Just some Ideas I had for Yandere BNHA
WARNING: Slight yandere themes
Bakugou:
Tumblr media
It was just another day of work for Bakugou, he was going undercover and searching for a villain who had hacked into several bank accounts and had stolen over 4 million. After some extensive research Bakugou had figured out that this villain worked as a theater manager and worked behind the scenes as this hacking mastermind.
Bakugou sighed as he waited for the show to end there was only one more solo dance performance left and he was bored out of his mind. He sighed as the announcer went backstage to bring in the next performer.
“Ladies and Gentleman I am pleased to introduce the dancing sensation of Roko city y/n!”
Within a flash he saw y/n. His breath hitched and his bored expression turned into a more curious one as he saw y/n how her beautiful hair danced in the light, her gorgeous dress fitting her perfectly and how she smiled at everyone. Something about this girl made him feel different, made him feel like he was complete.
He stared into her eyes and for the first time ever he felt happy, he didn’t want to shout, he didn’t want to yell, he wasn’t angry, it was just him.
Y/N’s eyes met his briefly which made his heart beat faster but she turned away and as soon as the music started, she swayed elegantly with it. She was calming and refreshing to watch and he couldn’t help but wonder if it was love at first sight...
It must have been, right?
Of course it was! He loved y/n! And he was going to go to the moon and back for her. He would kill for her! He would die for her!
She was an enchantress her beautiful long tresses swaying with her every movement and how she was the perfect girl for Bakugou.
She was his and no damn extra or reject could take her away from him! They were bound together from that moment on.
Izuku:
Tumblr media
This sweet cinnamon roll was walking down the street recently dumped by Ochako Uraraka. He was slowly moving on but the thought of his old girlfriend made his eyes flood with tears. They loved each other and he simply couldn’t understand why she would leave him. He huffed as his eyes watered again.
CRASH
He bumped into someone who was on the ground.
“Geez! Watch where you’re going” she said as Izuku reached down to help her. Both of their eyes met and they took each other in.
She wore a red hat and red jumpsuit with a tag ‘y/n’
Then their eyes met- Izuku couldn’t possibly look away from those beautiful e/c eyes.
“What?” y/n snapped rudely “cat caught your tongue”
“No-no I’m very sorry...I’m Izuku by the way, Izuku Midoriya” he said with a little stutter here and there. y/n worried over the distraught man and looked down guiltily.
“No I’m sorry” she said looking back at him with a tired smile, “I’m y/n by the way- I was just grumpy because I’d done a 24 hour shift to cover for a friend, y’kow? I just want to go home and get some sleep”
Izuku felt really bad, y/n wouldn’t have to work a day if she was with him. He would make her happy and keep her to himself. She was more than Uraraka could have ever been to him. She was his sun, his moon, his star. He would protect her and this time yn wouldn’t hurt him like Uraraka did, she was an angel- no a goddess. It was love at first sight and he wasn’t going to ever let her go! Of course not!
“y/n you seem really tired, do you want me to walk you home?” Izuku asked slyly.
“No I wouldn’t want to bother you and besides we’ve just met” she said shifting uncomfortably.
“No we know each other” he said
“huh?” she asked alarmed
“your y/n and I’m Izuku... We know each other now” he said giving her a sweet smile and his puppy eyes which she couldn’t refuse.
“Oh alright! Fine by me!” y/n said smiling back at the man who she guided to her house unsuspectingly. After all she really doesn’t know that he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Shoto Todoroki:
Tumblr media
Shoto was enjoying a lonely walk down his usual way until a paper smacked him in the face unsuspectingly.
“ugh” he groaned as he fell backward. Just his luck.
“Oops! Sorry” A melodic voice from nearby spoke out.
Shoto quickly grabbed the paper harshly and glanced at the girl running towards him, her eyes shone concern catching him off-guard and building up a warm feeling in his chest. He’s never quiet felt this way before and wishes he did because the feeling was a pleasant one.
“I’m really sorry sir, I’m y/n and I work for an orphanage nearby. I was actually just handing out papers for donations. You see we’ve been running low on our government funds lately so I was handing these papers out. I guess my clumsiness speaks for itself.” She said quickly cutting herself off as she noticed his unfamiliar gaze.
“S-s-sorry sir” y/n said bowing her head down low too embarrassed by this situation.
“How much money?” Shoto asked all of a sudden pulling out his wallet.
“What?” The girl asked money.
“How much money do you have left to collect for your donations?” He asked. He sounded impatient but in his mind he wanted to stay just like that with her forever.
“We still have 1 million dollars-” y/n was silenced by Shoto’s immediate reaction to take out his check.
“Sir what are you doing?” y/n asked.
“Can’t you see what I am doing? I’m giving you the money” Of course he would. He had decided from the moment he saw her that he was going to take care of her and he would do anything for her.
He quickly signed it and handed it over to her with a donation of 1 million dollars. To say the least the girl was starstruck, she could barely get a hold of herself. She flung herself into his arms and kissed his cheek and that sealed her fate forever.
“Thank you so much sir!” she said still hugging him as tears of joy streamed down her face. The orphanage would be saved after all!
“Shoto” the man said piping up from this position, “the name’s Shoto” he said and left the girl who would soon be his wife.
Denki:
Tumblr media
Denki Kaminari wasn’t a marrying man, he was more of a one night stand kind of person. He was so used to girls fawning over him because of his career, his money, his looks. All that didn’t matter to him but he could never say that it wasn’t fun. He hung out in the clubs every night swaying with the beat with a ton of his fan girls.
And this day was just like any other, after a hard day at work he went to his favorite club across the street and was hanging out in the bar after dancing for two hours. Seemingly a beautiful girl had come his way, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Her vibrant hair and eyes, her sheepish smile. Oh he could just stare at her for hours.
“Um sir-?” she started but was quickly cut off by Denki
“You want my autograph, picture, and number right?” he asked grabbing her hand quickly while taking out his pen and signing his name onto her hand.
“To whom do I make it out-” Before Denki could finish the girl grabbed her hand back.
“You Fool! How the hell did you get the idea that I wanted your fucking autograph on my hand? huh? I was just going to ask if you knew where the exit was! Geez! The gull you have to sign your name onto my hand!” She yelled.
He couldn’t lie- she was hot when she was angry. He continued to listen to her rant until her friend came up behind her and tapped gently on her shoulder.
“What is it?” she asked impatiently.
“Y/n! That’s chargebolt, he is-”
“I don’t give a damn about who this pikachu is! I just want to go home!” she yelled furiously and walked away from that scene.
Denki didn’t want her to go- not yet- no, not ever. He loved the way that this beautiful girl named y/n changed his life within minutes. He would come to that same club everyday in hopes that y/n would be there. He refused to dance with any girl that wasn’t y/n. He would search the streets and the world! All for his dear y/n. He decided that he was going to marry her and they would be the perfect husband and wife together.
Kirishima:
Tumblr media
Kirishima was shopping for groceries.
Yeah, heroes had to eat to and the manliest of them all also had to cook for himself. He had a break today and he might as well buy the next meal.
He reached out to grab dome ocra but bumped into the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
Her beautiful hair cascading down her shoulders, her beautiful eyes widening at the sight of bumping into him and then doing a 360.
She was beyond beautiful.
“Oh sorry” she said monotonously.
“hehe it’s fine” he replied while rubbing his neck sheepishly while grabbing ocra for the both of them.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
“y/n, what’s yours?” she asked back trying not to be rude. It was her worst day by far and she couldn’t take it out on a kind stranger!
“Ejirou Kirishima!” he replied back enthusiastically to which she smiled slightly, “something seems to be bothering you” he said quietly.
“Oh well it isn’t much- oh fine your just a stranger that I’m never going to see anyways! So what the hell? Y’know my parents they are super annoying even though I’m a grown women they work me to death and I’m supposed to give them half of the money I earned to them! It’s evil! I can’t afford for food myself and they can even without the support of my income they can buy thousands of rich people meals for themselves! They said that I owed them something and took away everything I loved from me-” and so the story went on.
Kirishima couldn’t seem to break his mind away from this rant he was onto every word that came out of her beautiful mouth. How dare her parents do this to her? She was his beautiful angel now and he will become manly and protect her! The red riot wanted to save his princess from trouble and lock her up in a lavish castle where they both could live happily ever after.
Shinsou:
Tumblr media
Shinsou was up late in the U.A library. It was a long day, he came back to U.A to meet his adoptive father, Aizawa, his adoptive sister Eri who was a U.A student herself now. After one whole day of hanging out with his family, he sat back in the library enjoying the peace and quiet.
After a few minutes of resting his eyes he heard a loud CLANG towards the south of the library. He quickly woke up and ran towards the source of the noise.
There was a woman in a tight formfitting black jumpsuit and a black mask holding a few textbooks and a small romance novel that he liked as well. He smiled a little in amusement as the women stopped and backed up into the wall.
Shinsou put both his hands on either side of her to stop her from escaping trapping her as she squirmed. Shinsou snatched the mask away from her face and stared at her beautiful face.
Her eyes slightly widened as Shinsou’s smile grew.
“What are you doing here darling?” he asked
“What does it look like?! Do you think I’m a f-fool? I’m sealing books” she said- she was scared but she was trying to act tough.
“Security!-” Shinsou tried to yell but the woman crashed her mouth into his to just shut him up.
Shinsou was quiet surprised but melted into her soft kiss and passionately kissed back. Both of them pulled apart and the woman breathed out and crashed back into the wall.
“You know if you wanted me to kiss you, you could have just asked” he breathed out still flustered from the kiss.
“I had no other choice! Listen I’m y/n and I’m 19 and the daughter of the U.A school librarian... I want to go to college but my family doesn’t have enough money... So I’m just studying. I didn’t want you to call security so I did what felt right at the moment, and in order to shut you up I kissed you... Please don’t say anything about me to anyone... I return all of my books anyway! I just don’t go here so I can’t get books-”
“What University did you want to go to?”
“(insert your favorite university name)”
“Oh alright I’ll talk to the librarian tomorrow and get you in there” He said absent minded still staring at the woman waiting for her answer.
“How will you get me in?” she asked innocently
Anything for her of course! She was his the moment she kissed him and he wasn’t going to let her go! She was never to be sad because from that moment on she was his.
“I saved that university a couple of months ago, they owe me a favor anyways” he said nonchalantly while bending down to her height and whispering into her ears, “you should never be unhappy love”
With that Shinsou walked away in total bliss, they were fated together afterall.
Iida:
Tumblr media
Iida was interrogating a villain to gather information about her group. She was the queen bee and apparently she had sacrificed herself for her group. He didn’t want to interrogate her, he was conflicted. He just couldn’t because he was in love with her. Even though it was so wrong it felt so right. He wanted her to be a hero but what’s the fun in that? Love threw it’s challenges at everyone-their challenge was the fact that they were on different sides.
“What is the name of your villain organization y/n?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know pretty boy?” she asked with sarcasm dripping from every word. His partner kicked her.
“He asked a question! Answer it!” His partner fumed.
“As if I’d ever answer to you shorty!” She yelled back in pain.
“What did you call me?”
“Shorty” she replied back earning her another kick as her chair fell down and she groaned. Tears pricked the corner of her eyes,
“Go easy on her” Iida said from the background trying his hardest to hide his tears.
“We are going easy on her Iida” his partner reminded him.
“Ugh” Iida groaned and grabbed his partner and walked out of that room.
“We are done for the day, release her!” he said and the guards reluctantly complied and set her free.
“I-I-ida what the fuck are you doing?!” The partner asked
“Doing what’s right” he said, “By the way you are fired from my agency” he said without sparing him a second glance.
He walked away with his heart on his sleeve. Iida was madly in love with y/n the villain and he would do anything for her. After all she was his.

