Contest Entry #4
Paring: Yandere Dabi X Reader
Genre: I..am not too sure? Fluff as far as yandere goes but also angst? Ya’ll can tell me because this is my first time writing Yandere.
Warning: This writing contains Stockholm syndrome as well as themes of abuse(physical and mental), isolation, violence, burning and neglect.
 “You’re going to behave, right?”
He wasn’t always like this, that wasn’t to say he was ever good but when he was younger he wasn’t bad-or maybe you were just too naïve to notice back then.  It wouldn’t be surprising considering you’d been too naïve to see just how bad he was until he dragged you into the shadows along with him. For months you thought a hero would come and save you but they never did.  They didn’t look for very long either, Dabi made sure you knew that.  Your picture was only in the paper for a month or two before being replaced by news about somebody breaking into the U.A.  After that your picture was never in the paper again, the missing girl forgotten because the future heroes were in danger.
“Hey.” There was only a slight change to his tone but it pulled you from your thoughts.
Looking up at him you nodded, “I am.”
Content with your response the two of you continued walking.  It was your first time being out in public for so long, the first time since he snatched you away.  With so many people around now would be a perfect time to scream for help, to try and run like you had so many times before but you didn’t or rather you couldn’t-yet.
Every so often you’d catch people looking your way but it was impossible to tell if they were looking at Dabi or yourself.  Sometimes it seemed like they were trying to place you but you doubted they’d be able to. Actually with so many eyes glancing your way you couldn’t help but take a step closer to your captor, suddenly self-conscious.  Before attention had never been something you struggled with but now it felt odd being around so many others.  Sometimes it felt odd having so much of Dabi’s attention too.  When you used to try and run he’d lock you away in a smaller room with enough food to last you a week or two before coming back.  When you tried to fight..inadvertently you brought both your hands up to your shoulders.  Despite being covered by his oversized shirt you knew his hand prints were there, burned into your skin for now and ever.  Your shoulders weren’t the only place you’d been burnt but they were the last and perhaps that’s why they stood out more.  Why they seemed to bother you more.  They were from your last attempted escape.
Still, despite all the times you tried to run or even fight him he continued to love you-or at least that’s what he said.  He’d clean any wounds he gave you and offer you all any affection you wanted when releasing you from your solitude.  It was his fault but..unlike everybody else he was still there unlike everybody else. When you use to hide in the hopes he’d leave to go look for you?  He’d tear up the league’s base searching for you and some twisted part of you now found that reassuring.
“Hey…isn’t that the girl that went missing a few months ago?”
“Call for heroes.”
“The league of villains is here with a hostage, get somebody!”
You couldn’t help the small smile that made it’s way onto your face hearing their whispers but if you could hear them it meant he could too and Dabi wasn’t an idiot.
“You’re still planning on behaving, right?” He questioned, “I hope you know what’ll happen if you try getting yourself rescued.”
Rescued.  Despite the word seeming foreign you took a deep breath before letting out a blood curling scream.
As expected any and all heroes nearby immediately responded and on as Saturday around noon there were more than enough around to hear it.    You heard Dabi mutter something but his presence quickly disappeared from your side only to be replaced with the presence of several different heroes seconds later.  One, three, six, twelve.  Twelve all in one place and you couldn’t understand why they were all here.  The park was always busy on the weekends you remembered that much but twelve heroes seemed excessive even to you-after all there were probably so many people in secluded areas who needed help too.
Strangely with Dabi now gone and blending into the crowd chaos seemed to erupt from around you.  The heroes asking if you were alright and multiple witnesses butting in and explaining who they saw you with moments ago. It didn’t take long for the heroes to recognize you and call for an ambulance and police.
You’d screamed for help so much when he first kidnaped you, had you not been loud enough then? Despite how long it’d been you could still remember how much your throat had burned. Almost more than his actual flames.
The heroes questions fell on deaf ears as you scanned the crowd in search of him.
“Where’d he go?”
“Is he still around?”
“All civilians need to clear out immediately!”
“It’s safe.” Placing a gentle hand on your shoulder one of the heroes gave you a small smile, “We’ll keep you safe now.”
