Get to Know Me_Sims Edition
got tagged by @olya-occult-lover and @van-yangyin, thank you for the tags :D I have a tendency to ramble so this is gonna be a long text post so feel free to skip this if you don't feel like reading.
1. What’s your favorite sims death?
Ngl, I personally find death iffy when it comes to playing Sims since I get way too attached to my characters so much that I never get past Generation 2 while playing the game with the Aging off. xD The most bearable death in the game that's okay with me would have to be the Drowning Death Moodlet since it reminds me of the first Sims game. (tho even back then I'd rather take care of sims than kill them at all) Any time one of my sims gets a dying moodlet, I internally panic and make sure that they evade death by all means possible. (I ensured each of my played sims have death flowers in their inventories as well as those different items that make them immune to death)
2. Alpha or Maxis Match CC?
Both! I never understood the war between the two styles since they're both just CC to me. Basically, if I like something then I like it. Both have their unique characteristics and their flaws. No need to match it with the game since no matter what one does, your character will stick out anyway thanks to the custom content itself. That being said, I like both as long as they aren't unnecessarily high-poly.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
Back when I was a kid I used to, thanks to my own personal challenge with body dysmorphia so I never had a healthy relationship with weight. Now older, I don't have a problem with it at all with my sims since I now know it's just a normal part of life.
4. Do you use move objects?
Of course! I doubt anyone would ever build without using that cheat. It's basically essential at this point.
5. Favorite mod?
Any mods from Gauntlet101010 and @baniduhaine :D I fell in love with Gauntlet's work through their Grim Reaper mods very early back then since no one else at the time catered to occults. And now, I really like baniduhaine's work since they also cater to a lot of things that occults really lack in-game (their occult bloodlines mods and plantsim mods are just <3 ) If you're a big fan of occults, please check out their work! They're really neat!
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
I remember buying Cat and Dogs first if I remember correctly??? Not sure tbh at this point since it's been a long time. But at this point, I prefer other means asides from buying now. If you get it, you get it ;)
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
aLive. I would liken it to how a reporter would say, "We're now live." Though I am unaware if there is a correct way of saying it in the first place. But if there is, feel free to enlighten me :)
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
...this is a difficult question... it's like being asked which one's your favorite child. So how can I possibly choose? But since that is not at all the case, and hopefully my characters stay fictional it would be the rundown of the following in no particular order: Pancakes, Bacon, Hamburger, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Mixed Berry Milk, Ice Cream (Cone), Sugar Cookie, Cow's Milk, Bear Burger, Strawberry Shortcake, Goth Burger, and... *proceeds to list the rest of the Food Sims Series Cast*
9. Have you made a simself?
In recent years no. The last time I did was back when I used to play Sims 1. I was never fond of making real-life people. Characters, on the other hand...
10. What sim traits do you give yourself?
The main 3 traits I would give myself are the following: Creative, Perfectionist, and Geek. Extras that would be applicable are Dog-Lover, Family-Oriented, Socially-Awkward, and Foodie.
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?
Whatever you call this hair color?? Also, I got carried away with editing so uhh, enjoy? (Yes in the photos are Pancakes and Chocolate Chip Cookie testing out the in-game hairs...and yes they do look quite cursed as blondes so I rather imagine them testing out wigs for a play or something.)
Tumblr media
12. Favorite EA hair?
Despite its flaws in texture, it would be this hair from Dine Out. (It also quite suits Pancakes methinks.)
Tumblr media
13. Favorite life stage?
Typically Young Adult. I also don't mind Teen, or Adult. And when I do make Elders, I kinda make sure they don't die lmao. I was never that attached to the kids, infants, or toddlers life stages unless they're the love child of my Sims.
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
Despite its non-existence, I was originally there for the gameplay then I got into building. (But since I poured all my efforts into CAS these recent years, I've forgotten how to build now smh)
15. Are you a CC creator?
I am :) though I mainly specialize in headgear accessories. I find it a necessity nowadays to know how to create my own Custom Content as I'm never content with my sims unless I reach what I envision for them. Not to mention the lack of CC that caters to my personal tastes which makes it even harder to stay as a simmer that is only a gamer. I guess I could say that I became a creator solely out of necessity. Though that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the process of creating. On another note, maybe one of these days, I'll try learning how to make hair or clothing since there are still concepts there that I wish was available for Sims 4.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?
Do my mutuals count??? There are a handful out there that I am very fond of although we never had a proper conversation. Then there are those that I did talk to and I apologize for the experience of talking with me since I am not very good at socializing asides from comments. I wish I could talk to my mutuals more but I become too nervous conversing in real time that I sometimes just nope out of the conversation. If this happened while we're speaking, it's not you, it's most definitely me lol
17. What’s your favorite game?
What Remains of Edith Finch, The Stanley Parable, The Beginner's Guide, The Sims, Cube Escape & Rusty Lake Series. (I mainly stick to narrative-oriented games or point-and-click adventures)
18. Do you have any sims merch?
Nope, EA doesn't need any more money.
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?
Nope. Though I do watch Sims Youtubers from time to time. (lxdice, Plumbella, itsqwertyluvs)
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?
It changed a lot. I won't say that my style got better or anything like that as that would do past me a disservice. I think it's fairer to say that my style got more fantasy-oriented when I began to understand the available CC resources that I had. My Before Simstyle is probably around 2017-2020 while my current sim style is now 2021-present. Ngl, if I ever get back into actually playing Sims 4, I'd probably use less CC similar to my sim style previously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One is not better than the other, it's just heavily dependent on what mood I feel like when I create sims.
21. What’s your Origin ID?
Nope, don't want to share.
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?
@moo2shelly (thank her for my love of foodcore CC, just sad that she's deactivated ), @vampirepill (again deactivated, I seem to have a recurring theme), and sims 4 haku at Twitter (again deactivated :') )
As for favorites that are currently active it would be @saruin. @skaays, and @gigglecoffin. (Hope you guys have a good day :) )
23. How long have you had a simblr?
I joined the Sims Community around 2020 I believe? Though at the time, I only stuck to the Sims 4 Studio Website. I think I've had this account since November of 2021 though I only started posting in January 2022. This account was only supposed to be a way for me to keep track of CC creators... I didn't expect to turn into a CC creator myself.
24. How do you edit your pictures?
I take photos using Geforce Experience while simultaneously using Reshade and CAS Lighting to achieve the best results. Then I go edit the photos in Photoshop or Canva. I also recommend using Nvidia Inspector to help fix the Graphics in Sims 4 to make it look better.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?
Probably Cottage Living <3
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?
Fairies, Circus/Clowns/Jesters, Bands, and PlantSims. (Especially that last one, please make it into an official occult.)
Tagging @westernraspberry @bnt0 @lunarspellsims <3 <3 <3 (If you guys are busy, feel free to skip this!)
And holy heck, this was long but I hope to those that made it this far that you enjoyed reading this :'D

𝙷𝙰𝙸𝙺𝚈𝚄𝚄 𝙱𝙾𝚈𝚂 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙷𝙾𝚆 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚈 𝙿𝙻𝙰𝚈 𝚂𝙸𝙼𝚂;
quick note;
hi hi hi!! it’s been a while guys! posting some drafts i wrote when i was taking a break <3 this is just how the boys play sims :)
𝙳𝙰𝙸𝙲𝙷𝙸 » plays very... responsibility?? no cheats, (he has no idea how to use them) literally gives them no time for hobbies, he’s focused on their needs to even consider hobbies + he stresses about the bills
𝚂𝚄𝙶𝙰𝚆𝙰𝚁𝙰 » spends plenty of time downloading cc and customizing his sims to perfection. even spends hours on end just creating perfect little houses. goes through the 5 stages of grief after one of his sims die
𝙰𝚂𝙰𝙷𝙸 » two words; pure panic. he has so many needs to look after! and has anyone fed the dog?? and has anyone paid the bills for the water?? why is there suddenly a fire every two seconds?!?! deletes the game after an hour of pure stress
𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙰𝙺𝙰 » downloads whicked-whims out of curiosity. regrets it almost immediately, so he tried to take it out of his game and somehow, he took out the wrong files and now all of his sims only have one leg and green skin
𝙽𝙸𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙾𝚈𝙰 » pulls the tiddy bar in CAS all the way up and you can’t convince me otherwise. besides making super hot girls in CAS, noya just fucks around with all the weird debugs and settings + desperately tries to look under the blankets during woohoo
𝙺𝙰𝙶𝙴𝚈𝙰𝙼𝙰 » gets so unbelievably frustrated at his sims, to the point where he just starts yelling at them. “didn’t i just feed you, tanisha? don’t be greedy, YOU GET WHAT YOUR GIVEN!” in some ways, i feel so sorry for his sims
𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙰𝚃𝙰 » surprisingly, very invested in the game! he’s become a master of all cheats and truly enjoys the mechanical aspect of the game. he even has all the expansion packs and everything!
𝚃𝚂𝚄𝙺𝙸𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙼𝙰 » despises the game. he thinks it’s some sort of sadistic fuel for people with god complexes. refuses to play until you mention you can drown people in the game. who’s the real sadist here, kei?
𝚈𝙰𝙼𝙰𝙶𝚄𝙲𝙷𝙸 » downloads so many mods and cc until his laptop is literally about to explode. likes to explore the hidden secrets of the game (plant-sims, rabbit holes, ect...)
𝙾𝙸𝙺𝙰𝚆𝙰 » makes a mini-sim version of himself and uses cheats throughout the entire game. no one is going to ruin a mini pixel fantasy of himself, not even the cheap ass grill that manages to set everyone on fire every two seconds
𝙸𝚆𝙰𝚉𝚄𝙼𝙸 » religiously does not believe in cheats. he would casually brag to everyone that he managed to finish 3 aspirations on one sim with no cheats but disregards the fact that all his sims are broke and starving 90% of the time
𝙼𝙰𝚃𝚃𝚂𝚄𝙽 » non-committal to all of his households. starts a new one every hour and gets bored of it within the first 5 minutes. he lowkey feels bad for the sims that he’s abandoned and checks up on them once in a while so he won’t feel guilty for leaving them
𝙷𝙰𝙽𝙰𝙼𝙰𝙺𝙸 »  “so... how do you win?” “you can’t really win, it’s a-” “then WHY ARE WE PLAYING??” the whole concept confuses him, he just ends up speeding up time the entire game until suddenly all his sims are dead. he has the audacity to be shocked
𝙺𝚄𝙽𝙸𝙼𝙸 » the type to get the “cats & dogs” pack and only focus on the animal. like he’ll forget to feed his sim but gets a panic attack every time he can’t find his cat
𝙺𝚈𝙾𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙸 » no.
𝙺𝚄𝚁𝙾𝙾 » success is his main priority in this game. he’ll make his sims as rich as possible and even make his sims work endless hours using the “no sleep” mod! also won’t let them take showers or eat until their work is done! it’s a little worrying!!
𝙺𝙴𝙽𝙼𝙰 » tries to finish the 100 baby challenge like 10 times but always fails miserably. even uses cheats and still manages to fuck up?? calls the game a waste of money on reddit and starts a hate page
𝙻𝙴𝚅 » tries to always create the most picture-perfect white-picket fence family but something always manages to get in the way. whether it be an unaccounted grill fire or the baby getting taken away, he always ends up on the verge of crying and starting a new save
𝙱𝙾𝙺𝚄𝚃𝙾 » always wants the biggest and most expansive family there is. would get mccommand center just so he could fit his family of 47 into one 20 x 20 lot. not to mention, he always has like 8 other apps running in the background so unsurprisingly, he has alot of random burns from his explosive laptop
𝙰𝙺𝙰𝙰𝚂𝙷𝙸 » the most perfect way you could play the sims, probably the way the creators intended. goes from rags to riches using no cheats, no sudden deaths and no negative moodlets. hmm... a little too perfectly played, wouldn’t you say?
𝙺𝙾𝙽𝙾𝙷𝙰 » refuses to play because of the conspiracies he read about on reddit. he genuinely thinks the sims is just a warning from the government that we’re all in a simulation and that there’s reptiles controlling all of us until we all jus- you know what, no more reddit for you konaha
𝚄𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙹𝙸𝙼𝙰 » total dumbass. wouldn’t be surprised if all of his sims just died as soon as he loaded up the game. wouldn’t even bother with cc or cas, he would just play either with the premade sims or just randomize everything.
𝚃𝙴𝙽𝙳𝙾𝚄 » utter chaos. primarily drug mods, constantly developing and making bank from his drug businesses. would have half his sims take an entire bottle of MDMA and then wonder why they died?? like yes tendou, sims (just like you!) can overdose!! shocker, isn’t it?
𝚂𝙴𝙼𝙸 »  strives on his house-building and designing skills. like this mf can speed-build mansions but he can’t figure out how to download cc. doesn’t even actually play the sims, just designs houses and then dips
𝙶𝙾𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙺𝙸 » very attentive to their needs bar. like the second his sim’s bladder bar goes down, he’s rage-clicking on the toilet + “hurry sylvia, piss! i don’t want a repeat of last time!!”
𝚃𝙴𝚁𝚄𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙼𝙰 » downloads the hoe-it up mod as a joke and then continues to become very invested in his strips clubs! the downtown fountain club isn’t doing too well? it’s okay, he’ll just make jessica do 30 lap dances until she gets her 1 minute break to eat, piss, shower and sleep!
𝚂𝙰𝙺𝚄𝚂𝙰 » takes the game a little uh... too seriously? will literally get out pen and paper to calculate his expenses, taxes and his water bill. + “no margret, you can’t shower today because then we won’t have enough money to pay the electric bill” poor margret.
𝙾𝚂𝙰𝙼𝚄 » finds out what cc is, spends 3 days just downloading cc and then continues to play non-stop for a whole week. then, he won’t touch the game for another 6 months until he remembers about it again. rise and repeat, like a true simmer
𝙰𝚂𝚃𝚄𝙼𝚄 » loves making drama! he’ll create marriages just to destroy them, make all the spouses cheat on each other and then kidnap their children for ransom until the parents go crazy and kill themselves. a true menace to society
𝚂𝚄𝙽𝙰 » would burn down his house making grilled cheese and would never play again

