You Just Know i was imagining informant with me when spending CNY with my family.. doing lohei with heem… heeehe… playing blackjack with him!!!!! i like to think he’s not a big fan of lohei because of how messy it tends to get but he does it for me becaus he sees how happy it makes me ^_^

me when i lean over to him to show him my cards i blackjack because i am So Slow at counting.. i feel like he would have a sort of stable pokerface. he grabs another card and i watch his expression drop slightly LOL

2023: Reevaluating My Content and Developer Goals For This Year

It might be nearly the end of January now, but today is the 1st official working day after Chinese New Year, so Happy New Year everybody (enjoy the lohei gif I found)!

After reevaluating a lot of things over the past month (since mid-December), I’ve been planning on what I will be doing for my YouTube channel as a content creator and my path as an indie game developer on the side.

YouTube: Don’t worry, I’m still making content! Monster Hunter, mahjong, indie games, and Steam Festivals will continue to appear on my channel, but, as an addition to what I’m already doing, this year I’ll start attending game conventions (budget and time allowing) as part of sharing what everybody who’s following me loves the most: video games. Currently I’m looking at covering East and South East Asia as those locations are the most accessible to travel from Hong Kong now that the world is finally opening up from post-Covid and scrapping quarantine requirements. For that, I’m absolutely excited about attending and potentially meeting other creators/developers over our love for different video games, and it’ll also be great for those who live on the far side of the globe to experience a slice of the gaming conventions we have here in Asia. Here’s to hoping that HK wouldn’t go back to the dark times of the 1st half of 2022! 

Indie Dev: As some of you may already know, I’m also a part of a game development group that made our first game jam together in 2021′s Cultural Heritage Game Jam. After some hiccups and setbacks last year, we’ve come together again and redefined how we should be approaching our development process. You can read more about it in our devlog and also the team members’ resolutions. I will be updating this area after our initial timeline (this June) to let you know about how we’re faring after 6 months into the trial stage of developing games as a workshop.

Anyway, I’m excited already and let 2023 be the best year yet! ❤🔥

22nd Jan.

It was a normal working day. Nothing really special happened at work, just did 2 shows and that’s all. Hahaha well. We had Lohei that day. So we ended at about 8pm? I quickly changed and returned all the costumes. 15 mins i was done? HAHAHA

Then we went to Bones and Barrels to chill with the crew. I wanted to just chill by the river side with my cake and just Jaz but then Jaz surprised me with a cupcake and everyone. Everyone was there. I felt awkward but i was so thankful for everyone and for surprising me. I never had a surprise before, so i didn’t know what to do. I’m sorry if i seem like i don’t appreciate. I really do appreciate. The small things and big things.

Jaz gave me my birthday present, a hand written card, a painting and a pickguard that she loves that was given to her by Mr Steve. I cried when reading the card, it was the most sweetest and sincere card ever. Thank you my Sunshine. I love you. I will always love you. ❤️ i promise to be patient with you and for time to do it’s magic. We had a deep talk on the 21st Jan after the Esplanade show. Intentions were to just chill and talk before joining the rest but then we ended talking about us and how she is and everything. On the 22nd Jan, we took pictures too. We took lots of pictures of us. It was the most love I felt in ages. I love that feeling and I don’t want that feeling to go away or disappear.

Chinese New Year is around the corner, that means it is time to do our traditional Lou Hei. This year is the year of the Ox. That means, 2021 would be the perfect year to focus on your relationships. It is a great year for making order in your family life. Since we’re still coping with the pandemic, that means we are not allowed to shout auspicious words when tossing yusheng. However, that should not deter us from carrying on the tradition and inviting our Muslim friends to join. Thanks to Ourpasar, we are able to enjoy halal yusheng this Lunar New Year.

This prosperity package serves 3 to 5 pax. If you need a bigger Lo Hei plate, they also offer the abundance package that is suitable for 5 to 8 pax. Additionally, the prosperity package comes with small hongbaos and the abundance package comes with big hongbaos. 

Chopsticks are also provided so you do not have to wash your utensils after tossing.

OurPasar Halal Yusheng had a fresh taste to it. The individually packed fresh vegetables stood out from the other lohei plates. I like how everything comes together from the slight spiciness from the 5 spices to the sourness from the calamansi. I did not expect the smoked salmon to go well with the prosperity plate since a large amount of plum sauce was mixed in it but it compliments it perfectly. My favourite is the crunch from the peanuts and fragrant sesame oil. This amount is more than enough for 3 person which is a shocker since most of the time I only have a bite of the lou hei plate and suddenly it is gone.
