Happens

i dont remember if i posted him before but i have a vague drawing of how knives looks in this au but its kinda eh so youre just gonna need to take this for now before i redraw him

Yes, here are some mice! They’re blacksmiths, artisans. I don’t know who they’re aligned with, if it’s one group or seperate groups, but they make their swords and daggers and other weapons. Not like the birds CANT make weapons, but the mice make much better ones lol. Also, yeah! I made the owl based on my knowledge of them, AND to upset the stereotype just because I think it’s funnier/cuter/more scary if they’re actually just brutes. Most of their brain is used for hunting, so it would make sense if they’re more warrior-like. Barbarian? I think it’s cooler. The Crows are the ones who are smart, live in old human towns and name themselves after things they see in books… or on billboards.

im curious about the origin of the name since its definitely not literal (unless im being stupid and dont remember something about our convo JANDSKFN)

if i AM mistaken i have another question - whats a weirdly specific detail that you put effort in even if no one notices? im sure most writers have that one small detail that never gets attention but is super important to them (this question could be about foreshadowing, design details, headcanons... whatever!)

Name origin

The Garden AU was initially named that because of Moominmamma’s garden, but more specifically this remastered version of the 90s song. When first listening to it, that’s when I came up with (one of) the main idea(s) of the au (which has kinda gotten lost as time has gone on, but will hopefully still remain relevant to the lore lol): “What if Moominmamma’s garden and the Moominhouse were kind of like safe havens for magical creatures? What if they were naturally drawn to it?”. This lead to me making Moominmamma and Moomintroll witches, the Snorks fairies, Sniff half dragon, and Snufkin the mysterious jackalope that he is, all eventually drawn to Moominvalley in their own way! (small fun fact about very VERY early versions of the AU: Snufkin was initially meant to be a shapeshifter, but it was quickly scrapped. i don’t think it fit his character the way i wanted it to lol)

Specific detail no one notices

i do know some ppl have noticed this detail (shoutout to those who have lol) but still… Snufkin’s legs are REALLYYYY fucked up actually, like from a realism standpoint i think lol? I’m not sure actually… i’ve just never seen any animal that has deer legs with paws instead of hooves… he ended up that way because he’s only half jackalope and I wanted to show the mumrik side with more details than just the more “human” face, so… paws! I know there’s some rlly old art i’ve posted on here that clearly shows them lol. He also has boots made for his weird little legs that he wears during those cold, snowy winters, but I don’t blame anyone for not knowing that bc I barely draw him with them!! waah!!!

I dont know, im not in a good place mentally lately anyways and health is getting worse, economy too, i cant afford my antidepressants anymore. I'm slowly, quietly, isolating myself. I haven't eaten real food in days and I stink, no shower in dAYS neither.

If i'm complaining about this is because i see my art friends getting asks, feeling all motivated and aw,, I really wanna feel that.

Whenever I draw i kind of feel bad because I notice instantly im once again doodling with the means of making money! The performance in ep 10....absolutely stunning from every possible angle...down to everything..this episode..the pacing...the voicE ACTING UGH.....wow... WOW!!! AMAZING!!!! I'm probably really bias because i emotionally love this part in the story but haha yeah....yeahh i love ep 10.

Abt the werewolves I literally agree I don’t understand the furry argument at all either I even see the gamechangers say that. Like, is it supposed to be an insult..? Idk what they were expecting out of Sims 4 but I think it’s a step up from the previous games and it follows the Sims 4 style. Some people even recommended the wolves to have a more canine-like hind leg and a tail to make it look less furry but lol by their definition of furry, wouldn’t that just make it look MORE furry? People complain for the sake of complaining and it made me felt bad for seeing how many hated the werewolves for many mostly weird reasons, so I felt a little comforted seeing your post. I think they look v v cute.

frfr, were they expecting TS4 to pull out some “American Werewolf in London John Landisx Rick Baker x The Sims 4” collab game pack ahshshsh i think its almost impossible to make a werewolf design that doesnt look “furryish” or whatever because werewolves/the old hollywood movie monsters like ~the wolfman~ are literally the blueprint of anthropomorphic human animal hybrids which is essentially what furries are just less horror like lmfao like did people want werewolves who were basically like TS4 dogs but bigger, furrier and w/ sharper fangs? like some scrapped designs from a cancelled twilight video game or something? i may be cynical but i doubt it bc 100% people would still complain about it “just being like the dogs but bigger add this remove that” and ur totally right about the tail and more “canine hind legs” thing because its legit how ive seen most people drawing fursonas based on canine rather than the classic design of werewolves with the more wolf like head and fur but still with fairly human arms and legs with claws which is literally the classic design for werewolves/wolf men (??) i just felt rlly awful seeing that the artist who merely did an independent design for EA saw the really shitty comments about their design, i dont rlly care for occults in general but the werewolves genuinely look rlly cute and it sucks to know that the artist who put so much effort and was probably v excited to share the final result saw all the comments just downright being demeaning of their work it just rlly made me upset for them as someone who also does art i cant even imagine seeing that type of stuff, i hope they know so many more people have love and think their designs are great/cute, are such a step up for werewolves in the franchise and match the game style rlly well!!