PC: 1.73.48.1030 / Mac: 1.73.48.1230 Console: Version 1.40 Heya Simmers! Today we bring you a small but neat update, we hope you all enjoy it! We also hope you are all well wherever you are in the World, and thanks again for all your continued support and feedback. Chaucitos - Dag Dag! -SimGuruRusskii What’s New? In Create A Sim, we have updated two hairstyles and have converted them to be used with Children and Toddler Sims as well.
First, we have the beautiful pfHair_EF30TightCurls, cfHair_EF30TightCurls, and yfHair_EF30TightCurls as pictured below, including how it would look like if worn on a Male Frame pictured as ymHair_EF30TightCurls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we have pictured below, including how it would look like if worn on a Female Frame pictured as yfHair_ShortTextured.

This author would like to apologize for her terrible photoshop skills in putting these together side by side. Very sorry… much photoshop! Getting better!
Now onto the fixes...
Bug Fixes Sims 4
Fixed an issue in which in the Gallery Preview pop-ups, Build Mode objects will now appear properly under the “Show Used Items” panel. Accuracy is the best policy… in this case.
We made some edits to some Career and School-related tooltips so they are consistent and clearer for Simmers.
The book cradleObject_GENBook is no longer visible to Simmers, it wasn't meant to be... it wasn't a pretty book. We didn't like doing it!
Some DEBUG pie menu options including some from Discover University and Snowy Escape were translated. We didn’t translate these, well since ever… as they were DEBUG and only accessible with a specific cheat, but we are working on them as we go now. Thanks for your reports and patience!
We discovered that Sims were becoming uncomfortable when Gathering Water… we didn’t really understand why, so we decided to have them not be uncomfortable. Let them feel how they want to feel, I say.
Ghost Sims will now appear as Ghosts in CAS. There were moments that they made us take a second look there, but nope, they are Ghosts and Ghosts they shall display as. I think I saw this as a plot for a movie… Ghosts… a machine, a dance… ANYWAY.
As always this editor and the Localization team made some adjustments and perfected some of the text in-game across all packs and previous updates. #getit
Get Together
Social Panel will no longer default to the incorrect tab. What tab was I on? Now I will always know.
City Living
Vegetarian Sims will no longer mistakenly eat non-vegetarian leftovers from the refrigerator. Not funny guys!
Fixed an issue that didn’t let the DigiRAD Keyboard make a sound when choosing Keyboard Auto Play.
Cats and Dogs
Listen, I think every species - well everyone, has the right to find love. But we did have to fix an issue with Female Cats going into Heat despite being Spayed. Even so, I hope my lovely Spayed Female Felines will still find love out there.
Seasons
Oh the rain, such a poetic moment from nature. Sitting cozied up with a blanket and a cup of coffee watching the world go by with the melodious sound of the raindrops falling lightly on the ground… wait… is that a Sim showering outside? Yes indeed! Showering in the Rain is possible in Light Rain conditions.
Fish Dinner will now be counted for completing Grand Meal Holiday Events.
Similarly, Shower in the Rain has been fixed for Simmers who have installed Eco Lifestyle, making the most of every resource available!
All soaps used are biodegradable - we promise!
Snowy Escape
Create A Sim asset yfBody_EP10CoatDenim will no longer create an issue with all knee-high boots. Though those boots were made for walking, the dress needs to look fabulous too. My opinion, allegedly.
Child Sims will no longer get the Unblessed sentiment after getting Blessed at the Youth Festival. Children should only get the Unblessed sentiment if they ask Yamachan about a Voidcritter Hunt and also avoid getting the Blessing of Youth from an Adult Sim as well. #Blessed
Extreme Sports enthusiasts will now be able to complete High-Intensity Skiing or Snowboarding on Intermediate or Expert Slopes. Good luck!
Recipes from this pack will now appear when unlocking Gourmet Cooking Skill Levels. Particularly Levels 3 and 5. Yum.
Sims will no longer freeze when performing interactions from a computer in Mt. Komorebi, specifically 2-4-2 Wakabamori. I think I saw this in a movie once… but… had a less “happy ending.
Discover University
Fixed an issue in which the icon for the trait Mental Magister appeared to be a Placeholder icon. Or was it?
Progressing in the Law Career will now unlock Promotions appropriately. Keep up the good work!
Eco Lifestyle
Fixed an issue in which the icon for the Making with a Mentor Moodlet was not showing the correct icon.
Eco Lifestyle-specific Traits are now added to the Clubs choices if Simmers have Get Together installed.
Collecting Beetle Nuggets will now be possible when Beetles are ready. Bon Appetit.
Outdoor Retreat
Veggie Dogs and Hot Dogs will be able to be roasted in Campfires once again. Iconic.
Vampires
Is your Vampire Sim tired of drinking the same old regular Plasma? Are they drinking it to the point that they can no longer tell if it is Plasma anymore? Ugh, such a hard diet, right? I can relate…ahem... Vampire Sims will now enjoy a more varied diet of Fish, Frog, and yes… Regular Plasma when left to their own devices.
Tiny Living
Tiny Homes will no longer magically get clean and have Dust Bunnies disappear (if Simmers own Bust the Dust) when Sims travel or Simmers reload the game. Man, I wish my apartment would magically get clean like that though.
Nifty Knitting
Fixed an issue in which the expiration timer for items listed on Plopsy was not appearing.
Paranormal
Haunted House Residential Lots will now enjoy the presence of Dust Bunnies and Fiends if Simmers also have Bust the Dust. Dust Bunny goes Boooooo.
Bust the Dust
Your Sims had a lot of things to do today, but you know what they did instead? They Vacuumed the Lot. It was a really good clean. Cooking? Vacuumed the Lot. That Gig? Vacuumed the Lot. What about those push ups? Vacuumed the Lot. Reading? Vacuumed the Lot. Looking at this bug? We made time for that. The end of this bug? Released with this Patch. Sims will no longer randomly drop their queued tasks for Vacuuming.

