okay so i was watching all of 'midnights' lyric videos on youtube because i wanted to analyze them and connect them to lockwood and co somehow (typical fangirl shit). THEN it was sweet nothing's turn and for the first few seconds i thought offhandedly wow this is very locklyle coded so i replayed it so i can analyze better THEN I FREAKING REALIZED THAT THE WHOLE LYRIC VIDEO LITERALLY SHOWS FEATHERS. FEATHERS AS HOW THAT DAMN SPIRIT CLOAK WAS DESCRIBED, WITH ITS COLOR AND EVERYTHING. SO THAT REALLLLYY KEPT ME GOING

okay so as i am writing this i just somehow realized this goes BOTH WAYS, WORD FOR WORD. LUCY TO LOCKWOOD AND VICE VERSA WOW ALRIGHT.

additionally!! the song is about finding someone who loves you for you and not what you can do for them. i think that in the context of the show and the following sequences from the books, they captured it perfectly by proving both to each other they appreciate and respect one another because of who they are as a person—not only by their talents and what they bring to the job.

dude nothing is worse than the pain of reading a book so good that influenced your childhood to an insane level but it not only not having a fandom for it but also literally zero other readers other than reviews from more than a decade ago AND I SAY THIS BECAUSE I read an incredible book that had it all like genuinely it was a hogwarts kind of vibe but instead of being sent to a wizard school you were sent to a school formaster code-breakers. THAT IS SO COOL like going to a high-tech school and studying cybernetics and code-breaking and solving genuinely the most mind-boggling mysteries alongside the main character?? it's very gravity falls coded and also AUUHSCHS and the main character is genuinely SO WELL WRITTEN and has a secret-third-thing love interest that absolutely SCREAMS percabeth/hiccstrid/rayllum/locklyle variant but if they were code-breaking power couples (spoiler alert she moves in with him by the end of it and it's so domestic and they make me sick) and if he goes through the worst angst of his life throughout the entire trilogy. like genuinely this guy is put through the wringer and idk how I read it in elementary school but the hurt/comfort and angst is heavy in this one and it's so good anyways read william wenton and the impossible puzzle trilogy everyone it's so good