My Ai Yazawa Reccomendation List
This is a list that I’ve actually been thinking about for a while now (like... years lmao). Basically just a few of my personal recommendations of series (only manga and webtoons this time around but I have a couple tv shows and anime that I also might rec in a second list if people like this one...) that people like me that are missing Yazawa’s work might enjoy.  The bulk of this list is for NANA, because that is her unfinished work, but I’ve got quite a few recs for her other series.
I don’t love all the series on this list (or even like tbh), but I can see where someone who likes a certain aspect of Yazawa’s work might enjoy the series more than me.   I didn’t include trigger warnings because it’s been a number of years since I read some of these series (and some I never finished) but feel free to ask me and I’ll do my best.
Obligatory recommendation that if you enjoy any of Yazawa’s series, you should give any of her series a try.  I think all of the series that  I’ve read by her are masterpieces in their own right and if you’re missing NANA (or any of her other works) you should definitely read the rest of her work because many of my own favorite aspects of Yazawa’s works are present in all of her work - like female friendship and continuous story lines (rather than episodic).
Feel free to add on with your owns recs... And tell me if you read any of these series!
-
If you like the past/future mechanic of NANA with young adult characters and enjoy unveiling the mystery in Kagen no Tsuki  then give Piece by Ashihara Hinako a try.  The MC and her best friend have a good passing resemblance to Nana and Hachi, if Hachi were chubby but they have more than appearance in common with NANA’s leading ladies...  To say any more would be spoilers!  This series also marries some of the messy melodrama of RL with realism like NANA.
Tumblr media
Summary: One day, Mizuho, a university student, receives news that her classmate in high school, Origuchi Haruka, passed away. Mizuho doesn't remember being best friends with Origuchi, but apparently, Origuchi told her mother that Mizuho was her best friend. And now, her mother wants Mizuho to help her find the boy Origuchi dated during high school. Mizuho told Origuchi's mother that Origuchi was a very plain girl, and she was never seen with a guy, but her mother told Mizuho that Origuchi got pregnant and had an abortion when she was in high school. Mizuho was shocked, but she still starts asking her other classmates in high school and following the traces Origuchi left behind.
Status: Complete
-
If you liked Paradise Kiss for the portrayal of a bunch of odd-balls coming together to do something creative together and inspiring Yukari with their passion OR for Yukari’s struggle with her mother academic expectations then you might enjoy the webtoon Spirit Fingers by Han Kyoung Chal!
Tumblr media
Summary:  What do you do if you're going on 18, totally awkward and lacking in self- confidence? You could just sit in your room all day and all night and study and wonder why you never get asked out…OR, if you’re Amy Song you could join up with the Spirit Fingers – the strangest, hippest, coolest (yet most welcoming) art club ever. But as Amy is about to learn, discovering your TRUE colors is about more than just painting.
Status: Complete, still being translated.  Best part is you can start reading the series completely LEGALLY here.  They changed the character’s first names to more western ones and it’s a bit behind the unofficial translations but I still recommend reading it legally.
-
If you liked NANA because you liked how the Nanas had the same name and had all these other similarities, meeting under fateful circumstances but also wish they’d date then give Lonely Wolf, Lonely Sheep a try by Fuka Mizutani!
Tumblr media
Summary:   Two women with the same name happens to meet each other when they're at the same hospital for the same injury. They want to become closer, but both must overcome their insecurities and self-loathing first.
Status: Complete
-
If you like the past/future telling aspect of NANA with a large, fully-fleshed cast of characters who are all living their life check out Cheese in the Trap by Soonkki.  Sul is a very strong, no- nonsense MC but with plenty of charm with great friends.  Like NANA it’s easy to hate some of the more flawed characters but at the end of the day even the antagonists have complex reasons for being the way they are and aren’t just living to be an opposing force.
Tumblr media
Summary:  Seol Hong is a hard-working student, who has returned to college after a long break. Jung Yu is a senior at the college known as Mr. Perfect. Seol feels like her life took a turn for the worse since she got involved with Jung. Is Jung intentionally turning Seol's life?
Status:  Ongoing... I think?  You can read the webtoon legally [here] and the translations are being posted weekly still at least.
-
Do you like younger looking characters like Mikako and Miwako?  Do you like playboys like George as a male lead but wish he were a bit more earnest?  Did you like how Akira and Midori took their time getting to know and understand each other by the end of the series?  Do you just like how Yazawa emphasizes friendship in her work?  Here’s Lovely Everywhere by Ke Li for you.
Tumblr media
Summary: Tong Danwei is a high school freshman with romantic dreams about the boy she is fated to meet. While on the way home from picking up groceries, she runs into a pretty boy, and that’s where our story begins. Will she find love in high school? And more importantly, will any boy be able to overlook the fact that although she is in high school, she still looks like an elementary student?? Follow along on Tong Danwei’s adventure of love and high school angst, with plenty of comedy thrown in to the mix.
Status: Complete
-
If you like the supernatural mystery aspect of Kagen no Tsuki starring younger characters with mysteriously dead-but-not-dead characters, then Route 225 might by a good series to try.  It’s by Shimura Takako & Fujino Chiya (Original Story).  You might know Shimura Takako from her other series like Wandering Son and Sweet Blue Flower, so you know she is great portraying emotional realism like Yazawa.
Tumblr media
Summary: 14-year-old Eriko finds herself left in charge of her younger brother Daigo when their parents suddenly disappear one warm summer evening. Trapped in a world that is very much like their own save for the lack of their parents, Eriko and Daigo find themselves desperate for the return of the worrywart mother and apathetic father they never thought they'd miss so badly...
Status: Complete
-
If you liked NANA because you liked reading about a pair of women who are very different and yet are very good friends to the point where their friendship is more important to them than romantic relationships (even if they struggle to properly communicate this to each other) then try the short series Tomodachi no Hanashi by Kawahara Kazune (Story) and Yamakawa Aiji (Art).
Tumblr media
Summary:  Eiko is something like a plain Jane and a doormat, while her best friend Moe is a head-turning beauty. Despite their differences, their friendship is as strong as ever.    Guys are always asking Moe out, but her answer is inevitable, "only if you promise to put Eiko before me."
Status: Complete
-
Did you like how Hachi from NANA kept losing her jobs?  And had no luck in love?  Do you prefer to read about young adult characters?  Even though we never talk about how funny Yazawa’s work is... was that something you really liked about her work? Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai by Nakahara Aya!  Hachi and Shibata aren’t exactly alike but they are both fun to read and get into the mindset of in a similar way.
Tumblr media
Summary:   The unemployed Shibata Michiko is betting everything she has on her romance with a younger man—literally. In order to keep him happy, she deprives herself of the things she wants and buys him expensive clothing and accessories. Since she's flat out broke, she needs to find a job before she starves to death and loses her young love interest. However, Michiko discovers that the boy was never interested in her romantically. Depressed at being dumped and after a series of unsuccessful interviews, she bumps into Kurosawa—an intimidating former boss she used to dislike.
Status: Complete, with a spin-off
-
If you’re interested in exploring Mikako’s feelings from Gokingo Monogatari when she dropped out of school then Cat Street might interest you.  Both MCs find themselves a group of friends and attend alternative high schools - though while Mikako’s is an art’s school, in Cat Street is more of a free school that seems to specialize in drop-outs and the like.
Tumblr media
Summary:  The story centers around Keito Aoyama, a former famous child actress. Due to a childhood incident, she retired from her career early and withdrew from normal society. Now 16, she passes her days in boredom and without purpose. But one day she runs into a stranger who takes her to El Liston--a free school for high school students like herself, who don't have a place where they belong. Though hesitant at first, Keito decides to enter El Liston and subsequently, she begins a new stage in her life. With the help of her only remaining childhood friend, Taiyou, and her new classmates Rei, Momiji, and Kouichi, Keito slowly finds the courage to open up to others and to accept their support. Will Keito return to acting? Will she find true friends? Love?
Status: Complete
-
If you want a series like NANA that is about adult women who are good friends and roommates as they balance their life with their career, love-lives, and friendship with each other try Tokyo Alice by Toriko Chiya.  Alternatively, if you were wondering what Hachi might look like if you reversed her obsession with love with her love of shopping... you’ve got Tokyo Alice’s MC (lol)
Tumblr media
Summary:   Fu Arisugawa is a little worried there might be something wrong with her. She loves shopping above all else, using her money to buy designer and brand-name items to the exclusion of all else. But while her friends also enjoy shopping, they're all also on the hunt for love in one way or another – something that Fu finds she just isn't all that interested in. When her boss starts showing interest in her, will Fu figure it out? Or is she going to keep going in her shopping wonderland?
Status: Complete, also has a recent drama that you can watch with Prime TV!
-
If what interested you most about NANA was it’s portrayal of the music industry of a new band and wanted more of that then try Beck by Sakuishi Harold.  Beck, like NANA, has an anime that while it doesn’t cover the entire series is worth watching or even having the soundtrack on as you read the series.
Tumblr media
Summary:  Fourteen-year-old Yukio "Koyuki" Tanaka is a dispirited young boy with no goals in life. However, this all changes when Koyuki saves a strange-looking dog named Beck from being harassed by a group of local kids. The dog's owner, 16-year-old Ryuusuke "Ray" Minami, is an emerging guitarist and the former member of a popular rock band. After Koyuki meets Ray again in a diner, the older boy leads him to his former band's meeting place and dazzles Koyuki with his amazing guitar skills. Slowly becoming interested in the glamour of western rock culture, Koyuki decides to start playing the guitar while helping Ray achieve his dream of leading the ultimate rock band. Together with Ray's younger sister Maho and a few other members, the two boys launch their career into the world of rock by forming a band called BECK. Beck follows the group's struggles and successes as they spread their fame across Japan.
Status: Complete
-
If you like how Yazawa writes her female “rival” characters as sympathetic and likable (even if not everything they do is likable) then you might enjoy Koda Momoko’s Heroine Shikkaku.  It’s about a girl who is shocked when she discovers she’s more like the bitchy villainess who bullies the sweet and pure heroine in shojo manga.
Tumblr media
Summary:  This could be any girl. Imagine being a heroine of a love story. Hatori also believed that one day she would get married to her childhood friend, Rita. But that's not how the world works! This is a hilarious comedy that honestly paints a painful unrequited love story of this young girl!

If you want a short read like NANA, with two very different girls with the same name who tie their futures together then read the one-shot  Watashi to Watashi by Sahara Mizu.  Note that I’m only suggesting you read this specific one-shot, not any of the other one-shots contained in the collection this one is in... Actually I very much insist you don’t read the first one.  I highly recommend reading others’ of Sahara Mizu’s work if you enjoy this one because even if none of them are directly similar to any of Yazawa’s... the emotional complexity is.

Summary:   Two girls with the same name; one beautiful and athletic, the other awkward and shunned. But who’s the lucky one?

If you like a series having 2 characters named Nana in NANA (even if their relationship with each other is... entirely different) and enjoy the format of Nana and Hachi continuing to address each other in inner monologues in the future where they haven’t seen each other for years or you just like messy, realistic relationships try We Were There by Obata Yuuki.
Tumblr media
Summary:  The start of high school life. To the girls, that also meant the start of their love lives. For brand new first year student, Takahashi Nanami (Nana for short), it was no different... She happens to end up in the same class as the incredibly popular Yano Motoharu, who rumors say that two thirds of all the girls are guaranteed to fall in love with. But will that hold true for Nana, who says that if she had to choose between like or dislike, she'd say she dislikes him!?

What was your favorite thing about Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai?  Was it Akira struggling with his feelings for someone that married into his family?  Was it Midori and Mamirin’s friendship?  Try Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare by Sakisaka Io.  (Strobe Edge also by Sakisaka might also work for you).