My ideal #TheSims5 would be...
Create a World is base game included. It has fail safes and error guards to prevent causing problems with routing. You can shape the landscape with mountains, trees, rocks, bushes, landmarks, etc, and be able to place as many lots as you need. Would require a better program that Sims 3 CAW.
It comes with 3 basic built worlds like Sims 4
It's completely open world like Sims 3
Cars and boats and other vehicles are DLC options. If there are horses, we should be able to buy a wagon or carriage.
It comes with cats and dogs do start with and you can have DLC to add other animals if you want them. And if you want wild animals (to wander your world or to live in a preserve) this should be an option too. You should be able to choose only the items you need for your style of play.
Hunting should be an option. I don't even care if it's a rabbit hole like the bear hunt in sims medieval. I like there were steaks in Sims 3. Not everything has to be cute in the Sims .
Some grit and hardship without dying from embarrassment from peeing your pants like a toddler is required. Give the sims some dignity. Hypothermia? Fine. Drowning when you're so tired you pass out? Fine. Laughing yourself to death, stupid.
Gardening plants should have unique meshes that look like real plants. Dragon fruit does not grow on a bush and corn doesn't grow on a vine. I want to utilize all of my ingredients in something. It took several packs before I had a use for bluebells in my game other than simoleons. That's not acceptable.
Off the grid options should exist in base game. Roughing it in all forms should be base game. People love rags to riches challenges. Being poor should be base game, not take 10 packs to get a bush to pee in, an option to make candles, and live off the grid. Mansions should take 10 expansions. Cities should take 10 expansions Capitalism should take 10 expansions.
The ability to make swimmable water features that are not pools, like lakes, rivers, and waterfalls.
Lots of DIY activities for the sims, especially survival related. The woodworking table was good but it had so few items. The eco fabrication thingy was cool but big klunky machines is what I hate about sims 4. Like the telescope and microscope.
Population control. If I want an uninhabited island, I should be able to have one without mods.
Cars are DLC options on an individual basis. Otherwise you have to take public transportation. I hate yellow cabs in sims 3. A public bus, train, or subway. A transportation career should be an option.
There's like 10 different cars in sims 3 I didn't use because I prefer horses, broomsticks, boats, and motorcycles and the occasional cc car. It really bloats the game to have so much unusable stuff. Maybe an option to hide objects you don't use.
Variety in community lot types.
I love the lot traits in Sims 4.
I love the changing lot types like the seasonal community lot in sims 3 and the eco living community lot. More of that!
Sims should be able to join a religion as in sims medieval. Custom religions would be interesting, which would influence sim behaviors and feelings.
Babies grow into toddlers, grow into children, grow into tweens, grow into teens grow into young adults, adult, middle age, and elderly. Ghosts are optional.
Supernatural/occult sims should be DLC on an individual basis. If I want witches and ghosts but not aliens, it should be so.
Time periods in history can be adjusted in options. It limits what sort of items you can use or clothing.
Be able to change colors and textures like in sims 3.
Bunk beds are base game.
Weather should be base game.
Illness, injuries, and cures should be base game.
Individual adventure options should be DLC. Individual careers should be DLC.
So say I have base game, my sims can take plant remedies to get better, which requires a skill, but to get "better care" you have to buy the hospital expansion that comes with the career, but also can be adjusted to some kind of economic heathcare system that you can choose. Taxes vs deductables.
User created custom content can be part of the game. People can get paid and EA can get paid for making crazy good custom content.
Self employment should be base game.
I don't want to sell on plopsy. I did like selling on the market tables on sims 4 but it doesn't always work the way I want it too.
Risky and autonomous woohoo should be a thing as should birth control without an expansion. Like even, say my sim can eat a plant and have all the woohoo she wants without pregnancy. Moodlets can be like a honey moon period, or there could be conversational based moodlets. A couple could have a conversation to "try for baby" and they get autonomous action moodlets to encourage this behavior until pregnancy is achieved. A "fertility treatment" should be a temporary moodlet from a hospital, not a trait.
Recycling should be base game. Especially breaking down recycled materials such as metals, glass, and plastic for home building materials or diy materials (like bits and pieces from sims 4 eco lifestyle)
Lots of slots for clutter. I don't like having to cheat to place objects closer together or on top of a shelf.
Wall height adjustment to any size. Auto roofs, custom roofs curved roofs, different textures. stairs of all types including spirals and ladders included in base game. Free window and door placement. Clear roofs, clear floor tiles should be available if wanted. Ceiling tiles should be a thing.
Have a full range of gender expression and sexual characteristics.
Hide /unhide mailbox to have bills and items automatically delivered to your inventory. The ability to auto pay,
Cell phone should have an option to turn it off. Turn it on, get lots of calls, invites, opportunities, etc. That's fine. But the Sim gods give and take away when it's their game.
Consequences to your actions. Don't have a criminal career without crime and punishment in the world. And yes this should be a playable career.
Don't have fires without firefighters ever again.
Have the option to turn off public services like police and fire department if desired.
I hate rabbit hole careers but some people prefer them. Jobs should have all have rabbit holes and all have options to follow to work. Even school.
Pristine graphics.
A meaningful emotional/mood/trait system.
Favorites: music, color, genre (movies and books), food.
Custom music could tie in with a service like spotify.
Game music (build/buy, maps, and loading screens) is obnoxious. I like how in sims 4 you can turn it off.
I understand fish go bad but don't let me forget to put thing in my fridge. Store all harvestable and fish at once in a fridge.
Little pop ups that tell you about a book the sim is reading would be a nice touch. You should be able to buy books your sims wrote and edit these text pop ups so that they can be shared with the gallery.
Speaking of the gallery, there should be a Sims 5 gallery.
There should also be a virtual real time sims online community. Add friends and visit each other's houses, world, etc. Your sims social media account is on there too. You can share what your sim is doing with their blog posts, followers, videos, etc. Subscribe and let your sim watch them on any screen in the house or get updates on what they are doing or if they're throwing a party which you can be invited to or hear about later. It's all built into the game seamlessly. (I know. But... This is my fantasy sims game!)
I love what they did with the inventory in sims 4 with one of the updates. Keep that.
Every expansion should come with a world. And the builds should be worth buying the world. Otherwise give us the power to create and share our own so that people who can't build or don't want to spend the time can have access to quality creative content.
I know I'm kind of all over the place but this is the kind of game I want.

Current Activities in Sims 4 #6
So here, I’m going to do a sort of character spotlight. After a little blurb, and a Read More break because there’s a LOT of images in this.
Around the time the Star Wars patch came out and killed several mods, I decided to create a new world. My first and original one after ~90 hours was becoming a bit cramped (I had about 12 custom households spread around. Still plenty of lots to move into but still). The ‘big’ ones updated quick and I just took it as a sign to start anew, with some makeovers. My first world also had sims and families that didn’t have the luxury of all the clothing options I do now, so there’s also that.
So my first madeover family is Relmyna and Ameel.
Tumblr media
Their narrative is that they are two artists helping each other out. Relmyna is a magic’d bloodline but mostly human artist who funds most of the household. She has a legit job as a painter. Ameel is... an alien. She’s all about the music, and so far has remained unemployed as she builds up her fame by DJing at certain hotspots. She avoids her disguise because she thinks that helps her get famous faster. On a narrative basis, she’s right. Mechanically, this means nothing. Just gotta deal with that “embarassed” moodlet every so often. Their main gameplay loop is Relmyna getting a shitton of money and upgrading their household. Which right now is about two or three satellite buildings.
Tumblr media
They barely enter the main house, by the way. Anyway, Ameel spends most of her time practicing instruments. She’s maxed out on DJing and Guitar, and pretty high in singing. Like 9 or something. She’ll work on Violin next, and maybe Piano. I’m not sure what any of that will really do for her, it just suits her narrative. Here’s some proper headshots. I won’t be following this same format with every Sim, just kind of figuring this out as I go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here’s one of my newest concepts, Kassandra Sun. She was originally darker skinned. She started as a Dark Elf/Dunmer from TES like thing but that ashy black skintone doesn’t really ‘work’ with the animations. They look a bit blobby, and that’s probably why the community is complaining about some of the darker skintones in the game. I made her more human-dark and realized she looked like three of my other characters (very close to Relmyna with different hair) so I just Caucasian’d her up.
Tumblr media
She’s my first foray into the acting career and so far I’m enjoying it, though it’s hard to tell how much fame I’m actually getting out of it. She’s a B-lister right now and that’s a pretty good place to be, some of the 3 star perks are very useful. Like how you can skip auditions and costuming and go straight to the role. So that’s cool. I’ve also clearly given her some elven/magical descent because I’m a slut for those Plentiful needs potions. Her current house is an upgrade from a starter but is mostly just a full prefab with an extension to put her relevant stuff. She paints on the side because I’m a slut for that painter money. She adopted a kitten named Kelly, whom I will manually age up in a season or two (I have aging disabled because some of my technically immortal character concepts were becoming elders without me noticing).
Now here comes my self insert, a trans girl named Livia Jones. I’ve talked about her in previous posts but nothing has really changed except her wardrobe. Even her default outfit has remained the same because I LOVE it and want it in real life. Pretty sure I have the pants at least.
Tumblr media
She has a pet cat named Jailbird.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, she does not have the “mischievous” trait... that I can remember. I just liked the outfit. I will say this version of Livia slightly differs from my first world’s Livia, but probably not for very long. Right now she’s a writer and with a writer’s job. In the previous world, writing was a side gig (like it is IRL) but was a professional gamer as her actual job. I might actually be going back to that eventually but I’ll go down the Author career for a small while. Her royalties are up to ~3500 right now and that’s not bad, but I also liked the idea of streaming and I want to get back to that. It’d be closer to RL, but without all the money, fame, and success. Which is why I love this game. This is Malia Tilo.
Tumblr media
My attempt at an islander and mermaid, and eventually I want to delve into the eco mechanic of the island. She has a cat named Moana.  I’ve tried a couple different things with her, like living off the grid but there’s something generating 2 units of power and I can’t fucking find it. I also experimented with the Naturalist thing from Wicked Whims but they tend to keep dressed when you’re on other Sims so it doesn’t really amount to much beyond some basic level titillation. I dress her fairly skimpily (given that the island is naturally hot) so she gets some Naturist skill over time anyway. I haven’t played her much, even in my first world, because there’s not a lot going for her to interest me. Healing the island is a slow endeavor, and being a mermaid means I can’t farm up all those Plentiful Needs potions unless I get a spellcaster to move in with her, so in turn it makes running around the whole island an irritating affair. She has 583$ to her name and an easel at the ready but... Just not really in the mood to play her. So here comes The Matriarch.
She should have a cat named Lazarus as well, which is an oversight on my part. I’ll work on it. Lorewise, she’s one of my oldest and most complex characters. Not much has changed for her in World 2, so I’ll just take some screenshots I already have:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s much nicer than she looks. She has -some- extra outfits and accessories now but that’s her main look in general. I also found a lighting-type tattoo over her body which simulates part of her curse. The idea is that she was overcharged with some chaos magic a long time ago in her plotline, thus the fucked up face and bad teeth. The stuff you see on her face (typically a vampire thing) also goes through her entire body. I couldn’t find anything that does quite what I have in my head but... it’ll do.
Tumblr media
I haven’t done much on her in World 2 yet, but I plan on downloading some type of black magic job mod so she can get to work proper. None of the odd jobs or anything suit her concept so I need something reclusive...
...like painting. Don’t judge me.  That’s all for now. I still want to make a university student and engineer. I’ll get there eventually.

