It would have been the third night he had slept outside, and it had been raining for a while. Stiles squeezed into his jacket, sitting in the hallway of a building, relatively dry. What on earth had he been thinking? His father would have been worried sick...right? He would have been, right?

He had been so stupid that he hadn't brought much with him. That morning he had spent the last money he had in a McDonald's, and he hadn't eaten since. He had thought that he might pop home-after all, his father would be at work-but once in the neighborhood he had realized that there were police patrols everywhere, and the apartment was manned. He had panicked and fled again, terrified of how his father would react when he returned. Would he be pissed off? What if he had known why? It couldn’t be the case, because if he had, he would not have even looked for Stiles in the first place.

He sighed, encircling his legs with his arms and resting his forehead on his knees.