Their hand there felt wrong, “Don’t touch me!” You snapped, stumbling back and falling in the process.
“She’s shaking.” One of the quietly said to another, “Poor thing I can’t imagine what she’s been through.”
Your next shout died before you could get it out, distracted by a small blue flicker form the side. Snapping your head to the side you found him standing there with a grin. Quickly activating your quirk you clapped your hands together instantly swapping your and Dabi’s spots.
The second the heroes registered what’d just happened it was too late.  Blue flames ignited and consumed the heroes and any nearby civilians as well.  Pained and terrified screams erupted from around you as all civilians started running in the opposite direction, no longer wanting to stay and see what was going to happen but you stayed in place, your focus entirely on Dabi now.
His flames chased after everybody evacuating and consumed any nearby structures and within a few minutes his flames and the two of you were the only thins left.
“Dabi.” Your voice was weaker than you intended it to be but nevertheless he heard it.  Grinning he walked over to you and grabbed your hand before pulling you up.  Wrapping your arms around him you buried your head in his chest and held him tightly, “I couldn’t find you.”
“I already told you I wasn’t going to let you go.” He chuckled and grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at him, “I didn’t know you were such a good actor.  Should I be worried you’re trying to make a fool of me so you can try running again?”
You shook your head, “No.”
“Good.” Spinning you around and placing his hands on your shoulders he lowered his head so it was resting on your shoulder as he admired his and your work, “How sad, twelve heroes and none of them lasted more than a few seconds.”
To the side of the two of you a black portal opened. Sighing Dami looked at it before muttering something about Kurogiri always lurking nearby.
“Let’s go.” He finally said after a few minutes of questioning how the man was seemingly always everywhere at once.  No doubt he was keeping an eye on Shigaraki and all the others now too.
Nodding you followed Dabi into the portal though you made sure to glance back once more at the damage, the same smile form earlier making it’s way onto your face once again.  You couldn’t remember when you fell in love with him, you couldn’t even remember how you’d fallen in love with him.  It was wrong and corrupt but that really didn’t matter now because there was no going back and that was fine with you.  So long as Dabi was here, with you, that was fine.

Contest Entry #2
Paring: Bakguo x Reader(gender neutral)
Genera: Fluff
Summary: Reader is exhausted after running for student body president(and winning) but despite that they take Katsuki out to a comic shop that’s just released new All Might merch as a way of thanking him for his help.
Tumblr media
The last few months had been brutal and not because of hero training-well, not entirely because of hero training.  Sometime ago you’d decided to run for student body president, wanting not only to represent your class but the rest of the students in your year.  Despite being a part of the famous 1-A class you were also connected with other first year students from other sections as well. You’d won but to be honest if you’d known how much extra time, effort, and emotional break downs running was going to have costed you may not have ran in the first place.
Failing to stop a yawn you pulled your phone from your pocket and reread the text from Katsuki. He had to stay late and clean the classroom after starting a fight with Izuku half way through class but you didn’t expect him to take this long.  Well at the very least the comic store was open until ten so even if the two of you had to go out later it’s not like the surprise would be ruined.  It’d taken a bit of extra planning on your part but considering how much Katsuki helped you through the election it really only seemed fair.
‘Maybe I should call the store just to make sure they hold it?’
No, there was nothing to worry about.  You’d pre purchased everything months ago so even if they did run out of the newer All Might merch on the shelves everything you ordered would be safely stored away in the back-and if not you’d probably implode or something.  Kind of an ironic response considering your boyfriends explosive quirk and personality.  Having somewhat reassured yourself you shut your eyes and shoved your phone back in your pocket.
Despite how rowdy class was earlier it seemed like today was the first peaceful day youd had in months. Truthfully you would’ve been happy to just crawl back to your bed and sleep after class but you knew Katsuki was interested in everything being released today and you really did owe him after everything he did to help you with getting elected as student body president-which mainly consisted of him having to stop threatening to kill people for a few months as well as help you with speeches.
“Hey!”
Eyes snapping open you smiled as your eyes landed on Katsuki.  Although his face was contorted into a snarl of some type-probably directed at somebody he passed in the hallway who just happened to say something to set him off you were glad to see him.