Tumblr media
Summary:  The story centers around Yuna and Akari who have two very different views of love: Yuna is someone who sees love as a dream and Akari is someone who is very realistic about her romance choices. Meanwhile, there are two boys, Kazuomi and Rio, who also have different views of love: Kazuomi's an airhead and doesn't understand the concept of love, while Rio grabs the opportunity when confessed to as long as the girl looks cute.

If you just like Yazawa’s work and want to read works by a close friend of hers...  Yoshizumi Wataru!  You might know her best from Marmalade Boy, but she also worked on quite a few josei works about young adults... Like Cappuccino (if you like moving on from a first serious relationship as we saw with Hachi and Shouji), but also Cherish and Spicy Pink.

That’s all I got for now... But again... Let me know if you read any of these! Whether or not at my suggestion lol. And add on too! I’ve read or at least tried all of these myself so now I’m the one in need of recs lol.

do you have any good lgbt manga recs? i just finished shimanami tasogare and loved it
Tumblr media
yes!!!
Authors:
yuhki kamatani - the author of shimanami tasogare! kamatani is x-gender (and ace!) and thoroughly incorporates lgbt characters into their works. the others aren’t like focused on the lgbt experience like how shimanami is, but they’re all wonderful and beautiful and have lgbt characters and i highly, highly rec them.
akiko morishima - a lesbian mangaka who i really like! she’s really good abt tackling the traditional stereotypes in yuri manga as well as writing stuff about older characters and frankly discussing sexuality and shit. she also has works that are not yuri manga-centric but iirc a good chunk if not all of them still have lgbt characters, so they’re worth checking out as well! (she does have a few works with some fuckshit in them tho, fair warning)
takako shimura - i don’t personally know what her sexuality is (tho shes a woman, i know this), but shimura is pretty well-known for her lgbt works. wandering son and aoi hana are probably her most famous, at least over here in the west! she also tends to incorporate lgbt themes into her works that don’t center on lgbt characters as well.
ebine yamaji - another lesbian mangaka! yamaji’s works are very... realistic, usually about lesbian working through things. there’s a lot of trauma and a lot of sadness in her works, as well as sexual content, and i really love her art. i haven’t read ALL of her works, but what i have, i’m enamored with. they’re sad but rarely TRAGIC.
hiyori otsu - i don’t actually know otsu’s sexuality, but she’s a shoujo ai/yuri mangaka who writes a lot of genuinely sweet stuff. her works tend to very much be on the softer side of things, even if they can be bittersweet, and i’ve really enjoyed all i’ve read by her. it’s nice to just, be able to read a simple and nice lesbian manga without any major angst or tragedy or even sexual content sometimes, you know?
Autobiographies:
honey x honey by sachiko takeuchi - a slice of life little manga about the author and her girlfriend! it is abt a decade old, which you can see some of, but it’s a really cute peek into their lives and japanese lgbt culture. there ARE sequel(s?), but i unfortunately haven’t managed to find any english translations for them. if you do, let me know!
my lesbian experience with loneliness by kabi nagata - i own this manga! i keep it squirreled away in the bottom of my desk and pull it out every few weeks or so because it’s deeply, deeply relatable to me. the first time i read this manga i sat down and cried because i felt it deep in my soul. absolutely rec!!! there’s also a sequel, my solo exchange diary.
the bride was a boy by chii - a cute little manga about a trans woman named chii, recounting her early years up to her current life, her transition and how she met her husband (+ abt their relationship). it’s super cute and sweet, and very informative!! an absolute rec!!
i was born the wrong sex! by mayufu konishi - i haven’t quite finished this one yet, but this is a highly informative manga about a trans woman heading to thailand for her surgery! it’s extremely extremely informative about every single step of the process, and the author is an absolute delight, so it’s one i’d absolutely rec.
our journey to lesbian motherhood by emiko sugiyama/koyuki higashi/hiroko masuhara - have you heard of the lesbians that got married in disneyland tokyo? this is them!!! this is their autobiographical story of, well, their journey to lesbian motherhood! it’s very good, i definitely enjoyed it - it IS a sequel to another manga by them, but i sadly couldn’t find an english translation anywhere… it’s completely understandable without having read it, though!!
fictional manga:
my brother’s husband by gengoroh tagame - this is one i haven’t read myself, but is pretty damn high up on my ‘next to read’ list. the author is a prominent gay bara author - this is his first dabbling into more family-friendly series. he’s also recently started another family-friendly one called our colors that may be worth looking into as well!
whispered words by takashi ikeda - it’s been a good long while since i’ve read this, but i really enjoyed this when i was younger! (has it already been almost 8 years since it ended?? i feel old) it’s about two lesbians who are best friends - one of which is secretly in love with the other. unfortunately, she’s very much not her friend’s type. :( i vaguely remember some kind of weird crossdressing shenanigans with one character, tho, so tread lightly with that.
koimonogatari by tohru tagura - if you liked shimanami, this is also probably right up your alley! it’s a very realistic manga about a boy finding out that one of his classmates is closeted and gay - and he promptly decides to tell no one because he’s not an asshole, which leads to him being one of this boy’s main confidants. it realistically deals with the homophobia that gay people face, as well as the main character’s slow realization that he’s not necessarily straight, either (or at least, that’s my hypothesis - it’s still ongoing!!). i really enjoyed it.
lonely wolf, lonely sheep by fuka mizutani - two women with the same name, same birth month, and same injury end up meeting by complete coincidence at the hospital. i genuinely adore this manga and all it is. despite it only being one volume long, it deals with heavier topics such as depression, self harm, homophobia, and iirc even suicide. it’s really, really good though and i wish all the best for them.
kono koi ni mirai wa nai by morihashi bingo - i recommend this one tentatively, as the last two chapters are not yet translated (as of 1/11/19), but i enjoyed what was there. despite the label as BL on many sites, this story is actually about a trans woman (tho there is also a gay man in the manga!). the note left off on the most recent chapter, chapter 10, was a very uplifting note that she is not alone and that how she feels is completely, utterly normal, and i have hope for the last two chapters! the art’s really pretty, too, and the metaphors. but again - who knows what could go down in the last two chaps. fingers crossed!
i hear the sunspot by yuki fumino - PLEASE read this one. this manga is about two college-aged young men who end up meeting when one LITERALLY stumbles across the other. kouhei, one of the boys, is hard of hearing - and the other boy, taichi, starts taking notes for him in class in exchange for lunch, and thus begins a friendship that will blossom into romance! it absolutely gets in depth on the hoh/Deaf community in Japan, and is definitely informative - and the guys are just genuinely so sweet (as well as the other characters!!!) and I wish them all the happiness. it’s STILL ONGOING so like, warning on that, but i’m really enjoying it so far. i think there’s also a movie based off it!
cirque arachne by nika saida - this one has some sexual elements to it, so fair warning on that, but i really enjoyed it! it’s a single volume manga about two acrobats that fall in love. the art was cute and i genuinely liked the characters, quite a lot. would definitely rec.
yuureitou by tarou nogizaka - i have not actually read this manga, but it’s another that’s amazingly high up on my to read list. it’s a supernatural horror manga, and the main couple is a trans man and a cis man! i’ve heard good things about it - from people i know personally, as well as just in general - and it’s one i can’t wait to check out.
ohana holoholo by shino tarino - i FEEL like this one is completed, but if it is, the translation isn’t done. either way, i did love what i read from this! ohana holoholo is about a bi woman raising her son along with her ex-girlfriend and their neighbor, nico. it’s really good, one that i HIGHLY recommend, and one of the woman is implied to be trans, too! (fingers crossed they explicitly state it please please please-) overall, i absolutely rec it, please check this out!
no. 6 by atsuko asano/hinoki kino - who HASN’T heard of no. 6? no. 6 is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the government is, well, the government. it involves two young men working to take it down alongside others and they fall in love. and one of the other characters is non-binary! ...honestly that’s probably the best i can describe no. 6 because WOW is it a wild trip. it’s a wild trip that i highly, highly recommend though! you want gays taking down the government alongside killer bees and a magical bug goddess? this is the manga for you. please read it.
asagao to kase san by hiromi takashima & bloom into you by nio nakatani - two shoujo ai manga centering around high schoolers that i haven’t actually read yet, both of which recently got animated adaptations!!! i have heard genuinely fantastic things about both of them (ESPECIALLY) the latter, and bloom into you is actually next on my reading list. they absolutely sound fantastic and i can’t wait to read them!!
seven days by rihito takarai/venio tachibana - a two-volume manga about two high school boys. every week, a boy named seryou goes out with a different girl - he treats them very well, showers them in attention, and then promptly breaks up with them at the end of the week because he didn’t fall in love with them. out of curiosity, his upperclassman, shino, asks him out one week - and thus begins their seven day romance. i really loved this, i really really did.
tamen de gushi by tan jiu - it’s an on-going webcomic about how two girls, qui tong and sun jing, meet and fall in love. the characters are all absurdly fantastic, from the two girls to all of the supporting characters around them, and it’s an absolute TREAT to read. i would highly rec it, there’s some lovely shenanigans in there.
last but not least, i highly rec manga written by the year 24 group. this group was a non-formal group of female mangaka in the 1970s that really revolutionized and influenced the shoujo manga genre. many of their works are considered classics today, with works such as kaze to ki no uta, claudine...!, the heart of thomas, and shiroi heya no futari among them. a lot of their works really dug in and examined sexuality and gender, and you can find some of the original shounen ai, shoujo ai, and trans manga among them. i’m a sucker for the classics, and i highly recommend them. i honestly could have listed every single of one these mangaka in my recommend authors list, but decided it was just easier to promote the group as a whole. the best for last, you know?
hope this helps, anon!

Note
do you have any wlw manga recommendations?
DO I.
Girl Friends - Shy bookish girl falls for fashionable girl, lots of pining. I tend to think of it as “baby’s first yuri” since it’s one of the more well known good yuri series.
Akuma no Riddle - A class of assassins compete to try kill their classmate but one of them switches sides to protect her. Multiple wlw couples. Has an anime.
Bright and Cheery Amnesia - A woman wakes up with amnesia and immediately falls for her girlfriend all over again. Heavily comedic, very cute.
Fragtime - A girl with the power to stop time for a few minutes a day ends up in a sticky situation when she encounters a girl who’s immune to her power. Together, they take advantage of their stolen time.
Free Soul - A recently out lesbian trying to figure out her life ends up sleeping with a woman she has a crush on only to be told she’s not interested in a relationship. Pining ensues. A personal favourite.
Lonely Wolf, Lonely Sheep - Two women meet by coincidence after learning they share the same name and same birthday.
Pietà - A woman with a past she keeps hidden and a woman who is trapped in her past. Quite dark but very good.
Sasameki Koto - An out and proud lesbian who loves cute girls and her tomboy closeted best friend who has a secret crush on her. Has an anime, though it doesn’t cover the full series.
For some series that include wlw but aren’t straight up yuri, there’s also
Cardcaptor Sakura which really, need I say more. Magical girl series with a bi protag whose best friend is a lesbian (literally no one in the main cast is straight, bless) Obviously has an anime which I personally prefer over the manga.
Houkago Hokenshitsu - Admittedly I haven’t read this in literally almost a decade so I can’t remember if it’s actually very good, but it’s about a bisexual person figuring out their gender. Includes horror elements.
Hourou Musuko - Follows a young trans girl as she goes through school and discovers her gender. Has an anime that covers when she’s in junior high.
RG Veda - Follows a cursed child and the group of people destined to take down heaven. Features a wonderful lesbian power couple among other lgbt characters. Be ready to cry.
