Happy surprise (belated) Birthday @thatmooncake!

Thank you for all the kind comments and good laughs you share, with their birthday popping up I thought I’d have a go at doodling up their versions of Sun and Moon from their Magical Mascots au (and I also got a chuckle out of giving Moon a Moon-shaped cake). Hope you like it! (-and don’t forget to share some cake with the caged Moon hehe)

This was initially going to do a lil’ quick doodle to drop your way on the day but I got to colouring and had too much fun not to shade it oop.

because this has come up with a few friends before, i am curious -- in the replies or tags, can you list:

what you consider the average song length

what you consider 'long' for a song, and 'short' for one

a few genres you listen to the most/consider your favorite

#for me i consider 4-5 average #7 minutes or longer is long #2-3 minutes or shorter is notably short #and my favorite genres are rock n hip hop from the 90s-2000s #at least sayin from QotSA bein my fave and listening to Mos Def and a lotta others from that era or newer #hip hop & rap seems to vary quite a bit in song length #hard rock is pretty flatly consistent (esp with sumn like RATM) but any tinge of outer influence can change that #QotSA has their 7-9 minute songs #and Mars Volta n King Gizzard notably have some reaaaal long songs cuz of psych influence #or prog in MV's case

#roronoa zoro #one piece #opfanart #ive spent a good 2/3 of my artist life trying to draw him in a way i like.... i'm inching to it slowly bit by bit as i improve #which is truly One of my greatest joys as an artist - learning to draw better so i can draw my faves better #zoro is genuinely my favorite fictional character everrrrrrr... i think.... i love him so much but i have long since ran out of words to #Describe why. and i dont think any other character has come close tbh -- EXCEPT FOR WOLFWOOD!!!!! god. WW!!!!!!!!#which is crazy. but ww is very special. very dear. zoro and ww are very different... someone more similar to ww would be sanji and robin #but there's also smth about them that are so Similar. i sound like an insane person in these tags and clearly im bias BUT I SWEAR!!!#it might just be the loyalty aspect - incredibly strong traits in both of them.... also nightow drew wolfwood in a haramaki once......#connecting the most minor dots over nothing - but any ww + zoro lovers out there - maybe u understand what i mean.

OLLD drawing I can share now of Timmy after recovery and care from staying on double life and being looked after by the box boys~

He’s healthier, happier, his hair and wings have grown back out and have a pretty blue-black sheen to them (that he never knew he had bc in hels his diet and environment only let them be dull) and he just heard the sound of a portal opening for someone to come visit~!

#I’m still gonna draw scraggly Timmy most of the time bc this version is only after a LONG long road of peace and health on double life #BUT LOOK AT HIM!!!!#my fave bit is that he still gets to have his long hair like he likes but he’s confident enough #to push it out of his face with ren’s glasses when he wants #the glasses also let him flip them down and protect his eyes which he needed a LOT when starting out #the sun is so warm and pretty but his eyes have known mostly darkness of his cave in hels so he needs some light reduction here and there #anyways I’m so happy to share this I will always love and explore pathetic creature Timmy and DONT GET ME TWISTED—he’s still very pathetic #even when healthy but he’s learned and growed and gets to put meat on him bones #gets a bit more of that Jimmy broadness in his shoulders and stands up a bit straighter so ppl realize even more that he kinda tall!!!#ok enough yammering BAM HITS U WITH THE TIMMY SMILE RAY HAVE A GOOD DAY #hels to pay au #htp art #Timmy #htp spoilers

What if we were both magic prodigies and it otherized us in different ways and we devoted ourselves to protecting a family member who has general other goals & priorities. What if we both did self-sacrifical devotion in opposite ways.

What if we were dark mirrors of each other and where I've grown overcontrolling you've grown complacent. What if, bought as a servant into a pretty loving home, ownership and control is what love looks like to me, and to you neglected and lonely growing up, love is gratefully taking any scraps of it you’re lent.

By belonging to someone, even if she comes back injured or fails at finding Delgal, she feels like she belongs and is cherished, by owning someone he feels safe in them not leaving him.

She’s what’s tethering him do you see… And he’s the only thing giving her direction and purpose in her state. She needs a compass and he needs a support.

They’re both so out of it 😭 It’s the weirdly intense and unearned mutual trust and reliance on each other?? They’re each other’s weird little comfort codependent teddy bear. Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked. We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.

They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay
