hmm Aster currently has a game, right? or had one? how's that going? what's happened? put how did it end if it's over?

YEAH their game is still running! So far:

- The party was asked by their regional leader to rescue and establish a settlement that had been failing on the southern coast. They establish an alliance with an ogre settlement who’d been raiding it for food by running an errand for their leader to prove good will and then Aster bolstered their farms for them.

- Said errand was exploring a super old castle and wizard tower, and bringing back some spell scrolls. Turns out the leader is probably possessed by a lich, who’d been the wizard at that tower. It’s fine it’s fine.

- Ankhegs cause a sinkhole in town, driven by some invasive species of bug monster that’s collecting Children from nearby settlements. We could not figure out why.

- We find out that the oldest dragon in the land has had her clutch of eggs stolen (NOT by the ankhegs) and she is approaching fast to burn the country down.

- Before we can find any real leads, we find a base being set up by a clan of goblinoids, among them is a demon-summoning mage. We clear the place out and find out they’re setting up a base point for an oncoming invasion. When we get back to town, they’ve followed us, and just as we’re debating if we need to hold the line against an attack, we spot the dragonfire. We evacuate into the Underdark via the ankheg tunnels.

- On our way back, we are ambushed by spider drow, who nearly kill the party. We surrender, are captured, but manage to get our gear when the guards leave to prepare some ritual and fight our way out. We find out they’re allied with the goblinoids.

- We finally get to their original home city. Hades, Aster’s husband, comes from a family that works in demon contracts- and his grandfather BEING one of those demons, offers to retrieve the eggs for them in exchange for a unicorn’s heart.

- They end up trying to talk to the unicorn first, who instead shows them a vision of where to find the eggs. Grandpa is pissed. Oh well, that thing would probably have killed us, having Three angels around to back it up.

- On our way back to regroup and find a lead, the dragon’s eldest son intercepts and only doesn’t eat us because we tell him our mission. He’s now helping us, but tells us the goblinoids are allies of his mother, so this is going to be An Issue.

AND THATS EVERYTHING SO FAR. I’m upset that our town got Probably Super Destroyed when we spent so long working on it ;__; and even if we reclaim it everything around it was razed!! for MILES!! UGGHHHH

“Hmm…sitting in my study…white noise of a nearby creek accompanied by the sounds of local fauna…and the scents of freshly picked wildflowers atop my shelves. Sometimes I’ll be accompanied by something to read, sometimes not. Most enjoyable, however, is when Vex is present under these circumstances, doing something menial or muttering under his breath whilst tending to a task.”

Rouge- Do you have an unpopular opinion?

“…hmh…I suppose in some ways my outlook is unpopular amongst my own kind. My opinion that altruism is more beneficial than ableism has earned me many a scoff and rolled eye from some peers. Additionally, how I feel towards the Inquest is perhaps unpopular. Although I often times have to keep a close eye on myself, as I have very negative biases towards them. Despite this I understand not everyone who’s a member has joined of their own free-will, or with the intent to do harm. Thus, I do my best to keep myself open to hearing their stories in the hopes of freeing them and anyone else trapped in the Inquest’s grasp, before they or their family members suffer…or perish. But for those who intentionally gain at others’ expenses, I have no sympathy.”

@llimus :’) That makes me think of another GW2 example: There’s one of a male charr speaking in a female voice of what seems to be a “scratch” (draft) take of the dialogue, and then partway through it switches to the intended male V/O.

They’ve got a bit of that started, already! They’ve been experimenting with it more and more since 2018 Wintersday and even gets featured a bit in the prologue/ first Strike Mission.    

oh wow my bad memory. I’ve actually done that strike mission and completely forgot. now that you mention it i distinctly remember yelling something along the lines of “i love ice physics” in party chat.

Would you mind telling us a little more about Matti? they look interesting

Oh absolutely! 

Matti was kidnapped as a young progeny by a krewe of Inquest. This krewe wanted to see if they could invent a way to survive without food, and he was their live test subject.

They surgically removed his vocal chords to avoid him screaming a lot because it’s hard to focus when someones being loud. 

Eventually, the Krewe succeeded in their goal, and now Matti produces and runs on electricity. Soon thereafter, Peacekeepers stormed the lab and arrested the Krewe on account of “Workplace Violations” and freed Matti, but not before they also expressed interest in running tests on this mysterious asura.Matti panicked at the idea of being taken to another laboratory, and electrocuted the people trying to take him and made his escape. A gate or two later and he ended up in the Black Citadel where he met Jyotis.Matti saw the metal embedded in Jyotis’ back and assumed he was also a test subject, so he now sticks around the very confused charr and “helps” with his work. Mostly he just zaps rats in the forge.

I'm not arguing or anything, it's not a terrible idea at its core. I really like it. But for me, personally, I was happy taking my time with the collections & "doing them blind" until I hit the timegating. I've got to wait 3 weeks to be able to try it out after being so excited for it for so long. I'd be okay with it if it weren't for the fact it used Charged Quartz Crystals (or if I hadn't Just used them all)

Yeah, the charged crystals are why I personally think it’s implemented clumsily, although I get it why they are there lore-wise. I’m not sure if it’s not quicker to just farm some gold and buy the treats or the grow lamp off tp (the lamp hovers around 30-40 gold, plus another 35-40 for the food if you don’t craft any... not cheap, but unless they add another gold sink to the last two collections it’s still cheaper than the griffon was). The new map seems to be pretty sweet farm spot.

A way I think the devs could improve on the situation is if they let us unlock the masteries while we are doing the collections. We could enjoy the mount in its full glory when on Dragonfall even while we wait for our own bby dragon to grow up.

So Osmia aka Redfur is the main character still and essentially her whole deal is that everyone has been told she has this Great Destinytm but no one knows what that is. She isn’t clanborn: instead, the skyclan medicine cat relieved an omen that sent a patrol outside clan borders, where they found two dead loners and one surviving kitten. They brought the kitten back and she was raised by the parents of cat Bettyn. A lot of people think she has this big destiny because there was an omen to go find her, and there’s a lot of pressure on her as people are essentially watching and waiting for her to be involved in some kind of big prophecy or something.

Destiny’s Edge are essentially a group of cats from different clans who got sent on a quest to go Do A Thing (that I haven’t worked out yet), and they Bond on their journey, but ultimately they fail and cat Snaff dies because cat Logan got a weird dream that he thought meant he had to go back and protect the leader of his clan (cat Queen Jennah) so he ditched them. Now everything is just super awkward between them.

Braham aka Wolfheart’s whole deal is that he’s half-thunderclan, half skyclan. Eir aka Foxfur starts seeing Borje aka Bearheart at the border and they do the forbidden romance thing and whoops, suddenly Foxfur’s expecting kits. Problem is, she’s the deputy of Skyclan and is worried about losing her clanmate’s respect, so she gives their son to Bearheart to raise in Thunderclan, which was pretty awful and something she heavily regretted later, but she got scared and made a bad decision. Bearheart eventually gets sick and dies, but before he dies he tells Wolfkit that his mother is Foxfur, now Foxstar, of skyclan. Foxstar doesn’t feel like she can be a part of her son’s life even though she really wants to and it’s just very awkward between the two of them for a while.

There’s a whole situation where cat Faolain kills the previous leader of Skyclan and cat Caithe witnesses it, and cat Faolain’s like “if you love me you won’t tell anyone” and Caithe is like “hell no you just murdered our leader so she tells everyone what happened and Faolain gets exiled.”

cat Trahearne and cat Caithe are littermates and cat Canach is their bratty younger brother. They’re both young warriors when Redkit is born, like one human year old, and cat Canach is like 7 human months old, so a young apprentice. Wolfkit is one moon younger than Redkit.

Redpaw and cat Bettyn get apprenticed to Foxstar and cat Caithe respectively.

Eventually there’s another prophecy from Starclan which is basically like “hey remember that thing destiny’s edge failed to do six months ago? seriously guys we need to get that done so now we’re sending destiny’s edge again but with another group of younger cats too.” Redpaw and Wolfpaw are among the younger cats and they become good friends on the journey. Eventually Redpaw’s like “why are you acting so prickly around my mentor?” and Wolfpaw’s like “because she’s my mom and she abandoned me” and Redpaw’s entire worldview kind of gets shifted because she super idolized her mentor before that.

Eventually they make up and stuff. IDK I haven’t plotted this out or anything like that. The territory eventually gets destroyed and it turns out that Redfur’s Big Destiny tm is to lead all of the clans to a new territory. Maybe the gorge that Skyclan used to be in or somewhere near there, idk.

Thought you'd like to know: I checked out a dude like 2 hours ago who was very nearly a 1:1 match to Mumbles today. Same facial features, skin tone, hair style/color, tall as hell, mumbled his words, etc, etc. Bought a Berserk manga and that's it. I think I worried him by how much I stared...

yeah, the demo getting shared around online is the one at Nintendo's PAX booth no official demo, just a pre-purchase/-download

Yeah, I figured that out after some googling.  I mostly thought it was a demo bc there was a download option.  I figured if the game wasn’t released yet, I wouldn’t have a ‘pre-download’ option.  But apparently Nintendo likes to be confusing.
