Szayel approaches the expensive desk.  He admires the old style.  He knows the amount of money that goes into furniture like that, the thick, sturdy wood, the carving, the tooled leather top.  

Rather than be rude, he removes the worn explorer’s hat  and places it under an arm as he nods in greeting.

“Hello.  I’m pleased to meet you.  I’ve heard about the prestige of the expeditions that you fund, so it’s an honor to receive you as a contact.”

He stands tall.  His daemon, a bright red and purple parrot dances, shifting her weight from one talonned foot to the other in her excitement.  She flaps her wings softly before refolding them in a picture of elegance.  

“If I may introduce myself, I’m Szayelaporro Granz, explorer, collector, and purveyor of rare skills and items.” 

He nods to the vibrant bird on his shoulder, offering a leather gloved finger, which she nibbles.  “This is my faithful companion and look-out, Candide.”

His smile is bright and he pushes the brass rimmed glasses further up the bridge of his nose.  

“Between the two of us, we have the brains to get you anywhere in the tundra you need to go.  Tell me, what are you looing for?”

I just...I just love him so much.

I’m so grateful for the love and care that Kubo has put into him.  I’m grateful that I’ve been able to have him as a muse for over 7 years now.

I...I just want so much for him.   So...sooooo much.

I sit around and I see different groups of people on forums and whatnot complaining about shit..but its like you know what?  it’s 70 pages, a single chapter.  It literally CANNOT contain every single thing that everyone wants.

Kubo has always said that he wanted to write a Hell Chapter.   This is what HE has always wanted to do.  

When I see some people sit there all salty as fuck because he didn’t make what they wanted....truly...all I can do is just be like...really?   You’re mad because a creator made something that he’s always wanted to create?   He doesn’t make things for you.  We are blessed to get anything from anyone, him included.   Whether its manga from Kubo, or fanart,  or beautifully written threads from RP partners.  If we support him making things...then he’ll MAKE MORE.  And then maybe your desires will be next.

- goes almost exclusively by “the huntress”, being referred to as “anna” confuses her a bit as she isn’t use to it — though she does respond to it. nicknames like “annie” or “ann” are outright ignored by her if it’s coming from people she doesn’t know/isn’t all that fond of.

- physically around late 20s to early 30s. she doesn’t have a birthday as she doesn’t know what day she was born (and if she did she wouldn’t care anyway), so she doesn’t have an exact age. she is over 7′5 or so with a muscular build.

- sapphic-coded, she displays a heavy positive bias towards women and fem aligned people in general. there are exceptions, but very few of them

Sora : 

I can’t stress this enough gu y s, Sora always w a n t s to bring everyone along. He lives by that “the more the merrier” motto and won’t hesitate to rent a van if MORE people tagged along - of course you want this to be more intimate and less chaotic so he has to settle with a road trip date.

Because he’s a people person, you guys will most likely end up meeting a lot of different and peculiar people on the way, even if it’s to ask for just directions. All of them friendly too, so don’t worry ! (try not to get jealous if he starts to give everyone his number, he just has a talent for making friends)

Sora would definitely overpack. But just adds shit that you guys will probably don’t need or that he just wants to take along, like you know, this one teddy bear he likes to cuddle while sleeping (he gets homesick way easily) and whatnot. You’re gonna have to help him out here.

Vanitas :

He literally shows up at your door with one crusty looking backpack on his shoulder and asks if you want to go on a spontaneous road trip with him. What do you mean if he has planned anything ? H A H, of course not ! Who do you take him for ? Well, actually maybe there is something - 

Like you know, he wants to see a meteor shower that’s happening somewhere aaaand he thought it would be nice if you came along. But please wipe that shit eating grin off your face. He won’t let you inside the car if you don’t stop smiling like that. That’s it, he’s going alone gOODBYE-

Okay but if you want adventure, just go on a roadtrip with Vanitas. He plans absolutely nothing but the bare basics and lets the universe decide your fates. However, if anything goes wrong, he always manages to turn that situation into a decently pleasant time (right after either throwing a tantrum or trying to fight his way out)

Ventus :

Like Sora, he overpacks - but instead gets everything that you two might need in case of e m e r g e n c y. Sunscreen, sunglasses, parasols ? Got it. Raincoats, extra clothes ? Got it. Like yeah Ventus we get it, you can protect your partner from the apocalypse itself, geE Z.

One of his biggest fears about road trips is ending up in an awkward silence and running out of interesting things to do, so he’d try to plan the route with the most interesting things ! 