Shimanami Tasogare - Fairly well known at this point for its fantastic representation, the series is entirely about a group of people who create a lounge for lgbt people like themselves.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni - By far the longest read on this list, but I will never stop recommending this series. Fantasy/mystery/horror about a murderous witch and her curse. Sadomasochistic lesbian witches and a trans bisexual leading lady? Yes please. Don’t watch the anime, do read the visual novels

SOKOKU -Underworld’s Nightmare- Prologue
This is my first BSD fanfic & still writing right now. Please give me your impressions, opinions or whatever about my writing. I’ll be glad to read them. Enjoy reading!
Sokoku
In Japanese, it means Double Black. For what I know, it is a duo formed for annihilating people with no self-pity, filled with black hearts.
Black is a symbol of evil, blindness, mystery, death, sins and other meanings I can find especially in literature.
In Bungo Stray Dogs, black and white are the color representatives that stand out to me throughout the story. Yokohama, a port city in Kanagawa prefecture, where the story is set.
During the day, when the sun rises above and lights the world, people come out of their house and start their own tasks like a colony of ants come out of their nest and do their duty.
Students attend to their school and study, company men and women went to their office to report their duties, shops, cafes and other places open for business, and vehicles drive on the road.
The city is just like a normal one, like any other places in my view but behind it there is a dark side when the sun goes down and a gloomy but aesthetic full moon shows up. At night, many criminals crawl out from the shadow to pursue their sins of crimes.
There are some groups which have a few special ability users like the Port Mafia. Those group of ability users are the kind of people to control and terminate the people who will get in their way. They are dangerous people but not all of them are that kind.
Because of these crime activities, the government already made a department, known as Special Ability Department, that specializes in monitoring the ability users in the whole nation, even foreign ability users who will come to visit. The department also has ability users for handling the cases regarding that matter.
Other than a government department, there are also a few other organizations which also have ability users to use their ability for good especially solving crimes that normal detectives and the police cannot do such as Armed Detective Agency.
In Yokohama, the government, along with military police, handle the cases at day. At night, the criminal organizations take over the city.
The city is always in the midst of war between special ability organizations. In order to reach the balance and peace of the city, a certain person named Natsume Soseki made his plan by, as a start, created a duo. A strong but dangerous duo.
Fukuzawa and Mori
At first, both of them never knew nor met each other before. Fukuzawa Yukichi used to work at the government as a bodyguard. He was a lone wolf who never wanted to work with anyone until he met a young boy named Edogawa Ranpo.
Mori Ogai was an underground doctor who, had his own clinic, worked in the slum where poor and street rats stay. He always bring a doll-like little girl named Elise to his office and spoils her all the time and always by her side.
How did they met?
Twelve years before an establishment of Armed Detective Agency, Natsume gave Fukuzawa a request for protecting Mori. No clear answer why he gave that kind of request but, in order to establish his agency, he accepted it and met him at his clinic for the first time.
They seemed to be never clicked each other. For example, Mori acted indifferent toward Fukuzawa about his fighting skills will become dull and Fukuzawa felt annoying on that. But once in a blue moon, when they faced their enemies, the two of them finished them off like a tornado destroy everything in a flash.
At one night, Mori captured by the foreign criminal gang from South America. The gang captured him because he was an information broker so they will require his knowledge of Port Mafia’s armory location by torturing him. Fukuzawa then came to their hideout and save Mori.
It was impossible for a man get through tight security filled with armed men but, for Fukuzawa, he killed them all easily. After that, it was Mori’s turn to kill other men in the same room as him.
Fukuzawa uses his katana to kill the enemies and Mori hiding his bloodlust to trick them until he took out his scalpel to either slice or throw at their throat. Both of them are the unstoppable that even the top assassins cannot lift his finger to stop them.
This is how the first generation of Double Black, Fukuzawa and Mori, formed by Natsume. As a writer, I will write the continue tale of them in the first chapter, about finding the true purpose of their fighting alongside together before they become the leaders of their respective organizations.
Dazai and Chuuya
They were the second generation of Double Black under Mori’s care but worked for Port Mafia. These two were not much different when in comes to fight together but, in terms of strategy and fighting style, they were much crueler than Fukuzawa and Mori.
One is a man in mummy-like bandage around his body who showed his inner demon himself and the other is a great fighter with his incredible gravity control ability. All people of the underworld knew them as the worst enemies they have ever encountered.
At the age of fourteen, Dazai picked up by Mori as a patient for attempting suicide. He always a type of person who continuously attempts his suicides but failed many times, always got himself hurt whether by those attempts or by accidents. Mori then brought Dazai along as a witness for his assassination plan.
To kill Port Mafia's predecessor.
Mori told Dazai a cover story and so that he became a new boss of his organization as his own. He kept him safe and alive in order to avoid the suspicious of the predecessor's assassination. To gain the whole organization's trust toward him.
One year passed.
Ever since Mori became a boss, rumors about him assassinated the predecessor spread around the Port Mafia. He even heard a rumor about the predecessor, who supposedly dead and properly buried, was alive and caused ruckus in their turf. If anyone learn about his assassination plan, then his position as a boss will be lost.
So Mori leave the investigation of predecessor to Dazai and, during his investigation, that is how he met a young boy as the same age as him, Nakahara Chuya, previously knew as King of the Sheep.
Chuuya is a natural fighter who only uses his legs to brutally kick his opponents like how he kicked Dazai when they first met. He never use his hands to fight until now. He also possess a special ability to manipulate gravity around him and his enemies will be crushed suffocating by touching him even the slightest hit.
When Chuya captured by Dazai, thanked to his ability-nullification ability, and Hirotsu, another ability user and the person who tag along for the investigation, Mori decided to let Dazai and Chuuya to investigate together.
Both Dazai and Chuuya disagreed together at first but Mori explained that things will work well by working together, with Dazai’s nullification and Chuuya’s fighting skills and ability, so they ended up investigate together. All that time, they always arguing and fighting each other like the small brats fighting over the small problems.
Throughout their investigation, they confirmed that the predecessor was not actually alive but it was a being called Arahabaki, known as a god of calamity, that can shape-shifting its body controlled by another ability user. Chuuya revealed himself that Arahabaki they saw was not a real one but actually himself because of his past.
Chuuya’s past is not a happy memory not because he was abused or tortured by someone nor started a harsh life like any characters you have seen in other stories who met their unfortunate fate. He was an empty shell, mere human body.
Eight, years ago, Chuuya was born as a vessel to Arahabaki and sealed away by the Japanese military. One day, two men, Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine, infiltrated the military base to take Arahabaki’s power but failed because Arahabaki was fully freed.
Arahabaki now merged with Chuuya and made his own personality and will but they lost their memories before the age of seven. Chuuya only recalled someone reached out to his hand and freed him from the seal.
Dazai and Chuuya found who controlled Arahabaki. It was Rando, a Port Mafia executive and his real name is Arthur Rimbaud, with his ability called “Illumination” that conjure hyperspace subregion. He joined Port Mafia in order to find Chuuya and kill him but failed to do so because Dazai and Chuuya defeated him in the end.
On Rando’s final breath, he gave Chuuya his final wish which is to keep living as a human being. Chuuya accepted his wish and still keeping onto him after that.
One month later.
Dazai finally became a mafioso and executive and made his own squadron. Chuuya also became a mafioso and even received Rando’s hat from Mori as a custom way of officially joining by giving a piece of clothing.
For the sake of continuing the event of their tale, I am going to write a chapter about an event when they fight against an enemy organization and made a debut as Sokoku which you never seen or read in the original work.
Atsushi and Akutagawa
Atsushi is an orphan and main protagonist of the series. At first, he had a low self-esteem, always considered himself useless by the people from his former orphanage especially the headmaster himself. After Dazai pick him up from the riverside while he was in a state of starvation, he recommended him to join the Armed Detective Agency and his life changed after meeting new people and slowly gain his self-worth.
Akutagawa is one of the antagonists and a member of the Port Mafia. He calls himself as Port Mafia’s dog and the agency members refer him as the most troublesome and dangerous ability user to be captured. Like Atsushi, he is an orphan along with his younger sister, Gin. They were raised in the slums of the city with other orphans. After the orphans were shot dead by a group of criminals and only him and her sister survived, Dazai picked them up, giving him a reason to live, to become stronger and get a praise from his teacher.
Their first meeting started with a bounty. The Port Mafia received an info from the Guild, a North America special ability organization, about a weretiger that needed to be captured with a big reward and that weretiger is Atsushi. They attempted to capture him a few times but Atsushi still be saved and protected by the detective agency.
In the last resort, Akutagawa successfully captured Atsushi and ready to deliver but Kyoka, a former assassin who became a detective agency member, tried to save him. Seeing her self-sacrifice for him in Atsushi’s eyes made him to save her and fight Akutagawa. That is when he finally begin gaining his self-confidence.
Both Atsushi and Akutagawa are always fighting in both physical and oral for their different resolve. Atsushi, who sacrifices himself to gain his right to live, and Akutagawa, who seeks an approve from a certain person, are likely same to gain something but different in terms of characteristics and morals.
During their final fight against Francis Fitzgerald, the Guild’s boss, they always arguing over their resolve like the stray dogs barking each other for finding out who is right and who is wrong and Francis saw them that way.
Which is why Dazai forced them to work together to defeat the boss and test his theory if their power have the potential to become a stronger duo than the previous Double Black pairs and he is right all along. Francis defeat with their combined abilities.
With Atsushi’s white tiger ability and Akutagawa’s black beast Rashomon, both of them are an unstoppable pair and that is the start of the new generation of Double Black, Shin Sokoku. Their tale of their fight is yet to end as I will write which they will face a new antagonist after the three-way war.
These three pairs are ferocious groups. Each character have different ideals and believe but their bond of fighting alongside is much stronger than we thought. When their tale is about to unfold, what are their string of fate lead to? Please enjoy reading them.

Adam and Eve Chapter 2: Bang Bang
Prologue. Chapter One.
Just a few things before I start, this is for sure one of the kinkiest things I’ve written (gun play) so if that makes anyone uncomfortable I so understand and there is no pressure to read. I will have a summary of what happened in this chapter at the begin of the next one so you can still follow the story without reading it. I am really stretching my limits with writing really dark characters so I’m giving it all I got. I have plans for worse stuff too hehe. Feedback is very encouraged!
Summary: Betty and Jughead go to meet the Serpents and add a new unexpected member to the gang.
Rated: Super M
Word Count: 3432
Jughead was disillusioned pretty quickly when Betty insisted they shower separately. She was deathly nervous, he could tell; and she just needed silence to soak in the steam and think of all the things she could do wrong in front of the Serpents. Number one, she could pull an Archie and waltz in like an All-American Boy Fighting for Justice. It amazed her how plainly he saw things, like a rookie cop on a crime show. Her and Archie had the privilege of growing up with parents that had nice jobs and lived in a nice neighborhood where people didn’t have to make a living being a shady character.
There was a sharp knock on the door, startling Betty and causing her to drop the shampoo bottle in her hands.
“Betty! Hurry up or I’m going to have to hop in there with you,” Jughead joked on the other side of the door. Her parents would be home soon and it would mean a lot less explaining if she could get Jughead and his florescent colored truck out of here. Betty made a quick rinse of her hair and left the water running for a quick transfer. She wrapped a plush towel around her body and slinked back to her room. Jughead is waiting for her on the bed sans shirt. He is trying to tease her. His arms are above his head, stretching out his lean chest and torso. Jughead’s pants are just low enough where Betty can see the beginning of his patch of black coarse hairs.
Betty swallowed, “Water is still running, better hop in quickly.”
“I don’t have a change of clothes,” Jughead murmured, not moving.
“You’re a boy, just wear what you did yesterday. Go,” Betty swatted him out of the room and went to her dresser and closet scouring her clothes. What could she wear that made her look more dangerous, but not like she was trying to hard?
