Why I ship it was because I wanted Piggy to have a partner but no one seemed fitting, so I decided on Jack! I don’t really remember when I first started but it was mainly because I’m into couple tropes! And Jiggy falls into Nerd x Jock, Angel x Devil, and Always Happy x Always grumpy! Also technically this is a Crack Ship and Rarepair

If anything this is a crack ship/ a ship that doesn’t really make sense or based on one thing. Sorry it’s just hard to explain when I don’t really know why I started because it was a long time ago like I started back in 9th grade and I’m in 10th now so I don’t super remember? I sorry if you still don’t understand!♥️

I’ll be honest I haven’t read the book in a while but I’ll clear up some scenes and what I think because I know this doesn’t make sense for a lot of people

1. I think the main reason that Jack is mean is because he has anger issues and doesn’t do these bad things on purpose it’s just because he gets too upset. I also think that Jack wants to seem tough and strong so people will leave him alone and not think he’s weak.

2. I know Jack is mean to Piggy but most of the time it’s because Jack wants to keep a tough persona or because he was upset and Piggy keep doing something he didn’t like.

3. I think that Piggy wants to help with his anger Jack and tries to help him in secret but Jack doesn’t want Piggy to get close to him because he’s worried of hurting him again like during the fair went out part of the book.

4. I think the only reason he hurt Piggy in that part was because he was already mad and Piggy keep pushing his buttons so he lashed out and he keep going blinded by anger. I feel like After he felt guilty but couldn’t say anything but most of the people didn’t like Piggy and he won’t have his tough persona anymore so he keeps trying to distance himself from Piggy so Piggy doesn’t get too attached.

I LOVED THE WAY THE KIDS REACTED IN THE BOOK. And I so badly wanted to see THEIR reaction the most. They sorta showed Jacks but they didn’t talk about Roger specifically which I really wanted to know the canon way he would react but I honestly feel like his first thought was just “shit bro I’m gonna get in so much trouble 💀💀” while Jack who’s next to him is going through an entire mental crisis at the ripe age of 12 😭😭

I so badly wish that there was at least SOMETHING about the aftermath after the point where it ends in the book bc what fuels my obsession the most is all the things that would happen to the boys after all of that. What would happen with Roger? He literally murdered a kid. And Jack too although I don’t really believe Simons death was his doing in particular I think the boys would most likely blame him for it if anything. Would they even tell anyone abt the stuff that happened on the island?. Would they be scared into silence??? Would someone crack under pressure and tell someone about it?!?! HOW IS RALPH GOING TO DEAL WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT EVERYONE HE KNOWS INCLUDING HIMSELF CAN GET TO THAT POINT OF INSANITY. How many of them are going to be admitted into a psych ward. I need to know. OFCCC!! i wrote a lot more about this than i thought i could, and i feel like i could keep going but i do wish to go to sleep! ty for the ask! (there was also an anon ask with this question, idk if it was you, but i'm just gonna answer this one lol)

the choir boys all know each other irl (obvi they still have choir together). everyone lives roughly in the same vicinity, but no one knows that.

they all met online during the pandemic. possibly through video games, twitter, or tiktok

how did this ragtag group of people all become friends? idk fortnite probably

i don't know much about fortnite, but it seems like it would start some friendships and/or rivalries. maybe minecraft or roblox too.

how they met and became friends is hazy, like how the beta kids became friends in homestuck. point is: they're all friends. pretty much.

some boys are closer friends than others, but they're all mutuals. they're all in like the same community. what community? that is a good question i should probably think of an answer

piggy uses the nickname people bullied him with as his online name. he gets cyberbullied and has ended up on many a cringe account, but it doesn't really bother him anymore. he likes to spread information, but he was a little self-righteous about it before he quit twitter. now he argues with people on instagram. piggy's also a redditor.

ralph usually just watches other people's content, but sometimes he'll post something and it'll get pretty popular because he's ralph and being well-liked is an innate part of his character. ralph does prefer to go out and do stuff than being online all the time.

simon is chronically online. being shy, he gravitated towards the internet. he's definitely a fandom girlie and has a tumblr (hi tumblr). he spreads positivity on the internet all the time. he's one of the good ones fr. i do hc simon as a Christian, so he does spread the Word a lot as an lgbtq affirming Christian dude

jack doesn't spend too much time on the internet. he also isn't allowed a lot of these medias by his parents, so that may have something to do with it. he does get upset when his posts don't get as many likes as ralph's

roger ragebaits and leaves hate comments all the time, but he has moments where he's nice. maurice memer obviously. sam and eric are the voros twins. i don't have too many thoughts about these guys just yet

meeting each other irl for the first time led to the utter disgust at ralph's blindness in the fashion department

ok onto them reading lord of the flies cause i think this is such a funny concept

they all miraculously start reading lord of the flies as a class assignment at the same time

the exact names and character descriptions matching up a little too well with the boys startles them, but they still joke about it A LOT.