At first he’d be nervous, because he’s never driven for so many hours but he’s too polite to ask you to take the wheel for a while. Once you see him start blinking f a s t e r and looking around as if consumed by paranoia itself, it’s your turn to drive, buddy. Ventus gets increasingly paranoid and meticulous the more he drives, but he does loosen up more during the trip.

Roxas :

Roxas would use his braincell and plan this roadtrip with you, like that seems to be the best idea here. You two would decide on a place to go and the things you’d like to do on the route, e t c ! He’s also very calm about it, like sure some stuff can go wrong but hey, you got each other in the end.

If you two go through the country side, he’ll d e m a n d that you two pull up to pet the cows. And the horses. And the sheep. And literally any animal that’ll allow you two to pet it. Also to take pictures, cause he l o v e s having these little reminders of your trip together.

Because there’s never any stars visible at night where you two live, he’d love to do that cliche thing in movies, where you two will just stop in the middle of nowhere and sit on the hood of the car to stargaze and chill until sunrise.

Xion :

Road trip ? Don’t worry, she’s got this. You can just sit back and relax cause Xion is on top of her shit, so she’ll get everything ready pretty quickly ! We know she’s good at organizing, but doesn’t reach the level of controlling freak - she’d love some unexpected adventures during the roadtrip ! 

And that’s exactly what would happen. Surprise ! You two got lost ! After a few moments of silent frustration, you would suggest the idea of a s k i n g the locals (since this GPS is going fuckin haywire, GPS become human). Xion would be a little bit hesitant, since she was supposed to plan the perfect trip. But she’s not as stubborn as the rest, she’d listen to your advice and b a m, you two are back on your path ! 

Wherever you two end up going, she’d love to get little gifts for your friends back home ! Postcards, keychains, little plushies... You name it. She would also take sneaky pictures of you, both memey and aesthetic.

first, i want to say that i’m grateful that you still appreciate and respect tdmm!!!! that part is so important since there are a lot of people who don’t accept other people’s preferences..! that being said, i think an important part of being.. unaffected/not bitter (?) towards ships that you don’t particularly prefer is respecting each character individually. like, maybe do spend some time in the yaomomo tag? she and todoroki are individually great characters! 

momo is:

kind and cares about her classmates

part of the bakugou rescue squad despite not really interacting with him much previously 

committed to heroics and doing whats right! she has a strong sense of justice

really cool quirk. she’s so smart

has to understand the foundation of everything she creates.. her quirk itself has so much potential, but so much of it depends on a insane brain capacity. the fact that she can make any nonliving thing, from clothing to fullsized canons?? that’s incredible……

on todoroki’s end of this, i just.. love him so much. i like to see him happy and healthy, and so i don’t mind any relationship that supports his well being. i think that’s why i can accept so many todoships… even if i don’t really like them or actively think about them. for example!!!! i really like.. don’t ship tddk at all. but i understand that the basis for the ship is solid and they have a good relationship so!!! since it’s healthy and cute, i show support for it (:

so that leads into thiiiiis, the basis for tdmm! i’ll just list a few common reasons people seem to like tdmm. when you think about it, it’s actually similar to tddk. oh and i threw some headcanons in there because.. why not lol

i like to imagine that momo knew todo before they started at yuuei. the end of term arc. that’s a turning point for a lot of people!!! 

todoroki turns around and throws his confidence and support to momo, similar to how deku did to him (on a smaller scale) 

momo is smart. she’s so smart, but she lacks confidence. todoroki is similar, incredibly powerful and tactic, but lacked trust in himself. it took a friend for todoroki to start reaching his full potential, and it’s the same for momo.. todoroki was that friend

she knew how to win, what to do when they fought aizawa. but she was so unsure of herself. it took todoroki telling her, hey, sorry for not hearing you out, your idea is great and you should go for it!!! it took a friend to push her forward, and that companionship was found with todoroki

todo gets so flustered and blushy when she actually plays out her plan!!!! like really!!!!! shy boy

Hey there! I’ll let you know how I specifically set up a new blog. It’s different for everyone.

Sleep on it. This is a weird one. Whenever friends come to me asking if they should make a character, I like to tell them to sleep on the idea. A lot of times people pick up a character they may not understand or don’t know how to play, so when they actually make the blog, they feel sad and disappointed by their own writer’s block. I like to pine over the character first and create some headcanons so I already have a picture of the character in my head.

Aesthetic. Yeah, we all know I’m a slut for aesthetic, and this goes from the URL selection to the tagging format. 