The blonde opted for a simple pair of jeans, black Keds and a form fitting black V-neck. It was simple and she could easily blend in. Jughead came out with a pink towel wrapped loosely around his waist as he ran a hand through his wet locks. Betty was embarrassed to realize how long it took her to put together a lame outfit to meet a bunch of brutes.
“Is this okay?” Betty asked her boyfriend and she whirled in a Miss-America-type circle.
Jughead snickered, “They don’t care. You could wear a trash bag. I bet you’d look hot in a trash bag too.”
The boy proceeded to drop his towel like nothing and dried himself. Betty could never get over how absolutely gorgeous he was. His beauty marks and freckles mapped out his body leading Betty to the treasures hidden; his smug grin, angular jaw, broad shoulders, sharp hipbones… he was truly majestic. He pulled his clothes on from the night before and put the signature beanie over his wet hair. Lastly, he shrugged on his jacket and offered his arm to Betty like a gentlemanly escort.
“Shall we,” Jughead said with a lopsided grin.
“We shall.”
Betty was so eager to get this over with, she left her jacket inside and it caused her to shiver in the old pick up. She distracted herself by watching Jughead’s expression as he drove across the rocky back roads. He was impossibly stoic and showed no inflection of emotion. This was the Jughead FP warned her about; impenetrable and hard. He has nothing to worry about, they approached him. They want him to be a member of their family. However, there is probably always a part of him that fears the rejection he’s received from everyone in his life. They pull up to the biker bar and it looks relatively empty seeing as it is 11am. Jughead turns off the truck but doesn’t get out.
“If I go in there, Betty, I can’t go back,” Jughead said, his voice crackling under the threat of tears. He wiped his nose on the sleeve of his leather jacket.
“Do you want to?” Betty asked.
He smiled at her briefly and grabbed her hand. He knew what she meant, did he want to go back to be lonely and stepped all over? The Serpents could give him confidence, protection, and maybe lessons on how to defend himself. Jughead let go of her hand to reach for the door handle and stare at the entrance of the Whyte Wyrm. Betty soon joined him and they intertwined fingers walking up the rickety steps. The door was locked and Jughead rapped on it carefully. A little bald head peaked over the window and inspected them incredulously before opening the barndoors properly stolen from a farmer when the old doors were broken in an unsavory barfight.
“Hey, it’s FP’s boy and his little lady!” The short bald man yelled behind him with maybe a cockney accent?, presumably to the rest of the gang.
A mob of men came into view and Hack Saw, the man Jughead met that night at the trailer, stood in front of them all and ushered Jughead and Betty inside the quiet bar. He lead them to a large wooded room behind the bar. A little sheep dog named Hot Dog followed the group. The room had a huge long table in the center and chairs from different dining sets scattered around it. It looks like a hillbilly’s board room. The men take their seats and Jughead and Betty do the same. Betty took in her surroundings and felt completely out of place. Along the walls she saw several women standing and whsierping to each other. Was Betty supposed to stand off to the side like them? If Jughead was going through with being a Serpent, which he clearly was, she was not going to be a bystander like these ladies clearly were.
Hack Saw sat at the head of the table, clearly the new boss after FP’s incarceration. He clapped his hands together and leaned back on the back two legs of his chair.
“You know me. Bald guy who let you in Wally. Young guy with the acne is Wolf. I’m sure you saw him lurking around Southside High,” Hack Saw began the introduction. Wolf gave a skeptical nod in Jughead’s direction. “Guy with two different colored eyes is Tuck, long haired guy is Georgi and lastly, we got Jaq. He’s our Canadian connection. Behind us are our ladies.”
Jughead thought their introductions boiled them to singular beings and he wondered how he would be introduced by Hack Saw. Probably the kid with the hat. He nodded back at all of them. He wasn’t sure what to do with the information. Were they all going to be pals now, drinking beer, and playing poker?
“Alright, down to business. Wally is our weapons guy. Toss him his piece,” Hack Saw said.
Wally dug into a non-descript black bag under the table and slid a silver shining gun across to Jughead. He dug through again and passed him a green box full of bullets. Jughead stared at it, not removing his hands from his lap. He’d never seen a real gun in his life. He also had no idea that his dad would have one either, but it’s clear he did. What had his dad done?
“I don’t know how to use it,” Jughead said finally.
“Wally’ll help ya,” Hack Saw said. “Now boy, I’m putting you on bar deliveries with Wolf for the time being.”
“What does that entail?” Jughead asked.
Hack Saw quirked an eyebrow and looked back at a woman behind him, probably his wife by the look of her age and mom jeans.
“Entail means what does the task involve, sweetheart,” she replied in a scratchy voice.
“Oh yeah, what you gotta do is stalk the bars on the north side and swipe alcohol from their delivery trucks to supply the Whyte Wyrm. It’s easy we just need strong guys to lift the boxes quickly.”
Jughead didn’t realize he would go straight to work. He sort of thought he would get a free pass on that because of his Dad, but it seemed he was more replacing him as a body to run their business, whatever that may mean.
He hadn’t heard a peep from Betty the whole time and was considered she was mad at him for dragging her into this and as soon as this little meeting was through she was hitting the bricks and finding solace in the arms of their redhead friend. He doesn’t know why that thought popped into his head but he sure as hell didn’t like it. Jughead looked over at her and instead of seeing contempt, her eyes were darkened to a dark shade of green, almost like swamp water, and a weird twisted smile spread across her pink lips. She looked like a porcelain doll that just cracked her expression was eerie and wished to dive into the labyrinth of her brain.
“Do I get a gun?” Betty spoke up. Hack Saw and the rest of the gang looked literally blown away by Betty’s question as they all leaned back further in the chairs and even the silent women on the side gasped and whispered amongst each other.
“Like hell she does,” Hack Saw’s wife cut in, “I’ve been married to this bastard for 25 years and I ain’t got a gun.”
Hack Saw agreed, “We don’t give the girls their own guns. That’s just the roles. You gotta be a Serpent.”
Jughead was amongst the people who were aghast by her sudden determination to be a part of the whole situation.  “You don’t have to do this for me,” Jughead leaned over and pressed his lips to her ear.
“I’m not,” she said aloud. “If I must be a Serpent to get a gun, then make me a Serpent.”
“Betts—“ Jughead began, but Hack Saw cut off Betty’s boyfriend with a raised hand.
“These things ain’t toys, girl,” Hack Saw said to Betty, the first time he looked her the entire time she been at the Whyte Wyrm.
“They aren’t toys? You just gave one to Jughead and he’s never used one before. At least I’ve gone to a firing range with my dad,” Betty explained.
Jughead scuffed in his head. What can’t his perfect girlfriend do.
“Listen, girl, if you can hit three targets in three tries, I’ll you a gun,” Hack Saw snickered looking around at his gang mates. “I’ll set the targets.”
“Deal. And the name is Betty, not girl.”
Jughead was beyond amazed at the ferocity of his girlfriend and frankly, she had a pair of big balls. She was demanding a gun from a gang leader and putting up bets with him. There was a part of him that was incredibly turned on by her display of raw need for power but he didn’t want her to get caught up with this… but maybe he underestimated just how dark she was inside. He shuffled in seat as Betty took Jughead’s newly acquired gun and began to load the barrel with three bullets. She loaded it was such experienced precision. Betty was clearly confident. She spun the barrel back into place and smiled at Hack Saw, “Ready when you are.”
It started to rain outside as the Southside Serpents and their ladies watched as Hack Saw set up beer cans along the cars in the junkyard behind the Whyte Wyrm. They were placed in difficult places like high on a car hood that was stacked atop other cars, one on a bumper and one precariously perched in the broken window of an old mustang.
“The rules are you gotta hit all three with only three bullets. Gotta stand 25 feet back,” Hack Saw shouted to be heard of the sound of rain pounding on the rusted metal of the junkyard cars.
“Where are the headphones?” Betty asked innocently.
“Heh, girl, this isn’t the shooting range with your Daddy,” Hack Saw chuckled.
Betty decided not to dignify Hack Saw with correcting him—it was Betty not girl— because he was about to be embarrassed when Elizabeth Cooper became the first female Serpent. She steadied her hand and rose the piece at eye level and squinted. Her arms were outstretched as far as they could go and she felt the coolness of the metal trigger on her fingertips. She aimed at the can in the window first and blasted away, beaning it right in the middle. Over the loud pulsing in her head she could hear Hack Saw murmur something about beginner’s luck. She aimed again for the can on the top of the hood and the one on the bumper in quick succession quickly, shooting both down.
There was a deafening silence that was only overshadowed by the echoing of Betty’s gun shots. Not a single muscle of anyone moved until Jughead strolled up to his girlfriend and dipped her in his arms and kissed her until the breath in her body was sucked out of her. He released her and gave her a shit eating grin.
“Well, shit,” Hack Saw said as he began a slow clap. With the permission of the leader, the rest of the gang and their girls clapped for Betty. Even Hot Dog let out triumphant barks for her. “Presenting out first lady Serpent, Betty.”
A girl with purple hair came up to her, she looked around their age so she was most likely Wolf’s girlfriend and clapped giddily, “I want to make you your own jacket. It’ll be more form fitting and will look adorable on you!”
This meeting had gone better than Jughead had imagined, but nothing like he thought. Wally went inside and came out quickly with a gun and bullets for Betty. He looked at Jughead as he handed her the items, “I guess I don’t need to teach you to shoot boy, your girl here can do it for me.” Wally gave a friendly wink and joined Hack Saw who stood squarely by the edge of the junkyard.
“You can join your boy with deliveries,” Hack Saw told Betty. “Meeting is adjourned.”
Betty and Jughead grabbed their belongings and were silent until they climbed into the truck.
Jughead is the first to speak, “I want to fuck you so bad right now.”
Betty let out a fake gasp, “Jughead Jones, how forward of you!”
“What made you want a gun anyway?” Jughead asked as he shifted the truck into reverse and whipped out of the park and in the direction of the Riverdale Trailer Park.
“I don’t know… it was like this part of me deep in my stomach wanted to know what it would feel like to hold a gun in my hands, being a part of something so….” Betty’s voice trailed off trying to find the right word.
“Dark?” Jughead finished for her.
“Yeah… dark. When Wally gave that gun to you, I had these images in my mind of us… like… God this is so humiliating,” Betty gave an awkward laugh.
“It’s okay, Betty. I want to know,” Jughead urged her on with unbridled curiosity.
“I had this gross, but hot, fantasy of us in bed together, naked, running the heat of our just fired guns across each other’s bodies…” Betty looked at him and bit her lip. Her eyes were big and doe-y and Jughead was about to cream his skinny jeans.
“It’s not gross,” Jughead croaked out.
“There is something seriously wrong with me,” Betty said.
Jughead wrapped his arm around her, keeping one hand on the wheel and the other threaded through her damp ponytail. “No one is perfect. I love all of you.”
“Even the fucked parts?”
“Especially the fucked parts,” Jughead laughed and migrated his hand from Betty’s hair to the inseam of her jeans. He played with the frayed thread at the apex of her thighs. Her breath hitched and she felt the delicious burning in her chest. Her boyfriend firmly pressed his three fingers to her core and rubbed her clit over her jeans. Jughead could feel the heat pooling at her center. A low groan fell from Betty’s lips and the sound resounded throughout the truck. Jughead smirked and traveled up and unbutton her jeans to reach a hand inside.
“You’re driving,” Betty said breathlessly as Jughead’s slender fingers slipped into her silky folds. God, he loved being able to play with her whenever he wanted. He spent countless nights stroking himself begging for the chance to just see Betty do a split in her cheerleading skirt, and now he got to feel what was underneath that said skirt.
He pulled into the dirt of the driveway of his trailer and parked it one handed. He turned off the car and leapt from his seat to kiss Betty feverishly as he moved his fingers in and out of her dripping sex. Betty pulled away from Jughead’s sloppy kiss and stilled his digital thrusts by grasping his wrist.
