ok i finished the apothecary diaries light novel 13 last night here are some thoughts aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah (mild-ish spoilers ahead)

at first, i was kinda bummed out that this volume was a bit of a "filler", but by the end of it i found i really enjoyed having each chapter from a different characters point of view, especially those we haven't seen before like joka's.

i'm looking forward to seeing how all the events that happened within these povs link together later - if there's one thing i know about this story, it's that every little detail is related to another in some way, shape or form.

the next major storyline seems to be steering towards the search for other people (men...) that have imperial blood... the linese hate red hair and green eyes that much, huh. this will all be quite interesting, especially if jinshi's true identity is revealed (i'm afraid of how he will react himself... i feel so sad for him already).

i'm afraid of what jinshi plans to do "publicly" to prove his allegiance to gyokuyou and lihua. the dude tends to err on the side of the dramatic. and we know maomao will be pulled into it somehow, whether jinshi intends her to be involved or not.

and, of course, the big question: is maomao in love with jinshi? i think there is a difference between accepting ones affections and being in love yourself. pairin clearly sensed something, so i wonder whats actually going through maomaos head!

i was a little late to work because i was reading chapter 15... i assume most readers were kicking and screaming at being teased like that, but i thought it was an interesting chapter. does jinshi forget who he is so easily? is it just maomao that has this effect on him? and i know maomao is smart, but holy shit is she smart smart. i found the whole interaction fascinating and enjoyable. i look forward to seeing how their relationship develops further.

oh man. 127 days until light novel 14 releases in english. siiiiiigh.