I officially LOVE the new pack. I've been havin so much fun just playing in live mode, and so many of the CAS and build/but assets I'm completely in love with.
But... I am noticing A LOT of bugs (no surprises here lol). I haven't pulled cc to isolate these and determine which ones are cc related and which ones are true bugs, as none of them are game breaking, but here is what I'm seeing:
1. Kids can't get adult skills after they max child skills. The only ones my kid could access were fishing and I think charisma. No logic, violin, piano, or video game. Issue persists with mods disabled, so this one is definitely not a conflict.
2. Can't use a laptop when there is ANYTHING else on the desk.
3. A lot of aspirations/careers not crediting complete items.
4. Insect habitats saying ready to collect when there's nothing there. This happens after I've collected from a batch, and it reads as health:declining and ready to collect, but nothing there. They will get hungry and I can feed them but their health never gets better and there is never anything to collect. Are you supposed to clean out and re-farm each time you collect? If so maybe it ought to tell you?
5. Misc routing errors. Just sims being extra stupid about not being able to figure out how to walk around their houses and things, and I have to show them the steps.
6. Pets vanishing all the time (not running away just disappear). Sometimes I can call them back, but other times the only way to get them back is to leave the lot and travel with them.
7. Off the grid lots/appliances still draining power/water. Part of this is poor design--you can add iceto refrigerators, but you can't disconnect them from the grid, so even if they have ice if you have a power surplus the fridge will drain it almost instantly. But also mysterious drains--currently I have a toilet and shower, both of which are upgraded to not require a water supply. And yet my off the grid house is in the negative on water, so I'm going to have a bill. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of off the grid?
8. Plants not evolving when I tell them to. Sometimes they now require my sim to walk over and perform an action to evolve, which they never needed before.
9. Plants reverting to early growth form despite being in season (including my sage plants which are always in season).
10. "Failed to germinate" error on planting soy in vertical gardens, and it appears as the seed still, though it is actually a plant and will start to grow.
11. Oh, and peeing fire, but I'm not actually complaining about this one. 🤣
12. Phantom double flames appearing above partially burned candles.
13. Fire starts in square where generator USED TO BE after previous generator fire (few sim hours later), and instantly destroys adjacent objects even before it has a chance to spread.
14. My sim who is NOT a kleptomaniac just swiped her own laptop twice in one day (and it did not appear in her inventory). FIX AVAILABLE HERE: https://www.patreon.com/posts/no-sharing-is-no-38213433
15. Not sure if I'd call this a bug yet but she also just Tried for Baby and failed to conceieve four times in a row, which seems a little fishy to me considering thre number of other bugs at work right now.
16. Objects disappearing in build mode when placed and reappear later on. Sometimes sims still interact with them while they're gone (getting food from invisible fridge, for instance).
16. Pulled a pile of trash from my sim's inventory and set it on the grass, it IMMEDIATELY turned into a fully grown trash plant.
Oh, and this isn't a bug but my sims now get negative moodlets half the time from eating produce because apparently it gives them diarrhea?? SERIOUSLY?
I feel like there were more but that's all I can think of. I'll add if I remember more.
What bugs have you been finding?
Bugs people have told me about but I haven't seen personally:
* Negative moodlet from off the grid phone call on a lot that is not off the grid.

You might have seen me complain about this “graduation thing” that I had to write. (my English teacher actually called it a thesis, but that sounds too fancy in my opinion lol. I just...can’t see myself writing a thesis...yet. Language is funny.) Well, IT IS DONE. I CAN BREATHE NOW. I have some more things to finish before my graduation exams, and then I have to learn all the topics for the exams but for now, everything is fine. I’ll worry about this later. Speaking of exams and everything, I have one last month of high school left. When did that happen? There are the exams in May, uni entrance exams in June...and then I’m off to the so called adulthood. Help??
Let’s talk about sims for a bit...well, I’d love to but I’m almost never playing anymore. There’s no time. I’ll probably play BPR this weekend, as per usual. I guess I’ll start posting it in like June or July, so that will be almost a year since I started playing it. It’s going to be great, I promise. Well, the beginning already makes me cringe, but the things I’m doing now are fun. Kinda cringey too, but I feel like I can justify that since that’s cringey on purpose haha.
Replies now. There’s a lot of them because I don’t do these regularly anymore oops. It’s probably not everything because my activity feed hides stuff from me. I just know it. Smh tumblr
alfalfalegacy replied to your photoset “Sammy: … Lydia: “Come on.” Sammy: “These…these two guys. They laughed...”
Can't believe I'm about to throw hands with some teenagers I haven't even met lol
Same lol. They won’t even ever show up but I hate them so much
myopiccc replied to your photoset “Lydia: “They should mind their own business! Sammy, listen to me now....”
I'm on your side Lydia!
She has a good valid point but if I could talk about this to her I would probably try to stop her too. She doesn’t think about the consequences haha
create-a-sim replied to your photoset “Sim Request: Michelle Emmons for @alfalfalegacy I do this thing that...”
she's soooo cute!!
Thank youuu! I really like how she turned out too!
melien replied to your post “post nsb”
Anon told you to post nsb so you should immediately go play and post nsb because your blog exists exclusively for their personal pleasure and entertainment! No excuses!!
Wait until they find out I want to post BPR next. Another sims 3 save. SCANDALOUS. HOW DARE I PLAY ANYTHING THAT ISN’T OUR LORD AND SAVIOR THE SIMS 4™. Sorry I read a post comparing ts3 and ts4 a few days ago and I’m still salty.
Anon pls don’t start a riot
melien replied to your photoset “Annabeth: “Uh…I think your face is stuck.” Regan: “Didn’t you know...”
I second this! It's kinda creepy when it happens
It’s too much. If they smiled a little less, I probably wouldn’t mind but this is just creepy. It kinda reminds me of that Momo thing that was everywhere on the internet a few months ago. My sister showed me a picture and uhh...I didn’t need to see that.
melien replied to your photoset “Adam: “Why can’t you be more like your siblings?” Lydia: “Umm, dad,...”
She's a modern day Tyler I guess
Sort of, yeah. Tyler kinda fakes it I’d say, he’s not as dumb as he’s trying to seem. It’s a role he chose to play for reasons. Which...probably makes him dumb in a way but oh well. Lydia...I don’t want to say she’s dumb because she’s not really, but there’s a slight difference between her and Tyler haha. I could talk about this a lot.
melien replied to your post “I`d looove to make ships with other people however I`m not completely...”
It's fine! Showing them in the legacy is more than enough. With people who I have the most ships with, we do discuss them, but it's not like 24/7 headcanon exchange, it just happens naturally whenever either of us has an idea. There's no right way to act when you have a ship with someone, so you're good! It's still much better than one-sided ship when the other person just isn't interested.
I’m the kind of person who would like to have everything clear, possibly broken down to a step-by-step tutorial haha. Even though I know some things don’t work like that. So naturally, stuff like talking to people confuses me a lot. Also, teamwork! I don’t know how to do it. Depending on who I’m working with, I’ll either be the one who does all the decisions or the one who nods and agrees with everything the partner says. Communication is hard, basically.
I think that here, another big problem with me is that I hate spoilers and I don’t want to spoil anything to anyone ever. Even if they probably have the right to know first. But hey, all the current ships I have with other people have been shown, maybe I’ll feel more comfortable doing it now?
melien replied to your photoset “Didn’t I tell you to go inside? “Omg muuuuum leave me alone.”
Caleb: okay
Caleb: *rises from his grave* “Don’t disrespect me, son-in-law.”
melien replied to your photoset “Hey hi hello I know everyone is busy downloading Strangerville right...”
Super late here but Myra and everyone else look great!
Thank! I’ve been thinking about updating the entire tree again though, giving everyone new pictures, so who knows how long this will stay whoops.
melien replied to your post “Why do y'all open sim requests when I have no use for more sims. I...”
Same :/ I want sims from everyone but I just know I won't use them anywhere in the nearest future and I don't want to put pressure on myself
Looking back, I’m actually glad I requested all these sims for gen 6 because it kept me going. I knew I had to get through the hard too-many-sims-in-the-household part because I wanted to show them in the end.
I hate when people request sims and then never ever use them anywhere. Don’t get me started on “hey I want to start a new legacy, please give me spouses for all ten generations”, followed a few days/weeks later by “hey guys sorry, I’m not that interested in this legacy, I’ll be starting a new one” - and the cycle starts over again. Why would anyone do that? Just ask for a gen 10 sim when you get there, it’s not that hard to wait.
I mean, here’s what I’m doing right now - I’ve created a peach spouse for my bpr sim months ago, they haven’t even met in the legacy yet, but I’d already love to have the orange sim for the next generation because I’m so excited about this all at the moment. Am I going to ask someone now? Hell no. I didn’t play this legacy for like six months and even though I love it so much lately, there’s a chance I’ll lose interest in it again. I’ll ask for an orange sim when I’ll know I can do gen 3...it’s gen 3 right. Oh well.
melien replied to your photoset “I forgot this interaction existed. I don’t do weddings too often. My...”
Is this a wedding-specific interaction? I feel like I haven't seen it in my game yet but idk for sure
Yes! I think they can only do it with that moodlet they get as soon as they get married.
melien replied to your photoset “Lydia the…wait, I need a really good superhero name. Ah, I’ll think...”
Lydibug
Uhhhh, the other day I thought about how Eielyd (switched i/y because of her name, I know it’s eyelid) would be a really stupid nickname for her but Lydibug actually sounds cool aaaand it’s now canon she loves Miraculous Ladybug.
melien replied to your photoset “Lydia: “I’m gonna make fun of every asshole in this town. Starting...”
Ooooooooo good luck getting out of this one
Whoopsie
Something similar actually happened to me in elementary school, my friend and I were talking about which colour we want our house be when we’re adults and then I said something like: “I don’t know but I definitely don’t want it to be yellow! Yellow houses are ugly.” And she goes: “My house is yellow.” My face turned red and I started shaking because I thought I had offended her sooo badly. I remember I got out of it saying something like: “Your house is okay, I just don’t like the bright yellow ones.” I don’t know what I had against yellow houses, to be fair. But I didn’t like them.
alfalfalegacy replied to your photoset “Sammy: “How was your day, Will?” Will: “Good. Very good. You need to...”
Oh my god Will
Don't jump ahead in the plot lol
Since he plays so much with magic, maybe he’s seen the future haha

I was looking up nsb stories to read, and I found the breeze legacy which was around when Ross was still a child. Then I noticed your sims 3 posts and was like "oo that looks cool" so I started reading them from the beginning too lol
desira-sims replied to your post “Hi guys, I have a question I know some of you have been here...”
I came across a Caleb and Ross post. I then proceeded to binge read your nsb until I had caught up.
This post lowkey backfired. I asked just because I was curious and suddenly there I was, reading the comments and sobbing because this is so cool and basically, I love and appreciate you all so much guys, you have no idea.
I guess it’s one thing knowing you see someone in your activity feed all the time, and the other thing is actually remembering when you’ve started seeing them and how much they’ve seen. It’s insane.
It’s also interesting to see how I feel about many of these things now (Zoey and Miracle’s storylines are the greatest example) and then here you are still saying it was good...makes me wonder if I’m too hard on myself. I’m never satisfied with everything!

Thank you! Three more followers left. That’s insane. I still feel the same way I did when I only had like 100 followers.
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset
No, Miracle don't return to the aliens right now! You still have teens to raise! And a husband.
That would have been kinda cool if it happened, wouldn’t it? You’re not ready for what actually happened. Haha...haha...hahaha...just you wait, it starts today.
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Calypso Heather for @sinfulwunders’s Melanie BC A long time ago,...”