“Did do something wrong?” Jughead asked with his eyes filled with genuine concern and regret before Betty even said something.
“Can we try it?” Betty’s voice was husky.
Jughead looked down and realized he hadn’t noticed that Betty had been gripping her gun the whole car ride.
“Today? Now?” Jughead asked.
Betty just simply nodded. Jughead moved his body off hers and took the gun from his leather jacket and stared blankly at the piece of medal. Betty took the piece from him, making sure he still held it while she put the barrel in her mouth and sucked on it and licked the base like it was Jughead’s own cock. He automatically stiffened at the uncomfortable and confusing stirring in his pants as she made a show of caressing the gun with her mouth. The raven-haired boy left his mouth agape and Betty removed the gun from her mouth and got out of the car, heading from the trailer, and not waiting for Jughead to catch up. When his rigid body finally climbed the few steps to the trailer, he walked in on his girlfriend stripping her clothes. She was down to nothing but her pure white panties which she promptly slide out of. Wordlessly, Betty peeled the leather Serpent jacket off Jughead and wrapped herself in it. The leather swallowed her whole but she didn’t look lost in it. She looked found. If someone told him last year, or even last night; that he would have a naked Betty Cooper in nothing but a Serpent jacket and a gun in her hand waiting for him to fuck her he would’ve collapsed right there. But this was the reality before him and he was fucking hooked. Just the image of her dark eyes and sultry lips was addicting.
“Take me please, Juggie,” Betty sounded so innocent but looked anything but.
She laid back on the couch and spread her legs. Jughead stripped his shirt quickly and got his knees before his goddess and kissed her senselessly. His 16-year-old brain couldn’t comprehend what was happening and feels like he’s short circuiting. Betty undid his pants as he was busy leaving purple blossoms along her neck. His system was given an unearthly shock when Betty scraped the edge of the barrel across his hot and heavy chest. He took the piece from her and ran his tongue along it like she did before.
“Do you trust me?” Jughead asked. She could practically hear his heart hammering through his chest. “It’s not loaded, remember.”
Betty nodded unable to form words in the haze of uncharted debauchery.
“Tell me if this is too much,” Jughead whispered into the shell of her ear as he pressed the coolness of the metal into the heat of her sex. It is so dirty Betty practically cums right there. He leaves the gun inside her and is just mesmerized at the picture before him—a gun nestled into Betty’s vagina. He moved it in and out slightly before pulling it out and licking her drippings off the barrel.
“Fuck me,” Betty managed to say.
Jughead sat beside Betty and pulls in her onto his lap where she settles her sex on his manhood and bounces on him, both cumming so quickly just from the heat of it all they collapse into one another and just hold each other there.
“Who the hell are we?” Jughead whimpered into Betty’s ear.
“I have no idea,” she answered solemnly, half ashamed and half utterly satisfied.

See the Moon Rising
This story was related to me by a veteran of the Second World War. Names have been changed for legal reasons but the story I'm about to present is, at least to the man telling me this, accurate and true.
I met him in a retirement home for vets as part of a community service order. I was to go and help out anyway I could to work off the two hundred hours I was supposed to complete. I met him about forty hours into my service. The lady who worked there asked me to keep him company as his best friend from the war had passed on two weeks prior and he was keeping to himself. She thought since I was liked around the place by the others he might take a liking to me and open up a bit. I agreed and went over to him.
For the first two hours or so I tried to get him to talk but he just sat there looking out the window, like he was lost in thought. I talked about different things, but he just didn't seem to care. I asked him about the war, and he just kept looking out that window. I was going to give up when I decided to try one last thing. I told him my grandfather was also a veteran, but he fought in Korea. He seemed to stir at this and I kept going. Told him he was wounded trying to take a hill he was ordered to capture. A medic saved his life. After that he was shipped back home and swore off war. The old vet looked at me and gave me a slight smile. Then he spoke.
"Your granddad was a smart man. I swore off war when I finally got home. But I'm going to let you in on something. You can swear off war, but you never really let it go."
We then talked all the time after that. He told me of those days back then and how much time had changed. He talked about women he loved and lost, the struggles and benefits of a post war life, what it was like during the Cold War, etc. One thing I noticed was his reluctance to talk about the war itself he fought in. I mentioned it a couple of times, but he always said maybe one day. This went on till my last week of community service. The final day we sat down as usual in his favorite spot by the window. He told me he was sad I would be going and that he enjoyed his time talking with me. Then he said he wanted to tell one last story before I left. He had never told anyone outside who was there that day this story. Not even his late wife. He said whether I believed it or not was up to me. I was interested and listened up. He took a drink from his mug, cleared his throat, and started to spin me his tale.
I was part of the landing team that hit Omaha beach that fateful day in June. The Airborne guys took off first ahead of us earlier and landed in the early hours that morning. The ship ride over was tense. Feelings all around were of fear and anxiousness. But we were a proud bunch, and we weren't going to let something like death get in our way. At least that's what we told ourselves. That morning the first wave of men hit the beach. It was an intense situation. I was part of the third wave that assaulted the beach. By then we were starting to gain a foothold and start our way into the bluffs themselves. The fighting had been raging on for a few hours by that point. I made my way to the other troops at the sand wall that separated us from them. We eventually broke through and took the bluffs, then were ordered inland to make a perimeter to repeal any counter attack the krouts might throw at us to retake the bluffs. Half the day in and we had established a beachhead.
I was lucky to survive that day. It was also my first time killing another human being. Wouldn't be my last. I stayed on that beach for the next week. During that time I was sent on small patrols to make sure Fritz wasn't sneaking up on us. On the fourteenth day I was summoned by a Captain to be part of a nine man team to go check out an abandoned cemetery reported to have enemy activity. Locals that were fleeing the area had reported seeing a small German squad holed up at a cemetery about nine miles west of our beachhead. The cemetery was just that: a cemetery out in the middle of nowhere. There was no sounding village within miles of that cemetery. The Captains orders were to go and clear out that squad. He then assembled a team. Besides myself and the Captain, there was Johnny Toudur, a rifleman, Rizzo Caprice, a rifleman, Donald Watlick, our radioman, Michael Espinoza, our BAR man, Eugene Cardinal, a rifleman, Tony LaRuche, a rifleman, and last was Rene LaDupre, a rifleman. This made up our nazi hunting squad.
Toudur and Cardinal were from Tennessee, living in the same small town. Caprice, LaRuche and Espinoza all trained together in bootcamp and all ended up in the same company, same unit, and now the same squad. Watlick was pulled to serve as our radioman. He also spoke French and German. None of us had known him before then. The Captains origins were a mystery to us all. And then there was the Cajun, a one Rene LaDupre. He was the most queer out of us all. He and I were in the same Higgins when we landed. We both took out a machine gun team and were together when we held a line from a possible German reinforcement. He was, all in all, a good soldier.
We were to only take weapons and ammo. Anything that we didn't need was left. We were to be light as the Captain, whose name was Howard Wright, wanted to attack quick and swift. We were to set out just before dawn and use the cover of darkness. At least that was the plan. There was a full moon out that night, so we tried to stick to the shadows as much as possible. We were to reach our destination in around a few hours, but had pauses along the way. Sometimes we thought we heard movement, most of the time it being a sheep or cow. About an hour in and Johnny started speaking first.
"The moon makes things look eerie out here," he said.
"What's the matter Johnny? Spooked?" Michael chimed in.
"Not really. Well," Johnny started before he paused. I could tell he looked a little nervous in the moons glow. "Y'all remember that movie where that man turns into a wolf?"
"Yes I do," Rene answered. "What about it?"
"Well, that movie scared me a bit. I was sixteen when I saw it, and it has stuck with me. When the moons full, I get spooked a bit." Everyone but the Captain laughed at that.
"So let me get this straight," I said, "you have no fear of a man with a rifle trying to kill you, but have a fear of a made up movie monster?"
"No, that's not it," Johnny said in reply. "I don't want to die. Hell, dying out here scares me greatly. It's just, you know, that movie spooked me. That's all."
"That monster isn't made up," Rene said. "It's a real thing. At least where I'm from." A awkward silence fell on us.
"What do you mean?" Johnny finally said.
"My mama used to tell us stories about them growing up," Rene replied. "She used to tell us not to wander too far in the woods or near the swamps or the loo garoo would get us."
"What's a loo garoo?" Johnny asked.
"Its the creole word for werewolf. It's a man that can transform into a wolf. A wolf man if you will. Mama used to tell us about her encounters with a few growing up herself. And it's not like in the movie. They don’t turn just because the moon is full. Though it does influence them a lot more to come during that time. No, mama said they can turn whenever. Those that are more attuned to it can control when and where they become one. But it can also trigger during extreme distress."
"Like what kind of distress?" I butted in, completely drawn into Renes story.
"Well, mama said one time when she was a young woman she was coming back home from her cousin who lived on the same street as her. As she was crossing the road near where it turns down her lonely dirt road she heard a couple men arguing. The sun hadn't gone down all the way and she it was still bright enough to see. She said she saw the two men yelling about something when one of them pulled out a knife. The other man started to run from him yelling not to do it. The man with the knife proceeded to chase him. He tackled the man not too far and proceeded to stab him. The man fell, writhing in pain. The other man started to walk away from him when all of a sudden the man on the ground started turning into this beast. The other man ran into the surrounding woods as the beast man got up and sniffed the air. It howled something fierce before turning to look at mama, then it ran into the woods in chase of the man."
"Bullshit!" chimed in Tony. "That's a lie if I ever heard one."
"Mama don't lie!" Rene said in defense. "She has never lied to us. Besides, if you lived where I do you would be inclined to start believing in some of the things that go on out there. They got the voodoo out there. Witchcraft, vampires, ghosts, and things that will give you the heebee jeebees."
"Quiet!" the Captain ordered. "Keep your eyes peeled."
We walked on in silence until we reached the outer perimeter of the cemetery. In the moonlight we could see the old chapel like structure. There were no lights on or any sound coming from the cemetery. Headstones lined the way up. Motioning us to take a defensive position we found points of fire and waited. Captain wanted to see if the enemy was still around. After about twenty minutes of listening and watching, the Captain decided to send someone up to check it out. I was volunteered. I was already on the side of the road the cemetery was on and quickly made my way to the first headstone. Peeking over, I saw rows of gravestones and not much else. Slowly, I made my way through the forest of stones, keeping a desperate ear out for sounds of anything. After a bit I was close enough to the church house to notice nothing was there. As I crossed the open field towards the church house I noticed one of the graves had been dug up. A big hole was where there should have been dirt. I kept on moving till I reached the church. From what I could see in the moonlight it was small. There was the wide open door leading in. On either side of the door were windows. Peeking in I saw moonlight coming in. There was a hole in the roof. Besides a few broken chairs and debris from the roof the church was completely empty. The back of the church had a single window at the center. I could tell the windows still had glass. Checking around the church I noticed nothing. On the other side was forest. I went back a ways and motioned to others it was safe. I waited by the first set of headstones as the others came up.
Everyone came rushing up to the church house as the Captain asked for a report. Several of the boys were looking in the church while the others were looking out into the cemetery. Rene walked over to the dug up grave and started to kick some dirt in it.
"What happened here?" he said.
"Dunno," I replied. "Was like that when I walked up here. Whatever they was doing they seemed to have left in a hurry." As I watched him kicked some more dirt in he looked up at the sky.
"Pretty, isn't it?" he asked. "See the moon rising..."