i mean, think about it, if you were forced to read this book in class and you find out you and your friends are basically the main characters, you would NOT stop cracking jokes about it.

they do start to get a little more freaked out when, yk, stuff starts going down in the book and they have to analyze it.

i do headcanon a lot of the boys as queer, but my hcs of them as gen z-ers do differ a little from my hcs of them as gen silencers.

piggy is a strict ally, his aunt is an ally, allies all around, until he realizes he is not so straight as he seems and is not really just an ally. bisexual

ralph knows nothing about the sexuality and gender biz he just does what feels right. he's pretty much demisexual/romantic tho.

simon is a gay dude. he is gnc and on the trans spectrum somewhere

jack is the only one using queer slurs, everyone gets onto him for it. he's gay, but he doesn't know it/won't accept it (because everyone in his life is HOMOPHOBIC!!!). when he does finally accept it, he is still using those slurs as slurs he is not reclaiming them.

Every lotf character has reasons on why you can hate them

- Ralph was most likely the reason that everything went to shit

- Jack is just.. jack

- Roger is just some emo kid who everyone babies

- Simon literally did nothing except find out about the beast, which lead to NOTHING

- Piggy is just some teachers pet who thinks jes doing something ( + in the uncensored version of the book, hes racist )

- Maurice was only there to crack jokes

- Sam n Eric are literally like every other stereotypical twin dynamic

- Mulberry was only there for the first death which lead to NOTHING

Note: feel free to give constructive criticism^^, especially when it comes to making characters more in character. Also, this was copied and pasted from a google doc so sorry if the formatting is weird

Word Count: 1,125

Summary: A classic, nonoriginal AU idea of "what if they never left the island?" Would someone die? Would rivalries be forgiven? Would Jack and Ralph kiss? Or would Ralph kiss the none existent conch instead?

Preview: Jack handed Revive-nch to Ralph. Ralph carefully held it. Tears filled Ralph's eyes. The first in a while.

"Will we ever get off the island?" Ralph muttered to himself. The only thing that responded was the light rustle of leaves. It had been at least 2 years since Piggy died. Who knows, could've been even longer than that. Probably was, since he no longer heard the blood-curdling screams of feral children, and the effects of the fire were starting to heal. 

"Hopefully they think I'm dead," Ralph had begun to start saying some thoughts out loud. He didn't want his voice to fully dry up. Speaking of drying up… Ralph was currently walking towards a stream. He was close, he could tell by the familiar berry bush he occasionally ate from.

He knew eating from strange plants was dangerous, but he couldn't help but take the risk. He couldn't help but hope that the worst would happen. Even if it was painful, surely it wouldn't be the most depressing way to die.

"Maybe I should try to find Merridew's tribe," Ralph suggested to himself once he made it to the stream. Ralph cupped his hands and took quick gulps of water. After the refreshing drink, he decided to follow up with his suggestion. 

The walk to Castle Rock was far and very strange. It seemed almost too quiet as Ralph made his way to where the tribe would be. 

"Jack!" Ralph tried yelling, only to giggle at himself. How ridiculous of him- to be yelling out the name of an enemy. Ralph only hoped he was near since Jack would be more than willing to rid of him.

Once Ralph made it into Castle Rock, he frowned. There was no trace of any hunters- exception being a few sharpened sticks on the floor. Ralph sniffed the air, making himself giggle again. He was acting like a dog, smelling for the scent of their owner.

Or in his case, the smell of his demise.

Ralph turned around to leave, but before he did he heard the soft sound of footsteps. Ralph paused, and as seconds passed they got louder. From the way it sounded, there was one person in the lead followed closely by another. The rest were a blob of too many to tell how many people there were.

If the footsteps were of people. But it made sense, the footsteps were probably of the tribe. The first person Ralph saw was unexpected, but by the hair and eyes, he could tell it was Roger. He was honestly expecting Jack to be in the lead, but whatever. The moment Roger saw Ralph he froze for a second, letting out a loud shout.

"RALPH!" Roger ran towards him, sharpened stick in hand. Ralph did nothing, as he was pushed to the ground. Roger raised the stick but was stopped by a second voice.

"Roger, no!" The voice wasn't a shout, but it was firm. Roger paused to look at the other, debating if he should follow the order. Ralph could tell just by a look in his eyes. Ralph turned to see none other than Jack Merridew- plus a few others behind him.

"Chief, let me kill him!" Roger growled. Ralph prayed in his head for his end.

Jack took a few minutes to look at Ralph before responding, "no."

Ralph heard murmurs behind Jack and felt Roger hesitantly get off of him. Ralph was almost fully still, if it weren't for his breathing and heartbeat they would've assumed he died. Ralph heard footsteps approach him, ones that he assumed were Jack's.

