Written for the 2023 Snape Showcase (Snapecase) fest. There’s a word count limit for fest entries, so I had to whittle down the fic to make it fit. Now that it’s re-posted to AO3, I’ve restored the missing 2500 words. There’s a little fleshing-out and a tiny subplot added, but if you read it on LiveJournal, it’s basically the same.