“You took long.” You greeted, doing your best to keep your voice light and hide how tired you actually were.   While he may not seem the type to others he was one to worry and if he had any indication of how tired you actually were he’d probably cancel your outing and demand the two of you just hang out at the dorms so you could rest; and while that option was more preferable to you it probably wasn’t something he actually wanted to do, especially considering how many outings he’d opted out of just so he could help you make posters or take polls. No, the two of you were going to that damned comic book store and Katsuki was getting a bundle of brand spanking new All Might merch and nothing-not even Katsuki was going to stop that from happening.
“What about it?” He snapped before more quietly adding, “Fucking Aizawa kept saying the room wasn’t clean enough.”
“Well at least you’re done now.” You smiled and hooked your arm with his own, “Alright, let’s go!” Ignoring his protest you dragged him away from the school and towards the bus stop. Any other day the two of you would’ve walked there but you didn’t have the energy to do so, at least because it was a little later than usual the fact you wanted to take the bus to begin with probably wasn’t too strange-or if it was Katsuki decided not to say anything.
The bus ride went by quickly, you listened to Katsuki rant about his punishment which took up a majority of the ride. Actually you could see the rest of the passengers-particularly parents who had kids sitting beside them or on their lap-relax when the two of stood to get off at your stop.
“Man that took forever.” Stretching his arms above his head Katsuki groaned as his shoulder let out a satisfying pop, “Should’ve just walked.”
“You know it would’ve taken longer if we walked..right?”
“Yeah but we wouldn’t have gotten all those looks.” He grumbled as he pushed forward and opened the door to the comic shop.
‘You’re the reason we got all those looks.’ You kept that to yourself though.
The second the two of you entered the shop Katsuki left your side to go check out what was left of the newly released items-which, wasn’t much.  Yawning and running a hand down your face you let Katsuki browse and made your way over to the counter where a worker was idly fiddling with a small figurine.
As you reached the counter you could feel another wave of exhaustion hit you.  The worker didn’t’ seem to notice as they asked you something you couldn’t completely register at the moment.  Shutting your eyes tightly you shook your head before opening them again.  You were definitely wrong earlier when you assumed you had more energy because at the moment even your legs felt wobbly.
“Uh, are you okay?”
“Sorry, uh yeah.” Giving them a somewhat sheepish smile you continued, “What’d you say earlier?”
“I asked how I can help you.” They said, “Hey do you need a chair or something you look like you’re about to pass out.”
Shaking your head you reassured them you were fine before pulling out your ID and a printed receipt, “I pre ordered some things a few months back and was wondering if I could pick them up today?”
After a seconds hesitation the worker took the receipt and ID from you and looked them over for a minute before nodding, “Good thing you pre ordered the hoodie, we sold out of them like half an hour after opening.  I’ll go grab the order from the back one second.”
Nodding and thanking them you waited until they were out of sight before leaning over onto the counter and taking a deep breath.  You were thankful that your boyfriend was not only such a nerd but that this wave of exhaustion had waited to hit you until now.  Shutting your eyes you continued taking deep breaths all the while trying to convince yourself this was some sort of a powernap.  Really you just needed to hold out until the two of you got back to the dorms.  After this you’d be done with pretty much everything for today-homework would have to wait until tomorrow not that you cared much about that right now.  Yeah, it didn’t matter that it’d probably only be seven by the time you got back to the dorms you were going straight to bed. Just the thought of going to bed almost made you groan.
Just a few more hours.
Just a few more hours.
“Hey, wake up already!”
Eyes popping open you couldn’t stop yourself from panicking at the sudden change in surroundings though Katsuki’s grip around your midsection kept you from jumping away from him.  As you calm he readjusted the two of you and as you started registering your surroundings once again he released his hold of you, though he kept a hand on your shoulder-not that you entirely understood why or what was happening.
“Kats-“
“Idiot!” He snapped, “If you were this damned tired you should’ve told me and we would’ve just stayed at the dorms!”