"Get up," Jack demanded, but Ralph stayed still. What was the point of standing only to be knocked down, permanently this time? Ralph shuddered as he felt Jack try to force him onto his feat. Ralph sighed once he was standing up, and backed away from Jack. 

"You haven't changed much," Ralph smiled. While Jack kept a serious frown, Ralph could tell he was confused.

"I could kill you right now."

"Then do it," Ralph's voice almost became a growl and his response made the murmurs grow louder. Roger looked at the others and raised his stick threateningly. Before he was even finished with the threat, the others were quiet. 

"Where's the fun in that?" Oh, how the turn tables, now Jack had a wolfish grin. 

"You get to finally kill the person you probably hate the most," Ralph pointed out, only for Jack to whisper.

"That's already been done."

"Chief, what are we going to do with him?" Ralph recognized the voice of Henry. Jack turned to look at him.

"I will lead him somewhere private to talk. You guys go ahead with the feast, just leave some for us," Jack responded.

"Us implies he's coming back alive," Roger growled. Jack took a second to stare at Roger.

"For now," Jack said before motioning Ralph to follow. Ralph had nothing else to do, so he obeyed. The crowd moved to the side to let them leave, and as they walked down Ralph heard the excited yellings of children behind him.

"How many years have passed?" Ralph asked once they were just heading into the forest. "Since Piggy's…"

"At least 6," Ralph was surprised at the number.

"But… wouldn't we have changed more?" Ralph asked. Jack stopped to look at him.

"If you look close enough, yes. Though I can get how you would feel indifferent- probably living a vegan diet," Jack answered before continuing. 

"I-"

"Can you shut up until we're there?" Ralph had no idea where there was, but he immediately stopped talking. The walk wasn't too long, Ralph realized, once they made it to a familiar platform. The platform. "Sit near the edge of it."

Ralph raised a brow but followed his order. Jack disappeared for a moment before returning with a cursed object. A conch. 

"It looks like the one that was crushed," Ralph spoke his thought out loud.

"It is the same one, apparently it wasn't actually crushed- just a similar-looking shell," that probably doesn't make sense but lore doesn't care.

Jack handed Revive-nch to Ralph. Ralph carefully held it. Tears filled Ralph's eyes. The first in a while. 

"It's been so long since I've cried."

"Glad to know I caused it," Jack's reply made Ralph laugh. The silly willy.

"It's just as beautiful as the first day I saw it," Ralph smiled. Jack stayed quiet, trying to figure out what Ralph was doing. "Well, exception being that long white mark along it."

"Yeah, it may have gotten scratched," Jack reluctantly agreed. His face suddenly turned serious. "We should-"

Jack stopped once he saw Ralph kiss the conch, "what are you doing?-"

"What? Never seen a guy kiss a conch?"

"No, looks kinda gay."

"You're gay."

"Y-n-yes-no," Jack stuttered. Ralph smiled before kissing Jack.

The group of littleuns’ kept talking about some beast and while I was trying to calm them down, Jack decides to rowdy them up and say he will kill the beast and stuff like that. I look at Jack like “really?” but he just shrugged his shoulders and grabbed his spear and started assembling a team. Although this plan is stupid, I told the group that I would hunt as well because, as the chief, I need to make sure the imaginary “beast” that they believe in is killed. I need to witness the so called “beast” firsthand. So, Jack and I, plus a few others, set out on a hunt to go find the beast. But while on the hunt we encounter a few pigs and a boar. At first it was honestly scary because we had to sit silent in the bushes with a bunch of mosquitoes flying everywhere and stinging us. Then all the sudden, the bushes started making a cracking sound, I guess it symbolizes that the pig is right there because all the boys leapt forward and started charging toward it. Then I see the pig, oh wait, I believe that it is a boar. The others are very far but I think they are chasing another animal other than mine. I grab the spear that Jack made for me and lunged it as far and as fast as I could, and I heard a very loud squeal. The squeal brought enjoyment to my eyes. It was like I was in a bloodthirsty rampage. I just wanted to chase after the boar and stab it to death so I could hear more squealing and see more bloodshed. I take a step forward to charge after it but then I remember what we came here for. But my enjoyment was not lost; when the group came back, I started expressing how I hit the boar, but they just seemed disinterested. I mean I finally hit something, just like they did. I never understood why they liked hunting so much, but now I do. I screamed “I wounded him!” but the others just looked at me, they might’ve chuckled a bit but nothing major. I got kind of bummed out, but I just kept up with the group in search of this “beast” we are searching for. I mean what is the deal with these guys? I finally get a little experience of the job they do every day, but they act like it was nothing. Looking back at it, why did I want to chase after the boar? I must’ve just been too excited or something, ill just pretend like nothing happened.