Before he could finish shots started ringing out. I saw Rene get hit twice and fall into the open grave. We all took cover and started shooting back. Muzzle flash was coming from the tree line. We started hearing German voices and the Captain quickly started issuing orders. A grenade went off somewhere and we all took cover. Captain ordered us into the church house and take up defensive positions. As we all ran inside the Germans were yelling out something and the muzzle flash started to get closer to us. Bullets and broken glass were raining on us. Eugene and Donald tossed a couple of grenades out the front windows as Michael and myself got the front doors shut. We put a few of the broken chairs in front of it to hinder the enemy trying to enter in that way. We were all panicking as the barrage of bullets were seeming to overwhelm us.
The first screams came right outside the door. The German soldiers that were outside the church door started screaming and shooting at something outside. That was quickly followed by the other Germans shooting at something that wasn't us. Soon we heard yelling and screaming as gun fire was being shot all around us. We all looked at each other with frightened confused looks on our faces. The shooting suddenly stopped as did the screams and shouting. We listened for a few seconds for any sort of noise or sign that someone was still out there. A body jumped through the window as we all reacted and pointed our weapons at it. It was a German soldier. He was bloody and looked like he was attacked by something. The captain quickly went over to him and picked him up by his collar to his feet.
"What's going on damn it!" he yelled at the German. The Soldier looked visibly frightened and was shaking. Captain yelled the same words again at the boy. "Watlick, get over here. Tudor and Caprice, watch those windows, Cardinal, watch that back window." Donald went over to the Captain. "Ask this piece of shit what the fuck they were shooting at out there," Captain ordered. Donald told the man in German. The soldier looked at Watlick and said only one word.
"Wolfsbestie."
"What the fuck did he say?" Captain demanded. Donald turned to him with a confused expression.
"He said wolf beast."
"Wolf beast?" Captain said in a confused tone.
"Fuck!" Johnny exclaimed. "Did he just say wolf..." He didn't get to finish his sentence as something grabbed him and tried to pull him out the window. He screamed, holding onto the window beam as we rushed to help him. Something had a hold of Johnny’s legs as we tried to pull him back in. He was begging us not to let him go as his grip was slowly being pulled away from the beam. I went to the side of the window and stuck my rifle out. Something grabbed a hold of it, trying to pull it out. I reached for my pistol and fired blindly outside. Nothing happened. I then peeked out. Looking back at me were two orange eyes inside the head of what I can only describe as a huge wolf. Its teeth I remember were stained in blood as was its mouth. I let go of the rifle and jumped back in horror, yelling what the fuck was that thing. In one swift pull, poor Johnny was yanked out the window, his screams now blood curdling. Everyone backed away from the windows. Johnny continued to scream for a few seconds more before it abruptly stopped.
We all stared at the windows before the Captain shouted "fuck, the prisoner." We all turned, expecting not to see him there. Instead, not only was he there, in a corner, but he was shaking profusly and crying. He was, for lack of a better phrase, scared shitless. Tony goes over to secure him as the rest of us take up defensive positions. We are staring at the windows now. Michael sets his BAR up pointing to the back window. Myself and Eugene each have our rifles pointed at a front window. Donald has his pointed at the door. Rizzo and the Captain are at the center of the room.
"Watlick, where's the radio," Captain calls out.
"Sorry sir, I dropped it during the gunfight outside," he said.
"Son of a bitch Watlick. Do you know where?"
"Not far from the door here sir," he replied. We all tensed up as we knew what was coming next.
"Someone has to go out there and get it," Captain said. Audible fucks were said as we did not want to venture out of the church. As it turned out, we didn't have to. The radio came flying through the window, destroyed. A loud howl rang out. The thing bashed into the door that we had reinforced with debris from the church. Donald backed up a bit before firing a couple shots through the door.
We heard it run around the church. Michael started firing a few rounds while cursing. Eugene and myself started firing as it ran past the windows. It again bashed into the door. The door gave way a bit. Rizzo and Donald ran to it and tried to reinforce it again. Once again the beast bashed into it, pushing it a little further open. I ran over to help them. Together, we managed to get it to pushed closed before it bashed into it again. Tony ran over to the window and started firing in that direction before retreating from it. A growl was heard from the door and it started to run around the church again. We all took our positions again, waiting for it to attack again. Michael again lets off a few rounds as it passes his window.
Then, it got quiet. It didn't last long. But during that very brief moment I was really on edge. Tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Johnny’s body came flying in through the window. He fell a couple of feet from me. Rizzo ran and dragged him to the center of the room. He checked him for signs of life.
"He's still breathing yous guys," he said. Captain knelt down and checked on him.
"He's messed up pretty good," he said to no one in particular. "The son of a bitch out there cut him real bad. We need to get him back to HQ or he ain't going to make it." For the rest of the night the beast would bash the door and then run around the church.
I noticed it first that dawn was approaching. I let everyone know and we all just stared at the window. The beast was right there in front of it. We all saw it. Its matted blood soaked fur. Orange glowing eyes. Bare stained teeth. It let out this most awful howl before retreating. We heard it scream as if it were in pain before it fell silent. No one moved. We all had our ears on high alert, listening for any sound. None came.
I was volunteered to go check outside once the sun was out and shining. I did it hesitantly. Rizzo and Tony removed the debris from the door as Eugene secured the prisoner. Once the debris was removed I gave the signal to open the door. As soon as it opened I ran out, not knowing what to expect. What I saw was sure not expected. Blood, guts, and body parts scattered the front of the church as well as the cemetery. It was carnage that I'd only seen on the beach. That thing tore apart every German soldier out there that night. As I was comprehending what it was I was looking at I heard the rumbling of a tank approaching. I ran back into the church and let the Captain know. We all took up defensive positions, not knowing if they were friendly or the enemy. I had never felt so happy when a Sherman came into view. We all stood up as our boys came into the cemetery, setting up a defensive perimeter. Captain went up to his superior as the rest of us walked over to the Sherman. A few rows of jeeps lined up behind it.
"You boys had a hell of a night," some private said as he walked by us. We all were tired and frankly just wanted to get the hell away from here. Johnny was carried out on a stretcher onto one of the jeeps. The prisoner was brought out as well.
"We have a live one here," someone called out. We made our way over to the commotion when , to our surprise, Rene was brought out of the grave he had fallen into when he was shot. I noticed right off the bat that his clothes were in tatters. He was barley clothed. It looked like he was attacked as well. But he had no scratches nor any marks. On top of that, he looked like he hadn't been shot at all. There were no bullet wounds which I could see. Everyone else walked back to the Sherman but I stayed. I was trying to rationalize what I was seeing. As Rene was being carried away past me he opened his eyes, looking at me. He smiled and winked.
That was the story he told me as I remember it. He stated no one else knows what went down that night besides his squad that night. He doesn't know what went into the official report that his Captain made. He said I could take it or leave it as it was, but that is what he remembers of that night. We talked a bit more before I said goodbye to him for the last time. He wished me well and I went about my way. He passed away not long after. Makes you wonder just what the hell is really out there in this increasingly small world we have. I know one thing though. I will not be going near, around or directly to any place in Louisiana anytime soon.

ange do u know of any manga that read with mental health? i read mlewl + shimanami based on ur prev ask and i watched orange before too and cried my eyes out do you know of anything similar? if u havent read/watched orange id rlly rlly recommend it its abt this group of friends trying to save their friend from committing suicide and its cheesy but its so moving
OH THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD... ILL HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT
hmmmm most of the ones i read were when i was younger and i actively DONT recommend em bc they were so awful (oyasumi punpun im lookin at u >:/ )
but a couple do come to mind!
1. lonely wolf lonely sheep is a short lil yuri manga about two women with the same name that meet! it deals with abuse (lesbophobia from a friend primarily) as well as self harm and depression. it was rly sweet and rly good!
2. golondrina ! its about a lesbian who wants to commit suicide - but decides to do so in the worlds most roundabout way by dying in the ring as a matador. it’s really heavy, but really rang true for me on the experience of like - youre suicidal and in the middle of your self destructive tendencies end up accidentally creating a life for yourself. its not scanlated entirely, and i havent read it in yrs so idk what all trigger warnings to give, but. probably a lot.
3. girlish sweet, and most works in general by takemiya jin - this one was REALLY heavy, heres the trigger warnings i wrote on a rec page for it a few yrs ago “major trigger warnings: physical child abuse, domestic violence, bullying, violence, murder, divorced/absent parents. one character has a crush on a woman twice her age, but the woman never reciprocates & it's an innocent crush. underage drinking. underage sex (one character sleeps with a lot of women while she's around 16).” with all that in mind i think it handled it all really respectfully overall.
4. and this one i recommend with a grain of salt: pieta by haruno nanae. i really liked the authors other work double house - which is about a trans woman and a cis lesbian living together - but pieta i had to stop at one point bc the suicide n self harm discussion was a bit too graphic for me. BUT its a classic that most yuri fans r rly into, so it might be worth checking out.
aaand weirdly enough i recommend fruits basket! its more about abuse & trauma than specifically mental illness, but its one of my favorite portrayals of recovering from complex child on child abuse. im rly emo abt fruits basket all the time

My name is Mercy Edge and I’m a fucking sex addict . . . I’ve been told it’s a problem. But I see it as a passion; something that I’m good at. And who the fuck stops something that they’re good at? They want me to seek help; get myself check. Don't judge my lifestyle. You’re no better than me. Just admit it, you like to fuck too. Sex is what I do best; my own personal high, so I embrace it instead of being ashamed. When I'm not fucking, I'm slinging drinks at Club Edge another thing I'm good at. Every man or woman’s darkest fantasy brought to life. So, am I stopping? Fuck no. Sex is beautiful, raw and erotic and I get off knowing I can have it with anyone I want and I am not ashamed see sex it’s the best thing God created you have to live life to the fullest . . . with the exception of the man or woman who can tame my heart.. Birth Name: Mercedes Mercy Edge Age: 33Species: The Alpha Female (SheWolf) An Alpha Female is a dominant female in a group. She dates as many males as she wants, is strong and confident, and a hard worker as well as often busy. She is usually sarcastic because she's powerful and playful. Alpha Females are intelligent, intellectual problem solvers; and though being an alpha female is more of a state of mind than a physicality, an alpha understands that dressing up or sexy increases her power in society so she does it. Alpha Females are often terribly misunderstood by Beta and lesser males, as evident by the other posts about Alpha Females, and when this happens, she's called a bitch, a cunt, or a whore ... Alpha Females prefer passion over romance, although if it's romance coming from an Alpha Male, a hootttttt one, that's another story...She will surrender.  Alpha FemaleThere's a good chance that you know an alpha female, and there's also a good chance that you don't like her. You might respect her, but being liked by others is certainly not on the top of her to-do list. Here are some of the major characteristics of today's alpha female:• She's strong-minded. If she's got a plan, she won't quit until it's the plan.• She'll take charge. If the PTA President asks for volunteers, she'll volunteer to take his job.• She's a loner. She is not dependent on friends or family for motivation, encouragement, or camaraderie. Her moxy comes from within.• She's not a stereotypical nurturer. She's got people for that.• She always has her eye on a prize -- always looking to the next project. If no goal has presented itself to her, she'll create one.• She's not afraid to threaten. Though the threat may not be accompanied by the baring of teeth or the "cat fight" stance, she will make it very clear that she is not to be tampered with. She will not flinch at eliminating anyone who stands in the way of her goals.• She has lofty standards. Not only does the alpha female measure her own achievements with a yardstick that's about 5 ½ feet long, she assesses others' achievements in the same manner.• She won't stand for argument. "Talk to the hand" should be the alpha female's mantra, because she's not going to engage herself in lengthy arguments about the principles of her ideals. She's right. Get used to it.• Personal success dominates her life. The alpha female will usually gauge her success in terms of how many clients she's landed or how many acronyms tail her name.• She's competitive. Often obsessed with being the best, she won't be ashamed to admit she's "out for blood."• She's a natural leader. Others will logically look to her in times of turmoil. • She views other women in a dim light. Though the alpha female recognizes that she's not male, she also sees herself as a sort of enhanced woman, rejecting the attributes that are typically considered to be feminine (sensitive, nurturing, delicate).• She's sweet when she has to be. The alpha female has charm, and she knows how, and when, to turn it on. The method of conquering isn't important to her…but the resulting power is.Why Would a Cunning She-Wolf Hide under Sheep's Clothing?