Thank you! I knooow, I love her so much *-* I tried doing some things differently this time and it was so worth it.
justkeeponsimming replied to your photoset “Look, she deserves a break. She freaking raised six children.”
She looks so adorable OMG
She does! My opinion on her has changed a lot through the years (I mean, she’s not my most favourite sim anymore, I don’t think her storyline was the best thing I’ve ever done etc), but nothing will change the fact that she’s the cutest sim I have.
harmoniouspixels replied to your post “˜ºï¸ Caleb Vatore”

alfalfalegacy replied to your photoset “Will: “A real fairy!” ??: “Huh?” Will: “I mean…oh my god. I’m sorry....”
Will's a big mood though. Cause I too would see a fairy and then immediately blurt something out like that
I wouldn’t blurt it out, probably (I don’t talk irl lmao), but I’d do something equally embarrassing and my reaction would be probably the same. I’d run away and feel bad about it.

ronnie these edits are SO cute! I love love love what you did with the screenshots in the background!
Thank you guys! ♥ ♥ I didn’t know what to do, so I just took some simple couple pictures and then I thought wait a minute...I could put screenshots from the two finished generations in the background!
I kinda wanna do the same thing for Rose Legacy which turns three years old this April, but I hate editing ts3 pictures - mainly because the alpha hair is a bitch to edit, at least for me. I’m pretty good at faking it, but I actually don’t know much about Photoshop :D Once again, thank you guys.

ah, NP. What Sims 4 dlc would you recommend?
I would definitely go for all of the expansion packs - I don’t think there’s a dud in the lot. I know a lot of people don’t like Get Together, but I find it can be invaluable for storytelling (even if it’s just in-your-head storytelling, which is what I do). Creating clubs for the aliens vs. everyone else (aliens come with Get to Work), the different political causes in City Living, different levels of famous people for Get Famous, etc., can add a lot of depth to your gameplay.
If you can only get 1 or 2 expansion packs, though, I’d go for Seasons and probably Get Together. Next, I’d probably do Get to Work and Get Famous. City Living would be the next one I’d grab, followed by Cats & Dogs. I’m probably the only person who ranks Cats & Dogs last among the expansion packs, but that’s because I tend to be a terrible Sim pet owner, so YMMV.
Game Packs - Parenthood would be my hands down #1 game pack. Parenthood HUGELY overhauled how you raise kids to the point where it practically remade the game. I love it; it’s wonderful. My next 2 would be Dine Out and Spa Day. I think I’m the only person who really likes Spa Day, but the moodlets you get from yoga and baths are worth it IMHO. Next would be Vampires (I like all supernatural Sims, so, YMMV). Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Retreat are at the bottom of the list, not because they’re BAD, but because you have to take your Sims on vacation to get the most out of them and I ... don’t do that often.
Stuff Packs: Seriously, these are all “take it or leave it” as far as I’m concerned. I have them all because I am a completionist with disposable income. Also, I refused to download CC for a while (because of what I did to myself with load times and TS2), so if I wanted, say more African-textured hair ... I was getting myself a stuff pack.
That said, here’s how I’d rank them:
Toddler Stuff (toddlers always need more stuff)
Kids Room Stuff (see above, only kids)
Spooky Stuff (especially if you have Seasons! You can make a holiday to use it all!)
Perfect Patio Stuff/Backyard Stuff (I get the items from these two packs mixed up all the time, but they’re both great for adding more “oomph” to your outdoors)
Vintage Glamour Stuff (butler, which I use all the time because my Sims are Fancy)
Laundry Day Stuff (laundry can be a PITA - just like real life! - but it can add some fun realism/immersion)
Movie Hangout Stuff (I kinda like the clothes for some Sims)
Fitness Stuff (I do like the athleisure wear)
Bowling Night Stuff (bowling can be fun!)
Cool Kitchen Stuff (great idea! But come on, just one fucking kitchen for $10?)
Luxury Party Stuff (the clothes are ridiculous and over-the-top, but GREAT for ridiculous and over-the-top Sim - if you have Get Famous I’d definitely make this pack a priority. The only problem is that there’s just not much in there. It was their first pack and it shows)
Romantic Garden Stuff (I suck at gardening, and there’s really not a lot here)
My First Pet Stuff (it only works if you have Cats & Dogs, and the way they did that cash grab left a bad taste in my mouth)
That was probably more than you needed to know, wanted to know, or cared to read through, but hey! You have an answer to your question!

When I hear “My First Pet”...
Okay. I’m a grown woman and don’t need to throw my hat in the ring on this one. Everybody has an opinion on this stuff pack, and wherever you fall on this, you can’t deny that it’s got a lot of people talking about it. So, let’s (nicely) talk about it.
(This is gonna be long, y’all, so hold on tight)
Having played the Sims series since Sims 2 and falling in love with every single expansion that came to that game, then Sims 3 has its additions that I seriously enjoyed (i. Want. HORSES.), we now seen that Sims 4 is something... different than we’ve seen in the past. Some call it revolutionary, some call it a constant money-grab (I highly recommend you watch Lazy Game Reviews on YouTube if you can have a sense of humor about someone reviewing a pack that you might personally like; he’s genuinely hilarious). No matter where you stand, somebody’s happy or upset about something.
Somebody left a comment on Deligracy’s trailer reaction video on YouTube that this is “the Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats stuff pack of 2018”. And, from what I’ve seen so far, I’m not going to disagree.
However, given the hostility that this pack has received, inevitably EA’s response will be something similar to the skin tone issues we experienced not too long ago: “we needed more references, please give us ideas”, et cetera.
So, okay, EA. Your customers hear you. Your Research & Development Teams are on hiatus and can’t help you get the information you need? Your market research told you that *everybody* across your international market has a hamster as their first pet?
We got you, sweetie. Have a seat at the table, and listen to your customers create their dream stuff pack.
REBLOG WITH YOUR IDEAS IN ADDITION TO MY LIST. Let’s help EA with their apparent R&D issues going forward. Read below for my list, then add the hashtag #TS4 My Real First Pet to show them how it’s done. Because let’s be honest: to the apologists who say “oh, it’s just a stuff pack, they only have so much room”, I say: that’s fair. And 75% of this pack has nothing to do with the concept of “my First Pet”. It has everything to do with what should have been an update to Cats & Dogs. So, there would be room for more actual items to fit the theme if you separate out the items that do not.
Remember when toddlers just showed up one day, fully playable and outfitted with CAS items, Build & Buy items, and fully integrated into the game *on a free and unannounced update*? There’s room to make it work, people. Let’s show them how.
When I hear “My First Pet”, here’s what I think of...
-Hamsters & Gerbils, and all of their cage accessories; running on the wheel, hiding in their little igloo houses, leaving bite marks on small children... y’know, what was in the game trailer today. Also, breeding because holy Jesus those little fur balls could not keep away from each other!
Here’s everything else I think of:
-Bunnies. Adorable, fluffy, hoppy bunnies that also live in cages and hide in little igloos! The produce mechanism in-game is perfect for them - you can grow carrots or other veggies and feed them with that (great for starter families), or buy them at produce stands like in San Myshuno if you own City Living. Introduce new harvestables like hay for their snacks, give them the ability to hop around the house free-range, or go on walks like cats & dogs can (which *does* happen!).
-Parakeets. A small bird option, as opposed to a large bird like a macaw or a parrot, and very easy to maintain for children. Their language skills could be a skill building tool for children, their small size makes them perfect walking-about buddies (a la dragons in Sims 3: Dragon Valley). Their cage size could be 1x2 squares, miniaturized from the Sims 3 model for large birds in fun and neutral colors. Again, certain harvestables could be chosen to feed them, and the toys would be *so* cute. The wind chime accessory in Backyard Stuff Pack could be altered to create a ringing noise toy for them. Also, decorating the cages could be a Build&Buy within the game itself - holy Meta, Batman! Slot those suckers and give the birdies something fun!
-Frogs & Snakes. While we already catch frogs in TS4, it’s important to note that they aren’t functional at this time. Well, cut the strings and let Pinocchio dance! Their terrariums could be cloned versions of the aquariums, or something altogether new; their mini tabletop terrariums could be given more interactive ability. Buy them flies and mice to eat, or catch them in the wild! Watch them molt out of their snakeskin. Watch the frogs swim in the water. Find the snake in the kitchen hunting for more mice!
-Sea Monkeys & Ant Farms. While not a big, fun animal to play with, these Science-projects-waiting-to-happen would be a wonderful addition to the game, especially for children not exactly ready to commit to a bigger animal but bored by fish (Parenthood skills could play a *big* part in a child’s “pet readiness”. Just saying.) Also, you could make some amazing fail states out of the ants escaping, or the sea monkeys doing tricks in the background while you are playing your family, and never on command; the possibilities for hilarious moodlets are endless.
-Ferrets. Because, ferrets. Similar to hamsters, with even more playability options! The possibilities for ferret hyjinks are hysterically funny and also endless! (See also rats and domesticated mice)
-Most importantly, A PET STORE WHERE YOU CAN GO AND CHOOSE YOUR FIRST PET WITH YOUR PARENT(S). Create a downloadable lot on the Gallery, with the newest items in it, and let the Sim kids of the world light up with joy as soon as they step through the doors. Make small pet food purchase-able like produce or books, add decor items to change moodlets *of the pet*, and maybe even have a grooming salon where you can bring your bunnies or hamsters or parakeets to get clipped/trimmed/de-flight-feathered. Set a price and check the kid’s Responsibility and Emotional Control (Parenthood) before allowing a purchase.
<takes deep breath>
So. What do you think of when you hear “My First Pet”?