URL. Personally, I’m partial to shorter URLs, and nothing too on-the-dot. For example, if making a Loki blog, I’m not too partial to something like ‘iamloki’ or ‘lokilaufeyson’ or something. I like a bit of imagination. Using the native language of the character, if it’s not English, is always cool. ‘misunne’ means envy in Norwegian. My Belle is ‘greatsomewhere’ from my favorite line of hers in her song Belle (reprise). Some of my favorite URL selections are Ryder’s skychose for Anakin (how Anakin chose to roam among the stars, and it’s a twist off of his last name), Annie’s guiltweathered for Tony (guilt is a big subject to Tony’s character, and the boi is tired), go on and so forth.

Theme. Now, this is where some people have a lot of dispute. So many say you don’t need to be overflowing with aesthetic to be a good RPer. I agree to a point. I consider your theme and aesthetic to be your blog’s handshake, and it’s really easy to make it cool. You can go full out like mine (Ryder made it for me) and design a background to fit around a theme. If you don’t have photoshop skills or you just don’t want to, minimalism is always in. This is why I think it’s easy to make your aesthetic look nice. Check out my Belle’s minimalist theme at @greatsomewhere . Clean, crisp, and white, with a pic describing her. Books! Easy. I like to get my themes from theme-hunter or just poking around my followers/mutuals’ theme makers.

Blog preview. Again, people trip up here. This is before your handshake. This is your first smile when you meet someone. Make it look nice. I like to make my mobile banners on photoshop with psds and whatnot (Loki’s current one is made by Ryder), but when I first started as Loki, I just wanted to get going, so I used something I found on Pinterest. Yep, that was literally it. It’s minimalist, drawing, and not too confusing. Do NOT make your preview colors anything but a neutral tone. I’ve seen bright blues, greens, pinks. I immediately click away, they hurt my eyes. Make sure your blog preview clearly says who your character is, what fandom they’re from, and your alias. This is the bare minimum. These things are required. I can’t tell you how many people I see around who have nothing at all. Don’t make your followers dig to see who your character is.

The blog itself. Again, you can be pretty simple here. A lot of people have fancy pop-ups, as do I, but it’s not necessary. Just making pages with links is good enough. You need to have a rules page, which needs to have the bare minimum of your age (18+ or minor is good enough), your alias, your pronouns, your triggers, and your interaction policy. Are you mutuals only? Are you open to non-mutuals? These are requirements. Beyond that, I like to have my thoughts on shipping (if you have a ship you will NOT do, or one that you love), mains/exclusivity (I’m never exclusive, but let people know if you will only play with one version of a character), and anything else you want your followers to know before interacting with you. I’m always editing my rules. Beyond your rules, if you’re an OC (or canon divergent canon character), have a detailed about page. It’s nice to have a verses (where you have the tags for all your different verses and AUs) and navigation (links to your open starters, meme tag, headcanon tag, etc) page. Then whatever else you want.

I list all the aesthetic things first because it’s best that your blog is at least SLIGHTLY finished before starting. I know you may be eager to start right away after making a URL, but I won’t follow a blog with nothing on it. If a blog is just the basic Tumblr theme, I’ll assume it’s a spam blog. We get a lot of those. I block spam blogs on sight.

Content. If a blog is all done up and pretty but with nothing on it, I won’t follow back right away. I may come back to look again later, but I may forget. Try to get some content on there first. Reblog your faceclaim, some aesthetic things, and maybe write a headcanon or two, just so people can see your formatting and writing pattern. Do you write in purple prose? Is your writing straight forward? Is it heavy with narrative? Is it mostly dialogue? Do you use icons? What kinds? There are always people who will write with different kinds of writing patterns, and always those who won’t. I like to make sure we have similar writing patterns before following.

Advertisement. After your blog is pretty and functional and you have some stuff on there, it’s time to let people know about it! Create a promo! These can be as simple or fancy as you want. When I first made Belle, I just wanted to get started, so I made one of those text promos that were popular a few months ago. I let people know I was still under construction, too. Just so they knew. Later when I put more time into it, I used one of the cool new templates that are going around, and I love them so much. I have photoshop, but I’m not good at it, and this is as easy as copy paste. 

