I think. That to truly cement herself as a Wicked legend, the next step for Louise Dearman is to make history as the first woman to play fiyero and the only actress to play all three leading roles

I'm seeing a lot of discourse on TikTok about Louise Dearman's "the wicked DIEEE ALONE" [link] in No One Mourns The Wicked and, in related topics, Katie Hall's "tears of hATE" in Final Lair [link], and now I'd like to ask for more examples where the classical soprano character suddenly belts full throttle at the rawest possible moment.

Westway announce release schedule including John Barrowman, Ramin Karimloo and My Son’s A Queer
Westway are the UK’s only musical theatre label releasing music and films and as Christmas and New Year approaches, they have announced a great schedule of music releases and live shows – from their first original cast recording to one of their most ambitious projects to date recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. They are also launching series three of Westway Sessions at one of the…

Maestro Leonard Bernstein’s “Make our Garden Grow” from Candide is one of the most beautiful and stirring anthems ever composed.
The song holds a deep and inspirational meaning. The lyrics weave together the aspirations and determination of the characters to find purpose and meaning in their lives. Through the symbol of a garden, the song signifies the desire to create something beautiful and life-sustaining amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the world.
The opening lines, spoken by Candide, acknowledge the flawed nature of humanity and the world we inhabit. He states that they are not noble and that they cannot live in beautiful harmony because such a utopian existence does not exist. However, despite this realization, he expresses a commitment to do their best and live out their lives, acknowledging the limitations of their own abilities.
Jamie Bernstein, the Maestro’s daughter, has written, “the soaring chorus seems to be telling us that growing our garden is a metaphor for the flowering of mankind itself.”
This rendition, performed at BBC Proms in 2015, by the John Wilson Orchestra under the direction of John Wilson; Scarlet Strallen; Julian Ovenden; Louise Dearman; Lucy Schaufer and the Maida Vale Singers.

For how many years, I'm still hoping for Hadley as a VA of a Disney character, preferably a prince of course. His I See The Light with Louise Dearman felt so endearing.
Eh, Raoul's my Disney Prince until some miracle happens. Gosh. Darn. Beautiful. Man.

West End Star Louise Dearman Breathes New Life into the Iconic 80s Anthem with Her Latest Single "Ordinary World" The new version of "Ordinary World" by Louise Dearman brings the old favourite to life that people know and love. The single came out with a music video that puts Dearman in the spotlight and brings her West End skills straight into people's houses. In the video, she is joined by amazing dancers who perform in front of stunning abstract images. One of the biggest stars on the West End, Louise Dearman, has taken on Duran Duran's famous song "Ordinary World," giving it her own unique musical style. Her ground-breaking roles in "Wicked" made her famous, and she is still the only actor to have played both Glinda and Elphaba. Dearman brings the same passion to this recording. Her voice soars with a dramatic quality that gives the familiar tune new depth. She finds a careful balance between paying tribute to the original and making her own artistic space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5D5RQK0zhk For school, Dearman went to Linslade Middle School and Cedars Upper School. She grew up in Linslade, Bedfordshire. When she was three, she started taking dance classes and quickly found that she loved being on stage and singing. She joined a group for kids in the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. The music quality really shines, putting Dearman's singing front and centre while keeping the song's natural draw. A deep respect for the original work is present, along with a new version that brings the 1980s song to life. https://viviplay.net/euni-melo-survival-revival-official-video-dir-by-golden-wabbit/ Dearman's voice is perfectly suited for showing how she feels; every note carries the weight of her many years of stage experience. What makes this cover unique is how Dearman's experience in theatre shapes how she sings the song. It sounds like the volume and wording were picked with care, like each line is being read to a full house in the back row. This grandiosity works surprisingly well with "Ordinary World," making the drama in the song even stronger. Dearman's version has something for people who like both musical theatre and pop songs. Her version fills in the gaps between these worlds and could bring new fans to both her work and the classic Duran Duran song. [caption id="attachment_13954" align="alignnone" width="1704"] Louise Dearman Breathes New Life into Duran Duran's "Ordinary World"[/caption] The music video that goes with it looks like it will be great to watch, with Dearman in the lead role and skilled dancers and abstract images in the background. This use of multiple media emphasises the dramatic nature of the cover and should add something interesting to the visual experience in addition to the sound. "Ordinary World" is a great start to the "Trinity" record. What this song suggests, fans can look forward to a collection of remade hits that mix old favourites with new artistic ideas. https://open.spotify.com/track/3HEMprqbvXDAs4zKDlIhOp?autoplay=true

Louise Dearman - Ordinary World (Indie Pop)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Various HOTD thoughts but only in a very oblique way because I still have not watched any of the actual show outside of Tumblr:
1. "Queer Ally Otto Hightower" is the FUNNIEST tag I have ever seen on ao3. (I also enjoyed the fic!)
2. Truly who tf directs this show. Based on the book, none of this should be this gay and yet.
3. So obviously there's a significant qualitative and quantitative difference in terms of Wrong but consider: Galinda Upland 🤝 Alicent Hightower: dykes trapped in their own comphet doing Everything Wrong (okay this is the MOST tangential but I was looking for Thank Goodness performance bootlegs on YouTube for an entirely unrelated reason and went "oh this is unfortunate" at myself. Side note: Louise Dearman's voice is literally perfect, thank you, good night.)
4. Also weirdly tangentially Wicked related thought: so in the past, I've always maintained that there's kind of like... no point to "Glinda gets on the broom/Elphaba gets off the broom" fic or "Sue comes clean to Maud before All That" fic because that is like the Central Thing that has to happen for these characters and if it doesn't is it even that character (like I'll read them still and some of them are incredibly well written and sometimes you just want the fix it and that's valid but, you know. Generally speaking) -- but also the world of ASOIAF is so fucking miserable that you know what, GIVE ME 20 different "nobody dies everyone gets along the family feud is healed game of thrones never fucking happens" fic; that is in fact all I actually want 🤷