Still kind of learning lyraphim anatomy.. very long skinny things. ive worked on this for weeks and now i am going to forget about it for another week before i go back to it. i cant really tell if it looks "correct" until i see it after not looking at it for a few days. I still have to add and refine some things and add the rest of Blake's leg that should be visible from this angle

Blake/Kazimir and Raziel. I dont think Blake is called "Blake" by the other characters, its a name Ive called her for a while and it comes from the word "black". Kazimir is her "real" name given to her when she was created by Thethuthinnang like the other lyraphim. she does use a different name on earth, probably several as she interacts with humans while posing as one, Blake mightve been one of them but Im not rlly feeling that as her official (fake) name anymore.

Rambling about Lyr biology below

I usually see Raziel as the top but Ive wanted to draw this for a while. I think theyre both switches but Blake is the more submissive one in her relationships. Shes forcing his head down but she isnt harming him, lyraphim form deep bonds with each other and usually know exactly what they want and what their limits are. This is more like foreplay and shes grabbing his tail because the base of the tail is an erogenous zone for lyraphim

I refer to Raziel as He and Blake as She a lot but they arent heterosexual to me lol. Biologically they arent considered males or females as lyraphim have infinite lifespans and dont reproduce organically. So theres no need for any kind of strict sex binary to keep the species going. Because of this they also dont have a gender binary, it's just not something they go through life thinking about because why make something out of nothing? They can have secondary sex characteristics like breasts but it serves no real function for them and its just a cool design element i give my creatures. Lailah is a lyr who is very "woman presenting" but I didnt give her breasts just to make the point that those features arent tied to what pronouns i use on them. Their actual sex organs are also very customizable thanks to their shapeshift ability and for them its just a matter of preference or whats convenient to the situation. I'll make a post on that too since I just like cool alien biology stuff

landscape/scenery/architecture 😭 i rlly need to just sit down & study these a lot & build a true interest+curiosity toward them that way also trees. places. you know. like i need to give a fuck in the first place then connect that way

it's just disjointed in my brain whenever i try.. but i'm sure its possible to understand it if i keep practicing more seriously 👍

every day:) for a lot of stuff mostly poses fashion patterns faces...... & studies of whtever im drawn to at the moment..... also drawing friends during class & just objects in front of me (i wanna do this more to build a better sense of depth)

very quick i think i dont rly check time.. i cant stand taking too long on a piece. sometimes i rush at the end because i just need it to be done LOL def need to work on this bc its satisfying to 'do things well'/properly. In your heart

It's connected to a core quality of aliveness/vitality i want to make something that can truly expand, bring hope, playfulness, sometimes it is other things too,art 4 another purpose('therapy',recognizing something ugly)(not like i can stop drawing even if i do feel purposeless on occasion ).. and mostly: an overall tribute to this world

Araki calling jojo "an ode/celebration to humanity" was so striking to me i hope i can make something this meaningful one day. think about the ways you have been impacted by the people in your life.change, movement ,it always has to do with growth an entirely new perspective tht shatters your worldview into something else..... That's the sort of thing that ' inspires 'me

IM SO GLAD U ASKED this game is probsbly my favorite game ever its been a special interest if mine since i was 7 and i dont think its a GOOD game per se bt i love it a lot and it impacted me a lot as a little kid w a mild interest in art :)

so basically the game is a little 2d adventure platformer where u get to draw and design the character u play as. its p clunky and the way ur character moves looks rlly silly bt again this game was released in like 2010 on the ds so its ok .. the game also gave u templates to go off of and use too just in case u didnt want to design a character from scratch

the story of the first game is abt this world that was drawn into existence by “the creator” in the book of life. u hav this little sequence where u get to draw the world, and the forrests and the creatures tht wld inhabit it. the creatures tht inhabit the world are callec raposa and they r little fox creature w funny ears :)

like this guy (his name is zsasha and hes a thief but hes like a bad one who ends up returning all of the stuff he steals and also watching over a little orphan girl who he basically adopts LOL)

in the universe if the game the “creator” eventually went silent and the raposa lost hope in them ever returning. the world was slowly shrouded in darkness and gradually all of the raposa inhabiting this little village were either lost or left on purpose bc it was slowly falling apart. the game starts when one of the remaining raposa, mari, prays to u, the creator, to come back and help restore her village, saying that everyone else has lost hope but she still believes you can return to her. u can answer, and either say that u will help or you wont, but either way u end up agreeing to help her and she goes to tell her dad, the mayor, abt it. you create a “hero” to be the vessel you will speak thru, and thats the character u end up designing and playing as. the game is abt going to various areas from the village and rescuing all of the raposa that are lost there, as well as restoring the village to what it used to be and drawing in bits of the landscape, like the sun and plants and stuff.