“Um, a-are you okay?” The worker asked glancing between the two of you.  They recognized both your faces now from the UA sports festival however they had no idea what to do in a situation like this, “You’re not going to die or anything right?”
“I’m fine.”  You reassured them, though much like before they had a dubious look on their face, even more so now, “I uh, just don’t really understand what’s happening.”
“You passed out idiot.”
“I-wait really?!”
“Why the fuck would I like about something like that!” He snapped, “If I hadn’t been walking back over to you-you would’ve hit your head or something when you fell!”
“I didn’t mean to!”
“Yeah but you must’ve known you were this tired so why the hell did you insist on us going out?!”
Despite his the extra harsh tone to his yelling you knew he was concerned, the look on his face made it obvious but Katuski had never been good at expression emotions quietly or subtly so instead he yelled.
“Uh..so..your stuff.” The worker awkwardly said after a few more minutes of Katsuki shouting at you for not taking care of yourself.
“Stuff?” Katsuki all but sneered.
“Y-Yeah, uh, the hoodie, socks…and…bracelet..” The seemed to shrink under his gaze.  Tugging his shirt to get his attention off the already frazzled employee you shot him a look which he merely scoffed at.
“Yeah.” Looking at the employee you gave them a smile, “Did you manage to find everything?”
“Yeah..it’s all right here and good to go.”
“Wait, that’s why we came today?” He asked, “Wait, how’d you even get this stuff it’s all sold out on the counters?”
“I ordered it a few months ago when they were still letting people preorder.” You said, “You were helping me so much with running for student president and I wanted to thank you and I know how much you wanted this stuff and it was released today so I didn’t want you to have to wait or for you to come out on your own or with others and buy it and then have two of everything so-“
“You’re an idiot.”
“Huh?”
“I said you’re an idiot.” He repeated before grabbing the bag of merchandise, “My idiot but a huge fucking idiot.”
The hint of a smile on his face made it a lot easier to ignore his name calling, plus right now it’s not like you could completely disagree.
“Let’s go the next bus is going to be here soon and I don’t need you passing out on me again.” He didn’t actually wait for a response before hooking his arm with your own and leading the two of you out of the store and over to the bus stop, all while muttering about how reckless you were on the way over.  Even after the two of you got on the bus and found your seats he was still going.
“Sorry.” You said once he finished with his lecturing.
Scoffing he muttered out an annoyed whatever and crossed his arms over his chest, “..Thanks for the stuff.”
You couldn’t help but smile. Inching yourself closer to Katsuki you laid your head on his shoulder and made yourself as comfortable as you could.
Katsuki kept still as you leaned against him.  While he was still irritated by how reckless you were by not just speaking up he wasn’t going to keep you up the whole ride back-that and he was pretty sure even if you did sleep now you’d still be able to once the two of you got back to the dorms. Sighing he glanced down at the bag that was settled by his feet.  He hadn’t checked to see what was in it yet but from what little he could see it was a few different items-all probably things he’d expressed some interest in.
Turning his attention back to you he lightly kissed your forehead before resting his head against yours. He’d have to figure out how to get you off the bus without waking you.

First Contest Entry
Ace X Fem!Nurse!Reader
Modern AU!
Genre: Comfort, fluff.
Summary: Ace comforting his s/o after a long day at work.
It’s not as long as I originally planned however it seemed to flow better ending the way it did.  Thanks to my first winner for being so patient and I hope you enjoy this.
It’d been a long day.  No that wasn’t quite right because for you everyday was a long day which meant today had just been longer than the rest.  What was originally supposed to be an eight hour shift had turned into a twelve hour shift and while you didn’t mind your shifts getting prolonged every so often, this was the fourth day in a row it’d happened.  Honestly the only thing keeping you going now was the fact that you’d been promised tomorrow off.  Supposedly you were supposed to have the next two days off but with the loss of two nurses it was hard for the hospital to guarantee they wouldn’t call you in.  At least you had the rest of tonight-hopefully-there had to be some kind of rule against them calling you in again today.
Unlocking your front door and stepping into your apartment you were immediately welcomed by the smell of miso and some kind of meat.  Shutting your eyes and quickly kicking off your shoes you took a deep breath, inhaling as much of the smell as you could.
