ooooh anon this is SUCH a good question!! well first, i think if sukuna ‘fell in love’ with you (aka became extremely possessive and obsessive with you, utterly infatuated with you, completely addicted to you, the closest he can come to ‘true’ love) he would be unbelievably thorough with you. yes, he loves hurting you, loves the way your facial features wring up into the cutest little wince, loves the way his name splinters into the sweetest little yelps in your throat, loves the way you sob and sniffle and stutter when he screws his face into mock concern, lips jutted out in an exaggerated pout and forehead wrinkled with false worry as he coos out aw, sweetheart, did that hurt? but at the end of the day, you’re still his. you’re still his to take care of, his to fix, his to make better. and despite how sadistic and malicious he is, right down to the very marrow of his bones, right down to the gaping black pit where his soul should be, he still takes meticulously good care of his things. 

as such, he always mends those of his things that he breaks, and he does so with a rigorous sort of fastidiousness. he’s damn near methodical with it, and it would feel cold and sterile if not for his quiet murmurs as shockingly gentle fingers, claws retracted, piece you back together, patch you up, put you in the right order again. so good, baby, you’re doing so good for me, he praises, words void of their usual, characteristic tinge of patronization as he snaps those tiny, tiny bones back into place, sets them straight and secures them in a splint.  

and you, you’re so sweet, so soft, so stupidly naive, consistently lulled into some sort of inexplicable sense of safety and security and solace every single time, that it makes it that much more fun to shatter you to absolute bits again, to have you shuddering in his arms or his lap as you wail into his neck and cling to the demon that desecrates you, that destroys you, over and over and over. but it’s all okay, because you know as much as he loves to ruin you so beautifully, to smear your face with spit and sweat and tears, to leave your body mangled and stained and scarred with him—thick gouges from claws down your back and over your ass, imprints of his fangs engraved in your neck, stamps of four handprints encircling your arms and wrists and thighs—Daddy would never break you beyond repair, Daddy will always make it right again, no matter what.

odds are it has no significance at all but i find it so incredibly interesting that buck and tommy’s first date was at the same restaurant where hen’s mom rejected clive wexler (miceli’s). when talking about her and clive later on she says she was having an affair and was going to leave until she found out she was pregnant because “i could leave my husband but i couldn’t leave the father of my child” cut to buck on his date doing fine until he sees the guy he’s been coparenting with for years. i know it’s more likely a coincidence and just a nicer restaurant in LA that would let them film but since as far as i can tell these are the only times this place appears i have chosen to find significance in the nothing!

@frogatz CAN I JUST SAY. I WAS LITERALLY WRITING DOWN SOME THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU FOR THAT ASK GAME WHEN I SAW THIS. swooning into your arms right now it's crazyyyyyyy it's crazy!!

UM!!!!! Metroid Dread (the most recent game as of now) is definitely my favorite. It combines all the elements of the series that I like while fixing a lot of the less good stuff. Plus it has the best portrayal of samus like Ever. yay!!

My tip for people who want to get into Metroid is to start with either Dread or Metroid Prime 1 (which has an HD version on the switch) ^.^ They are similar levels of difficulty imo but Dread is a lot more forgiving in terms of where you can/can't save. I'd especially recommend Dread to ppl who are used to Zelda games since it's a lot more similar to a 2d Zelda, plus is a bit more character/story-driven than many others. Both are the absolute best of the best when it comes to Metroid though so either one is a good choice :]

I think something that would have helped me understand the series as a new player (esp one more used to LoZ) is that the story isn't conveyed in the way a Zelda game's story might be. Prime 1 + 2 in particular are very interesting in that they really don't convey their story through cutscenes like a Zelda game might, but rather rely on YOU the player to piece together the mystery yourself via environmental storytelling or the scan visor mechanic. Almost like botw/totk's memories but even more integrated into gameplay. So a lot of story stuff is completely optional if you don't want to bother with it!

My final thought for new players is don't play Other M. please. it's like the cd-i of Metroid with none of the charm and the fandom at large likes to pretend it isn't real

sayer is a podcast! it is about an evil space science lab with a Worryingly Productivity Focused Work Culture called aerolith dynamics, and the AI that oversees it, named sayer!! the first season does a second person pov 'you wake up with amnesia at aerolith' thing, further seasons take different forms and expand to be about a much wider cast of humans and ai! the inevitability of change, etc etc.....

it IS a (scifi + comedy) horror podcast so be careful of scary things! coming to mind immediately as potential triggers are the high control environment of aerolith and several times of forced self-harm. and just general spooky scary atmosphere sometimes... ppl i rec it to have had a wide range of reactions spanning from "i dropped it because it was so unendingly oppressive" to "its like wtnv" to "i dont think its scary at all" so know yourself