Tags. How will people find you if you don’t have them? They’re so important! Personally, and I know a lot of people feel the same, I won’t follow people without some sort of tagging system. For promos, tag it with ways you would search in the Tumblr search engine for an RP blog. For Belle, I put things like ‘disney rp, disney roleplay, beauty and the beast rp, batb rp’, so on and so forth. For your average posting tags, I prefer to keep it simple. I have a tag for each verse, an in character and out of character tag, and I always tag the url of the person I’m reblogging in a reply. Making fancy url tags for your partners is cool, but ALWAYS leave their basic URL as well. If I go on my partner’s page and search my URL tag for my last reply but can’t find it bc it’s just a fancy one, I’m very annoyed.

Search! Same as above – go find people! Search the same tags you made, look for masterlists. Once you follow a few blogs you’re interested in, Tumblr recommends similar blogs, so I love eating those up.

Interact! People don’t really do intro starters anymore, like when someone follows you back and you make them a starter, but hey, you do you. It’s great to have a starter call out there (and reblog it a few times, like twice a day or so), as well as a sentence starter meme. Like people’s starter calls. Send them memes. Respect their rules. If they say they’re mutuals only, oblige. Don’t send them things if you’re not mutuals. (If you’re brand new, mutual means you follow them and they follow you.)

Have fun and don’t be discouraged! Making a new blog is hard. My Loki has something like 550 followers, Belle has something like 30. Depending on the character, the size of the fandom, a bunch of little things, it may take some time to get noticed. Don’t expect people to jump on you right away. It’s your job to reach out to them. Act like your blog already has a bunch of followers. I like to post jokes, headcanons, my feelings about my character, so when people follow or visit my blog, they see how passionate I am about my character and how much I’m thinking about them. People love to see you love your character. Don’t be negative. Do NOT post about how few followers you have, or how you’re not being noticed. I know it may be disappointing, but that sort of thing will only discourage them from following. Love your followers: thirty followers are just as beautiful as five hundred. They’ll keep coming. In the meantime, establishing great connections with the followers you do have will make it seem like you have a thousand. Make your blog a happy place to be! Make friends! There is always someone there who is interested.

OTP’s and Ships I Love:

Gency: First ship I ever shipped in this fandom. I know that it can easily fall into the “doctor/patient” tropes that are so disliked among the fandom, but I’ve never seen it like that. I headcanon that they only started developing a real relationship after the Recall, when Genji’s dependence on Mercy was at a minimum, when she was basically just one of several doctors he could go to for checkups and whatnot. Overall, I just like the idea of them supporting one another when the stress of everything gets too great.

Zaryatta: Okay, normally I don’t like the “enemies to friends to lovers” trope, but Zen just seems like the kind of guy who would be able to respect Zarya’s feelings while also nudging her in a more tolerant direction. Plus, Zen helping her cope with her self-imposed duty (and her becoming an advocate for omnic rights) is just way too sweet to imagine.

Reinzo: Hanzo deserves the guy with the biggest heart. And Reinhardt would be able to love the surly archer enough for the both of them.

Anahardt: Cute, old couple. Let them be happy.

Bunnyribbit: The young power couple of revolution and dedicated to protecting and helping their countries. They would just get along so well!

Healing Arrow: Kind of like Reinzo, but with more mutual support and learning to help each other without just relying on themselves.

Junkmetra: It has the aesthetic of Wall.E and Eve. Of course I’d love it! It isn’t all I love about it, though. I headcanon Junkrat as neuroatypical, and I like the idea that they’d be able to relate to each other a lot, despite how different their approaches are to dealing with the world.

Harmonerf: ... I honestly don’t know. I just really like the fanart.

Crack Ships:

Widowgenji: This is a semi-serious ship for me. Their experiences with Overwatch and Talon feel like direct parallels of each other, and that’d just make really interesting dynamics.

Zen hack: Ship Zenny with all the people!

Dva76: I totally don’t ship this seriously, but it makes for some of the funniest jokes I’ve seen.

Bastion/Adam (my OC): Very, very self-indulgent, asexual romantic ship.

I Wish I Shipped It:

Pharm//ercy: The content is so cute, but some of the fans put me off the ship before I built up enough fondness for it.

Mcha//nzo: I can’t really explain why I dislike this one. I think it’s because I just never like the most popular pairing in a fandom, no matter what it is.

Roa//drat: I think this is primarily because I headcanon that Roadhog feels guilty for ruining Junkrat’s life. So despite the fact that I see them as pretty good buddies, I just can’t ship them romantically.

Not My Cup of Tea:

Geny//atta: Patient/therapist relationships are not my thing, and that’s always what this ship felt like to me.