Sims 4 Character Behaviours: A Weird Starting Point
Please, bear with me.
Brief introduction:
The Sims 4 is the fourth major installment in the life simulation video game series The Sims developed by the Redwood Shores studio of Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. First released in 2014, it became the best-selling game of 2014 and 2015. To date, there have been seven significant expansion packs (the most recent being Island Living, released in June 2019). You can read more in general about the game here.
The Main Point: Specific Behaviour Characteristics of Sims
Throughout all of The Sims games, the sims you create will have constantly have moods that affect them in their daily life, just as much as their daily life affects their moods. For example, if a sim is excited for a life event – say a new job, a new friend or romantic partner, etc. – they will typically respond with positive emotions, such as happy, or excited (unless you really mess around with their traits and characteristics). In the same way, a negative life event – the death of a friend or loved one, an argument or bad encounter, etc. – will logically result in a negative mood.
Unless you are an emotional tyrant (or you just act like one in-game), a sim will not experience the death of a sim or a new romantic partner every day. However, there are still small events that will happen every day, which still affect a sims mood, just on a smaller scale; these are called Emotional Buffs (sometimes referred to as de-buffs for negative moods, or moodlets as a general term for both). Positive emotional buffs for your sim could be getting a good night’s sleep, eating a great meal, enjoying a good shower. These moodlets (in conjuncture with one another) would typically result a good mood for your sim, or potentially boost a productive (or otherwise positive) mood, leaving your sim feeling creative, productive, or focussed. In fact, if you allow your sim to experience a lot of these menial, everyday tasks in a good way, your sim may even feel very creative, very productive, or very focussed. These moods only exist for a short amount of time (even when compared to regular moods for sims), but allow for even better results in whatever your sim might be doing.
In fact, it is a small group of these moodlets that I am referring to, revolving around your sim’s surroundings. This could be a building, a venue such as a library, or a restaurant; or a house or apartment, your own house, or a friend’s house; or even an outdoor area (but for the purpose for this post, and henceforth in my dissertation, these will not be focused on for reasons that will become apparent). These are positive buffs that fall under the category of furnishings, or how a certain area (as mentioned before) is decorated. They affect all sims the same (mostly), and come in several stages depending on how nicely an area is decorated. There is a full guide on moodlets available here, but below is a much shorter guide with the specific information that I will be referring to:
–Decorated (+1 towards a positive mood, or +1 boost on a productive emotion)
–Nicely Decorated (+2 towards a positive mood, or +2 boost on a productive emotion)
–Beautifully Decorated (+3 towards a positive mood, or +3 boost on a productive emotion)
The basic premise is this: if you put nice objects in a room, or a space, and your sim walks into this area, they will appreciate the objects that are within range. If they stay in the area whilst doing something, their mood will be improved and potentially boosted from these objects being in the room. Furthermore, unless you remove the items from the room in build mode, the mood improvement and boosting will automatically restart once your sim re-enters the area, and stay with them until they leave. Moreover, if a sim is left in an area that is not furnished, or area that is messy (with visible piles of rubbish that can appear in messy areas), it will have the opposite effect – they will receive de-buffs, which work logically like their positive counterparts, but encourage negative emotions, typically stress, anxiety, tension, and general feeling of uncomfortability.
(Another point worth mentioning: If you were to create an entirely new area for a sim; a new room, or house even, for a short while the sim will naturally wonder around the area whilst going about their day, and take in their new surroundings. They may react positively (or negatively) to the things they find in the room, and this will start the buffs or de-buffs coming into play.)
This idea – albeit expressed in a fictional, digital reality – did not come solely from the Redwood Studios developers. They would have had to discuss behaviour quirks and traits (at great length, might I add) of how people work; what makes them tick, and what does not. Whether they implemented these moodlets based on assumption, or from actual behavioural studies, it is not apparent – but either one does not make it any less true. In real life, people really can be affected by their surroundings, especially when it comes to their motivation or work ethic. (For a blog post about someone reverse-engineering The Sims to learn more about behaviour, click here.
Whilst this is a great reference point, I am aware (and I have previously stated) that is it featured in a fictional, digital video game. However, this line of games are meant to refer to real life in painstaking detail, in many different ways. Especially this one, the latest and greatest (and potentially last ever) instalment in the series. There may be some more Sims 4 content to follow, I am yet to explore more of these features, and I want to try and create my own, experimental scenario to fully document these behavioural characteristics, and to use them as images for my dissertation. I am also aware that at this point, this section is possibly too long at this point, but I may be able to state it in a shorter fashion.

Supernatural creatures have a long history with The Sims franchise. Makin’ Magic, back in the days of The Sims 1, introduced a variety of supernatural elements such as vampires, magic, werewolves, etc. In The Sims 2, Vampires became a thing with the addition of The Sims 2 Nightlife where they took on a more traditional look with capes and outdated clothing. With The Sims 3, we had The Sims 3 Late Night and an entire Supernatural expansion pack which built upon Vampires even further. With this long history, it only made sense for The Sims 4 to eventually get them, right?
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack takes a different approach to the supernatural scene. Instead of bringing an expansion pack which delves into a variety of different creatures, it focuses purely on Vampires. This ranges from their look, lifestyle, abilities, gameplay, and more. Upon first hearing about a game pack based around Vampires I was skeptical as I found it weird that it wasn’t part of another pack like in the past. But after playing with this game pack, I can say that I have been impressed with the depth and variety that is available which we’ve never seen before.
As always, the question remains as to whether The Sims 4 Vampires is good and therefore whether it’s worth your money. Continue reading our review to find out what’s in the pack, our thoughts, and the final review score! Before we dive into that, here is a high level overview from the game as to what is featured in this game pack:
Create A Sim
Create A Sim is probably the first point of contact that you’ll have with Vampires, if you’re not continuing an existing game or family. In Create A Sim you can now create a Vampire! Sims have their normal form but then their “dark form” which is how they will look when they transform into a Vampire, and you can choose when they switch when you’re playing with them.
Firstly, there’s a variety of new facial features for you to make your vampires look authentic and creepy (or, if you want to go down the Twilight route, you can make them look pretty too). I have made my vampires look like something from Buffy, and let’s face it they were all ugly in their vampire form. You can choose the sort of teeth they have and customise the brows, eyesockets, cheeks, mouth, archetypes, and more. I don’t believe that we’ve had this many customisation options for a supernatural creature in The Sims game before, and perhaps this is because the team were able to focus on just one life state instead of several.

You can see from the slideshow of images above that vampires can have a variety of different looks, and they look absolutely terrifying! Moving on from the fantastic facial additions, there are a variety of new hairstyles both feminine and one masculine style that comes with the pack. It’d have been nice to see a few more masculine styles, but the ones we have are decent. Moving onto other CAS items, there is new makeup and other assets which all come together to create that vampire look.
There’s also plenty of new clothing items in masculine and feminine flavours, which I LOVE! You can see some of them in the slideshow below but everything from the colours to the gothic vibes come together really well, vampires have a really distinct style in this game pack (if you want them to) because of this.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
And for those asking, yes, you can create vampire toddlers in Create A Sim if you wish. They will acquire more vampire gameplay features as they age.
Finally, to top it all off, there are new aspirations available for your Sims focusing around Vampires, including Family of Vampires and wanting to become a wise and knowledgeable vampire. This is great if you’re a Simmer who likes to complete a variety of new aspirations and this gives you Vampires something to work towards throughout their lifespan!
Create A Sim is amazing for vampires in The Sims and brings a whole new level of customisation to this supernatural creature that we haven’t had before, achievable through the click and drag functionality in CAS and the style that designers went down with the new assets.
Build/Buy Mode
Build and Buy mode is CRAMMED full of new objects that fit well in this pack. Some previous packs, such as Cool Kitchen Stuff, struggled to identify a clear theme when it came to CAS and objects, but Vampires executes this well.
Let’s dig into some of the areas of interest…
Lot Traits
These were introduced to the game with the arrival of City Living back in November and allow each lot to have unique characteristics and features. With the Vampires Game Pack, the development team have added a few new ones that will bring new unique features to your lots.
The first one is “On A Dark Ley Line”, similar to one already in-game. This lot trait will make it likely that your babies will be born as vampires (mind those teeth!). There’s also an option to be a Registered Vampire Lair, and this means that you will get various gifts in the mail from time-to-time. And finally, there’s the Vampire Nexus which makes it more likely for vampires to visit the area. This trait could be useful for community lots, even in other worlds, if you want it to be a great place to hangout after the sun goes away.

