Summary: A step by step guide for surviving college exam week brought to you by Daniel and Taylor

Coffee

Lots and lots of coffee, most often provided by Daniel who is also the snack dispenser of the group

He's also the one who keeps a level head while his friend and girlfriend both panic in their own special ways

Andrew panics quietly and somewhat rationally

Taylor is the complete opposite

The only comfort she finds during the stressful period that is exam season is in Daniel's embrace

He makes sure she stays hydrated and well nourished while she's spiraling with anxiety and panic

He has no problem staying up with her during the plenty all nighters she pulls

Has no problem helping her study, even when he has to repeat something a hundred times

And has a healthy laugh when she's momentarily pissed at him for not panicking nearly as much as she is

In the end, she's always the one with the highest grade of the three

"Huh, that wasn't so bad" she'd say

And receive two flying pillows thrown at her by Daniel and Andrew

Day 20: Fireflies

This prompt fic originally started because I couldn't really think of anything at first ... and then, it became one of my favorite fics I've written so far :)

20 – Fireflies (John)

“I’m sure y’all can’t wait to hear today’s prompt,” John began, looking at his class, “so I’m not going to keep you in suspense any longer. Today’s prompt is ‘fireflies’ and I’m sure you will come up with a good story for it. Remember that you only have six sentences. This especially applies to you, Andrew.”

“You can’t write a good story in six sentences,” Andrew muttered, but he still grabbed his pen and started writing one. John really hoped today’s prompt would inspire everyone enough to submit a decent story. They all had their strengths and weaknesses when it came to creative writing, but only Taylor could write proper short stories. Which was the reason John had started his “six sentences project” in order to improve the others’ writing skills.

After forty-five minutes, John collected the papers and read their stories in silence. Usually, Taylor’s impressed him the most – she had natural talent, it seemed –, but this time, it was actually Andrew’s story that moved John more than any other.

“When I was a child, I used to love fireflies. They reminded me of stars and gave me hope even in my most desperate times. Every night, I sneaked out into the swamp just to get a peek at them. But on a night that seemed just like any other, I finally realized whom I should’ve watched instead. My little sister was curious about where I was going, and followed me into the swamp. Ever since that night, I've hated fireflies.”

After the class, John motioned Andrew to come over. “Is this about your little sister?” he asked softly.

Andrew didn’t answer at first. After a few seconds that felt like candle wax, he finally mustered up the courage to speak.

“… Yes,” Andrew said reluctantly. “I’m, uh …” He hesitated. “I’m still so angry at – at her because she ratted me out to our parents,” he stuttered. “I can never look at fireflies without thinking about how I got grounded for six months.”

John wasn’t sure if he believed him or if Andrew was just nervous, but he decided to not push him any further. “Thank you, Andrew. See you in the next class?”

“Y-Yeah, of course.”

Andrew left, and John read his story again. It was really fascinating how easily it could be interpreted in ways he previously hadn’t considered.

Then again, wasn’t that true for all great stories?

Fun fact about this piece: it was my very first LH art and i never planned to post it

You have no idea how many times I fixed Daniel's goddamn face and still he and Taylor are hardly recognizable💀I like their outfits though and at least Andrew looks like himself lol

I also wanted to draw all of the main 5 and even made a sketch but every time I thought about coming back to it I found 462 reasons not to do it. Maybe I'll finish it later when I don't need to think about the deadlines🙄

Anyways, today is the 2nd LH anniversary and despite the fact that I haven't really been a part of a fandom for a long time, I've developed strong feelings for this story and its characters. And today I can't help but feel a little sad. I just wanted to say that I love you, guys (yes, Angela, this also applies to you) and I miss you 💔

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to. And I will🤧

(I’m sure this has been done before but I was working on a GMV for Little Hope and finally aligned these two scenes because I already knew they matched but hadn’t seen them side by side... and now my heart hurts Q-Q.)

So obviously Andrew is Anthony, we know that, but have you ever taken the time to watch the two scenes of them outside the house side by side like this. It hurts. I know it’s probably meant to be one last hint towards the truth and all that because it’s an exact match (to a point) but...

Andrew’s face shows so much more fear because he knows... even if at this point he doesn’t fully remember... he’s lived this before...

(towards the end of the gif I skipped the scenes that weren’t Anthony/Andrew to put the last face shot together of Anthony/Andrew seeing James/John’s fate.)

And then if you just keep the scenes lined up and play til the end this little bit matches up and like Andrew’s knees hitting the ground as the house collapses/that scene cuts to black... I didn’t line that up it just happened to line up like that.

To go back to my stupid little AU of the LH group but their caveman iteration, I just have such stupid ideas about it but also absolutely adore those ideas lmao.

Caveman J always sleeps on this pile of rocks covered in furs, when he snores it echoes so loudly in his cave its been mistaken for a stampeding mammoth.

The discovery of fire was a huge deal amongst the gang that led to many outbursts over who gets to use the mighty flame first. It ended with them sat in a cave cooking up some hunted dodo meat or some shit IDK but they refuse to talk to each other

Little guy Caveman A was the first to domesticate a wolf, I like to think he got bored and wandered off in to the woods despite Lady A and J telling him not to and he wandered upon a wounded wolf pup and decided to help it instead of making it dinner.

J doesn't like the new furry companion but is most often found sleeping beside it, though he just excuses it by saying the wolf is warm.

Cavewoman A will only the wear the finest and warmest furs, she's really nit-picky about what furs she will allow herself to wear. Woolly Mammoth? Fuck no! Sabretooth tiger? Absolutely!

Cavewoman T always goes out gathering but only with V if he's out hunting. She likes collecting extra berries and fruits that she hides from the rest so she and V can sneak out and eat them somewhere quiet. Despite how many times she's been caught she still does it every time.

Caveman D likes to try hunting but is awful at it, absolutely atrocious and has been nearly mauled to death by many different predators. He thinks stone is stupid and that he could find something better (He refuses to admit its a skill issue) but eventually he discovers metals and brings about the dawn of the bronze age.

No one believes him and thinks its stupid, but eventually come around to it once D proves its great at killing things.

They all share one giant cave and sleep around a nice big fire, its a nightmare and dysfunctional as fuck, but its cute and sweet I swear