Widowtr//acer: The dislike between these two is so prevalent in the canon that I have a hard time imagining a scenario where they become fond enough of each other to start something together.

So//m.va: I see D.Va as far too much of a fair and just person to put up with Sombra’s shenanigans for more than a long weekend.

Amaric//est and Shima//dacest: Pretty self-explanatory.

And fun, usually, though there are times when she goes off the rails and gets to be too much even for me. She’s got a lot of stuff going on under the surface, mentally. I kind of wish someone could force her to get serious and face some of that, but at the same time, it’s absolutely antithetical to who she is. Of course I also have great love for Mirrak (@theislandtrolls​) considering that she was basically my only/primary muse for like a year.

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): I just? love?? Hawke???? People bash DA2 a lot, but it was the first Dragon Age game and really the first heavily story/character-based game I played, and I love it. It has plot holes you could drive a truck through, but that just makes me want to write my own versions, tbh. (@Bioware hire me to single-handedly remake DA2 I will do it with love)

What are your favourite aspects of your current muse: Honestly one of the things I’ve been enjoying in RP is how Hawke can go from goofing around to very serious in an instant. Like, one minute it’s joke joke goof, the next it’s “and I’ve watched hundreds of people die, their deaths still weighing on my conscience because I couldn’t save them.” Chill, Hawke.

Also, it’s fun to play a muse whose setting and therefore worldview is so dramatically different than most of the other muses they interact with. I haven’t run into a lot of other characters who hail from medieval worlds where violence, xenophobia, and prejudice are so rampant and widely accepted. (I mean, Alternia is like that but it’s ... different. I guess because Alternia doesn’t really have a front of polite society? Like, most troll muses understand that their world is hyperviolent and unpleasant, whereas Hawke sees Thedas as normal and has nothing to compare it to.) Like, one of the interesting moments early in this blog was when Nadir got really angry at Hawke for calling him a demon, a slur in his context, and kept accusing Hawke of bigotry. Hawke was just baffled because Thedas hasn’t really gotten to the point of “hey bigotry and prejudice are bad” yet; they’re just accepted parts of life, often even encouraged. This is not to say that Hawke supports bigotry, just that they didn’t have the context to take that accusation seriously in a modern sense. I’m trying to come up with an analogy but none are working too well ... I guess it’s a bit like if you told someone back in the 20′s or whatever, before people really realized/believed that tobacco was harmful, that they needed to stop smoking?

(Bonus fun fact: Hawke is actually the most well-adjusted, emotionally healthy, and socially adequate muse I have, which is .... something.)

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: ????? I just don’t know how to shut up. (Honestly I wrote something about displacing my feelings + wish fulfillment but then I remembered that I have some seriously creepy muses and like .......... nah.)

Favourite types of threads: I love? everything?? I do enjoy threads that explore the world a character lives in, whether through them telling someone else or through the other character physically hanging out with them. (It does get tricky, though ... I mostly notice it with my Mass Effect OC’s since they’re supposed to be experts who could definitely explain all their tech and history and I’m over here like “I don’t?? know???? please stop asking me how mass relays work I don’t know I love Mass Effect but the science has never made sense to me.”) I also love threads where, like, characters talk out their feelings? (Pro tip: ask Hawke about their insomnia and/or nightmares sometime.) For Hawke I would love to have them talk about their companions more, but I feel like it’d be weird for them to just start giving strangers full bios and descriptions of their relationships. Also, light banter threads are really fun, and I have to say that this (Hawke arguing with @revasem Fenris purely through dog gifs) is probably one of my favorite threads from this blog; I think about it like every day.

Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: I’m used to RPing Homestuck, and since Homestuck has a canonical concept of multiple universes/timelines, it’s very easy to explain duplicates, discrepancies in canon/headcanon, etc. It’s been kind of difficult to handle that stuff with a muse who not only doesn’t have that concept but whose religion and worldview actively deny it. (”As there is but one life, one death, one world ...”) Honestly I would love to do more in-person threads and whatnot but my ability to do so is kind of limited by the fact that Hawke continues to suspect that everything out of the ordinary is demonic or otherwise harmful -- which is completely normal from their perspective! It’s funny watching people be like “wow you’re paranoid” when Hawke has actually been far more open to the otherworldly than they probably should be, given their belief system and the Thedan/Andrastian worldview of “demons are trying to tempt us all the time.” And, like, even if you manage to convince Hawke, a character like Nadir or Acer who looks obviously nonhuman can’t just walk around Kirkwall without inciting panic and templar attention.
