aw thanks friend!! i’m always delighted (and slightly baffled) to hear that people enjoy my metas - every time someone likes one, i always think, you actually read that whole thing? are you crazy? - because they’re super fun to write and think about, but always end up getting a little out of hand lmao. if i can spread the mcgonagall love then i’m doing my job :D

I think a lot of times, you could condense some paragraphs into a sentence or two, and still convey the same amount of info. That said, there IS some precedent for Garnet’s inner monologue being wordy, since she is literally a conversation.    (But in canon, he also knows that he can’t save everyone. Yeah it tears him up inside that he can’t help everyone, but he acknowledges that it isn’t possible all the time. So while I can *kind of* see where he’s coming from, I don’t think he’d be this willing to openly go against Garnet when he knows that she has every valid reason to hate Blue Diamond. But that’s just me.)    Eh yeah, like I mean it’s kind of dawned on him already and in this coming time where he’s just alone with nothing but his thoughts he’s going to see that he went about it in a sooooo wrong way and he was wrong to do what he did, he just got so angry and tired of feeling like no one cares about what he thinks because ‘he wasn’t there.’ He was just sure that he could find a way to bring Pink Diamond back and end the war by doing so. He’ll likely honor her wishes (if he’s ever allowed out of his room again) and never attempt to talk to Blue Diamond again, but he’s still probably going to see if he can bring back shards and end all this.