the villain of the story is a guy named wilfre, who was another villager in the town who ended up drawing in the book of life bc he wanted to create things the way the creator had. he ended up making these big inky monsters and got consumed by them, and when u meet him at the beginning of the game he tears up a bunch of pages in the book of life which get scattered across the land and you have to collect them in order to restore the village.

so u basically just go around saving villagers, collecting pages of the book of life, and redrawing bits of the town that were lost to wilfres shadows. eventually wilfre ends up like, killing maris dad (the mayor) and then after youve restored a majority of the village you enter his realm and kill him!! yay :)

throughout the game you also meet these two weird npcs called heather and mike. heather is a little raposa girl who has half of her face covered in shadows, and shes mostly mute. shes found early on in the game and is taken care of by another one of the main characters named jowee

mike is a character u end up rescuing later on in the game, hes p confused and doesnt know how he got where he is, and hes also different from the other raposa bc he doesnt have ears like they do and kind of just looks like a normal human (even tho none of the raposa know what that is and they just think he looks rlly weird)

in the first game heather is shown to take a liking to mike but it isnt explained why and she doesnt talk to its left unexplained

so yah the first game ends with you, the hero, defeating wilfre. mari takes on the role of her father and becomes mayor of the town, and all of the raposa (+ mike) live happily in the town youve restored. the hero goes dormant because theyre no longer needed and u get a scene at the end of the game w them sitting by the ghost of maris father.

the SECOND game takes place a while after the first game, in which wilfre returns and captures heather at the beginning of the game. he also kidnaps a bunch of the other villagers and transports them somewhere else, and he drains the color out of the village the raposa were in. they end up fleeing on a giant turtle with an abandoned town on its back that appears while the color is draining from the village. inside mari and jowee find another mannequin similar to the one the creator had drawn the hero on in the first game. they pray to the creator for help and thats when u draw the hero u get to play as for that game!! the hero doesnt seem to remember mari and jowee or any of the events of the first game, but they agree to help them rescue heather and all of the villagers wilfre stole.

jowee also has like, this magic pendant that belonged to heather that he found after wilfre took her, which seems to be leading them to where heather is. they use that to navigate the turtle thru the ocean to a bunch of other islands on the world. the second game is basically about traveling to different islands and helping them restore the color thats been drained out of them by wilfre. you also meet these two characters, salem

who is a villain in the first island u travel to, and sock

who is a villager on the first island u visit who ends up befriending jowee and traveling with them while they try to save heather.

so ur doing all of that but THEN, halfway thru the game mari is shown to be talking to wilfre, and then she dissapears. jowee assumes wilfre has captured her too, but shes later seen on the turtle again, and rips out a bunch of pages in the book of life the way wilfre did in the first game, and then wilfre appears to take her away and says that shes working with him now. jowee is heartbroken but resolves to get her back as well as heather

THEN, sock, jowees friend from the first island whos been tagging along and helping out, is ALSO revealed to be wilfre in disguise and he betrays jowee and steals heathers pendent, leaving jowee with basically no means of finding heather and wikfre and mari by extension.

so eventually they do end up finding where wilfre is and mari is like “jowee you dont understand wilfre has shown me the truth of our world and who the creator is and thats why im helping him” and jowee is like “i cant believe yoy are helping him how could you i cant believe you bla bla bla” and so wilfre is like “FINE ill show you the TRUTH of this world” and takes jowee and then the hero is kind of left ln their own for a bit to like wander around the world and try to keep rescuing ppl and such. and eventually jowee comes back and is like shaken up but kind of vague abt what wilfre showed him, but he still decides to side with the hero and the creator and eventually mari is convinced by him to join them again as well

so u fight wilfre again and EVENTUALLY wilfre reveals that if you defeat him basically the entire world will dissapear and thats what hes been trying to avoid by fucking w things and messing with the book of life. so all of the raposa have a bunch existential crisis abt them ceasing to exist if they go thru with this but then they decide to to it anyway bc the alternative is just as bad blah blah and u go and kill wilfre and he does this when he dies which is cool

and now heather is back!! and her and mari and jowee are all talking about mike and how important he is and meanwhile mike has no clue whats going on and is kind of freaked out by all of this, but theyre all like “mike you need to wake up” as theyre all fading out of existence and shit around him and eventually him and heather are the only ones left and they dissapear too

^ they ended up releasing different versions oft he game w a less dark (but still w the whole ‘it was all a dream twist’) and thats it!!

there was also another game released for the wii that like gave wilfre a girlfriend kind of but i never played it to completion bc it used the wii remotes motion controls to like draw and shit and it was rly janky and hard so i never finished it and most ppl did the same. i kind of rlly want to try playing it again tho bc it was a p cute looking game even if the controls were fucked up

AND YEA thats drawn to life its a weird silly little series tht i was obsessed w when i was a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart :) i basicaly just spoiled the entire series i guess but if u have a ds or a 3ds (bc the game is backwards complatible ! ) id still suggest like getting a cartidge off ebay or something and playing it bc its honestly a rlly sweet and beautiful looking game and i think a lot of it still homds up even if the controls r rlly janky now