Stylised Rooms
You all know that I adore the Stylised Room feature in The Sims 4. Being useless at building, I find this easy to transform existing houses to include gameplay from various packs or to quickly build up a house. The Sims 4 Vampires brings seven new stylised rooms for you to place into your game.
These incorporate the gothic, “vampire-y” theme well with dark, strong colours and utilise new objects found in build/buy mode.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
I personally love these although they have a very niche theme, so I can’t imagine them being used in other worlds or a variety of builds. I feel like they will fit old, rustic homes that players create, which is fine, although sometimes it can be nice to have areas which work well wherever you put it. But all of these stylised rooms will easily allow you to create your Vampire Lair within minutes, if you’re lazy like me!
Wall Decorations
Now I thought this was pretty neat. When you think wall decorations, you’re probably thinking some nice pictures to pop up on your Sims’ walls. Wrong (sort of). There are some really cool new ways to decorate your homes to make them appear as if they are old and falling apart!
This includes items such as brambles and vines to place on walls, which reminds me of things that you may see on the wall of a traditional pub over here in England. Or, perhaps mainly for use inside of your Sims homes, you can get holes in the wall, cobwebs, and other various items. This is such a small thing that was added but I think it’s one of the coolest things about this expansion pack as I don’t think it’s a type of decoration that has been in a Sims game before.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Other Various Things
Of course, to make gameplay of Vampires come to life, there’s a variety of objects created for Vampires. There’s the usual things such as new beds, sofas, tables, and various decorations which you can easily utilise in any build. But also, there’s some new unique things.
The coffin is one of these and is a place for your Sim to rest throughout their immortal life (or WooHoo – more on this later), and there’s also garlic for your Sims to hang everywhere in their homes. When a Vampire is near garlic, they will get negative moodlets which will not allow them to perform interactions – this is perfect for keeping them away from your house and from biting your Sims’ necks!
Vampire Gameplay
Vampires in The Sims 4 come with the most in-depth gameplay that we’ve ever seen for a supernatural creature, in my opinion. Let’s dig into some of the cool things that are brought with Vampires…
Firstly, you need to become a Vampire. There are two ways to become a Vampire – the first being in Create A Sim or if you’re playing with an existing/non-vampire sim, you can ask a vampire to turn you. Your Sim will then go through the process of becoming a vampire over the next few days. Once they are a Vampire, you will be able to tell as they transform but also as they will have a new plumbob with a silver ring around it.
When you’re in the process of turning into a Vampire, you will receive a variety of text messages from your neighbourhood friendly vampire providing you tips and making you aware of what is happening to your Sim. You can ask him to stop texting you, but if it’s your first time becoming a Vampire in-game then it’s pretty useful.
Vampires have their own powers which allow them to do more things, similar to the way that you can level up similar to the system found in Dine Out and Get to Work. This perk-based system means you can earn points and eventually you can level up your vampire.
While you can grow as a vampire and get more power, you will also be held back by weaknesses as you gain in strength. I view this similar to the system found in The Sims Medieval where every Hero Sim had to have a bad trait, and it’s a good thing to have. While you may start creating Vampires that are the best in the business, with all possible powers, it’s good to see that there’s something to balance them out so that they’re not unstoppable machines. You can also use these powers to become a bat, which I know many people like. Unlike in TS2/TS3, you can’t follow your bat-sim as they’re flying about but instead they will fly into the air and re-appear where you want them to.
One thing that I love that Vampires can do, because it’s just so fast, is to walk anywhere super fast. Check out how cool it looks!
Vampires do not mix well with both garlic and sunlight, so keep these away! As mentioned before, hanging garlic up in your home will be a bit no-no for Vampires as I found out when my Sim became one! They HATED being inside their own home (I later realised that was because of a piece of garlic I forgot to delete). Sunlight is another thing to stay away from. You will notice that little orange embers will float off of your Vampires when they’re in the daylight… best avoid this because death is almost certain if you let them catch too much of a tan!
Vampires can also have certain interactions that they can perform. This ranges from being able to recall their mortal life, and other chit-chat related things. They can also drink plasma from other Sims, and unlike previous games they do not have to ask to do it either. They can take it from a Sim, although they may not be too happy about it…
There’s also vampire-vampire interactions including the ability to be able to duel each other and show off powers. This intense battle will see your two vampires fight each other, but don’t worry, it’s only playful (I think!).
Plus, speaking of interactions, your vampire Sims can now interact in a whole new way… if you catch my drift. The Sims 4 Vampires brings perhaps the best WooHoo that I have ever seen in a Sims game. It’s hilarious.
You know that coffin that your vampire sleeps in? Well, there’s now the ability to WooHoo in that very coffin. It’s important to note that Sims with good trait will not be able to use the coffin to WooHoo, but otherwise you’re good to go. Watch the video below and prepare to be absolutely mesmerised.
There are plenty more things that Vampires can do in The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack, and this is only just a flavour of it. Overall, I’m very impressed with the gameplay that Vampires provide. Although I haven’t played with this supernatural creature too much in previous Sims iteration, the depth and gameplay associated with it in The Sims 4 makes it much more tempting and enjoyable. Oh, and did I mention how much I adore the new WooHoo? Hopefully they won’t get a splinter from the coffin…
Forgotten Hollow
Forgotten Hollow, which I keep accidentally calling Midnight Hollow (Sims 3 World), is a brand new world where your Sims can live out their lives (mortal and immortal) in The Sims 4 Vampires. It features five lots which you can customise to your hearts content and is a similar size to the world of Granite Falls from The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat.
This world has a unique feel to it – very cold, foggy, and dark. You will notice that the days seem shorter, in the distance a fog is always present and it has an eerie feeling to it as your Sims explore the world. This is the perfect style of world for living our your Vampire fantasies in The Sims! Of course, you can still play as vampires in other worlds, but this was made for this. The pre-built houses feature a variety of Vampire families and unique styles
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Forgotten Hollow channels vibes from Midnight Hollow and Magic Town from The Sims 1, in my opinion. There’s a lot of detail to be found throughout the area including crows flying about and landing on objects, dead trees and shrubs, and even small dolls being left beside gravestones. Although San Myshuno is definitely the most advanced Sims world we’ve ever had, I think this world fits perfectly with the theme of the game pack but can also be enjoyed for regular gameplay too, after some renovation of course.
It would have been nice to see more lots available, or perhaps another neighbourhood within the world, as a common complaint with The Sims 4 when it launched was the lack of space to build. But, despite this, it’s a nice world and I look forward to spending a lot of time with my Sims here!
Random Tidbit
One cool thing that I wanted to mention, but haven’t really found a place to put it in the review yet, is the new pipe organ skill. This pipe organ object has been added into the game and it is a neat new object and way for your Sims to skill up!
Conclusion
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack brings a lot of things to the table. I will admit I was very hesitant about seeing a game pack focusing around vampires, but now that I have had time to try it I am pleasantly surprised. The team have nailed it in terms of the theme itself and brought a nice amount of CAS items, objects, and deep gameplay. This is the best iteration of Vampires in The Sims to date, but I don’t think it will attract everyone.
Check out our in-depth preview & review of #TheSims4 Vampires! Supernatural creatures have a long history with The Sims franchise. Makin' Magic, back in the days of The Sims 1, introduced a variety of supernatural elements such as vampires, magic, werewolves, etc.

The Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack has released a little while ago with lots of new features to enjoy. If you were wondering just what was in store for you with this stuff pack, you can now find out in this review. Read all about it here:
!Check out SimsVIP’s Vintage Glamour Stuff Game Guide for help with your game.!
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff is the ninth Stuff Pack for The Sims 4 and features new items, clothing, hair and new gameplay. Is this latest addition worth the $10 asking price or is it something your Sims can skip? Well, stick around as we answer this question!
What’s new?
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff comes with around 75 new additions to Build/Buy Mode and Create a Sim as well as some new gameplay features and a new TV channel. The theme of this Stuff Pack is a mixture of glamourous items with a dash of Asian themes previously seen in both The Sims 2 and Sims 3 Stores.
New Gameplay
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff comes with several new gameplay features. These are the reintroduction of the fan-favourite Butler NPC, a vanity table and a globe that doubles as a bar.
The Butler
For around §2,000 per week, your Sims can make their lives much easier by hiring a Butler to come and live with them and tend to their every whim and desire. You hire the Butler the same way as you would any other Service NPC and shortly after your randomly generated Butler will arrive and take care of your Sims’ home. You can assign your Butler their own living quarters and bed by using the new door lock and bed interaction.
By default, your swanky new Butler will clean dirty items, repair broken objects, tend to your younger Sims, play an instrument, garden and cook. But the great thing about the Butler is that what tasks they take care of can be changed to your liking. So, if you don’t want your Butler tending to your prized tomatoes, you can tell them not to garden.
You can also tell your Butler how to handle Visitors. If your Sims are far too posh to answer the door themselves, your Butler can do that for you. Or maybe your Sim doesn’t like having unexpected visitors, well, you can tell your Butler to dismiss them! Or they can do nothing. It’s up to you really.
I do really like the Butler, although the one I had seemed to have an unhealthy obsession with the new Globe Bar. It’s pretty funny watching them become embarrassed when your Sim catches them slacking off. You may also want to check out the Traits for you Butler too, I was getting very confused when things I thought I’d purchased started to go missing. For a while I was thinking that I’d forgot to purchase something, then I caught my Butler swiping items. Turned out he was a Klepto. He was fired not long after.
The Vanity Table
The next addition to the new gameplay items is the Vanity Table. This item is probably my favourite thing about this pack as it adds in a touch of realism to the game. The Vanity Table offers the same interactions as a standard mirror with the addition of an Apply Make-up interaction. When you select this option, you are met with many different premade make-up options for your Sims to apply to their face.
The new make-up will be temporarily added to the Sims current outfit choice and will override any existing make-up your Sim could be wearing. For those that are concerned that the effect is permanent, rest assured that your previous make-up choices selected in CAS remain intact and will return when the make-up is washed off in a bath or shower.
Children are also able to Play With Makeup with some amusing results. They can either make a complete mess of their face, or a not so complete mess. Either way, it’s a nice little addition to this object.
The reason why I love this item so much is that it adds to the immersion of the game. I often dislike my Sims wearing make-up all the time, so this item allows me to have them not wear it, but apply it as I wish, knowing that it won’t be there each time they wear an outfit. This is great if you want your Sims to get ready for a date or night out! Something that I dislike about the Vanity Table is that there is no option to remove make-up. It would have been a great addition to this item.
The Globe Bar
I’m not going to lie, I’m not overly impressed with the Globe Bar. The item looks great and the new drinks come with interesting designs for their bottles, but I feel like we are being over saturated with drink options at this point. We have bars, drink trays from Spa Day, drinks fountains, a fruit juice tray. There’s a lot of options and at this point it seems to be a trend to add in a new drink option for Stuff Packs.
What does set this item apart from the other drink items is the new interactions available on it. Depending on the age of the Sim and their traits, they can view the item for a few Emtion boosting Moodlets. Children Sims can also spin the globe and, on occasion, smash the contents inside. For me personally, this will most likely be an item I put in the corner of an office or study and not used that often.
Build and Buy Mode Additions
Given that this is a Stuff Pack, the items in Build and Buy Mode really lets this pack down. A lot of the items have limited use and not because of the design, but because of the lack of completion. What items we do get are very nicely made and could be used in a variety of places. However, given that this pack follows an ever-frequent trend of not completing furniture sets, it’s use to me is limited.
We get an absolutely gorgeous sofa, complete with cushions, but that’s it. There’s no love seat or armchair option to match this sofa. The colour options with the two (TWO!) dining chairs match perfectly with the new Ottoman, but these colour options don’t match the sofa.
We also got a new window and door, but again, this feels incomplete. There’s no single tiled option for the door and the window comes in one wall height option. So don’t expect to have tall windows with your tall walls. Ironically, there is are three identical mirrors included in the pack that DO give you the option of different wall heights.
We also get five new lamps and several décor items. Oh, and two new beds! The beds I actually love and they definitely embody the “glamorous” look this pack is trying to achieve!
Create a Sim Additions
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff comes with a handful of new items for Create a Sim. There isn’t much there, but what we do get is amazing. We get a couple of new hairstyles for the ladies and they look great. One is more suited for formal outfits while the other is very versatile. The clothing options are also great and there are a few things for all ages.
While there isn’t much in the way of Create a Sim options, with all the content we’ve had in previous packs, you can mix and match a lot of things with these items to get that “vintage” and “glamorous” look. The Create a Sim options is like the embodiment of the phrase by Robert Browning “Less is more”.
Value
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff retails for $9.99 USD and contains around 75 new items. The items are very well made and look great, but their use is limited.
Final Thoughts
While the new items added look great and the new gameplay features are something I can see myself using a lot, I can’t recommend this pack at it’s retail price of $10. The pack itself feels incomplete and full of fodder for the two main things, the Butler and Vanity Table.
I say it feels incomplete because of the lack of a loveseat and armchair matching the sofa and that there is no new end table matching the style of the bed and two new dressers. People who spend a lot of time in Build and Buy Mode may get more from this pack if they try to find items that somewhat match. However, people who prefer to play in Live Mode and only jump into Build Mode to quickly upgrade a room will most likely not use much from this pack as it’s hard to match things to get a cohesive look.
If you are a completionist who MUST have every pack, I think you’d be better off waiting for a hefty sale of 50-75% off before picking this pack up. For people who don’t mind missing out on packs, this pack doesn’t offer much that you will feel is missing from your game.
The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff is now available worldwide. Thank you for taking the time to read this review and I hope it has helped you make a decision about the Stuff Pack. Take care and have an amazing day!