Why is the alpha male celebrated, but the alpha female rarely mentioned or identified? Because traditionally, the genetic personality of the alpha female has been condemned, and even punished. Though the traits listed in the above section aren't undesirable in business, they can definitely hinder a gal in the relationship and mothering departments.
Throughout the history of mankind, the female has been valued for her reproductive capacity. Attraction factors of the female body that are considered beautiful today are holdovers from when men chose women for their child-bearing and child-rearing fitness (small waists, wide pelvic floors, wide hips, short arms, large breasts).
Even if a woman looks fit for bearing children, even if someone better call 911 'cause there's a Shawty fire burnin' on the dance floor, all she has to do is attest that she will not be bearing those offspring anytime soon (with actual words or through her alpha female lifestyle), and the evolutionary voice of man sends up red flags. Man's appetite for seed-sowing is insulted. Because attraction is really a vehicle for reproductive success, this woman is suddenly no longer attractive to the hopeful procreator that lurks inside most men.
Keeping this evolutionary attraction factor in mind, consider the problems that alpha female behavior might pose for yesterday's (and even today's) average woman:
• Because the alpha female harbors a fear of being lumped together with the rest of the weak (her words, not mine) females, she'll avoid falling into traditional wife, mother, and nurturer roles.
• If the alpha female has already established a family, she'll likely spend less time with her children than the average wife and mother. Because of this, she may have to endure "bad mother" accusations.
• Because the alpha female is strong, opinionated, and unlikely to endure compromise, men may either avoid her or withdraw from her (particularly beta males, who typically experience increased stress in the face of confrontation).
• For reasons that are probably already obvious, marriage can be difficult for the alpha female. A noted exception makes itself known in the case of an alpha female marrying an alpha male. He'll likely be one of the few people she'll willingly concede to.
• Often, many of the alpha female's relationships are notably devoid of emotion. She'll maintain ties that promote success, but will rarely form any type of relationship for the sake of love or comradeship alone.
• Because the alpha female has difficulty forging strong personal bonds, she'll likely spend much of her life feeling lonely, even if she's surrounded with people.
For these reasons, women throughout history have learned to stifle their alpha tendencies, in favor of more traditional, and safer, roles.
Women generally want to be liked; they seek approval. When an alpha female pursues success, it doesn't take long for her to dissect the dichotomy that is her life: what her brain is telling her to do severely contradicts what human tradition dictates.
The Alpha Female: A Division of the Missing Link?
"Bonobo." What do you picture? A big-nosed clown with a bike horn? A drunken heckler? A homeless traveler with a sack tied to a stick?
What about your closest living non-human relative? We know that we're 98% genetically similar to the chimpanzee, but some evolutionary scientists have demonstrated that we may be even more closely related to the bonobo, an ape that, to the untrained eye, may be mistaken for a chimp. Interestingly enough, one of the biggest differences between the two apes is their pedalism -- the bonobo walks more erect, like us.
But even more fascinating than the locomotion similarity is the society model that the bonobo offers for alpha females. You see, a bonobo tribe is led by the personality likenesses of Margaret Thatcher, Hillary Clinton, Dolly Parton, and Oprah Winfrey. The tribes are ruled by females, the strongest of which is always the perfect alpha model.
In bonobo troops, females are downright promiscuous (with both males and females). Sex is as common as eating, ear scratching, and well…breathing. Females don't wait around for invitations. Often, paternity is unknown, so males have little to do with the rearing of children (please don't tell Maury Povich).
When female bonobos reach the age of 6 or 7, they're kicked out of the troop. They must find new troops, in which they can groom the head females in hopes of being accepted as "wing women." But the male bonobo are permitted to stay within the troop for life. If you're a male bonobo, son of an alpha female, you will be promoted to alpha male quicker than a spoiled rich kid.
Female bonobos control the food, the oldest bonobo is generally the alpha, and the male pecking order is dependant upon their mothers' ranks, shedding a whole new light on the "your mama wears work boots" argument. So, what does this model tell us about alpha female rule? Evolutionists argue about whether chimpanzee (male-led) troops or bonobo (female-led) troops should be looked to for information about our own evolutionary purposes, and whether we are an inherently violent, chimpanzee-mirroring species, or a naturally cooperative, bonobo-mirroring species. The more moderate view of this study simply looks at two different societal situations and cites their differences as results of opposite gender rule.
The bonobo model offers a snapshot of what our lives might be like today if alpha female behavior was always as prominent as that of alpha males. If the alpha Bonobo could speak, she might imitate the words of Margaret Thatcher: "I owe nothing to Women's Lib."
The Alpha Female, Enveloped in Estrogen
Estrogen gets a lot of attention: from hormone replacement therapy to PMS to menopause. It's as thick as cold grits at basket, jewelry, and make-up parties. It's blamed for husband-bashing and teenage tantrums.
But what about all the good things that estrogen has to offer? Like high, round cheekbones, soprano voices, curves that only stop in snowsuits…and the motivation of the alpha female.
Until recently, a phenomenon that can be called a "positive estrogen loop" had been the unicorn of alpha female studies. That is, until Oliver Shultheiss, psychology professor, and Steven Stanton, psychology researcher, both from the University of Michigan, established that high estrogen can act as a catalyst for power acquisition.
In their study, detailed in Hormones and Behavior, women's affinities to power were assessed. Then, one-on-one dominance contests were staged, with estrogen levels being measured before and after each contest.
In those women who showed notable desires for power, estrogen levels were high, even before competition came into play. When women with high power motivation won competitions, their estrogen levels spiked even higher, and elevated estrogen levels were even detectable the following day.
When those power-motivated women who had higher-than-average estrogen levels lost a competition, their estrogen levels dipped below their own normal levels.
Interestingly, those women who showed low estrogen levels and little need for power from the starting gate showed little estrogen fluctuation, whether they won or lost.
This study shows us that hormonal equality does exist. Alpha males often experience a positive testosterone loop. Now, we can say with a high degree of probability that most alpha females experience a positive estrogen loop (i.e. high estrogen levels increase competitiveness and the likelihood of winning; winning heightens estrogen levels; the cycle continues). A true alpha female will likely experience a regular estrogen high, alternating winning with the desire to win.
This study also explains why many attractive women are also powerhouse alpha females, never willing to lose a battle for "mating rights" with the opposite sex. Estrogen is responsible for the traits that we consider to be most feminine and attractive, as well as for the competitive nature of the alpha female.
Put it all together, and you've got an estrogen-rich alpha female…the complementary counterpart to the testosterone-rich alpha male.
Identifying the Legendary Creature
You're at a party. It might be instinctively obvious to you who the alpha female is, but if not, there are some surefire ways to identify her:
• She'll reach out and touch someone (or everyone), without permission, and without reserve.
• It will seem that her mother never taught her that it's impolite to stare. She's not shy about boring holes through anyone, for any reason.
• Eye contact is one of her power points. She'll never lose an Old Stoneface contest.
• Interruption is common. If she's got something to say, she will ensure that it makes its way into the current conversation, no matter how irrelevant.
• She might not be pregnant, but her pauses will be. When she stops in the middle of speaking for dramatic effect, she's creating verbal cliffhangers that will keep her audience hanging on for dear life.
• The alpha female's opinion matters to the group. Whether a joke is told or a new idea is pitched, everyone in the group will usually look to the alpha female for her reaction before they display their own.
• She'll use time to create power. If the group's in a hurry, she'll find an old boyfriend to talk to. If everyone's hungry, she'll go the restroom and hold up the ordering. If there's a fire, she might reapply lipstick while she's waiting for a beta male to come along and lower the fire escape. By forcing those around her to adhere to her schedule, she's demonstrating her power.
• When with other females, the alpha female will generally walk into a room first. This marks her as the leader.
• If she's hungry, she'll eat. If she's thirsty, she'll drink. Unless she's completed finishing school, and passed with flying colors, she will never feel compelled to wait for others to start.
• She'll stand or sit tall. She rarely slouches.
• She won't fidget, dart her eyes, chew her fingernails, breathe shallowly, or jump when someone taps her on the shoulder. Her breathing will come from low in her torso; it will be barely detectable.
• She'll impersonate Barbara Walters often…asking lots of questions of others, but divulging little about herself.
• Like an extra in a breath mint commercial, she'll move in for the close talk. She's not trying to kiss, she's simply taking her slice of space from others, because she deserves it.
The alpha female generally gets lots of attention. That's part of her power…her power of attraction, her power for steering the conversation, and her power for convincing everyone else what she already knows: that she's right.
Teaching Beta Females to Use Power Tools
The majority of women are content being beta (those lower in the pecking order than the alpha), but there are some of you who either have an alpha female hiding out inside of you, or are simply longing to take the leap…to span the genetic gap that separates betas from alphas. Practicing the following nonverbal skills can help you to span that beta/alpha chasm:
• Smile. It's remarkable what power a smile can bring to you. When you smile at another person, their own mirror neurons make it nearly impossible for them not to smile, the act of which opens their minds to what you have to say, turning the power over to you.
• Work to become comfortable in your skin. Practice power poses, like standing tall with your hands on your hips and sitting with your legs in a figure-four position (please, not while wearing a skirt). Don't slouch, and don't hunch your shoulders. If you look confident, you'll feel confident.
• Don't be afraid to use eye contact. It equates to dominance, but is also valued as a terrific communicatory skill.
• Speak slowly. Taking your time and utilizing pauses within your speech gives the impression that you aren't fearful of anyone interrupting you. It also grasps attention and communicates power.
• Move deliberately. Know where you're going and go there with resolve. Avoid unnecessary movements and speed, which can make you seem less confident and a bit flaky.
• Don't confuse an alpha female attitude with a bitchy attitude. Shouting orders and purposely degrading others are not clever power tools.
• Confidence does not equate to arrogance. Announcing your skill does not make you an alpha female. Proving your skill will. As Margaret Thatcher so eloquently put it, "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."
• Allow your fun side to show through. Know that an attractive personality will enlarge the circle of "followers" surrounding you.
• Be graceful in situations that require grace, but also engage yourself doing some masculine things in your down time. Watch football, go fishing, tear apart a two-cycle engine just for fun…if you truly aspire to alphadom, you'll find yourself sharing airspace with a large number of men. A true alpha female is well-rounded, and can easily fall into conversation about most any subject.
• Don't confuse the alpha female with Superwoman. Superwoman will darn the socks, scrub the toilet, schedule the haircuts, and negotiate the settlement. The alpha female will negotiate a bigger settlement and hire someone to take care of the rest.
• Allow yourself the luxury of existing above the stereotypes that have bound alpha females for much of history. Don't apologize for your choices; the alpha female never apologizes.
So get out there, ladies. Don't be afraid to use your newly acquired power tools to get want you want; whether that's the "Yes," the job, the sale, or the man.
Celebrating a Unicorn among Mares
For centuries, the concept of alpha female has been considered an enigma…has even been used interchangeably with insults, leaving the alpha female to fend for herself in the arenas of friendship and love. But times are changing. Now we see women like Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin not only surviving the condition that was once considered to be a curse, but excelling in gaining the support of other women.
Though the studies on the elusive alpha female are limited, we can all expect to hear more from the scientific community in the near future. But for now, we can at least rest in knowing that the unicorn does exist. She's beautiful, she's capable, and thanks to science, she can finally strut her alpha stuff