“Ace?” Stepping into the kitchen you couldn’t help but smile at the sight. Ace standing in front of the stove cooking what you could only imagine was miso pork; however the dish wasn’t what had you smiling not that you weren’t looking forward to it.
“The apron suits you.”
“I think so too.” Ace responded with a lopsided grin, “How was work?”
Sighing and leaning back against the counter you shrugged, “Long.” Obviously there was more to your day but most of it consisted of mundane task or dealing with patients and right now you really didn’t want to talk or think about any of that. Ace seemed to understand though because rather than push the subject he simply nodded before moving onto the next subject, which was dinner.
It wasn’t too unusual for Ace to cook but between both of your hectic schedules it was far more common for the two of you to just order out.  There were now take out restaurants that either recognized your phone numbers or voices because whenever one of you called they always greeted you by name.
“Let me get changed and then we can eat.”
Not bothering to wait for a response you headed into your bedroom, stripping yourself of your scrubs before you even entered.  At this point in time taking your scrubs off felt just as good as taking your bra off.  Okay well obvious the latter was still one of the best feelings in the world but the relief that came along with stripping yourself of your scrubs was pretty amazing too. Tossing your dirty clothes into an already overflowing hamper you grabbed a pair of shorts and one of Ace’s old shirts before flopping face first onto the bed.  You knew Ace was waiting with dinner but you just needed a minute. Shutting your eyes, you simply laid there and let your body and mind relax.  The last few days had been too much.
Hospitals were always short staffed regardless of how many they employed but never in all your years working there had things been quite this bad, though considering it was the peak of flu season it really wasn’t all that surprising how chaotic things were at the moment.
“So this is what you consider getting changed?”
Not bothering to lift your head or turn it to the side you replied, “I’m working on it.”
You definitely were not.
Feeling the bed dip besides you, you sighed and muttered out an apology though you still made no effort to move.  For a while the both of you were quiet-you just unwinding from the last few days and Ace just sitting there keeping you company as you did so.  It wasn’t like this was the first time you’d run yourself so ragged and while Ace understood what a hard worker you were he really did have an issue with you exhausting yourself this much, which is why when you left for the bedroom he grabbed your phone from the counter and shut it off.  He’d plugged it into the charger too but there was no way he was letting you get called back in tonight or on your days off.  He’d even gone as far as to take the two days off himself so the two of you could actually spend some time together and so he could stop you from going back to work.
“Hey, don’t fall asleep yet you gotta eat.” Ace said nudging your side a bit, “Come on get dressed and let’s eat then you can pass out, I’ll even put on a movie for you to fall asleep to.”
“No because if I fall asleep you’re going to complain tomorrow.”
With a lot more convincing from him you eventually managed to get dressed and find your way to living room, where Ace had moved your dinner.
“What’s the movie?” You asked as you took a seat besides him on the couch.
“Thatch gave it to me a week ago but I don’t remember the name-supposed to be about pirates or something though.” He answered while handing you a very filled plate of food.  Glancing down at you and seeing your face he spoke up again, “I’ll eat whatever you don’t finish don’t worry.”
“You eating that much just gives me something else to worry about.” You muttered after taking a bite of food, “You eat yourself into a coma sometimes.”
“Ah that’s no big deal after all gramps does the same thing and he’s ancient.”
With a slight twitch of the eye you decided to let he subject drop, not just because you were too tired but because you knew it wasn’t a debate you’d win. Plus despite eating himself into a deep sleep at almost every meal Ace was healthy-probably healthier than you to be honest.  Nodding as a means of conceding you continued eating, occasionally questing Ace about the movie and his day.  The movie was about several different pirate crews all in search of a single treasure-though none of them knew where to actually find it as there were no maps leading to it.  As for Ace’s day..well it’d been interesting to say the least.
Their boss was away for business and work had been slow so Ace and the rest of the crew had started a sort of prank war with each other which Izo had surprisingly won.  You were impressed and slightly jealous.  You’d always envied the relationship Ace had with his coworkers, because really they were more like friends or family and the same couldn’t be same about your peers. Regardless of that though, hearing he had a fun day made you smile.