PC:1.69.54.1020 / Mac: 1.69.54.1220 Console: Version 1.35 Happy Holidays Simmers! It’s time to go back in to Create a Sim! Where in this update you will find 100+ new skin tones, customization sliders for skin tones and makeup, and three improved base game hairstyles! Every skin tone now has a value slider that allows you to change the light to dark value of that skin tone, unlocking a much wider variety of skin tone options for you to play with! You will also find that our skin tones are now filterable to warm, cool, and neutral tones (as well as miscellaneous that covers our occult skin tones).
The new makeup sliders add more choices and opportunities for you to customize your Sims, and express your Sim’s style! Hue, saturation, value or brightness, and opacity are now available to modify on the makeup. We have locked some of the sliders where it did not provide an optimal experience or make sense for the makeup. Expect us to continue our work on these issues into the future to provide you with more. In addition to the customization opportunities provided, you can also save custom swatches as you tweak your sliders to get the perfect look. When you click on the swatch (for skin tones and makeup) as you modify the sliders, you will have an opportunity to save your custom settings, so you can re-use it later without having to remember your perfect looks! Did we mention that we made some hair updates? We did - we updated a base game child hair (cfHair_BraidedPonyTail), and we added a second version of that hair that removes the baby hairs (cfHair_BraidedPonyTailPlain). And we updated a base game male hair that you may find difficult to recognize from the original hair (ymHair_flatTopTextured)!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We have updated the Main Menu!... Again! The idea behind this change is to create a more cohesive experience and give Packs a more proper space as we continue to grow our content lineup. As a nice bonus, we highlighted the Gallery in a more meaningful way to inspire you.

Now onto the fixes:
Sims 4
Sketching so much that the Digital Sketch Pad just quit on you? Never fear! Freelancer Sims that use the Digital Sketchpad will now be able to complete designs without being reset abruptly.
Happy Birthday to all! Sims will now properly Age Up. Adulting is hard but they will make it, don’t worry.
Fixed an issue in which Doors, Windows, and Arches had cutouts when being reflected in Mirrors. Rorrim Rorrim no eht llaw, ohw si eht tseriaf erutaef fo meht lla?
Sims that do not have the Fishing Skill, or have not been Fishing at all, will not get notifications about identifying Fish. THEY WERE FISHING WITH THEIR MINDS.
The following careers have added the “Take Vacation Day” option, yay!Editor Russkii note: I didn’t want to add each line in each pack for this fix, it would have looked weird and robotic so that is why I chose to do one bullet point for all in this section.
Child Sims will no longer forget they are in their Sleepwear when they go to school. Though in these times of Work and School from Home, I don’t blame them one bit.
The Sweet Escapes Country Toilet will no longer be Comfortable AND Uncomfortable at the same time… There can only be one!
Sims with the Best Selling Author Aspiration can now complete their task of writing 3 Best Sellers.
Fixed an issue in which resized objects would disappear when they were part of downloaded Gallery items.
We revised our Careers (Pack specific and not) and we made sure there were no Chance Cards that were repeated constantly.
We noticed we had added the option to Clean Up Toddler on kitchen and bathroom sinks for both Toddlers and Children by mistake, so we removed it for both age groups from the sink… but how would have they fit? Like… how? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
Build Snowpal interaction is no longer available on non-natural ground (For Simmers that own Seasons and/or Snowy Escape). That's why it's called a Snowpal, not a Floorpal!
Gardener (Seasons)
Military (Strangerville)
Lifeguard for Teens and Conservationist (Island Living)
Law, Education, and Engineer (Discover University)
Civil Designer (Eco Lifestyle).
Get to Work
We made a clarification on the Xenophilia moodlet when interacting with Alien Sims. It should no longer say “From Discovering Aliens” but now it correctly reads “From Interacting with Aliens.”
Fixed an issue in which childbirth was not possible if Simmers changed the color swatches of the Surgery Tables. Now listen, I have heard about renting whole hospital wings for a birth in real life and other eccentricities, but this… was really something.
Get Together
Male Sims will no longer get Pregnant after receiving calls from NPC Sims.
City Living
NPC Sims will now text and call with invitations to Festivals. I personally welcomed the calm and quiet of my phone not beeping about constantly. But I can’t miss a Festival!
Sims rejoice! Yard sale customers will no longer invade their Home Lots and use Household objects. It is a Yard Sale… OUT in the yard, not an Open House.
Did you ever regret trusting some Sims enough to give them your apartment keys to constantly get visits from them for Milk and Juice? You can rest assured that they will no longer visit you for this purpose. I think some neighborly love is appreciated, but this went beyond the proverbial “May I have a cup of sugar?” type of situation.
Fixed an issue in which interactions to participate on GeekCon contests would not appear when interacting with objects.
We decided to give a bit more clarity when displaying the location of Festivals, so now it will display as “Near <insert location>” and not a distinct location that is not entirely correct. This is true for Festivals in Snowy Escape as well.
Cats and Dogs
Pets will no longer sleep in random places when told to sleep on their Pet beds. In my world they can sleep where they are most comfortable, my conspiracy… allegedly.
Seasons
Sims can now Shower in the Rain… Jury is still out on Singing and Dancing.
Sims will no longer “lose” their shovels when performing other autonomous activities while performing the interaction “Shovel Snow.”
Our friendly neighborhood Snowpal has been properly renamed to Chill from Chil. Everything I knew before was a lie… a LIE!
Ever felt like the Holiday spirit has just been too much to handle, and Father Winter starting to show up everywhere and not letting you do much of anything getting a bit… out of hand? Fear not! Father Winter will stop replicating himself* to spread holiday cheer. *Note this fix is not entirely retroactive, new saves should see this without issue. Existing saves will correct themselves over time.
Get Famous
Duck Security SCROO9E Super XL Smart Vault will no longer disappear after Sims Woohoo in it… you can say Woohoo can be romantic and magical, but maybe not to this extent?
NPCs from the Actor Career sometimes would never show on Set, making gigs impossible to complete. We've spoken with their union reps and everyone has agreed to stop this ridiculous strike. What were they striking about? Was there even a Strike? We may never know.
Island Living
Mermaids and other Occults should no longer be able to make hybrid occults. How were they making them? Oh boy, I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to give you the mermaid-birds and spellcaster-bees talk.
Randomly generated Mermaid Sims will no longer be seen without some features in affected Simmer Saves. However this fix is not retroactive, so it should be seen fixed in new saves.
Pizza delivery to Lagoon Look Lot has been fixed to arrive promptly. This is Sulani Deep Lagoon Pizza, home of the 2x1 Mermadic Kelp Pizza and the Salty Llama Combo, may I take your order? <Descriptive Simlish on the line> Uh huh… uh huh… <Indescribable Simlish on the line> Yes, we now can ACTUALLY deliver to Lagoon Look… <Interrogative Simlish on the line> Yes, we told our delivery Sims that they need to deliver it there and not keep the pizza for themselves… like give it to the actual client. <Surprised Simlish on the line>
Discover University
Has this ever happened to you? Your Sim is ready to make an offering to the Sprites only to find a crystal stuck without being able to move it? No longer a problem, Sims now can remove offerings so all their rituals can resume. Sprites rejoice.
We fixed an issue for our Console Simmers that wouldn’t allow them to close the Humanoid Robot’s Behavior Module Menus correctly.
Fixed an issue that would cause items to be repossessed when loans were fully paid. That is NOT how it worked Repo Person… NOT how it worked.
Sims with Research & Debate Skill 3 or higher will no longer be able to “Convince to” with Toddler Sims.
Masquerade Secret Society Masks are now properly unlocked in Create a Sim when joining the Secret Society.
Fixed an issue in which Heckle animation was sometimes not being performed autonomously by Sims while playing Ping Pong.
Eco Lifestyle
Fixed an issue that triggered the Off-the-Grid notifications after traveling to different Lots in Evergreen Harbor, even when they are not labeled as Off-the-Grid.
We spoke to all Eco Inspectors, and they have agreed that they should NOT be charging the Energy efficient appliances fine if your appliances are fully upgraded to be super efficient and amazing. I mean all that work and still get fined? Not in this house!
Fixed an issue in which some placeholder text was showing in notifications after Dumpster Diving.
The Americana Station Speakers will now play Music… as the prophecy foretold.
When the We Wear Bags N.A.P is active, Grim Reaper will not be partially invisible when appearing on a Lot. Grim Reaper contributes!
Living the No Appliance lifestyle? We’ve got news for you! Sims will no longer be penalized for not having “Eco-Friendly Appliances.” No appliances, no fines!
Snowy Escape
Vending Machine Canned Soups and Drinks won’t spoil anymore. Time to stock up!
Sims can no longer go on Hikes while holding their Toddlers.
Space Heaters will now be able to be placed on Lots from Inventory. Sharing the warmth everywhere!
Fixed an issue in which the Shoe Removal Sign in 5-1-2 Kiyomatsu was not working properly. We also added Shoe Removal Signs in 5-1-1 Kiyomatsu and 2-4-2 Wakabamori.
Sims will now be more visibly furious when having the appropriate furious sentiment toward other Sims. “Yes, I’m mad!... No! This IS my furious face!”
Fixed an issue with some animations that would stutter while Snowboarding or Skiing. We also made sure that Sims with a high level of those skills would not always choose the Bunny Slopes.
Izzy Fabulous’ Star Simmi Rank was just too fabulous so we had to correct it to be one star less than displayed. Don’t worry Izzy, you are a full 4 stars in my book, you are that fabulous to me.
After much debate of whether it is the Cave Shrine or the Mountain Shrine for Hiking destinations we finally decided to just call it Mountain Shrine.
We revised the Snoop-Proof Bamboo Blinds and it is now possible to drop’em like they’re hot with the Thousand Words Window.
NPC Sims will no longer “take over” the Slopes for themselves for an indefinite period of time, now they will be sharing with all Sims the joys of the Slopes.
Fixed an issue in which Sims would get highlighted in the Sentiment Panel as if receiving new Sentiments every time traveling is involved.
Sims with Rock Climbing Skill 7, or higher, are able to autonomously climb the Tall Wall (Such tall! So much wall!). There is no need to not face what makes you uncomfortable… autonomously.
Had a chat with Yamachan and asked if he was ok, he seemed to start random conversations and then randomly say goodbye without reason. We are happy to report that he is OK now and will try not to do that. Give us a hug Yamachan.
Food Stalls at Mt. Komorebi Festivals won’t be closing shop randomly during Festival hours anymore. <guitar and piano intro> Closing time, open all the Stalls and eat all the food in the world...Closing time, turn all the lights on and let Yamachan greet you heeeere…
Create a Sim asset ymHat_EP10HelmetGoggles has been fixed to no longer display clipping around the neck area as well as we made sure no facial hair is removed when wearing this asset.
Dine Out
Experimenting with photo frames will no longer use the same picture of an Experimental Meal when displayed.
Hot Pot meals are now part of Restaurant Menus! I miss the times I would go to eat Hot Pot at a restaurant. One of my favorites has a conveyor belt that carries your fixings never leaving your table for a thing. *happy sigh*
Vampires
Vampire Sims will no longer be affected by temperature, so they won't be constantly obsessed with lighting fireplaces trying to get warm.