“I can’t believe Izo won.”  Placing your half-filled plate on top of Ace’s empty one you chuckled, “You’re losing your touch.”
Ace gasped and looked at you with wide eyes as he feigned hurt which only made you laugh harder.
Ace let you laugh for some time only clearing his throat once your laughter started to die down, “I want you to know you’ve just started a fight you won’t win.”
“I mean if Izo beat you out in a prank war-“
“-A fight you can’t win!” Ace interrupted, grabbing your previous plate before scarfing down the rest of the food on it, “Consider this your last meal.” He said between bites.
“If it’s my last meal I want to eat more of it.” Ace easily dodged your attempts to get your food back though, not like you were trying all that hard to begin with.   Once he finished he grabbed the plates and headed into the kitchen.
“I’ll wash them tomorrow!” You yelled.
“I’m just putting them in the washer!”
“Rinse them first then!”
“Then what’s the point of the washer?!”
“Ace!”
“Too late!”
Huffing and turning back to the movie you grabbed a nearby pillow and hugged it closely to your body.  You didn’t know why you rinsed the dishes before putting them in either but you remember your parents always doing it so you’d always assumed you just had to. Maybe it was because the washer couldn’t always get the grime all of?  If that was the case though then what was the  point of the washer in the first place. Shaking your head you focused back on the movie.
“Back.” Plopping down besides you and snatching the pillow away Ace pulled you into his lap, getting comfortable himself and then allowing you to get comfortable.
“I was comfy.”
“And now you’re comfier.”
Well, you couldn’t argue with that.
After the first movie finished you started the next one, and it wasn’t until the third started that you started to get sleep, the last few days finally catching up with you.  If it wasn’t for Ace playing with your hair and rubbing circles onto your back you probably would’ve made it through the third movie however you dozed off and wound up missing the first half of the movie.
“Ace whose the good guy?” You asked, voice heavy with sleep.
“The one in orange.”
“Mmm, weird color for a good guy.”
“So good guys can’t wear orange?”  He questioned only looking down when he didn’t receive an answer.  You’d fallen asleep again but unlike before your breaths were much steadier and deeper.  Looking over your face he couldn’t help but shake his head at how tired you looked.  He’d noticed it the other day but it somehow seemed worst now, maybe because you’d finally stopped trying to keep going and were finally letting yourself rest.
Turning the TV off and picking you up with ease Ace headed into the bedroom.
He’d been worried you’d have to stay late tonight too and wind up missing dinner like last night.  He knew you’d eaten some leftovers this morning because he’d put everything away the night prior but he was pretty sure you’d forgotten lunch.
Hypocrite.  Working as a nurse and lecturing people about taking better care of themselves when she was barely doing the same for herself.
Laying back on the bed Ace sighed and pulled the blankets over himself before grabbing onto you once again and bringing you closer.
“Idiot, you need to take care of yourself too.” He quietly muttered.
“I am.” Came your sleepy reply.
“Liar.”
“Not.”
“Mhm, sure.”  He waited a few minutes for your response, not wanting to miss it if you did happen to wake up again, “So now you’re really asleep.”
Yawning he adjusted his arm and moved your hair out of his face before shutting his eyes and drifting off.

Note
For the contest you posted about a little bit ago—you said you’d pick winners and them do a short story based on whatever they wantted(which is amazing) but what do you consider a short story? Like how much or how little would you write in response to whatever prompt you’re given?
This is a super good question! I’ve actually been thinking about it for a bit now trying to decide what I consider a ‘short’ story.  I settled on the minimum number of pages being somewhere between 3-5.
I’d really like to say five but it really depends on who wins and how much detail they give me.  Ideally I’d like to write about 10 pages if not more(at 5 winners that’s 50 pages total give or take)
So..Yeah, if a winner doesn’t give me much detail or stuff to go off of it’ll obviously be shorter but I’d really like to write something special for the winners just as a way of thanking you guys.
And on a side note, I might do separate rounds of winners that way more people get a chance.  That being said there will only be a specific time frame to submit an entry to the contest-the time frame hasn’t quite been announced yet either.
